Biologically, everybody over 25 going through all this "has an addiction to a hard drug" because of their cortisol levels, and its one of the reasons why psychological research has such problems with replication because different places distribute it (and thus damage the body) in different ways.

If you are able to see a doctor, that feeling in your guts is your body screeching, begging you to run. Please please see a doctor and get a once-over. Think of it as a tune-up for a car or a general wellness assessment. If you're over 35, you'll probably catch something while its very minor like bone spurs, or nervous myalgia that's treatable at this point, the winging of your scapulas in your back, or some sort of imbalance of essential nutrients (my guess is going to be magnesium and vitamin D) -- all of which are incredibly painful if left untreated and managing and filtering that pain will eat into your cognitive capacity (since pain management costs your cognition, since you have finite brain volume and the brain can't use the same areas to do both high quality filtering and reasoning at the same time without one disrupting the other).

Read a book called "The body keeps the score" if you want to know more. It will help you solve your problems.

To quickly note, I received this for free from Wishtrend for my honest review.

The UV protector comes in a plastic squeeze bottle like normal and contains 50 ml (1.69 oz) and is fragrance-free.

The product is very easy to dispense and it's very convenient.

The sunblock is not watery or anything, but it's pretty lightweight.

The sunblock does blend out a fair amount but is still fairly streaky. This, while somewhat frustrating, is a sign of an effective sunblock as it does leave somewhat of a layer and doesn't just absorb in like a moisturizer.

It's not the most moisturizing, but it does have some chalkiness to it.

The layer is a little bit visible and so I do think this will flash back if you're using flash photography.

Recommended use is to dispense an adequate amount of the SPF on areas such as the face, neck, arms, and hand during your last step of skincare. Apply as often as necessary in order to maintain sun protection. Suitable for daily use and meant for dry to normal skin. This sunblock is cruelty-free, pH balanced, and free of artificial coloring, fragrances, and ethanol. It’s also vegan-friendly. While designed for dry to normal skin, this one may be ideal for oily to combination skin. This is a physical sunscreen that's hypoallergenic and is a non-chemical filter. After using, while I don't typically notice physical sunscreens very often if they are pretty moisturizing, this formula is a little drier and does take some time to absorb into the skin and look less dry. After it does absorb, my skin looked very radiant and bright, but it's very apparent I'm wearing sunblock after application. It has a typical sunscreen scent and a chalkiness to it. So it does have some streaking that does take some time to blend in. The ingredients are quite nice with the exception of one irritant. I didn't notice any irritation on my skin as a result of using this, however, it does ball up on the skin, so in my opinion, this may not be the best to wear under makeup as it may cause makeup to ball up. I do think this would be best for lighter skin as it's less obvious and has less of a cast on it. I do find it long-wearing and very effective but I'd recommend this to people with oily and combination skin as I really don't think it's the best fit for dry skin.

What I like: once it really melts into the skin, it really does leave the skin looking hydrated and it really lasts a long time and is easy to reapply. What I don't like: it's harder to blend in and is kind of chalky and streaky. It really isn't the best for my skin type personally but I can see this working on oily skin. It has a pretty obvious cast on it and I think this would be hard to hide if you have darker skin. It also balls up and so it may not be the best base for makeup.

Kensi sighed as Deeks pulled his truck in front of a small cabin, decked out with small twinkle lights and a few decorations. With a dusting of fresh snow on the roof, it looked very close to a real gingerbread house. It wasn’t as close to the resort and attractions since it was a privately owned house, but it meant they could stay for a week for the same price as renting a cabin directly.

“I forgot how beautiful it is here,” she said, turning in time to see Deeks’ smile. Over the last few years, they hadn’t made it up to Mammoth at all. It was especially welcome after all the stress and disappointment of last year.

“It is pretty perfect,” Deeks agreed. “Come on, let’s go in. There’s a hot tub calling my name.”

He took her hand as they walked along the salted path to the front door, which bore a holly and fir tree wreath. Deeks punched in the the security code, toting their bags in as they walked into a small entryway.

While Deeks went to grab another load from the truck, she explored the rest of the house. In the den, she found a small tree decorated with silver and blue icicle ornaments and garland and a collection of blankets, books, and games in baskets next to a fireplace.

Deeks was bent in front of the fireplace, his hair flopping into his as he concentrated on lighting a pile of kindling. She was overwhelmed by a rush of affection for him and spent a minutes just watching him work. “It’s perfect,” she said, threading her fingers through his hair. “Thank you, Baby.” Deeks sighed, leaning into her touch, closing his eyes briefly.

“So, you wanna break into that dinner?” he suggested, dropping his linked hands to her lower back.

“Dinner can wait,” Kensi decided, drawing his lips back to hers. She sank to the floor, drawing Deeks with her and sighed when his lips found her neck.

Deeks’ skin was soft beneath Kensi’s fingers as she ran them down his back and across his stomach. He shivered, making a pleasant sound, but didn’t move from his spot a few inches from the fire. Kensi was nicely warm tucked into his side.

“So much for the hot tub,” he said, flashing her half a smile. The rest of his face was smashed into the floor rug.

“Are you complaining?” Kensi asked, pretty sure of his answer. As far as she was concerned, they’d just spent a very enjoyable hour together.

“No, definitely not,” Deeks assured her quickly. “I’m just going to have some rug burn in uncomfortable places.” He lifted his head and let his gaze run over her. “But totally worth it,” he added, his voice dropping to a low, almost gravely tone that sent a rush of heat through her at the memory of their very recent activities.

Palming her hip, Deeks gently squeezed and rolled her onto her back, sliding over her. She welcomed the heavy weight of his body pressed against hers. He started to prop himself up on his forearms, but Kensi hooked her leg around his waist, keeping him in place.

Kensi arched into him as Deeks kissed her neck, smoothing her hands down his back. When she reached his butt, she rolled her hips and squeezed him. Deeks broke his patter of kisses with a gasp, letting out a breathy chuckle.

“Oh god,” he sighed. “At this rate, we’re going to starve.”

“Completely worth it,” Kensi decided, grinning against his mouth as she kissed him.

The amount of people who nonchalantly decide to regularly eat foods that they are allergic/intolerant to, stresses me out.

Like hun, your "mild" allergy to that fruit you like could very easily to into an anaphylactic reaction and have you dead.

That food you're intolerant to that fucks up your stomach every time you eat it, that you still decide to eat every day, is raising your risk for digestive cancers and malnutrition issues so much.

Like, if you know this and decide to keep doing it, more power to you. You make your own decisions my friend. But please... make informed ones.

My #1 post of 2022

I've known I that I'm nonbinary for a while. Started figuring that out in college, which feels like a lifetime ago. I hadn't known my entire life, but that was more of a pebble than a pothole on my road to self-discovery. I went through a moment of "am I trans enough to call myself trans?" What a funny thought, looking back on it.

Coming to terms with being transmasc though? That was an entirely different thing. My gender felt weird. It felt queer. But masculine? No. I had no connection with masculinity. I felt just as uncomfortable with masculinity as I did femininity.

Or so I told myself—and others occassionally, when I wanted to emphasize my gender's queerness, its otherness, its void-like ambiguity; when I wanted to make sure they didn't just swap out one half of the binary for the other.

Looking back, I can tell something wasn't sitting right, something was nagging at the peripheral of my self-understanding. I remember finding a lot of comfort in butchness at this time. I am so thankful for butches for that safety in exploration, and the gentle nudging into queer masculinity.

But it wasn't really until dear friend of mine, new to my nonbinary-ness, began swapping the more feminine-coded compliments and titles for distinctly masculine ones—it wasn't really until then that my transmasculinity took root to blossom in me.

And you can spare me the essay; I can read my own words. "I wanted to make sure they didn't just swap out one half of the binary for the other." Hear me when I say that I could feel it in my soul that they did not do that. I could tell—and I know I am not the only one who can—when "handsome" was said queerly.

It is not a coincidence that I only give my full set of pronouns to those who I can trust to see the queerness in "he/him." I withhold those for my own safety, though in the process, I feel like I am withholding part of myself. Because the euphoria I get when I can be nonbinary, genderqueer, transmasculine, is like no other I have felt before.

Amy opened her eyes. Slowly. Hoping she'd wake up in her own bedroom. The image that started to form in her vision was another. It wasn't a nightmare, after all. She was still trapped in Kamilah Sayeed's house.

Kamilah Sayeed. The gorgeous and rich CEO who planned to kill her and drink her blood. Because she's a vampire.

Amy could do nothing but laugh. Even if she managed to find a way to contact the authorities, who would believe her?

Her stomach started to growl. Her kidnapper hadn't served any food yet since her arrival. She narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists. Two could play that game. She wouldn't just give up on her life. Not before making Kamilah's life a living hell.

"Hey," she yelled, right behind the door. "I'm starving here! Open this door!"

She threw punches and kicks at the door. She cried. She shouted insults. Nothing. From the other side, only silence.

She sat on the bed, sighing in frustration. A couple of minutes later, Kamilah furiously opened the door.

"What's your problem?" She asked. "I was in the middle of an important phonecall!"

"What is my problem?" Amy snarled. "My problem is that you locked me in this room to starve to death."

"The door was unlocked. You could've left anytime you wanted."

Amy felt her cheeks blushing. Indeed, she never actually attempted to open the door.

"But... I saw as you locked it last night."

"Of course, you were acting like an enraged animal."

Amy took a deep breath. She need to control herself. If Kamilah locked the door again, she wouldn't be able to explore the rest of the house. Where she could possibly find a phone.

"Let's go," Kamilah showed the way. "Breakfast is served."

Amy followed her to the dinning room. An enormous table with the most diverse food was served.

"I didn't know what you liked so, I ordered all the available options."

"This is so gentle of you," Amy ironized.

She took a sit around the table. Filling a plate with eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles.

“I cannot fathom how your kind survived this long.”

Kamilah was sitting in front of her, eating yogurt and some fruits. Then, she grabbed the newspaper and started reading in silence.

Amy stared in disbelief. How could she act so normally when she kidnapped a person she intended to kill?

"Funny," she provoked. "I thought your kind needed another kind of breakfast to thrive."

"Blood, you mean," Kamilah patiently closed the newspaper. "We only need a small amount daily, to keep our bloodlust under control."

"Then why have you been killing so many people lately, huh? Is it your concept of fun?"

"I haven't killed a single mortal in centuries."

Amy let out a sadistic laugh.

"Right..." She shook her head. "Then what's the deal with me?"

"You're special," Kamilah took a sip of her coffee.

"And what's make me special? Really, I'm only a small-town girl. I don't even have a job yet."

"Your blood makes you special."

“Okay, then my blood is like one of those rare expensive wines you have there in your rack,” Amy pointed to another corner of the room.

For a second, she could swear Kamilah’s lips would turn into a smile, but she hid it. Very well.

When they finished eating, Kamilah announced she was going back to her office. She had some papers to sign.

"I suppose you'll lock me in the bedroom again," Amy said.

"No, darling," Kamilah shrugged. "You're free to do whatever you want. As long as you don't leave the house, of course."

Amy's face lightened in hope. She spent the rest of the morning mapping the mansion. Inspecting every corner in search of alternatives to escape, or at least a phone. Her expectations were frustrated when she realized the only avaliable phone was in Kamilah's office.

Lying on the couch, she watched the news. Another animal attack. At least she knew Kamilah was telling the truth this time. She spent the night busy... Kidnapping her.

"Amy?" Kamilah called. "Would you come to my office, please?"

Amy gulped, was she ready to drink her blood? Nervously, she sat on the chair in front of her desk.

"So, will you finally do it?"

"No," Kamilah approached her, with a syringe in hands. "First, I need to draw a blood sample to confirm you have what I need."

"No," Amy protested. "I refused to sign your contract. You won't touch a single drip of my blood."

Kamilah sighed, as if she already expected that reaction. She grabbed something inside her drawer. Amy recognized her cellphone.

"Lily has been calling you the whole morning," Kamilah told.

"Of course, she's worried about me."

"One phonecall," Kamilah extended the phone in Amy's direction. When she was about to touch it, she retreated. "In trade for a blood sample."

Reluctantly, Amy agreed. It was her only chance. Of course Kamilah was going to monitor the call, but she could give Lily the smallest sign. She knew her best friend would be able to notice the weirdness in her voice.

Kamilah inserted the needle in her arm's vein. Her touch was soft, careful... There was no pain. Instead, a good electric sensation ran from Amy's arm, spreading to her entire body. Almost causing her pleasure.

"What the fuck, Amy?" She thought. "What the actual fuck... She's cold-blooded monster. How can you even feel like this? Of course, she compelled you. She’s trying to put you under her sadistic spell!"

"Are you alright?" Kamilah's voice brought her back to reality.

"Uhhh yes," Amy felt her cheeks burning a little bit. "Now give me my phone as you promised."

Before Kamilah handed her the cellphone, her face acquired a threatening expression.

"Don't you even dare to try anything, do you understand? You wouldn't want to put Lily's life in danger... Right?"

Amy nodded, grabbing the phone violently from her hand. Kamilah positioned herself in front of her, hearing every part of the conversation.

"Lil?" Amy felt a notch in her throat, controlling herself to not cry. "That's me."

"Jeez, Amy. I was starting to get worried."

"I'm sorry I didn't go home last night... something happened."

"What? Are you in trouble?"

Lily's words alarmed Kamilah, who made the motion of taking the phone from Amy's hand.

"No... Actually, it's something good," she lied. "I got the job."

"Really? And where are you?"

"A-At Kamilah's house. It's uhhh... A special training to... prepare me for the position."

Lily paused for a few seconds.

"Amy, there is something else going on! You're acting strange."

"Fix it," Kamilah muttered, showing the tips of her fangs.

"Me, Lil? Of course not! I'm just tired, I worked a lot last night."

Suddenly, Amy heard Lily gasping at the other side of the line.

"Oh my god," she shouted. "I can totally see what's happening! Tell me, she's some kind of Christian Grey, isn't? It explains that mysterious attitude."

"Lily, no..."

"You only act this weird when you're into someone."

Kamilah was impatient, pacing around her office with a disturbed look on her face.

"Okay, Lily. There's something between us! But it's not as you think. Anyways, I need to go now. Kamilah needs me."

"Calling her by the first name already. You go, girl! Enjoy your time with her, but don't forget to fill me in on details when you have time."

"Oh... Of course. Bye."

When she hung up, Kamilah gave her a furious gaze. She grabbed her phone and smashed it with one hand.

"Hey! That was my phone," Amy yelled. "Why did you do that? I followed your orders."

"No, you didn't," Kamilah rebuked. "You demonstrated tension in your voice, you insinuated we could be having an affair... and who the hell is Christian? Is it some kind of code?"

"Oh, you're not into modern literature."

"Not really, rare are the books from this generation that I..."

Amy handed her a piece of paper.

"Read it, it may help you to relieve your tensions."

Kamilah looked at her intrigued.

Amy spent the rest of the day lying on Kamilah's office couch, asking the most diverse questions about vampirism.

"This heavy curtains," she pointed. "Does it mean you can't walk in the sunlight?'

"Correct," Kamilah replied, eyes still focused on a pile of papers.

"If I open the curtains, will you sparkle or will you turn into ashes?"

Kamilah rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Why don't you test?"

Amy opened the curtains. As the sunlight penetrated the room, Kamilah didn't show any reaction. After a couple of minutes though, she showed signs of pain and discomfort.

"Close it," she demanded.

Amy obeyed. At least now she knew one of Kamilah's weaknesses. She could use it as advantage in the future.

"How long can you take it?" Amy wanted to know.

"One hour and half."

"Any other aversions? Like garlic, crucifixes..."

"No, it's a myth. And before you ask, I don't sleep in a coffin."

Amy insisted on her plan. So far, Kamilah answered all her questions patiently.

"I'm going to take a shower," she announced. "I’ll need some clothes, you know."

"We can provide it," Kamilah said. "Tonight you can wear some of my clothes.”

Amy nodded, coming back to her bedroom. She wasn't successful on her mission. As long as Kamilah had control over the situation, she wouldn't get affected. Amy needed an opportunity where she'd be vulnerable, an occasion where Kamilah could not control... And it seemed like luck was on her side. Before dinner, Kamilah was on a heated argument over the phone.

"Amy, we need to talk," she spoke when they sat down to eat. "On Friday, I’ll need to attend this event and I have no other choice... I'm taking you with me."

To quickly note, I received this for free from Wishtrend for my honest review.

The cream comes in a glass pot of 30 grams (1.05 oz) and doesn't have a discernible scent.

Not a whole lot is needed, I've barely made a dent after a few months.

It's a pretty thick and emollient cream.

It doesn't feel heavy, however.

It does a great job of smoothing the texture of the skin and it's hydrating, leaving a glow.

Recommended use as an eye cream: apply toner and smooth out skin texture. Take an appropriate amount and apply lightly around the eyes and gently tap until it is fully absorbed. If using it as a facial moisturizer, take an appropriate amount during the cream stage of your skincare and apply it evenly over the entire face and let it absorb. The cream is cruelty-free, pH balanced, and free of artificial coloring. After using, this cream does contain one irritant which is supposed to be numbing, though I've never noticed it myself, but keep that in mind if you're very sensitive around eyes like me. I didn't personally opt to use it for my whole face even though it would be a good option as it's twice the size of most eye creams. The cream is a rich, thick consistency but it's also not heavy on the skin. It spreads onto the skin very smoothly and I didn't notice any pilling or up, even under makeup. It soaks in well and is very nourishing. I think this cream is actually suitable for any skin type as it's very moisturizing and fairly gentle even though it's not technically fragrance-free. But there is no noticeable scent or anything that could cause the eyes to tingle, I also had no issue using it on my eyelids. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone, especially people looking for a very rich eye cream.

What I like: this cream is really gentle, moisturizing, and nourishing. It's safe on the eyelids and I didn't notice any kind of irritation. The ingredients are also quite nice. The texture of the cream is very nice and emollient and it doesn't pill or bunch up. What I don't like: I wish it was fragrance-free and there is an irritant that could potentially feel numbing or tingly on the skin.

Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat August 18

Before I begin, I wanted to mention that this month we had a code for so much off of a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription. There was also an item we were supposed to get but due to a last-second issue, it was swapped out for something else. I don’t remember the exact reason but it’s not important anymore.

Also, I forgot to take a picture of the Lucky Treat and Contest prizes. Lucky Treat included a lot of gudetama and Pokemon items, and some cute yellow things like pudding flavored cookies and candy. The Contest was to design your own kit-kat flavor and package, and the winner would receive 2 Cinnamoroll items, while 5 runner-ups got a Pompompurrin item.

The Japan articles in the booklet focuses on Japanese fruits and how popular they are in Japan- asking someone of their favorite fruit is a popular conversation starter, isn’t that cute~?

I’ll play along. My most favorite fruit is a strawberry (ironically I just got some big, yummy looking ones today~), but I also like grapes, apples, pears, pineapple, mango, raspberries, plums... pretty much anything except for bananas, and tomato if you count that as a fruit. 

There’s also a question asking “which fruit would you assign/associate to each month?“ so I came up with:

Summer - Watermelon, Pineapple.

Fall - Apples

Winter - Melon (It’s light color and taste reminds me of winter)

Spring - Pears, cherry, strawberry, anything refreshing and light.

I had fun answering those, I kind of wish they included them more often. But for now, let’s get on with the actual review!

Coca-Cola Clear & Melon Jelly Drink DIY

As usual, the DIY will be covered in a separate post. Our main feature for this pic is the big, clear empty-looking coke next to it. As of this box, Coca-Cola Clear is Japan’s newest Coke variation, which features a zero calorie spin with lemon flavoring to create a light, refreshing taste~

I know I’m a broken record, but for anybody new around here; I ♥ Coca-Cola! So I always get excited when it shows up in the boxes, or even getting cola-flavored candy. I love it love it love it~

Unfortunately, this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind...

When I smell it, I get a coke x sprite sort of mix. But when I taste it, I don’t really get the lemon at all. Or maybe I do- but to me it actually tastes like apple pie. More specifically, the taste of the syrup you get from combining apple and cinnamon when preparing to bake them.

It’s not a bad taste in any means, but I had higher expectations. I’m not a big fan of sprite or anything, but I kinda thought it might have been like lemon pepsi; a drink I was obsessed with years ago when it came out (its since been discontinued sadly). You don’t even really taste coke honestly.

Melon Bread Cookies Party Park

A fun, large pack of melon pan inspired cookies. There is an equal amount of crunchy orange-flavored cookies, and soft, sweet melon cookies with cream inside. This product is by Kabaya, The orange cookies are 41.1 calories, and melon is 43.1 calories.

They’re alright. The orange one actually doesn’t have any sort of orange flavoring to me at all, it’s not even sweet. The crunch is light, and honestly I think it’d be better with a sweet drink, or maybe some cream. The melon one is soft and chewy, and it’s much sweeter than the other one; it actually tastes like melon. The cream inside keeps it from being too dry in taste.

Chip Star Lemon Chips &

Next up are two Lemon themed items, the first are chips by popular snack brand Chip Star. The entire container is 263 calories, which kind of bothers me a little considering how small the count is; but it’s okay if you don’t eat them all at once, or share some of them.

This product uses real Setuchi lemons to create a tangy, savory flavor.

They’re so yummy~♥ It’s basically a lemon salt flavored chip, but the lemon flavor is very light and the tanginess is gentle. On scent, you get a really strong sour vinegar smell, but they don’t taste like that.

Our next item is this box of Choco-Lemon dipped mini-pocky! This was the item we got instead of the Kinoko no Yama Chocolate Banana; which because I dislike artificial banana flavors is fine by me.

Each package or the entire box is 103 calories. I can’t tell which it is from what’s written on the back... but I’m kinda hoping it’s the entire box.

These are very delicious, but usually this type of pocky is~ It reminds me of a non-sour version of lemon meringue ♥ I can’t see eating them too often though. The sweetness starts to get a little one-note.

Chocolate Mint Caramel Corn & Shimi Corn Share Pack

Following the crunchy trend, here we have two more sweet snacks! First up I’ll cover the Shimi Corn because we get it a lot in these boxes and I’ve reviewed it a handful of times. If I remembered where, I’d just link that but because I don’t....

Shimi Choco Corn is an adorable, star-shaped airy puff snack entirely infused in a rich, chocolate flavor. Each pack is 73 calories, and you get like 6-8 per mini-pack.

They taste really good, and there is a very faint bitterness to them, but not enough to trigger those anti-bitter gag reflexes. As I said, they are very soft-crispy, in a sort of creamy melt-in-your mouth way. As often as they show up, I don’t get tired of them ;3

Our next item is another famous brand that’s been showing up in boxes, Caramel Corn. Caramel Corn is another light puffed snack usually featuring a sweet, rich caramel glaze. But it comes in many varieties- some even include nuts in them! This specific flavor is chocolate-mint, a recent addition to this brand. Apparently during summer, Japan loves to produce mint-flavors because of the cooling burst they can give.

I ♥ chocolate mint so I always have very high hopes they’ll be good, and after last time- I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was very happy realizing these taste like what I expected the July choco-mint item to taste like. They have a strong chocolate, minor mint scent and taste, but you get a good combination of both.  I like that it also resembles choco-mint ♥

My only tiny complaint is that the entire bag is 422.6 calories. But chances are, you’ll either share this or eat it in several sittings, not just one.

Banana Man Marshmallow & Black Thunder Fruit Granola & Tsum Tsum Chocolate Bar

Our first item is a small little treat popular in japan for bringing together the chocolate banana flavor in a small marshmallow. I couldn’t find a calorie listing for this one.

I love marshmallows, but I don’t like banana (especially artificial) and this just didn’t appeal to me. I didn’t even taste the chocolate, they barely give you any. The concept is cute though.

The next item is the popular Black Thunder, a product by Calbee. It’s been in the box a few times, but never in granola form! I was very intrigued by this because I didn’t know this was a thing. It’s 99 calories and features granola with dried berries and covered in chocolate.

It’s alright. It was pretty hard, and I mainly tasted chocolate and raisins. It’s not bad, but is anybody else bothered by the fact it’s smaller than normal granola bars and it’s still 99 calories? You can get bigger for about the same amount, give or take, and I didn’t find it as filling.

The final item in this set is another item we’ve been seeing recently, a chocolate wafer bar by Furuta. It’s usually-always the same thing, but it’s been not only covered by Tsum Tsum, but Sanrio characters too! Last time, the one I had was covered in white chocolate and had Gudetama on it.

Each bar is 115 calories.

The flavor is unique for chocolate snacks. The texture reminds me of a kit-kat, but it isn’t sweet. It’s not bad, but it’s not my favorite either.

Cinnamon Apple Pie Umaibo & Cheese Rice Puffs

Here are our last two crunchy items, each pretty contrasting in taste. First I’ll cover the Cheese Rice Puffs (or “arare” as it says on the bag).

I love rice, especially rice snacks like this- but with all the other cheese flavors I’ve tried, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this or not. Especially since it’s recommended date to eat it was back in October... They weren’t open prior to when I took these pictures, but they definitely tasted a bit stale >3<

Even though they are a little old, they don’t taste too bad. There isn’t much flavor to them but I still get something, and the crispy bite is still present. They remind me a lot of Bugles (those pointy corn chips people like to put on their finger tips because they look like witch nails).

Our other item is the ever-so-popular and one of my most favorite brands Umaibo. This time, we get a sweet Umaibo, which isn’t very common. It only has 44 calories in total.

It’s not my favorite Umaibo, but it’s really good. It tastes a lot like cinnamon toast crunch or applejacks, or like that coca-cola drink, an apple covered in cinnamon sugar.

Fruit Donut Gummy & Honey Apple Hard Candy

These are our last 2 items of the box this month. We’ve gotten the fruit donut gummy a few times in prior boxes, and they come in a variety of mixed flavors- which always makes it a lot of fun to see what you get next~

This time, I got a lemon and lime mixed one. The bottom is always a creamy marshmallow flavor, and the entire thing is covered in sugar. The calories are 39 or this one ring.

These are always really good, and this one was no exception x3 it’s delicious. It’s a simple thing, but it’s so sweet and cute. The inside of the bag still smells yummy~

Our final item is the Apple Honey Hard Candy, the healthy Kinosei snack of the month. Not only is it delicious, but it can help a sore throat you may get in the summers heat (which is possible, if I get really warm my throat ends up hurting... and no it’s not my tonsils. I don’t have those anymore).

It was instant love for me~ ♥ Usually I’m not a huge fan of hard candy unless it’s a flavor I really like- and these are amazing! They don’t really taste like honey to me, more like... cooling apple. It reminds me a lot of a cough drop I really liked when I was younger, but once again, I don’t think they make them anymore. They were clear and had tiny colored beads in them, and they tasted like apple pie~

Content - 3 out of 5. I felt like it was all essentially good, but there was one or two items I didn’t really care for. I felt like there wasn’t too much of a variety either, we had a lot of items featuring crunch/crispiness and chocolate, but at the same time, we had variety in terms of the theme itself.

Theme - 5 out of 5. I can’t lie and say it wasn’t there, cause it entirely was!

Total Rank: 7 out of 10 Cuties! It was pretty decent, and I liked how we had a broad theme such as fruits. It was fun to see where it could go, even if I did miss having savory snacks~ I hope we get more boxes with a specific food theme again soon!

The concept of My Little Box is based on the typical lifestyle of a Parisienne and the monthly box contains a selection of items made up of lifestyle (e.g. notebooks), fashion (e.g. scarves), and at least two full sized beauty items (from their own brand). One important thing to note is that you can unsubscribe any time up until the last day of the month, as billing is on the 1st of each month., which is ideal if you want prefer a flexible subscription. Each box costs £14.95, which includes shipping, or £13.95 if you have the box delivered to your work address.

Ordering is easy, and quick with no profile to fill out; the presentation is beautiful, and the boxes are creatively illustrated, and make great keepsake boxes. The contents may vary slightly from each subscriber, but here is what was in my box:

The theme was the ‘Garden’ for this month and included a chart of fruit and vegetables and when they are season, which was a nice touch, even though it may not be that useful, but you never know! The main item, the fruit infusion water bottle was the most intriguing item, and it’s quite ingenious. Of course you can use it as a normal water bottle without any fruit, but there are a few ideas with what to add, namely chopped up mint, lemon, or cucumber. The idea is to encourage a healthy way of drinking by upping your fruit content. The navy blue scarf was sweet, but to be honest I doubt I would ever use it, but as a writer, notebooks always come in handy. A full sized body lotion is something everyone can use, and can double up as a hand lotion, and inside the drawstring pouch were the beauty items. The Vitamin Shot is a gentle gel scrub with apricot, bamboo, and argan oil, which was refreshing to use. The Easy Morning moisturiser is a light lotion that is suitable for all skin types, and has a fresh and subtle scent to it. Currently, the My Little Beauty products can only be bought in France and the moisturiser retails at €14, which makes the box excellent value, which already covers the cost of the box. The quality of the beauty products was good, and are packaged stylishly, and the range seems to be expanding.

The whole process from ordering to receiving the box was easy and straightforward. Signing up was simple, and the products in the box were all excellent quality and packaged perfectly. This is more of a treat box as it also contains lifestyle and fashion items rather than a beauty box, however, many other beauty boxes seem to be incorporating lifestyle elements into their boxes too, simply because there is a limit to obtaining samples from cosmetics companies.

On the whole, the box represents good value for £13.95/£14.95, and the ability to unsubscribe at anytime gives the consumer control.  If you like the April box, you can still order it now (as long as there are stocks) until the end of the month.
