Okay, I know the current thought is that Vi’s death triggered Silco and Vander’s reunion and thus the birth of Zaun as a thriving society, etc.

But I keep getting stuck on Silco’s eye…

Like, it just looks so healthy and healed, like he’s never injected Shimmer into it. And the Silco we meet at the beginning of S1 is def using Shimmer already, and also has been working with Singe to make it something he can deal on the streets and use to gain power.

So I don’t think Silco and Vander reconciled after Vi’s death, I think they reconciled closer to Vander trying to kill Silco. I think Silco went back to their place in the mines and found Vander’s letter. Just like Silco’s eye isn’t severely damaged, their relationship didn’t have time to fester and rot. They forgave and moved forward.

Which also means that when Vi died, Vander isn’t the only one who lost a daughter. Silco lost one, too.

headcanon that Ford reads an article about how girls as young as Mabel’s age start getting very self conscious about their appearance due to intense beauty standards on women. Ford thinks about Mabel and says “not on my watch!”

From then on he takes any opportunity to compliment Mabel’s appearance so she feels confident

Mabel: look! I made a dress! How do I look?

Ford: absolutely stunning! Stan, look at what a beautiful young lady our dear niece is!

Mabel: okay before we start the campfire I’m gonna go get something to tie my hair back so it doesn’t catch on fire haha

Ford: even if it did, you’d still be the most adorable young lady I’ve ever met!

Mabel, just woken up, hair completely a mess, eyes barely open
