I find comfort in the creativity of others. I find comfort and purpose in my own creativity. Often this solace comes in the form of music, art, culture, travel, literature, theatre and the performing arts, dance, visual arts, poetry, photography, nature, culinary arts, design, philosophy and beyond. In life and in every form, echo and reflection of existence there is a universal language that speaks to our soul.

That’s why art and music can be so therapeutic. You experience something that allows you to realize that you are not alone, that others experience as well, that is universal and part of the fabric of what it means to be human.

I try not to over analyze every detail and minutiae of a situation. Often things have a way of working themselves out. Invested energy, time and emotion create a metamorphosis. Awareness, in and of itself, is a type of transformation. Change has already begun in thought, word and deed. I trust in this process.

I used to think life had problems that needed to be solved. I’ve come to realize that awareness and discussion and understanding help us to see things in a different light. Seeing with new, opened eyes creates shifts in our being and way of living. Let us continue living life. We may be surprised to realize that the efforts we have already put in will bear fruit. Ripe, juicy and delicious fruit. The fruit of our labours. The process is its own reward.
