I stopped updating my tumblr app in October, because I didn’t want the icon changing; I find apps on my phone based primarily on color and secondarily on shape. Then they introduced Tumblr Live and I had strong motivation not to update, because then it just wouldn’t appear on my app. 

And then the above happened, and I cracked up laughing, because now my strategy of not updating has begun to prevent me from seeing ads :D 

I’ve updated now, simply because it was also happening on friends’ posts and anyway you should keep your apps up to date for security reasons, but it gave me a good chuckle.

lawnchair as an app literally only exists because i was shocked no one had made an android launcher with the "lawnchair" (say it out loud) pun as a name yet (it is basically just called "launcher launcher"), so i made the worst app ever, and then out of boredom copied every pixel launcher feature and it somehow blew up over night because some howto news website wrote about it, so it became my main project for a few years (with a very cool and slowly growing team of other volunteers) until i burned out and started doing some other stuff like uuuh searching for confidential documents, and thats how we're here now

◆ Elemental Skill: The Named Moment

◇ Summons forth the "All-Fire Armaments" and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. Tap to have "All-Fire Armaments" manifest into the Ring of Searing Radiance. The Ring follows the current active character and attacks nearby opponents at intervals, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG. Hold to have "All-Fire Armaments" manifest as a Flamestrider, further improving Mavuika's terrain-crossing abilities. Mavuika's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will also deal Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG. While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, tapping the Elemental Skill can switch the All-Fire Armaments' form.

◆ Elemental Burst: Hour of Burning Skies

◇ Mavuika's Elemental Burst is not reliant on Elemental Energy, but instead on "Fighting Spirit." When party characters consume Nightsoul points or their Normal Attacks hit opponents, Mavuika will gain Fighting Spirit. When Mavuika accumulates a certain amount of Fighting Spirit, she can consume it all to unleash her Elemental Burst.

◇ After Mavuika activates her Elemental Burst, she summons the "All-Fire Armaments" Flamestrider and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. She will execute a powerful Sunfell Slice on enemies, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Pyro DMG. While in the special state, Mavuika's actions no longer consume Nightsoul points, and during this time, Sunfell Slice, the Flamestrider mode's Normal and Charged Attacks deal increased DMG based on the amount of "Fighting Spirit" consumed.

5-Star Character "Obsidian Opalstar" Citlali (Cryo)

◇ Vision: Cryo

◇ Weapon: Catalyst

◇ The great shaman from the Masters of the Night-Wind, the universally-revered Granny Itztli.

◆ Elemental Skill: Dawnfrost Darkstar

◇ Citlali activates her Opal Shield and summons Itzpapa, gaining Nightsoul points and entering the Nightsoul's Blessing state. When Citlali's Nightsoul points exceed a certain amount, Itzpapa will continuously consume Nightsoul points to summon a Frostfall Storm that will attack enemies within range, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Cryo DMG.

◇ After unlocking the Passive Talent "Itzpapalotl's Star Garments," Citlali will recover a set amount of Nightsoul points whenever a nearby party member triggers a "Nightsoul Burst."

◆ Elemental Burst: Edict of Entwined Splendor

◇ Citlali hurls an icy storm at the area in front of her, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Cryo DMG. This also summons a Spiritvessel Skull near enemies that explodes after a period of time and restores a set amount of Nightsoul points to herself.

◇ A rattan weaver from Chenyu Vale. Clear-minded and well-tempered, she is as lively as a mountain spring.

◆ Elemental Skill: Swallow-Wisp Pinion Dance

◇ Lan Yan summons a Swallow-Wisp Shield, dashes forward and, upon making contact with her target, will leap back into the air. While in mid-air, pressing her Elemental Skill again or pressing Normal Attack will cause Lan Yan to hurl her Feathermoon Rings at an opponent, and they will spin between nearby opponents upon hit, dealing Anemo DMG.

◆ Elemental Burst: Lustrous Moonrise

◇ Creates a Feathermoon Swallow Array, pulling in nearby opponents and objects and dealing multiple instances of AoE Anemo DMG.

◆ Passive Talent: Four Sealing Divination Charms

◇ When her Elemental Skill dash hits an opponent, the Swallow-Wisp Shield and Feathermoon Rings will undergo an Elemental Absorption depending on the elements they come into contact with.

Gain the "Scorching Brilliance" effect when using an Elemental Skill or Burst: CRIT DMG increased by 20% and ATK increased by 28% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every 10s. While a "Scorching Brilliance" instance is active, its duration is increased by 2s after Normal or Charged attacks deal Elemental DMG. This effect can trigger once every second, and the max duration increase is 6s. Additionally, when the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, "Scorching Brilliance" effects are increased by 75%, and its duration will not count down when the equipping character is off-field.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 5-star weapon A Thousand Blazing Suns (Claymore) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

Starcaller's Watch (5-Star Catalyst)

Increases Elemental Mastery by 100. Gain the "Mirror of Night" effect within 15s after the equipping character creates a shield: The current active party member deals 28% increased DMG to nearby opponents. You can gain the "Mirror of Night" effect once every 14s.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 5-star weapon Starcaller's Watch (Catalyst) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

III. New Outfits

Hu Tao: Cherries Snow-Laden

◇ Hu Tao's outfit. Styled in a palette lighter than the dark ceremonial wear favored by the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, the dress is a special gift from her good friend Xiangling. The sunglasses, for their part, are from Hu Tao's personal collection.

◆ After the Version 5.3 update to 2025/02/10 03:59, Hu Tao's outfit "Cherries Snow-Laden" will be available for purchase in the Character Outfit Shop at a limited-time discount! During the discount period, the price of the outfit is 1,350 Genesis Crystals. The price will revert to 1,680 Genesis Crystals after the limited-time discount ends. The outfit can only be purchased once.

Xiangling: New Year's Cheer

◇ Xiangling's outfit. The red coat glows like a stove amidst cold winds, topped with a hat that, at Hu Tao's suggestion, took inspiration from Guoba's appearance — a design that's right up Xiangling's alley.

◆ During Version 5.3, Travelers can obtain Xiangling's outfit "New Year's Cheer" for free by participating in the limited-time "Springtime Charms" event.

V. New Enemies

Lord of Eroded Primal Fire

◇ A fell dragon, congealed from the power of pitch-black darkness.

Some of its attacks can cause stackable "Attrition" that, after a time, will cause your active character to lose HP. During combat, the Lord of Eroded Primal Fire will grant itself a Void Ward. At this time, use a certain number of elemental attacks to break the Ward, which will cause it to enter a confused state. Nightsoul-aligned elemental attacks will break the Ward more effectively.

2. Gameplay Rules: Repertoire of Myriad Melodies contains a library of music scores that can be used for performances. Once you've activated Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, you can exchange scores as well as collect and play music created by other players.

〓Adjustments & Optimizations〓

● Quests

Adds the function to lower the difficulty of some Domains in Archon Quests. This can be activated when all characters in the current party are defeated or when you exit the Domain (before this update, this feature was only available when challenging powerful opponents).

● Open World

After the version update, after obtaining rewards from Bosses consuming 40 Original Resin, you no longer have to teleport away and wait for the Boss to respawn. Bosses will respawn right away in their original location.

Adds a new Teleport Waypoint to the Tezcatepetonco Range in Natlan due to the addition of the new Boss (The number of unlocked Teleport Waypoints required to complete the achievement "Scaling the Scorching Sacred Mountain (II)" has also been adjusted. For Travelers who have already completed this achievement, after the update, the achievement completion status will remain unchanged).

Adjusts the Pyroculus and Wind Current height in one location in Natlan's Ochkanatlan area, allowing for a smoother experience when attempting the corresponding challenge.

● Artifacts

The "Artifact Salvage" function will generate Sanctifying Essence and Sanctifying Unction in a ratio of 1:4 (the total Artifact EXP generated remains the same).

After the version update, the "Character > Artifact" interface will highlight recommended Artifact Affixes for the current character (data is sourced from recently active players).

In the "Artifact > Enhance" interface and when comparing Artifacts in the "Character > Artifact" interface, you will be able to see the number of times each Minor Affix has been enhanced.

Adds a shortcut to navigate to the corresponding Domains of Blessing when using the "Source" feature for Artifact sets in the "Character > Artifacts > Recommended Sets" interface.

You are not alone by the way , we all are stuck in this loop of consuming regretting and further consuming social media and I get it it so fun but we have to remember our goals and get back to work but frankly speaking it is near to impossible to do so and I get it so I decided to help by giving my tips. Earlier I used to have screen times of 7 to 8 hours now it is just 3 to 2 and still I accept I waste time but I did do some stuff to reduce my screen time😓

Here are the tips :

1. Remove colors - colors are the one that attract you to open a app (I am not lying I have scientific backing comment to know about it ) so remove app colors by using launcher in android or a icon changer in iOS.

2.Location - so when you are arranging your app drawer or reorganizing home page put your social media out of reach like it should be harder to reach it , it help because we all are lazy (don’t lie saying you are not lazy accept reality😭) and for iOS I recommend putting it is hidden folder as it requires you enter password (turn of Face ID for unlocking hidden folder)

3. Set a wallpaper that reminds your goal such are your dream stuff or like a vision board it should help you to back track !

4. If none work try app blocker and screen time recorder it help as it adds further hindrance in opening your addicting time consumer .

5.Have a buddy who will keep nagging you not to watch your phone (best work is done by sibling majorly younger one) they should keep you on track even parents would work just so one to remind you not to watch your phone.

This has been around for a few months, but I'm only just hearing about it. Artic Base for homebrew 3ds lets your physical 3ds connect wirelessly to a modified version of the Citra 3ds emulator (available for android, linux, mac, and windows), so that the emulator can read game files from the 3ds and write save files back to it. You are emulating the game - contrary to some youtube videos you are NOT streaming the game from the 3ds - but all the files are taken from and go back to the 3ds, so there's no piracy involved and no need to find or download roms. Unless the games on your 3ds are themselves pirated, in which case shame on you you naughty child!

This allows a switch-like experience where you can play a game portably on your 3ds, then when you get home boot up the same game and the same save file to play on a bigger screen in higher resolution with a more comfortable controller via citra, saving your game back to the 3ds. It also lets you take advantage of Citra's ability to play multiplayer online even though the 3ds servers are down by emulating a local connection over the internet. It's also an easy option to stream or record gameplay if you're into that without the trouble of installing a capture card mod onto your 3ds.

Now, granted, this was all already possible by copying save files back and forth from your 3ds memory card to your computer, but to do that you still had to go through the bother of setting up citra and getting your game files on there - either by finding roms or by dumping the files yourself. That could be a pretty significant hassle, but Artic base handles it all for you.

There is a downside - every time you load or save anything in your game, that data has to be transfered between your 3ds and Citra over wifi, which does add a delay and some slowdown whenever that's happening. But most of the time gameplay runs very smoothly.

Anyway, Artic Base requires a modded 3ds. Instructions can be found HERE. The process isn't very difficult, but read the directions carefully and take your time, as there's always a risk of breaking a device when installing custom firmware if you mess something up. Don't rely on video guides for this process! if the video is out of date, it might give you instructions that are no longer correct for the current methods and files!

Even if you're not interested in Citra, modding adds so much utility to the 3ds that you really should look into it if you have one. Button remapping, using larger memory cards (I wouldn't go over 128gigs), backing up save files, backing up entire games so you don't lose access to them if the aging cartridges go bad, even community ports of entire games like Doom or Off or Fallout, access to the pretendo network which is slowly rebuilding online functionality for 3ds and wii, the ability to stream from your computer to your 3ds, access to h-shop to download game updates and patches no longer available from nintendo after the e-shop's closure, and so much more.

Anyway, once you have a modded 3ds, Artic Base can be found on the Universal Updater app. I prefer the .cia version over the .3dsx version, so you don't have to go through Homebrew Launcher every time you want to use it. If you want to install it manually instead, it can be found HERE.

JoiPlay: A Way to Play Visual Novels on Android?

My laptop is skating on thin ice right now, and I don't want to risk starting something I can't finish, or worse, losing all the progress I made using it. So, in my search for android-friendly mobile visual novels, I have come across an app that may fulfill my needs.

This is a personal process/review post, and I am not well versed in making sure software in general is safe before I download it. Please use caution if you intend to use this app.

Some notes:

JoiPlay is a game launcher available for android devices. Currently, I have downloaded Blooming Panic, seekL, and Colored Gaze to play on my Samsung phone.

My phone has an extract function for zip files, making this step painless. The setup for the app is simple, as was importing the games. What's next on the agenda is trying it out. 🤞🏾

It is made to run Ren'Py, RPG Maker XP/VX/VX Ace/MV/MZ, TyranoBuilder, Construct 2&3, Flash and HTML5 based games.

It doesn't emulate any operating systems, like Windows, so games that depend on specific files associated with them won't work.

The compatibility rate for RPG Maker games is 70%, but for all other game types, it's 90%.

The main website has a link to install the app via Google Play, but it seems to have been taken down.
