#And even when they DONT like with WindClan or SkyClan they seem to go out of their way to put cousins together??

Which Clan‘s family tree/genetic diversity is the worst? Which is the best?
Shadowclan is a fucking pretzel. It's so bad I wasn't able to save it. I was able to fix ThunderClan with some sacrifices, but ShadowClan is utterly, completely fucked.
Even before making any fixes, I had to map out the tree for Modern ShadowClan and Yellowfang's Secret. It's obscene. The tree from Yellowfang's Secret is DEAD, which created a grotesque genetic bottleneck.
There's 21 active warriors in modern ShadowClan and 11 of them are directly tied to Snowbird.
Sunbeam does not HAVE any male options she could possibly have non-inbred kittens with except Blazefire OR HER MENTOR, OR her mentor's brother.
It's bad. It's bad bad bad bad.
The best tree genetically is WindClan... but that's not a compliment either. It's full of 'orphan warriors' with unknown parents who came out of nowhere; and ALL of those orphan warriors are male.
Shellfur took the ONE clean molly out of WindClan for himself.
But... anyway... to fix the WindClan family tree, you just need change the parents of Onestar OR Ashfoot. You can even eliminate ALL instances of inbreeding by also changing the parents of Deadfoot or Sorrelshine. Very, very easy tree to fix.
#In order of WORST to BEST is; ShadowClan ThunderClan RiverClan SkyClan WindClan#Family tree#warrior cats family tree#It's sad that the writers don't have One Guy to track the tree#it really wouldn't be hard to just. have a set of rules like I do and check to make sure you're not saturating the tree with one family#75% of all tree problems come down to one character having too many reproductive kits of their own#If they JUST limited TWO kits per couple going on to have kits of their own it would be so much better#But instead they tend to have families like SnowScorch or LionCinder decimate the gene pool once per generation#And even when they DONT like with WindClan or SkyClan they seem to go out of their way to put cousins together??#It's gross. I don't like it.#They also have a penchant for deciding that the cleanest possible characters just don't want kits. That's happened thrice in ThunderClan.#Twigbranch Mousefur Mousewhisker#And like I respect the characters for not wanting kits of course BUT#As a writing choice? It's very frustrating that it's ALWAYS the ones that aren't inbred.

If you had to pick new leaders and deputies for each clan and the tribe, instead of who would you personally pick- who would make for the most interesting picks?
how did i JUST see this omg this is such a good question
lets see.... ill be using darkness within allegiances!
first, thunderclan. ok, hear me out— lilyheart for leader. shes super experienced with young cats, having raised twig and violet alongside her own litter AND being a grandma already, and shes been shone to be very compassionate, caring, and a good warrior all around. she was made a warrior for her brave spirit, and all around i think shed be a good pick— but a surprising one. despite her popularity in the clan, i doubt any cat would expect her to be a leader, but i think shed embrace the position. for her deputy, i think spotfur could be an interesting pick considering that she’s pregnant and that she might not initially even want the position, considering stemleaf. but i think shed warm to the idea over time and learn to enjoy being second in command.
second, riverclan. hmm... i dont remember any of their current warriors’ personalities, honestly, except for minnowtail. so lets go with minnowtail! from what i vaguely recall of her, she seems.... confident? and with a soft exterior but a tough personality. i think losing the trust of her clan by training in the dark forest would be humbling for her, and that now that shes slowly regained it (judging by her being entrusted with numerous apprentices), she might be ready for the next step in her growth. as for a deputy, maybe sneezecloud! he stood up against bramblestar by joining the rebels’ meeting questioning his behavior, and i think minnowtail would appreciate a cat standing against evil after her own experience with it. that, and minnows current apprentice, splashpaw, is his daughter— maybe these experiences let them become friends and thus she makes him her deputy.
windclan.... hm. i definitely think breezepelt would make an interesting choice for leader. hes been a pretty shit person for awhile, but his redemption was rather nice to see, though i dont think its made him soft at all and hes def not perfect. i think his feelings would still get away from him as a leader and definitely lead to some rash action on his part when it comes to clan diplomacy. might see more of that onestar-era aggression as a result of breezepelts temper. he isnt very trusting and has few friends from what i recall, so hed probably pick heathertail for deputy. another splash of the nepotism we know and love in warriors!
for shadowclan, i say blazefire for leader! i remember thinking he was very cute as a kit, and pretty righteous too if i remember what happened in avos right. but it think itd be especially interesting bc shadowclan has a history of outsiders becoming leader, and they have pretty recent, rocky history with rogues on top of that with darktail. i also think his perspective as a former guardian cat could inspire some unique aspects of leadership under him. id imagine hed pick a childhood friend as deputy, like lightleap or pouncestep.
for skyclan, needleclaw all the wayyyy. shes super young and def not ready for the position, which is what would make it fun. shes driven, she was a notably talented apprentice, and shes very prideful of all aspects of her heritage— shes a skyclan cat through and through, even if neither of her parents originated from the clans. seeing her character endure being thrust into such a position at such a young age could be super interesting, too. would she be a good leader like firestar? would it embitter her like onestar? who knows! i think shed pull a firestar and pick a more experienced cat for deputy— maybe her mentor, reedclaw!
and lastly, the tribe. hoo boy, its been awhile, huh? i rly liked feather last time we saw him in graystripes vow, so i gotta go with him. idk if its necessarily the most INTERESTING choice, but not a ton has happened with the tribe haha so its hard to tell what the dynamics of the different cats there are like

Right Okay so heres a bit of info on the ace- half cats just to put it out there
Pouncepaw
-ThunderClan apprentice.
-Hes more anxious than the character hes based off of, Yuga, but hes still outgoing and charismatic.
-Has a hard time focusing on training. He tries to make every apprentice task into a game, even checking the elders for ticks and collecting moss. The other apprentices dont always appreciate this but they'll play along
-Being the son of the former leader, Sunstar, the clan has very high expectations for him.
-Doesnt see the point in clan boundaries, and frequently sneaks off to meet with his friends from other clans.
Rabbitpaw/Vilefang
-Former ThunderClan apprentice.
-Pouncepaws foster brother and best friend. He was brought into the clan as a kit and raised by Flowersong. He and Pouncepaw are mamas boys.
-Gets exasperated by Pouncepaw sometimes, but still goes along with all his games.
-Feels the clan doesnt view him as highly as they view Pouncepaw, and as Pouncepaw gets more attention from both his clan and cats from other clans, he begins to grow bitter towards them.
-Eventually he is approached by an ancient dark forest cat, who convinces him to turn his back on the clans. Had he not met this cat.. literally everything wouldve been fine. He wouldve eventually realized his clan doesnt think any less of him as they do Pouncepaw.
-Renames himself Vilefang after leaving to seem more intimidating (Its not. I know its not. Its a really funny name but it fits)
Stellarpaw
-WindClan medicine cat apprentice.
-Close friend to Pouncepaw.
-An unusually stoic apprentice with a strong connection to StarClan.
-Doesnt talk much to his clanmates. The only cat you couldve really considered his friend would be Moonpaw, and even then its more him sitting and listening to Moonpaw talk.
-Eventually opens up more, but is incredibly awkward even around friends. Sometimes he says weird stuff without realizing
-Was the first to realize something was going on with Moonpaw after Moonpaw teamed up with Vilefang.
Moonpaw
-WindClan apprentice.
-Was a good friend of Stellarpaw.
-Wanted to be the medicine cat apprentice, and got extremely jealous and bitter towards Stellarpaw for being chosen over him.
-Tried to be happy for Stellarpaw, but his resentment got worse over time, eventually making him a target for Vilefang.
Marshpaw
-RiverClan apprentice.
-Close friend to Pouncepaw.
-An outgoing apprentice who works very hard during his training. He often excels at anything he puts his mind to
-Unfortunately he can be a little short sighted and jumps to conclusions easily.
-Formerly close friends with Lynxclaw, but they grew distant after Lynxclaw became a warrior.
-Lighthearted and doesnt enjoy battles. However, he does love fighting practice and playfights.
Lynxclaw
-RiverClan warrior.
-Groomed for leadership by his very well respected parents.
-Absolutely ruthless. He feels he is better than his clanmates and the only cat good enough to be leader.
-Looks down on cats he feels are "weak" and tends to actively ignore them.
-After he is not chosen as deputy, he grows very angry and becomes even more aggressive. This is what makes him a target for Vilefang.
Pheasantpaw
-SkyClan apprentice.
-He just dies. Big F
-He is very full of himself and believes he is already an Incredible fighter and hunter when he like.... Kinda sucks.
-Theres no real reason for him joining Vilefang hes just like. Haha joining up with this thunderclan cat and a cat(?) from hell will show skyclan im the best
-Again . Big f
