Just finished playing Life is Strange and well. Let’s just say. I am bawling my eyes out and sobbing uncontrollably.

when it all unfolds—when everything spirals in front of him like the most sick and twisted form of déjà vu—haeju doesn’t know if he’s the luckiest man alive or the most cursed.

called in to secure the bank and stop the heist, he’d arrived like he always did: with too much confidence and too little regard for his own well-being. he always made it out alive. a robbery? child’s play compared to the nightmares the hero commission had thrown at him before.

but when he reaches the vault, the air shifts. time seems to halt—or maybe, for haeju, it rewinds. the man standing before him is no stranger. it’s the same face that has been seared into his memory since he was sixteen. the same one who ruined everything.

the emotions flood him in waves, too fast and too tangled to make sense of. he should call joongi—this guy, ash, is already under his best friend’s radar. but at the end of the day, haeju is selfish. revenge is louder than reason, and it blinds him.

he reaches for the weapon the commission supplied him, his hand trembling only slightly as he raises the blaster. ash hasn’t seen him yet, hasn’t locked eyes with the boy he left shattered years ago.

haeju’s finger hovers over the trigger. an eye for an eye. no, that wouldn’t be enough. it would never be enough. peace wouldn’t come until he tore apart everything ash cared about. until ash felt the same desolation he had.

but he never gets the chance.

it happens in a blur—a flash of glowing pixels streaking across his vision. before he can react, the blaster is kicked from his hand, spinning out of reach. he stumbles, trying to regain his footing, but it’s too late.

he feels the grip before he sees her, an arm locking around his throat like iron. his vision blurs as the air struggles to reach his lungs. and then he sees ash.

the man he’s hated for years. the man who wrecked his life.

does he recognize him? haeju can’t tell, not when his head swims and his chest burns. his vision begins to gray, and then—

nothing.
