It’s so strange to me when people say Draco was definitely not abused by his parents in canon. It strikes me as a very limited definition of abuse. Draco was spoiled and pampered and babied by his family. That doesn’t preclude the possibility of his having been abused (he certainly doesn’t have a secure attachment with Lucius and we barely see him interact with Narcissa).
Is inviting a mass murderer to live in your home with your teenage son a healthy, uplifting parenting choice, for instance? Is Draco free to live his life in accordance with what makes him happy, or is there the possibility of being cut off and rejected and denied if he does something his parents don’t like? Has he perhaps been living with this possibility for his entire life, since before he can even remember? If Draco wanted to marry a muggleborn or a man or remain childless or unmarried, would he be free to do so without being disowned like his mother’s sister?

The Cat That Looked at a King
Tumblr media
The first magical war. Animagus Y/N spies on the Dark Lord. When she is caught, Voldemort decides against killing her.
Lord, what you're doing to me?
tw: psychological manipulation, crucio x 999, hurthurthurt/questionable comfort
‘Lumos’.
The weak light made you close your eyes, as if it was a spotlight. You tried to get up, but your aching head was pulled down, back to sweet unconsciousness. Dolohov looked at you with disgust, and for a moment it seemed to you as if he would slam the door and leave you in the blissful darkness, but this hope has fast  evaporated. He stepped forwards and forced you to your feet.
‘Did you sleep well?’, he said. Every sound caused a painful shiver through your body. ‘You made Mulciber work pretty hard yesterday. I believe your memory has returned, eh?’.
You were silent. You were still getting used to the idea that your life was over, and that the remaining days or even hours of it would be spent in a nice company of Death Eaters. You had no time for retaliatory witticisms, and indeed no time for answers at all.
“Not the talkative type, are we?” Dolokhov was not even offended. “Well, suit yourself. Hope you haven't forgotten how to walk?..”
You nodded slowly and sank back to the floor, into the darkness, into the silence, into the calmness, and neither Crucio nor Avada Kedavra could stop you from that.
***
The summer of 1978 was probably the happiest summer of your life. Hogwarts was over, Aurorial Appraisal hadn't started yet, and between this and that James and Sirius decided to throw the Very Last Party on the coast: picnic, dancing, everything is top-notch, for Marauders and their girls only. You were a little bit of both, and you were invited even before Lily.
How you crammed into the unfortunate, well-worn Ford Anglia, wheeled by James, was a whole  different story. Marlene McKinnon climbed onto Sirius's lap, Remus pressed himself against the door and rode like that the whole way. As for poor Peter, at first they wanted to push him into the trunk until he got the idea to transform into a rat and save space.
‘Oh!’ you exclaimed. ‘I’d do that too, otherwise Lily and Mary are not going.”
‘Just don’t eat Peter on the way!’ Sirius chuckled. It was an old joke that everyone got tired of back in fifth year, and no one laughed, so you just shrugged your shoulders and turned into a shaggy calico cat. Lily picked you up in her arms, and the race began.
‘Slow down, James, for Merlin’s sake!’ Mary Macdonald screamed, clutching the back of the seat. ‘You don’t even have a license, and we still want to get there alive!’ but he just laughed and entered every turn at such speed that made you meow pitifully. He couldn’t care less about the car that he got after his parents passed away, and he did not believe in his own death.
And then!.. And then you pitched the tent, jumped into the still cool water from the tower, then Remus took the gramophone out of the trunk and played “Somebody to love,” which everyone knew by heart, and when it became completely dark, you sat by the fire and roasted marshmallows . Lily rested her head on James' shoulder, the firelight playing on her hair. In the darkness, Peter timidly touched your hand, and you didn’t twitch, you didn’t even laugh.
‘We are all joining the Order, I presume?’ Sirius suddenly asked, biting a blade of grass. Marlene and Mary shushed him, but James snorted and waved his hand carelessly.
‘Come on, that’s no secret... Besides,  you are either in Voldemort's team or playing against him nowdays, no ifs or buts. And how else can you be against him, if not joining the Order?’
‘But there’s no need to shout about it, you know’,  Remus noted.
‘Who is shouting, though?’ Sirius seemed surprised. ‘Just saying. And there are no random people here, so?’.
‘Peter and I should be spies,” you said. ‘We both have the makings of a spy, like, no doubt. Sorry to tell you, James, but you’re out of luck with this one. Your animagus form is only good for an assault’.
James threw a marshmallow at you.
***
A lamp was on the table, an ordinary Muggle one, the kind of lamp you usually see in a library. The light was somehow cozy, and you stared at it mindlessly, trying to either forget yourself or gather your thoughts. Neither this nor that worked out. The room was tiny, with a high ceiling, no windows, and you couldn’t tell whether it was night or day, or which day even. Mulciber was making you wait. You probably really tired him out yesterday.
“I’m going to die here,” you thought dully. “That's it.  My number’s up. I’m not getting out of here alive. Nobody is to the rescue. Mulciber will go on and on until I die or break, and if I break, he will listen carefully to everything I can tell and then finish me off anyway. Merlin, oh Lord, oh dear Lord, oh God, oh Lord, oh dear God?!..”.
The latch creaked outside, and you  straightened yourself involuntarily, trying your best not to look at the door. The door slid aside and he entered the room.
For the first time in your life, you heard your heart beating.
“Good evening, Y/N,” Voldemort said in a casual and even somewhat disinterested tone, but the mere sound of this voice made you want to stop breathing, and you even tried to do so. ‘How are you feeling, how was your sleep?’
“It was fine,” you said, barely moving your lips. Your tongue seemed frozen. The lamp hit your eyes, and his face was hidden from you in the shadows; you only had enough strength to look at his hand.  Strangely beautiful, with thin pale fingers, it was lying relaxed on the table.
“It was fine, my lord,” he corrected you.
“What?..”
“Crucio”.
Next frame: for some reason the legs of the table, ah yes, a spasm threw you out of the chair, and now you were silently writhing, scratching your nails on the plank floor. This went on for millions of years. When the pain subsided, leaving a ringing emptiness, he said peacefully:
“Get up, please”.
You obeyed.
“Sit down”.
You did.
“You and Mulciber didn’t get along, and I can’t blame him for that, you’re very stubborn. But maybe you’ll make an exception for me, huh, Y/N?’
‘Oh God oh God oh God oh God oh dear Lord oh my God’
“I already told you everything,” you sobbed. Merlin, you've never been particularly brave. Cheerful, yes, loved by everyone, yes, loving,  yes, but not brave.
“First, you didn’t tell anything, at least not what I needed to know. Second, Crucio”.
This time you rose as slowly as if your bones were made of glass (and it felt like they were), but Voldemort waited patiently.
“I want to believe that you learned at least one lesson,” he said boredly. The lamp was now shining so that you could see his face very well.
“Yes, my lord,” you said drearly.
***
The autumn of 1978 was harder for you.
Back then it seemed that the most difficult thing was to become an Auror, and then everything would go like clockwork. A dream job, friends, fun, you’ll stick it to Voldemort in no time, and all your youth is waiting, and the war will end soon. The real-life reconnaissance turned out to be both more terrifying and much more boring than the fantasies.
In November, Lily and James threw a housewarming party in Godric's Hollow, this time only for Sirius, Remus, you and Peter. It was somehow quieter and more modest, but still very nice, and you brought pumpkin pie, although Halloween had already passed. You left early that day, because an operation was to be set tomorrow (nothing too serious, breaking into the house of one of the outer circle and casting some good ol’ wiretap spells). You desperately needed to get some sleep. Peter wanted to take you out, but you laughed it off. You didn’t want to see anyone, you wanted to cover yourself with a blanket and lie down, and never move again.
Of course you learnt to treat it as a job, otherwise you would go insane, and that’s when boredom set in. Probably, you reasoned, it’s one of two. It’s either you become a bundle of exposed nerves, choking with fear every time you are almost spotted, or you yawn (or meow) boredly, memorizing the names of the agents on the other side. You chose the latter.
Things were no better at Order meetings.
“Our poor Cookie looks a little down,” Marlene said sympathetically when, after discussing tomorrow’s plan, she had a free minute. “Cookie” was your call sign, assigned for the spottedness of your animagus form. ‘Did you quarrel with Peter?..’
“We didn’t really make peace in the first place,” you answered sharply. Then you said, tone softened: “Sorry, Marlin. Too much stuff on my plate’.
‘Well, feel free to take comfort in the fact that you are not alone in this!’ she winked at you cheerfully and climbed up onto the chair, her feet on the table.
But it felt like you were alone in this. There were a few targets that you kept an eye on, but it still was tough, too much information, too much responsibility, and doing all the tasks with a cat’s brain was oh so difficult. You were exhausted, staggering back and forth on the roof in the rain, pretending to be a stray kitty, and if anyone wanted to check you for traces of magic, you would instantly lose your disguise and then your life.
The first big success happened only at Christmas, as a gift, perhaps. You've began to close on Nott.
* * *
‘I was turning into a cat. Spied on Nott and Avery, no one else. I only kept in touch with Dumbledore,” you said in a whisper. “My lord, I don’t know what else to say. I really don't’.
He didn’t record your words the way Mulciber did (apparently, he wrote down your indistinct cries just in case). He just looked at you, tilting his head.
“That is, I have to believe that you were so special that Dumbledore made separate projects for you only and did not allow you to contact the rest of the group,” Voldemort nodded. “Seems like we have a top dog here. More precisely, a cat’.
‘My lord, I don’t know anything else!..’
‘You're lying’.
* * *
And from that day you started to close onto the Headquarters, slowly, very, very slowly and painstakingly. It was like you were unraveling a ball of yarn.
This ball could catch fire at any moment; any hurry could’ve become a deadly mistake. Losing one of the Order’s members wasn’t even the biggest problem, that’s what they are for, after all, but in January 1979, you and Dumbledore had a short conversation in a muggle coffee shop. He let you know that you had gotten ahead and were now getting closer to the inner circle, closer than anyone else. You couldn't lose at this point, there's more at stake than just your life.
You left the coffee shop in a strangely high spirits. You're finally starting to like your job.
Peter came to see you again on Valentine’s Day with a bouquet of conjured forget-me-nots, but you politely and carefully sent him - no, not to Mordred, to the Order headquarters, so he could finally get down to business. Spring was coming, and you wanted to stretch out like a cat before a hard day, work out all the leads and then kick Voldemort’s ass at last.
* * *
Of course, you didn’t fill him in on this detail.
The interrogation lasted only an hour or two, and you no longer knew where to look so as not to see his face: in the corner, at the lamp, at your feet, in the corner, at the lamp, at your feet, at the lamp, repeat. You wished to go blind, you wished to go deaf, you wished you could die. You wondered if he really had nothing else to do. Why is he clinging to you so much, is he teaching Mulciber a lesson or what?..
“I could help you with that, you know,” Voldemort said thoughtfully, playing with his wand. ‘ I could tell you what we already know about you, so that you don't have to lie. Not so obviously, at least. Would you like that, kitty?
‘I’d like that, my lord’.
You no longer understood what you were saying, you just knew that you had to agree with everything.
“We spotted you back in the summer.”
But isn’t it October now?!..
* * *
‘What will you give Harry for his birthday?’ Marlene asked, leafing through the “Prophet”. On the front page there was a column about yesterday's terrorist attack. Marlene's boots were resting on the coffee table again, and you pushed them off with a sharp movement. When will she learn to sit normally?!
‘A key to Voldemort's Headquarters’.
This was almost true, because now you knew its location down to the block, and it was a matter of time to get inside. When this finally happened, you were struck how ordinary it felt. There were no dungeons, no gargoyles at the entrance, no skulls on the walls. What you’ve found inside was furnished as in one of the most ordinary muggle offices, and everyone behaved like the most ordinary clerks, scurrying back and forth, cursing at each other, drinking coffee.
There were so many illusion spells on you that you feared they might start to conflict with each other. “I’m in the heart of the enemy,” you whispered to yourself as your own heart beat feverishly. How come they can’t hear this throughout the ventilation? “I am in the heart of the enemy, I am in the heart of the enemy. You’re all going down, bitches.” But it was still far from that. First of all, you had to build a floor plan, and slowly, inch by inch, you did it.
“Well done, Y/N. Smart kitty. Ten points to Catffindor,” you said to yourself in Dumbledore’s voice when you found out the date of the first major meeting.
* * *
“I still remember that thrilling moment,” Voldemort said mockingly, leaning back in his chair. “At first I thought there might be rats in the ventilation. Then I caught the eye of this one rat through the bars, and everything fell into place’.
You remembered this thrilling moment too, oh Merlin, you remembered it.
‘I gave the go-ahead to Avery, he began to dig into you. Since that day you have not taken a single independent step’.
The room floated before your eyes.
* * *
This probably explained the attacks of painful paranoia that began to torture you in August. Sometimes you woke up screaming, either at Order’s headquarters or at a safe house (you hadn’t been at home since July, and Peter didn’t know where to look for you), sometimes you walked along the Diagon Alley and turned into an side street, looking at a shop window for a minute or two, hoping to see something in the reflection, sometimes you would leave your unfinished coffee and rush out of the cafe because the man in the corner had his eyes on you. You became nervous, and, alas, in your job this meant professional incompetence.
“Our Cookie is completely depressed now,” Marlene told you as you left Dumbledore’s office. As gently as he could he suggested that you hand over matters to Sirius or Peter, then he said that this was not an offer and that you needed to start tying up the threads. Dumbledore probably suspected something.
In August, you went on yet another picnic. Without Lily and James, who could not leave the house anymore, everything was just not the same. Remus showed card tricks, and Sirius got drunk on firewhiskey and sang ABBA songs the whole night. You needed to talk to Peter in private because the project was supposed to be handed over to him, but you couldn’t make yourself talk about the job, and you didn’t want to spoil the last day off. You two sat on the cliff, watching the setting sun sink into the water, dangling your legs, throwing shells down and remembering Hogwarts. Peter didn’t seem to hold a grudge against you at all...
“Stop thinking about that rat,” said Sirius.
You turned to him and saw Voldemort's face.
“I’ve been looking through your memories for three hours now, trying to snag at least a grain of useful information, and you’re wasting my time on Pettigrew. You really don't want to cooperate, do you?
The setting sun turned into a lamp.
* * *
Not even Cruciatus curse made you scream this much.
Voldemort winced, rose from his seat like a huge black shadow, approached you (Merlin, let me die, let me die) and took you by the chin. His cold fingers made you fall silent obediently. After a short pause, he said softly:
“Let’s think about it together, Y/N, since you can’t do this by yourself. You already know that I could have killed you six months ago, that the information you conveyed to Dumbledore was fake, that your greatest achievement at the moment is to look at me. Thoughts?’
Well, here comes Avada, you thought happily. Is it over yet? He mocked you enough and now you can die? You did pretty well, come to think of it... Occlumency failed you, but he never pulled out any specifics…
“A cat may look at the king,” you said, relieved and ready to die. You seemed to be smiling.
He studied your face for a full second, and then instead of merciful death or even pain, your brain just turned inside out.
* * *
You are sitting by the fire. Lily laughs and taps out the rhythm of the song on James' knee.
“each morning I get up I die a little can barely stand on my feet”
Focus.
Peter with a bouquet of forget-me-nots tries to squeeze through the door.
How much longer do I have to look at this?
“i spent all my years in believing you”
Party at Hogsmeade. Sirius dances on the Ford’s roof. Quidditch match, snitch in the sun rays. Knockturn Alley massacre, Marlene is dead. Ford comes into the turn,  Marlin is alive, she is yelling at James. Harry on a toy broom, laughing. Explosion at Mungo's, nurse sobbing. Knife plunges into the pumpkin pie.
So much garbage. So much unnecessary rubbish you keep in your head, dear Y/N.
“i just gotta get out of this prison cell someday i’m gonna be free Lord”
You look at Voldemort from the vents, he looks at you. Headquarters layout. Nott's window. Marlene's boots on the coffee table. Order’s headquarters layout. James throws a marshmallow at you. “Calico cats bring good luck,” Remus says seriously. “You will be our mascot.” The entire Order wishes you a happy birthday, you blow out the candles on the cake, but they just don’t go out.
‘somebody somebody somebody somebody somebody’
That’s more like it.
‘somebody to’
The setting sun falls into the water as the world plunges into darkness.
* * *
You're lying on the floor. You can't even remember your own name.
“It’s Y/N,” Voldemort prompts. He sits next to you and holds your hand, touches your fingers, strokes your wrist, and it’s so bizarre, strange and wrong that it can’t even be a dream. ‘Believe me, it can. But I would like you to gain the gift of speech and not force me to read your thoughts’.
“Yes, my lord,” you say slurredly.
‘Splendid. So, we concluded that any information you can give to me is useless, that you don’t like to cooperate and that you’re definitely not the brightest one. Of course, it would be easier and cheaper to kill you, but I decided against it. Why do you think I did that?’
‘I don't know, my lord’.
‘I’m going to break you’.
‘What?’
No Crucio this time. He just gives you a long appraising look. Works like a charm, just for one indulgence you already feel grateful and almost happy.
“We’ll take on you, sweet Y/N. In the Order, you had no one to look after you, and still, having no techniques, only raw talent, you plunged into the thick of it and even achieved something, and all it took was one word from Dumbledore. You managed to look at the king. Well, he looked back at you and decided that he needed a calico cat. As a mascot’.
“I'm going crazy,” you think. “The Cruciatus curse can do that.”
‘Why not? I think I can afford it, can’t I?’
“Yes, my lord,” you answer indifferently. Let the nightmare continue, it doesn't matter anymore.
“The old man kept trying to awaken mercy in me... Well, it seems like he had achieved his goal by throwing a kitten at Headquarters. I didn’t even expect such stupidity from him’.
Ceiling. You look at the ceiling,  counting the cracks.
“I’ll break you into pieces,” he says, and for the first time in that voice, the voice that was so cold and unforgiving at meetings, so paralyzing, slips something that sounds almost like... concern? Tenderness?.. ‘I’ll take you apart and put you back together again. And the new you will serve me. I expect nothing but undying devotion. Is that clear?’
All right, absolutely nothing is wrong. It couldn't be more normal. The Dark Lord decided to make you the mascot of his team, this happens all the time.
“Don’t be afraid to be broken, Y/N,” Voldemort says almost tenderly, touching your cheek, slowly lowering his fingers to your neck. ‘For it is the first step towards becoming perfect. I wasn’t afraid of this in my time,” he smiled sadly. His smile is almost human. “Maybe I’ll even tell you about this someday, Cookie.”

Theodore Nott Headcanons
Tumblr media
His favorite color is deep blue
He mainly speaks italian and english but he can also speak french because his mother was French
It brings me to an headcanon that I thought about. I headcanon his mother to be French and after her death, he tried his best to not forget her language because it’s the last thing that connect him to her.
He says his favorite class is Transfiguration, but it’s secretly Muggle Studies because he used to buy muggle things with his mom to see what they were for.
When you’re looking for him, most of the time he’s by the lake on a bench or sat by a tree.
He’s a hatstall because the Sorting hat was hesitating between Slytherin and Ravenclaw
He actually tried being in the quidditch team as a chaser or beater in fourth year, but didn’t like being bossed around by the captain so he quitted
His first crush was Hermione Granger during his third year because he admired her knowledge and how she doesn’t let herself be walked on. His favorite memory about her was how she punched Malfoy in the face
Theodore always thought girls never looked at him, but oh boy he was mistaken…it’s like he’s blind and it took him to accidentally hear his 2 of his friends, Daphne Greengrass and Pansy Parkinson, joking about how many girls wanted him and how their “son” is growing up fast. He still lightly chuckle when he think about this memory.
Not a headcanon but he hangouts with Draco, Blaise, Pansy, Daphne, Mattheo and Enzo. But among them, he prefers being with Pansy and Daphne (he will never say it out loud 💀) because he kinda like how they baby him and tell him all about girls thing. Like I can imagine him randomly being invited to their sleepovers and they put makeup on him, skin care, they gossip ect. He mostly like their inside jokes and how everyone around them is confused. He feels good knowing they’re completely comfortable with him to the point where they change in front of each other because it’s not weird and Pansy says “It’s only weird, if you make it weird”. Outside of the girls, he likes being with Blaise
Talking about his favorite girls, him and the other boys made a pact of protecting the 2 at all cost. None of the girls know about the pact, they just think that as male friends, they act like such by scaring away boys that come near them.
Most people call him Theo, but Pansy and Daphne call him Teddy
HELP I COULD LITERALLY DO A WHOLE POST ABOUT HIM, PANSY AND DAPHNE 😭
But anyways
He’ve always hated his father, Faustus Nott, mostly because he was the one who killed his mom, right in front of him with his fists
He cried after getting the dark mark
He wears rings and got an helix piercing before the seventh year after a drunk evening with Draco, Blaise, Mattheo and Enzo
He’s always making fun of Draco because he cannot run fast to save his life 😭
He’s the one of those that don’t study that often but get good grades
His favorite weather is cloudy/rainy because it finds comfort in them. He loves it the most when it’s pouring outside and he’s in the comfort of his dorm/common room reading a book.
He’s a night owl and goes to sleep at like 3am
His friends and himself are just a big happy family
Theodore is so photogenic!! He doesn’t even know it, but Pansy and Daphne always sneak pictures of him without him knowing and he looks majestic in every single one of them
He swears a lot but not too much yk?
He smokes when he’s preoccupied by something and during Voldemort’s return, he would always have a pack of cigarettes with him
Blaise and him speak in sarcasm most of the time and it’s so funny to watch 😭
I like to think he has a lot of moles/beauty marks on him, especially on his chest
He’s an observer, discreet and pay attention to his surroundings
He’s a good 6 foot 2-3 with long legs and Mattheo always fake-jump with a hand on his heart when he sees him. He calls him slender-man
He has the dead eyes with dark circles under them like he hasn’t slept in a decade
During breakfast he only takes 2 French toast with a cup of either coffee or tea, depends on his mood
His type in girls would be the quiet ones, like him. He likes them shy, maybe a bit nerdy who doesn’t talk a lot. Brunettes, maybe blondes, he doesn’t mind which house she’s in but she must get along well with his friends.
He doesn’t spend much time at his manor anymore, because he wants to avoid his father much as possible. So instead, he basically lives at the Zabini’s, his room is right across Blaise’s. Mrs Zabini loves him as if he was her own and treat him as such. What Theo loves doing is helping her around the house just to hear her say “What a wonderful boy you are!…Take him as an example Blaise!” And how his friends rolls his eyes while doing his best middle finger to Theodore. “Blaise, leave him alone!”
He loves reading, his favorite genres are philosophy because it makes him think and say the same smart sentences to his friends afterwards (especially Mattheo and Draco) even tho they don’t understand a thing he’s saying. He likes the classics, horror and romance (yes I see you coming, he reads smut). When he eventually gets a girlfriend, he does to her the romantic things he have read and say loving things the characters said.
His patronus is an eagle/hawk. No I didn’t do any research, I just can picture him with those kind of bird on his arm yk?🧍🏾‍♀️
He genuinely thought he wasn’t gonna survive the war or be put in Azkaban if he even manages to live. During his seventh year, at night, when everyone was asleep in his dorm, he would write letters to his friends and even wrote his will. He gave his clothes and his things to Blaise. 95% of his money was left for Pansy and Daphne while the rest was for charities and do not be fooled by the 5% because the number still have a lot of zeros in it. He wanted Draco to have his wand, he wanted Mattheo to have his rings because he would catch him looking at them in envy and gave Enzo his owl and books. He wanted to have his portrait in each of his friends’ house so he can visit them whenever he wants.
In a modern Hogwarts, he would listen to Chase Atlantic
He plays the piano and a bit the guitar
He loves poems and write some when he has inspiration, Draco have read one of them when he saw Theo had asleep on it and was curious about what he was writing.

WIP Last Lines Tag Game
Share the last 7 (or more) lines from a WIP
— I am posting nearly a whole scene from the WIP but either way… thanks for the tag @cindle-writes and @leafiloaf, I am tagging @coiled-dragon @cornerstoreclown @cannibalinc @bonkin @arabellatheauthor (no pressure!)
Premise: In a Voldemort Wins Alternate Universe, Harry is friends with Tom, the only son of the Lord Voldemort, and following graduation from Hogwarts he’s invited to stay at the Palace Eternal for the summer. It means Harry gets to spend time with Tom. It also means Harry has to meet Tom’s father. (Tomarry, eventual Harrymort, might even become A/B/O who knows)
In which Hermione and Ron express their concern for Harry.
“You’re going to stay with Tom for the summer?” Hermione asks, her brow arched, “Don’t you think that’s a little… odd?”
It’s about the response he expects from her. Ron doesn’t need to say anything for Harry to know the suspicion is mutual between them. Hermione and Ron had never been fan favorites of Tom. “He invited me to the Coronation,” Harry explains. Not that it’s a reason to be there all summer long.
Her expression morphs, “Oh, Harry! That’s so amazing! It’s an honor to go. You must be excited.”
Ron scoffs. Harry expects that, too. The feeling is moot. In a historical sense it might be interesting, but only Hermione would see it that way.
“Yeah,” Harry sighs, “that’s one word for it. Tom’s dad is a prick. Real excited to see him get crowned for, what, the fifth time?”
It feels weird referring to Tom’s dad so casually. Tom himself doesn’t even refer to Lord Voldemort as father, but Harry surely isn’t going to give him the honorific title in a conversation where he could help it. Sovereign Undying is an ego inflating mouthful, anyways.
Harry doesn’t realize he’s said something that’s shocked them until he breaks from his thoughts, noticing their eerie silence and horrified faces.
“What?” He presses.
Hermione murmurs urgently, “I don’t think you’re allowed to say that.”
Harry nearly rolls his eyes. He stares at Hermione, unconcerned. “Are you going to tell on me?”
He is surprised it’s Ron that responds this time.
“You don’t know who’s listening, mate. That’s why my dad made the whole ‘no politics at dinner’ rule, what with all the portraits lying around.”
“I know about the portraits, Ron.” Harry says testily.
“Yes,” Hermione eases, “everyone knows about the portraits. We’re not saying you don’t, Harry. I think what Ron is trying to say is you can’t be too careful.”
“I can be careful. I’m not stupid.”
“No, but you are brash.”
“And bold,” Ron adds.
“Those words are synonyms for each other, yes,” Hermione says, firm even in her gentle instruction, “Nevertheless, I think Ron brings up a good point. Your… affinity for speaking out is something you’ll have to consider if you’re going to be staying with Tom for a whole summer. Where his… where Lord Voldemort could be in earshot.”
Harry waves her off, “Tom hardly sees him, anyways. They’re practically estranged.”
“That’s not what I’ve heard,” Ron whispers, looking around the room for invisible ears. “There’s been a new chair added at the Wizengamot. My dad thinks they’re adding a new position.”
Harry could see where this is going, but Ron’s tidbit certainly piques Hermione’s curiosity even if Harry knows its bullshit.
“What position?”
“I dunno. An advisor, maybe? I mean, who else would it be besides…”
“Tom would’ve told me about that.” Harry interjects confidently.
Both Ron and Hermione are silent, and unlike before it seems as though neither of them have anything to say. Harry might’ve cheered if their quiet didn’t sound like disagreement.
“He would’ve,” Harry insists, “He doesn’t like his father much, either. I can hardly blame him.”
Ron and Hermione exchange a side eye. “Does he tell you that?”
Harry reddens. It’s not a blush. He’s thought about this before, he isn’t completely unaware of what words can do. But even if Tom doesn’t say ‘I hate my father’ Harry can read between the lines. Tom’s never spoken highly of Lord Voldemort. All of the times he’s brought up in conversation it dwindles to Harry being glad he has no parents in comparison to Tom’s own situation.
“I mean, no—not directly, but he doesn’t need to. He’s quite attentive when I complain.”
“Are you sure he’s not trying to set you up?”
Harry can’t hide the agitation anymore. He really wishes his friends would at least pretend to like Tom. “Ron, I know you don’t like Tom but he’s good to me.”
“We just want you to be safe,” Hermione says.
Harry scoffs, “And you think me being safe includes staying away from Tom.”
“Yes,” Ron says.
“No,” Hermione glares at him. “But it’s good to be cautious. The Palace Eternal is a beautiful place, but it’s not necessarily safe. Most people that stay don’t leave.”
“Yeah, my dad’s only been there, what, once or twice? And he’s had a chair on the Wiz for years.”
“It’s just for a summer,” Harry reaffirms, “And if what you’re saying is true, if Tom is going to be an Advisor, I don’t know how much I’ll see him after, anyways.” Harry looks away from them. He really hopes it isn’t true. He really, really hopes Tom’s not going to be an Advisor to Lord Voldemort. “Besides, I’ve got to find work, I don’t know what I’m going to do still.”
“You’ve still got the offer from the Chudley Cannons, don’t you?”
“Yeah, I don’t know if that’s what I want though. I’m hoping Tom can help me figure something out.”
“You know, you’re always welcome to stay with us at the Burrow. No rush finding a job, either. Mum would be more than happy to have you.” Ron assures, “Fred and George are always looking for new employees.”
Hermione rolls her eyes, “That’s because Fred and George harass their employees with pranks until they leave.”
“Yeah…” Ron agrees sheepishly.
“Regardless,” Hermione starts, “whatever you do, write us. Let us know you’re okay.”
Harry laughs, “It’s not like I’m going there to die, you’ll see me again.”
Hermione and Ron don’t laugh. Harry’s not worried, but they don’t share that sentiment.

Halloween was something Y/n had guessed wouldn't be such a big deal at the BAU. When she opens a black envelope that arrived on her desk one morning in mid-October, she realizes she was wrong.
Spencer's grinning, but it's not directed at her like it usually is. "What is this?" She asks, ripping the envelope open.
"One of the best days of the year." He replies excitedly. He's cute like that, and she wishes she could tell him. Everyone else misses the fact he previously referred to the 31st of October as the singular best day of the year. Not anymore when he has her birthday and their anniversary to celebrate.
Emily provides a more in-depth answer while they all open their envelopes. "It's Penelope's annual Halloween party. Probably the biggest of the year."
Y/n admires Penelope's innovation as she looks at the invitation, designed to look like an ouija board with the details written in bold, black lettering.
"I thought Halloween was just an excuse to get drunk with your friends once you're older than sixte- twenty-one." She jokes.
Penelope walks in from behind her. "It is very much not, my dear. It's a night to get dressed up, celebrate all things spooky-"
"And drink wine." Emily cuts her off.
"And drink wine." She agrees.
"Actually, it's not." Spencer jumps in to correct them as they make their way to the conference room, following behind them. "The tradition originated..."
He keeps going until he eventually gets told by Hotch that it's time to focus on the case while JJ whispers to Y/n. "Every year he does this." She makes a mental note to ask for the full story and pay him undivided attention when they get home.
The case they get send on ends on the 30th, something Penelope says she's thankful for due to the amount of perishable food she's put in Rossi's fridge, and Hotch lets everyone go early on the 31st, softer than he pretends for Penelope's parties.
It gives Y/n and Spencer enough time to go to her apartment before they have to split to get ready and arrive at Rossi's separately. She makes a point to ask about the origins of Halloween, getting to hear his little speech in the forty-five it takes to get home.
Once they're home and fed, a quick nap with cuddles is all they need. They're two luxuries they can't afford while working a case. They both stayed true to the rule about not sneaking into each other's hotel rooms, not that it hasn't been incredibly difficult.
Spencer always holds her close, tucking his head on top of hers and wrapping his arms tightly around her. Eventually, they shower together after some distractions. Then it's time for Y/n to start the long process of putting her costume on perfectly.
"What did you decide?" She asks Spencer, who's watching her from where he's sitting on her bed.
He's fussy about what he decides on, taking the day, in her opinion, a little too seriously. But allegedly, there are prizes for best dressed, and he doesn't want to lose to Morgan again, just because Morgan dressed- inaccurately, Spencer would argue- as a firefighter with his shirt off. She didn't tell her pouting boyfriend when he first told the story, but she supports Penelope's decision.
"He's a villain," Spencer tells her.
"Good." She agrees. "Keeping in line with our theme."
He nods. "I figure, if we can't do a couples costume, we might as well be in the same category."
"Oh my gosh." She laughs just at the thought of her idea. "Are you going dressed as Voldemort?"
"Y/n, you can't say his name." He chastises playfully. "But, no."
He's quiet after that, and she turns back to glare at him once she's put her underwear on. He's watching, admiring the view of his barely dressed girlfriend.
"What, you're not going to tell me?" She asks, jutting out her bottom lip for maximum effect.
"No, you're too annoying." He jokes, smirking. He never knew how fun it would be to have someone he can have repartee with, knowing he will never be judged for being himself.
Y/n knows how to get him talking, and she narrows her eyes as she walks over seductively. She throws her leg over his lap, straddling him as he gulps, repeating a mantra in his head about not giving in.
"Wanna tell me now?" She offers, hands running over his bare chest, thankful he left his dress shirt abandoned on the floor.
He shakes his head. "Not really." He braves touching her, stroking over the green lace of the cups of her bra. "This is cute."
When he goes to take it off, figuring they have enough time, she stops him. "Baby, not happening until you tell me."
"You'll see it in a couple of hours anyway." He whines, needy, hard in his pants and rutting up into her again. "But we might have to do it at Rossi's because you're going to struggle to keep it in your pants until we get home."
She scoffs, reaching down to palm his prominent bulge. "I'm not going to be able to keep it in my pants?"
Spencer groans a little, pushing her head forward so he can whisper against her ear. "It's a suit." He knows her weak spot. What he wears every day, his cute dress shirts and cardigans, don't compare to how hot he looks dressed in a suit. "With a tie tied properly." He adds. "Does that get you hot?"
The grin on his face is bold as he looks down at his lap, where she's rolling her hips against his unintentionally. "Nope." She lies. "Just teasing you."
"Mm, sure." He hums, leaning closer so he can kiss her. He keeps it quick, committed to not slipping up and fucking her hard enough against the bed that she'll struggle to walk. Making out is a pipeline to that. "What are you wearing with this?" He asks, only because he knows her chosen villain has a lot of variation.
"That white dress shirt that you left here." She starts innocently. "Buttoned to here." She finishes, taking his hand and resting it just above the cups of the bra, hidden from everyone else except someone as tall as him.
He grins, thanking whoever is looking out for him in the universe. "So I'm going to get to see your tits all night?"
"No, you're my colleague, agent Reid. That would be inappropriate." She reminds him smugly.
He tugs her closer, kissing her roughly in a way that makes her head spin. "It's Doctor. And it's going to be more than inappropriate when I rip this off you as soon as we walk through the door."
"Let's hope we can sneak out early then." She decides, focusing on ignoring the tingle in her spin as she kisses him once more before getting off his lap.
Spencer's magnetism is intoxicating. There's nothing she can do to not be attracted to him. He sits there a little stunned, relishing in her pull.
"You need to get out of here so I can see you later." She reminds him.
"But I want to sit here forever." He complains, letting his head rest on his shoulder and shutting his eyes.
Y/n rolls her eyes, grabbing his hands and pulling him off the bed. "Get up, lover boy."
"Fine." He agrees, letting her drag him up before moving his hands down to squeeze her ass.
She has to practically yank his hands off, button his shirt, and push him out the door to get him to leave back to his apartment, but she wants her makeup to be a surprise.
Spencer goes back to his place to get into costume, tightening his tie and smearing fake blood on his raincoat. He grabs his axe, and he's ready to go, arriving before Y/n does and complimenting everyone else's costumes.
Penelope and Emily are an angel and a devil, respectively, and fittingly. Beth must have had to plead with Hotch, but it worked because they're dressed as Woody, Jessie, and Jack as Buzz. JJ's blonde hair perfectly matches her rapunzel outfit, Will by her side as Flynn Rider, and Henry makes the cutest chameleon as Pascal. Morgan went for a Fresh Prince-inspired outfit, pulling it off with comfort and swagger. Rossi selected clothing from the wardrobe he had as a youth, dressing as a member of the mob, which is really his excuse to have cigars.
The one person he doesn't see is the person he wants to see the most.
She gets there only a few moments later, greeted at the door by Penelope, who has taken over Rossi's house. "You look incredible." He hears Penelope squeal.
Y/n walks into the patio a few moments later, top unbuttoned as she promised it would be. He's hard- and trying to hide it- incredibly quickly.
She looks perfect, a purple blazer framing the white shirt of his with tight black shorts. Her makeup is most impressive, with bright red lipstick painted up her face in an overzealous smile, bold purple eyeshadow, filled-in green brows, and a big J under her left eye. Spencer's sure she could easily defeat Batman with just one look.
She grins at him in his suit, wondering why she hadn't guessed he would come dressed as Patrick Bateman. Hot. Very very hot. She resists the urge to grab him by his perfectly tied tie and pull him to a guest bedroom.
Once she's grabbed her wine with eyeballs, she makes a bee-line to stand next to him. Spencer noticeably looks down the front of his her shirt, checking that her tits were as perfect as he remembered them.
Her kick at his leg goes unseen by everyone else as the adults stand around the high circular table, wrapped up in their own chats. Spencer takes their temporary distractions to lean down and whisper into her ear. "So, what'd you think?"
"It's cute." She replies, breathing shallowly.
"Just like that green set that I'll be taking off you later," Spencer reminds her, keeping his voice low and breath against her skin.
She scoffs. "If you're lucky."
The wine and eventually shots go to both of their heads, and combined with the close proximity and burning need to touch each other, they're both close to breaking.
Spencer's stubborn, often to a fault, but when she excuses herself after dinner, he takes the opportunity and follows her through the house a few minutes later.
Y/n squeals in shock when she feels a hand wrapping around her arm and pulling her into a closet when she's on her way back out. It's Spencer which she knows from his cologne.
"What the fuck?" She asks, hitting him on the plastic raincoat covering his shoulder. There are no lights on, but she can feel the heat coming off him. "What is wrong with you? You scared me."
"Missed you too much." He says almost sweetly, nose touching hers. The innocence quickly gets taken over by something darker as his hands started traveling over the curve of her body. "Look so hot in this." He mumbles, lips only an inch from hers.
She's worse at controlling herself when they're close and alone, and in a second, her lips are pressed to his. Spencer kisses her back, slamming her into the wall firmly.
His tongue delves into her mouth, hands traveling to squeeze her tits while she pulls him closer with the hair at the base of his neck.
"Fucking love your hair like this." She hums against his lips, trying not to mess up the perfect, slicked-back look of his straightened, not curled, hair.
"It's my sex hair, that's why." He claims with a laugh before kissing her again. It's just as quick-paced as before, both of them desperate and eager, working with each other.
Before she can fully give in to the urge, and fuck him in the closet, she pulls away. "Wait, wait, we can't do this here." She reminds him.
Spencer nods, although he doesn't want to let go of her, have to go back out there, and socialize until it's been enough time for them to go home.
He takes his hands off her body, holding them up. "Okay, okay. You going first?"
"Yeah, probably should." She agrees, taking a moment to calm her breathing. "See you out there."
Emily gives her a bit of a weird look in the kitchen, which she shrugs off as she grabs some ice water to tamper down the heat in her cheeks.
"Are you okay?" She asks.
Y/n nods. "Just got distracted."
It's when Spencer appears a minute later that she understands the fatal consequence of their makeout session.
Red lipstick.
Her red lipstick.
All over and around his lips. She might have been able to save it, shove him back into a bathroom to fix it, had every member of their team not walked in and witnessed the same thing. Dead silence spreads as quickly as the conclusion about what is happening does. The guilty look from Y/n only confirms the fact they had snuck away to make out.
"What?" Spencer asks, looking at each of them for an answer.
"You got a little something," Morgan tells him with a smirk, gesturing to his lips. Spencer scrambles to wipe it up after glancing at Y/n's missing lipstick, not that it helps at all.
"So you're the distraction." Emily jokes, nudging Y/n on the shoulder.
The surprise is evident on all of their faces, mixed with some excitement. "I did not see that coming," JJ admits, agreements coming from almost everyone.
"Really?" Beth asks, shocked by something else this time. "They have been practically..." She pauses to look behind her and make sure no kids are listening... "eye fucking each other all night. No offense, you guys." She's definitely had a bit to drink and it makes everyone laugh, even more, when she turns to Hotch to continue. "Are you even a profiler, Aaron?"
Will's claiming he saw the same thing to JJ as Beth teases Hotch and Morgan starts reminding Penelope of a conversation they had about who Y/n would end up dating on her first day at the BAU, Emily getting dragged in to authenticate.
With everyone occupied by conversations about them, Spencer sees his opportunity, "So we can just sneak out now, right?" He whispers into her ear.
"Yup." She agrees, taking his hand and pulling him away from the chaos they’d made.

Yandere Draco Malfoy (3/5)
Tumblr media
Word count ; 4.3k
*Edited.
And a nap I did get.
Draco shook me awake and I snorted slightly. Usually he would laugh when I did something embarrassing, but he completely ignored my sleep sounds. I sat up.
“We’re almost there. You should change into your robes,” Draco stated.
I nodded, wiping my eyes. When I surveyed my surroundings, I realized that Draco had already changed and his suitcase was on the booth table. I stood and grabbed my suitcase, pulling out my robes. I went to the changing room and finished quickly. When I returned, the train was coming to a stop. The caboose was dark. I was about to open the door to the compartment, the I heard Draco’s voice.
The curtains were drawn, but I could see his shadow standing behind it. I stationed myself against the wall. What was he doing?
“Didn’t mommy ever tell you it was rude to eavesdrop, Potter?” A second later, he spewed,” Petrificus Totalus!” I heard a thud. I covered my mouth and held back a gasp. Harry had been in our compartment the entire time?
I heard him pacing. Draco was heading toward the thud. “Oh, yeah, she was dead before you could wipe the drool of your chin.” I almost gasped when I heard a pronounced crack. It made my stomach churn. “That’s for talking to Y/n. As for you, enjoy your ride back to London.”
Before I react, the door opened and I was me with Draco, both of our bags in hand. He seemed surprised by my presence, but shoved right past me. He must’ve thought I didn’t hear anything. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and began dragging me out.
“Wait, my bag —“
“I have your bag here, idiot.”
I could only spare a glance into the compartment. Nothing was there. Had Harry already left the scene?
There was nothing for me to do but follow Draco out and head to Hogwarts with him.
~~~
I was surprised by how tranquil the first semester was. Although there were whispers of Voldemort’s return, the most people had to gossip about was student romances. It felt like the calm before the storm, so I intended to spend my Christmas break wisely.
I was more than happy to oblige when I receive a personal invitation to spend the final days of vacation at the Malfoy Manor. It was a personal letter written by his father, so I was quite flattered that I was so well-received by Draco that his father approved of me. My parents were excited to see me off since, and I quite,’ It’s the first time I’ve spent personal time with a boy since he died.’
And they were right. Although Draco and I were only friends - and I might have developed a small crush on him -, I didn’t spend as much time with other friends outside of school like I did with him. If you told me a year ago that I would be best friends with the Slytherin prince, I would have a hard time believing it. Because, even now, Draco was just as mean-spirited; perhaps even more so.
I knocked on the large mansion’s front door. My two fathers stood beside me, saying that it was only polite to meet Narcissa and Lucius themselves.
The door opened and we were met with a house elf. He beckoned us inside. Me and my family entered. The house elf shuffled off, taking my luggage with me. There were pairs of slippers of various sizes by the coat rack, so we took off our shoes and put on a pair.
I examined our surroundings. The meeting hall was thin. Ahead of us was a stair case. There were two closed doors adjacent to each there. Beside the staircase was the hallway that led deeper into the manor. The hallway was dimly lit, and there was something cold about the place, even with the quaint Christmas decorations on the wall and railing.
Emerging from the second floor, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy welcomed us. Lucius had an unfriendly and strict air, but Narcissa welcomed us with open arms, immediately doting on me.
“My dear, I’m glad you accepted our invitation!” Narcissa greeted. “Hello. You must be her parents.” Lucius nodded to us as Narcissa shook each of our hands. “Are you planning to stay for dinner?”
“Actually, we plan to take this chance to personally celebrate Christmas,” my dad explained. “However, I’m sure we’ll live vicariously through Y/n.”
“The house elf has already taken your luggage to your room,” Lucius informed, staring me down.
I bowed my head slightly. “Thank you, sir.”
Narcissa waved her hand dismissively. “There’ll be none of that. You might as well count as family with how close you are to Draco. Please, just call him Lucius and me Narcissa.”
I grinned. “Will do.”
My dads hugged me. “We ought to get going. Thanks again for your hospitality. We’ll be off now.” Dad pulled out some floo powder from his pocket after bidding their good-bye and disappeared.
Now that my parents were gone, Narcissa clasped her hand on my shoulder. She shouted over her shoulder,” Draco, where are you? Y/n’s here! Come give her a tour!”
The house was old and creaky, so I could hear quick footsteps thudding above me. Draco seemed slightly out of breath as he came downstairs. He was stoic and was wearing his usual posh attire of a suit. His whole family was wearing high-class clothing, while I only had casual attire on. Even if I did have such fancy clothing, I wouldn’t have thought to wear it for such an occasion.
Narcissa nudged Draco toward me. There was a ghost of a smile on his expression as he stood in front of me. “Good, now that you too are together, Lucius and I will let you kids be,” she chided mischievously.
“Hello,” Draco greeted.
“Don't be a stranger,” I replied with a grin. I wrapped my arms around his neck and stood on my tippy-toes, enveloping him in a warm hug. He reciprocated the action, his spindly fingers drifting over the small of my back. “I missed having you and that nagging run-on mouth of your’s around.”
He chuckled, pulling away. “My father likes you. He says that it's good to have someone so loyal by my side. It’s even better that we’re both prefects.”
“I’m honored. But he always looks like he’s in pain, so you could’ve told me he hated me and I would believe it," I quipped.
Draco clicked his tongue, ruffling my hair. “You should feel honored. Not just anyone gets invited to my home.”
“I have a feeling your bias had something to do with it.”
“None of my other acquaintances have seen my house. Even Pansy and Crab and Goyle haven't been here, and I’ve known them for at least ten years,” he insisted.
“My god! Your parents must be quite stiff-necked.”
“No, I just hate having them around. I always have.”
“Now, now, it’s Christmas. Christmas is all about gratitude and forgiveness and positivity. No insulting your entourage behind their backs.”
Draco hummed, smirking. “Of course you’d say that, Hufflepuff.”
“Oh, you know you love me for it.”
He opened his mouth then closed it again. A blush rose to his cheeks and he suddenly turned away. Let me show you to your room. Dinner will be on soon.” He grabbed my hand and led me to the second floor.
Unlike the entrance, the second floor was spacious. The stairs immediately led to a library slash study, and there were several doors. The one we went through opened into a wide hallway with rows of doors. We stopped a few doors down, and he opened it for me.
I let out an audible gasp as I entered the room. My suitcase was beside the bed. The huge king-sized bed. There was a dresser and a mirror and a closet, oh my!  I broke away from Draco and immediately cannon-balled onto the bed, ruffling the blankets.
I let out laughs of joy as I rolled around on it. I was so very tempted to jump on it, but it was just so comfortable. I slowed, sitting up to peer at my friend.
He looked completely spaced out, staring at me. There was a faint but visible smile on his handsome face. I couldn't help but blush from how adamantly his attention was on me.
“Draco?”
He jumped, shaking himself out of it. “Yes?”
“Nothing. You were just staring.”
“How could I not?”
“Are you flirting or insulting me?" I giggled.
His cheeks reddened. “As if I’d flirt with the likes of you, Hufflepuff,” he huffed. “Why are you so excited about a bed?”
“Well, I’m not poor, but my family could only afford a twin-size. I've never slept in even a queen-size bed before," I explained. “Bloody hell, I don't think I've even slept on a queen-sized bed.  I mean, when I’ve visited the Weasleys, I slept on a couch, and when I was with Cedric during holidays, I shared his tiny bed.”
His body went rigid. "Of course… the Weasleys are too unsophisticated to afford such things.”
“Maybe,” I argued," but their family is so tightly-knit to the point it's envious. Each Weasley so different, yet still fired up and filled with love for their family.”
Draco bit his lip. “Whatever.”
A lightbulb went off in my head. “Oh! Right! I have your Christmas gift. I actually dropped by Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley the same day the invitation arrived. I bought things for your parents, too. Do you want to open your's now or at dinner?”
"Now is fine.” He took a step back, standing in the doorway. "I got you something, too. Let me go get it.”
While Draco exited to grab my present, I went through my suitcase. My clothes were messy and wrinkled as I tossed them onto the bed, excited. I pulled out four packages, one for each of the family members. I sat upright on the bed with Draco's gift on my lap.
He reentered and plopped next to me. There was a permanent blush dusted on his cheeks as we exchanged gifts. We had a stare down, waiting for one of us to open it first.
“You first,” I insisted.
He bit his lip. “Oh, fine then. I know how stubborn you are.”
I grinned victoriously. I scooted closer and propped my head on his tall shoulders and he tore open the cheesy wrapping paper delicately. He let it flutter the ground. He was greeted with an ornate wooden box with a clasp. The box was decorated with snakes along the rims.
“Open it, open it!” I urged.
“Bloody hell, you're impatient,” he complained. He fiddled with the clasp and opened the box.
Inside was a green white-chocolate snake. It was winding around the outside, and on the inside was a custom-made metal snake quill.
I watched as Draco's jaw dropped. “Where the hell did you get this?”
“I custom ordered it. It cost a pretty penny, but it was worth it. First, I commissioned Scrivenshaft’s Quill shop owner to make the box and the quill. Then, I went to Honeydukes to commission a white-chocolate Slytherin snake. They even dyed it green for your pleasure. Do you like it?”
“Do I like it, she asks,” he exclaimed. “It’s perfect. And I thought my gift was thoughtful.”
I broke a piece off of the snake and held it to my mouth. “Say ‘ah’!”
Draco took the chocolate. He smiled widely as he chewed. “This is delicious,” he vocalized. He closed the box and set it beside him on the bed. I was about to start opening his notably small box, but he cupped my cheeks. I met his gaze, and I blushed. He was staring at me with such adoration… well, I was quite flattered.
I I leaned in and shut my eyes as he grew closer. I expected him to kiss me, but instead, his lips pressed to my forehead. They remained for a minute, but the he pulled away. “You’re too good for me,” he whispered.
I giggled, swatting his chest playfully. “Nonsense. Now, if you don't mind, I'm eager to see what you got me.”
I tore the wrapping paper carelessly. I had an inkling that it was some sort of jewelry from the flatness of the box. It was a blue box. I popped off the top. I was in absolute awe at how beautiful the piece was. It was a necklace and ring set. The necklace was silver and attached to the chain was a hollow silver heart with a lapis lazuli crystal heart inside of it. The ring was from the matching set, a silver ring with two small diamonds and a azure heart in between them. There was an inscription on the inside of the ring that said the date.
“Oh, Draco…!”
He took the box from me and unhooked the necklace. He moved my hair out of the way and clipped the necklace on. The moment the jewelry touched my shirt, I played with it. He took my left hand and slid the ring on my middle finger. I was in completely shock from how beautiful and thoughtful the gift was. I’d never been given something so… glamorous.
“Thank you. This is the best gift I’ve ever received,” I gushed. “This must’ve cost you a fortune! Are these real diamonds? You didn’t have to —“
Draco placed his finger on my lip to shush me. “It’s nothing. I wanted to… show my appreciation.”
I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into a side hug. “God, I’m the luckiest girl alive. If I knew this was what you were giving me, I would’ve bought you something else —“
“No, your gift is perfect. Really. I’ve never… had someone be so thoughtful before.”
I sent him a reassuring smile. “Get used to it.”
“Out of curiosity, what did you get my parents?”
I hummed. “Well, for what you’ve told me about your mother, she’s very practical. So, I got her a book of practical spells for traveling. And for your father, I was kind of stumped, so I just bought him a Slytherin paperweight. And for the whole family, I bought a simple picture frame.”
Draco smiled. “I’m sure they’ll love it. Especially mother. She’s always been obsessed with being close with each other.”
“Nothing wrong with that.”
A house elf entered and informed us that it was dinner time. With that announcement, my official holiday with the Malfoy commenced.
~~~
I was right when I thought that the semester was the calm before the storm. Voldemort was on the rise, and Hogwarts had never been more scared of what was to come. Students were being attacked in school. There were small changes in the curriculum and daily life that instigated such concerns. DADA was stricter and we were learning more dangerous spells. Students were banned from leaving the premises. And us prefects were on night duty for an extra hour.
Tonight was one of those nights. I was surveying the left wing by the astronomy tower since there wasn’t much to do. Torches turned on and off automatically when I passed since Hogwarts had installed motion-sensing torches. So, I wasn’t completely cascaded in darkness.
I sat at the bottom of the steps that led to the astronomy tower. I leaned against the wall, hugging my cape to my chest. It was late February, so it was still chilly outside, but not so much as to need winter clothes.
I was incredibly tired. If I could at least get a few minutes of shut-eye before continuing to the next post…
Clack.
I sat up, alert, as I heard distant footsteps. I noticed a torch automatically start from down the hallway. There was someone approaching. A tall, dark figure. I assumed it was a teacher. As the figure grew closer, I realized it was a cloaked figure. I rose to my feet and pulled my wand behind my back.
“Who are you?” I called out.
The figure stopped, as though they didn’t notice my presence until now. Pale hands revealed themselves and pulled the hood down. I was surprised to come face to face with Draco. His hair was thin and all over the place, and his hands were ghostly white, even in the dim, red lighting. His expression, only for a moment, was pure dread and guilt.
“Draco. Fancy seeing you here… I didn’t know your path crossed over mine,” I greeted.
Draco bit his lip, finally stopping in front of me.
“Y/n… It appears that it does.Or perhaps you’re just behind schedule.”
I placed the back of my hand on his forehead. He jumped back, bewildered, his eyes asking for an explanation. “I was checking if you had a fever. You haven’t been looking well these past few days, Draco. I’m worried.”
He bit his lip and abashed his gaze, as though he was searching for an excuse. “I… do you trust me, Y/n?”
“Of course, Draco. What’s all this about?”
“I’ve been thinking for a while. A long time, actually. It’s… been on my mind for years, even before we met.”
He took another step toward me. I instinctively took a step back, my back hitting the wall. I dug my hands into my cloak. Over the break, it was as though Draco had grown in height; at least, it seemed like it in this moment, as he towered over me.
“What about, Draco?”
It was though he completely melted. His hands caged me against the wall and he leaned into the crook of my neck. His hot breath fanned over my skin. I was sure that my face was beet red from the close, intimate proximity. Sure, Draco and I had hugged, given cute platonic kisses, but never like this. Something about this was different.
“I love the way you say my name,” he sighed, pressing a kiss to my neck. “Say it again.”
I lightly pushed at his chest, and he pulled his head up. Our faces were inches away from one another.Our noses grazed, and we maintained a steady eye contact.
“Draco.”
We both swerved into a kiss, our lips crashing against one another. It was the perfect mix of passion and gentleness; his lips were thin and slightly chapped, and I loved it. I weaved my hands into his ashen locks, pulling him closer. Our chests were pressed against one another. One of his hands held the back of my head while the other roamed my waist. It felt so right.
I eventually pushed him, but the proximity between our faces remained close. I pawed at his chest. I licked my lips, hardly thinking at all. All I knew is that I kissed Draco and I liked it. I liked him.
“So… what were you thinking so hard about?” I mewled seductively, running my hands across his shoulders.
It was as though he was breathless. As in-the-moment as he was, behind those stunning blue eyes was guilt. Anxiety. Secrets.
“I’m in love with you. I’ve been in love with you for god knows how long. All I think about is you.”
I smiled, stroking his cheek. His face was red and he was focused intently on me. “I love you too, Draco.”
I leaned in for a kiss, but he suddenly stepped back. He sent me a reassuring elfish grin. “You’re on night duty. You ought to get to your next post.”
I tilted my head in confusion, brows furrowed. “What? That’s sudden. Draco, please, tell me what’s wrong —“
“Please! Go to your next station point.”
I examined his movements. His hands were trembling. His lips twitched, and his eyes were glossy, as though he would burst into tears at any moment. I reached out to him, wanting to ask, but I knew he would not tell me. I withdrew my hand and readjusted my cloak.
“…Yes. I suppose you’re right. I’ll see you tomorrow, Draco.”
I wasn’t sure what note we left that on. We kissed and he confessed, but it was abrupt from the beginning. I began walking away, waiting to be in a proximity that wouldn’t alert him of my presence. Our paths never crossed any other night; he had to be up to something.
I stopped walking a hundred or so yards away. And then I listened. Because of my stillness, the torch eventually turned off. I heard Draco’s padding footsteps walk further up the astronomy tower staircase. The footsteps eventually faded, so I made my way back to the steps. I slowly and quietly ascended to the astronomy tower.
I made it to the bottom floor. I was stunned when I was met with Harry. I was about to speak, but he held his finger to his lips to shush me and beckoned for me to come toward him. When I was standing beside him, he motioned up.
Footsteps echoed above. On one side of the large, transparent globe stood Dumbledore, while on the other, approaching, had to be Draco.
“Good evening, Draco,” Dumbledore stuttered. I was shocked when I saw that Draco was pointing his wand toward the headmaster. “What brings you here on this fine spring evening?”
“Who else is here?” he demanded. “I heard you talking.”
“Oh, I often talk out loud to myself. I find it to be a habit that’s extraordinarily useful. I often whisper to myself.” He paused, his tone becoming empathetic. “Draco, you are no assassin.”
“How do you know what I am?” he retorted, his voice cracking. “There are some things that would shock you.”
I grabbed Harry’s sleeve anxiously. We exchanged glances.
“Like cursing Katie Bell and hoping in return she’d bear a cursed necklace to me? Like replacing a bottle with one laced with poison? Forgive me, Draco, but I cannot help but feel that these actions reflect that your heart really isn’t in it.”
“Trust me. I was chosen.” Draco pulled up his sleeve, revealing the symbol of a Death Eater. Even with the cascading shadows, I knew what he was showing. Draco was working with Voldemort.
“I shall make it easier for you —“
“Expeliarmus!”
Dumbledore’s wand flew out of his grasp and clattered on the floor.
“Very good, very good.”
The astronomy door was opened with a loud boom. Someone else was making an appearance. Harry and I were stock still in anticipation.
“There are others,” Dumbledore continued. “How?”
“The vanishing cabinet in the Room of Requirement,” Draco seethed. “I’ve been mending it.”
Harry began pulling me into the shadows. “Let me guess. He has a sister. A twin.”
“Borgan and Bergs have formed a passage.”
“Genius. Draco, years ago, I knew a boy who made all the wrong choices. Please let me help you.”
I wanted to scream, cry, and smother Draco with affection. He wasn’t evil. I knew he wasn’t. But if he made this decision, it would be over for him. He would have made his choice.
“You can’t.” He was on the verge of tear. “Don’t you understand? I have to do this! I have to kill you. Or he’s going to kill me."
All I wanted was to tell him he didn’t. That Dumbledore could help him. That Harry could. That I could.
Footsteps thudding to the upper level. Someone else had arrived, and I hoped it was backup for Dumbledore. But, my hopes were denied as I heard the snide voice of an unfamiliar woman.
“Well. Look what we have here.” The woman stepped closer to him. “Well done, Draco,” she hissed in his ear.
“Good evening, Bellatrix. I think introductions are in order, don’t you?”
“I would love to, Albus. But I’m afraid we’re already behind schedule. Do it!”
Another voice joined in. “He doesn’t have the stomach. Just like his father. I should finish him on my own.”
With a hand over my mouth, I took a few steps forward so that I could see Draco once more through the floorboard cracks. Tears sprung to my eyes. This couldn’t be the end. It just couldn’t.
“No!” Bellatrix screeched. “The Dark Lord has ordered the boy to do it. This is your moment, Draco. Do it. Come on, Draco. Now!”
I almost jumped out of my skin as Harry and I were met with Snape, who was pointing his wand at us. He then shushed us. Snape was involved in all of this. How?
“No,” Snape sneered as he walked up the steps. Draco’s focus was broken. He was on the verge of breaking down as he swiveled toward the man. Snape paced. Dumbledore made one last eye contact with us. I held Harry’s hand. We both needed some sort of comfort to keep from screaming and shouting for this all to stop.
“Severus,” Dumbledore greeted.
All eyes were on Snape.
“Please.”
“Avada kadavra!” A green flash flew from the wand and hit Dumbledore. I shoved my lower arm into my mouth to muffle my scream of terror as the spell hit the headmaster. I saw his body fly off the precipice. Harry was just as stunned. I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in his chest to prevent my sobs from escaping. I couldn’t watch. I just couldn’t.
Bellatrix, leaning over the balcony, shot a spell into the sky. Hogwarts had been taken. We were fighting a downhill battle.
Harry took off after them, enraged.
I was left with nothing to do but chase after him.

the bad guy
i was listening to a slytherin playlist and felt inspired so here’s this. it takes place in a world where voldemort didn’t exist. also, it’s their last year so reader and draco are 18.
pairing: draco malfoy x reader
description: after being invited to a slytherin party, you discover that you’re one of draco’s newest conquests. the problem is: you’ve always had a thing for the bad ones.
warnings: dirty dancing??, smut, oral (m and f receiving), fingering, pretty dirty
word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
It wasn’t your idea to come, but your dorm mates insisted after finding out you were invited to one of the biggest parties in the castle. So here you are, in the tightest, littlest black dress as you step through the Slytherin portrait door.
You resist the urge to pull the skirt down as you scan the room. You can’t find your friend so you look for the drinks. Finding the firewhiskey, you walk toward the drink table.
You turn to make yourself a drink when you hear a voice behind you. “You clean up nicely, _______,” You’d recognize that voice anywhere. It’s the same one that constantly flirts with you during Charms. And it may or may not be the same one you imagine as your hands sink down your underwear at night.
“You say that like it’s for you, Malfoy,” you reply without turning around.
“It isn’t?” Draco asks innocently. You roll your eyes and turn to him. He looks so good in his white button up rolled up to his elbows. You force yourself to look him in the eyes.
“You think every girl wants to sleep with you?”
“No, but I think you want to sleep with me,” he smirks.
“Get out of my face, Malfoy.” you say, trying to muster as much spite as you could. He doesn’t budge, instead, he moves closer. He places his hands beside you, effectively trapping you between him and the table. He’s so close that you have to crane your neck up to make eye contact.
“Now, you don’t really want that, darling?” You narrow your eyes. What an arrogant arsehole. Just because he’s rich and good-looking, he thinks he can do what he wants.
“You think I’m good-looking?” he asks, amusedly. Fuck, you didn’t realize you actually said that.
You quickly recover, “There’s no point in lying, Malfoy,” you go on your toes so your faces are inches apart. He looks down at your lips and you can tell he’s expecting for you to kiss. “But I’m still not sleeping with you.” You pull away from him and walk away before he could say anything. You take one last look at him and turn around, knowing he’s watching you walk away.
You take a shot to loosen up and head to the dance floor. You get lost in the music and start to forget why you didn’t want to come until you feel a presence behind you.
“Do you know what you do to me, darling?” he whispers into your ear.
You keep your back to Draco, but turn your head. “I’m not sleeping with you, Malfoy.”
“Oh come on, princess. I know you want to.” He pulls you closer so your head is against his shoulder as you dance. “I bet you think about me while you dip those pretty little fingers down your panties,” he whispers dirtily. You gasp at the filthiness, but you can’t deny how much it turns you on. Draco’s probably smirking behind you right now and if you weren’t so desperate, you’d hex the living daylights out of him.
“We’re not fucking, Draco.” You’re definitely fucking him by the end of the night.
“Mhm.” he says, disbelief laced in his voice. The two of you continue to dance as the lust grows. You can’t deny the hazy atmosphere and the chemistry between you two.
“Ya know,” you start to say, but find yourself losing your words with Draco’s breath fanning against your neck and his hands securely on your hips. “I don’t do one night stands, Malfoy,”
“I never said I wanted a one night stand,” he asks.
“Yeah, right,” you retort.
“Darling, I don’t think I could have this pussy for just one night,” You gasp lightly as his hands run lightly up and down your thighs. You hate the effect he has on you. He’s possibly the biggest player in the school, yet you still want him.
“Take me up to your dorm,” you tell him. Draco smiles and takes your hand. Leading you up the stairs, you pass numerous people hooking up before you reach his dorm. Oh, the perks of being a prefect. You hardly have time to admire his spacious room and magnificent bed before he closes the door and pins you to the wall.
“Knew you wanted me.” You roll your eyes and he kisses you. He’s such a good kisser and a part of you wishes you did this sooner. You can’t tell who’s more desperate as both of your hands are everywhere, touching every part of each other’s bodies.
You start to unbutton his shirt and he taunts, “What happened to not sleeping with me?” You ignore him as you finish unbuttoning his shirt. He takes it off revealing his toned body and you bite your lip. He catches you staring and laughs a little before reconnecting your lips. He moves down your neck while leaving a trail of kisses. He’s so fucking annoying, but this feels so good and if he stops, you think you’re going to scream.
“I hate you,” He latches onto your neck and sucks. You gasp and grab his hair. He growls as you yank his platinum locks.
“That’s okay, darling. As long as we’re still fucking,” he says. You don’t reply. Because as much as you want to push him out of the astronomy tower, you also want to ride him till the sun comes up. His hands move to the back of your thighs and he picks you up. You wrap your legs around him as he carries you to the bed.
Draco drops you on the bed before hovering over you. His one hand pins both of your wrists over your head. He feels so big over you and it only makes you more attracted to him. “Fuck, you look so good underneath me.” You moan as his hands trails underneath your dress.
He groans and says, “No panties? You knew you’d end up in my bed at the end of the night,”
“Actually, this was for Blaise,” you retort. You’re in no position to be bratty with your hands pinned above your head, but you can’t help it. Draco’s eyes narrow.
“Blaise? No, princess. This was for me.” Draco slips two fingers in and you would be embarrassed by how easily they go in if his slender fingers didn’t feel so good. Draco fingers you perfectly, hitting your g-spot and making you a writhing mess.
“I was right, wasn’t I? You think of me when you get yourself off?” You don’t want to admit it, but he makes you. “Tell me, pretty girl.”
“Yes, yes, Draco. I think about you when I cum.”
He smirks, “Well, you could’ve just told me. The real thing is much better, don’t you think?” You can’t respond, so close to your climax.
“F-feels so good,” you mutter.
“Of course, it does. You think Blaise would’ve been better?” Draco mocks.
“N-no.”
“Tell me you lied then.”
“I-I lied, Draco.” you admit.
“Good girl, you can cum. C’mon drench my fingers.” Your orgasm hits and you cry out his name. He slowly pulls out his fingers and moves them up to your face. You take them in your mouth and suck on them. Draco’s eyes are blown wide with lust as he watches you.
“Fuck, show me what that mouth can do.” Draco stands up and removes his pants along with his underwear. He stands at the edge of the bed as you go on your knees.
Stroking him lightly, you lick up his long cock and begin sucking on the tip. Draco groans and you stop teasing him. He’s probably the biggest person you’ve ever been with so you try to take in as much of him as you can. You get most of him in your mouth and use your hand for the rest. You look up and see his head thrown back. His hands are in your hair as your head bobs up and down his cock.
He lets out a string of curses and before he could cum, he pulls you off. He moves back to the bed, as you remove your dress. Before he could go on top, you touch his chest, stopping him. For a moment, he looks concerned. Then you say, “Wanna ride you.”
“Okay, princess.” he sits on the edge of the bed and you straddle him. Lowering yourself onto his cock, you slide down slowly as he helps you. It’s a stretch and you give yourself a moment to adjust before you start to ride him.
Your legs start to ache as you bounce on his cock. The room fills with the loudest, most obscene sounds, but you love it. You love having Draco underneath you as he watches your tits bounce in his face. His hands grip your hips harshly as you moan.
“D-draco. Can I cum?” you ask.
“Y-yeah, princess. Fuck, you can cum.” you fall apart, completely exhausted. Your arms are wrapped around his neck as you breathe hard against him. You think you’re done before you realize he didn’t cum. Pulling apart, you see the same lustful look in his eyes.
“My turn,” he says before flipping you over. He grabs a pillow and places it under your hips before thrusting. The angle drives you wild and you throw your head back. Luckily the music downstairs is blaring or else everyone would be able to hear your screams. “Look so good on my cock.” Draco says. You can’t respond, so beyond fucked out.
Draco thrusts hard and you feel your climax start to build. Then, he moves his left hand down to your clit and you let out a loud moan. “Is my good girl going to cum again?” he asks. You nod, unable to form words that aren’t his name.
“Do it. Cum on my cock again.” You follow his orders and swear you see white. He continues to fuck you before pulling out and cumming on your chest. Draco falls beside you, his breathing also heavy.
Once you come down from your high a little, you turn to him and ask, “Wanna get something to clean me up?”
Draco looks at you and tilts his head, “Who said we were done?”

Day 63: Hair
After the war, after his eighth year at Hogwarts, after training to be an Auror, after quitting that soul-sucking job, and after accepting the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts, Harry started to let his hair grow out. It wasn’t intentional at first, not really, he was just unbelievably busy teaching. But after a few months, his hair, which had always had a mind of its own, had grown long enough that the wavy-curls brushed his jaw.
He'd looked at himself in the mirror one morning and heard his Aunt Petunia's voice in his head, scolding him and telling him that only girls had long hair. He told that voice in his head to fuck right off and kept growing his hair out.
Not that it mattered what anyone else thought, but nearly everyone had said that his hair suited him. The exception, as it so often seemed to be, was Draco Malfoy. It wasn't as that the Potion's Professor had said outright that he didn't like Harry's hair, but his eyes were always slightly narrowed as though his hair was doing something offensive just by existing. Harry couldn’t understand it.
It all came to a head one afternoon, Harry was in the staff room grading papers and generally minding his own business, when Malfoy marched in and plopped down a pile of his own parchments on the table to mark, “Do you mind if I work here, too?” he asked.
"Not at all," Harry said, gesturing to the place Malfoy had already decided to occupy. He looked down and marked his place on the paper he was struggling through before looking up at Draco and pushing his hair out of his face.
Draco rolled his eyes and gave his head a little shake.
“What?” Harry asked.
“Nothing,” he replied, very clearly looking at Harry’s wild curls.
He sighed, “Out with it.” It had been a very long day, in Harry’s defense, and he just couldn't take another minute more.
“It’s nothing,” Draco insisted, even as his eyes flicked over to where Harry’s fingers were toying with the ends of a strand of hair.
“What have you got against my hair, Malfoy?”
(Read more below the cut)
“Oh, it’s back to Malfoy is it?” he asked, voice light and teasing. “I haven’t got anything against your hair,” he repeated.
“Come on," Harry urged, "You think because your hair is cut short and is always a perfect quiff that it’s better than mine?” Harry asked, and he knew it was childish but he couldn’t stand Draco thinking mean things about his hair for one more instant. “Do you think I look like a girl?”
“What?” Draco asked, sounding startled. “Of course I don’t think you look like a girl. What are you even saying? My father always had long hair, if you remember,” Harry flushed, knowing that was indeed the case. “And while my hair does, as you said, always look perfect,” he added with a smirk, “Your hair is very nice as well. Very healthy, the curls suit you.”
Harry felt his neck grow warm at the compliment, “Then why are you always glaring at it?”
“Because you’re always fussing with it. When you’re anxious or grading papers, it seems like it’s in your way and there are a million things you could do with it so it wouldn’t hassle you so.”
“Like what, cut it?”
“No, don’t be an idiot,” Draco said, rolling his eyes.
“Then what?” Harry muttered, petulantly pushing his hair out of his face once more.
“Like a plait, or a bun, a twist, a half bun even. There are also a myriad of products that could help you.”
Harry chewed on his lip, shoving his curls back behind his ear and thinking about what the other man was suggesting.
“For Merlin’s sake,” Draco muttered. "Here," he snapped, standing up and moving around the table near Harry.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked.
Draco's fingers slipped into his hair, "Trust me."
I do. Harry thought as Draco's fingers started weaving through his hair. It felt surprisingly nice, actually, and Harry found his eyes drifting shut.
"There," Draco said and Harry opened his eyes to see that he'd conjured a mirror and was holding it up for Harry to look into. He'd braided part of his hair back, clasping the hair that was always in his face and pulling it back into a barrette while the rest remained down around his shoulders.
"Thanks," Harry said.
"No problem," Draco replied carelessly as he sat back down to grade papers.
Harry went back to marking his own and they graded in silence for quite a while until Harry spoke up, "This is actually pretty nice."
"Hmm?" Draco hummed, scratching out something a student had written and writing a note in the margins.
"Having my hair back," Harry replied.
Draco looked up at him, giving him a little smile, "You have perfect hair for braids and buns, lots of volume."
"This would be good for teaching," Harry mused, "Especially on days like tomorrow when I have my older students practicing dueling."
"I could stop by in the morning before breakfast," Draco offered, "put it in a braid or something?"
"I wouldn't want to impose-"
"It's no imposition," Draco interrupted. "Honestly, I'll be glad not to watch you fiddling with it all day."
-----
And so began their tradition of Draco stopping by Harry's rooms before breakfast. Harry made coffee for both of them and they enjoyed the quiet together while Draco did something with Harry's hair.
How he would do Harry's hair each morning was always a mystery but every day when he showed him the finished result, something warm and pleased unfurled in Harry's chest.
After about a month of this Draco asked him one morning, "What's your hair care routine like?"
Harry shrugged, eye's closed as Draco's fingers worked through his curls, "shower, shampoo, conditioner," he replied. "Every other day usually."
"That's it?" he asked.
"What else is there?" Harry replied, too relaxed by the way Draco's fingers were moving through his hair to get worked up by his indignant tone.
"Potter, do you know what I did while you were training to be an Auror and all that nonsense?”
“Err? Your potions proficiencies?” Harry ventured.
“Well, yes, obviously,” he said as he tucked some hair up into what Harry suspected was becoming an elaborate bun at the base of his neck. “But I also developed potions for a beauty company. Especially potions for healthy hair.” Harry felt a hair pin sliding into place, “when Minerva offered me this position I almost didn’t take it. I had several offers from businesses who wanted to fund my research and allow me to build a brand for them.”
"Really?" Harry asked. "I didn't know that."
"Yes," he replied, "And you are literally killing me. We're going to start doing weekly conditioning masks for your curls. Spa night," he demanded. "Every Saturday."
"Alright," Harry agreed.
"I'll bring the hair care and skin care supplements."
Harry hummed, "Alright. What should I bring?"
"Dinner."
-----------
So they did. Spa nights on Saturdays and Draco every morning to do something different with his hair, and he loved every moment of it.
Harry had never been a morning person but for the first time in his life he found himself looking forward to being awake and out of bed each morning. He was happy and his hair seemed to be, too.
It seemed impossible, but Harry's hair had grown and grown and grown in the past five months since Draco had started all of this. His wavy curls reached halfway down his back by this point and Draco never seemed to tire of coming up with new ways to do his hair.
One warm Sunday afternoon in May, Harry invited Draco for a picnic and Draco had given him a pleased smile and said yes.
They found a quiet spot on a hill and ate lunch while they chatted and laughed as they watched students goofing around and generally just having fun.
"Merlin," Draco laughed as a group of second years rolled down the hill, sending up puffs of dandelions in the wind, "Were we ever that young."
"Honestly?" Harry asked, glancing over and tossing the curls that Draco had left loose over his shoulder, "I don't think so."
Draco frowned at him, "Even before you knew about Voldemort?" he asked.
Harry laughed and looked at the kids who were skipping rocks over the lake, "Especially then."
Draco moved to kneel behind him, taking down the part of Harry's hair that he'd put up earlier that morning, "Tell me about it?" he asked softly.
He hummed, "Not much to tell, really," he replied.
Draco's fingers started at the hair just above his right temple, "Tell me anyway?"
"Well this," he sighed as Draco started braiding, "Would never have been allowed. Long hair was for girls."
"Pfft," Draco huffed.
Harry smiled, "they," he swallowed, the words still somehow causing him bitter grief, "they didn't want me."
"What?"
"Just," he shrugged, "They had their own child and I was just a burden dumped on them. I wasn't allowed to be a child, I was there to do chores and not get in the way. Everything about me was wrong from my skin color, to my hair, to my eyesight, to my accidental magic."
"That's horrible."
"Yeah," he agreed, "But it was a long time ago. And I turned out alright."
"You did," Draco affirmed and Harry saw him pluck a flower from the grass beside them.
"Were you allowed to be a kid?" Harry asked.
"Sort of." Harry saw flowers zip past him and into Draco's outstretched hand. "There were things that were befitting of Malfoys and things that weren't. Anything that was appropriate for an heir of a noble pureblood house was fair game."
"Draco?"
"Mmhmm?" he hummed.
"It's been nice defying my childhood with you."
When Draco spoke he could hear the smile in his voice, "Likewise, Harry." He tied off the elaborate seven-strand braid he'd been working on and put it over Harry's shoulder to show him to flowers he'd woven in.
"Beautiful," Harry murmured, brushing his fingers over the array of flowers.
"Yes, you are," he replied.
Harry's gaze snapped up to find Draco watching him closely. "There's another way that I'd very much like to defy my upbringing with you," he ventured, clinging to every shred of Griffyndor bravery he'd ever possessed.
"Oh?" Draco asked with a little smile.
He nodded and reached out to cup Draco's cheek in his palm, "Can I kiss you?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Draco replied, leaning in and pressing his lips to Harry's as he buried his fingers in Harry's hair.
And if several groups of students caught sight of the two of them kissing on the hill, well, no one was surprised.
-----------
ahhhh! Sorry friends. This one got a bit out of control. I was just feeling a lot of feelings about Harry having long hair.
Side note, if anyone feels inspired draw Draco doing Harry's lovely flower braid (and I'm not saying it has to be @pato-roldnart but I'm obsessed with your art) I'd love that more than anything.
AHHHHH pato-roldnart did the thing! Look at this GORGEOUS art. I'm in love, please go look at it!
Anyway! I hope you guys enjoy it even though it's long! <3 Thanks for the prompt anon!

A collection of me either trying to make a scene that happened in RP, or just making up a scene of my own. Also yes, all of these are focused on one character; Ryan Parker (aka my blorbo)
Keep reading if ya wanna hear context behind each of these (and something else that I found out and still find funny)
First drawing (drawn June 26th 2019) - I can’t 100% remember exactly what happened, but it was something about how Reid- Ryan’s friend at the time- had to tell them that they couldn’t hang out anymore due to Reid being part of a biker club and needing to prioritize that instead. So Ryan ran off and was emo for a moment before... something happened. Like I said, can’t quite remember, but the two got to hang out again.
Second drawing (drawn July 13th 2019) - After the last drawing, Ryan and Reid became a couple! It was fake at first so they could hang out, but the two eventually fell in love. So I made this scene up- with the help of Sims 4 to replicate the office they had in the biker compound- and then these fucking streamers [affectionate] that plays these two characters recreated this scene in my drawing AT THE END OF THEIR STREAM. BRUH. I was a giggling mess to say the least :’> ... And then the (RP) war happened on the day after o(-(
Third drawing (drawn July 17th 2019) - Tldr; A war broke out between the bikers and a group that called themselves “Cop Killer Records”, and in the center of the war was sadly Ryan. Who ended up held up by the opposing group, got something carved into his chest, and was shot down. While he laid unconscious in his own blood, EMS on their way to his location, someone came up to him. A man by the name of Norman Bones, who sorta signified death. And if I remember correctly, before Norman left Ryan, he said “Not yet.” So uh, yeah. Intense shit.
Fourth drawing (drawn July 25th 2019) - I- along with others- needed some fluff after a week or so of angst from these people due to the war, so I ended up drawing this. Just Ryan and Reid, sitting in the former’s beach apartment, and watching a movie together. I also added a couple of lil’ easter eggs to those who watched these guys as well. One of them being the wedding invite to Mia (Ryan’s best friend) and Colombo’s wedding (which uh... never ended up happening orz). The other being the bloodied map at the right side of the drawing, which Ryan recieved from Reggie’s will (who was a biker who died during the war that just happened).
Fifth drawing (drawn August 29th 2019) - Honestly, just wanted to draw Ryan and Mia together, just chatting shit and doing makeup or whatever :’>
Sixth drawing (drawn December 10th 2019) - Another scene where I just wanted to draw some fluff. This I had to rebuild how the streamer playing Reid built his- and Ryan’s- home in Sims 4. It was a fun drawing to do~.
Seventh drawing (drawn January 23rd 2020) - Ah yes. The voldemort timeline as I named it. ‘Cause- at the time- I don’t think Ryan was a lot around ‘cause the streamer behind him had to play his cop character for a while, so Reid (and the streamer behind the character) was joking around about divorcing Ryan. ... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, they got married during a bank heist where they played DnD. He didn’t divorce him tho’, and Ryan got to come around here and there again.
Eight drawing (drawn Febuary 25th 2020) - Another scene I made up ‘cause I went around in GTA 5 and took a bunch of screenshots of places I would want to try and draw at some point with either just Ryan or both of them. This screenshot is of their home, which is in Sandy Shores.
Ninth drawing (drawn March 27th 2020) - Yet another place I screenshotted, tho’ I think it was ‘cause they found this place in RP, but I can’t say for sure. Anyways, thought it would be cute to make the lil’ room you can go inside of the destroyed plane at the junkyard into a cozy hangout spot. That’s about it.
Tenth drawing (drawn May 24th 2020) - One of my favorite drawings while I’ve been in this fandom! <3 Again, Ryan couldn’t be played for a bit, so I drew him relaxing at his and Reid’s home. Also, there’s that snake again that I really love. (Which I think can be found in the Yellow Jack, and also, Gazz- another biker and Reid and Ryan’s adopted son- named the snake Sheila)
Eleventh drawing (drawn May 27th 2020) - Basically just Ryan and Reid cuddling in bed. That’s about it.
Twelth drawing (drawn May 30th 2020) - I guess I got tired of fluff at the time and just wanted to draw Ryan having some sad boi hours™. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Eleventh drawing (drawn July 17th 2020) - At this time, I got CSP! So, I got to test out it’s 3d features thingy that could help out immensely with the background, which it did and still does! I don’t quite remember if this was a real scene or just me wanting to draw the old ladies (Ryan, Paddy (the redheaded guy) and Lucy (the redheaded lady)) and JP (who’s another biker) just going grocery shopping. It was really fun to draw, tho’ a lil’ frustrating ‘cause of the setting o(-(
Twelth drawing (drawn September 27th 2020) - With Ryan having been in the racing scene a bunch, I just wanted to draw him being a tease while also holding a sandwich or something :’>
Last drawing (drawn September 29th 2020) - So, this scene didn’t happen either. But! There had been times where Ryan had threatened to stab people with a lockpick if they did some shit towards him, his lover, or his friends/family. Which is why I drew this :) (Also, the text is in reference to the fact that a lot of cop characters think that Ryan is 100% a pacifist due to how much he refuses to use a gun/carry a gun with him)
And that’s about that! The funny thing I did want to tell y’all about is how- a month or so back- I found out that Ryan and Reid has been divorced for a while now, but from the looks of it, are still friends? I think? It doesn’t say a lot on the wiki, but does state that Ryan is associated with the biker gang in some way still. Idk. What I do know was that it made me laugh so hard when I found that out :’]

Shake On It [ 2 ]
Tumblr media
Author’s note: I was really in my harry feels whilst writing this so sorry about that lmao also I proofread this so many times and it still SUCKS ASS. I posted this entire thing earlier from my phone but tumblr deleted everything except the title so yeah I’m sorry if there aren’t italics and bolds on some of the words where they should be but i’m just to lazy to go through the entire thing and find them all again, maybe i’ll do it later but who knows. I do not own harry potter or the storyline/characters they are the intellectual property of J.K Rowling. (not my gif)
Word Count: 5.9k
Summary: There’s little to nothing Draco values more than his reputation so when he sees it slipping, he’ll do anything in his power to catch it.
Pairings: Draco Malfoy x Fem!Reader / Platonic!Harry Potter x Fem!Reader
Warnings: angst, foul language, asshole!draco and daddy issues lol
This is an AU so all the information doesn’t exactly line up with the HP storyline for example Voldemort hasn’t returned but still exists so little from Harry’s history changes but Dumbledore’s still alive.
After yours and Draco’s interaction the other night you’d strongly begun reconsidering his offer to accompany him to the ball, maybe he wasn’t as bad as you thought, I mean what’s the worst that could happen? So many things your anxiety was quick to answer, the most important one being that Harry and Ron would probably never speak to you again.
“Y/N are you even listening to me?” Hermione’s voice snapped you out of your trance, her blurry hand waving in front of your face, you quickly began blinking in an attempt to bring your surroundings back into focus, “sorry” you then muttered sending her an apologetic smile before gesturing for her to continue with whatever she’d been talking about.
“As I was saying, I need a cute date for the ball, who do you think will annoy Ron the most?” you were about to answer when a voice from behind you beat you to it.
“Annoy who the most?”
You rolled your eyes having a pretty clear idea of who it was, you reluctantly turned around your eyes immediately locking onto Draco’s who stood there in all his glory a smug smile plastered onto his lips as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Excuse me who invited you to this conversation?” you retorted before turning back to Hermione who had an amused grin on her face causing you to lightly kick her from underneath the table, you didn’t want Draco putting two and two together and realizing you’d talked about him with Hermione.
“I was just wondering if you’d changed your mind about going with me to the ball” Draco cajoled causing your eyes to widen realizing you still hadn’t told Hermione about the fact he’d asked you in the first place.
You sent Hermione an an ‘i’ll tell you later’ look before twisting your body to face Draco’s who now had his hands placed in his robe pockets, his self assurance radiating off of him despite the fact you’d rejected him only days before, the boy had clearly never been told ‘no’ his entire life.
“No and I won’t be, so run along” you stated before making a shooing gesture with your hand which only seemed to have the opposite effect you’d intended it too, since he began to take a few steps forward, licking his lips as he looked you up and down.
“Yes you will” he stated matter of factly and it took all self control you had not to smack him right across the face, who did he think he was?
“Is it really that hard to get it into that tiny little brain of yours that there are girls alive who don’t like you” you practically growled missing how Hermione’s attention had drifted away from the scene unfolding before her and to the two figures who had begun making their way towards you.
“Yes because there aren’t an-”
“Malfoy find someone else to bother can’t you see she’s not interested” Harry cut him off as him and Ron now fully came into view, the two of them standing tall behind Draco whose attention had now shifted from you to them.
“Oh look who it is, dumb and dumber” chortles could be heard from the Slytherin table at Draco’s words causing you to roll your eyes, it was pathetic how they would lick up every single thing he did.
“Offers still there Y/L/N” Draco turned to you before he slowly started to ascend back towards the Slytherin table where he was greeted with numerous pats on the back as he squeezed himself in between Crabbe and Goyle.
“What a slimy git” Ron huffed as he took the seat next to yours, immediately beginning to scoop all the food in view onto his plate.
“What did he want anyways?” Harry asked resting his elbows on the wooden house table as he sat down opposite you.
“He asked if I wanted to go to the ball with him” you feigned disgust as you shook your head, hoping he would drop the subject, you’d never been a good liar and if anyone could see through you it would surely be your best friend.
“Just tell him you’re going with me if he asks again, then he’ll leave you alone” Harry suggested, Ron nodding along with him as he stuffed a chicken wing into his mouth.
“Yeah- yeah ‘course thank you Harry” you scratched the back of your head cringing at the obvious hint of disappointment lingering in your words which thankfully no one but Hermione seemed to notice since she reached her hand out across the table and laid it gently atop of yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
You gave her a small smile before your eyes began dancing around the Great Hall somehow coming to a halt on Draco’s figure, he had his chin resting in the palm of his hand as he engaged in conversation with Blaise.
No one could say that Draco Malfoy wasn’t handsome, rude and a prat? Sure, but unattractive no. He was the only boy you’d ever seen who was able to pull of such a hair color and as your eyes travelled along his sharp jawline up to his chiseled cheekbones you felt the uncontrollable feeling of heat rush up to your face as his eyes met yours.
He sent you a wink before turning back around, you mirroring his actions the feeling of butterflies swarming your stomach slowly melting away as you pushed any remaining thoughts of him aside.
-
The ball was only a few days from now and you and Hermione had decided to take a trip down to Hogsmeade in an attempt to shop for dresses, not wanting to repeat what had happened last year when you both had made the mistake of trusting your parents with your attires, the dresses they’d choosen had arrived the same night as the ball and you had been forced to show up in matching bright pink gowns since it had been too late to go and buy new ones. You’d been the laughing stocks off the school for a couple months after that, never again.
You cringed at the memory that would surely be edged into your mind forever but as you pushed open the wooden door that led into Gladrags Wizardwear you found yourself entranced with all the beautiful dresses littered around the shop.
“Have you decided who you’re gonna go to the ball with?” Hermione hummed as her fingers trailed over a blue gown that hung along with hundreds of others at the front of the store.
“Yeah I think I’m just gonna go with Harry, I don’t want to risk my friendship with either him or Ron by going with Draco” you sighed not feeling the need to hide your disappointment in front of her.
“I get that but if you really do like Malfoy you should just ease Harry and Ron into the idea of you two being together” Hermione shrugged in response before removing the dress she’d been looking at from its hanger and placing it into her arms as you continued browsing.
“How am I supposed to do that you know how much they hate him” you sighed as you lightly dragged your hand over the multiple fabrics that hung on the clothing rag next to you.
“You could dance with him at the ball” Hermione suggested, you nodded silently in agreement before coming to an abrupt halt as a certain dress caught your eye. It was champagne colored and made out of silk with a thigh high split running down the side of it, not the type of dress you’d usually go for but nevertheless you carefully placed it into your arms deciding their was no harm in seeing how it looked on you.
“Who are you going with?” you changed the subject not feeling like talking about Draco anymore, it was really killing your mood.
“Hero Finnigan asked me” your eyes widened at Hermione’s words. Hero Finnigan was in the year above you and was quite the heartthrob around school, he’d been known for having a new girl underneath his arm every week and it seemed that this time around it was going to be Hermione, much to your surprise.
“Please tell me you said yes, if anyone’s going to make Ron jealous it’s definitely him” you assured her, looping your arm with hers as you continued skimming through the store.
“Of course I said yes, I’m not that daft” she shook her head before continuing, “I don’t know though I-I guess I was just hoping that in the end Ron would ask me, but apparently he’s going with Lavender” her nose scrunched up at the mere mention of her name as she let out a heavy sigh.
Your heart ached for your best friend as you put an arm around her shoulder giving her a tight side hug, a subtle way of letting her know you were there for her no matter what.
“Enough about that let’s go try on our dresses and we can tell each other what we think” Hermione was obviously trying to distract herself but you didn’t feel like pressing the subject any further so you only nodded in agreement as you started searching for the changing rooms, it was a surprisingly big shop compared to how small it had appeared from the outside.
Once you’d finally found them at the far end of the shop you both entered separate rooms, simultaneously pulling the curtains shut shielding you from the watchful eyes of the other customers, although there weren’t that many.
You took one last look at the dress letting your fingers wander down the silky fabric before carefully removing it from its hanger and slipping your legs in between the opening.
Once you got it on, you weren’t able to reach the zipper on the back, no matter how hard you tried so you stealthily peeked your head out behind the curtain and seeing no one you began to make your way towards Hermione’s changing room hoping she could be of some assistance.
“Need some help with that?” a voice stopped you dead in your tracks, swiftly turning to see Draco standing there, a mischievous smirk resting on his lips as he took a step closer to you.
“Are you stalking me or something?” you shook your head, furrowing your brows once you noticed how his eyes weren’t meeting yours, instead they were trailing up and down your body, devouring every inch of you.
“Eyes up here Malfoy” you teased which made him finally look up at you, but instead of replying with a snide comment of his own he threw the suit he’d been holding onto a clothing rag nearby and slowly began to stride towards you.
You weren’t able to get a word out as he tenderly placed his ring clad fingers on top of your bare shoulders scanning your face for approval witch you granted by carefully nodding your head taking in a deep breath as you felt him begin to slowly turn you around.
You shivered once the cold metal wrapped around his fingers began to run down your arms, his fingertips then gently dancing down the small of your back in a painfully teasing manner.
You couldn’t help but let out a breathy sigh as he took a step closer to you his lips ghosting over your ear as he began to pull the zipper upwards causing you to almost involuntarily lean into him. As soon as you did his scent consumed you, he smelled of expensive cologne and spearmint, even better than you could have ever imagined.
He stopped as the zip reached the bottom strands of your hair, he thought for a moment before he carefully wrapped his hand around your h/c locks, twisting them gently around his fingers before letting them fall over the side of your shoulder, the tips of his fingers ever so slightly running across the side of your neck as he moved them back down to where he’d stopped.
You gently tilted your head, closing your eyes in content once you felt his hot breath fan over your neck, you leaned your head back at the sensation resting it atop of Draco’s shoulder, shivering once you felt his lips ghost over the sweet spot just behind your ear, one of his arms finding your waist as the other continued to work its way up your back.
Once you heard the faint sound of the zipper click as it reached its closing you slowly opened your eyes feeling him take an impossible step closer to you, your behind now pressed into his front as he trailed his hands down to your hips.
“You clean up quite nice Y/L/N” he breathed out as he began running his hands up to your stomach before finally reaching your waist where they abruptly stopped so that he could turn you back around, you let out a gasp at the sudden forced movement your hands clinging onto his shoulders to prevent you from falling.
You opened your mouth but no words came out as you were consumed by the feeling of his fingers digging into your sides, his lips mere centimeters from yours you almost unknowingly began to lean in.
He mirrored your movements but just before your lips could meet someone cleared their throat from behind you causing you to jump away from him, frowning at the sudden loss of contact.
Once your eyes met Hermione’s you quickly cleared your throat acting as if nothing had (almost) happened, she raised an eyebrow obviously confused at the scene unfolding before her.
You turned back towards Draco who was looking at you almost expectantly, “I’m going with Harry to the ball” you suddenly felt the need to tell him, hoping he wouldn’t get the wrong idea from the little moment you had just shared.
“Potter seriously?” Draco scoffed in return before making his way around you and Hermione, your eyes following his figure and as soon as he was completely out of sight you finally felt like you could breath again, staggering backwards into Hermione who quickly put her arms up to catch you.
“Oh I’m in trouble”
-
You’d decided to buy the dress you’d tried on in the store, even though every time you put it on you couldn’t shake away the feeling of Draco being pressed against you as his lips hovered dangerously close to your neck.... You shook your head in hopes that it would toss the memory out of your mind, you couldn’t be thinking about Draco right now, not when Harry was standing just outside the Gryffindor common room patiently waiting for you to get ready.
“Can you zip me up?” you turned your back to Hermione who quickly rushed to your side swiftly beginning to pull the zipper on the back of your dress upwards. As you closed your eyes you got momentary flashes off Draco’s ring clad fingers wrapped around your body and you tried with all your might to shake the tingling feeling you got away, but nothing seemed to be working.
“Okay do a little spin for me” you let out a laugh at Hermione’s words but nevertheless you began spinning around your dorm playfully, letting your hair fall across your shoulders as Hermione threw her head back in laughter.
“You look incredible” she complemented as you engulfed each other in tight hugs mentally preparing yourselves for the night ahead.
“Oh please, I’m nothing compared to you” you stated linking your arms together before the two of you began to make your way to your awaiting dates.
Once the door to the Gryffindor common room opened the first thing you saw was Harry engaged in conversation with Hero, you could tell by his uncomfortable shuffling that the exchange had been awkward causing you to let out a small giggle which captured the attention of the two boys.
Harry’s mouth hung open as he let his eyes wander all over you, from the thigh-high front split on the front of your dress to your flawless makeup and perfectly styled hair, he was speechless, if you two weren’t best friends he’d probably be tripping over his own two feet by now.
“Well this is certainly an upgrade from last year” Harry let out a teasing laugh as he bowed down to take your hand in his.
“Oh shut up” you feigned annoyance as you stood beside him, feeling goosebumps run up your arms as his hand came to rest on your lower back, leading the two of you towards the Great Hall.
“In all seriousness Y/N, you look amazing” Harry gushed as he pulled you into his side. An uncontrollable blush creeping onto your cheeks at his words as you let your head fall on his shoulder.
“You don’t look too bad yourself, Potter” you teased, the two of you letting out simultaneous fits of laughter as you followed closely behind Hero and Hermione.
After a moment of silence Harry suddenly spoke out, “Ron was going to ask her you know” the two of you shared knowing glances at his words, it was so painfully obvious that your other two best friends were head over heels in love with each other but neither of them dared to make the first move, either to scared of being rejected or ruining their many years worth of friendship.
“Figures” you shrugged a comfortable silence overtaking you as you walked over to one of the many rows of couples stood in front of the entrance leading into the Great Hall.
As the doors begun to open you excitedly smiled up at Harry but before you were able to move forward another couple had harshly pushed their way in front of you and you were immediately able to identify the mob of platinum blond hair.
“Excuse me” you rolled your eyes causing the two of them to turn their heads towards you, you couldn’t hold in your scoff once you saw who he’d decided to bring, Pansy Parkinson of all the people in this bloody school.
“Don’t start anything Malfoy” Harry warned before either of them were able to get a word out, it looked like Pansy was going to throw a snide comment your way but stopped as soon as her eyes met Draco’s, she let out a huff before reluctantly turning back around.
“You look dashing” Draco complimented, you could feel Harry tense up beside you and you snaked an arm around his waist in an attempt to calm him down, the last thing you wanted was to cause a scene.
“Shouldn’t you be telling that to your date?” you retorted gesturing towards Pansy who seemed to be strangely quiet, usually she couldn’t keep her mouth shut no matter the circumstance, but you weren’t complaining.
Draco didn’t respond instead he just shrugged his shoulders before turning back around his arm slipping down towards Pansy’s lower back, you felt the inkling feeling of jealousy begin to form inside you but you forced yourself to push it away giving Harry’s bicep a reassuring squeeze knowing it had taken all his might not to hex Draco then and there.
As soon as Draco and Pansy had left you two be you quickly pulled Harry along with you into the hall so you wouldn’t get trampled by the entourage of students crowded behind you who were also squeezing their way through the double doors.
You intertwined your fingers with Harry’s as you took in your surroundings. It looked even better than last year, snow was falling from the starry black ceiling stopping just a few feet above you, mistletoe’s and every traditional Christmas decoration you could think of were littered all across the hall and instead of the usual house tables there were hundreds of smaller silver ones, each having it’s own floating candle above them.
Once you spotted a decent place to sit you tugged onto Harry’s arm gesturing for him to follow you towards the table your eyes were set on, somehow along the way you managed to spot Hermione and you threw your arm up gesturing for her hand Hero to come sit with you and Harry.
It wasn’t long until the chair beside you was being pulled from underneath the table and Hermione placed her self atop of it along with Hero, you happily greeted both of them but all joy inside you seemed to fade away once you noticed Ron and Lavender heading your way.
Oh please no
Ron placed a chaste kiss on Lavender’s cheek as he pointed towards your table.
Don’t sit here
Lavender eagerly began to nod following behind Ron as they inched closer and closer.
Anywhere but here
Despite your silent praying Ron was now pulling a chair out for Lavender before taking a seat himself and as soon as he did an awkward tension filled the air. You grabbed Hermione’s hand from underneath the table giving it a reassuring squeeze noticing how she’d tensed up once Lavender had bitterly greeted her.
“Whose this then?” Ron could be heard from the other end of the table, you rolled your eyes at his tone, how did Hermione not realize he was jealous hell even Hero seemed to notice it as his eyes uncomfortably shifted between Hermione’s angered expression and Ron’s annoyed one.
“Hero Finnigan, and you?” he reached his hand out over the table and for a split moment your eyes had widened thinking Ron was actually going to sit there and ignore him but thankfully the ginger haired boy reluctantly reached over the table and connected his hand with Hero’s.
“Ron, Ron Weasely”
“Weasely, eh? could have guessed, I’m good friends with your brothers” Hero attempted to make conversation but Ron didn’t seem all to keen on it only muttering a “whatever” underneath his breath causing you to kick him from underneath the table, you gave him a warning glance to which he replied by throwing a small ‘piss off’ in your direction.
Before you could begin to scold him for his rude behaviour Dumbledore’s voice tore throughout the Great Hall preventing you from doing so although you had a feeling that if it hadn’t had been him it probably would have been Harry.
“Welcome students to our annual Jingle Ball, may I say you all look wonderful tonight” Dumbledore gingerly smiled, his wand lightly pressed against the side of his neck as he gestured towards the numerous students all dressed in their finest attires.
“We’ll start the evening with a three course meal prepared by our lovely house elves” claps begun to sound around the Great Hall which you quickly joined in on, smiling brightly once you noticed the numerous elves clumsily standing up from their seats and waving at the students.
“Once you’ve finished eating a band will be preforming for us and I hope that you and your dates will be joining me and McGonagall on the dance floor” laughter sounded around the hall at the last part of his sentence but instead of joining in like you usually would you found yourself draining out all noise as your eyes met Draco’s.
He’d already been looking your way and you couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on your lips as his icy grey eyes burned through yours, you felt like there was some type of force drawing you to him and you couldn’t do anything about it, even though your head was screaming at you that shouldn’t be developing feelings for someone as arrogant and cruel as Draco Malfoy your heart seemed to be having trouble following.
-
Once everyone had finished eating you were eager to get away from your table, somehow Hero and Ron had begun a full blown argument which you and Hermione had to quickly shut down by asking Lavender to take Ron somewhere else until he’d calm down, that boy could not control his temper if his life depended on it.
You’d managed to cheer Hermione up after the entire ordeal telling her that she should focus on herself for once and have fun, thankfully she’d listened and you couldn’t help the giddy expression overtaking your facial features as you watched her and Hero sway together on the dance floor.
“Care to dance M’ lady” Harry merrily bowed down in front of you reaching his hand out towards yours, you placed a hand on your chest in feigned surprise before gently laying your hand in Harry’s palm.
“Why, I would be delighted to” you attempted a posh accent unable to contain the giggle that fell past your lips as you let Harry lead you to the dance floor.
As soon as his arm had wrapped around your waist and the other intertwined with your hand another slow song began playing, most of the students were still digesting their food so their weren’t many on the dance floor, it was only you and Harry, Hero and Hermione and about six other couples.
You leaned your head on Harry’s chest letting him slowly sway you to the soothing melody of the song. “You know I love you right?” Harry mumbled as he placed a kiss on top of your head.
“I love you too, silly” you brightly smiled up at him, you both knew there weren’t harbored feelings for the other hidden behind those three words so you had no trouble voicing it to each other.
You tightly wrapped your arms around his waist continuing to slowly move around the dance floor. You knew how hard his life had been leading up to this point, losing his family, Sirius, and then Cedric he always had the inkling fear that one day he’d lose you or Ron or Hermione so you wanted to make sure he knew you weren’t going anywhere.
Sometimes silence speaks louder than words and you knew you were saying everything you needed just by being there with him, it felt like hours that you’d stayed that way wrapped in each others arms but soon students begun to make their way to the dance floor so you and Harry decided to take a short break, heading hand in hand back towards your table.
-
Unbeknownst to you whilst you and Harry had been in your own world gently dancing with each other for all eyes to see, Draco had been enduring pure torture over at his table.
“I can’t believe she choose Potter over you”
“That’s gotta sting”
“How’s it feel being the second choice”
“Hope you’re ready to do my homework for the rest of the year”
Was all he had heard for the last hour as he’d watched you and Harry dance with one another. No matter the threats he threw their way and menacing looks they just wouldn’t stop, he felt as if his power of being crowned the Slytherin prince was slipping away from him, since in his world losing to someone like Harry Potter was as low as you could get.
Then and there Draco decided he wasn’t going to endure it anymore he was making his move tonight no matter the circumstance.
-
“You know Ginny’s been eyeing you all night” you wiggled your eyebrows nudging Harry’s shoulder who awkwardly began shifting in his seat as he mumbled a ‘really’ in response to which you nodded.
“Go ask her too dance!” you stood up so you could force him out of his seat along with you, you subtly pointed towards Ginny’s direction who had swiftly looked away as soon as her eyes had met Harry’s.
“But what about you?” Harry frowned realizing you didn’t have anyone to spend time with if he’d leave since both Hermione and Ron seemed to be preoccupied with their dates.
“Don’t worry about me I’ll be fine! now go” you ushered him forward giving him a reassuring thumbs up as he began to walk towards her.
“You’re quite the matchmaker aren’t you?” Hermione had suddenly walked up behind you and you both watched in amusement as Harry almost fell over twice before he was able to reach Ginny who had happily agreed to dance with him.
“Where’s Hero?” you asked as you turned to face Hermione eyes wandering around the hall in an attempt to spot her date, “oh he’s just gone to get us some drinks, you’re welcome to join us if you’d like” Hermione offered but you shook your head.
“No its okay honestly I’m fine” you assured her, you did not want to spend the evening third wheeling your best friend and her date.
Hermione began opening her mouth surely to convince you to join them but stopped once her eyes landed on something behind you or rather someone behind you.
“Care to dance?”
You swiftly turned around to see Draco with his hand reaching out towards you, you tried your best to contain the smile that was so desperately gnawing at the sides of your mouth as you turned back to Hermione who was giving you knowing smile.
“Find me if you need anything alright?” you eagerly nodded at her words only turning back to Draco once Hermione had fully vanished into the crowd.
“One dance, that’s it” you attempted to sound serious but it came off in a more teasing manner as you let your hand fall into Draco’s.
“Agreed”
As soon as you’d reached the middle of the dance floor, Draco’s arm had snaked around your waist pulling you into him whilst the other intertwined your fingers. You let out a giggle as he began twirling you around, gracefully catching you back in his arms as both his hands moved to rest on your lower back.
“You’re quite the dancer” you complimented, without a doubt boosting Draco’s already large ego, “I know” he had replied with a knowing smirk, twirling you around one last time before pulling you flush up against him your noses bumping together since you’d already been looking up at him. You’d held the eye contact for a minute as you brightly smiled at each other before you gently let your chin rest on his shoulder as he slowly began swaying you from side to side.
As your eyes began dancing over the students you didn’t think anything could burst your happy bubble until your eyes found Harry’s who had a look of disappointment edged onto his features as he pulled away from Ginny who had frowned at his sudden dismissal as she watched him begin to make his way out of the Great Hall.
You cleared your throat as you uncomfortably began shuffling away from Draco who gave you a look of confusion as he watched you pull your hand out of his and back away from him.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry I can’t do this” you muttered before hurriedly turning around and squeezing your way through the crowd of students all huddled together on the dance floor, most of them giving you annoyed glances as you pushed them out of the way but you didn’t care all you wanted to do was find Harry. You couldn’t imagine how he’d felt once he saw you his best friend, dancing with someone who’d made his life a living hell ever since the first year.
Once you’d exited the Great Hall you frantically began looking around the empty corridors in an attempt to find Harry who’d stormed out here only moments ago.
“Y/N!” you heard Draco call from behind you but you ignored him, picking up your pace once you heard his nearing footsteps echoing around the empty hallways.
“Y/N please wait” you felt him grab ahold of your wrist swiftly turning you back to face him, his grip only tightening as you began attempting to pull your hand away.
“No! You can’t treat my friends like shit and then expect me to give in on whatever the hell you’re trying to do” you finally managed to rip your hand out of his grasp as you turned back around but he quickly ran in front of you placing his hands on your shoulders to keep you in place.
“Listen I’m sorry alright, bloody hell I just- I can’t stop thinking about you I don’t know how to explain it but I think I might-” he cut himself off hesitating to speak his next words unsure of how you’d react since he didn’t want to return to his friends with yet another failed attempt.
“You think you might what?” you crossed your arms over your chest glaring up at him as you watched his mouth open and close again.
“Fancy you” he finally let out, your eyes widening as you let your hands fall down to your hips. You took a few steps back until you couldn’t move any further the tall walls of the castle preventing you from doing so.
“You what?” you barely whispered and Draco took that as his chance to walk towards you placing both his hands on the wall next to you.
As you looked back up at him he slowly started to remove one hand from the wall so he could place it onto your cheek and just like he’d done in the store, he began leaning in until his lips were barely hovering above yours, you so desperately wanted to close the gap between you but a part of you was screaming to push him away and never look back, but as your eyes met his once more you couldn’t bring yourself to do it your heart taking control as he pressed his lips against your own.
Your lips continued dancing with each other at a normal pace until he’d moved to deepen the kiss swiftly wrapping his arms around your waist so you were able to loop yours around his neck, he pushed you even tighter up against the wall causing you to let out a gasp allowing him to slip his tongue into your mouth.
You ran your fingers through his hair gently pulling on the strands on the back of his head before letting your head fall to the side as he began leaving kisses down your neck his hands trailing down your sides until they wrapped around your hips pulling you even further into him.
You gently blinked your eyes open as you pulled away from him, your lips undoubtedly swollen and your lipstick smeared but you didn’t care.
“No one can know about this, not until I talk to Harry” you breathed out leaning your forehead against his as you attempted to slow your heart rate by taking deep breaths in and out.
“Of course I won’t tell anyone” he lied, he’d gotten quite good at that after having to continuously lie to his father ever since he was a child, one particular incident that he would never forget was when he’d accidentally let one of the house elves go because he didn’t know that to free them they had to be granted an item of clothing and on a particularly cold night he saw no harm in granting the elf his jacket since it had been shivering beside him and when his father had barged into his room later in the night furious at his son’s stupidity Draco had lied and told him that the elf had tricked him into doing so and upon hearing this his father had tracked the elf down and casted the unforgivable curse onto him, after that Draco lied to his father about almost everything he did to ensure something like that would never happen again.
Amongst his peers he was powerful and feared but when it came to his father he was nothing, never good enough and always in the way. School was the only place he felt he was more than his father’s words so he knew that as soon as he would make his way into the Slytherin common room the first thing he was going to do was tell his friends that he’d done it, that you were slowly but surely beginning to fall for him, which put him right back on top.

hi ok sooooo i have asked numerous writers for this request because i thrive on angst and fluff 👁👄👁 so here goes: a love triangle between draco, harry, and a ravenclaw reader. the reader’s been known to be head over heels in love with draco and giving him origami hearts everyday for a year or two, which he only throws in his trash bin. he usually just ignores her and finds her gestures annoying and laughable. one day, he goes too far with his rebuttals. the reader, heartbroken and realizing she had no chance at all, stopped pursuing him altogether. for the next few weeks, he found himself weirded out that he hadn’t received any origami hearts. while emptying his trashbin, he discovers that when you unfold the hearts, there were little notes of encouragement and sweet letters. just as he was about to confront her, he notices the reader folding something on her table during class and thinking it was finally another origami heart for him. however, it was a butterfly, and she handed it to harry instead. Jajdjeioa PLS MAKE IT ANGSTY AND FLUFFY IT’S UP TO U ON HOW IT WILL END BUT WOULD BE CUTE IF HARRY MADE THE PAPER BUTTERFLY FLAP ITS WINGS THO
Ok sorry for the cliche and long request, take your time and stay safe. I enjoy your writing sm 🥺
Butterflies and Paper Hearts || D.M, H.P
Requested: Yes Pairing: Draco Malfoy x fem!reader , a bit of Harry Potter x reader but not really Warnings: ANGST, swearing, Summary: Draco doesn’t like you and tries to let you down multiple times, when it finally does work he feels regret wash over him.
WORDS : 3864
First of all, I’m so sorry for taking so long to get to this. I read the request when it first came in and I loved it but I’ve been struggling to conceptualize it, and then I fell into a bit of a sad spiral because of all the other stuff that’s been going on in my life, which is why I took me so long to complete it. Second of all, I had to amend the idea a bit to make it work for me, e.g I wrote this in an AU where Voldemort doesn’t exist because I hate mr. no-nose, and I didn’t make the hearts go on for years. Third of all, thank you so much for this request! It’s a lovely concept and I really enjoyed writing it <3

Butterflies.
Flying. Soaring. Alive.
The first time that Draco had ever noticed you was in your fourth year. You were sat at the Ravenclaw table and immersed in a discussion with Padma Patil, one that had you laughing so hard that you were throwing your head back and wiping tears from your eyes. The sight had knocked the wind out of his lungs, like someone had just punched him in the stomach, and he felt the weirdest sensation in his gut.
It was butterflies erupting.
~~~
The first time that you noticed Draco was in your fifth year. Ravenclaws and Slytherins were in Charms together, as usual, and you’d accidentally sat next to him instead of Padma.
“Dude, you’ll never guess what happened this morn-“ You stop speaking the second you notice that the person beside you is, in fact, not your best friend but rather a scowling Slytherin. “You’re not Padma.” You frown.
“No shit.” He rolls his eyes, “What gave it away? The green robes or the blond hair?”
“The snarky attitude.” You instantly reply and he looks taken aback for a second, “Who are you anyway?”
If you’d thought he looked shocked before, you were wrong. “Excuse me?”
“Who are you? What was so confusing about that sentence?” You raise your eyebrows, “Clearly not a Ravenclaw.”
He scoffs at your remark but answers anyway, “I’m Draco? Draco Malfoy?” He asks, a pretentious tone lacing his voice. “We’ve shared this lesson together since you got here last year?”
“Stalker much?” You ask with a smile and he rolls his eyes. “Anyway, nice to meet you Draco, I’m Y/N.”
“I know.” He replies simply as he takes the hand that you’d outstretched. “Some of us pay attention.”
“Mhmm.”
“So what happened this morning?”
“What?” You furrow your eyebrows in confusion.
“You were about to tell me about what happened this morning.”
“Oh.” You respond in embarrassment and watch as his smirk grows.
“What? Am I not worthy of your great story?”
“It’s not that, I just don’t think it’ll interest you.”
“Try me.”
“Right, what’s all this then?” Padma asks as she stops in front of the desk with a confused expression.
You giggle at her obvious confusion, “I accidentally sat here instead of by our normal spot. Do you know this miserable boy?”
“Better than I’d like to admit.” She responds sourly before turning a harsh gaze toward Draco, “Daddy’s boy.”
“Wench.” He responds and she rolls her eyes.
“Are you coming to sit with me?” Padma asks as she turns back to you and you shake your head.
“Maybe tomorrow, I’d like to sit here and annoy him today.”
“I cannot possibly stand in the way of that, you’re doing the whole grade a great service.” Padma replies with a laugh as she goes to sit a few desks away from you.
~~~
Day 1 - 1 Heart
Hearts.
Fragile things.
It’s the next Monday when you have Charms again, and you decide to sit by Draco’s desk in hopes of him coming to sit beside you.
“What on earth are you doing?” Draco asks as he peers over your shoulder before sitting in the chair beside you.
“Origami.” You respond with a smile and he raises an eyebrow toward you. “That thing where you fold pieces of paper into shapes?” You ask and he nods in understanding.
He takes his seat with a sigh, “Sounds boring.”
“Everything sounds boring to you.” You roll your eyes before finishing up the origami heart.
“True.”
You give it a once over and smile in satisfaction before turning to Draco and handing it out him. “Here.”
Hearts. Absurdly fragile things, Draco thinks as he feels his own heart begin to race. Here you are, nonchalantly handing him a piece of paper, and he feels like his entire world is collapsing in on itself at the gesture. Y/N, giving me a heart.
He rolls his eyes and takes the object from you with a scowl, “Why are you giving this to me?”
You shrug, “You’re not completely intolerable, you’ve earned it.”
He smirks, “Careful, people might start to think that you like me.”
You smile, “Maybe I do.”
Your smile reminds him of butterflies- bright, fluttering, inviting, warm, beautiful.
He rolls his eyes and makes a big show of tossing the origami heart into a nearby bin, and you fight to hide the hurt hidden behind your eyes. But what you don’t know is that at the end of the Charms lesson, once everyone else has left, Draco goes into that very same bin and pulls out the heart.
Day 20 - 20 Hearts
“Are you still doing this?” He asks in annoyance as you hand him another origami heart, the same way you have, every morning, for the last twenty days.
“Yup. I’ve got no reason to stop.” You shrug with a small smile.
“How about the fact that I think they’re stupid and I don’t like them?”
“You’re under the misconception that I care about your feelings.”
He chuckles and brings his face down to yours till you’re inches apart. “I think you care a lot more about my feelings than you’d like to admit.”
You swallow and look away from him, trying to avoid the warm feeling that’s creeping up your neck and settling into your skin. “You wish blondie.”
“Mhmm.” He replies absent-mindedly as he turns into the classroom, drops the heart into the nearest bin, and sits in his seat.
You try to look unbothered as you go to sit beside him, ignoring the disappointment that’s churning your insides.
Day 35 - 35 Hearts
You watch as Draco inspects the origami heart from the Slytherin table, hoping that he might open it this time.
“He’s going to break your heart, Y/N.” Padma whispers from her seat beside you in the Great Hall.
You shake your head and let your eyes drift away from the blond at the Slytherin table. “He wouldn’t do that, he’s a lot better than you think he is.”
“Y/N, I’ve known him a lot longer than you have and I know that this isn’t going to end well.”
“And why not?” You ask defensively.
Because you’re a muggle-born, Padma wants to say, but she knows that it isn’t her place to crush your dreams so harshly. She shakes her head instead and smiles sympathetically, “Nevermind, I’m sorry for overstepping.”
You don’t notice, too busy talking to Padma, that Draco tucks the little piece of paper into his robe with a small smile.
Day 50 - 50 Hearts
You don’t exactly know when you caught feelings for Draco, it’s like all the small moments just bunched up together, but you know that it wasn’t your intention. The hearts, the sitting together in charms, it had all just started as friendly gestures in an attempt to get the scowling boy to befriend you, but somewhere along the line things just got too messy.
And now, you’re utterly infatuated with him.
You take a deep breath as you pull out the small box from your bag containing Draco’s Christmas present. The train comes to a half at platform 9 and 3/4, and you quickly grab your belongings before rushing out of the train in order to catch the blond before he goes home for the holidays.
You catch him by the door and you smile at him. “I’ve got something for you.”
“Another paper heart?” He raises his eyebrows with a smirk and you shake your head.
“No, it’s something else actually.” You hand the box to him, wrapped in a mix of dark green and navy blue paper, and he accepts it with a skeptical glance.
“What is it?”
“A Christmas present.” You laugh and he nods sheepishly in acknowledgement.
“Oh.” He rubs the back of his neck, “I didn’t get you anything…”
“I didn’t want anything.” You smile again, “That’s not why I got you a gift.”
You watch as he nods again and looks out the window. “Then why did you get me the gift?”
“Cause we’re friends.” You shrug and he swallows.
If he were any other person then the erupting butterflies in his stomach would be an obvious sign to pull you closer and hug you till both your arms hurt. If you weren’t a muggle-born witch, and his parents weren’t watching him intently from outside the train, then this would be the moment that he seized to let your friendship blossom into more.
“We’re not friends.” He spits out coldly, and you’re taken aback by the sudden harsh tone.
“Okay…” You reply quietly, “Acquaintances?”
“For fuck sake…” He mumbles with a sigh, “Y/N, I don’t like you, at all. You’re annoying, you’re pushy, and worst of all, you’re a mudblood.”
Harsh words, words that taste of venomous denial, are running out of his mouth before he can stop them. The look of astonishment and sadness on your face has regret dancing on his tastebuds like the taste of tar, and he struggles to push that feeling down.
“You don’t mean that…”
“I meant every word, and I can repeat it if that empty skull of yours didn’t catch it.”
You shake your head and look down at the ground, trying to blink away tears, and he nods as he turns to finally leave the train.
“Draco.” You choke out and he whips his head back angrily.
“What?”
“I forgot to give you this today.” You whisper as you hand him his origami heart and push your way past him toward the platform.
You feel sick, you feel sad, you feel disappointed. There’s a twisting and churning that’s going on in your stomach but it’s not like normal, it’s the opposite of what you’ve felt every time before.
It’s butterflies dying.
He watches you walk away as a lump forms in his throat.
Day 65 - 0 Hearts
Draco walks into charms half-expecting you to be sitting somewhere else, and half-hoping that you’re sitting in your usual seat beside him. He didn’t open the Christmas present, too much guilt weighing him down, and he hopes that you don’t give him any more paper hearts.
He feels an odd combination of anguish and comfort when he sees that you haven’t moved, and goes to sit beside you in silence. You turn to him and smile but say nothing to him, not then and not for the rest of the lesson. When you get up to leave he half-expects you to drop an origami heart on his books, and disappointment consumes when you don’t.
Day 75 - 0 Hearts
“Morning.” He mumbles as he finds a spot beside you, as usual.
“Morning.” You respond.
That’s all the conversation that you two have now. A part of you misses the way the two of you had been before, easy-going, sarcastic, in-sync, but an even bigger part of you understands why that had to be over. He could never allow himself to love someone like you without resentful undertones of disgust and shame, and you could never settle for someone who doesn’t love you regardless of your blood purity.
“Y/N…” Someone whines from ahead and you look up from your desk to find Harry stood in front of you.
You laugh at his childish behaviour, “Yes Harry?”
“Please help me with this assignment?”
“No.” You respond bluntly, just to mess with him, and he pouts at you.
“Please?” You shake your head, “Please?” You shake your head again and he pouts at you hopelessly, “Pleaseeee?” He begs once more and drags out his plea.
You laugh once again and nod, “Okay fine.”
“Thank you so much!” He exclaims excitedly and leans over the desk to hug you. You shake your head and giggle in his arms, and Draco has to look away to ignore the looming feeling of jealousy consuming him.
Day 103 - 1 Heart
“So, I know that we’re not friends or anything…” You start as you turn to Draco, “But Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and I can’t resist the urge to give you one more.”
He furrows his eyebrows in confusion but feels realisation wash over him as you hand him an origami heart, one that’s bigger than all the rest you’ve given him in the past. He nods and takes it from you, trying to pretend as though his heart isn’t swelling at the gesture. “Thank you.” He responds curtly before the two of you revert back to silence.
It’s only when he’s alone in his dorm room that night that he actually looks at the origami heart. It’s red, and you’ve written his name across it in cursive. He runs his fingers along it and allows himself to unfurl it, feeling shocked to find words written inside it.
I know you never read these, so I’m probably wasting my time, but I wanted to say that I miss you.
Ridiculous right? I even feel stupid writing it. But it’s the truth, I do. I miss your smile, and your laugh. I miss the way you would scribble nonsense in my book to distract me from the lesson, and I miss the way you’d get so frustrated when I did the same. I miss the way you’d make fun of me for being a nerd, and try not to look proud when you outdid me in tests.
I miss your jokes too, even though they weren’t really funny, and the way you’d always forget your textbook so we were forced to share and we had an excuse to talk. I miss you a bunch, even though I know that you don’t miss me nearly as much.
Happy Valentine’s Day pretty boy,
I wish you could’ve loved me the way that I love you.
He quickly jumps off his bed and walks toward his trunk. He pulls out the Christmas gift that he never opened and another small box that he’d used to store all of your origami hearts, and begins to go through them all.
Note 1 - You’re weird but I like you. Very defensive, I hope that I can knock down those barriers. Note 2 - Your hair looked really nice today, made you look like a famous movie star who pays people to do it for him. Do you secretly have a hairdresser in your room? Note 3 - Your eyes are a strange colour, a cross between blue and grey, it reminds me of the sky before a really pretty rainstorm.
He opens every heart, from the first to the last, processing every last compliment that you’d ever written. With every word he reads, he feels a mixture of love and guilt wash over him simultaneously. Love for you- because you’re kind, and funny, and beautiful, and way too good for him- and guilt- for treating you so horribly because he was scared, when all he had wanted to do was kiss you, and hold your hand.
9 - I’m oddly very proud of you for beating me in the latest Charms assignment, you might actually be the bigger nerd between us both. 20 - I know you hate that I call you pretty boy but that’s what you are, you’re unnecessarily pretty! 26 - You’re very funny when you’re not trying to be. Your jokes are horrendous, but your impersonations and quips can be quite amusing. 35 - I’m starting to think that you don’t read these. No, I’m sure that you’re not reading these. Doesn’t matter though, there’s so many things that I love about you and I think I’ll explode if I don’t put them down somewhere. 47 - I’ve fallen very hard for you, it might be your dumb laugh or the way you tickle me whenever you walk into class, but I didn’t know that you could feel this much for a person. Damn you pretty boy. 50 - Padma thinks you’re no good for me, I agree, but I don’t care. I love you too much to give you up.
The last of the collection is the Christmas gift that you gave him. He’d refrained from opening it out of shame, feeling unworthy of a gift from you after being so cold to you that day on the train. He unwraps it and finds another paper heart, with a silver engraved ring above it. The words, ‘pretty boy’  are inscribed into the ring and he smiles at the sight, a few tears sliding down his face.
Pretty boys like you deserve a little more than paper hearts, I hope you like it.
He slips the ring on before getting off his bed, walking to his desk, and pulling out a piece of paper.
Day 104 - 1 Heart.
It’s Valentine’s Day and his palms are sweaty, for the first time in his life Draco has sweaty palms because of a girl.
You’re in your usual seat and you’re folding another piece of paper. His heart soars at the sight of you so focused, that goofy smile you always have whenever something demands a lot of your attention, and your hands working delicately against the edges of the paper. He stops in front of you.
He clears his throat and you look up at him, startled by the sudden interruption. “Oh, Draco, morning.” You respond with a small smile, obviously still apprehensive about him.
“Happy Valentine’s Day Y/N.” He smiles back and slides an origami heart onto the desk, beside the butterfly that you seem to have been folding.
“What’s this?” You ask in confusion as you pick it up and inspect it.
“You’ve made enough to be able to tell by now.” He deadpans and you laugh softly with a nod.
“It’s a paper heart.” You smile up at him, “Did you make this for me?”
“Maybe.” He responds curtly as he slides into his chair beside you, but you catch the shy smile he’s harboring.
“Thank you.” He nods, “I could’ve done better though.”
He scoffs, “That’s not a fair comparison.”
“And why not?” You raise your eyebrows and he chuckles as he rolls his eyes.
“Read the note inside and you’ll know why.”
“There’s a note inside?” You exclaim excitedly as you start to unfold the heart and he yanks it out of your hands.
“No! Read it later when I’m, like, far away from you.” He says defensively and you furrow your eyebrows but nod in agreement.
“Alright, I’ll read it after school.” You take it back from him and put it in your robe. You resume folding the butterfly and smile when you see that it’s done.
Draco watches intently as you finish it, expecting you to hand it to him once it’s finished, and furrows his eyebrows in confusion when you set it down and scan the classroom.
“Harry!” You exclaim as you watch him walk from the door and toward you with a bright smile.
“Y/N.” He responds once he’s standing in front of you. “Is this for me?” He asks once he sees the butterfly on your desk, and Draco is about to scoff at the question but you nod your head eagerly.
“Of course!” You pick it up and give it to Harry, watching excitedly as he opens it up and reads the note inside.
Draco watches in silent envy as Harry laughs, at whatever you’ve written in the note, and brings his lips down to your forehead. “Thank you so much butterfly, I love it.”
You smile proudly and your eyes light up as you watch Harry cast a charm to make the butterfly flap it’s wings and fly down to his desk. “When are you going to teach me that? I’ve been asking for weeks now!”
“If I taught you then I wouldn’t have anything to impress you with.” He smirks as he leaves to his desk and you shake your head with a laugh.
“You two seem to be quite friendly now…” Draco mumbles, trying to hide the jealousy in his voice. The butterflies that had been erupting in his stomach earlier that morning being trampled to death by Harry.
“Yeah, we’ve been-“ You cut yourself off with a gasp as you catch a glimpse of the ring that you bought Draco, “You’re wearing it!”
He smiles at your excitement, thinking about how such simple expressions from you leave butterflies fluttering in his stomach. “Yes.” He chuckles and you smile.
“I thought you didn’t like it.” You respond softly and he feels his heart break.
“No, not at all. I just didn’t want other people getting jealous.”
He smiles at you and you feel that familiar bubbling in your stomach, like rosh bushes blooming at the sight of the sun, but you can’t exactly pinpoint the feeling.
Later that day when you’re sat beneath a tree and reading Draco’s letter, you know exactly what that feeling is.
~~~
Y/N.
Beautiful, funny, kind, observant, utterly perfect Y/N.
I’ve spent the last three hours trying to come up with a reason for you to forgive me, I couldn’t come up with one. I also tried to find an excuse, any really, that could justify my horrid actions over the last few weeks, and I couldn’t find one. So instead, I settled on just telling you the truth.
I’m a coward.
You’re probably laughing right now and thinking, “He’s only realising this now?”, and the answer is yes. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but you’re the brighter one between us two. It took me 103 more days than you, to realise what you knew the first day you made me a paper heart; the two of us are meant to be.
That sounds a bit cheesy doesn’t it? Doesn’t matter anyway, because in note 12 you said that you enjoy my cheesy anecdotes. I’m not sure why though, I’m not particularly sure why you love anything about me when you’re you, but I guess some mysteries can never be solved.
I’m sorry for those words I said that day on the train, I didn’t mean them. I was scared of what my parents would think if I fell for a muggle-born witch, but I forgot one important thing; it doesn’t matter. All that matters is the fact that I’ve never been as happy as when I’m with you. If I could spend the rest of my life getting these perfect little paper hearts from you, listening to your sweet laugh, bothering you when you’re trying to get work done and buying you rings that match the ones on my hands, then I’d be over the moon.
I’m sorry for taking so long to tell you this; I love you Y/N. I know that I haven’t earned a second chance but if by some miracle you decide to grant me one then I promise to make it worth your while.
I would pick the stars out of the sky for you Y/N, if only you asked me to.
Happy Valentine’s Day from your pretty boy.
You look up from the letter and wipe the tears that had managed to escape, before getting off the grass and running back into the castle. When you find Draco eating dinner in the Great Hall, and see him flash you a shy smile, you instantly know what that feeling from earlier was.
It was butterflies reviving.
I’m pretty sure I completely deviated from what you wanted, I’m so sorry if it’s not satisfactory :( It’s so cheesy and I feel like I messed it up at a few points but either way I liked writing it, it made me very happy to finally write some Draco fluff again.
anyway, love you all,
"Wish I'd left it there"
Hinny's first kiss in the movies really annoys me, but the script had a line about them talking about Tom Riddle's diary that was actually good (and missed in the books). I thought about that scene after seeing a giftset and then I just started writing a few words about a possible conversation between Harry and Ginny, the night before the Final Quidditch Match (aka the day before they kiss).
Hope it makes some sense!
There is a miserable look on Harry’s eyes that feels strangely familiar to Ginny. It is not that he doesn’t have any reason to be upset on this day; it is the evening of the final Quidditch match, Harry won’t play, he has weeks of detention ahead and he got scared after being involved with a dark art spell.
But the look on his eyes as he stares at the book on his hand - that is not related to any of these reasons.
She is not really surprised when she sees what book he is holding. The potions handbook that she knows was borrowed hurriedly at the library that morning, before Slughorn’s class. After all, Harry hid his original book the day before.
The Half-Blood Prince’s book.
The book that taught him many spells and gave him many tips, a book that Harry treated like an old friend, until… until the book betrayed him. That’s a feeling Ginny knows too well.
She remembers how it was after Christmas in her First Year, when she threw away Tom Riddle’s diary; she tried to get another book to replace it, a place where she could safely put her thoughts. She even wrote a few words, but it wasn’t the same.
Ginny remembers feeling betrayed by the diary, by what it made her do, and yet missing it like a part of herself. That’s the expression on Harry’s face.
He is alone on the couch in front of the fire. Ginny tells herself that she shouldn’t do anything - Ron and Hermione are probably more suited to talk to him, she has a few notes to study or she should even be sleeping before the last match -, but instead she finds herself drawn to Harry's side, sitting next to him.
‘Hey’, she tells and he jumps, his face colouring as it happens lately when she is near. Harry smiles, though it is more of a grimace, and Ginny tries not to let it bother her.
Before yesterday, before he casted that curse, Ginny could swear there was something happening between her and Harry - a sort of dance where they were getting closer and closer, almost touching and recoiling at the last moment, both of them waiting for the right signal to... to it happen. But ever since that story with the dark spell, Harry had withdrawn, avoiding to look at her as if he had let her down somehow, and Ginny had seen the shadow on his eyes as he talked about Dean rejoining the team.
Ginny doesn't really hate that half-blood prince for writing down a nasty spell, but she surely hates him for making Harry miserable. No book should have that power.
‘Hi’, he answers, a little late. ‘Thought you were sleeping already’.
‘Before the match? Too nervous’. She tries to grin, hoping it might infect him a little. ‘I was actually studying History of Magic’.
There is a faint amusement in his eyes now. ‘Wow’.
‘Yeah, I thought, it may make me sleepy or I might actually learn something. Win-win in any case’.
‘Sleepy is better’.
‘And there goes my attempt to get nine OWLS’.
‘Why nine?’
‘It’s more than Ron got. I hope it’s enough to ease Mom since I didn’t get the prefect badge’.
‘Who would want to be prefect?’
‘Not me - imagine being on rounds in a perfect nice Friday night?’, she asks, still light, and Harry looks around briefly, as if he only now realizes what was on Ginny’s mind for a while. They are nearly the last ones in the Common Room.
‘Oh’. Harry bits his lips, the pink in his skin now reaching his neck as the corners of his lips lift up. ‘It’s a nice night’.
And then, finally, Harry is looking at her as he does these days - eyes sparkling, nervous and excited at the same time, his gaze falling to her lips as if he feels drawn to it, before his eyes move to take in her face, every little detail, as if he was tasked to memorize it.
By the amount of time Ginny has caught him staring at her lately, she thinks he could draw her face if he wants to.
‘Ginny’, he whispers tentatively, and her lips part, tongue wettening them almost involuntarily; Harry’s eyes watch that movement and now there is fire on them. ‘I -’
But his words are cut when there is a heavy thump and they look down at the same time to watch the potions handbook opened on the floor. There are only the author’s writings on them; no words scribbled on the pages.
Harry backs away, his face troubled now. Ginny knows she ought to go away too, to give Harry an awkward smile and acknowledge that their moment is over, but she stays.
As easy as it feels when she is around him, it wasn’t to flirt that she went to talk to him in the first place.
‘It is not your fault’, she tells him bluntly. Harry eyes her warily.
‘I casted the spell. I won’t try to -’
‘I meant to trust him. That Prince guy’.
‘Oh’. He looks at the book on his hand. ‘Dunno. I feel stupid’.
‘For trusting a book that ended up disappointing you?’, she asks, inviting him to join her weird joke. Harry blushes, looking strangely flustered about what she is saying.
‘It is not like that, the diary was… truly evil’.
It seems like there is more he wants to say, but Harry looks away.
Ginny shrugs. ‘I know it was evil. Even then, even before I knew to whom it belonged, I knew it was evil and still… I missed it a lot. I tried to get rid of it twice, you know?’
Harry shakes his head. ‘I know about that time you threw it away in Moaning Myrtle’s toilet’.
She gives a reluctant laugh. ‘Not by best moment’, she acknowledges. Harry almost smiles. ‘Before that, before Christmas, I tried to hide in the same place you did. The Room of Requirement, though I didn’t know then what it was. Wish I’d left it forever’.
‘Oh. I never knew’.
‘Yeah, and I spent all holiday Christmas missing it like hell. I was miserable. I thought about it all the time. I would get angry when I saw other books, because it wasn’t the one I wanted’. She pauses. ‘No wonder I took it back first thing’.
Harry looks sheepishly, understanding what she means. ‘I won’t take it back’, he whispers. ‘Not just because of Snape finding out, I just - I just don’t want it right now’.
‘He betrayed you’, she summarizes. Harry startles as if he didn’t think about it in those terms before. ‘I think you should leave it there for a while. Try to forget it. Don't get too attached to it’.
‘Clean myself out of it?’
‘You are not tainted’, she says. Not like she was, she thinks.
Harry’s eyes are hard now, fierce. ‘Neither are you’, he tells her. ‘That diary… his soul… there is nothing of him on you. You are bright and powerful in a way Voldemort could never be’.
She should shudder at the name, but with the way Harry says it, with the resolution in his eyes that leave no room for her self-doubt, Ginny doesn’t fear Voldemort. Harry may have spoken about her brightness, but she thinks his lightness is powerful too, much stronger than the shadow of Voldemort’s name.
‘You can love’, he adds, his voice tender now, and though Ginny can think of a lot of people that she loves - her family, her friends -, she thinks of another type of love, one that she hopes to share with someone someday.
Not anyone. Maybe a special someone, she thinks, admiring the green in his eyes.
‘You can too’, she whispers back. There is a flash of surprise on his eyes, and Ginny wonders if Harry ever heard that he is loved; if he remembers it. But she doesn’t doubt that he can love and he knows it; he is too compassionate to not feel love.
And she wonders if he ever thinks of sharing a different kind of love with someone too.
But for now, she just picks up the book on the floor and gives it back to him.
‘It is just a book’, she says, raising.
Harry nods. ‘Just a stupid book’, he agrees.
‘I’m gonna sleep now - good night, Harry’.
‘Good night’. There is a pause. ‘Catch the snitch tomorrow, yes?’
‘I will wait for you with the snitch on my hand’, she promises him, giving him a small smile. ‘It’s a promise’.
Something flickers in Harry’s eyes, a faint glint of hope that makes Ginny think that tomorrow might be better. Tomorrow might be the day where their dance change tunes. ‘I’ll be waiting’.
You Walked Away From Me (Fred x Reader)
House: Left it for the reader to choose
Relationship: Fred x Reader (Draco x Reader friendship??)
Genre: Angst
Word Count: 2.4 K
I’m back with another more Fred Angst! I listened to drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo when writing this. It’s not really based on it but the song helped me get in that mindset. It’s such an amazing song! This is is in the same universe as the Dear Malfoy one I wrote. You don’t have to read it to enjoy this but I highly recommend that you do! No Voldemort in this universe. Italics are the readers thoughts. Also no Angelina slander! I had to pick a female character.
Masterlist
Enjoy! :)
Falling out of love is expected, especially if two souls aren’t meant to be.
He had told me not to worry about her. She’s only a friend....
It was natural for Fred to be around Angelina Johnson. They were in the same year and she was the Gryffindor quidditch captain. It was only natural for their worlds to intertwine.  But that didn’t mean you didn’t worry about her being around your boyfriend. Every insecurity you’ve ever felt multiplied every time you saw her. She was tall like the models you saw grace the covers of the muggle magazines, she was just as pretty as them. Plus she had a good amount of the boys at Hogwarts vying for her attention. You felt so young and immature compared to her. Which was one of the reasons you refused to tell Fred of your constant thoughts of the insecurities you felt.
You had no reason to be insecure about the time he spent with her.
Because he had honestly not given you a reason to doubt him. He had never given you a reason to be suspicious of him. Your relationship with him had honestly been a dream until right now. He had asked you to the Yule Ball in such a simple and intimate manner. The whirlwind that was your fourth year also brought you love. You didn’t think you would ever find someone who truly loved you for you. But Fred showed you that he did. Someone who made every day worth it. During the summer you wrote to each other every day until he finally invited you to come over to the burrow. Your parents were hesitant to let you go at first since this year was different. You would around your boyfriend but you had managed to convince them after informing them that your Ginny and Hermione would also be there and that you had previously visited them already.
He had even told you he loved you for the first time while you were there. You thought everything in your relationship was going smoothly.
This year was Fred’s final year at Hogwarts so it was expected for him to be much busier than usual. You would never hold that against him. He had spoken to you about his plans to open a shop with George after leaving school. But that didn’t mean he didn’t have to finish this year, Molly would not permit that to happen. But he still made time for you no matter what. He would look for you at every chance he had. You treasured each fleeting moment with the ginger boy who had stolen your heart.
But things started to change slowly and you couldn’t help but notice.
Maybe you should’ve paid more attention to the changes you saw in him. The newfound lack of time he now had for you. The way you noticed he no longer looked at you the same way. When he no longer held your hand for long. The way he toned you out when you spoke to him about the newest adventure you had read. He had always asked for the book after you so he could read it for himself too. Slowly over time, he stopped asking what you were reading and wanting to be a part of your world.
I wish I could’ve erased all our time together.
You were going to sneak into the boy’s dormitories to return to give Fred back his potions book he had accidentally left in the library when the two of you were studying. This was the first time in a couple of days she had even spent more than five minutes with her boyfriend. He had suggested that they study together and you had jumped on the opportunity to spend more time with him. Even if it was in silence but you were with him.
Normally she would’ve kept the book and just gave it to him in the morning. But with his unusual behavior as of recently, you weren’t sure you would even see him in the morning before class. Snape already had it out for Fred and him showing up without his potions book would definitely be costly for him.
She was used to sneaking into the dormitory as she sometimes hung out with Fred in his room. She walked to the familiar door she was used to seeing. You stopped suddenly when she heard Fred’s voice. He was talking to someone and she wanted to make sure she wasn’t intruding into the conversation. Must be George or another dorm mate.
That’s when she heard a female voice. Angelina
“Fred are you sure what you’re saying”, Angelina said softly, you could barely hear her.
There was a pause for a couple of seconds. What do they mean?
“Yes”, Fred finally spoke. “I like you…”
“But what about (y/n)”, Angelina questioned him. You can hear that her voice had started to become shaky.
You felt your heart breaking as if it was physically being shattered. It felt as if someone had torn it straight from your chest and now was mercilessly breaking your glass heart it into nothing.
You had heard enough and you pushed the door open without much warning. You startled the both of them as they jumped far away from each other.
“Oh hey (y/n)...wha-what’s wrong”, Fred stuttered as he made his way toward you.
“You left your potions book in the library”, you answered showing zero emotion in your voice as you threw the book on his bed. It bounced off his mattress and landed with a hard thud on the floor.
“I need to talk to you alone”, you said as you emphasized the last word directly at Angelina.
They gave each other a look and Angelina exited the room. As she was leaving her eyes kept looking between the two of you. But you kept your vision trained on Fred and didn’t spare a glance at the girl leaving.
“Since when Fred”, you spoke coldly to him as soon as you heard the door close.
“I-I-I….please let me explain”, Fred said as he attempted to grab your hands. You pulled them away as if his touch was burning you. Maybe it did in a way.
“Then explain and no excuses.” Tears were already forming in your eyes.
“Since the end of October”, he said while looking at you.
“The more time we spent together, the more I realized my feelings were changing”, he continued to speak to you. “Things changed (y/n) and I’m sorry.”
“You said you loved me”, you cried softly as tears were now pouring down your face. Your voice betrayed what you truly felt. You wanted to yell at him until your throat got raw and could no longer yell at him. “I guess you never truly meant it when you said you loved me.”
“I did! I-I...thought I di-...the love changed from romantic to simply as a friend. I meant it when I said it”, Fred exclaimed as he ran his fingers through his hands. Completely frustrated at the situation before him that he created. “Please (y/n), I still love you and care about you as my friend.”
“Stop! You don’t get to call me your friend Fred Weasley”, you yelled at him. This outburst surprised him as he had never seen you act this way. “You lost that privilege.”
“I didn’t want to hurt you”, Fred said while looking into your eyes pleadingly.
All that pent up anger and insecurities were finally spilling over. She was over this.
“Just shut up….you’re such a git Fred Weasley”, you said while angrily wiping the tears on your face. “It’s obviously over but that’s exactly what you wanted.”
“(y/n), please…..”
“Some Gryffindor you are, you’re nothing but a coward Fred Weasley.”
Wanting to get the final word in she quickly left his room and slammed the door. She hurried down the hall of the boys’ dormitories looking to get out of here as soon as possible. It felt like she was suffocating.
She accidentally bumped into someone as she was exiting the common room. She threw out a lame apology and kept walking without stopping. She didn’t really care at this moment. She hurried down the school looking for a place that they wouldn’t look for her. She just wanted to be alone today.
I wish I could turn back time to the moments we were happier.
(Y/N) sat at the top of the astronomy tower with tears spilling from her eyes. At some point, she could no longer cry and just let the tears silently slip from her eyes. Her body felt heavy from the minutes she had already spent sobbing. Her eyes were swollen and all she wanted to do was close them and sleep. But she was outside right now and she honestly didn’t feel like getting up right now. (Y/N) felt pathetic at the fact that she thought Fred had ever truly loved her. He claimed that at one point he did but she couldn’t even be sure of that. The presence of the moon and stars that glistened in the sky brought some peace to her at this moment. (Y/N) was so lost in her thoughts that she failed to hear the footsteps coming up the tower.
“(Y/L/N)? What are you doing here”, questioned a voice that (y/n) immediately recognized.
Draco Malfoy.
She quickly whipped her head to face the boy who was making his way towards her.
“Look Malfoy”, (y/n) responded with a long sigh. “I’m not in the mood today. So if you’re going to throw some insults my way…. just do it. I don’t care anymore.”
“You seem like a mess (y/l/n)”, Draco said as he sat down on the floor next to (y/n). He still kept his distance though.
“You sure have a way with words Malfoy”, (y/n) said with an eye roll. “So charming.”
“I’m stating the obvious. What’s wrong?”
“Why should I tell you”, she responded defensively. “So you can go tell the rest of your friends and tease me about it.”
“Fine. Then don’t say anything.”
There were a few seconds of silence before he spoke again
“I wouldn’t kick you when you are already down”, Draco said so quietly that (y/n) could barely hear him say it.
“Why wouldn’t you? You clearly hate me”, she scoffed at him.
“I never hated you (y/n). I just greatly disliked those you decided to make yourself an acquaintance with”, he said nonchalantly.
“Well...you’re in luck because I definitely won’t be around them now”, (y/n) said simply as she stared at Draco.
Draco only starred at her with a confused expression on his face. He honestly didn’t know what to say next.
“He cheated on me”, (y/n) finally said to him. She saw his eyes soften at her confession.
“And you know what’s worse? My supposed friends probably knew. George definitely did”, (y/n) said as she ranted to Draco. Someone she never thought she would even speak to unless it was to trade snide remarks.
“Well if they never told you they were never truly your friend.”
“Plus he’s their brother and much closer to him. It’s only expected that I’m going to be the one pushed to the side.”
“Well if you need someone to talk to, I’m here every night.”
“Why are you being so nice to me”, (y/n) questioned him. They had never been on best terms but it’s because she had learned to ignore him and pay no attention to his remarks.
“Everyone needs someone to talk to and like I said I never hated you.”
(Y/N) thought about this for a while. She was conflicted on trusting Draco, especially after their shared history. She was emotionally vulnerable at the moment and wasn’t in the best mindset to make a decision.
“It’s getting late, we should go before one of the prefects comes up here”, (y/n) said to him.
“Your right”, he said simply as he stood up. “The offer still stands (y/l/n).”
With that Draco Malfoy walked away from her and left her baffled at what just had occurred.
Darling how I wish last night was just a nightmare…
(Y/N) had been trying to avoid her friends the whole day. She decided to not show up to breakfast and avoid the awkward situation. Plus they were her only friends and she didn’t really have anywhere else to sit other than with maybe Luna. She was more of an acquaintance but she knew that she wouldn’t deny her a spot. She had skipped any class that she shared with them and hid from the rest of the day. But she couldn’t skip dinner. She was hungry and her candy stash was depleting quickly. Plus she couldn’t live off sweets. She had to go.
As she walked into the great hall, she felt nervous about what she was going to do. She didn’t want to face this right now. She was going to just keep on walking and make her way towards Luna. But once she entered she only made it a short distance before her entire mind went blank when she made eye contact with Fred. Hermione saw her next and started to stand up to make her way towards her. She has to get out of here.
Maybe she could live off her candy for a couple more days. She turned around quickly and started to make her way towards the door. But someone grabbed her hand. Not right here.
“Come sit here (y/l/n)”, Draco said as she looked down at him. He was sitting by himself and that was unusual considering that his friends were always around.
“Your friends won’t mind”, she questioned him. She noticed that her friends had all turned their attention to her and Draco. They were all looking at them.
“It doesn’t matter what they think.”
She looked at Draco and then at Hermione who was still standing and assessing the situation. She took her hand away from Draco’s grasp and sat down next to him. She turned to look at them one more time. They looked extremely confused at her actions. Fred looked at her with obvious annoyance on his face. She couldn’t believe he even thought he had the right to be annoyed.
She knew she couldn’t run from them, but she would deal with that another day.
I’m thinking of maybe continuing this??
Happiness: Harry Potter X Muggle!Reader
Tumblr media
Ding dong
The bell at Number Four, Privet Drive rang.
‘Boy, scurry off!’ Petunia growled at Harry; afraid he would do something to the person who was at the door.
Harry hid inside his old broom cupboard.
Even after spending two whole years at Hogwarts, and about to start his third, the Dursleys never let him come and see whoever was at their door.
It’s not like I’d stun them, Harry gloomily thought. I’ve got better things to do.
In truth, he really hadn’t.
Which is why he peeked through the small crack in the door to see who was there.
Petunia opened the door.
‘Er, yes?’ Harry heard her say.
‘Mrs. Dursley, good afternoon!’ a voice spoke.
The voice was gentle and sweet, a great variation from the Dursleys’ harsh, barking tones towards Harry.
It was the voice of a girl; one he did not know.
‘How may I help you dear?’ Petunia smiled.
‘Er, well, Dudley took my maths book yesterday, and I-I have a test coming up day after, so could you please ask him to lend it back?’ the voice asked.
‘Of course.’ Petunia smiled. ‘Come in, dear.’
That was when Harry finally saw the owner of the calming voice.
It was you.
Looking ever so beautiful and elegant with a halo of politeness surrounding you.
Petunia went upstairs to retrieve your book.
He did not know why exactly, but Harry felt like he had to talk to you.
He had to.
And if he didn’t, then the chance would be lost forever.
He walked out of the cupboard.
‘Oh!’ you exclaimed in surprise.
‘Er, sorry.’ He muttered, feeling foolish.
‘No, no... quite alright... I’m Y/N. Y/N L/N. you are?’ you asked, holding out your hand.
‘Harry. Harry Potter.’ He said, shaking your hand.
You frowned slightly. ‘Potter... I’ve heard that before... you’re Dudley’s cousin, aren’t you?’ you asked.
‘Er, yeah.’ Harry awkwardly said.
For a moment, a small flash of fear took over your face, but you tried your best to hide it.
Harry noticed it anyway.
He felt anger bubbling up inside him.
‘I don’t go to St. Brutus’ if that’s what’s scaring you.’ He said with more venom than intended.
You looked positively nonplussed. ‘Oh? Oh dear, I’m terribly sorry. It’s just that... Dudley says such awful things about you... I’d started thinking you were a mad hooligan!’
‘Dudley says a lot of things that aren’t true. For instance, he beat up a toddler and told me he’d won a boxing match.’ Harry shook his head.
You giggled slightly.
‘So... you’re his friend, then?’ Harry asked.
You looked down. ‘Uhm... well, no. I’m afraid he’s not very nice to me. I don’t think he likes me much.’
Harry felt yet another wish to strangle his cousin.
‘Why’d you lend him your book, then?’ he asked in confusion.
You sighed. ‘I didn’t. He took it from me when we were out during recess.’
‘Prat.’ Harry muttered.
When they heard Petunia’s footsteps, Harry jumped back inside the broom cupboard.
She was wiping fake tears, mumbling.
‘Diddykins, always such a gentleman. Asking for a girl’s book so politely.’ She mumbled.
You had to look away in order to roll your eyes.
-------------
Needless to say, you and Harry became friends since that day.
The Dursleys would always kick him out, and this used to annoy him, but now he had somewhere to go, so he used to leave without a word.
You two would meet up in the nearby playground and do one of the things Harry considered a big privilege.
You’d talk.
Nothing in particular, you’d sit on the swings and just talk.
Harry deeply wished he could tell you about Hogwarts, how Voldemort was a huge threat to his existence, but what would you think?
You’d call him mad.
You still followed the same routine.
You’d talk, everyday you’d talk and talk and one day he would leave, leave you behind, lonely.
Things however, changed quick after that.
He had just gotten home from third year, and was spending the summer there.
You had met up as usual, and he’d excitedly told you how his best friend, Ron Weasley, had invited him to stay over that Sunday for the rest of the vacation.
‘Oh... you’re leaving so soon?’ you had asked, and Harry thought he had heard the slightest bit of sadness in your voice, but that couldn’t be.
You wouldn’t be sad if he left, he wasn’t even on your priority list.
Which is what he thought.
To you, Harry was that cute boy whom you could consider one of your closest (and only) friends.
So, upon hearing that piece of news, you were jealous of this Weasley person.
No, that wouldn’t be right. You thought. He’s been at that school for three years; you’ve just met him. Why would he want to stay because of you?
You had been lonely that summer, and when Harry came back, it was unusual.
When he came back from his fourth year, he was a mess.
He’d jump at the slightest things, like a cat or a stray dog, and would hyperventilate a lot.
One day, he’d had a particularly bad panic attack.
You were on your swings, as usual, when Harry started rolling around on the floor, clutching his head.
You had gotten used to this, so you crouched next to him.
‘Ssh, Harry, breathe.’ You’d soothingly whisper. ‘Focus on your breathing, take deep breaths. Yes, that’s better, isn’t it?’
Harry was more grateful to you than he could have been.
Despite you not knowing the reason his scar hurt, you didn’t poke in further.
You left it at that and helped him whenever he needed help the most.
Your heart sank when Dudley’s gang came marching.
You hurriedly propped Harry up on the swing, before sitting down yourself.
‘Come on a date with a girlfriend, have you?’ Dudley sneered at Harry, his mates laughing loudly.
Yet another surge of anger passed through Harry’s body. ‘Beat up another ten year old, Dudley?’
‘This one deserved it.’ Dudley nonchalantly replied.
‘Five against one... that’s nice.’ Harry snapped.
Dudley’s lips curled over his teeth in a snarl. ‘At least I’m not afraid of my pillow! Don’t think I don’t hear you moaning in your sleep!’
A muscle was jumping in Harry’s jaw.
‘Leave it.’ You whispered.
‘Oh, don’t kill Cedric!’ Dudley mocked. ‘Who is Cedric, your boyfriend?’
More laughter issued as you held onto Harry tighter.
‘Mum, he’s gonna kill him!’ Dudley went on. ‘Where is your mum? Where is your mum, Potter? Is she dead? Is she dead?!’
You had released Harry; however, it was not him who went up to Dudley.
‘Pathetic!’ you snarled in his face. ‘What do you think you’re playing at, joking about his mother’s death? Absolutely pathetic!’
Dudley had given you a half smile, gesturing to his friend.
One of the boys held you and slammed you against the roundabout, making you hit your head as you groaned.
Harry jumped up and pointed his wand right at Dudley.
It was at that moment, that the skies darkened, as if a storm was ahead.
In mid-summer.
You and Harry walked home, Dudley following behind.
Suddenly, you felt cold.
Not because of the lack of warmth, but because it became really, really cold.
You heard a scream as your vision darkened.
Harry choked for air as a Dementor held him in place, desperately searching for his wand.
He saw you collapse to the floor, panting heavily.
With great effort, Harry grabbed his wand and managed to croak out.
‘EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!’
A silver stag rose out of Harry’s wand tip and fought off the Dementor holding him in place, before heading to you.
The Dementor instantly dropped you, almost scowling, which it would have done if it had no face, and glided out of the alleyway.
Dudley looked sick, but Harry didn’t care.
He rushed to your side immediately.
‘Oh my god, oh my god, cloaks.’ You whispered. ‘Cold air, c-cloaks, I saw my father die... all o-over a-again and i-it was so c-cold, all over...’
Harry shushed you, smiling understandingly at your rambling, disgusted at whoever sent those stupid Dementors to harm somebody as innocent as you.
---------------
‘So... he’s a wizard.’ You clarified, looking at the batty woman whose living room you were sprawled across.
‘And a ruddy good one at that, I mean, a corporeal Patronus at his age-’ she said.
‘Mrs. Figg.’ You interrupted. ‘He’s... he’s going to come back next summer, isn’t he?’
‘Of course, dear, whyever not?’ she looked at you as though you’d gone mad.
‘Those things... Dementors, as you said... were they trying to harm Harry?’ you tentatively asked.
‘Yes dear, sadly, yes.’ Mrs. Figg distractedly muttered. ‘Mundungus Fletcher, when I get my hands on that little squat again, I swear!’
You were trembling.
Something was after Harry, something terrible.
And you were in no power to help him.
----------------
‘Is something the matter?’ you asked, trying hard to keep a straight face.
‘Have you ever tried macaroons; I reckon they’re brilliant.’ Harry mumbled, ignoring you.
You rolled your eyes. ‘Harry.’
Sighing, Harry looked at you. ‘Hm?’
‘What’s wrong?’ you repeated.
‘Nothing.’
Lies.
‘Harry, something is very much wrong, and you know it.’ You disapprovingly said. ‘What is it?’
Harry sighed. ‘Its just... he’s growing stronger, you know. I... I fear there might be a day where I go to Hogwarts and never come back.’
Your heart sank into your stomach.
‘Its... cmon, Harry.’ You spoke. ‘We can’t... if you think like that, then, you’re not going to fight very well, are you? I’ll have you know, I am always here for you, and I have absolutely no intentions of letting whoever kills you live in peace.’
Harry chuckled at your scathing threats.
‘I’m gonna miss you, Y/N/N.’ Harry mumbled, intertwining your fingers with his.
You sighed. ‘I’ll miss you too Harry.’
More than you can imagine.
-----------------
‘Harry Potter, open this door!’ you screamed, banging furiously, not caring it was raining and you were sopping wet.
‘Harry, I swear, I WILL BREAK THIS DOOR!’ you yelled, ripping your throat raw.
The door hesitantly opened, as a certain boy stood before you.
Choking an enormous sob, you pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.
Sobbing into his shoulder, you melted into his touch.
‘Ssh Y/N, ssh.’ He mumbled soothingly.
‘Harry Potter.’ You croaked. ‘You had best returned from this war ALIVE.’
‘I’ll try Y/N/N.’ Harry whispered. ‘I’ll try.’
Your sobs were growing uncontrollable, and Harry did the only thing he could think of to shut you up.
He kissed you.
Slowly and carefully, his lips took in your own, as you melted into the kiss.
Not caring about the salty tears you could taste, you gently stroked his cheek.
When you pulled apart, you sniffed. ‘Good luck, Harry.
----------------
The rain beat down on your house heavily, as you sat near your window.
Something was wrong, you could sense it.
He’s alive... God, no, he’s alive, please.
Each thought, each dream, showed you endless ways Harry would be dying.
You hated it.
After many days of crying, a knock on your door made you jump.
‘Y/N!’
That voice.
That amazing voice.
Trembling, you opened the door, seeing a messy haired Harry standing there, tears painting his face.
‘My God.’ You gasped. ‘You’re alive. Oh, Harry!’
After yet-another hug, Harry came inside.
‘I reckon I should’ve made this more special.’ He said seriously. ‘But I can not wait any longer.’
You watched, confused, as Harry took your hands.
‘Y/N L/N, the moment you came into my life, I have felt nothing but pure happiness. I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?’
You gasped, hand flying to your mouth.
Sobbing harder, you hugged him.
‘Yes.’
That's my experience, at least, and I've stolen quite a few things over the years. So I can say this with confidence. You can't lose something you never had. But you’ll have to read it in the book, dear. While the Crown doesn’t wish for me to speak out in public, I have been silent for too long. You see, There were three of us in this marriage. And people, the press, have assumed many things over the years about Draco and me. So this book, as you’ll see, it’s my attempt to set the record straight. Yes, there were three of us in this marriage, but there were also much more going on than that. -- This is the story the Crown never wanted to get out. In other words, I bring you the x-rated version of the book ‘Diana - her true story - in her own words’.’ It’s the Dramione as Charles & Diana AU you didn't know you needed.
Stop Thinking
Day 14, story #1 is by @voldemorts-tap-shoes
Title: Stop Thinking
Author: voldemorts-tap-shoes
Pairing: Ron x Hermione
Prompt: Bravery
Rating: T
TW: mentions of character death
She’s going to do it.
At least, that’s what Hermione tells herself as she lurks outside Ron’s attic bedroom, her hesitation weighed down by her own self-doubt. It’s been seven days since Voldemort was defeated. Five days they’ve been back at the Burrow. Only two since they buried Fred.
It’s been seven days since she kissed Ron, and she’s going to confront him about it.
Forcing herself to summon every bit of her house’s defining trait, she knocks on Ron’s door and receives a faint grumble from the other side that sounds vaguely like an invitation. She inches the door open carefully and peeks her head inside to find Ron prone on his bed, staring at the ceiling. “Ron?”
He jumps at the sound of her voice, and his tone is more welcoming this time when he says, “Oh, it’s you.”
Hermione shrugs as she enters, his words not quite the bolster to her confidence that she could use at the moment. “Just me,” she replies, shutting the door softly behind her and turning the lock with a quiet but definitive click.
Despite the events of the last few days, Ron’s lips hint at a smile. “I didn’t mean just you,” he says, and she can tell he’s only just refraining from rolling his eyes. “I thought it might have been Mum with more of the wash. I’m glad it’s you.”
His words ignite her internal conflict, and she launches into an immediate diatribe. “And that’s the thing, isn’t it?” she says, her words coming out rapid-fire as she begins to pace, still a respectable distance from Ron and his bed and the ghastly orange sheets she has more than once envisioned being tangled in. “You’re glad to see me, but I wasn’t sure about...I mean, I know a lot’s happened, with Voldemort, and the battle, and Harry, and—” she stops herself before she can blurt Fred’s name, the wound still too fresh, and swerves to another of his brothers instead “—and even Percy being back is an adjustment and…”
She heaves a sigh and chances a glance at Ron, who hasn’t properly moved from the position she found him in, but is watching her with a concerned frown. “I thought maybe I should’ve never kissed you at all,” she huffs, “but you kissed me back, so I’m fairly certain you enjoyed it even if it wasn’t exactly the moment either of us intended.” Ron lets out a chuckle as his blue eyes follow her movements. “And then, of course, I thought you wouldn’t want to kiss me again here, with your family, although Harry and Ginny don’t seem to have any qualms about it and if anyone ought to be nervous about such a thing around your family, it’s Harry. But I was also thinking that you’re grieving your brother, and everyone else, and who can think about kissing at such a time, and—”
Hermione lets out a gasp as she turns again to find herself face-to-face, chest-to-chest with Ron. She was so engrossed in her speech that she didn’t even hear him move from the bed, but now he’s right here, so close to her that she can feel his breath against the bridge of her nose. “Stop thinking so much,” Ron whispers, his fingertips tracing up the curve of her arm to land around her elbow.
“What?” Hermione returns in a squeak.
Ron stoops so that his face is level with hers and repeats himself, separating each word with an emphatic pause. “Stop. Thinking. So. Much.”
Hermione shakes her head. “This is what I do, though; my brain doesn’t stop, it just keeps—” She’s cut off by Ron’s lips suddenly pressed to hers in an unhurried, almost chaste kiss, much more closely matching what she thought their first kiss might have been like. She had never imagined throwing herself at him and snogging him senseless while the castle crumbled around them, but—well, desperate times and all.
Ron pulls away and brushes his nose against hers, and despite what she just said to him, her head is blissfully foggy in the aftermath. “I don’t mean to stop being you. And you’re right, about everything you said. But none of that means that I didn’t want to kiss you too.”
“Well…” Hermione turns her face up to him with a slight frown. “Why didn’t you, then?”
Ron shrugs and gives her the lopsided grin she’s so fond of as he leans in again. “I guess we both need to stop thinking so much.”
