'the average driver at the 2024 saudi gp has a 2 second penalty' is a statistical anomaly. crimes kmag, who has 30 seconds of penalties is an outlier and should not be counted

Chilchuck kinda canonically has dad humor tm but it's not the bad puns type of dad jokes it's the less well known but just as painful for everyone who has no witness it "horribly timed sexual/crude humor that no one else finds funny except him"

Something about Good Omens from a Jewish perspective, something about Crowley, about questions, something about how we are not in heaven, about how we get to decide the rules here on Earth, something about discussion, about wrestling with G-d, and something about how G-d is outnumbered and doesn't get a say, something about how "heaven" and "hell" don't really matter, about trying to make things better from the context of our lives, something about leaving the world a better place than you found it, something about drinking and enjoying life right here and now, something about "they tried to kill us and failed, let's eat".

Bird-reptiles is a butterfly-moth situation?
Precisely! These kinds of situations show us how wrong we have been for so long about the relationships among various animals. The pretty little boxes we like to make are often very, very wrong, phylogenetically, i.e., they are not compatible with the *actual* relationships among the organisms.
Here are a few other mind-fucks that have come to light as a result of modern methods being applied to traditional categories that turned out to be wrong:
• Snakes are lizards
• Termites are cockroaches
• Birds belong to lizard-hipped dinosaurs (Saurischia), not the bird-hipped ones (Ornithischia)
• All tetrapods are fish
• Insects are crustaceans

If Leander knows Kuras is an angel, this whole exchange is 100% more funny to me.
Leander has been practicing hard to create a drink so nasty it could get an angel shitfaced.

Names can be weapons and Elias is well versed in using them against people. Like my cool mutual @rosalineandrosemary pointed out Melanie doesn't like Elias calling her by her first name and Basira isn't comfortable with being called Detective. He calls Jon the Archivist in the birthday tape because it's a way of telling Jon this was always meant to happen, this was always who he was meant to become
Except, this is the only time Elias calls Jon the Archivist when talking to him. Every time else it's his first name (he says Jon's name more than anyone else's btw). I think it's because he views Jon to be on the same level as him ("the world WE made") and for Elias he is always the person before he is an avatar of the Beholding. And the same applies to Jon
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that it's important to me that Elias calls Jon by his first name at all times

i love how everyone is taking their favorite one piece fan letter characters and making them their ocs; i think it's exactly the point of the episode.
those characters are purposefully left without a name because we, as the viewers, are supposed to see ourselves in them. we're supposed to look at them and relate to them, find a character that was inspired by the straw hats in the same way we were. i think creating these characters and these stories is the best thing the one piece franchise could have done to pay homage to their fans.
the fan letter characters are supposed to be appealing and relatable because they're supposed to be our reflections.
that's why i love how the fandom is reacting to them: we are already obsessing over them, finding names for them, creating fanwork. and it's exactly what we were supposed to do; make those characters ours, make them personal, bring them to life.

My favourite bit of Bridgerton Season 3
Kate: Anthony, you know eating me out won’t give you an heir
Anthony: Just because it hasn’t happened YET doesn’t mean we should stop trying to make it happen, Kate!!!

Another thought for my USians: if you aren't someone who keeps a physical journal/diary, I would start doing so now. I'm a terrible journaler, but I've been a terrible journaler since I was a teen, and as a result I have notebooks filled with random ramblings about my life and politics since I was a kid. It is going to become so important to have these physical records of what is going on right now, both on a personal and political level, in the future. Things that are kept on the Internet can be wiped out or altered (and if you kept an actual journal on LiveJournal, I would print that out). AI is already being used to make up facts-who's to say that this period in history won't become severely warped because of AI? Also, someday the only trace of you and your existence and what you're feeling right now might only be found in a notebook discovered in a box in someone's attic.
Also it might be cathartic. Anyway, journal your way through the apocalypse.

Thinking about how Kaz was so possessive and obsessive over Fifth Harbour because that's the place where he crawled out of the sea no longer as Kaz Rietveld, but as Kaz Brekker, and how that place was his start of darkness and the beginning of his hunt for revenge. But then he gifted Inej a ship there. He told her that her berth would also be free for when, if, she decided to come back, because she is under no obligation to. That's where he gave Inej her parents back. He made his place of start of darkness, to the place of his start back to light, and healing.
Thinking about how Kaz always fixates on the smallest details, and no matter how symbolic it is in an analysis, it's more symbolic to him as a person in the story.
