okay I feel like Aponi wouldn't be able to choose who her maid of honor should be so she ended up with a best man named angel dust as well.

Angel dust yelling "THATS MY BEST FRIEND" as Aponi beats up Val in her wedding dress, not getting even a lick of blood on it.

The cake would be half bitter, half sweet.

Alastor cries happy tears at the alter when he sees aponi walk down the aisle.

Everyone flabbergasted that he's even crying at ALL.

I'm writing their vows right now:

Alastor: Lilly.... My butterfly..... I never thought this kind of happiness was something I wanted.... and then I met you.... You're strong, compassionate, kind, recourseful, and sometimes a little violent, and I love you for all of that. The only regret I have is that you could never meet my mother, and that she couldn't be here..... she would've loved you... *cups aponi's cheek with his hand and wipes away her tear* You're the most beautiful woman I've ever met, inside and out, and I would give anything to be with you forever. I promise to love you, to take care of you, to be there for you, forever. I love you with all I am, and all that I wish to be.

Aponi: when I died, I spent days full of regret and pain and sadness just waiting for ut to be over.... just waiting for my afterlife to end just as quickly as my actual life.... when I met you, that changed. "Oh look over there! Blitz's children are there! You could go hang out with them! They're your age!"

"Dad I saw blitz pick them up and place them there!"

"Ah the radio demon. What a nice suprise, getting married. Just know that if you ever hurt her, there will be consequences," -lillith. But then she also gestures to Lucifer who is glaring at alastor.

Alastor is scared because they are VERY much more powerful than he is.

Not only was bee the party planner, but she's also the DJ.

Aponi, Bee, Angel, Mal, Roxxie. They all do that thing where it's like a suprise dance number from all the brides maids.

There cannot be that many flower people. Judith and one other person takes that spot. Idk who the other person is tho. I wanna say fat nuggets.

An undertale fanfic

Chapter 1: Knife to meet you?

Summary: after your date with sans, some human weirdo ends up stabbing you. One pun from you later, and you're both suddenly at toriel's house. (Inspired by @/whyiswingdingsafont)

You and Sans were walking home from your date, his hoodie draped around your shoulders. "Thanks so much, Sans. Today was amazing!" Sans shrugged lazily, with a smile plastered on his face, and a blue blush lightly dusted on to it as well. "don't question it, Y/N. i hafta admit, you were being quite humerous back there." The pun earned a chuckle from you. "I'd like to believe the puns were a joint effort." You punned right back, winking. He looked at you with a cheeky expression on his face. "oh, is it a pun war you want? well, i can assure you that-"

Before he could finish, a loud, fleshy sound was heard. And then you felt it; The pain. You clutched your side and looked to your right, seeing the masked assailant who had plunged the knife into you. You laughed awkwardly. "Well, KNIFE to meet you?" You glanced back to sans, who's eyelights were gone, along with his smile. He put a hand on your shoulder, and suddenly...

You're at toriel's house. You had met toriel on multiple occasions because her and sans were good friends. Toriel was great at baking, and whatever she made always tasted downright heavenly. But now is the present, and you were more concerned about the stab wound. Huh. The knife was gone. You ponder about where it could've gone for a moment, before sans's words grounded you back into reality. "tori. please help." His voice was uncharacteristically serious; and you could've sworn he was shaking as he clutched your left arm and looked at you.

"Oh heavens! Sans, what happened to them?" She said, rushing to you to heal your wounds. "some masked human just went up to 'em and..." It was clear that sans couldn't quite comprehend what was happening. Toriel spoke again as she healed your wound, the green magic giving you a fuzzy sensation through your torso. "Oh you poor things! Would you want to stay the night?" She got you sitting down in a chair, which was good timing, as you felt you legs were about to give in.

"I think I'll be fine..." you said, clutching your head. You turned to sans, who had been right next to you the whole time. He took a second to respond. "heh, thanks tori, but I think we'll be fine." "Oh! Are you sure?" Toriel looked concerned. Understandably so, given the current situaton. You spoke up "Haha... yeah. Thanks for being concerned." "yeah, thanks a ton." sans said, struggling to get back his chill and friendly attitude. "a skele-ton."

That joke made you laugh a good bit. ow. Ow. OW. It hurts to laugh like that. You looked down at your wound, and while it wasn't comepletely healed; the area around and on the wound was still bruised purple, at least it wouldn't bleed any more. "Well I'm pretty sure we're both bone tired, so we should probably get-" you tried standing up, but your legs were weaker than you thought. you almost fell back over, but sans and toriel were thankfully able to stablize you.

"Oh dear! I'd wait a little longer before standing up so quick." Toriel chuckled a bit. "i guess you were right about being bone tired." Sans seemed to be back to his normal self, but something seemed off. You spoke again. "Well, we'd best be going, right sans?" Sans hesitated for a moment, his eyes closed. He opened them before speaking "yeah. seeya later, toriel." Toriel gave a small wave "please be safe!"

And just like that, you were home again. Something told you that things were going to change. A lot.

For your honest opinion thoughts on sea animals? Or a3

under cut because as always i got carried away with the a3 answer------

sea animals: girl i have severe ichthyophobia so take a guess :’) i really like mammals like seals or walruses and such!! love how fluffy they start but then they’re HUGE chonky bastards i love them! dolphins are on thin line but i like how smart they are

a3: honest opinion is that i’m terrified of how different the idealized version of it that i’ve created in my head is from what it really is- i think the reason it resonated with me so strongly and i got so unhealthily attached is because it reminds me of simpler times of when i did theater in middle school. aside from the plot, music, and characters, i don’t find the game fun at all; i still play it because i want to read backstage stories and hear voiced main story, but it’s just NOT FUN at all. not a single thing about it is fun; gacha, events, team-building - all boring to me. even though i love the cast, i’m not too fond of how some characters are written (especially citron and misumi) and how, because of the amount of characters, most of them have very underdeveloped personalities despite there being potential. duh, some characters even seem to have regressed; had their huge revelation moments just for the writers to???? forget about it???? they tend to reduce characters to 2 or 3 traits and forget there’s actually depth this is how i see them being written most often despite all of them showing some type of depth:

i hate how the characters aren’t allowed to grow and change all that much because their personalities are their IMAGE, the writers are scared if they go too much in depth, they’ll have to upgrade them and they can’t afford to do that because idk fans wouldn’t like that??

my problem isn’t that the characters aren’t growing, growth isn’t linear, you can’t get better from your life-long insecurities or trauma in a day, but the problem is, you don’t even see them trying to expand on that; it’s always the same the subject of these characters is always the same: for misumi it’s always about his family, for omi it’s always about nachi, for taichi it’s always about his inferiority complex; it’s ALWAYS different situation but goes back to the same issue

and don’t get me STARTED on how they butchered the issue in the fallen blood event story; i didn’t agree with the solution A BIT, you can’t take away someone’s opportunity to learn just like that, they won’t grow if you trap them in their comfort zone, i’m so ANGY GRRRRR

i could also go all day about how they write misumi and homare, the characters who are the most obviously ND-coded, but all i have to say is that no, i will write my own canon, liber, i don’t need your butt of a joke autistic-coded characters

but the reason i’m as strongly attached to the series as i am is probably mainly thanks to the amazing discography; this franchise about theater (not even musical theater) has better (imo) discography than some franchises focused on music careers like ut// pri or b/ /ndori. i love every single song, even the songs on the very bottom of my tier list like don’t cry or spring has come, doesn’t matter; i know the lyrics to AT LEAST the chorus of every single song by heart because that’s how much i listen to them

i also see people complain about the art, they say it’s ugly but imo it’s quite decent, i guess it all comes down to your taste? the other day i spent like half an hour talking about how much i love this story image

because you really don’t see many anime series be as liberal with their facial expressions; too afraid to make a character seem ugly, but i really appreciate exaggerated expressions fr

also it doesn’t suffer from same face syndrome which is also rare (could improve on their body diversity a bit though; they have 2 body types: normal and muscular)

Welcome to “8 Questions with…..”

  It was the last week of January and someone mentioned that it was almost time for “Women In Horror Month” which happens in February. Feel a bit inspired I quickly tossed out a “interviews wanted” in my faithful casting group and got a very nice group of talented actresses who have worked in horror films who agreed to answer some questions.   Its time to meet our next guest,the very spirited young actress Chelsea Jurkiewicz who is based in Salt Lake City,Utah.  Chelsea has been performing for almost half of her life and she is just getting started. I got a chance to watch her work in the short film “Angie Bleeds” and I can assure you,she has some serious skills for someone so young.   It takes a mature actor to handle sensitive issues in a film,most younger actors tend to go big but I was very impressed with mature Chelsea handled herself.    Now she is having a bit of fun by starring in a new indie horror film,which is my cue to shut up and get out of the way of Chelsea answering her 8 Questions…..

     Please introduce yourself and tell us about your latest project.

    Hi! I’m Chelsea Jurkiewicz. I’m 21 years old, and I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. One of my latest projects is a horror movie called Abigail Haunting, where I play the lead role of Katie. We filmed it in Las Vegas. I got to work with an amazing team of multi-Emmy award winning filmmakers. It’s coming out this Summer, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! 

What was growing up in your house like? Is your family naturally artistic?

   My family is artistic, but not in the entertainment industry. My mom and grandparents are all great painters. That’s cool, but I was never really interested in that sort of thing. I kind of broke the chain of visual artists when I started acting, singing, and dancing. 

While being only 21 years old,you have been acting for 10 years,how did you get your start?

    Acting is something I’ve always loved doing, even before I knew what it was. As a kid, I was always acting out stories and making up movie titles. When I was 11, I heard about auditions for a live musical. I ended up getting cast in that, and really fell in love with every aspect of performing. I continued doing theatre for a few years. When I was 15, I decided to try film acting. I guess that was always my dream, but I didn’t feel like I was ready to jump into it until then. It was hard to get an agent and all that at first, so I started by doing a lot of background extra work. That worked out really well, because it got me used to being on a film set. Within a year or two, I was able to land an agent and start getting lead roles in short films and small speaking parts in features. In 2018, I got my first leading role in a feature film, playing Renee in The 13th Cross. (That’s coming out soon, folks.) The next year, I landed the role of Victoria Crumb in the movie, The Crumbs, out in California (that’s also coming out soon, folks), and Katie Fredrick in Abigail Haunting (that’s also also coming out soon, folks).     Since then, I’ve acted in a few amazing shorts and things. One of my upcoming shorts that really stands out to me is a fantasy drama called Lumeria. For the past several months I’ve been taking a break from acting, which I think has been really good for me. It kind of feels like taking a gap year from college to find yourself. (Not that I would know what that feels like. I’m not very school-y. Hence my use of the term “school-y”.) But anyway, it’s been a wild journey, and I’m excited to get back on set fairly soon. Wow, that answer was way longer than you bargained for. And I’m glad of it. I’m not ashamed of being a long-winded person, guys.

What three things about horror films appeal to you the most?

  I love being dramatic. And name one time you can be more dramatic than when you’re starring in a horror movie. Also, I think fear is the most intense emotion, and I like to see what I can do with it. My third reason is that I have fun knowing that I can keep the audience on their seat when I’m performing. I feel like I’ve got them in the palm of my hand. When I began my acting career as a child, I just wanted to act – I didn’t like all the power and attention that came with it. But that power and attention has grown on me as my confidence has grown. I love the power I have over the audience when I’m doing horror. Boo. Just kidding. I guess I’m a little hammy. Which makes sense, because ham is pretty much the only meat that I think is yummy.

What  three films have scared you the most and what scared you about them?

   I think I’m kind of desensitized to horror films because I’m around the genre so much. I see it from a behind-the-scenes perspective, you know? But I think one of the greatest horror films ever made is The Conjuring. It’s so well-shot and well-acted, and shows that you don’t need a ton of blood and profanity to scare people. Fun fact: I actually auditioned for The Conjuring 2, and had never seen the first one. I watched it before I auditioned for pre-text, and was like, “Oh my gosh!” Totally amazed. Still amazed. Anyway, we aren’t here to promote that movie. (but it had Ocean Master in it! -Editor) Another one of my favorite horror movies is Crimson Peak, because I love period pieces. And that cast is super dang good. I also love The Witch. One of my big wishes is to work with A24. I can’t give you an answer for what scared me about them. I’m just not easily freaked out by the obviously scary stuff. I’m literally more afraid of broken dolls or something. There’s a drawer in the house I grew up in that me and my mom call the “Scary Drawer” that has broken dolls from my childhood in it. I don’t throw them away because randomly I have an urge to scare myself. Is that weird? I don’t care.

Do you have a different approach in your preperations depending on the script?    What has been the three best pieces of advice given to you acting wise?

  Yes, I do prepare differently based on each particular production. That being said, though, I don’t have any conscious strategy to prepare for a role. If there’s any research I need to do, I do it. I write notes in the script sometimes. I rehearse. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have to try. It just comes. Trying too hard can corrupt that. I sound like a granola, but it’s true. That’s why I don’t take acting classes. I’m not sure if I believe in strategy. As for the second part of your question, here are 3 great pieces of advice given to me (in no particular order). One is from a great friend of mine who told me that it’s not about the dialog, but what happens underneath. I am definitely a dialog person, so I don’t even 100% agree with that, but I still consider it one of the best pieces of advice because it reminds me to pay attention to my facial expressions. Facial expressions can get you cast. Seriously. Another piece of advice is from my mom. It wasn’t meant to be advice for acting, but I use it in my career as much as I do in my personal life. And it is simply to be confident in yourself and don’t care what others think of you. My third piece of advice was from a very established director that I was doing a callback for once. Because of my extensive horror background, I kind of got to the point where I thought every scene needed the intensity that a scary scene does. This movie I had been called back for wasn’t a horror film, but I did the scene with so much intensity and drama. It was literally so dramatic. The director told me to do the scene again, and he had one note for me. “Less.” That one word made me realize that I can save my energy for the scenes that need it. I didn’t book that role, but I auditioned for The 13th Cross like 2 days later, used that advice, and landed my first lead in a feature.

Which do you perfer,film or live theater and why?

 I think I’ll always appreciate both…I did start in theatre after all…but I’m going to have to say film. I’m a very subtle actor, and film is the medium that lets me use that talent. Also, I’ve gotten to play much more dramatic and juicy roles in movies than I ever did in plays. And probably most important of all, I just feel like film peeps are more my species of peep.

Which three people inspire you the most and why?

 That’s a tough one – so many people inspire me! If we’re talking celebrity-wise, I’d say Kate Winslet. She’s kind of the reason I got into film acting. I always wanted to be like her. You should read my 15-year-old self’s journal entries. I talk about Kate Winslet so much, it’s not even funny. Another one is Emily Blunt because she is so freaking versatile. That’s how I want to be. Oh and Toni Collette. I’m not even going to give you a reason for that other than she’s just super cool and talented and dramatic as heck. If we’re talking someone I personally know, I’d say my friend Dennis. He is just beyond amazing and interesting. And as mysterious as a treasure chest. He has so much love for literally everybody. 

What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?

 Ice-skating, making jewelry, walking/hiking, anything involving a tape recorder, photography, and most of all, any type of adventure with my friends or family. 

What are three things people would be surprised to know about you?

 I love this question! Can I tell you more than 3? Well, I’m gonna. 

      -1. I’m also a singer and dancer.

      -2. I am related to Scottish royalty. 

      -3. I have a severe mental disorder called Psychasthenia. 

      -4. I have been onstage with David Copperfield.

      -5. I am ambidextrous. 

      -6. I have never been swimming, and I used to think that was a deep dark secret.

      -7. I am related to Elizabeth Montgomery.

      -8. My favorite food is cheese.

    Okay, I’ll stop boring you. Not that it’s boring, hee hee.

The cheetah and I are flying over to watch your latest film but we are a day early and now you are playing tour guide,what are we doing?

 Hmmm…well you really SHOULD visit Salt Lake sometime, it’s a beautiful city. One of my favorite attractions in Utah is an amusement park called Lagoon. I can’t ride all the rides because I get motion sick really easily, but I still love that place. Besides fun rides, they have little shops, and an arcade, and an old-fashioned museum thingy-jingy. Another one of my favorite places near my hometown is the Grand America Hotel. It’s kind of like a mall in there, and it’s the fanciest place I’ve ever seen. I also might take you to a cute little place called Gardner Village.

  I like to thank Chelsea for doing such an fun and interesting interview. Of course the cheetah and I looking at each and going “A24????” knowing full well a certain film buff we know will be getting a HUGE kick out of that…..yeah,Danny,we are talking about you! The thing is,I believe Chelsea will indeed work on a A24 film in the near future,she has the drive and the skills to make it happen for herself. then there was the dd-lc panel! in it, some guy in the audience offered natsuki snack bars (n she took one, as well as gave one to yuri) after calling her “the starving one”, and ome guy said “natsuki, your dad’s a dick. can i adopt you” n went up to the panel table n sifned a piece of paper monika wrote on that was ‘adoption papers’ and he gave natsuki a hug n called her his daughter for the rest of the panel. some guy dared natsuki to rip a page out of her manga (she had 2 books of manga on the table) n she actually DID rip out a page, and not a useless one like the “you’re reading the wrong way” page, either. the audience was like “why!!” n she n monika were like “i’m/impulsive!!”. natsuki was frequently referred to w “baby” (as im “she’s baby”) throughtout the panel. everyone thought yuri was the most fashionable when asked on a truth. sayori was asked how it was “hanging” and what her favorite brand of rope was.

after that, i Wanted to go to the she r-a princess alliance, but when i kept glancing out at the riverwalk, there was no one there?? so i just went to the bn-ha improv n it was!! actually funny. there was a skit where iida, denki, n kirishima were at a coffee shop n present m!c was the barista n iida ordered black coffee but said it wasnt right or smth or he never rly got his order, denki asked for a mocha with seventeen shots of expresso (he then drank it n did the “wey wey” friend brain thing later b4 the skit ended and was also vibrating after drinking it), and kirishima listed off a ton of things for his drink n kept going on and on. another one was bakugou being shown to be a “mommys boy” in front of uraraka and shinsou (i think) and there was a mitsuki in the audience so she went up (and actually brought snacks for the panelists! like a true mom) and during the skit she showed them his baby photos and pushed him down n at some point idk how she was sitting on his back n using him as a chair. there was also a skit w bakugou as the person at a coffee shop that had NO drinks whatsoever, only a bagel. n iida was like “what’s the flavor?” n bakugou just kept going “..bagel.” n “bagel flavor. i dunno.” n iida asked how much it was n bakugou went “$400″. then while present m!c was going on abt wanting a drink n getting angy, the iida went into the audience n started asking a few random ppl while they walked down the aisle “is this a dunkin donuts?”

after that i just walked around bc i had 2 more hrs w Nothing to do and stumbled upon a casual FP group in the dealers room but before i could get  picture one of them recognized the character on my sign or just the series or smth i think but onething led to another n i started talking with them and i sat down w them but they were like “can you like, introduce us to ens-tars we hear a lot abt it” so i went on the wiki n showed them the characters n the gentaro rly liked rabits (shino n nito in particular) n rei, dice liked yuzuru n shinobu, n ramuda liked tori n rei. i showed them reis cgs, specifically the one w kaoru and his crossroads cg n i was like “the cgs that signlehandedly made the whole fandom h*rny for like. a week.” n the gentaro was like “you mind if i [takes a drink] Thirst.” n the gentaro was also interested in koga n i was like “he’s an edgy wolfk!n who likes punk music” and i talked abt what wataru is like n fice was like “he seems like hifumi” n im like “he rly is!! he’s hifumikin.” n for shu, ramuda was like “apparently hes an asshole” n i was like “yea definitely.” n when they asked me to describe leo i was like “oh uh. he’s Fuck. i dunno how to describe him! i dont rly like him that much tbh. he’s ecentirc n one of the oddballs n he composes on walls and literally their drama cd back in the day is knights looking for him n like, finding him behid a bush composing going ‘i got inspiration!!’” n i referred to midori as the suicidal one n i was like “you tink im joking but anytime anything happens he always goes ‘i wanna die’” and when i talked abt souma ramuda was like “is he friends with shinobu?” since i’d already described shinobu n i was like “well they kno each ogher but theyre not rly friends iirc.. they had an event together tho”. at one point the ramuda paused the music they were playing in the bg n decided toplay ens-tars music n they chose undead n started blasting Death Game Holic n i was like “...oh. that’s not undead” n ramuda was like “it says undead..?” n i was like “its Deadmanz! a former unit w koga, keito, n rei” n i started jamming out n the gentaro slightly joined me for a sec. anyway uh. god these tidbits of convo r all out of order im sry but idk what caused this part of the convo but the ramuda said they were ramudakin n the gentaro said they were lowkey gentarokin n i think they mentioned these bc dice said they cosplayed dice yet arent dicekin?? i cant rly remember. oh also when i showed the gentaro rei they were like “oh i kin him now. im not saying in kinning, but im Kinning” or smth like that n im gjhnsmk at one point i mentioned my friend kuma’s dice rat art edit n the gentaro wanted 2 see it but i couldnt show em bc it was too far back in my tumblr dms. we started talking abt MTC and how ramuda wishes they got like, more hardcore rock stuff like Death Game Holic (which was still playing) bc they seemed “gangsta n hardcore” then immediately mellowed out in their songs after that n i said that yokohama walker still like, slaps tho n it kinda calms me down n ramuda said papillion calms them down. the ramuda was shocked at tori’s high voice bc they knew his va as worick from gangsta n didnt think toris voice would b That High n were surprised when they heard tori’s solo. 

after that, i had a hard time trying to decide between the LL dance panel or the hs panel n just decided on the LL panel n i hav the dances on video so yay (the final song got cut off 3/4 of the way thru n im so :(( but oh well...) n they played Telephone/Rumors and “Who’s Most Likely”. between this panel and the next one, i talked to a kaito who was the aki hana’s hanayo the previous day n we just talked abt some stuff n at one point they pulled out an izanagi plush n they asked if i was into pers0na n i was like “yea! i even was gonna cosplay adachi but my gun didnt come in n i dont think i coulda done his wig” n they apparently had abt 300 hrs on pers0na 3 FES n we talked abt how stat grinding is such a repetitive, boring thing in pers0na 3.

the bn-ha panel! i... dont remember a whole lot abt this panel im sorry. but like, halway thru, they started playing games w he audience after q n a n i got bored bc they did things like red light green light n simon says so i just took selfies while most of the audience played along. during the qna i remember someone asked shigaraki if their fog plushie could b a league of villains member tho n he said ys n held the push when it was handed to him. someone gave bakugou a giant human-sized fan n todoroki went up against bakugou w his rainbow fan.

After two years of pent-up anticipation, Democrats have finally done what they have long been favorites to do: win control of the U.S. House of Representatives. As of this writing, our colleagues at ABC have projected 223 seats for Democrats and 201 seats for Republicans. Democrats have turned 29 Republican-held seats blue, while Republicans have flipped one Democrat-held seat, for a net Democratic gain of 28 (so far). Those three Democratic lightning strikes in “Likely Republican” territory qualified as some of the night’s biggest surprises. Republican Rep. Dan Donovan was a 4 in 5 favorite in New York’s 11th District, but Democrat Max Rose won 53 percent to 47 percent. Republican Katie Arrington had an 11 in 12 chance of winning the South Carolina 1st, but Democrat Joe Cunningham eked out a 51 percent to 49 percent win. And in the Oklahoma 5th District, our forecast had given Republican Rep. Steve Russell a 14 in 15 chance to return to Washington, but Democrat Kendra Horn toppled him 51 percent to 49 percent. One thing all these districts have in common? They are all anchored by urban areas: New York City, Charleston and Oklahoma City, respectively.

Indeed, a theme of the evening was that suburban areas came up big for Democrats.1 We’ve often used so-called “Romney-Clinton districts” as a stand-in for these areas — districts that voted for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012 but switched their allegiance to Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016. Republicans had hoped that these places had voted for Clinton because of an aversion to President Trump, but that they would remain loyal to their more traditionally Republican representatives. That didn’t end up being the case. Not only did Democratic House candidates win most Romney-Clinton districts, but in at least six of the 13 races, they did so by margins that exceeded Clinton’s margin over Trump.

What’s more, there are still thousands of votes outstanding in California because so many voters there vote by mail (many ballots are still probably en route to elections offices). So those three Romney-Clinton districts in California where the Republican is currently leading could still flip Democratic as well.

Compare this to how Democrats performed in Obama-Trump districts, which are working-class areas that are disproportionately in the Midwest and Northeast. At first glance at the table below, it looks like Democrats did pretty well in these districts. But they were aided by incumbent advantage in five of these districts.2 In open or Republican-held Obama-Trump districts, Democrats have officially picked up eight seats.3 Republicans held on to four others and flipped at least one Democratic-held Obama-Trump seat red (the Minnesota 8th), so it was more of a mixed bag.

Finally, what about the races that are still unprojected? Several of them are in California, which, as I mentioned, may take several days to count up all its results. Others, like Minnesota’s 1st and our old friend Georgia’s 6th, are simply too close to call. One might even require special rules to resolve: In the Maine 2nd District, it looks like no candidate will get a majority, which means that Maine’s ranked-choice voting rules will come into play. The second- and possibly third-place choices of the voters who voted for the race’s two independent candidates will be redistributed between Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin and Democrat Jared Golden. Currently, Golden leads 47 percent to 44 percent, but it could very well be Poliquin who ends up winning under these rules. Between that and California, it’ll be a bit before we know the exact margin future Speaker Nancy Pelosi (or whoever!) will have to work with in 2019.

Debut Authors Tell All: Ellie Terry, Middle-Grade Novelist

Every year the editor of Children’s Writer’s & Illustrator’s Market compiles a handful of debut authors with unique stories to feature in the latest edition. In my first year as editor, I interviewed 21 debut authors for the 2018 book. And while you’ll have to pick up the latest copy of the book when it pubs in just a couple of weeks, I wanted to share a sneak peak of the kinds of authors you’ll be seeing this year.

This post is taken directly from Ellie Terry’s interview in CWIM 2018. She’s one of 8 middle-grade authors to be interviewed, to go along with 13 picture book and young adult authors. QUICK TAKE: Forget Me Not is a dual-POV, verse novel about a girl named Calliope who tries to hide her Tourette syndrome from her new school, while trying to convince her mother not to move them yet again, especially after she meets Jinsong—the boy next door—who happens to be the school’s popular student body president.

WRITES FROM: St. George, UT.

PRE-BOOK: I’ve worked at two different chiropractor’s offices (as a receptionist), a sourdough pizza joint, a family fun center, and a jewelry store. I was also a cheerleading coach and a baton twirling coach. Now I just write.

TIME FRAME: I started drafting Forget Me Not in August 2013. It took about six months to get that first draft down and then another six months to revise it. In August 2014 I entered a contest called Pitch Wars and was chosen to be mentored by Joy McCullough-Carranza. I spent two intense months cutting out an entire POV and then I began querying agents with the manuscript.

ENTER THE AGENT: In January 2015, I queried Steven Chudney. After he read the manuscript, we spoke on the phone and he gave me a lot of insights and suggestions on how to improve the plot and characters. I spent six weeks deleting and re-writing the last quarter of the novel, among other things, and I must have done a good job, because Steven emailed four days after I sent it with an offer of representation.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: That there would be so much waiting. It was a long road to signing with an agent (eleven years of querying five middle-grade novels and forty picture books) but my debut sold very quickly (two-and-a-half weeks). So I assumed that once I had a book deal, things would just speed up! The truth is, you’re always waiting on something. Hearing back from an agent, waiting on edit notes from your editor, waiting to see the draft of the cover, etc. It’s best to sit back and enjoy the journey (and always be working on the next project, or two.)

WHAT I DID RIGHT: Connecting with other authors. Being able to talk to other debut authors as well as those further in their publishing journey proved to be invaluable for me.

WHAT I WISH I WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY: Worried less. There are so many things in publishing that are out of an author’s control, and therefore provide plenty of opportunity for anxiety issues to grow. I wish I would have learned earlier that it’s best to focus on the one thing I do have control over: writing the best stories I can.

PLATFORM: I hang out on Facebook and Twitter, mostly. There aren’t a whole lot of books for the middle-grade market that deal with characters who have Tourette syndrome. My platform is unique in that my debut novel deals with Tourette syndrome and I myself am diagnosed with the condition.

ADVICE FOR WRITERS: Read. Join a critique group. Read. Never give up. Read. Write lots of stories. Read. Take yourself seriously and those around you will follow suit. Read. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Also … read.

NEXT UP: I am currently working on two MG projects—both verse novels—and both boy main characters, so we’ll see how that goes!

An Undertale fanfic

Chapter 3: slow mornings

Summary: After a night of chaos, you can't wait for a quiet day in. and then papyrus shows up. Something tells you "quiet" might not happen.

You sipped the water from your cup slowly. you would've had coffee any other day, but given your current situation, you didn't wanna take the risk of annoying your guts; even if the knife didn't peirce any organs. You scrolled mindlessly through undernet, trying to avoid that one creep's posts. What was his name? James? Jerry? Whatever his name was, he gave you the creeps.

"hey sunshine." You turn to your left, and see sans nuzzling your shoulder, holding onto your arm. "Hey, cutie" you say playfully, using your other arm to stroke his head. He had been extra clingy all morning, so you made sure to plant a kiss on his forehead. "y' been taking it easy so far Y/N?" You chuckled. "Yeah. Thanks for checking in, sweetie." You wrap your arms around him, nuzzling his forehead.

You hear your phone go off, which gets your attention. With your left arm still around sans, you check your phone with your right. It's a text from papyrus. "Huh, papyrus just sent me a text." You and sans look at your phone as you open it.

{HELLO HUMAN Y/N! ASGORE'S CLONE HAS INFORMED ME THAT A NOT-VERY-NICE HUMAN HAS CAUSED YOU HARM.}

Sans' eyelights look away from the glowing screen. "Heh, 'not very nice'..." He sounded more serious than usual, but quickly snapped back to his usual attitude once you started to read the next text.

{DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU ARE MY FRIEND, AND MY BROTHER'S DATEMATE, I WILL BE HEADING TO YOU AND SANS' APPARTMENT RIGHT AWAY TO ASSIST YOU!! -THE GREAT PAPYRUS}

"heh, looks like we're gonna have company." Sans poked your cheek. But you were still hesitant. "Sans, I'll be fine, I'll text him not to-" sans interrupted you with a cheeky smile. "and you think he'll listen? he's just making sure you aren't working yourself to the BONE." "Oh shush, you numbskull." You chuckled as you sent a text to papyrus thanking him.

Not even a couple minutes later, the doorbell rang. "There's no way that's papyrus." You say, astonished. "welp, you'd be suprised." Responds sans, lazily shrugging as shortcuts to the door. You watch from the dining table as sans opens the door, and suprise: It's papyrus!

"HELLO THERE SANS! AND HELLO THERE, Y/N!" Says papyrus, in his usual cheey tone. "hey paps." Sans said, as he gestured papyrus to walk in; and papyrus did, closing the door behind him. "How'd you get here so fast?" You ask, tilting your head, curiously. "WELL, I RAN." papyrus said in an almost blunt tone; sitting down at the table where you were sitting, along with sans. "OF COURSE, I BROUGHT SOME SUPPLIES TO HELP QUICKEN YOUR RECOVERY!" He gave you a small bag full of things to help ease pain, tninhs to relax wih, and more. "Thanks a ton, Papyrus!" you say, his boundless positivity making you smile.

"wait, y/n, don't you mean..." Sans spoke up, causing everyone's attention to go to him. " 'Thanks a skele-ton'? " That causes you to snort and start laughing, much to papyrus' frustration "NO!! DO NOT ENCOURAGE HIS BEHAVIOR!!" "C'mon! Give him some more credit! Thay one really tickled my funny bone!" You say, turning to sans with a cheeky grin on your face. "NYEEHHH" papyrus shouts, angrier. "c'mon paps, that was a good one. you could join us, y'know. it could be a..." papyrus interjects. "SANS, NO." But sans continues anyway. "joint effort?"

Papyrus nyehs in rage. "NYEEHHHH!!! OF COURSE THE MOST PUN-FILLED MONSTER AND THE MOST PUN-FILLED HUMAN ON THE PLANET HAD TO MEET!!" "I think you should be easier on him. After all, he's your... femur-ly." You say, winking. "heh. That was a good one." Sans said. Papyrus facepalmed "I HATE YOU BOTH." Papyrus' reactions never fail to make you laugh, and this was no exception.

You would've kept laughing, if it weren't for the sharp pain in yor side. You winced. "OH! ARE YOU OKAY?" Papyrus said, concerned. "Y-yeah, just laughed too hard..." "oh stars, sorry..." sans says, rubbing the back of his head. You speak up. "Don't worry about it. I don't have a bone to pick with you." You laugh at your own joke, with sans laughing along too. Papyrus sighs heavily. "WELL, I'M GLAD TO SEE YOU'RE OKAY." Sans spoke quietly. "same here."

Chapter 2: Late Night struggles

Summary: After the incident, you and sans try to get a good night's sleep. However, things never go as planned when sans is (Inspired by @/whyiswingdingsafont)

You wrapped yourself around sans, nuzzling the back of his neck lovingly. You'd been failing to sleep for a while, but now you finally felt yourself falling asleep. But then, you could've sworn you heard something. Then you hear it again. It sounded a little high-pitched, but quiet. There is it again. What could it be? You sit up just enough to get a better look at your bonefriend, and you realise that he's what's causing the noise. What could be going on?

As you listen closer, you realise he's whimpering, he looks scared, despite being asleep. This was nothing like his normal nightmares, so you were on edge. You slowly rub your hand up and down his arm in an attempt to soothe him. Pulling him closer, you whisper sweet nothings.

You hear him wake from his slumber, but only a little. He curls up into a ball, snuggling closer to you. As you continue to spoon him, a small whimper escapes his mouth again. "p...please..." he mutters. You hold him close, as his nightmare seems to get worse. You pause for a moment, wondering if you should wake him up before it gets too bad...

but he suddenly jolts up, as tears come to his eyes. "don't hurt them too!" he yells. "Honey...?" You whisper, concerned. Sans turns around, and when he sees you, he tries laughing it off. "heheh... just a bit of a bad dream, sorry if i scared-" But you weren't having any of that. You pulled him close, carresing his back with one hand, and wiping his tears with your other.

You spoke. "Honey, please don't laugh this off... If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here." Sans nuzzled into your shoulder. "h-hey here, i'm sans" he chuckled at his own joke. "Sans, I'm being serious, I wanna help you..." Sans chuckles again and looks at you. "Stars, you're amazing. I'd be pretty bone-ly without ya'." You can't help but laugh at that one.

"Sans?" "yeah, sunshine?" You think, before speaking again. "Was the nightmare about... what happened?" Sans looks off, before snuggling into you more, resting his chin on your shoulder. "yeah. i think so, at least." You rest your hand on the wound that was barely starting to heal up, but take it off a moment after. Sans continues "don't worry. i'm fine now." "Do you wanna talk about it?" You asked. "nah, not really." He responded, lazily.

Suddenly, a 'bad' idea enters your head. "Hey, sans?" "mhm?" You pull sans back a bit, and kiss him. Sadly, the kiss is a tiny bit one-sided, on account of sans not having lips. But kissing his teeth is a good substitute nonetheless. You back out of the kiss for a moment, and see sans blushing so hard he glows. Literally. Between his eyelights and his blush, he's basically a lamp. Oh stars, he looks so cute like this; you can't help but freeze up.

Sans, like the cheeky little skeleton he is, decides to take this opportunity to get you right back; so he kisses you right back! Well, I say kiss, but like before, sans still doesn't have lips, so he has to settle for pressing his teeth agsinst your lips. This gets a pretty good blush out of you, but you push back, pinning him onto the bed with a smirk creeping scross your face. "heh, wow, i gotta be honest here; i was NOT expectin' that." You laugh a bit. "I know, right? I'm FULL of suprises." For a moment, you both forget the events that lead you both here.

...Until the sharp pain in your side kicks in. You wince a little. sans notices. "woah woah woah, are you okay?" "Y-yeah... I think that little scratch is acting up again..." sans snorts a little. "pfft... 'little scratch'?" You expertly roll back onto your side, next to sans. "'Tis but a scratch~" Sans laughs it off "heheheh. want me to grab you some painkillers?" You smile sweetly "Yes please." Sans stands up and goes to get the pankillers. While he goes downstairs, you notice the pain steadily getting worse and worse. "Listen here you dramatic lil' butthead. I know we got stabbed, but i think you're being a little extra."

Sans walks back in through the door, medicine bottle in hand. You sigh with relief "Perfect timing, baby. Now gimme the bottle so i can down the whole thing." Sans laughs. "i'm not sure that's the best idea. That maybe painful, but if we want the medicine cabinet to stay painFULL, then maybe you shouldn't." You jokingly grumble "c'mon bb gimme the gooood shit~" "babe no" "Babe YESSS-" you are suddenly reminded of the sharp pain in your side.

"in all seriousness babe, it says you're only meant to have like, 3 at most." He sits next to you and hands you the bottle. You take three lime-flavored pills ans eat them, before handing the bottle back to sans. "Thanks a lot." "no problem, babe." Sans nuzzles into your shoulder. "now, how about we actually sleep?" You sigh playfully

"Alright, fine." You pull sans on top of you and you both soon fall asleep.
