God, if it weren't real tidal locking would seem like such scifi bullshit. Regularly, turning with respect to the planet they're orbiting is just too much work for moons so instead they just stay pointed the same way all the time. See? It sounds convoluted and made up, not the dominant mechanism for moon orbits.

#The way I described it would make an astrophysicist spit blood but it's also not technically wrong #Every single known moon in the solar system that's big enough to be round(ish) is big enough to do this tho #There are non locked moons but they're either small or weird #And usually both #Depending on the orbital parameters it's not necessarily *right* at the planet #But rather perpendicular to the orbit #You can see about 9% more of the moon over time than you could if it were strictly pointed at us #Because the moon's orbit is not strictly circular

Funny things I found out playing with language setting in Netflix while looking episode 15:

Chilchuck's scream sounds HAUNTED in brazilian portuguese. Give it a try if you can.

In spanish dub, Senshi says: "tocó mis senos de hombre", which means "he touched my man boobs" in Spanish. And I think that's the best dub line one so far.

people always make jokes about percy making these crazy plans and annabeth being super against them. but i’m fairly very sure that 90% of the time, it’s the exact opposite?? there are literally book scenes where annabeth has a crazy plan and percy absolutely DREADS it and thinks she’s gonna get them killed lol. so please allow my take on this:

after having an entire hour long conversation with my coworkers about what "degendering" is, and the importance of using trans people's pronouns when you know them- rather than always defaulting to "they/them" no matter what- and still getting "they/them"ed by people I trusted not to fucking do that to me, I have decided that the name and pronouns circle of introductions for new additions to the group will now include the very clearly stated boundary that they do not use "they/them" pronouns for me.

#the positive end of this is that i happened to be the first non-cis person to introduce myself in the circle #and two nonbinary(?) people after me both followed suit & elaborated on like #which pronouns were okay AND which pronouns they actually preferred people use for them/how they use them #which was really cool!!#usually they've just given the list of which ones were okay #so it was nice to have the detailed insight and also nice to see them asset boundaries
