I'm having a hard time justifying staying with Samsung when I've run into issues and hiccups (user error on my part) when I could make it potentially easier on myself by switching brands.

I changed to Iphone once when I was 14 because my dad belived it was a good phone. This phone died 5 years in. I didn't break anything that thing fell once. It just became this obsolete thing with which it was hard to do anything, like come on Iphone users, this shit takes 5 minutes to turn ON. Fuck that.

I have this samsung from whomst I am typing right now.

This bad bitch has been with me and lives well and doesn't ask me to spend a whole salary on it. I say I am winning. I had it since I was 18. I'd say we doing great.

Stop consumming a product to be a peacock to impress others. When you buy an Iphone you just confirm to everybody that you are only 2 things :

1 : Really rich. Because repairing this phone cost as much as buying a new one. So if you have one that means you have money to spend on anything else and can still buy other supplies.

2 : You are a "M'as tu vu" kind of person. Basically you're like "Oooh look at me I have expensive things. I can buy expensive things ooooh" meanwhile you still didn't buy new socks since High School.

And let me tell you people will ALWAYS assume the latter. Nobody stops to look at the phone nowadays. We look at your car, how big the parent's house is, how big your house is (if you do not live with your parents, no shame) , how you dress, how you talk, how you keep yourself clean, the way you write to important people.

People will never stop to just look at your phone. It is very shallow and stupid to just someone on ONE single thing, it doesn't exist anymore. You should judge people for the whole package.

like yes cis male linux-fans can be annoying (often in an autism way btw) but as someone who has spent years among them they are on average less sexist than your average man. also a lot of us linux users are genderqueer poople. the trans women in STEM you've heard about? most of them are linux users as well, if they don't use unix or more obscure systems.

the techbros you hate? they don't use linux, they use windows and mac. linux is overwhelmingly non-commercial, and techbros are hyper-neoliberal. most of linux is FOSS (free & open source software)

linux comes from the same ideological corner as firefox. if you think firefox is great but think linux is nothing more than a funny joke you need to look in the fucking mirror. and at your own computer because if you use windows you'll have a lot of anti-features that you take for granted. if you made the switch to linux it would be like exhaling the breath you didn't know you were holding for years. not saying that you have to, just, most people don't even consider making their own lives easier. you know?
