I love your dragon au, may I have some headcanons?

Uh sure! You weren’t ship specific so i’ll try and be a lil broad and touch on a few for all of em! (Theyre all interconnected in a way but often spend much of their time together apart from the others bc thats how dragons be, even if these dragons are much more social than the average dragon)

Demus- Dragon Remus x Prince(ess) Janus

- Janus is ftm trans! His parents were never supportive and actively tried to hide that from that kingdom at every turn, so, he may have secretly gotten a certain mage’s help “cursing” him with snake/dragon scales & additional certain masculine attributes so that he’d be sent away and get time to live his life without royal duties breathing down his neck. Even if he’d have to live the rest of his life as a prince locked away in a tower.

-Remus is a Dragon that’s known to be very curious, driven to hoard things that intruige him. He lives in a castle he and his brother Roman overtook years ago, and they guard it and their hoards within it well. However, one day a nearby kingdom reached out to them with an offer: if they guard and protect Prince Janus while the kingdom scrambles to figure out what to do, the dragons will recieve offerings to add to their hoards along with provided meals and the means to provide for Janus. All the kingdom requests is to keep Janus safe and happy.

-and of course, they agree to. And Remus falls head over tail inlove in a matter of days. Janus follows soon after he finds that Remus is completely unbothered and supportive of Janus’s transition.

-Janus and Roman also get along super well, tho not in a romantic sense, especially after Roman learns of Janus’s love for plays and acting skills. Roman also gifts a few intricate outfits to Janus from his Hoard of beauty and passion bc they fit the short prince quite well, and because Janus wasn’t given anything to wear from his kingdom aside from tailored princess dresses(which he doesn’t usually mind the skirts portions now w/ his new body but somedays the disphoria would spike back out if he looked in the mirror while wearing one). Roman also helped cut Janus’s hair, and both dragons would growl threateningly at any kingdom official who dared look at Janus’s attire change questioningly. If anyone asked, it was because it made Janus happy and feel safe, and that was their job, was it not?

-Janus loves his new Dragon Boyfriend and his new Dragon brother-in-law(technically?) and this result just solidifies his confidence in the decision he made to get here. Roman and Remus know about the secret behind the curse and what Janus did to get here, they think he’s super fcking clever bc of it. And, Ro and Re swear on their hoards that they’ll never spill the secret if Dee doesn’t want them to, one because the Kingdom would then have a lead on trying to Reverse the Curse, and two, because it would put the life of the mage who was asked to do it in danger, and three, because their dragons and dragons are very very good at protecting what they love.

Logince- Dragon Roman x Knight Logan

-Logan is a prince to a neighboring kingdom, and he was betrothed to Janus in an arranged marraige sort of settup. Niether of them loved the other like that, but they were best friends and Logan respected(and defended) Janus being trans. So when he finds out something happened to Janus, he’s alarmed and upset that he wasn’t informed sooner. Then he finds out Janus is being guarded by dragons, of all things! And well, he needs to make sure Janus us safe, and find out whats wrong, what happened? And no one stops him from traveling out to the castle that houses the dragons to find out. The least he can do is make sure Janus is okay and respected by the dragons, but like hell is he going to wait for Janus’s scrabling kingdom to catch up.

The first thing he’s greeted by is a tall red scaled dragon, and he’s immediately on guard. The dragon grins and drops into a defense position. They don’t ask the other questions, which Janus will give both of them shit for later, but both parties are fueled by challenge and protective goals. And they launch into battle without a word.

-Roman is immediately intruiged and excited to find how Logan matches him in a fight, actually standing a pretty solid chance despite his weight and height. Logan is a skilled swords man, the best in his kingdom, its a shame his only downfall is that Roman has twice the height on him and more than twice the muscles, figuratively and literally. But even then Logan isn’t deterred and is capable of flipping the dragon onto his back which is p hot roman cant lie, so its a p even scuffle bc Romans highly entertained w/ this mysterious attacker.

-they kinda get caught up in the scuffle for a good while till Remus comes out to investigate and Logan disengages and dashes into the forest bc he’s smart enough to know he can’t really win the fight w/ one dragon, two is a death sentence.

-roman spends the whole night heated and excited as he rambles about the gorgeous short knight who nearly kicked his ass. Logan spends the whole night rethinking his strategy and trying not to get distracted by the memory of the infuriatingly hot smirk the dragon kept aiming at him.

-they scuffle twice more, filled with witty remarks and snarky quips that progressively get more flirty before they think to speak about /why/ Logan wants into the castle b4 the truth comes out.

-both are a little sheepish when Janus finds out just who Roman’s been waxing poetic about kicking his butt in an even match and spend a good 20 minutes scolding their gay af selves. Then Logan gets updated on the whole situation, including his not so subtle transition and his new dragon bf. Logan gets the dragon’s permission to visit so long as he keeps things a secret, and he scoffs that they’d think he’d even dare to try to ruin his best friends happiness.

-niether of them really knows when their little rivalry picked back up, but Roman and Logan spend their time together bickering and taunting eachother while playing a semi-unbalanced game of cat and mouse. Logan’s not allowed into the castle w/o playing their game first, and he honestly doesn’t mind. Their interactions get way more flirty and theyre just gay disasters that take way to long to admit their developing feelings till it all kinda rushes out the moment Roman pins Logan to a wall and Logan reaponds by locking his legs around the other, daring to keep him there.

-yeah they express their feelings to eachother in many ways that day. And Logan ends up secretly(to his kingdom at least) dating Roman, and Roman gets a prince bf of his own. They still taunt and play their game of cat and mouse tho, now its just accompanied by a ton more kissing.

Moxiety- Dragon Patton x Mage Virgil

-Virgil is the mage that helped Janus transition in secret, they’d been friends for a long while and meeting in secret to plan it. Virgil’s a pretty powerful mage and talented at what he does, and Janus’s trasition was a spell he cast himself, and its irreversable(on purpose, by Janus’s request/demand)

-Virgil travels alot now adays, never staying in one public place too long in fear of Janus’s knights suspecting him and capturing him. He knew the risk and was willing to pay the price to make Janus happy. He knows he must lay low for a while, and hes not very open about being a mage in fear of that being found out.

-well, one day he finds himself in a town not so open to the idea of magic in general. Its one slip up hes not sure he regrets to heal an injured child, but he finds him self tied to a wooden stake that same day, surrounded by a village chanting about how all magic is evil.

-and then a dragon swoops over and snags him from the fire as it ignites, just barely sinking his clothing before hes up in the sky. He promply blacks out from shock.

-and when he wakes up, he finds himself tucked carefully into a hammock with a soft blanket. The room he’s in is filled with an interesting assortment of things, haphazardly placed enough to register as a hoard than any other kind of room in this tower. That and the dragon that rescued him is resting nearby, his blue scaled wing outstretched and draped over Virgil protectively is kind of a dead giveaway too.

-Virgil would learn later that Patton had been following him, lead by how his hoarding instincts weirdly worked. He’d be thankful then, that they saved his life, despite the fact that he now technically counted to Patton’s instincts as part of his hoard. Patton was adamant that he’d been trying to rid himself of the attachment before, but once Virgil was in danger his insticts had been set aside to save the poor human. He couldn’t help that touching Virgil just solidified his instincts’s claim.

-Patton lets Virgil know he’s welcomed to leave any time he wants to, that they were safely away from the dangerous village now. Virgil finds he doesn’t want to leave just yet, and they settle on becoming friends.

-Patton is friends with Roman and Remus, and often visits them when he’s feeling too lonely. He’s plenty friendly with Janus and Logan at this point, being a much softer natured dragon than the twin dragons.

-the group finds it very, very coincidental and very ironic the first time Patton brings Virgil with him to hang out.

-their love story is a bit slower, but lets just say one day months down the line, Virgil pulls Patton into a really shy kiss and Patton all but startles Virgil with the happy purr that bursts from the back of his throat. Its not to much longer after that that theyre relationship is fully established.

Analogical Book Club AU

hello i have a vague idea and no motivation to do anything substantial so here have this... incoherent plot outline? bullet fic? we’ll see what it turns into-

okay. its analogical. of course it is, im me. basically, logan and virgil join a book club together. idk if it’s like... a high school/college thing, maybe they’re adults, i have no clue... but they join a book club together somehow! and maybe that’s through a mutual friend (patton? i wanna say patton) or maybe they just like somehow find it on their own orrrrrrr something, idk. but they join a book club.

and at first they are, like. strangers. maybe they’ve seen each other once or twice, or know of each other, or we can bring back the mutual acquaintance idea, but they don’t really know each other. and then they read a book and have a really awesome discussion or logan picks a book that virgil loves or virgil picks a book that logan loves or something and from there maybe they get really carried away talking about it that by the time the book club meeting is over logan’s like “okay i am free for the rest of the night, wanna continue this over coffee?” and virgil is all “oh yeah uh sure” and so they go get coffee/a drink or something together and keep discussing and afterwards logan is all “i find your company quite.... satisfactory. perhaps we can make plans to meet again sometime?” “uh, sure, yeah, um. i’d like that.” “excellent. here is my phone number.” “cool. uh, see you soon?” “see you soon. have a nice evening, virgil.” as logan/virgil/pick a pov walked away, an inexplicable smile spread across his face.

and they just. become really good friends. actually yeah i kinda wanna say this is in college... idk maybe logan helps virgil with his homework and virgil helps logan when he’s catastrophizing about a test and the other way around too, and they just. become friends outside of the book club too.

and eventually that turns into like. a very deep, talk-about-life-and-problems-and-existential-stuff relationship, because i cannot write anything without at least a liiiittle angst. and maybe logan tells virgil that for just how put together he seems, he has no idea what he’s doing with his life or if the path he’s currently on is the one that he really wants to be on. and virgil talks about, like. i actually have no idea. im usually very good at coming up with virgil angst but i am blanking. OH OKAY NEVERMIND (tw being disowned, homophobia) virgil confesses that he feels bad sometimes bc his parents kinda kicked him out when he came out and he sometimes misses them and he feels bad for that anddddd that’s a whole mess, you get the idea. so yeah, they talk about life and their dreams and their doubts and their worries and their regrets and everything and it’s nice.

and they’ll meet up a lot, too, have i established that yet? like. at first its just to talk about books. then its to talk about school. then its to talk about life. and suddenly logan is taking virgil to the park at night (and that’s his alone time, his safe place, but he finds that he doesn’t mind the company so long as it’s virgil) to stargaze and virgil falls asleep on his shoulder while listening to logan ramble about the constellations, and logan wraps the blankets he’d brought (warmth and comfort are incredibly logical) around virgil because it is spring/summer/just generally warm because i miss warmth and want it to be spring already but it’s night so it is a little chilly, and virgil just looks so peaceful and....

oh. how nice. the boy who has become one of logan’s best friends has now managed to capture his heart in a way that is no longer platonic. he’s surprised but also knows that really, he should’ve seen this coming.

hmm, okay. maybe i should actually think about the other relationships in this a bit more. so uhh... actually scrap the mutual acquaintances idea? yeah. um. okay so logan and... roman yeah we’ll go with roman... are roomates? yeah, they’re roomates. and they became pretty great friends even though logan and roman have very different views on most things. which is fine, they work, they’re wonderful friends. but also roman has several other friends because roman is a Theater Kid and an Extrovert and like its almost impossible to be an extroverted theater kid without having like. an entire Fellow Theater Kid family. so when logan meets virgil its a whole new thing because Fellow Introverted Friend!! and roman’s really happy (and a lil smug) that logan’s finally making some friends other than him. so we have a lovely platonic logince thing, yay.

meanwhile, virgil and patton are friends after patton sorta took virgil under his wing when virgil was stressed and overwhelmed and starting college. so they’re friends. but patton is also a year or two older, maybe? and, again, he is an Extrovert and he has friends and he wants virgil to make friends too! ooh so patton... pushes virgil to go to the book club? how about that? like, yknow, “cmon kiddo! you love reading, and i know its gotta be a little hard having no one to talk about your books with” (because patton Does Not Read he doesnt like it it just doesnt work for him) and so virgil acquiesces and that’s how he meets logan and the two just... click and patton is happy cause his kiddo (patton is Official Mom Figure if he adopts you into his friend group then there’s no escaping the Mother Hen Patton treatment) is making friends wouldja look at that! *proud dad noises*

m o v i n g o n, uhh... let’s summarize because i really confused myself here tbh! so uhh... patton, virgil’s friend, convinces him to go to a book club. he meets logan (who is friends/roomates with roman. neither of our left brain boys really have any other friends except ro/pat, though logan is decently chummy with his teachers. how sad for them). and so logan and virgil meet at this book club and they really enjoy and have an epic discussion together so when the meeting ends they go out for coffee/something together (like... maybe not exactly coffee but like, to a coffeeshop or cafe or something?) and talk more and greatly enjoy each other’s company so logan’s like “here’s my number” and virgil is like *smiles awkwardly because being a person is Hard* and then from there they become super close friends over the months/years/pick an amount of time, and again that stargazing scene that i mentioned earlier because someday i will write an analogical thing where they dont go stargazing together, but that day is not today (or any time in the near future, lets be realistic).

aaaaand so this is great. logan is crushing on (one of) his best friend(s) (right? is it possible to have multiple best friends? because “best” indicates superiority so shouldnt there only be one best thing? but logan loves roman and virgil both so much for different reasons, and even patton has grown on him although the man infuriates him... yeah this is probably something like what logan’s internal monologue in the scene looks like). wonderful. except he doesn’t do anything about it? he and virgil are perfectly contented with their current relationship and logan has no desire to ruin or strain that, and he doesn’t want to spring that on virgil or risk hurting him or making him feel bad for not reciprocating the feelings (logan. buddy. there is no way that the feelings arent reciprocated). so logan realizes he has a crush... yeah no it’s way more than that, logan is in loOoOoOve.... and he just puts the thought to the back of his mind and life goes on.

and uhh.... *insert some angsty situation* O H maybe we could do that old “ominous person from My Backstory makes an appearance” oooh okay you know what, let’s give logan crappy parents too. yeah okay, so his parents arent necessarily that bad, per se, but they have Very High expectations for him and a life in mind for him and logan doesnt know what he wants to do with his life and then that kinda comes boiling over where his parents are all “dont be ridiculous, youre gonna do x y and z with your life” and logan is all “but is that what i want, did you ever ask that?” “well, what do you want?” “i dont KNOW”, cue family tension plus logan having a premature midlife crisis that virgil helps him through.

(oh bonus cause im not sure where to fit this in: virgil lives with his cousin janus since his parents kicked him out and it’s pretty chill. they bicker a lot but like what did you expect)

and then also just insert the normal stuff: nightmares, cant sleep so they call each other and fall asleep to the sound of each others breathing on the other hand (because i am a sap), freaking out over school and helping each other, stargazing and stargazing like it becomes their Thing and it used to be logan’s alone thing that he’d do whenever people were too much and he just needed to breathe, but now it’s his alone with virgil thing and somehow that’s even better.

and somewhere along the way roman has caught onto logan’s crush and is pressing him about that “cmon lo whaddaya mean youre not gonna tell him you gotta tell him then you can kiss and i can say i told you so.... what do you mean you dont wanna ruin anything logan are you kidding me he likes you back he so likes you back cmon logan you cant just take this to your grave-” “watch me.” *frustrated princey noises* yeah uh you get the gist of it

(bonus, if you want- at some point patton meets janus and Oh God Help, He Is So Incredibly Gay. and that happens in the background)

i literally have no clue what im doing from here ive run out of steam but uh eventually stuff gets resolved and maybe logan figures out what he wants to do with his life or maybe he just figures out that he still doesnt quite know but that’s okay, and whatever angst that i come up with for virgil gets figured out too. and they’re just having one of their nights with the stars and logan is doing that adorable Thing he does where he rambles about the stars and his whole face just lights up because he’s happy and because Virgil Look At This Thing That I Love And Am Telling You About and virgil just kinda murmurs “oh god im in love with you” or something like that. cue extreme gay panic, both of them being Useless Gays (tm), overly sappy lines like “wait did you mean that?” “....yeah” “ive loved you for years/insert timespan *sappy smile*” and that’s lovely and we end there, with the two of them and warmth and love and the stars and some symbolism or whatever... oh and maybe we can tie it back to that whole book club meeting thing that started it all, like.... “they started off reading together, and now logan was gonna write his own story with virgil. he couldnt wait” except like. better written and phrased better because with or without the romance they wouldve written stories together because they’re friends and- ....you get the idea :)

they divorce and there’s an ugly custody battle

dee: “you aren’t responble enough to raise children!!!”

Patton moves away to a new town and they break off contact

pat enrolls his sons in a K-12 school and they do really well

dee works long hours to support his sons

he puts remus in a public school, but remus doesn’t do well in school

he gets into fights and gets expelled

dee sends him to a new school

this happens alot

dee wants to keep remus and virge in the same school, so every time remus gets expelled, he moves both of them

they never stay in the same school for more than a year

this is very stressful for dee who eventually has to move around to keep up with remus’s school-switching

this is also super hard on virgil who never learns how to make friends

dee, who is always stressed and not always there, and remus, a fuck-up who couldn’t care less, become his contants

they move to a new town before virgil’s freshman year

virge and remus go to the local highschool

remus meets roman in their classes (surprise! they have ended up in the same town patton moved to earlier!!)

they don’t reconize either other (obv they were like 3)

remus chalenges roman to a fight durring lunch

virge is like “remus no” and remus is like “remus yes”

crowd gathers and roman wants to protect his pride

they fight and it gets bloody quick

roman’s older brother, logan (:O), comes rushing in and breaks it up

he reconizes remus and virge (he got good memory or sumn)

virge is like “WTF REMUS THIS IS WHY DAD HATES YOU”

and leaves

the whole school is buzzing with gossip of new kids und log and rom

virge skips class and hides in the liberary

logan finds him after school

virge opens up a bit to lo

they go to the dention room together but!! patton is there (gasp) and virge is like “omg i can’t let him see me” and lo is like “ur tots right, i won’t say a word”

pat and boys leave and virge goes into dention room

but remus is gone????

suprise bitch he went home early- virge learns thru dee’s “wth are u!!” phone call

dee and boys have dinner, which doesn’t happen often

dee: “im so sorry we can’t have this more often” remus: “whatever ur cooking stinks” virge: *internal panic* cantlethimfindoutcantlethimfindout

back to pat- he’s not angry, roman, just disapointed. fighting=bad

everyone goes to be tired and upset except remus, bc he’s a bastard (look i love him, but he is a bastard)

next day is school day

people whisper about virge and reem in the hallways, but he indimidates them with his Insane Looks TM

logan is there and calmly reminds roman not to retaliiate

things go okay for a few weeks

virge is loney, remus is bastard, roman is trying so hard to not punch him in the face, and logan is a nerd

virge needs lo’s nerd skills to pass a test

lo teaches him at the school

ro joins one of their study sessions

at 1st he’s rude to virge but then he reliezes virge is not a bastard like remus

they become friends, an lo and virge tell ro ~The famILY Seceret~

later ro begs virge to join Drama Club

virge is like “nuuu” ro is like “pleassss” virge is like “...ok fine.”

they are doing a play version of The Parent Trap

ro and virge decied that no matter what, the show must go on

they perform and do really well, breaking both their legs (jk)

(remus throws a tomato onto the stage at the climax lol)

after the show virge finds dee an ree in the crowd

dee is super quiet and looking around (he has the program in his hand)((the program with roman’s full name)) (((which would have patton’s last name)))((((u get it))))

virge panic pt 2, but remus saves the day (whaaa) by asking to go for icecream

dee agrees and they go for sum BR

BUT! ro lo and pat had the same idea!!

they’re in the same icecream parlor!

remus stiffs a laugh

dee cooly glances over to where the pat and boys are sitting before heading over to the country to order

virge quietly follows

lo notices them and nudges ro who abruptly stops talking and looks over at dee and boys, alerting pat of their prensence

flashes of grief on pat’s face

the table is quiet before ro awkwardly picks up the conversation where he left off

dee gets a table as far away from pat &co as possible

however, he looks up once and locks eyes with patton

both tables are quiet

dee breaks the eye contact and starts talking to his boys

patton smiles sadly at his icecream

“I thing we should go home kiddos.”

at home, lo explains everything

pat nods numbly and locks himself in his bedroom

logan comforts roman

at the ice cream, dee talks to virge and remus about the play until patton leave

“so do you know them?”

virge breaks down and admits everything

remus isn’t as much as a bastrad now

dee ods calmly and they eat ice cream in silence

they next day is saturday

virge stays in his room despite remus atempts to play 

remus also locks himself in his room

dee finds logan’s cell number in virgil’s backpack and calls him

surprisingly patton picks up

they talk for a while

they agree to keep the kids in the same school

“I miss you somethimes, dee.” a pause. “Your mistake.”

dee hangs up

he looks up to where virgil’s room is and sighs.

here we go first hc of the day!!

firstly: the longest they've been little

for roman it was when he was preparing the garden wedding for his cgs! he was just full of childish excitement because he felt like a secret agent since he didnt tell anyone about it bc it was a surprise

and he just kept imagining how happy lo and pat would be and how proud they would be that he made all the decorations - so for pretty much the entire week before the wedding he was little!! he just had so much energy, he would direct that energy into making things and bouncing around and singing and dancing because if he had let himself be big the excitement actually might have spilled over into him blurting out the secret

so it was honestly a sneaky tactic to get himself to keep it secret

it was so long for him purely because he is very functional and can easily do adult tasks even when he is pretending to be a kid - like my friend duckie explained it, age dreaming is doing childrens activities and behaviours but with an adult mindset

so he could still do his chores and stuff and look after himself (though i think he would have hyperfixated on the wedding and maybe lsot track of time a lot) but it was all imbued with a sense of childish wonderment and hyperactivity

for virgil it's less of a happy scenario, at some point i am going to write this, it's honestly quite venty and completely projecting tbh

one week virgil is headed toward sensory overload but his caregivers are not aware of the signals and do not pick up on it - this culminates one day in them accidentally pushing vee's overload over the edge and he has a full blown autistic meltdown

the fic will explore the actual meltdown and how it is handled so i won't detail that here

but after such an intense and honestly traumatic experience virgil goes mute for a few days and to handle the distress of it all, his brain makes him regress and it doesn't let up for a few days

he is usually only regressed in bouts of a few hours, sometimes for a whole day but after that he usually won't need to regress for another day (the rule with him is roughly 50/50 for big/little headspace)

but this time he is completely in a baby headspace for several days and patton and logan are of course okay with that and offer him so much support and attention and love and are very careful not to overlod him again (because once you have a meltdown things do not go back to normal, you are very hypersensitive and are at risk of another one if you take on too much too fast)

but they are admittedly worried and saddened that virgil was so distressed to warrant such a long regression spell - they wouldnt have it any other way and are relieved now more than ever that virigl has such a healthy coping mechanism, they just wish he wasn't in so much pain

and virgil being around little roman

usually virgil had felt quite unsure and a little uncmfy being around roman while he is big but ro is little - it was a really really rare occurrence anyway though, it probably only happened once before because a) roman is usually omly little because he sees vee is little and b) if vee is big but sees ro little then his baby brother brain kicks in and he just wants ro to be his big brother again so he regresses

but during that week that roman was little before the secret wedding, roman actually had to let him in on the plan because he needed help with some decorations

and virgil is really awkward at first when he realises ro is little while they are sitting in his room while roman makes origami flowers and tries to show him how to do it

he feels a bit weird because he is used to roman being older than him even when theyre big - as much as virgil would never admit it, he does secretly like being the youngest side, it feels safe and comforting even when he's not regressed

but now roman is acting like a little kid and virge is definitely not regressed and he's not sure how to cope with it, his anxiety is hurtling thoughts through his mind about what if roman expects virgil to look after him? what if roman throws a tantrum? what if roman thinks virgil is boring or stupid? what if roman actually regresses and becomes a baby and hurts himself and it would be all virgils fault then everyone would blame him?? (yeah this is anxiety, none of this would actually happen)

but when roman sees that virgils hands are shaking too much to fold the origami, he puts his hands over virgils and rubs his thumbs over vee's knuckles softly and virgil sighs in relief

then roman says its ok if he cant do the origami because roman just thought of another thing that needs doing!! and he hands vee a pile of multicoloured paper and takes a sheet and rips it into strips then rips those strips into little squares

'petals for the flower boy!' he tells vee with a big smile, then wordlessly goes back to his paper lilies

and virgil tentatively picks up the papaer and starts ripping it and OH thats a rlly great sound rrrriiip rrrriiip

so virgil calms down a lot, it's a great stim to tear up paper and soon his fingers arent trembling and he feels a lot more comfortable because even when roman was little and virgil was big, roman was still looking out for him

and actually speaking to little roman isnt so different from speaking to big roman, virgil realises

they joke around a lot and are making lilies and petals for a couple of hours and feeling very relaxed

i do think this big virgil and little roman is really rare just because of how easily vee slips into his headspace but this one instance is very soft to me

Summary: Remy Sanders is a famous beauty vlogger and just moved to LA with his teenage son Virgil after their location was leaked by fans. Remy AKA CoffeeAddiction has several million subscribers. Virgil also has a secret Drama channel, where he doesn’t show his face and uses a voice modifier. He just hit a million subs and grows more everyday because of the level of production his videos have, the mystery around who he is and the fact that he ALWAYS has the latest information regarding youtube drama.

The drama took awhile to really gain steam. But once it did there was no stopping it. 

Drama channels all over the place were talking about the different theories. 

most where along the lines of Remy manipulating Virgil in some way or another.

Virgil didn’t pay the theories any attention those rumors and theories they tended to die out fast and there’d been speculation on who he was before.

but this time that didn’t happen, because fans where digging up more and more proof. It’d become a conspiracy between the beauty vloggers to hide the intern’s identity so there must be a reason for it.

People kept asking Virgil to talk about it, he ignored all requests and carried on with his life.

Until it was finally solved. And Virgil didn’t know.

But everyone at school did and when he arrived people kept giving him funny looks.

Except for his friends who’d all decided that it was absolutely stupid and ignored it.

Lunch was a mess, Virgil knew something was up. But he didn’t know what until someone flat out asked him “are you CoffeeAddiction’s sugar baby?”

Which freaked him out and he sprinted off to the bathroom. With several people in pursuit who’d overheard and saw Virgil run off at the question.

Roman, Patton and Logan found Virgil hiding in the bathroom.

“Virgil, are you ok? What’s going on kiddo?” Patton asked.

Virgil was trying to text Remy but his hands where shaking to much.

His phone fell to the ground.

“I’m coming in Virgil” Roman said opening the door.

Virgil looked up “need to text my dad. Spilled tea” he said getting his phone off the ground.

Logan took it from him “I can do it. What do you need to tell him?”

“Spilled tea, he knows what it means. Then I need to get outside so he can take me home.”

“Patton, Logan can you two make a distraction? I’ll go with Virgil,”

They agreed on a plan. Patton and Logan went first. A few minute Later Roman left with Virgil after Remy had texted he was close.

The fire alarm went off and Virgil and Roman left to get to the front of the school.

Remy was there “get in Virgil! We need to go. I’ll need to make some calls for damage control,” Remy said.

Virgil and Roman got in the car.

“so you’re-?”

“CoffeeAddiction one of the most well know beauty vloggers on youtube? Yes gurl. I’m also Virgil’s dad. You’d think people wouldn’t care so much about my son. I’ll be so pissed if we have to move again.”

“this whole time you said you didn’t watch CoffeeAddiction when you’re the intern!” Roman said to Virgil.

Remy laughed “yes gurl. It was a cover.”

“yeah, at least they don’t know where we live... yet”

“Yes, but Virgil come on. You know I don’t like James Charles, and gurl I’m not making another video about it. You can do that yourself.”

“Dad! Come on!”

Remy cackled.

Roman looked so confused.

“Sorry babe I keep forgetting you don’t know. Virgil is Storm Cloud, that’s his drama channel, and Virgil WILL be making a video debunking the whole ‘ like James Charles’ thing.”

“Dad can we just get home please?”

Roman left a few hours later.

Virgil didn’t come to school for a week, he was out sick and Logan, Patton and Roman all said the same.

At the end of the week Storm Cloud posted a video.

“It’s time to talk about CoffeeAddiction’s “intern”“

“Hey bastards, today the video will be a bit different. Everyone’s heard of what’s going on with CoffeeAddiction and his intern. And I’m here to debunk everything and tell everyone what’s really going on. I am also privy to the intern’s identity as are many other beauty youtubers who have done collaborations with CoffeeAddiction. There is no crazy conspiracy. CoffeeAddiction is not a predator or anything that people think has been happening.”

“Are you done being dramatic?”

“Dad!”

“Are you?”

“I wasn’t being dramatic. That’s your job.”

There’s a dramatic gasp. “everyone and their dead grandma knows about this.”

“Change of topic! I’m going to be talking about why CoffeeAddiction definetly had a crush on James Charles at one point in time and now refuses to talk about it because CoffeeAddiction is super gay and doesn’t want to talk about it because it’s cringey,”

Someone started laughing.

“Never mind we’re doing it on my channel.”

CoffeeAddiction posted a video titled “addressing the recent allegations and coming clean”

“ah fuck time to come out.” Virgil said.

“Hey bastards, I’m gay.”

Remy started laughing “but on a serious note, I need to address the recent allegations against me.”

“Oh fuck did they find out you have a crush on James Charles?”

“Let. It. Go.”

Virgil started laughing.

“Today everyone will learn the truth about my intern.”

Virgil stopped laughing “yeah fuckers, thanks for this mess. Really it was so fun getting chased around my school and asked if I was a sugar baby.”

Remy choked on his coffee “they WHAT? You have to tell me that stuff! Ugh now I have to make a phone call.”

“Anyway this is Virgil! My teenage very emo son. Who I have not been extorting. We came up with the intern excuse so that he could be in videos and not have people know who he was. Now stop with the conspiracies'.” Remy lectured.

“yeah they’re fucking annoying. Well I have homework and a life so byeeee,” Virgil left.

Remy sighed “so that’s it babes, a teenage son that I’ve been calling my intern. I have an agreement with other youtuber who do collabs with me not to say anything about my kid to their fans for privacy reasons. I’m not someone who uses my kid for views. Now that that’s explain I’ll see you soon babes!”

the video ends.

Virgil was able to go back to school a while later, he’d been taking online classes in the mean time. He’d also gotten together with Roman. Remy had said “it took you long enough Virgil.”

Remy also posted cute hom videos of him for the soul purpose of embarrassing Virgil.

Virgil of course refused to let that stand and made the exposé on Remy having a crush on James Charles.

This went back and fourth and fans LOVED it.

Virgil also did many of his won videos with Roman and his other friends.

The most popular one was one Remy did on his channel called “Me and my son do his boyfriend’s make up while watching horror movies”

AN: this ending was very rushed, bc I know that it’s taken so long to write this, I wanted to finish and didn’t have much motivation to do so and honestly I also forgot about it, so I hope the ending is ok.

gonna rant about sanders sides plot bc i think about it all the time and need an outlet okay here we go. this got super long so most of it is under the cut.

fyi: i talk a lot about patton and virgil and how theyre doing. i dont think i paint either of them negatively and if i did its not on purpose bc i love them both but just be aware!! also this is just my interpretations/predictions and i wanted to share but its not The Only Acceptable Interpretation and if u disagree then obviously thats fine lol

so i keep thinking about the conflict between virgil and patton. clearly something is weird. i think it probably started when virgil asked patton to stop treating him like “some innocent harmless angel” at the end of LNTAO.

i actually think this was a good interaction—virgil was trying not to hurt patton’s feelings but also was expressing something he was uncomfortable with and he succeeded in my opinion. and patton doesn’t argue, just immediately goes “okay, virgil!” like he says his name, no nickname, no kiddo. he starts trying instantly to check himself and respect virgil’s wishes.

then in embarrassing phases their interactions seem a little more...tense? i’ll list the ones that stick out bc lists are Fun:

patton fakes being scared. virgil: “don’t patronize me” patton: “you mean pantronize” virgil: “whatever!!”

patton corrects himself from saying “bat winged cherub” to “bad....boy” while virgil shoots him a look like we just talked about this

virgil’s talking about how his style is a relic from thomas’ emo phase. patton: “we’re basically style twins!! look out just a couple of cool guys comin thru!” virgil: “okay, patton” patton: “um! sorry...”

virgil seems aggravated, probably bc patton is still treating him like a poor lil anxious baby when the whole point of this episode was virgil showing that they can’t just ignore his role as anxiety. they may be friends now but virgil’s past attitude is still part of him. one could say he doesnt want them to ignore the “dark side” of his presence. wink wink. this could be him maybe building up to revealing that he used to be a dark side, subtly preparing thomas for it.

then SvS. patton and virgil don’t interact directly except at the start and during the trial, but it doesn’t seem as strained. this is probably because theyre both on the same side when it comes to deceit—and i think thats important. in svs, both patton and virgil are anti-deceit, and like patton pointed out in LNTAO, “anxiety and morality are telling you the same thing,” which seems to signal to thomas that he should listen.

also in SvS, janus alludes to the fact that virgil was a dark side and is hiding it:

“so you’ve never been reluctant to share anything with the group?”

“dont.”

“what, i just meant your name!”

“dont.”

“maybe that’s why its so easy for you to see me for what i am! like i said before, it takes a liar to know a liar.”

i’m 90% sure he didn’t just mean virgil’s name. virgil is clearly distraught about where this conversation is headed and that just doesn’t line up with him being hesitant to share his name. his fears over his dark persona and reluctance to share his name have been addressed multiple times, so what does he have to be scared of? unless janus is talking about virgil being a dark side.

moving on! in DWIT, again, theyre both kinda anti-remus. theyre both afraid of him, and as logan points out, theyre both part of why remus is so powerful as intrusive thoughts. they dont argue much; virgil spends most of this ep arguing with logan, actually, which is interesting bc he and logan seem to have one of the closest friendships in the show.

in this episode, there’s a few final pushed that i think lead virgil to confess he was a dark side.

first remus reveals his own name and says “i would never hide anything from you!” and sends virgil a little glance. virgil looks uncomfortable. then, around the 31 minute mark, logan says “you can always talk to someone...subjects who talked about their thoughts often felt better emotionally and physically.” and you can see virgil looking around like he’s realizing something.

and then he reveals himself at the end of this episode. just to thomas, but i’m assuming all the other sides would know as soon as thomas himself does, right? if they didn’t know already. what sticks out to me is that he specifically waits until the others leave. he doesn’t want to say it directly to them. and as for how this connects to the patton-virgil stuff...patton might think virgil doesn’t trust him/doesn’t want to open up to him. and/or virgil actually doesn’t want to open up to patton as much anymore.

then in healthy distractions, we clearly see that something is up between virgil and patton.

patton: “how could he feel b-a-d with his inner d-a-d?” virgil: “i can think of a few ways”

patton: “thomas made his decision and i think we should all just try to settle into it” virgil: “how are you telling me to settle into something right now when you have taken your sweet time to settle into things that you were uncomfortable with in the past”

so honestly i don’t really know what virgil’s talking about?? does he mean the events of moving on and the whole breakup situation?? or maybe he’s calling patton out for taking so long to drop the “angel baby” nicknames/treatment. or its implying that patton didnt know virgil was a dark side and is still coming to terms with it/coming to terms with the fact that virgil didn’t want to tell him & the other sides directly.

or he’s referencing something we don’t know of. either way, their relationship is obviously strained rn and it isn’t entirely clear what the turning point was between DWIT and ATHD.

then we come to the new episode. virgil doesn’t appear in POF at all, not even a cameo. i think thats the first time this has happened since accepting anxiety part 1. the only reference to him is the purple time-clock during the mario sequence and other smaller inclusions in the other video game parts. and then what happens in this episode?

patton realizes selfishness can be good sometimes. he accepts that the world, and thomas’ view of it, are not as black-and-white as he wanted to believe in svs. it wasnt a matter of “callback = bad vs wedding = good” bc thats not how the world works. beyond that, he accepts janus.

and i’m gonna bring up the idea that virgil is super mean and gets away with it. its true that the other sides, especially patton, are hesitant to correct him or reprimand him, which i think is bc theyre afraid of making him think they hate him. this idea could even be in the forefront of their minds if they really are that impacted by virgil not telling them he’s a dark side.

the thing is...virgil IS mean sometimes and he DOES get away with it. often, its just directed at janus or remus, and the other sides don’t WANT to disagree. when its directed at the other sides, i’m not sure its taken entirely to heart, regardless of whether it should be or not.

and we all know how virgil feels about janus. suspicion, anger, and aggression are all things virgil expresses towards janus from the moment he appeared as patton in CLBG.

so this all has been building up to me saying that the virgil-patton conflict has now become a virgil-patton-janus conflict. virgil and janus’ past is going to clash with patton and janus’ new alliance, which will strain the already tense relationship between virgil and patton. even worse, now roman is firmly in the anti-janus field, which will likely feed virgil’s anger, especially if he also blames patton for hurting roman.

and if we DO go to roman’s room next, and janus shows up, and the situation worsens...we might have a full blown “patton & janus vs virgil & roman” level argument on our hands.

i think virgil’s gonna be aggressive towards janus, as he has been, but when thomas and patton don’t dismiss him—when they call him by his NAME, not just “deceit”—we’re gonna get a rehash of “are you seriously siding with deceit?” except this time roman won’t be the one saying “are you seriously so closed minded to think that everything said by someone you dont like is automatically untrue?”

the other sides—or patton and thomas at the very least—are going to see that virgil’s blatant dislike of janus is not entirely warranted. and keep in mind that we still don’t know what happened between virgil and janus to make virgil hate him, so maybe it IS warranted. but its clear now that janus is trying to help (assuming he’s not lying which i rly hope he’s not lol) and i dont think its fair to thomas for virgil to want to disregard everything janus says. thomas and patton will realize this and they’ll have to confront virgil about his treatment of janus. we just haven’t gotten there yet.

its gonna be wild, honestly. i want janus to be fully accepted but it might be a while until we get there, just like patton took a while to understand the whole “grayscale morality” idea, and how its probably gonna take a while for virgil (and janus, tbh) to move on from whatever happened between them in the past.

i also believe this is headed towards a sympathetic everyone ending where theyre all important to thomas, acknowledged by him as important, and all actively working together, no dark sides or light sides, just sides. so yeah

basically, the next few episodes will probably be an explosion of all these char tensions and its probably gonna get worse before it gets better, and thats not even considering logan angst, creativitwins angst, or the orange side. but i think (and hope) it’ll all be fine and im hyped to see where this series goes :p

Okay, I had a great idea for some Remy angst!!

Abuse TW ahead!!

Remy feels lonely. Yeah, he has friends that care a lot about him (the sides and Emile), but he feels unloved in a romantic sense. Logan and Remus are dating along with Patton and Janus. Roman is aromantic and Emile aroromatic and acesexual, so they’re out of the dating game. Virgil doesn’t even want a boyfriend! Even if they were all single, he didn’t feel anything but friendship towards them.

One day, while at a cafe, he’s introduced to this guy.... let’s call him Mike (sorry to all you mikes, it’s nothing against you). Mike seems like a nice person at first, and asks Remy out. Remy accepts And the date goes perfect! The food was great, Mike was fun to talk too, and Remy think they hit it off. Mike, asks Remy our again and again. Eventually, Mike asks Remy to move in with him and he says yes.

This is where things get againsty! (And abusive)

Mike starts to diminish Remy. He starts with telling him how annoying it is to call people ‘babe’ and ‘honey’. Remy starts to believe it and slowly stops with the pet names, and only uses them for Mike. His friends get suspicious and question him about it. Remy just laughs it off and changes the subject every time.

After Mike had stomped out the pet names, he attacks the way Remy dresses. Remy used to not wear sunglasses but Mike convinced him his eyes were ugly so he gave him sunglasses to cover them up. Remy takes them and starts to wear them outside. Eventually, after Mike argues with him about it and he becomes self conscious, he wears them inside buildings too. Of course, sunglasses go good with leather jackets and fancy stuff like that, so he has to wear those things to match the new look. His friends notice, but don’t say anything.

Mike also tells him he drinks too much coffee. Remy tries to argue about this one. Mike threatens to leave Remy and he panics. Remy finally feels loved, even though it comes at a high price (bc even tho Mike does stuff like this, he still cuddles him and stuff and that’s all Remy ever wanted). Remy gives up and stops drinking coffee. This alarms everyone, especially Virgil and Emile who’ve know him his whole life and knows he can barely function without it. When they question him, he just says something like ‘it was bad for me anyway’ and changed the subject. Kinda like the pet names.

Remy then starts to notice that Mike doesn’t like his friends. He drops subtle hints at first, saying stuff like, ‘Roman’s so dramatic, why are you friends with him?’, ‘Logan’s such a know-it-all!’, and, ‘Remus is so annoying!’ and much more. Remy just nods and agrees, and eventually cuts them out of his life without telling them (there wasn���t even a goodbye!).

Cue painc. His friends (especially Janus and Logan) never really trusted Mike but Remy looked so happy, they couldn’t say anything. After he just stoped talking though, they all came up and demanded to know what’s been going on. Remy gets angry at them and pushes them away more.

How will Remy get out of this relationship? I don’t know, I haven’t gotten that far. But it’s there and involves Emile somehow!

(Keep in mind that if I do write this, it’ll be later when I knock out a chapter fic I already have going so it’ll be a hot minute)

good morning have these ideas i started writing out in my drafts a couple of months ago and then never posted lol (everything under this is the original post) (also apologies to the remus and janus stans, they dont make any appearances😔):

Story/animatic ideas that i’m never going to make (probably) Welp at least i’ll have them written for reference

1. Since it’s playing right now, I’m start with the story/animatic based off of ‘A Wistful Waltz’ by Teddy Hyde (The idea originally came from ‘Sex with a Ghost’ also by Teddy Hyde but shh) Logince Royalty AU lets gO. I’ve thought about this before, and it’s actually surprisingly fluffy considering that if their love for each other got found out there’d be a bit of a problem hm.

So basically Roman is royalty��� and logan is something along the lines of his advisor/servant. And they’re in lOvE. This thing is more centric around their relationship then an actual plot (Also bc most of these ideas came to me in the form of something to be presented as an animatic) Typically their dates take place in Roman’s room at night and they stargaze. Yup. Thats it lol.

2. ‘Strawberry Blond’ by Mitski. This is one is honestly super cute and wholesome too. Hm, there are also alot of relationships in this one ehh,,

I’ll just say them anyway: We’ve got past romantic patton x someone random, who i’ll call Y, platonic moxiety, logince, familial analogical and familial royality. That actually wasn’t as bad as i’d expected lol. (Just as a quick note, one of the central locations is a flower field in a more rural area. I’ll add a reference at some point. But i’ll try to describe it to the best of my ability ig. Basically there’s a road, and the field is on the left. There are alot of wild flowers there, and there is a tree closer to the road.)

K, story. So basically Roman is Patton & Y’s adopted son, and they go to the flower field every so often to just,, hang. Roman and Pat would make flower crowns, while Y watched under the shade of the tree. It was cute. Anyway Y kinda just disappears (divorce or death its up to yall) bc he was not really even relevant to begin with i just needed someone for the first verse of the song oops. MoVinG oN, uh time goes by Pat and Ro still go to the flower field alot. 

Cut to Roman meeting Logan. Roman likes Logan, they become really good friend, and then both get crushes on one another. So now it’s Roman’s birthday and since they go to the flower field every year, roman begs patton to let logan come this time around. pattons like ‘sure haha i’ll just have to ask his parents’ and so obviously virgil is logan’s dad and virgil’s cool with it as long as he can come too. 

i’m getting lazy so the rest of it is just wholesome shenanagins lol. logan and roman get married, virgil and patton become really close friends and uhhh yeah

Random idea that im gonna ramble on abt bc I'm bored and just wanna write something

Warnings: Remus, romantic Intuality single dad au

Human Single Father au but. It's Remus. Hes the Single Father. Virgil is his youngest child who developed an anxiety disorder young. His mother is out of the picture pretty early on which doesn't help things, but Remus handles raising him on his own like a champ. He never faltered in taking up the other side of parenting and keeping his stable well-paying job and home.

Ideas in this idea/au/whatever it is: Remus and Virgil are pretty seperated from most of Remus's family because most of them believed Remus was never going to be a good father, and that he shouldve put Virgil up for adoption the moment he was born, especially after Virgil's mom signed over full custody and dipped. The only one in their family who differs from the belief is Roman, his twin brother.

Remus has time and time again proven their family wrong, by holding a stable job for years, home, and getting Virgil counseling and providing for his son with everything Virgil could ever want(while still teaching him to be humble).

People meet Remus and get surprised to hear that he's a single Dad, then talk behind his back because they worry hes raising a crazy child reflecting himself. And then get double surprised when they're introduced to shy, polite Virgil by a softer spoken and doting Remus. Even some of Romans friends doubt him at first, but Romans fiercely protective of Remus and Virgil and shut that down real quick.

At some point Remus decides hes going to adopt a kid, its a little reckless but he gets his things in order and ends up fostering and then adopting Logan, a teenager whos so so so smart but has never ever gotten the chance to shine. Logan is immune to Remus's oddities in a way that make connecting both hard and easy. In a way they are vastly different kinds of people, but in another, they are both very very similar. Remus picks up on Logans different way of communication, and isnt shy about letting Logan set his own boundries. Virgil gets p attached to Logan, and vice versa. And their weird family works.

Roman knows Remus is kind of. Avoiding romance all together after Virgil's mom left. For good reason. And he gets it, but its sometime after Logan's legally adopted as Remus's, then Roman brings it up. He suggests that hes open to help if Remus ever does want to take up dating again, and Remus shyly admits two weeks later that he thinks hes ready.

So.. In comes Patton, who is a single dad himself. Hes got 1 son named Dimitri, who's become selectively-mute to the world around him.

Tbh they dont hit it off pretty well at first. Its a little rocky, and tbh Remus thinks he blew it after the first date, its one of those standard dinner dates and it requires Remus to sit still,which was hard. Hes never had a great brain filter and Patton seemed pretty overwhelmed, but.. Then Patton calls, and asks to try again. They try something different, one of those pottery dates, and they both thrive. Remus loosens up, having something to do with his hands keeps him calm and they can talk and interact and be themselves and get a little messy. The third 'date' involves leaving their kids to hang out and watch movies in Remus's livingroom while the two parents cook dinner and bake some treats. The kitchen is a mess but there's so much laughter. Remus is smitten with Pattons love for puns and loving personality, and Patton loves Remus's passion and dedication.

It takes a while but Dimitri, Lo, and Virgil start to get comfortable w/ each other. Logan and Virgil learn how to talk to Dimitri through sign language, Dimitri listens to Logan ramble on and on about space, Virgil and Dimitri bond over costume making and creepy things, Dimitri teaches them both alot about his pet snakes. At some point Dimitri deems Logan, Virgil, and eventually even Remus, people he can talk around. He has a lisp, and Virgil ends up hugging him the first time he talks around them bc Dimitri is so nervous. Patton silently cries in joy bc Dimitri had only ever talked around him before and its /progress/.

Eventually they are officially a couple, then, a while down the line, they get married. And their weird family thrives.

Roman probably gets baby fever ever so often and his bf Remy finds it adorable.(They may end up adopting a pair of twins named Thomas and Emile when theyre finally ready to settle down)

(if we’re being honest,,, none of the other sides really Vibe with ambition!roman (with the possible exception of janus, but that’s less Vibing and more ‘i love u and you are being Very Dumb but will stick by you anyway because first of all u need someone in your corner and second of all I Love You Literally So Much’ so idk how much that counts). roman becoming ambition!roman was almost entirely for thomas. the extra appreciation he got at the beginning before it got really intense was just the cherry on top. but! you asked about virgil, so let’s talk about him.)

virgil’s not ambitious. whatever the opposite of ambitious is, that’s what he is. 

he doesn’t like taking risks. he has no desire to get ahead. as long as he makes it through the day with out a major mental breakdown, he counts it as a win. success, to him, is synonymous with survival.

needless to say, he doesn’t really... get roman. 

ambition, no matter what each individual’s may be, is about personal happiness.

so in the beginning? like everyone else, he doesn’t really mind ambition!roman either. he never minded the ambitious side of roman before, and ambition!roman in the beginning wasn’t noticeably different from roman roman at all. and virgil liked didn’t hate roman roman, so there wasn’t any reason for him to behave differently

besides, c!thomas was happier, felt safer, was in a better place both career-wise and financially, all the friends that didn’t bring c!thomas enough happiness were out of his life now, virgil himself had less work to do—

Okay some thoughts of my own on the new episode (might me jumbled bc I am still vibrating with excitement but here we go).

So, while I absolutely agree that Roman was cruel to Janus and he shouldn't have laughed at his name I think Janus understands. Like his face in the next shot was hurt and he basically said that between Roman and Remus he isn't sure who the evil twin is. But BUT. If someone understands lying to cope with your own hurt is sometimes necessary, it's Deceit. Like, it's obvious Roman didn't mean it. I mean laughing at Janus' name? And then saying it's stupid? It was obviously meant to hurt Deceit, not be said bc he actually means it(not that I agree that it wasn't cruel).

Also, let's examine what Janus said a bit more closely. "Oh Roman, thank God you don't have a mustache. Otherwise between you and Remus...I wouldn't know who the evil twin is." This whole episode was about how things and people aren't completely black or white, good or evil. Which means the twins aren't EITHER. There is no good and evil twin. Deceit knows that and he threw that in Roman's face. And Roman, who tried SO HARD all this time to be good, to be light, now has to face the fact that maybe, both he and his brother and actually different shades of grey. And that's painful and heartbreaking. Of course his immediately reaction is to leave. He doesn't know how to handle the fact that nothing is black and white anymore.

Now, onto Patton. Oh my god. I am SO proud of him and his character development in this episode! He was wrong at first yes, but in the end he accepts that Janus was right and he even lets him take care of Thomas on his own before he sinks out! Patton, who tries so hard to be in control of Thomas moral compass ALL the time! I am so happy because of this, honestly.

I am worried about Logan and Virgil thought. Nobody even noticed Deceit was pretending to be Logan? Logan didn't even physically appear in this episode? NOT A GOOD SIGN. He probably feels very left out and he didn't even want to hear Patton's apology. My heart hurts for our logical boy.

And Virgil. Gosh, I don't even know where to start? Virgil, who always protected Thomas, especially from Deceit didn't even show up in this episode? Is it because he is too scared to face Thomas? Or did he and Deceit talk before this? I mean I'd love an episode where Virgil and Janus become friends again(and Remus joins the light sides as well, but that'll probably take a bit longer). Also Virgil talking to Roman would probably not be a bad idea. Since Virgil knew Janus as both a friend and a foe and hopefully will come to see him as a friend once again, he could help Roman through that transition.

Anyway, I still have some things to say but this already super long so I'll leave the rest for some other post

Daffodils

So I wrote this outline forever ago and I never got around to actually writing the story or anything, but I still like it, so I thought I would share it with you guys! Hope you enjoy!

Pairings: Prinxiety, background Demus and Logicality

Warnings: None that I can think of, but please let me know if there is any!

Based off three songs from the musical Big Fish: Time stops, Closer to her, and Daffodils

So, Roman’s a freshman in college, right? And he’s always dreamed of this epic romance, wait let me just write the summary real quick:

Roman Bloom has always dreamed he’d get this epic college romance, so when he sees a boy that makes him feel like time has stopped, he’s determined to see the other boy again. The problem is, he hasn’t seen the boy in over a week. With only the knowledge of what the boy looks like and who he was with to go off of, Roman has his work cut out for him.

So, Roman’s in college and he’s rooming with Remus

He had agreed not only because he knew he could handle his brother’s chaos, but because he knew the familiarity would be something they both would need in their first year.

One day, when he’s walking to class with Patton, a boy he met in his orientation group, he sees Virgil on the other side of the sidewalk with Dee

And time stops

He’s immediately enamored with the other boy, and wants to get to know him

When Virgil sees him, he stumbles a bit, his cheeks pink

Roman starts to change his path to talk to him, and it looks like V is doing the same.

Except Dee puts his hand on Virgil’s shoulder, confused, and Patton says they’re going to be late for class, breaking Roman out of his trance

They share one last glance, and go their separate ways, though Roman is determined to see the other boy again.

Except

Roman takes that same path to class every day, and every few days he passes Dee, but doesn’t see Virgil

He bemoans this fact to Patton and Patton’s boyfriend Logan (They were friends in high school, and they started dating after they graduated) when Remus walks back into their room

After he hears Ro describe Dee, he goes, “That sounds like a guy in my English class! He has a nice butt!” and Roman immediately wants to meet him

When they meet, Ro wants to be subtle about asking about Virgil, but he gets nervous and struggles to speak

So, Remus, who introduced the two, says, “He wants to know about your brother!”

Dee is immediately suspicious, and is like, “Why are you asking about my brother?”

Roman doesn’t want to explain how time stopped when he saw V, and as he’s trying to find something to say, Dee takes a second to look closer

He studies Roman for a moment, then says, “You were the boy that we saw on the first day of class. The one with the boy with glasses.”

It’s not a question

Roman just nods, and finally finding his voice says, “I just want to meet him. Or know about him! Please.”

Dee looks at him, thinking, as says, “Okay.” Before Roman can get too excited, he adds, “Once a week, I’ll tell you something about him. It may be true, it may not. If,”

Here he glares at Roman

“you prove that you’re not some creep.”

“Anything!” Roman says. “He just…” Roman takes a breath and goes for it, “He made me feel like time was frozen. I don’t know why, but he did.”

Dee looks surprised for a moment, his eyebrows meeting his hairline, before he goes back to an indifferent mask.

“You’re in that theater 101 class for majors, right? With Professor Peterson?” He suddenly asks.

Roman nods, confused.

“Help me get through that class, and you’ve got a deal.” Dee says, holding out a hand

“I’m not going to let you cheat.” Roman blurts out, then immediately kicks himself, bc what if that was his only chance??

Dee just laughs once, before smirking. “Of course not, I meant help me with the written stuff by helping me study. Though I appreciate your integrity”

“I don’t,” mutters Remus, who looks slightly put out by his brother’s morals.

Dee laughs again, longer, and Remus looks less put out.

Roman takes Dee’s hand, and they have an arrangement.

Twice a week, Roman and Dee meet up to study, bc they have different class periods but the same class. (one’s for majors [Roman] one’s a block one [Dee])

Dee had seen Roman leaving the classroom once and was going to ask for his help anyway. This just gave Roman incentive

During one of their biweekly meetings, Dee shares a fun fact about his brother.

Stuff like his favorite color (purple), he was a dancer when he was younger, his major (English and history double major), what he likes to do on the weekend (scroll social media and watch movies)

Also during those meetings, Roman chips a bit more away at Dee’s walls, learning about him as well, becoming his friend (during one meeting he finds out Dee’s favorite color is yellow, and makes a joke about how he and his brother like complementary colors, like Roman and Remus do. Dee stares for a moment, and Roman is slightly worried he said something wrong, before Dee quietly says, “Remus’s favorite color is green?” and Suddenly Roman has learned another thing about Dee)

Eventually the meetings turn from study meetings to just hanging out, to being more than twice a week, though Dee still shares something about his brother once a week.

One day, Remus asks his brother if he and Dee are dating, and Roman is confused. “We’re just friends??” he says. Remus nods, still looking slightly… put out and sad, Roman decides. “I know, but you two hang out a lot. What if he likes you? Do you like him? Does he think I’m annoying?” and Roman understands what his brother is actually trying to find out.

Roman is now simultaneously trying to learn more about Dee’s brother, while also getting Dee and Remus together.

The problem is, Remus and Dee are both oblivious and pining, and Dee is still only giving one thing a week.

He hasn’t even learned his brother’s name! Or why he hasn’t seen him on campus!

Finally, after three months, he asks Dee why he hasn’t told Roman his brother’s name yet.

Dee starts, looking up from the math textbook in front of him. “Secrets are important. They keep people guessing and help society run. Everybody has one.” When Roman doesn’t respond, he looks a little guilty. “I also didn’t want our hang outs to end. If you know my brother’s name, you can find him, and you don’t need to hang out with me anymore.”

Roman blinks in surprise, before softening, setting his hand on Dee’s shoulder.

“Dee,” he says, squeezing the other’s shoulder, “we’re friends. Even if I knew your brother’s name, I’d still want to hang out with you. Knowing your brother won’t change that, ok?”

Dee just nods, and Roman goes back to work.

The next day, Roman is leaving his English class, talking to Patton, when Dee walks up.

“His name is Virgil. He’s going to the college two towns over.”

Roman lights up, beyond excited.

He gives Dee a big hug, saying thank you over and over again, and the he moves to go get to his car. It’s his last class for the week and he wants to see Virgil as soon as he can.

But he hesitates

“Will he like me?” he asks the other two, and while Patton coos and says “of course!” Dee just studies him again, like he did on the day they met.

“He will.” Dee finally says. “If you’re yourself. Don’t go over the top or be fake. He’ll be able to tell.”

What he doesn’t say, is that Virgil had talked about the boy he had seen the day he visited Dee for weeks after it happened. He doesn’t say that Virgil had given the same description of “Time stopped, Dee. I don’t know why, but I want to see him again. I wasn’t scared, Dee, when I looked at him, but I’m too scared to go back to see him.” He doesn’t say that Virgil had been holding himself back from visiting Dee in person, and although he had heard about Roman and had learned things about him, he hadn’t connected it to the boy that he was still thinking about.

Roman grins, heart light. “Thank you, Dee. Honestly, thank you.”

He turns to go but stops again.

“Also, ask my brother out on a date. He’s been pining after you forever, and if I have to hear about your butt when I’m trying to study one more time I’m going to riot.”

And he goes, leaving a cackling Patton and a red-faced Dee behind him.

He passes his brother on the way to his car and says, “I know his name!” Remus cheers, excited for his brother. “I also told Dee you liked him! Go ask him out before he asks you out!” “YOU WHAT” but Roman is already in his car.

When he gets to the other college’s campus, he’s received a few texts.

One from Patton that’s just an encouragement and request to bring Virgil back for movie night, one from Logan that says, “Dee and Remus have both declared they hate you, though they have agreed to go on a date tomorrow.” One from Remus that’s just several middle finger emojis and one green heart

And one from Dee that just says, “Thanks.” Followed by another that says, “He should be getting out of his history class now, it’s in the Lincoln building”

Roman sends back a thumbs up emoji to Patton and Logan, a red heart and winking face to Remus, and “Thanks” to Dee before he’s off

He asks a girl for directions and makes it to the Lincoln building as a stream of students come walking out.

As he’s looking for Virgil in the crowd, he takes a step back and bumps into someone, making him stumble and the other person fall.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” he exclaims, turning to help the other person up, but he freezes.

It’s Virgil, purple hair slightly faded at the roots and slightly annoyed at being knocked over, but it’s him.

Virgil glances up at him, mouth open to reply, but he freezes too.

They stare at each other moment, before Virgil reaches a shaky hand up to the one Roman’s offered.

Roman pulls Virgil to his feet and doesn’t let go of his hand.

“Are you…?” Virgil asks, and Roman wants to swoon at his voice.

He grins, and, squeezing Virgil’s hand says, “I am.”

Cut to Virgil’s point of view from all those months ago

He had been visiting Dee on the first day of Dee’s school, bc his had started a week earlier and Dee had visited him.

They had been walking to one of Dee’s class, just talking, when Virgil had felt eyes on him

He had turned and seen a boy so pretty he had tripped a bit.

Time seemed to stop as he looked at the other boy, and though Virgil was cautious and anxious by nature, he hadn’t felt scared in that moment

He had changed course to talk to the boy, but was stopped by Dee, who asked what he was doing.

They had gone on their way, and Virgil couldn’t stop thinking about the other boy.

Months had passed, and the boy still plagued Virgil’s thoughts, though he was more preoccupied with Dee’s pining over one of his friend’s brother.

And now here he was, holding Virgil’s hand and talking to him—oh gosh he was talking right now

Cut back to Roman, who had been saying that he had seen Virgil and time had stopped—Virgil had squeaked at that—and that he had learned one thing about him every week from Dee.

“Wait, you’re Roman, the friend whose brother Dee’s been crushing on? Oh my gosh, Dee won’t shut up about him, if I have to hear about his butt one more time—”

Roman starts laughing, and, after a moment of basking in Roman’s joyous laughter, Virgil joins in

After their laughter dies down, Virgil and Roman simultaneously become aware of the fact that they’re still holding hands.

They pull apart, cheeks flushing, but Virgil takes hold of the courage he felt when he had first seen Roman by the throat and asks, “Hey, I’m done with classes for the day. Do you want to grab coffee or something? Get to know each other outside of what Dee has said?”

Roman grins brightly, and Virgil feels his heart start pounding as if he was running a marathon.

“I’d like that, yeah.” Roman says softly, and if Virgil wasn’t already half convinced to date him, that soft tone mixed with the bright, happy, smile would have convinced him.

They go and get coffee and talk for hours, and then Roman asks if he wants to come back with him for movie night, see Dee and the others, and, “Maybe, if you’re up for it, go see a movie or something tomorrow? Like a date, if you want?”

And Virgil looks at this boy, that had gone through hoops to meet him, sees the uncertainty and hope in his face, and thinks about how this boy had made him feel on that day, so many months ago. He hadn’t felt scared then, and he doesn’t feel scared now.

“I’d like that, yeah.” He reaches across the table and grabs Roman’s hand, grinning. “Let’s go see a movie, Roman Bloom.”

About that Carry On Prinxiety AU

For now I laid out a bit of the plot, if you want to share some ideas just hit me up~

This is going to be a LOT to take on my shoulders but I will try and probably fail BUT TRYING IS KEYWORD (i really do believe in myself don't I? Everything under the cut!)

Since they all have their peculiarities, I'm gonna say that yes Virgil might be the Baz and Roman could be the Simon of this story, but I think either would fit for different reasons so they just have the same energy and will keep their own characterization. (If I'm able to not go ooc on this one wish me luck)

If I'm creative enough I'll try making an American school that is located in Florida, so that the characters know nothing much about what's happening in Watford and I can still make references without chronological contradictions.

Thomas could probably be the head mage too. I'm imagining him being very interested in the Normal culture and dressing like a Normal adult instead of the head of a great magical school, his "obsession" (kind of like Arthur Weasley's, if you will) is not really well-liked by most of the mages (especially the Old Fams), some believe that the students should have a better example instead of a man that always seems on the verge of leaving the magic world behind. The students, on the other hand, love him very much thank you. (yes even the ones whose parents insult him)

Oh my god I just had an epiphany: imagine Thomas obviously being in love with Disney and maybe Roman is very close to him so like he's talking about Virgil and Thomas just STRAIGHT UP STARTS SINGING SMTH LIKE THE MUSES' PARTS IN WON'T SAY IM IN LOVE OR LIKE THAT LION KING ONE AAAAAAAA and Roman is like ssss t o p but in the end joins in because he's w e a k (same)

Anyway for the main bois what I was thinking was that, with the prophecies about the Chosen One being there for a long time and them not knowing about Simon or anything, (this is becoming like Skam, there are many Snowbaz in the world) they just so happen to find in Roman an extraordinary amount of magic

Everybody is convinced Roman might be the Greatest Mage, the info flies out into the magical world of America but they decide to not share the info with other states. Roman gets very excited about this and works hard and trains himself in preparation for the big moment where he was going to have his big fight.

Virgil is his roommate (oh my god they were roommates), and of course, they can't stand each other at all. Virgil is definitely fed up with this story about the Chosen One, which Roman brings out in any possible conversation, so he uses it against him to tease him. Just imagine Roman bragging about something and Virgil being like "yeah but for a Greatest Mage you still haven't done anything so Great", or like Roman is having trouble with a spell or a subject? "Aren't you the chosen one?", Virgil only brings it up to make him mad and loves his flustered face. (keyword "loves" *wink*)

As much as I'm hopelessly in love with the idea of Vamp!Virgil (which would fit if he had Baz's role), I just had an angsty idea so I'm saving it for later c:

Hey how about a half-elf Virgil??? Anyone? Sorry I love elves

As for the time they spend together, they do the same thing as Simon and Baz, they avoid each other, spend time out of their room if the other's in there, make up different routines so they don't have to share anything and only really stay in the same room if they have to sleep. (idk why i said "if" like they don't need sleep)

Let me remind you that the beds are very close.

One time Roman woke up in the middle of the night and screamed in fear upon seeing a figure on the window.

It was just Virgil and he almost fell out, he would have probably smacked his head if it wasn't for the roommates' anathema or whatever it is called in english.

Virgil said he just couldn't sleep but he will never admit it was because of a pretty violent nightmare.

Roman does really think that he doesn't sleep at all and just uses his magic to stay awake judging by the dark circles under his eyes.

idk about you but I like the idea of Logan being something similar to Penelope, so Logan is Roman's best friend, they had met in the first year and Logan seemed one of the only ones who didn't approach Roman only because of his fame about being the Chosen One. Logan is simply amazing and brilliant at all subjects and surprises everyone since he's said to come from a family with weak powers.

Roman finds in him a very valid studying companion and he has to admit a lot of his best spells come from practicing/learning them from Logan. Also Logan loves explaining the stuff he's learnt, while Roman has this insatiable will to know everything to be able to defeat whatever bad guy will present in front of him. They basically become inseparable, despite having some friendly fights that are always solved with a snack break.

They !! deeply !! care !! for !! each other !!

Out of the other characters idk if Patton would fit anybody entirely, but I'm going to keep the 3v3 groups, so Pat will most likely be hanging out with Roman and Logan, he's actually very good friends with Virgil (none can escape Patton's friendliness) and tries to reason with Roman when he's mad about something Virge might have said. He's probably the reason why he hasn't killed Virgil yet. Patton doesn't come from a big family and lives with his grandmother when he's out of school. (I still have to develop this)

Forget about Dev and Niall and get ready for Deceit and Remus. I don't wanna give a headcanon name to Deceit bc I don't have one so he's gonna be a mysterious boy and everyone will call him Dee since it's the nickname I use for him. Both of them are two chaotic messes in their own ways. Dee, despite still being composed most of the times, is VERY fixated on his society discourses and arguments, he could come up to you one day out of the blue being like "so about the plan to overthrow the government" and you probably never even heard of it in the first place

JUST GIVE ME PASSIONATE DECEIT

Remus, on the other hand, messes a LOT with spells and you can see him traveling to the weirdest places. One day he was found trying to make the water creatures do a circus bit for him. People don't know how he's able to make his way through tests, but it's actually because he loves bugging Dee since he doesn't give the slightest shit about the weird things he suggests and they often end up studying together.

(I had the wildest thought thinking about Remus as Trixie)

Virgil, Deceit and Remus are what people call the "Untouchable trio", only because they come from the highest and oldest of the Old Families. They had been friends ever since kids since their Families met quite often, they never really fell apart despite being very different from one another. They're actually pretty chill people, it is only their surnames that make some people wary of them. They're not generally approached by anyone.

Idk if I wanna bring Emile and Remy in this, but I am tempted™, I'll think about it

So, Roman, am I right? Forgot to say he comes from a pretty big fam of hunters, they're the types of people that are lovable but won't hesitate to kill a bitch if needed.

But Purp, where's our creativitwins content? Thing is, yes they're actually brothers, but they were separated ever since kids for reasons none really knows? They never talk about it, even if asked to. They were given to two different families. They're aware of each other, but none has ever seen them interact. (I might find some angsty backstory on this just you wait)

Up until here Roman has always believed himself to be destined to the greater good, he's the chosen one, his destiny is the one to be the protagonist of the magic world and its hero.

At least that's what he thought until the fifth year.

One day during the fifth year, Virgil was doing homework on his room's table when Roman bursts in, louder than usual, and throws himself face-first on the bed, uncaring about ruining his hair or his clothes. That was an unusual sight since he never came into the room before evening or even before dinner. Virgil immediately knew something was wrong, but he didn't realize how serious the thing was.

So of course, he teases him a bit trying to get some info from him but only makes the situation worse. When Virgil calls him Greatest Mage as a joke, that's when Roman finally snaps at him in a way that Virge would have never expected. Roman really is enraged, yells at him and throws his pillow across the room since he can't hit him. He storms out of the room when he feels tears forming in his eyes, but can't really hide his sobbing as he goes away.

Virgil is just standing there, aware that he had just made Roman cry for the first time in his life and hated the sight with his whole being.

Roman had just learnt that he wasn't, in fact, the Chosen One, nor the Greatest Mage. Just an ordinary mage, like anybody else, who, in his opinion, had no other destiny than to finish school, find a job and just ... live?

So he's destroyed, all those dreams revealed themselves to be castles built in the air.

School is ending and Roman is just a bit numb, he's not really failing his classes but he's not as bright as ever. He barely leaves his room and doesn't talk to his friends as often, who are very concerned. Even Virgil tries to talk to him at some point. Thomas visits him when he has time and tries to work through the issue with him, but for the rest of the fifth year, there's nothing much to do to cheer him up.

Things seem to go back to normal as years pass and he's not in the spotlight anymore, none really talks about the Greatest Mage anymore and mages just carry on with their studies as they've always done. Everything's fine and normal.

And Roman hates it. But he's working in the shadow, so none notices his discomfort.

It only happens when he reaches the eighth year. It's impossible for Virgil to not recognize that Roman is slipping away at night and only comes back after some hours, either with dirty clothes or things tangled in his hair, he always came back different from when he left, meaning he definitely was wandering off outside.

One night he really can't stop thinking about how worried he is that Roman might get in trouble by himself, while he could probably prevent that, so he decides to follow him. Apparently, Roman is trying to find some kind of important and scary adventure to prove to himself that he's not as useless as he thinks himself to be, but Virgil still doesn't know this.

Virgil doesn't know what to do about the situation and decides to talk to Patton about it, in the end, the two of them decide to make a plan to talk to Roman with Logan, too.

On the other hand, Roman had been seen hanging out with Deceit or Remus, or both at the same time, trying to pry out information from them about how to get to certain forbidden spots of the school if he ever needed to. Surprisingly they don't ask many questions.

Chaos ensues when one night everything goes horribly wrong.

SO YEAH these are a bunch of things that I got right off the bat, I still have to think about the entire plot but don't want to spoil anything, basically the story would begin on the eighth year, just like Carry On, when Roman starts sneaking out. There might be things I need to fix but still I repeat that this is just a draft or a bunch of ideas that I got together somehow.

Sanders Behavioral Health, Chapter 3: Patton Will Help!

my friends are lovingly cyberbullying me into tagging the man himself so uh @thatsthat24 and ope there goes my anxiety, rising up into the heavens. If you do see this I recommend reading from chapter one but im not gonna tag again unless my friends tell me to bc i dont wanna be a bother :|

Three hours.

Three hours until school ended for the day and Patton would go home for 5 minutes before heading to Sanders’.

Until then, he had to brave the school day. Patton was okay at school, but had a nasty habit of not saying no to any request, and his time between classes was spent doing favors for others. His time for lunch was limited, and his weekends were booked full. It took a toll on Patton, but he’d do anything to make others happy!

After all, others’ happiness was more important than his own.

His therapist had disagreed, which is why he was transferred to Sanders Behavioral Health. And at Sanders they said the same. Why couldn’t they understand that Patton wasn’t worthy of being happy? He didn’t do as much as he could, as much as he should , and he was a bad person.

Like that one time he had noticed a kid sitting in the seat beside him, his name was Todd, looking at his paper during a test. Patton had glanced at the teacher before nudging his paper closer to Todd, and filling out the rest. Once he noticed Todd had finished, he turned it in.

But he had gotten some of the answers wrong . Todd had been counting on him but Patton failed him, and now Todd was grounded for getting a mediocre grade.

And it was all Patton’s fault.

He tried to apologize to Todd, but had been shrugged off, Todd saying, “Eh, you don’t need to man. It was my fault for not studying.”

Todd must hate him.

The bell rang, signalling him to rush to his next class. Well, “class”. It was time for lunch.

Patton grabbed his items as quickly as he could, shoving them into his backpack. He felt guilty for zoning out in class, but the teacher was already on her computer and he didn’t want to disturb her. Once he had stuffed today’s worksheet into his bag, he slipped out, last to leave the room.

Patton held the lunch tray in his hands, looking for a place to sit. No one had asked for his lunch time yet, so he expected someone to call out to him, which was what usually happened these periods.

What he wasn’t expecting was to be cornered.

The edge of a table pierced his back as he was suddenly faced with none other than President of the Student Council (and Tennis Team), Vanessa E. Cordill. He had stumbled back, and quickly shoved his tray on the table behind him, knowing how close Vanessa liked to get to people.

“Hey, Pat! I was wondering if you could help us with preparations this weekend for next week’s volleyball game?” She batted her eyelashes at him, stepping impossibly closer.

“I-uh, I’m really sorry Vanessa, but I’m all booked this weekend.”

“Surely you could make time for me, yeah? Aren’t I your favorite?” Vanessa said sweetly. His favorite? He didn’t have a favorite, that would be unfair to the others! Patton, of course, wouldn’t say that to her, lest he hurt her feelings.

“I’m sorry, I really don’t have time! I’m doing a lot of things this weekend and don’t have any room. I barely have time to sleep and-” he was cut off as Vanessa drew a finger down his chest. “W-what are you doing?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” She purred, winking at him. Get off, get off, geT OFF-

“He already said no, Vanessa Cordill.” Came a voice from behind. Turning his head, he saw none other than Logan Danrow seated at the table he had run into. Vanessa backed up a few steps, glaring.

“Logan?” Patton asked, shuffling towards him so he was farther away from her .

“Wait, Pat, you know this prick?” Vanessa spat, very different from the person he had been talking with moments prior. He nodded.

“Well, yeah, we know each other from- er, yeah we know each other.” he stammered out, hands fiddling with his bracelets. It was getting harder to breathe.

“Again, Vanessa, he already said he was busy. You may leave, lest your boyfriend sees you.” Logan stated flatly, gaze returning to his book. Glancing back towards Vanessa, she pulled a small notepad out of her purse and scribbled something on it, handing it to him once she had ripped it out.

“Just in case you change your mind,” Was all she said before turning around and skipping back to her table to hang with her tennis friends.

Logan turned a page as Patton sat down across from him. Logan glanced back up at him in surprise.

“You want to sit here?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. “I was under the impression that you wished to sit with your friends.”

“Aw, but Logan you are one of my friends!” Patton grinned, grabbing his previously abandoned tray. “Plus, it seems no one needs my help, so until they do, I’m here! I do feel guilty, though…”

“What do you feel guilty about? I’m afraid I do not understand.” Logan stated, setting his book down.

“It’s just… I’m sure I could’ve fit Vanessa’s activity somewhere in my schedule…” he bit the inside of his cheek. “If I just cut my study time by an hour I could have fit her in, y’know?” He fiddled with the stem on his apple, breaking it off with a wince. “I probably could still tell her, actually!”

“No,” Logan said when he went to stand up. “You should not cut your study time to help someone who has enough help. Your grades are important. Vanessa will be fine.”

Patton slumped back into his seat, chewing on his lip. “I suppose… I just… I want to help people. They’re counting on me.” he wiped at a tear threatening to fall. Logan tapped his fingers against the table.

“Patton,” he started. “How often do you help people?”

“Not enough,” Patton admitted with a hiccup. “Most of my weekend is booked, but I’m sure I could do more if I moved things around. I’m sorry for invading your time, Logan, I’ll leave if you want me to.”

“Nonsense,” Logan waved his hand through the air. “I wasn’t doing much anyway. You know, most people don’t even do half the things you put yourself up for. Do you spend all your free time for others?” At Patton’s nod, he continued. “I recommend taking a weekend for yourself, at the very least.”

“I don’t know, mayb-”

“HEY PATTON! Can you help us?” a member of the Drama Club, Canin, yelled from across the cafeteria, jogging over to him. “Auditions are coming in a couple weeks and we need help choosing a musical to do!” Canin begged. Patton spared an apologetic glance at Logan before following after Canin.

In the final period of the day, the class was told to fill out a worksheet on the periodic table using stations around the room. They were separated into teams of three, Patton’s teammates being Angelica Carter and Skye Johnson. Once they were sent to a station, all three got to work. Well, Skye and Patton did.

Skye was especially smart at science, telling him their dream job was to become an astronomer one day, and to be the first nonbinary person in space. Patton told them that their name was fitting, which caused Skye to burst into giggles.

Angelica, on the other hand, wouldn’t do anything. Once Skye confronted her on it, she claimed that she couldn’t do anything because she didn’t have a pen or pencil.

Just as Patton was about to offer her a pen, he was struck by the memory of himself offering a pen to Virgil on his first day.

Whenever he offered a pen or pencil to others, he almost never got it back, and this was the same situation with Virgil.

Patton had finished filling out his paper, and once he glanced at Virgil the first thing he noticed was the pen in his hands. Patton had wanted so bad to ask for it back, since it was his second-to-last one. But he hadn’t said anything.

And now he was here, feeling guilty that we couldn’t give Angelica a writing utensil. God , this was just not his day, huh? First he couldn’t help Vanessa, then he couldn’t help the Drama Club choose between Little Shop of Horrors and Hairspray, and now didn’t even have a simple pen for Angelica. He was such a failure .

“Maybe the teacher has something?” He offered, Skye returning to the project. Angelica shrugged and walked over to Ms. Alstor.

And even when Angelica had returned, she didn’t help. At all. All Skye did was roll their eyes and mumble under their breath.

Patton didn’t say anything.

All three got an A.

Patton arrived late to Sanders’, again . He had gotten caught up once Jasmine Illes, Vice President of the Student Council, tried to convince him to help out with the volleyball event. He had just barely gotten away with his established schedule intact.

He bursted into the lobby, signing in before Katrine, the one in charge of the front desk, let him in while informing him that the group should still be in the check-in room. He rushed in, Virgil and Logan looking up at him when he entered. Roman was spinning around in his chair, but quickly stopped to greet Patton.

“Sorry I’m late! I got caught up because this girl from school, Jasmine, asked me if I could do something with the Student Council on the weekend.” he quickly announced, taking a deep breath soon after. He grabbed a sheet before plopping down in the nearest chair, taking a few moments to catch his breath.

“Jasmine Illes?” Roman asked. “I know her.” Patton raised an eyebrow.

“You go to Fieldrow? Haven’t seen you there.” Patton said, scribbling out answers.

“Oh, yeah, I just… don’t have the opportunity to go there often.” he replied, looking at the ground awkwardly. Patton was about to say something when Virgil spoke up.

“Yeah, I go there, too,” he muttered, Logan piping up in agreement.

“Aw cool! It’s still the beginning of the school year, maybe we could all join a club that meets on the weekends so we can hang out more!” Patton grinned, looking around at the others.

“I’m not very interested in joining clubs,” Logan started. “I would consider it if it were the Science or Math clubs, but neither of them meet on the weekends.”

“And I don’t really… do clubs. At all.” Virgil continued. Patton let out a small ‘aw’ before turning to Roman.

“What ‘bout you, Roman?” he asked, not acknowledging Logan’s small flinch at the bad grammar.

“Well… I suppose I was thinking about joining the Drama Club… I’m just not sure if it’d work with… me” Roman shook his head. “I’ll decide once they pick a musical.”

Virgil snorted, which caused Roman to let out an indignant ‘wha- hey!’.

“Y’know, I don’t know why I didn’t peg you for a theater nerd earlier, Ro’. It makes perfect sense.” was all Virgil said before Becca quieted them down and told them to start sharing their answers.

Once inside the therapy’s cafeteria, Patton was confronted by Charlie.

“Hey, Patton! I have a new exposure for you.” she greeted. “You ready?”

“Um, hold on-” Patton flipped through his binder, before landing on the page he wanted. He whipped out his pen, and continued. “Yep!”

“Alright, this one’s pretty simple but fits what we’re working on with you! All you need to do is ask a staff to borrow a pen and not return it by the end of the day.” Patton stared at her with wide eyes. His life seemed to be revolving around pens, recently, wasn’t it?

“Do I… do I get to return them next week? Cause, y’know… it’s Friday.” he asked, fiddling with his bracelets. Charlie shook her head.

“It’s better not to. Because, in the future, if you accidentally steal a pen from someone, we don’t want you to freak out much. So it’s better to fight that feeling by keeping them!” she smiled. “I know you’ll do great, Patton.”

Patton scribbled it down in his binder reluctantly. He really did want to refuse the exposure, but that would make Charlie disappointed in him, which would make her feel bad. And Patton hated making other people feel bad. So, discomfort it was.

Patton found himself in front of the two other counselors’, Harley and Ramona’s, office. Peeking through the window he saw that only Harley was present. He knocked on the door before walking in.

“Hey, Patton,” She greeted. “Whatcha need?”

Patton put on his default smile. Act happy, not stressed, he told himself.

“Heyo Harley! I was just wondering if I could borrow a pen?”

After 9 minutes, he had cycled through Becca, Katrine, Ramona, and Vicki. He figured it would be pretty stupid of himself to ask Charlie, so he had to start back at the beginning. Oh dear, what am I supposed to say?

He didn’t have much time to mull it over before Virgil skidded to a stop in front of him. He barely had time to greet him before Virgil was huffing out a response.

“Hey… Patton… sorry one second… gotta catch my breath…” he panted. Patton smiled at him.

“M’kay… This is stupid now that I think of it, but I’m just… Exposures really stress me out, and I have this one where I’m supposed to knock on a staff’s door and just… leave before they can open it.” Virgil started, curling into his hoodie.

“What’s the problem?” Patton prompted when Virgil stayed silent.

“It’s just… really anxiety provoking and- ugh y’know what, it really is stupid, I’ll leave-” Patton grabbed his arm before he could run off. Virgil stilled.

“Virgil! It’s not stupid, Sanders’ can take a lot to get used to. Roman was stressed on his first exposure day, too! Now, I know it’s not your first day, but it still counts! It’ll take a bit to get used to, but it helps in the end!” Patton smiled. “Wanna hug?”

“Erm, no thanks, physical contact scares me. But, ah, thank you. That… helped.” Virgil gave him a small, awkward smile. Patton cherished it. “I am a bit confused, though,” he continued. “It’s about Roman. He said something about my first day being his second proper day, and I was wondering how long he’s been here? Sorry if that was confusing.”

“Don’t worry, I know what you meant. Roman’s first day was Monday, and he started exposures on Tuesday, I think. And then on Wednesday, you came!” Virgil nodded at this, seeming satisfied.

“Now go on!” Patton prompted, gesturing to the staff hallway. “You’ll do great!”

Patton walked into his house, pulling out his phone almost immedietly. He had a plan.

Patton smiled as he looked over the conversation they all had. Because no matter what happened at therapy, by the end he knew he’d still have his new friends. He giggled to himself, feeling giddy. This was so exciting!

He glanced at the groupchat’s name, which at the moment was simply ‘ Therapy pals!! ’, a spur of the moment decision by Patton. He bit his lip as he thought it over.

Patton changed the name of the group to FamILY!     -

Patton smiled even wider than before. Tomorrow was bound to be a good day.

He was sure of it.

Sanders Sides Magic Boys AU

Okay here we go!

So I've been working on this project of sorts for well over a month now. One month planning and designing outfits and then two weeks sitting on the idea bc I've been too nervous to post it XD. But it's time lol.

I am personally a huge anime fan and I also am an extreme fan of the magical girls genre , the outfits, the powers, the stories! I also love Sanders Sides, this this au was born.

So the basics of this AU.

So there are these magic cards that can summon magical beings from other worlds via a written incantation on the cards. The people who use these cards are referred to as 'Summoners'

Once beings are summoned they form a contract of sorts with the summoner and no one else can summon that being until they are released from their contract.

Summoners exist for many different reasons. They will sometimes fight crime, they'll battle each other with their beings for sport, some will do evil things with their beings. Others just are lonely and want friends

Different beings do different things and have different powers and abilities.

Overall the only people who can see these beings and know about them are other summoners bc magic.

There are also these things called wraiths and they're dark shadow beings that will attack summoners, magic users, and people in general.

They especially go for magic users and summoners bc they can consume their magic and become stronger.

They aren't very sophisticated or refined they're more like monsters, mindless and always hungry.

Thomas is a man in his late 20's, he's highly respected in his career and very successful but over all unhappy in his life. His life lacks substance and he never thought he'd spend his days stuck behind a desk so he's rather depressed at the start of this story to say the least.

Until one day on his normal route home from work he comes across a shop he's never seen before. This shop is full of a bunch of odd trinkets, jewelry, statues, etc. It's a menagerie of eccentric items.

Intrigued, Thomas goes in.

He's greeted by a kind older lady who had this otherness about her. She's the shop owner.

As he browses around he comes across these 4 cards with different characters on them and little descriptions at the bottom. They appear to be part of a set.

For some reason he's really drawn to them so he buys them. The lady sells them to him with a knowing smile but otherwise says nothing.

Patton is the first person he summons, and it's completely by accident.

Thomas was just studying the cards when he happened to read The Hearts incantation out loud.

Suddenly in a flash of bright blue and pink light followed by some happy giggling the person from the card is standing in Thomas' living room

Thomas Freaks out

Meanwhile Patton is confused bc wasn't he meant to be summoned???

After some screaming from Thomas and reassurance from Patton. Everyone manages to calm down

Then Patton introduces himself to Thomas and explains what happened, summoners, all that jazz.

And Thomas is both amazed and in disbelief because magic is real and he can do it????

After several questions and some getting to know each other Patton has to return to his realm.

He assures Thomas that if he ever needs anything to not hesitate to call on him. Then in another flash of light he returns back to the card/his world.

Thomas is a bit dumbfounded at this point and still confused and in slight disbelief so he goes to bed.

For the next several days Thomas keeps the cards with him at all times and doesn't tell anyone about the incident with Patton or even about the cards.

Then one evening he's walking home from work late after having to finish up a project when he hears these rather creepy noises.

They're a mixture of low growls and clicking sounds

Worst part is he's completely alone. Most people are at home in bed during this time of night

Then he sees the shadows begin to move towards him. Quickly.

He freezes

He manages to make out eyes, sharp teeth and claws as they approach him snarling and clicking.

Thomas then instinctively yells out for Patton.

Then to his surprise, a light appears from his bag and suddenly Patton is next to him, wand in hand

The light managed to slow the wraiths down but they are still fast coming.

Patton then thrusts his wand in the air and a pink bubble surrounds both him and Thomas protecting them from the wraiths.

Then Patton begins to explain to Thomas that he needs to summon the others bc he is unable to fight the wraiths off. Patton's abilities include healing and creating shields, as he puts it "I'm more of a lover than a fighter"

Thomas reads the incantation for The Archer next and in a flash of bright blue light a man appears holding a glowing long bow.

Patton immediately says "Hey Logan, it's me Patton!"

Logan acknowledges both him and Thomas briefly, more concerned with the wraiths desperately trying to break through Patton's bubble

He then instructs Patton to take Thomas somewhere safe

Patton argues that Logan can't fight all of the wraiths alone

As they go back and forth Thomas summons The Prince

In a flourish of red and gold light a regal looking man appears with a glowing sword, "You called?" He asks with a wink

Logan groans in annoyance, Patton gets excited

The Prince turns to Thomas and introduced himself with a bow "Prince Roman at your service"

Logan brings everyone's attention back to the beasts currently trying to kill them

A serious look crosses over everyone's face, except for Thomas he's a little shaken up atm, and in almost practiced precision Patton grabs Thomas and successfully moves Thomas out of the way as Roman and Logan begin fighting the wraiths.

After a few minutes it's easy to see that Logan and Roman are a bit in over their heads, Patton tries to help while keeping Thomas safe, but they all appear to be on the losing end of this battle, there are just too many wraiths

Then Thomas remembers he has one more card. He pulls it out, it looks slightly current than the others, it's darker and has a silver sheen rather than gold but he's out of options

Thomas summons The Reaper

A billow of black smoke erupts from the card and covers the surrounding area, as it dissipates the gleam of a large scythe can be seen along with a dark figure, his face obscured by his hood.

A chill goes up Thomas' spine

Roman groans "ugh who decided to bring Mr. Doom and gloom along we were doing just fine without him"

"Roman look out!" Logan screams. Then in a flash of black and purple the wraith that snuck up behind Roman was gone. "Just fine without me Princey?" The figures low voice echos sarcastically

Roman huffs but continues fighting

With the aid of their fourth member the team makes quick work of the wraiths

After the fight Patton fusses over everyone and begins healing injuries. And giving everyone big hugs because it's "been so long!"

Then they escort Thomas back to his house for some explaining.

(As I write this I've decided I'm gonna probably draw an intro comic)

Some bonus things

Thomas and the gang begin fighting wraiths and other monsters throughout the town after this event

Logan's bow is made out of a star

Logan has an unlimited amount of arrows bc they are formed when he draws the bow back.

Virgil's scythe can transform into a shield

Along with their weapons, each of the sides has a magical attack

There are more cards that Thomas has yet to find (*cough* Deceit *cough*)

Joan and Talyn are also in this au. Talyn is a magic user and Joan is a summoner

Thomas meets them during one of his monster hunting adventures; they became quick friends

Thomas will also summon the others if he just wants to hang out or needs help with minor things

At first Logan was annoyed by this but he slowly grew to enjoy it

Virgil kind of starts off as an outsider because be is rather dark and not friendly but he is also a valuable member of the team and everyone starts to get along better as they hang out in more casual settings and really get to know each other.
