“Como una nueva entrega de mi proyecto les pediré a varios artistas que tomen la idea original de la ruta de la amistad y que integren obra producida en concreto a lo largo de una ruta especifica. Sin presupuesto de producción o permisos, serán solicitados a instalar sus obras clandestinamente a los largo de una nueva Ruta de la amistad. Los trabajos hechos de concreto deberán ser in-identificables, sigilosos y en armonía con su entorno con el fin de que no sean retirados o censurados. Queda en el trabajo de cada participante las estrategias de cómo insertarse en el espacio público de la ciudad. El espacio de proyectos Ladrón, nuestro generoso anfitrión durante el proceso exhibirá la documentación de cada intervención”.

Drei Gestaltergenerationen zeigen, dass der Werkstoff Porzellan bestimmte Arbeitsweisen vorgibt, die auf einem Reproduktionsverfahren aufbauen, somit porzellanspezifisch sind: Grundformen – zumeist im Schlickerguss gefertigt – regen dabei zu weiterem kreativen Arbeiten an. Die Ausstellung präsentiert sechs ausgewählte Gestalter, deren Wirken die Facetten der Porzellangestaltung, wie nur dieser keramische Werkstoff es eröffnet, in jeder Dimension verkörpert. Die vertretenen Künstler sind Meister ihres Faches, deren Schaffen sich unter anderem auf Arbeiten erstreckt, die im Zusammenwirken mit oder im Auftrag berühmter Porzellanmanufakturen wie Meissen und Wien, den legendären durch das Porzellanunternehmen Seltmann in Weiden am ursprünglichen Standort Rudolstadt-Volkstedt wiederbelebten “Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst“ oder auch in den eigenen Ateliers entstanden sind. An den Objekten von Bärbel Thoelke, die einen Querschnitt ihrer Arbeit aus einem mehr als fünfzigjährigem erfolgreichen Berufsleben darstellen, wird die Vielfalt der beschriebenen Arbeitsweise demonstriert. Der Einblick in ihr Werk zeigt, wie sich im Rahmen dieser Tätigkeit eine künstlerische Handschrift entwickelt und ausprägt. Bärbel Thoelke kreiert Arbeitsformen, die sie unglaublich variabel einsetzen kann. Sie „zieht“ ihren „Kindern“, wie sie diese Formen bezeichnet, neue Kleider an. Peter Strang hat im Laufe seiner Tätigkeit Werkstätten eingerichtet – wie beispielsweise in den „Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst“ – die auf die Vervielfältigung seiner Handschrift spezialisiert sind. Dazu hat er ein selbstständiges Baukastenprinzip geschaffen, das vielseitig einsetzbar ist. Es beruht im Wesentlichen auf Abstraktion, ein Markenzeichen seiner Arbeiten. Der langjährigen Tätigkeit von Sabine Wachs und Andreas Ehret als Entwerfer in einer großen Manufaktur verdankt die Porzellankunst eigenständige Formschöpfungen. Auch die Arbeit der beiden im eigenen Atelier basiert auf effektivem Einsatz von Formen oder Techniken die das Kopieren ihrer Handschrift erlaubt. Gerade die Technik von Ehret, aus Flächen wandlungsfähige Objekte aufzubauen, scheint simpel und setzt doch große Materialbeherrschung voraus. Die Arbeiten von Maria Volokhova.und Kyungmin Lee scheinen auf den ersten Blick am intensivsten dem Prinzip der Serie verhaftet. Bei Volokhova sind es ungewöhnliche Formen aus der Tierwelt, teils mit morbidem Charme, die in die formale Vervielfältigung gehen. Ihre Objekte haben immer auch einen funktionalen Aspekt. Dieser ist zwar zweitrangig, dennoch bildet er eine wichtige Denkbrücke im wortwörtlichen „Begreifen“ und damit Aneignen der Dimension des Kunstwerks. Die Virtuosität von Kyungmin Lee zeigt sich in seinem kreativen Umgang mit dem tradierten Formgebungsverfahren für Porzellan (Gipsform und Schlickerguss): Er zerlegt seine Gießformen in bewegliche Module und erwirkt dadurch die Individualisierung der Form. Andere Gießformen sind so konzipiert, dass einzelne filigrane Segmente der frisch gegossenen Formlinge durch die weitere Handhabung bis zum verfestigenden Brand zufällig verformt oder bewusst verändert werden können.

Zeitgleich zur Ausstellung findet in der Galerie Arcanum in Berlin eine Schau statt, die unikative Objekte der Künstler präsentiert und inhaltlich so die Ausstellung in Selb abrundet. Der Begriff unikativ schließt hierbei nicht das Einsetzen einer Form oder von Formteilen aus. Arcanum, jenes legendäre Wort für die Kenntnis vom Geheimnis der Porzellanherstellung, ist der Name einer Berliner Galerie, deren engagierte Eigentümer sich der Porzellankunst – ob Unikat oder Kleinserie – verschrieben haben.
