SBMS Clowning Series ☀️ v.6 { finale }

It was a good run and we have been fed very well. if something else comes up then i’ll post an extras version of this clowning series. ^^

this scene at the finale, where they won a production award and jian bing was making her speech. how she said that last year, she gained a good production partner ( referring to shengyang ) and like you could tell that it wasn’t just work related that’s she is talking about. it reminds us of that time in TTXS where WYB said that in the past year, he gained a good friend — XZ. and like we (cpfs) believe that it’s more than that, they both gained a life partner.

this is another example of what seems to be a trend in this drama. lol. maybe because it’s modern so they can use these scenes & lines. i don’t know. the coincidences and similarities of things that happened to them irl making it in the drama is something we can’t ignore.

• In XZ studio’s post, they shared more behind the scenes photos and the caption:

when you encounter a beam of light named shengyang, remember to return him to the sun☀️

it’s similar to what zz said before in an interview when talking about WWX. He said, return him to the one he loves ( LWJ ).

there is also a photo where you could see the number 9. It’s actually 19, which is in reference to the event his character in the show is attending. they blurred out almost all of the background to emphasize on him so why leave the 9? Maybe they can cause the big event in the finale is this award and him going onstage with Jian Bing. I’m a clown so the 9 is a great coincidence because who just celebrated their 9th debut anniversary???

• GG’s finale post on his weibo account too. Let’s clown on the time of posting, 19:50 9/5. Also how he mentions the sun which is supposedly to describe Shengyang and the name of the show itself. But the photo he shared is that of a sunflower. He really loves it. It’s why 🌻 is such a favorite symbol among BXGs!

Well, a lot of people did question his motives when he posted that. There were people, including c-turtles, who were suspicious that he might be trying to get attention. This is just a normal thing that happens whenever a celebrity does anything appearing to link themselves to other celebrities in some way. Even publicly wishing a happy birthday to someone can get them accused of that.

There are a couple of things, though, that separate what he did from what she did. For one thing, he never mentioned or implied GG and DD in any way in his post. Fans deduced it from the situation/timing (just after the whole trip rumor was running wild), his words (talking about 'loving bravely'), and from the image that he posted (using GG and DD's colors with a yellow background and graphical elements that are related to the rumor). There was no way a random passerby would ever associate anything in his post with GG and DD.

Cheng Yi, on the other hand, was directly talking about a romantic relationship between GG and DD in her post. She was talking about the recording of Wuji, which she was present for, posting video of them, posting cartoons depicting them, etc. So even though she never mentioned their names, she did directly connect herself to them in no uncertain terms. Anyone viewing the post who knew who GG and DD are would know it was about them.

I think that's why people were a bit more suspicious of her than they were of Huang Ziteng. Not just because she was identifying them as the clear subject of her post, but also because she was talking openly about them being in love - as someone who knew them personally - without labeling it as fake.

As for my position on all this - I don't think Huang Ziteng was trying to get attention. He almost never posts on Weibo, but he posted that. If GG and DD had any issue with it, they would have asked him to take it down. It's still up there last I checked. And I think GG drew the picture, too, which I talked about more here.

Cheng Yi is a different issue. I am still a bit wary about someone who personally knows them speaking so openly as a turtle, without labeling it as fake. That's mainly just my turtle brain throwing up alarms when something isn't following normal turtle protocol to protect GG and DD. I talk about my feelings about all that in detail here.

ep31: (2/2): they're bad! they're bad!

this moment is just done so well. the dramatic shots, the slo-mo falls, the shocking spurts of blood, wwx's trembling horror, this final shot of jzx dead on the ground. excellently made

xz's expression is killer here. he just nailed the sickening shock and horror and despair and terror of what just happened. jzx's death has both massive far-reaching political consequences and extremely painful and close personal ones as well

like this, this is devastating. they were waiting for him! they wanted to see him!

I saw a post ages ago about how 🥺 they were all dressed up nicely they planned this! and I think that's a bit dumb because obviously they're dressed nicely and what exactly did they even plan since jc and wwx's plan consisted of 'make it known that the jiangs and wwx are finished' and it was lwj who suggested the invite and jyl who requested her husband to go through with it so I'm not giving jc any credit here

was this meant to be comedic because omg

xl's performance here was also SO devastating. you can see the moment the rug is ripped out from under her - there's that sudden, sickening emptiness swooping in your gut that I think she conveys rly well. and jc is so concerned for her too oof

wwx being constantly badgered by the resentful spirits he controls...

wwx is truly at his breaking point here. he has never attacked wen ning, never been aggressive towards someone innocent. and it just shows how deeply upsetting this is - and not just for himself and jyl but for his baby nephew too!

he's also questioning his decisions. not reminiscing or regretting, but actively questioning himself and his choices. wwx has never had to wonder, he's always been so confident in the right path even when it hurts him

god, hearing him ask this like a lost child is really sad. the world just pushed him to this place

first of all who is a-shu second of all WHY WOULD YOU SAY THIS AND THEN EVERYONE LEAVES??? at LEAST tell him about the baby. this bothers me every time it is the single most annoying plot hole in this show

in the novel, there's some really unpleasant scenes in the beginning where wwx climbs into bed with lwj in hopes of being kicked out of CR and lwj slaps a paralyzer on him for it and they just sleep like that which I feel like would be a really awkward and uncomfortable situation to be in but after this scene I feel like it wouldn't be surprising if wwx has genuine trauma related to be made immobile

the last time this happened, myu tied him up and sent him away from his home, about to be destroyed, about to die. and now wn and wq are keeping him paralyzed while they tell him about their plans to turn themselves in, facing death and worse. and wwx is absolutely powerless to help them. I can imagine being paralyzed as trigger for him, putting him back into some of the most traumatic and guilty and grief-laden moments of his life. but of course nothing wwx and lwj ever do with each other is anything but mildly awkward at worst

I do remember that wwx liked being tied up later after they're together but I actually understand that. playing with something that can be/was used to hurt you in the past but it's something you have control over so you're able to play with it and make it something safe and fun. I do think a lot of fics go too far with it and I don't really see kinkiness for their cql selves but I get it in theory. anyway

wwx is still trying to survive this. he's not an optimist, really, he's just refusing to give up. and wq is more pragmatic. she knows the world she's living in. and she loves wwx

so so sad how even though wwx has sacrificed so much and hurt so much for others, he still bears guilt for not being able to do more. it's not fair! there's so much suffering in this series

but still, shouldn't ONE person have stayed? to look after the toddler? he was FEVERISH when lwj found him! to look after wwx? he's been paralyzed for days and he doesn't have a golden core

god you know I usually see these tragedies filtered through wwx's experienced because he's my focal point, but this is so fucking tragic just for their sakes. they're ready to die here. and the jins will scatter their ashes to the wind

back to jyl, who's looking miserable enough to make me sad too

the funny thing is, jyl's story is very sad but she still has a chance. she's of noble birth. she'll reincarnate. and yet it's her scenes with wwx that still hurt my heart

the wens met a more tragic end but I was so happy when they carved out a place for themselves and lived their lives with wwx. it was a joyful little community. maybe because by the end, their story seems resolved. even if there was no justice, wen ning and lsz are alive and they'll honor their memory. but the jiang siblings don't have a clean ending. there's still a bleeding wound there, even at the very end. one sibling lost, and one warped beyond all recognition into a hateful and vile thing.

I never really got over jyl's death. maybe it'll be different this time

I want to share something with you ❤

I wanted to write something about how I got to know Xiao Zhan. It's something really personal, but I want to share with you guys how much XZ means to me. Also, I'm not very good with words and I'm not an English native speaker, so I hope you can understand if there are some mistakes hahahaha.

So, last year was very terrible for me. I had serious problems related to my mental health, maybe because of stress and anxiety about university, I'm not sure. I felt like a stranger to the reality I was living and I was terrified to lose control of myself. It's very hard to explain how I felt, but it was scary and I couldn't get over it in any way. I began to feel this way in June, but since it was summer vacation, I spent summer at home. My mom was with me in every moment and she tried so hard to help me. In September, I had to go back to the university (the university I attend is far away from my hometown), but I wasn't fine at all. Also, knowing that I would be far away from my family made me even more anxious. My friends helped me a lot during that time (something I will be forever grateful for). But after a bit, I understood that I needed help, so I finally decided to contact the university's psychologist. This was a big and important step for me: she made me understand what my problems were originating from and slowly I started to get better. But most importantly, in October I watched The Untamed for the first time. Before watching the drama, I watched the animated series and read the novel. The first character that I fell in love with the first time I watched the animated series couldn’t be anyone but Wei Wuxian. He's the embodiment of what I like in people: he has a sunny disposition, he’s always cheerful, someone who tries to face difficulties with his head held high and someone who wants to help people risking his own life. His love for people who are the most important for him penetrated into my bones and my soul. Xiao Zhan was able to bring to life a wonderful character and to embody him in every way. But the thing that has captivated me about him in the first place is his smile. Xiao Zhan gifted this character the most beautiful and radiant one. Bright like the sun in a cold winter day or like the stars in a summer night without moon. His smile made me fall in love with Xiao Zhan, his smile saved me. I wanted to know XZ better, know more about this person with such a beautiful smile, so I made a lot of researches and watched a lot of videos about him. I watched his previous dramas and his debut program (I got to know all X Nine members, they are amazing too ❤❤❤). I started to follow XZ and thanks to him, I finally found some motivation to pull myself together. In one of the darkest moment of my life, Xiao Zhan helped me to find myself again and to gain control of my life. Of course, my friends and my family were the ones who were always by my side supporting and encouraging me in every step I made, but he was the one who rescued me from myself thanks to his brightness. I will always be grateful to him for this.

Well, from that moment, I got better and better. I'm always terrified to come back to that state and, well, I still have my anxiety and worries, but now that I have him in my life, brightening my world with his presence, I'm more confident. He is not only an actor that I stan, he's so much more for me. Also, his positive attitude, his personality, his strength, his bravery, his intelligence, his kindness, all of him inspire me everyday to become the better version of myself. Xiao Zhan is special to me. Like I said before, I'm proud and honored to stan such an amazing person like him. Before knowing him, I've never followed a celebrity. I liked watching anime and reading manga (well, I still do) and of course I had favourite characters, but they were never such an emotional support to me as Xiao Zhan is. I would never have imagined that a celebrity could become so important to me or that I could love a celebrity so much. But I'm not regretting anything. I will continue to stay by his side, just like how he did for me.

Sorry for this long (and probably stupid) monologue and thank you for reading this. I love you guys ❤

hmm ok, to answer your question: out of the characters, I would very much like to befriend either nie huaisang or lan sizhui :’D they seem chill and I would love to talk about art with nhs and the world with lsz ^^ tho I can feel you with the ladies! they are amazing and deserve so much more appreciation! I just feel like I would be too intimidated by all of them and their beauty :’D from the cast members I would choose wang zhuocheng! he’s such a sweet guy and seems fun to be around :’D I feel like we could just do silly stuff together, build legos, talk about harry potter, and eat good food XD I think I also know the most about him (if we don’t count xiao zhan and yibo) bc I adore his doujin updates and all of his photos and listening to him sing :’) he is just so bright? and has an amazing voice!

Hello, i hope im not offending you or anyone with this q...but the thought just came to me After Shijie riped a new on on JZXun, Mdm Jin insinuate that WWX might have bad intentions towards JYL... Saying things like "they are both adults, people will talk if its only the both of you" ya know So my question is, would it be a bad if WWX were to marry JYL? Everyone knows they see themselfves as sibling,but other obivously dont, cuz they have no blood tie n WWX's father was the Jiangs servant (cont)

(Cont) and since my dad is a fan of old chinese series I know that The Majesty can take sisters and marry both and produce heirs with both, even XZ’s other show Battle Break Through Heaven - the protag seems to be in love with his own cousin And according to google they got married in the end, as eveyone (in the animation?/novel) expected them too - so for them incest is not taboo Cuz there are cases where the house heir marries the general to secure the safely n sanctity of main clan rite?

Would it be bad for them to get married? Absolutely. Are there in-universe reasons why Madam Jin (and others) would think it would be possible? Also yes. Basically, it comes down to what the audience knows, versus what each of the characters know and feel.

I’m going to add a disclaimer here that The Untamed is my only experience with cdrama/wuxia/xianxia. I have no other frame of reference except the show, meta/analyses I’ve read since joining the fandom, and my own personal position on these issues.

Putting under a read more because it’s long and I know some won’t want to read.

The Yunmeng Sibling Perspective

WWX and JYL are brother and sister. That is how they view one another and how they relate to each other.They grew up together. JC and WWX shared a room. As far as the three of them are concerned JYL’s  relationship to WWX is exactly the same as her relationship with JC. In no world are they going to view each other as a potential romantic partner.

The Audience Perspective

We, as the audience, have the benefit of seeing the whole story more or less from WWX’s point of view. With that, we can know exactly how he sees JYL (as his older sister) and how she sees him (as her younger brother). I know there are those out there who can have and will argue that step/adopted/foster sibling relationships are not ‘incest’ because they���re not blood relationships. I am not one of them. Siblings are siblings, blood or no. Shipping JYL/WWX (or WWX/JC while we’re at it) is an absolute no-go for me.

Other In-Universe Characters

This is where it gets messy. My personal take is that no-one in the main generation (the generation studying at Cloud Recesses together when WWX is 15/16) would view JYL and WWX spending time together unsupervised as inappropriate. That generation has seen the Yunmeng Trio together and knows them as siblings.

It’s the parents generation that causes the problems here, and all the time in canon lbr.

Within the frame of reference the parent generation has, considering WWX as a potential husband for JYL would be no different to considering MianMian as  wife for JZX, or an LSZ/LJY match  in the junior generation. It’s why Madam Jin says what she does in the episode in question.

They’re disciples in the same sect, but they’re not family, either by adoption or blood. WWX belongs to the Jiang Sect, but not the Jiang Clan. This is why WWX addresses JYL as shijie [elder sect/martial sister] while JC addresses her as jiejie [elder sister].

This is, solely and completely, on Madam Yu. She hates WWX, is jealous of him on JC’s behalf, secretly believes he is JFM’s love child, and basically there is no way she permits him to be legally adopted as JFM’s son. In her mind Jiang Wuxian is far too much of a threat to JC and his inheritance. This is made worse by her belief that JFF prefers WWX over JC.

Which all means that her sworn sister Madam Jin, by extension, is not going to recognise WWX as a brother to JYL anymore than Madam Yu does.

Other Examples

I don’t really have much frame of reference for the examples you provided. A King/Emperor marrying two sisters and having heirs with them seems politically odd (why concentrate favour on one family like that?) and also weird but it’s not incest. Forcing the sisters to marry or be romantically/sexually involved with each other would be.

As for marrying a cousin, well, that’s a whole other thing, especially in a context where ‘cousin’ could mean anything from ‘our parents are siblings’ to ‘hey seven generations ago your grandfather was my grandmother’s half sister and that’s why I have a claim to the throne’.

Anyway

tl;dr canon JYL and WWX are siblings and would never see each other as a romantic option.

Can you pull a Madam Jin and ship them? Sure. Could you have an au with WWX raised by another sect and ship, say, Nie Wuxian with Jiang Yanli? Also sure. Would I, personally, read something with those dynamics? Absolutely not under no circumstances. But hey, that’s the beauty of fandom.

In one of the roadshows, a btf cast mate was talking about yibo and said: Then every time he eats a healthy meal, he will have small pickles with a dip of soy chili and cilantro that he will eat with great relish. Wow. WYB seemingly with his homemade side dish? this surely reminds us of his Sauced Beef during LOF shoot. Who could this be from? Chili? 👀 I’m not removing the possibility that it could be from someone else, like his own mother, but knowing the history with sauced beef — it seems more likely that it’s from his in-law. Also with how the story was told, it seems like WYB is not sharing, he’s eating it on his own and is very happy with it 😂😂😂😂

this also brings up the discussion of lele bring this camping bag where you can store food too. Which we noticed around 11/30/22, so it could be that it stores his food 🥹🥹🥹

In the same video, it was said that WYB can fry/cook beef, chicken breast and broccoli! omg! HAHAHAHA! Our dear yibo has finally become capable in making food for himself. Who is teaching him? Well this aligns to the recent fake rumor, where ZZ was teaching him via video call how to make a dish. I love domestic stories like this and the fact that WYB is learning how to cook! for himself and probably for his ZZ so he can prepare food for him. Their love language has always been food. From 2018 where they always made sure the other is eating well upto now, even if they don’t see each other often — they will find a way.

2. GG was spotted wearing Li-ning’s bruce lee shoes early 2022, around the same time WYB was shooting BTF. and we see that Lei Yu is a fan of Bruce Lee. This may be a long shot but it’s cute to see GG probably wearing cause of Lei Yu, who we knew nothing about at the time. He has so many shoes to choose from and he’s not even promoting this line at the time so it’s interesting.

3. Zhao Ziqi who is a cast mate of WYB @ Born To Fly was seen watching ADLAD! lol. People are saying she has a friend in the play, but we’ve seen this before, cast mates of XZ also watched Hidden Blade. The circle is small. Those who support openly may not be the people we are very familiar with.
