You whimpered as the S.C.R.E.A.M unit pinned you down. It's gears whirling and whining as it ground into you. It was strange in how it was like it was seeking gratification in a sexual way. Rubbing where it's dick would be against the curve of your ass. You clenched your fist, teeth gritted heavily, the scent of fresh oil you had just applied to it's joints in the air of the workshop. This must've been some sick joke someone was playing on you. Maybe some kind of hazing ritual to welcome the new technician.

"You got a boyfriend?" The bot seemed to tease. It's icy mechanical hand pressing against your throat pulling you flush against it's cold frame. The coveralls you wore doing very little to protect you. You could feel a scream building in your throat as none of this made sense. It had walked in of it's own free will, or at least the equivalent of free will for a android, requesting maintenance and when you had finished diagnosis everything was clear; No anomalies, not even signs of code tampering, yet when the bot was turned back on it began behaving unnaturally. All you knew for sure is If you made it out of this alive you will be looking through its code piece by piece to find out who tampered with your unit. Surely there would be a digital signature in there. Something to indicate who last touched the code.

"Stop!" You screamed out feeling it's other hand beginning to palm the front of your pants, "initiate command slash S!" The kill phrase coming out desperate the bolder it got practically crushing you against the table; it's hips picking up speed. Before stuttering to a stop, grip loosening just enough for you to slide out; breathing heavily you clutched your chest looking up at the machine that had you caged just moment ago. The fact that it didn't halt right away felt a bit unnerving but the nightmare was over. Clawing at the rough sandpaper like carpet you moved into the light of your dimly lit office. It felt like an eternity as you begged yourself to calm down long enough to plug in the diagnostic computer.

Your eyes shut tightly, you count backwards from ten, listening to the clicks and beeps as it dug whatever info it could, name after name appearing on the screen before you. The unit behaved too purposely to be a true malfunction. Your eyes darting across the screen, the only name catching your eye was that of Danny Johnson. You had to think on why that name sounded familiar despite no one currently working in your shop with that name. Who was Danny? Maybe it was a placeholder name?

It wouldn't be till later that you'd realize Danny was the name of the technician who was killed by a S.C.R.E.A.M unit a year earlier, that in of itself would explain the name, thinking maybe someone in your shop got ahold of his old login information to prank you... It wasn't unusual for the company to not care about removing the permissions of the dead. At least that was until discovering that Danny was the only deceased employee to have their profile completely removed from the system. Even his past work history and general employee file was completely null, as if he never existed. Not even old logs were accessible.

You know he was real the older employees talked about how sweet he was, how he could charm the pants off just about anyone. Well loved and respected, but he didn't exist according to the system. So how the hell did someone use Danny Johnson's information to modify code? Danny doesn't have authorization. Danny shouldn't be able to modify code. Danny technically doesn't exist. So why does it say "Danny wants you"?

Snapchat?

Snapchat is an American multimedia instant messaging app and service developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the principal features of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are usually only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. The app has evolved from originally focusing on person-to-person photo sharing to presently featuring users' "Stories" of 24 hours of chronological content, along with "Discover", letting brands show ad-supported short-form content. It also allows users to keep photos in the "my eyes only" which lets them keep their photos in a password-protected space. It has also reportedly incorporated limited use of end-to-end encryption, with plans to broaden its use in the future.

Snapchat was created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown,[7] former students at Stanford University. It has become known for representing a new, mobile-first direction for social media, and places significant emphasis on users interacting with virtual stickers and augmented reality objects. As of July 2021, Snapchat had 293 million daily active users, a 23% growth over a year.[8] On average more than four billion Snaps are sent each day.[9] Snapchat is popular among the younger generations, particularly those below the age of 16, leading to many privacy concerns for parents.

According to documents and deposition statements, Reggie Brown brought the idea for a disappearing pictures application to Evan Spiegel because Spiegel had prior business experience. Brown and Spiegel then pulled in Bobby Murphy, who had experience coding. The three worked closely together for several months and launched Snapchat as "Picaboo" on the iOS operating system on July 8, 2011.[10][11] Reggie Brown was ousted from the company months after it was launched.[12][13]

The app was relaunched as Snapchat in September 2011, and the team focused on usability and technical aspects, rather than branding efforts.[14] One exception was the decision to keep a mascot designed by Brown, "Ghostface Chillah", named after Ghostface Killah of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan.[14]

On May 8, 2012, Reggie Brown sent an email to Evan Spiegel during their senior year at Stanford, in which he offered to re-negotiate his equitable share regarding ownership of the company. Lawyers for Snapchat responded by insisting that he had never had any creative connection to the product. The attorneys also accused Brown of committing fraud against Spiegel and Murphy by falsely claiming to be a product inventor. On behalf of their clients, the law firm concluded that Reggie Brown had made no contributions of value or worth, and was therefore entitled to a share of nothing.[15][16] In September 2014, Brown settled with Spiegel and Murphy for $157.5 million[17] and was credited as one of the original authors of Snapchat.[7][18][19]

In their first blog post, dated May 9, 2012, CEO Evan Spiegel described the company's mission: "Snapchat isn’t about capturing the traditional Kodak moment. It’s about communicating with the full range of human emotion—not just what appears to be pretty or perfect."[20] He presented Snapchat as the solution to stresses caused by the longevity of personal information on social media, evidenced by "emergency detagging of Facebook photos before job interviews and photoshopping blemishes out of candid shots before they hit the internet.

As of May 2012, 25 Snapchat images were being sent per second[22] and, as of November 2012, users had shared over one billion photos on the Snapchat iOS app, with 20 million photos being shared per day.[22][23] That same month, Spiegel cited problems with user base scalability as the reason why Snapchat was experiencing some difficulties delivering its images, known as "snaps", in real time.[22] Snapchat was released as an Android app on October 29, 2012.[22]

In June 2013, Snapchat version 5.0, dubbed "Banquo", was released for iOS. The updated version introduced several speed and design enhancements, including swipe navigation, double-tap to reply, an improved friend finder, and in-app profiles.[24] The name is a reference to the ghostly hero from Shakespeare's Macbeth, a character in the play who is ultimately seen to be victorious over evil.[25] Also in June 2013, Snapchat introduced Snapkidz for users under 13 years of age. Snapkidz was part of the original Snapchat application and was activated when the user provided a date of birth to verify his/her age. Snapkidz allowed children to take snaps and draw on them, but they could not send snaps to other users and could only save snaps locally on the device being used.[26]

According to Snapchat's published statistics, as of May 2015, the app's users were sending 2 billion videos per day, reaching 6 billion by November.[27] By 2016, Snapchat had hit 10 billion daily video views.[28] In May 2016, Snapchat raised $1.81 billion in equity offering, suggesting strong investor interest in the company.[29] By May 31, 2016, the app had almost 10 million daily active users in the United Kingdom.[30] In February 2017, Snapchat had 160 million daily active users,[31][32] growing to 166 million in May.[33][34]

Investel Capital Corp., a Canadian company, sued Snapchat for infringement on its geofiltering patent in 2016.[35][36] They were seeking "monetary compensation and an order that would prohibit California-based Snapchat from infringing on its patent in the future."

In September 2016, Snapchat Inc. was renamed Snap Inc. to coincide with the introduction of the company's first hardware product, Spectacles—smartglasses with a built-in camera that can record 10 seconds of video at a time.[38] On February 20, 2017, Spectacles became available for purchase online.[39]

Snapchat announced a redesign in November 2017,[40] which proved controversial with many of its followers. CNBC's Ingrid Angulo listed some of the reasons why many disliked the update, citing that sending a snap and re-watching stories was more complicated, stories and incoming snaps were now listed on the same page, and that the Discover page now included featured and sponsored content.[41] A tweet sent by Kylie Jenner in February 2018, which criticized the redesign of the Snapchat app,[42] reportedly caused Snap Inc. to lose more than $1.3 billion in market value.[43][44] Over 1.2 million people signed a Change.org petition asking the company to remove the new app update.[45]

In December 2019, App Annie announced Snapchat to be the 5th most downloaded mobile app of the decade. The data includes figures for iOS downloads starting from 2010 and Android downloads starting from 2012.[46] Snapchat acquired AI Factory, a computer vision startup, in January 2020 to give a boost to its video capabilities.[47]

In November 2020, Snapchat announced it would pay a total of $1 million a day to users who post viral videos. The company has not stated the criteria for a video to be considered viral or how many people the payout would be split between. The promotion, called Snapchat Spotlight, is intended to run until the end of the year, although the company indicated it will continue if it's successful.

Danny Johnson/Ghostface

Be still his beating heart! Whatever Danny was doing is immediately dropped when he sees a smile grace your features. This the happiest he has felt in a long time when you finally smile at him.

He immediately tries to get a picture of your smile, even if it doesn’t last a long time he wants to capture your smile. If he does happen to get a picture of you, he keeps it very close and doesn’t let anyone else see it.

Whatever he did to make you smile, he going to try it over and over to see it again. He’s become enamored by your smile and will do anything to see you smile.

Danny doesn’t really like the idea of others getting to see your smile, but seeing you happy and enjoying yourself calms down that feeling a little bit. Though he will try what they’re doing later to see if you smile for him the same way.

Frank Morrison/Legion

Frank literally just stares when he sees you smile, it’s as if his brain stopped functioning right then and there. He doesn’t like being called a sap but he honestly feels like the world just stopped when you smiled.

He really tries to blow it off like it’s no big deal that you just smiled but with the cheesy grin he has on his face tells everything you need to know. That he really loves your smile and he would like to see you smile more.

Frank tries to get you to smile more often, telling jokes he thinks are funny or just trying to do dumb shit to see you smile again. Even if your smile winds up being an annoyed one, he’ll still love it.

Every time you do wind up smiling, Frank just gets this huge grin on his face even if he wasn’t the one to make you smile. Just seeing you open up enough is good for him!

Street Fighter’s Ryu Is The Kevin Bacon Of Video Games

Did you know that Ryu, the globe-hopping protagonist of the Street Fighter franchise, has become so prolific that it’s possible to connect him to just about every other video game character in existence? It’s true! No matter how weird or obscure, they probably lead back to Ryu in some way or another.

Similar to “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” a parlor game wherein you attempt to connect Bacon with another actor by way of daisy-chaining castmates in their various movies, the Twitter account “Six Degrees of Ryu” charts the world warrior’s interwoven relationships with other game characters that stem from his vast crossover potential in games like Super Smash Bros. and Marvel vs. Capcom. The account is just over a week old, but it’s already garnered over 3,000 followers.

Popular musician Deadmau5, for example, has a “Ryu Number” of seven thanks to his cameo in DJ Hero 2. This connects him to Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA, who appeared in Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style with Ghostface Killah, who appeared in Def Jam: Fight for NY with Danny Trejo, who appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops with Ronald Reagan, who appeared in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus with Adolf Hitler, who appeared in Bionic Commando with Nathan “Rad” Spencer, who appeared in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with Ryu.

Some of the more out-there connections are much simpler than that. Jesus Christ, central figure of the Christian faith, has been assigned a Ryu Number of two by way of Monolith Software’s strangely clad android KOS-MOS, who appears alongside both Jesus in Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra and Ryu in Project X Zone.

United States president Joe Biden also has a Ryu Number of two thanks to former president Barack Obama’s cameos in both NBA Jam (in which Biden also appears) and Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation (which, naturally, features Ryu as a playable character).

This vast array of relationships should come as no surprise to anyone who’s seen SourceGaming’s giant chart of opponents Ryu has faced in battle since his 1987 debut in the original Street Fighter. Just like Kevin Bacon, whose lengthy career has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, Ryu is an ubiquitous part of gaming history. The dude’s rolodex was massive before he even showed up in Fortnite.
