"No, kid. No more work tonight. You and me are going home."

Malcolm's excitement dimmed, but only briefly.

"Can Dani come with us?"

"No, son. She can't." Gil looked back over at Dani, gaze hardening once more. "Dani has a lot of work to do with JT tonight."

A surprised look overtook the detective's face. "I am?"

"Yes, you are. You and JT will be taking charge of this case until me and Malcolm are able to return. But don't think for even a second that we're through with this conversation, Detective Powell. Am I understood?"

Dani's posture straightened and she nodded. "Yes, sir. Loud and clear."

"Good. Help me get Malcolm to outside, then get to it, alright?"

"Yeah, of course. You got it, boss."

"I want Dani t'come home with us too, dad. Please? Pretty please?" Malcolm begged as Gil and Dani each took hold of his arms and began walking him out.

Before Gil could respond, however, Dani spoke.

"As much as I would love to, kiddo, your dad's right. I need to stay back and help JT. I'll give you a call tomorrow morning, though, okay?"

"You promise?" Malcolm gazed up at her, puppy-dog expression on full display.

She smiled warmly at him. "I promise."

Malcolm grinned right back at her.

After they made it outside and said their goodbyes, Gil herded Malcolm off to his car. Before they could go back to Gil's place, however, they had to stop by Malcolm's loft to pick up his blanket. Fortunately, the club wasn't far from there, so they would be back on the road to Gil's in no time.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose toward $40,000 during the New York trading day. The price rise offset a brief period of selling immediately after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised its policy interest rate by a half-percentage point, its biggest hike since 2000.

The Fed also approved plans to start reducing its bond portfolio, which will ease monetary stimulus that has contributed to the rise in speculative assets, including stocks and cryptos.

The Federal Open Market Committee, which sets interest rates, stated that ongoing rate increases within the target range will be appropriate, which suggests another hike could occur at the Fed's meeting next month, albeit likely below 0.75 percentage points as some traders expected.

Rising rates typically precede slowing economic growth, which could weigh on asset prices. Still, during a press conference on Wednesday, Federal Reserve ChairJerome Powell stated that the U.S. economy remains very strong and could handle rising interest rates.

Most cryptocurrencies traded higher over the past 24 hours, tracking moves in stocks. Meanwhile, gold ticked higher as the U.S. dollar declined.

Embracing risk over the short term

The bitcoin Fear & Greed Index ticked lower into "extreme fear" territory, indicating a lower appetite for risk among crypto traders.

The index has remained in "fear" territory over the past few months, marking a decisive shift in "extreme greed" sentiment in November of last year.

An increase in trader sentiment would require a rise in BTC's price, with a gradual increase in trading volume and volatility. Generally, high buying volumes in a positive market on a daily basis indicate bullish activity, according to Alternative.me, which constructs the index.

Bitcoin's dominance, or BTC's market capitalization relative to the total crypto market cap, accounts for 10% of the Fear & Greed Index.

BTC is outperforming alternative cryptos (altcoins) so far this year, but gave up some of its lead in the past few days. That could point to improving sentiment among traders over the short term, especially as stocks and cryptos enter a seasonally strong period.

La W Series arrancará el 3 de mayo de 2019 en el circuito de Hockenheim como carrera soporte del DTM. "Más de 100 chicas de 30 países han intentado entrar en la categoría, de la cual ha salido una lista de 55 posibles candidatas. Estamos encantados, pero no sorprendidos por la respuesta. Incluso actualmente hay un enorme desequilibrio de género en el automovilismo y la W Series está dando el primer paso para corregir eso. On International Women’s Day, This Powerful Photo Series Shows the Beauty in All Women

In honor of International Women’s Day, designer Mara Hoffman collaborated with creative and social-activist agency Art Not War and photographer Amber Mahoney to create a special portrait series of 25 feminists, activists, and artists whose causes range far and wide but who unite on their fierce advocacy for justice, equality, and love for all.

The result is a gorgeous photo series that depicts these strong, independent women in a raw form. Notable participants include Cleo Wade, the feminist poet dubbed the “millennial Oprah,” and Domino Kirke (one-third of the Kirke sisters trio and newly wed to actor Penn Badgley). The advocacy work of the 25 featured women spans subjects relating to civil rights, domestic violence, trans rights, human trafficking, and reproductive rights, among many others

The series was shot over the course of five days in New York City. Using little production and natural light, the women were portrayed as authentically as possible. All wore clothes from Hoffman’s Spring 2017 collection (which is available now).

This isn’t the first time Hoffman has opened up her fashion brand as a megaphone for a broader political dialogue. In February, for her Fall/Winter 2017 show during New York Fashion Week, Hoffman tapped the four national co-chairs of the historic Women’s March to speak at her show, ditching the traditional runway for a mix of models and interpretive dancers of diverse races, ages, and gender identities.

The message behind this project is to bring awareness to the women’s social activism and their causes, but above all to strike up a conversation and connect women across the globe of all ethnicities and backgrounds with hopes of inciting action and change for women’s issues.
