Man. I wanna talk abt Rise Leo again now
#I’m SORRY it’s not my fault I picked the one everyone gets really annoying about as my favorite#No bro I’m different bro I swear bro wait please-#It’s like. I got bait-and-switched SO HARD with Leo on my first watch#I went in essentially blind outside of like. Basic knowledge of what a teenage mutant ninja turtle IS from cultural osmosis#But I didn’t know these characters I had no expectations#So I watched Minotaur Maze & I see the cocky blue jokester character whos worse than the rest of the cast and has a hint(TM) of insecurity#and I went “oh. Ive seen this character type before. This is the Lance voltron. This is the early-seasons sokka. I know how this goes.”#And I’m sort of at the point in my life where I’m over that trope Yknow? It was cool when I was 15 and hated myself but now that’s old hat.#So I didn’t care for Leo that much#And then I get to Many Unhappy Returns and that whole perception gets FLIPPED ON ITS HEAD#I REALIZE IVE BEEN PLAYED#TRICKED#BAMBOOZLED#The confidence wasn’t a ruse at all! and that reframes so much from season one and so much going forward!!!#He’s a cocky magnificent bastard and would probably be a badass hero if he gave a shit but instead is only here to be silly with his fam#And that’s AWESOME#But anyway I feel like most people never had that bait and switch moment#They just moved forward with the belief that Leo’s is a bit of a loser and hates himself for it#And then fandom does what fandom do and hyperfocuses on that one trait to the point of mischaracterization#And I’m sitting here like “I love all the content for my blorbo but oh no a lot of it’s weird and off”#Rottmnt

does she have adhd?
submit your own characters here to be featured!
reason: She does object to the way society works for feminist reasons, but it’s made clear through the duration of the show that the it upsets her in particular because she struggles to “fit in” with society’s rules and expectations, even when she tries to. Her family considers her to be (affectionately) different and odd and say (paraphrasing) there’s no way she’s ever going to conform to society’s expectations. She often talks for prolonged periods of time but will also stop when interrupted. You can see her, like, light up when asked to talk about her thoughts/what she’s interested in (there’s That One Scene from S3 Pt 1 with Cressida which is just sooo infodumping to me). She struggles with activities that require her to sit still or be quiet for a long time (like presenting herself to the Queen & parties in general) and seems generally very restless (she also runs away from balls a lot, something she did even before she was hanging out with Theo). She is thought of as “loud.” She can be impulsive and say/do things without fully thinking them through. She struggles during conversations and forgets to ask/press people for details about what they’re thinking, but not because she doesn’t care: When people explicitly tell her how they’re feeling personally she does demonstrate compassion. Especially in her conversations with her best friend Penelope in season 1 and 2, Pen doesn’t feel listened to because she will imply things during conversation that El doesn’t pick up on, which is what I think causes a lot of problems in their relationship. (mandatory disclaimer not blaming Pen for this either, I just think they both struggled to communicate because they were doing it differently) I also think that while it IS tied to her beliefs in feminism too, her hyperfocused interest in Whistledown feels so much like a hyperfixation to me. She’s also hated by large parts of the fandom for reasons that essentially boil down to “being too loud/annoying.” And idk, what is more Girl With ADHD than that? Other traits of hers that aren’t necessarily symptoms of ADHD but I relate to them and feel they’re connected to my ADHD: very competitive, very unintentionally expressive (on her face and body), very curious/questioning everything, reading a lot, feeling like people treat her more like a “quirky” form of entertainment than taking her thoughts/feelings seriously. Hopefully this was coherent but In conclusion: I have ADHD and she is just like me fr, therefore she also has ADHD.

Your readings are so interesting ! I have been loving them so much. About Han being more stable than you thought, I agree and it doesn’t really surprise me much. I feel like the fandom sometimes hyperfocuses way too much on his mental health- they make it seem like anxiety (or any other mental issue) is an inherent personality trait of his, which is why a lot of fandom seem to think he’s a mess. Also I feel like a lot of people can’t wrap their heads around the idea that somebody with anxiety could possible enjoy the idol industry- performing, interacting with people, being on stage etc, therefore he must constantly be in distress (which is a lil ableist ngl)
Like, I’m sure he’s still a bit immature, and has some growing up to do, but he’s not walking around with SOS tattooed on his forehead ya know?
Anyway, love your readings. Can’t wait for the dorm dynamics one you mentioned in your other post - I’m so curious what goes on with in Chan and IN
Thank youu💗💗💗 and yeah I've noticed that with other members or other idols too in general. Like they hear something about the idol (in hans case that he has social anxiety) and they project that on any little "weird" behavior that they exhibit (by weird i mean something thats outside of the persona the idol usually portrays). I understand the good intentions of wanting to protect their belived idols but a fan can't really do much protecting if we're being honest. And more often than not (almost always) the fans' interference does more damage than good. Imagine you get an anxiety attack once, because you're swarmed by people. And now the whole world thinks you have an anxiety disorder. Maybe you've never thought of yourself as someone with anxiety, maybe this happens like once every 5 years. But now everyone talks about your anxiety and kind of unintentionally forces that on you. After a while you start identifying with it and might indeed exhibit auch symptoms. And because of that whole thing fans do when they escalate a little situation they've only witnessed a fraction of - i believe lots of idols are afraid to share more deeper stuff with their fans, just because they'll take a small piece of information and immediately infantilize the idol and turn it all into a much bigger thing than it is. This - even if it comes from good intentions - is a harmful behaviour many fans should unlearn because it keeps their beloved idol quite and in fear of sharing whats on their heart with their fans. Thats my thoughts on the matter😅got a bit long tho.
And about han, tbh i forgot he had anxiety before you mentioned it here😅 why i thought he's much more unstable is actually because of his songs and what he often shares in interviews as well as the members about him. He has said several times he feels alienated from the world and has difficulties socializing and fitting in, at the same time he's a very sensitive and creative person and has even some genius like traits - and all this taken into consideration i thought he would be having a much harder time sorting out his thoughts and finding his place in the world. But he seems to be actually doing really fine, which makes me happy cuz i think he's such a charming, sweet guy🥰
And yeah, i think ill be doing that reading the following days sometime. Its def not too far back in my queue:)

Went on a whole bloody rant in the tags, but I wanted to elaborate, so, sorry for slightly derailing this.
I think the problem is that fandom tends to make characters into archetypes that they don’t fit, when the canon characters are much more complex.
Tim, especially season 1, is, as this post states, often seen as a himbo, and often as a somewhat malicious prankster. Pure of heart, broad of chest, and dumbo of ass. But, Tim isn’t like that.
First of all, he doesn’t have a canon appearance. Secondly, as the Cyeayt (prev) mentioned, he has a degree. That’s not to say that not having a degree makes one unintelligent, but he’s also shown to be good at researching — both by the fact that Jon chose him to be in research, and the post-statement notes that often feature Tim finding something that Jon or the others would’ve missed. Thirdly, while Tim playing pranks is mentioned as a part of canon, it’s also mentioned that Jon trusts Tim the most to not have made Oliver’s statement as a prank.
The other — especially season 1 — characters are also often reduced to core traits they don’t even have.
Martin is often reduced to incompetent sunshine boy. He’s nice, clumsy, not very smart, and constantly a caretaker of and comforter to Jon. I will get to that, believe me, I have some thoughts.
Firstly, Martin isn’t incompetent. He managed to work in the library at the institute for a decade without anyone finding out he didn’t even finish secondary school. Again, not finishing school doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent, but still, he was expected to have a master’s degree in parapsychology. That’s not something a clumsy and incompetent person could do.
Sasha doesn’t appear a lot. So, her character as the fandom sees it, isn’t really… based on anything? Like, even what she’s actually like contradicts this. Fanon!Sasha is smart, competent, the one with the braincell. In actuality, Sasha’s smart, sure, but she’s also just as impulsive as Jon.
Speaking of Jon, he’s typically characterized in one of two ways. I’ve seen him either be completely way meaner than he actually was in season 1, and sometimes… just having way less of a backbone, in all seasons. Being, for lack of better way to describe it, weepy, sad, and pathetic.
Also, similar to Tim, he’s said to be stupid by the fandom, you know for stuff he actually does, which makes it better, right. What is this stuff? Being impulsive, it’s treated as stupid, it’s treated as so stupid, with never any bloody argument. Having issues with self-care. It’s always Jon’s not sleeping, Jon’s not eating, Jon’s overworking himself, time to go get Martin to condescend to him why he should. It comes across as condescending, to me, at least. It’s always gentle, like he’s talking a child. Jon gets himself hurt like he’s a child. He can’t make his own decisions, because they’re self-destructive, he’s needs Martin to make them, or something. Yeah, it’s not explicitly that, but Christ, it happens more than I’d like.
I see it, you know. I (ADHD) see it when characters get treated as stupid children for being impulsive, for not looking after themselves. For forgetting to eat. For not sleeping. For hyperfocusing on something till late at night.
This to say, I’m not saying anyone’s interpretation of the characters are wrong, nor am I saying that mine are definitively right. Nor am I saying that what’s happening to Jon in jmart hurt/comfort is necessarily infantilization (and specifically infantilization due to disability/neurodivergence), maybe I’m just reading the wrong fics, or maybe I’m just sensitive. None of this is wrong or right, I’m just pointing out things that have caught my attention and irritated me, like how OP was irritated by Tim’s fanon characterization as “stupid.” I think it’s a major problem that fanon strips away a lot of nuance from characters, but… hey, if you want stupid jokes with Tim, go wild.
Sure you can joke that Tim is dumb but that takes too much nuance away from his character and I take it personally.
#also prev#WOW sorry this is long#and also kinda. discoursy#I JUST HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT JON BEING INFANTILIZED FOR POOR SELF CARE LIKE IT GETS ME OKAY#tma#tim stoker#jonathan sims#sasha james#martin blackwood#landscaping your mind chapter one#i could go on even more of a rant about this#sorry op i know your post was about tim#and i made it about my blorbo a bit#tma discourse#discourse#fandom discourse#fandom#fanon#long post

Tech, Fandom Ableism, and You.
I have been reluctant to make this post because I imagine that it may ruffle a few feathers, but I’ve seen some discussion regarding Tech that makes me immensely uncomfortable as a autistic fan.
1. People are calling Tech “bad autistic rep” and then giving these itemized lists of things that autistic people actually do that they have decided are “offensive stereotypes” as “proof”, and I find that incredibly hurtful. As an autistic person, posts like that feel like they are saying “here’s a list of things that this character has in common with you. I think you both are awful”. It’s one thing to criticize the way an autistic character is portrayed, but you have to be thoughtful about it, which brings me to my next gripe…
2. People are not even bothering to talk to autistic people about how we feel about this character before making these criticisms, full stop. People, including “charities” like Autism Speaks, tend to speak over and around us, and this is a source of hurt and trauma for many autistics. Do your part to avoid perpetuating this behavior in fandom. Additionally, we can help you write better criticism of TBB’s writing that doesn’t boil down to “Tech has autistic traits and this is terrible! I am such a great ally!”
3. I’ve seen people straight-up write meta about how “selfish” or “cruel” Tech is based on what are commonly read as autistic traits, and that’s not okay. No, Tech isn’t a “perfect uwu baby” and yes, he can be arrogant, but this “he’s secretly evil” meta is frankly inaccurate. Additionally, if you claim that a character is selfish or cruel because he hyperfocuses, doesn’t show emotion in a “typical” manner, and misses a lot of social cues, then I am very concerned about how you would approach a real, flesh and blood autistic person. These sorts of attitudes contribute to violence committed towards autistics IRL, and doubly so for autistics of color, so please examine your prejudices and do a bit of research on autistic communication.
One one hand, I hope that this post does not come off as too angry or combative, but on the other, I have felt downright unwelcome in certain corners of this fandom because of these issues and I wanted to speak out about it.

Is Amity autistic?
In the Owl House fandom, we hear a lot about how Luz is written to be ADHD. Now I would like to present the flipside: Amity is coded as autistic.
Here’s the breakdown.
Amity is touch-averse. “BuT aMiTy ToUcHeS LuZ aLL tHe TiMe” nice try. The key to autistic touch-aversion is only being okay with touch when she initiates it. And that totally matches up with Amity. See, Amity is really happy when she initiates touch with Luz. She’s also cool with it when Luz holds her hand after standing near her for enough time that Amity can predict an incoming touch. That’s because Amity consents to that touch and expects it.
But when other people touch her? She doesn’t take kindly to that. When Luz initially bumped into her at Covention, she snapped at her and degraded her. Even when she bumped into Luz in Enchanting Grom Fright, her initial instinct was to snap at Luz, since she didn’t expect to be touched. When Hooty touched Amity’s face without consent, she flipped out and beat him up. Not even Lilith beat Hooty up when he wrapped her up in his mucus-filled tube, but Amity gave Hooty the injuries we all wanted to see him with, because he breached her boundaries without her consent. Even as late as the last episode, Amity fell over when her face got close to Luz’s on the bleachers, because she didn’t expect it.
Amity stims. Okay, this one took me a while to catch, since most of the time, Amity is very controlled with her actions. This symptom isn’t very intense; her senses aren’t understimulated too often, and she really only does it when she’s really excited.
Mainly, when Luz offered to carry her. While she adorably scrambled for words, she also flapped her hands against her legs. At first I thought it was just a cute thing she did, but there’s more to it. She was so excited to be held by Luz that it showed up in her hands flapping...a common stim. With Amity feeling more comfortable around her new friends than the old ones, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more stimming in the future.
Amity always has The Mask as her expression. You know, the one with her eyes half-lidded, eyebrows raised, mouth slightly downturned. I also call it the Resting Blight Face, for...reasons.
At first I thought it was just a way to hide her true emotions, since her parents are assholes. But even though Luz makes her feel accepted, she keeps doing it. It’s more like...you know that feeling when you’re thinking really hard, or uncomfortable, or ashamed, or even just relaxed, and you can’t think of which expression to wear quickly enough, so you put on an unreadable one to tide people over? Apparently most people don’t do that, since allistic people tend to have expressions for those feelings, ones that arise naturally.
Another symptom of autism is having hard-to-read expressions, or being less expressive. In Amity’s case, it’s the fact that she doesn’t see a need to have an expression in calmer moments, so she just uses her usual expression.
Amity hyperfixates. This has several facets, so I’ll break this down.
She initially hyperfixated on school. And that’s how she became top student. Amity Blight is who you would mistake for a “gifted student.” But make no mistake...she is not gifted, and gifted is a bullshit label used to overexert people and force them to keep school as their special interest for their entire lives (and I may have a bit of a vendetta against it). Anyways, we already know she’s a perfectionist. My theory is that Amity originally was hyperfocused on school--the Abominations track, to be exact--and that’s part of how she got so good. Then, her focus shifted, but the school expected her to keep being top student. Cue the perfectionism; she was no longer able to focus on school like she wanted to, but everyone expected her to, so she got insecure about it.
She hyperfixates on Azura, just like Luz did. Yeah, she keeps it secret from the world, for most of the time. But she definitely likes Azura a lot. I mean, she started to reconsider her opinion on Luz when Luz offered her an Azura book. She destroyed her jock career because she tried to use an Azura move in real-life Grudgby. Her interest in Azura is long-lived, starting about the time that her interest in school would have expired (which would explain why she stayed closeted). And we can’t ignore the fact that she sees Azura in Luz and is definitely enjoying the parallels between herself and her fictional counterpart. (Which might not be a coincidence, but that’s an entirely different theory).
She hyperfixates on Luz. Yes, part of this is a crush. But a lot of us have watched Amity’s personality go from alpha bitch to cutest little bean in the Boiling Isles, all thanks to Luz’s influence. Lumity is not a rivals-to-lovers speedrun due to bad writing, it’s due to Amity hyperfixating. She’s already extremely introspective, going so far as to keep a diary where she analyzes and makes sense of herself. It’s not a stretch to say that she identified the faults that kept her from Luz and worked hard to change those off-screen.
Amity keeps a journal. To me, this seems like masking. You see, Amity is what people would consider to be high-functioning, since she can pass for allistic. But in order to do this, she has to put in significant effort on her part. See, when she does something that makes it so she doesn’t pass, she just sees it as a problem (since she probably doesn’t know about autism, and she passes well enough that she would totally be undiagnosed). Then she tries to fix the problem, in order to keep being perfect.
Amity has awkward body language. Thanks to the journal and other ways of masking, you don’t see this early on. But once she feels comfortable enough around Luz to let her guard down...she completely forgets boundaries. To review: in episodes 15-17, she throws herself at Luz, holds her formal rival’s hand for 24.71 seconds, blushes every time she sees Luz, and loudly declares her thirsty thoughts about Luz in uniform before literally running away. While some of this can be seen as normal gal pal things or crush things...you’d think a repressed wlw like Amity would try very hard not to touch Luz, so as to avoid being outed. Or at least she would do less of that stuff, so as to respect Luz’s boundaries the way she wants her boundaries to be respected. But that’s not the case, since she straight-up misses a lot of social cues. And since she feels comfortable around Luz, she doesn’t feel the pressure to be so paranoid about the cues, and can be her awkward self. From her point of view, she probably sees it as being freed from her parents’ judgment.
Amity takes things literally, sometimes. Now, this doesn’t happen all the time, since she isn’t heavily affected by this autistic trait. But when Luz says “I’m picking up what you’re putting down” and Amity says “I’m not putting down anything” and looks down...she not only missed the conclusion Luz drew from her words, but also assumed a literal meaning from her words. I can’t come up with many other instances of this, mostly because this doesn’t happen often. I would assume that Amity missed these a lot early on, and learned how to mask/identify them.
Amity is easily upset when things don’t go as planned. Let’s review these. In the library, she gets really mad at Luz when they end up stitched to a book, and it takes Luz’s sweet personality to get Amity to loosen up and laugh over it. When she goes to practice magic, and Luz steals her wand and uses it to get her siblings kidnapped, Amity locks Luz in a cage and assumes that she will get badly injured if she tries to fix the problems she caused. When Luz comes to her school, she panics and focus on how that doesn’t change anything. When she burns Willow’s mind, she appears absolutely terrified of being punished, flinching and bracing for impact when Luz finds her near the memories, constantly trying to distract Luz as they work together to save Willow, and hiding behind Luz when she confronts the Inner Willow. When Luz asks her to join her in Grudgby, Amity doesn’t initially agree, instead taking much more of the episode to come to terms with her involvement in it.
Amity likes predictability. She’s not attached to routines, but she does like being able to expect things. If she makes a plan for the day, she expects that day to adhere to that plan, and she doesn’t respond well when it changes. When Luz comes to her school, she focus on how that doesn’t change anything...not how that would ruin things or complicate things. Whenever she gets involved in Luz’s shenanigans, she either gets angry, scared, or takes a while to accept it. In a broader sense, she takes a while to accept that Luz and her shenanigans are a permanent fixture in her life--sixteen episodes, to be exact.
Finally, it would make for some excellent representation. An ADHD Dominican-American bisexual protagonist is pretty groundbreaking. But an ADHD Dominican-American bisexual protagonist girl who dates an autistic wlw witch girl from another dimension is exactly the kind of intersectional representation you’d expect to see from an unrestricted Owl House crew.
...Now, this might just be me hardcore projecting. I’m a little scared to post this because I don’t know how much of this is me reading into imaginary things, or trying to convince myself that Amity is like me. Feel free to debate/disprove me or support me in the comments.

Sexuality and Being Wholesome
[Art by Adler the Eagle]
Adler the Eagle is an amazing individual who many are inspired by. He and his husband produce adorable and thoughtful content on YouTube and are one of the elements in the fandom that I would quickly point to when asked; "What's so great about being a furry?"
However, Adler is both a character and themselves. The actual truth is, they are only themselves, but they are so charming and naturally charismatic that people percieve them as being a troped up character. No. Adler is just a kind and loving individual with a full spectrum of thoughts, emotions, and desires just like you and me.
This apparently created some growing pains when fans of theirs branched out from just seeing their YouTube content to seeing them interact on Twitter and express their sexuality. This apparently broke down some preconceived notions and garnered a few unkind comments which resulted in Adler responding like this:
Just. The best. Possible. Response. 💜
This is a recurring theme with content creators across the internet. From Markiplier to Jaiden Animations, Adler to Imkrisyim. Each of these creators have had their own well done method of dealing with their consumers hyperfocusing on their sexuality. Markiplier did a nude calendar and donated the proceeds to charity, Jaiden addressed it once and shut it down, Imkrisyim got lots of porn drawn of themselves.
Everyone mentioned above are fundamentally wholesome and positive content creators. Something I strive to be, myself. When you watch my videos or streams, read my tweets or Tumblr posts, I want to be a comforting presence, to make you laugh and smile, to affect you positively and combat the woes of everyday life. I am also an adult living in a world with a wild variety of sexual expression that I engage in and proudly share. This has caused some confusion with recent followers who have been surprised to see me talk so openly about sex.
To a degree, I get it. I don't post porn openly, I can go weeks without a sexual topic on my feed. So let me break it down for you. I am one person, Cor. But I also portray another character; @yrieshadow, on streams and social media. Yrie was designed and meticulously thought out and continues to be developed upon. In fact, during the creation of Yrie and conceptualization of how I wanted to market them I addressed exactly the issue of others' sexualizing them.
Canonically; Yrie is ace, aloof, genderless, and unconcerned. They're a shadow. They've got no reproductive organs, and no desire to see your penis, even if it does look like an isopod. Yrie has no concept of sexuality beyond knowing that it's a thing that living creatures do. They get flustered when flirted with out of confusion, disdainful of sexual advances out of impropriety, and alarmed when exposed to lewd material. These are all chosen character traits. Yrie is a portrayed character that I have spent a significant time in the headspace of, deciding how they would feel about things that mortal creatures did. Obviously Yrie is not an entirely unique character portrayal. Who I am is largely represented through Yrie. My beliefs, feelings, and experiences all bleed through and become a part of the character. Yrie is a shadow of myself. A silhouette of the corporeal me, but only marginally.
On the flipside, I, CorRaven, am not a character. The purple raven you see before you is a digital representation of who I am. My real thoughts, my real feelings and my sexuality. I'm horny. I speak openly about sex and sexuality. I encourage dialogue and learning, sharing experiences and stories. I see sex as a fun social activity and romantic bonding experience.
This creates some confusion when people who have known me as Cor, know how overtly sexual I am; join my streams and talk to Yrie as though they are talking to me. You're not going to get the same responses! Yrie will be confused and not know what the fuck you are talking about. An actor doesn't take off their mask during a performance just because their buddy is in the audience. If you flirt with Cor, you're going to get appreciation and encouragement. If you flirt with Yrie, you're going to be met with nervous confusion. Both exude wholesomeness.
Despite these details being carefully thought out, I still face issues with followers trying to impose their own values on me, which brings me to my point; consumers don't get to decide the nature of the content that creators make. Your reactions have influences, obviously. You matter. But the creator gets to decide who they are and what their message is. Adler handled this situation perfectly by resetting expectations and continuing to simply be themselves. They didn't change who they are just because some people are under the puritanical perception that sexuality and wholesomeness should be mutually exclusive.
It is ok for your favorite creators to be sexual beings and to express themselves as much or as little as they want. How ever they choose to do this.
There will be a follow-up topic that we'll visit another day, but I'll present this to you now; The opposite-same issue. Please do not impose yourself or your sexuality on others. People don't want to hear about your fantasies with/of/about their characters. Just because I encourage sexual expression does not mean my legs are open to you. But again, this is a topic deserving it's own post.

Headcanons for ADHD characters Masterlist
I was asked for this a while ago and I feel this is a good discussion subject because the canon representation for ADHD is kind of abysmal and is often a caricature or a joke.
usual disclaimer, I'm not a therapist, this is not a diagnosis tool, just for fun, etc etc...basing this on my own experience/knowledge with ADHD and meeting a lot of ADHD people IRL. I'm going off the main symptoms first (inattention and/or hyperactivity, restlessness, impulsivity, problems with emotional/focus regulation, daydreaming, messiness, hyper-focus, fidgeting etc) and then looking at character traits that are not a necessary symptom but often associated (substance abuse and addiction, need to please, sensitivity to rejection, compassionate and creative, thrill seeking, very imaginative, charming and witty or withdrawn and shy or angry and irritable, whimsical and fun and a bit child-like, out of the box thinker, self esteem issues, unstable life, comorbidity with anxiety and depression, very intense feelings, functions better with adrenaline/in an emergency, disregard for rules and problems with authority OR extreme compliance, codependency, perceived as weird, clever in an atypical way, problems in school, extremely good at one specific thing, etc)
Also I found this list with actual canonical representation
BOOKS :
The 'fits to a T so I'm seeing it as my personal canon' list :
note : doesn't mean that the authors actually meant to create representation but it's very likely they at least got inspired by people who did have ADHD (even when the diagnosis itself did not exist) and explained it with 'it's just their personality' OR the story happens in a setting where the label doesn't exist as such. also not meant to be exhaustive.
- Helen Burns (from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë) One of Jane's school friends from the start of the novel, fits the inattentive type to a T : she can't seem to focus or learn her lessons, is constantly daydreaming, describes herself as messy and careless, forgets rules, and is easily distracted. She talks constantly about her own 'defective nature' and seems very sensitive to criticism but incapable of changing. She doesn't defend herself against the nuns' harsh punishments as she thinks she deserves them. She's presented as kind-hearted and compassionate, almost too good for this world, and hyperfocuses on her faith. Apparently sb even wrote an academic article on this. She dies so it's not super fun representation but it is interesting to see in an older book, to push back against the idea that ADHD was invented yesterday by Big Pharma lol.
- Grantaire (from Les Miserables, Victor Hugo) Part of the student revolutionary group Les Amis de l'ABC and resident skeptic, does not believe in the cause but is fixated on the group's idealistic leader (and yeah it sounds very gay, they die holding hands, there is a lot of Symbolism). He spends his time ranting about things that are only vaguely connected, is described as brilliant but incapable of sticking to any one profession or hobby, is an alcoholic, has a creative streak (was a painter at some point), likes wandering around the city, has massive self-esteem issues and is a general mess but does seem to care about his friends. This is not a very flattering portrayal as Grantaire is described as morally deficient but again, interesting in an old book. ADHD!Grantaire is a popular take in the modern fandom (i was in it before I was diagnosed it brought up a lot of Things) and it's very cathartic to see him get actual therapy in fic lmao.
- Luna Lovegood (from the Harry Potter series) JKR sucks but this is probably the most high profile case of a possible inattentive ADHD character so I didn't want to leave it out. She's a daydreamer, she is a big space cadet and seems to live in her own world, she has a very out of the ordinary sense of style, she's bullied for being weird, but she's also very kind and perceptive and cares a lot about her friends, and good at coming up with out of the box solutions. I wouldn't call it good representation, she's described as a wacko whom a lot of characters find cringeworthy but she's also pretty heroic, so. And she does seem to hyperfocus on magical creatures. Plus her father could also have it (and it runs in families).
- Jasper Fahey (from Six of Crows duology, Leigh Bardugo) Part of a young group of thieves with a heart of gold, he's a charmer and a compulsive gambler who quits college and incurs debts so massive he stops talking to his father out of shame. He's also an extremely talented sharpshooter and the scenes where he describes how the whole world slows and the rush of adrenaline when he is shooting sound like hyperfocus to a T. He's a loyal friend but also quite dependent on Kaz, the leader of the group, to keep him in line. He's witty, messy and he likes danger. His boyfriend later in the series, Wylan, is dyslexic and the way they learn to accommodate each other's issues honestly makes them one of my favorite couples ever. I need to reread these books and I am so stoked for the series I hope they do Jasper justice.
- Julian Diaz (from Cemetary Boys, Aiden Thomas) Love interest of the book, introduced as the 'high school resident bad boy', energetic motormouth who can't sit still and actually very endearing, has issues in school and gets bored easily, main problem is that he's a ghost...sort of. The whole thing was very cute and I love that Julian's personality is described as fun and attractive instead of annoying (which is, if you haven't noticed already, a pattern).
- Evie O'Neill (from the Diviners series, Libba Bray) She's a flapper in 1920s New York who ran away from her boring little town to make a life for herself ; she's a party girl and an impulsive thrill-seeker who hates standing still and is always looking for excitement to 'fill the void'. She craves fame and attention and pretty things, she can be a loyal friend but is also frequently self-centered and forgetful, she's street smart, resourceful and very charming and witty. She's also grieving, drinks too much and is definitely depressed. She's obviously meant as an archetype of the era, caught between trauma and excess, but it does come over as very hyperactive ADHD as well. Her powers to read objects also really pinged me as a good metaphor for the ADHD tendency to be overwhelmed by details.
The 'bit more of a reach but there's a vibe' list :
- Emma Woodhouse (from Emma, Jane Austen) Frequently cited as a character with ADHD, I didn't come up with this one but she fits. She's daydreaming, easily bored, has flights of fancy and hyper-focuses on matchmaking, is a bit impulsive and thrill seeking, clever in an unconventional way, described as a bit immature, mix of caring and self-centered.
- Ronan Lynch (from the Raven Cycle, Maggie Stiefvater) Ronan just has Neuroatypical Vibes, even though it's not entirely clear what, and I've seen people label him all sorts of things which is very valid. As for ADHD, he's restless, impulsive, likes to Go Fast and do street racing, he has very strong emotions he doesn't know what to do with, and big self esteem issues esp. at the start, is very all or nothing with people, snarky, drops out of school to be a magic farmer, problems with authority, looks like a scary mean goth but is actually a big softie (but like, with a few people), pulls shit out of his dreams. Is kind of dependent on his best friend at the start too.
- Sherlock Holmes (from the eponymous series by Arthur Conan Doyle) Again a character who has been diagnosed with all sorts of things. The biggest ADHD vibe for me is 'my mind rebels at stagnation' and the way he needs drugs to function outside of the thrill of a case, and the way he hyper-focuses on information he needs to be a detective while completely ignoring common knowledge. Also sort of dependent on his best friend Watson and isn't great at social interactions. Doesn't care much about upholding social conventions either. The RDJ adaptation is the one that has the most ADHD vibes to me.
- Harley Quinn (DC Comics/Movies) Big codependency issues (that's arguably the thing she's most known for) and sadly people with ADHD are often prone to getting into abusive relationships. It depends on the story too but she's very energetic, zany, impulsive, she likes shiny things and bright clothes, she's fun and chaotic and likes to break the rules, she's a criminal but she does seem to have a heart, she's also frequently immature and rash, etc.
What are your headcanons ? I would love to hear if you have some so I can add them to the list. I'll make a TV/Movies list soon.

i’m looking thru their blog and i don’t think they’re a bad person, this might be a big misunderstanding
Okay so I just woke up and am now just responding to this.
So this was kind of what I was worried about. Because I blocked them not because they are a bad person.
But again because of my own health.
First off let’s clear something else. In the course of the last day. I never meant to say someone’s a bad person. And I specifically said multiple times in several posts that was not my intent.
I think as someone whose CI/disabled and didn’t present at birth. That one take that I’ll give them credit for removing was a poor take. And that was an ableist take since it is disability erasure.
I may have let my temper go off last night. But again I can’t emphasize this enough. I am currently really sick. And so everything is running short right now.
But I’ll give them credit for realizing it was a bad take and redacting it.
I’m still a bit concerned that them redacting it. Since removing it doesn’t necessarily mean they learned. In my experience the two don’t necessarily mean the same thing. I hope they did.
I never once meant being ableist means your a bad person. And again that take and gate keeping disability by saying you can only be born with it when an acquired disability is a thing. Is kind of ableist.
I don’t think and I tried to repeatedly say this. Being ableist necessarily makes you a bad person. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t understand ableism and what can be classified as that. And I’ve definitely done some stupid shit that could be classified as that when I was younger.
Denying aids and erasure of a character is a behavior of it. But and I’ve said this elsewhere. One trait doesn’t make an entire person. And I like to think people are better than that. And just occasional shit doesn’t make them necessarily ableist.
One Ableist behavior does not necessarily make for an ableist person depending on how they are. Does not necessarily make for a bad person.
Repeated behavior is questionable.
But since I didn’t have have the energy and don’t want to unblock. I am not going to say one way or another what they are. I don’t know them. I don’t know their behavior as a whole.
But that statement as someone who is CI and didn’t present really until her 20s though I had early signs in my teens. Made me extremely uncomfortable.
And me blocking them was because the whole thing was getting out of hand. And was starting to me feel like I was going to be called a bad person because they weren’t listening to my multiple pleas of ‘this is what I meant please stop putting words in my mouth’. Which was leading to a possible melt down.
I am allowed to block people when I feel like it isn’t healthy to engage. That is 100 percent a thing I or anyone can do.
Maybe one day I’ll consider unblocking. But the likelihood is low and it won’t be for quiet a while because last night left me uncomfortable. And I in general once I get that way around someone. It takes a long time to reverse course on that. I tend to have a long memory when it comes to behavior or name calling.
That being said this fandom as a whole does have an issue with ableism. It’s partly why While I do post to it I’ve kept to smaller circles when interacting a lot.
Along with everything with Eda.
The issue with calling Luz dense and not understanding how hyperfocusing works beyond a larger fandom scale. When Dana has said that’s kind of why she missed the memo because of Edas curse and being focused on that.
The fact that at one point someone over on FB. That me saying Luz is canonically disabled in the view of the Isles. Thought I was calling her a bad word essentially.
There are toxic behaviors within the fandom. Ableism is one of them. But I’m not calling everyone necessarily ableist. People are far more complex than that. Just that there’s an issue and it needs to be talked about. And should be addressed.
Because I want this fandom to be better.
That’s why I talk about this.
Not to call someone on an individual basis necessarily bad.
But to ask the fandom as a whole to be better
#anon#the owl house#fandom discourse#response#Luz noceda#sighs and massages forehead#fics going to be late today#for anyone wondering about that#long post

Im goin to sleep rn so i dont wanna do stuff but i want you to do this so have an untraditional tag
Oooh, this was fun Lucy!! Thank you :D
*I used orange as it’s one of my favourite colours XD
I’m going to explain them a little to say why I chose the shading I did! Or at least for most of the characters XD
Atsushi - I like him as a main character however I don’t have much attachment towards him beyond that so I only filled it up to around half-way. He’s kinda bland asadfdsasdfgfd maybe I shouldn’t say that but I can’t help but feel that way T-T
Dazai - The light of my Bungo Stray Dogs experience <3 I love Dazai a lot, he’s such a complex and interesting character and while the fandom frustrates me with how little they understand him which reflect a lot in their work about him, I still love him a lot and it hasn’t diminished my love for him. I get attatched to characters way too quickly and strongly T-T
Kunikida - I like him! I find his and Dazai’s dynamic really interesting. His ideals are a double-edged sword and we see time and time again on how often he’s confronted about them and how they’re constantly pulled into question.
Ranpo - Brat detective! I love him. He’s both the smartest member of the ADA and the dumbest and it’s such a combination T-T I am curious how he’d be able to solve a crime that relied on the knowledge of train times and tickets though considering he knows nothing about them...
Kyouka - Precious baby who must be protected at all cost. She’s cute and I’ve loved seeing her struggle to fit in with the armed detective agency. Her “first mission” is still one of the funniest things to watch. I’m kind of disappointed we haven’t had more Dazai and Kyouka bonding considering they’re both former members of the mafia.
Yosano - Waifu. I should have more shame in saying that but I can’t, I love her. That only grew even more when we got to learn her past and what she had to go through. It really makes you understand why she was so unforgiving towards Kaiji for his views on death when she fought him.
Chuuya - Short gremlin who I also care a lot for. His shading is brought down by the fact I’ve faced fatigue from the fandom using him as the mouthpiece to shame Dazai constantly and how the fandom ignores more of his negative (but very interesting) personality traits to do it. I also wish we got to see more of him in canon by I digress T-T
Akutagawa - He was like Atsushi for me at first, I liked him but found him a bit boring and so didn’t get really attached. But then the fandom happened, my lord does the fandom love to use what happened between him and Dazai to completely rip Dazai to pieces and yet then turn around and make Akutagawa and Kyouka best buddies <.< It’s like with Chuuya, the fandom ignores all his negative traits for some reason and hyperfocuses on Dazai’s instead and it’s tiring. I’ve grown to dislike Akutagawa because of that :(
Mori - I hate Mori but I do appreciate his character. He’s a horrible person but he’s not bad for the sake of it, he has reasons for why he is the way he is even if those reasons are fucked up logicial reasons. He’s an interesting villain to say the least (I just wish the fandom would stop turning him into Mafia Dad. Guys, Hirotsu is right there and has adopted four children already *I’m including Higuchi and Akutagawa*).
Oda - Oda revival when? asadfgfdsdfg I love Oda. I mourn for him very strongly because I want him back so bad but most people don’t write fix-it aus for him (I’m going to have to be the change I want to see T-T). I love him, he’s so interesting and I can see why Dazai was fascinated with him too. Shading brought down by the fact I’m sad he’s dead D:
Ango - Ango is another interesting character for me. I don’t like him but I appreciate his character. I know he’s not a bad person, in fact he’s going out of his way to help the ADA clear there name and helping Dazai despite how antagonistic Dazai feels about him and I appreciate him for that. But I’m still salty about the Oda thing T-T I also hate how the fandom have this bizarre insistance that Dazai should forgive him and move on (and yet other characters don’t have to do the same for Dazai) so my like is also brought down by that.
Francis - I liked him as a villain and I don’t mind his role as a mostly neutral entity in the story so far. Out of everything Francis wanted, bringing back his dead daughter wasn’t what I expected. I’d be interested in how he met Lovecraft because that seems like a story.
Poe - Lanky mystery goth/nerd who’s crush on Ranpo is really cute T-T I love his and Ranpo’s dynamic, it’s cute. Poe is just cute, if you looked up cute in a dictionary you’d see Poe’s picture next to it. Have I said cute enough yet?
Fyodor - Another villain I enjoy! I like smart villains and so I actually did enjoy the ADA and the PM teaming up to take him down in season 3. I want to learn more about him, though I do admit I was a bit put off with him when he and Dazai were able to speak in code somehow despite no code even existing between them...
The rest - There shading is based on how much I enjoyed their roles in the story so far rather than characterization. They don’t really have much characterization beyond Lucy and Oguri who aren’t exactly stand out characters for me. I’d be interested in learning more about Gin and her bond with Akutagawa but it’s kind of ignored and pushed to the side :(

romance headcanons
name: park tae-joon (alias: kim hyeon)
nickname: “Joon” !! Though generally the only people to ever call him that were Mila and Mystik. And “TJ,” maybe, I can see that one being thrown around a bit.
gender: male.
romantic orientation: he generally avoids relationships and is not extremely interested in others sexually or romantically, but it all comes down to the circumstances and particularly to how he connects with someone. He doesn’t care about the specifics of sex or gender — I do personally tend to lean towards writing gay relationships, but that’s a me thing, and I want to emphasise that it doesn’t really matter to Crypto. I’m generally willing to try what he is willing to!
preferred pet names: hasn’t had any to speak of.
relationship status: single, but might fuck around, might settle down and find happiness in a committed relationship with mirage apex legends, haha just kidding....... unless????
favorite canon/fandom ship: God I have a few... I know that Cryptage (Crypto and Mirage) is a really big thing for the fandom (fic author once called it a “rarepair” and i was like huh??? are you kidding fam), and I personally love exploring their dynamic with vanishout. They have a rough start, but there’s no other person Crypto loves more... im emotional over Them, and Crypto is honestly so smitten. Their ship make me happy
I am also a big fan of Crypto and Octane! Something I’m messing around with whilst writing with deathchasing. They’ve got a lot of potential to go places, where exactly I’m still unsure, but guess we’ll sort that out later. :)
I am generally interested in shipping anyone with Crypto if there’s enough chemistry or an interesting enough dynamic. The only other characters I have on the brain though that I want to ship Crypto with are Bloodhound, Caustic, and Gibraltar. As of now though, I haven’t really properly discussed a ship with anyone else but Julie and Kabu.
favorite crossover ship: I don’t really have any! I can’t really think on the spot of one, either. I haven’t really taken Crypto out of his default Apex verse yet, but I’m willing to try.
opinion on true love: It exists, that much he knows. Love is what carried Tae-joon through life even as an orphan on the streets with nothing to his name. It’s what helped him survive, because he worked and fought tooth and nail every single day for the people he loved. Mila, and later on Mystik, proved without a doubt to him that platonic love exists and is one of the most powerful forces he could know. Without them, I’m not sure where he’d have ended up. He believes in love, perhaps with more conviction than most things.
BUT as for romantic love... sure, he’s absolutely sure it exists. But he’s convinced it’s just not something he can have. Like... Tae-joon’s been through shit, earnt the life he had before the Games with his own blood, sweat, and tears. He knows full well that he has worth, that he is deserving — but the way the Syndicate directly and indirectly stripped him of everything that he loves and cares about really hit him hard. It’s tough for him to reach out and connect with people, and even tougher to allow himself to love again after he’s been taught time and time again that he will lose everything he has valued so dearly, worked so hard for.
And he’s afraid for the people that might be in a relationship with him; loving Crypto doesn’t just make him vulnerable, he puts anyone who cares about him in direct danger as well. In that sense, he doesn’t think he deserves love. Even if he found it with someone who’s willing to care about him, the guilt of making them a target for the Syndicate... bad. It’ll take a hell of an exceptional partner (willing to put themselves in danger and to convince him that they’re okay with this) for Tae-joon to reach a point where he believes he is allowed to have love, and that he deserves it.
opinion on love at first sight: "amused at first sight” more like when it came to Mirage. I don’t think he’s really met anyone he instantly feel in love with on sight though, not as Park Tae-joon and certainly not as Crypto... it’s not hard to feed into the craving for human affection and for someone who really cares when he does slowly edge closer to someone. Like, when he actually allows them to be near him and lets them start forging some bond of trust. Honestly, love is never the first thing on his mind when he meets people, not even when he was living a civilian life as Tae-joon; there were always more important things to focus on.
how ‘romantic’ are they?: Even before the Games, he didn’t really have a great way of going about expressing emotions and communicating how he feels, let alone when it comes to unfamiliar notions of romance. He’s not entirely emotionally stunted, but he has a way of hyperfocusing on work, on taking comfort in things mechanical more than human, and rarely lets people interrupt him when he’s on a roll. He’s fairly aloof, but once he loses his previous life and identity, he comes to a realisation that he took human affection and contact for granted. Unfortunately he has no choice but to live without it after that; I think getting into a relationship, he’d be massively awkward about it to start with, but would quickly warm up and learn to be affectionate. He wouldn’t go out of his way to be, but he definitely would know the importance of even the simplest of gestures. He’d make it a point to show he cares, because he knows it’s not always obvious to someone that they’re loved — even fi it may seem obvious to others. At heart, Tae-joon’s a very soft and very caring person and does try to show it where he can.
ideal physical traits: Doesn’t matter to him. If he starts to love someone, he WILL find attraction in someone inevitably whether they are conventionally attractive or not.
ideal personality traits: he is... weak for soft and kind people. also loves someone who can match him in terms of intelligence and ability, someone who is good with banter. a good sense of competition. people with drive and ambition. there’s probably a tonne more, but it’s just not coming to mind right now.
unattractive physical traits: Tae-joon grew up on the streets as a child, parentless and homeless. He saw it all. It wasn’t hard for him to learn that there’s far more admiration and beauty to found in other things than in the physical appearance.
One point I do want to cover though: He thinks the physical result of his own augmentations and implants are unattractive. They’re a huge part of his survival and certainly technological marvels (designed all by himself, though he found outside help to have them implanted). But having to virtually gut and replace so much of himself really dealt a blow to his whole concept of his humanity and physicality. He has trouble seeing himself as a person sometimes, much less an attractive one with the enhancements he’s gone through.
unattractive personality traits: stupidity. ignorance. unwillingness to learn. taking things for granted, wasting life away. selfishness and lack of empathy / sympathy for others. betraying the loyalty and the trust of the people who love you. complete lack of morals or ethics. acting like you’re something you’re not. people who view themselves above others (even though.. he often does... hahaha)
ideal date: He doesn’t really have any standard of one, not really having been on one before (though can bet that Mila has tried to hook him up multiple times with a blind date or something, they always fell through or Tae-joon just didn’t want to).
do they have a type?: not entirely, I do like to joke around that he’s into himbos though. One himbo specifically, but overall there’s not any real pattern... I guess he would like soft people capable of showing kindness, who are the exact opposite of him in the sense that they still see beauty and value in the world for all the cruel wreck that it is. People who are willing to be kind without expecting kindness back, who is... willing to show crypto that sort of kindness and teach it to him again 😳😳 people who allow him to be vulnerable and understand the place he’s coming from...
average relationship length: So we’re making up pure lies and saying that he’s had actual past relationships? Fuckin wig... but I think he would enjoy moderate to long-term relationships when he does actually get into them. Obviously, he’s not going to start something with ease (commitment is a bitch when you’re in his situation), but he’s not going to start a relationship with the intention of dumping the other person early on.
preferred non-sexual intimacy: i’m thinking he probably values non-sexual intimacy a lot more than sexual actually, especially since i’m exploring current ships where sexual intimacy is involved but human affection and connection isn’t... which, in turn, just makes tae-joon feel a hell of a lot more emotionally disconnected and lonely. He really values the comfort of just being close to someone, around them in close proximity without worry. Being there with them, listening to them speak and paying them attention even if he’s not the most vocal or performative person... there’s a very real comfort in that. Just leaning against someone, I think, sharing contact that isn’t even necessarily romantic. He just wants to feel, and be felt — that simple human connection is Wildly important for him.
commitment level: Really fucking incredible. Like really fucking incredible if you get him to care enough, help him to open up and allow himself to care.
opinion of public affection: It flusters him (though I think he could learn to like at least a little bit of it. Having someone he loves and can show off in a subtle sort of way), and he probably doesn’t ever allow it anyway on account of not wanting anyone with their eye on him to pick out vulnerabilities. He’s very careful about keeping any relationships during the Games highly secret — no point in putting someone he cares about in harm’s way, and honestly I don’t think he could stand losing another person after he puts in all the effort to learn to trust and to love again. Affectionate gestures in private though, as said, is all good with him.
past relationships?: once he talked to a girl on an online mmorpg and they traded items and he thinks he got the better end of the trade so that was pretty epic. But no, he hasn’t had any.

The Entire Weasley family
Oh boy here we go!So with good sense, I assume you mean Molly, Arthur, and their direct kids. Not those adopted/married to their kids, or their grandchildren. Cause that’s a list that’s borderline impossible to manage XD
Molly Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Molly is amazing. Like everyone she has her ‘perhaps too much’ moments, but overall, she’s just amazing. She raised seven kids, all of whom ended up brave people and wanted to change the world in so many different ways. She fed the entire Order of the Phoenix, as well as calling them on it whenever they seemed to forget just how YOUNG Harry was. And she always gave him the motherly affection she could tell he was starved for. And on top of that, she is literally a terrifying warrior who took down at least one of the most powerful Death Eaters in history.
Arthur Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
I adore Arthur. He looks at the world with so much wonder, even at his age. He sees what muggles manage to do without magic and is completely taken with them. He is a good father, not just to his kids, but like his wife he is also a good father figure to their friends. Pretty sure his obsession with learning about/tinkering with muggle objects is a trait that the twins got strongly, theirs is just more focused on pranks than muggle things. Not gonna lie, I sometimes entertain myself with my anxiety or boredom gets up by imagining how I’d explain something to Arthur.
Bill Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Uh, basically the magical equivalent of Indiana Jones? Like, on of my childhood dream jobs, basically. Very few jobs are as badass. A great older brother, totally cool, and apparently immune to veela charm. Also badass enough to survive an attack from the most vicious werewolf/one of the worst Death Eaters in history. The dude is awesome.(And as discovered in Hogwarts Mystery, apparently used to be a bit more nerdy and totally useless at romance. Adorable.)
Charlie Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
What’s more awesome than redheads or dragons? Redheads who work with dragons. He is absolutely dragon-crazy. Totally hyperfocused on his dream his entire life, and immediately went off to work at the sanctuary in Romania after graduating. He’s also sassy, loves his family dearly, and always tries to see the best in people. Not to mention he later should absolutely win Coolest Uncle Award. I love this nerd. ❤️(A number of times, his dragon obsession, ability to hyperfocus, and sass have reminded me of my real-life fiance. Who while not full ginger, does have a ginger beard, so he’s got some of the Weasley going on at least. 😉)
Percy Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
I could consider him cute in a nerdy sorta way, though he’s probably the one Weasley kid I just don’t see that way at all. He’s a little too Lawful Neutral for my personal taste. That said, I don’t dislike Percy like many do. He really truly believed in the rules being the right thing, and was very dedicated to standing by that. Eventually, despite his deeply rooted belief in upholding the law, even he couldn’t watch what his government was doing in the end and he rejoined his family in the fight. He was brave enough to face the family he had turned on for a time, and admit to them that he was wrong. That’s not actually all that common, and I seriously have to respect him for that.
George Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
*sigh* Its no secret to my friends that I have had a love for the twins for many many years. I love a good sense of humor. And they’re quite cute. And sort of have a bad-boy thing going without actually being bad people. George always struck me as the slightly more quiet of the two. Slightly.I love their ambition, their ability to keep trying to make light of any situation, even in the darkest times. They both truly played a huge part in keeping up the morale of whoever they could during the second war. Its a trait I not only admire strongly, but really truly wish to emulate.
Fred Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Give me a minute...still crying...One character death in any fandom I will never get over. Same delightful quirks as his twin, many written above, and with an added level of ballsiness. I was crushing on the twins for a loong time, but especially Fred. 😭Like I said. Not over it. Never will be.
Ron Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Ron was my first crush in the franchise. I can identify with wanting to make something of yourself, feeling like you’re constantly in someone else’s shadow. But not letting it get in the way of your loyalty to your friends when push comes to shove. He helped break curses at age eleven? Twelve? Becomes Prefect, and Keeper for Gryffindor. Rode a dragon at seventeen. Marries a future Minister of Magic. Becomes an Auror. Helps run Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Despite all his insecurity, he stays loyal to the end, AND lives up to each of his older siblings. That’s pretty baller. I’ll always have a fondness for Ron.
Ginny Weasley
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Weasley women be rightly terrifying. Like each of her parents and siblings, she is fierce, ambitious, caring, loyal, and steadfast. Survives being controlled and nearly killed by one of Voldemort’s horcruxes. And still stands strong. Even when having to relive the experience when dementors came to Hogwarts. Befriended Luna Lovegood, who was treated like a bit of a pariah by others for her different way of viewing things. Totally badass at quidditch, enough to eventually play professionally. Helped lead students in the second Dumbledore’s Army at sixteen, during the school year. And later on in life, jinxed Rita Skeeter like we’d all love to.Yeah, she marries Harry, but you know what, she was plenty amazing completely on her own, and by her own decisions.
I love the Weasleys so much you have NO idea.

@saddestlittlebaby-intheroom
First off: thank you for replying. I apologize if I came off unnecessarily harsh, but frankly, I didn’t really think you were gonna be interested in talking--I mostly made that reblog for anyone else in the be m/ore chill tag who saw your post and checked the notes.
I don’t know if I’ll reply in depth anymore after this. This post is long, and took a lot out of me.
While, yeah, most people who headcannon it are trans, as someone who’s bi, the treatment of how being bi is Jeremy’s only personality trait kinda annoys me.
... well, I mean. If these are queer people, specifically queer kids, hyperfocusing on his queerness and making their content all about his queerness... maybe there’s a valid reason?
Fandom, specifically, is one of the first avenues kids today get to explore being aaaaanything but cishet. When a part of you so fucking massive that it DOES, actually, radically change your personality, gets pushed down and oppressed, you’re gonna wanna fixate on it when you get the chance to try--at least, a lot of people will. Maybe not you, and that’s fine.
But I implore you: rethink your takeaway. Your OP directly shames the people doing this, and makes it sound like the people who do it must not truly understand transness--and considering that, again, the majority are trans, that is actively harmful. That’s my biggest issue.
(and... yes. I am using queer as an umbrella term. Queer is used as not only a community term, but an academic one, so if you’re not okay with being called queer, just tell me and I won’t refer to you as such... but I will still use it.)
I totally understand where you’re coming from, and I’m not trying to say that GNC trans men don’t exist, but it’s the way people portray them as basically just being soft trans bois with no other personality outside of being trans that annoys me. It’s not even just that, I feel the fandom basics reduces down any character to just their sexuality or their gender, and as someone who’s bi, it kinda pisses me off that people just state that such and such a character is gay, bi or trans, and then everything just becomes about that. People are more then their sexuality or gender, this is LITERALLY what the LGBT community has been fighting for for years, and now the newer generation wants to just snatch being gay or being trans as a quirky personality.
That’s... not what we’ve been fighting for, actually.
I’m not going to get as in depth with this as others could bc I don’t have the spoons to write up an entire essay on the problems with what you said, but, I mean, for one thing, we’ve been fighting for the right to exist. Not to prove we’re “more then our identities”--that’s not the point at all. Our identities are fine. We need to be allowed to be the people we are, and if you truly believe in a “live and let live” philosophy, you cannot shame people for prioritizing a massive part of their live experience. Being queer changes everything. It is NOT the newer generation that suddenly decided to change this; things like found families, queer communes, whole bubbles of ‘safe spaces’ hidden away from society were all the fucking rage waaaaaay before the internet came around.
Just because what used to be hidden out of sight is now finally reaching the public at large doesn’t mean these concepts are somehow fuckin invalid.
I kinda wished I actually touched on that as well about how Jeremy and Michael are always just sad boys who cry a lot. That annoys me as well because the rest of their personalities is thrown completely out the window, just so they could cry a lot for no real reason. And as someone who literally can’t get through a day without crying, I just wanna say it’s not cute. It’s actually really fucking annoying, both for myself and everyone else.
So much of fandom is used as venting. These sad boy portrayals--why do you think they exist? Do you think the majority of the fans are romanticizing depression? Because, personally, again, I think you’re talking down to people who are literally going off their own life experiences and their own mental illness. No. Real life crying isn’t cute. Good thing this is fandom, where making characters suffer is a GREAT way to work through shit, which is the case for most of the kids who might see your post.
When I talk about ‘kink material’, I mean the whole idea of being trans has become a kink to a certain group of people. It lessens the idea that being trans is actually an important issue, just for some soft angst then can be cured with a few kisses and snuggles. So, not exactly a kink in the typical sense, but more that, again, being trans is an idea that’s meant to be ‘soft and cute’.
‘a certain group of people‘ ... ‘just for some soft angst then can be cured with a few kisses and snuggles’
I’m guessing you’re truscum. I sorta was too, in high school. I’m not touching that specifically because it is a whole other can of worms, but I wanted to point out something.
We established most of the people talking about trans headcanons are, well, trans. Right? Okay.
So why do you think trans people somehow don’t know the harsh realities of being trans?
This is, again, fiction. Why would you assume they just don’t get it, and why are you bothered by people glossing over whatever they don’t care to talk about in fandom, where you don’t have to talk about whatever you don’t like.
The exact idea of my post was that trans people aren’t supposed to be infantilized?????
Yeah. The problem is that you were, in fact, infantalizing people.
I never stated to talk for everyone, let alone the trans community, just in my experience, the trans people I’ve talked to have been extremely uncomfortable with the portrayals specifically trans Michael and Jeremy.
Except we are talking about trans people overwhelmingly making these headcanons. Which means the people you talk to would be outliers. But more then that... I’m sorry, but their discomfort isn’t important. Block people, block tags, move on.
I’m not saying you’re not allowed to have your portrayal, just that people kinda need to make sure that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
That is 100% fine. I agree.
And no, don’t worry, I’m not going to go around attacking people for how they portray a certain character. Yeah, maybe I’ll make a post about it or whatever, but I’m not going to go around personally attacking people by tagging them in posts, commenting on their posts, direct messages, etc.
That’s good. But I am quite bothered by you making this post on the main fandom tag, tagged a couple of different things, and made it so people would see your post. Just... if you’re gonna make a post like that, please ease up on the implications that the people who disagree with you are badly treating their own identities
But if people are allowed to make trans Jeremy and Michael, or even just cis Jeremy and Michael, extremely soft, then I’m allowed to speak against it.
You’re allowed to discuss it, yes. I certainly don’t like some portrayals, and I’ve talked about them before, in the tag in fact. But you went way beyond discussion and into active, negative judgment of people. If you’re going to do that (trust me, I’ve had to vent some things before), please DON’T put it in the main tag, at the very least.
YKINMK.
