Festive Fashion: Must-Have Ethnic Outfits for Children's Holiday Celebrations
The holiday season brings a special sparkle to children's eyes, and what better way to enhance their joy than by dressing them in beautiful ethnic outfits? This year's kids dress collection offers a delightful array of options that combine tradition with modern style, ensuring your little ones look their best during festive gatherings.
Our kids collection caters to all seasons, occasions, and age groups. From toddlers taking their first steps to pre-teens ready to make a fashion statement, we have something for everyone. Let's explore the various aspects of our collection that make it a must-have for your child's wardrobe.
Kids Winter Collection:
As the temperature drops and the holiday season approaches, our kids winter collection comes to the rescue. For boys, consider velvet kurtas paired with comfortable pajamas and topped with quilted Nehru jackets. The rich textures and warm fabrics keep them cozy during outdoor celebrations.
Girls can choose from a range of options including long-sleeved anarkali suits, paired with matching shawls or light jackets. Lehengas with full-sleeved blouses and warm dupattas are another excellent choice for winter festivities. The color palette for this collection leans towards deep, rich hues like maroon, forest green, royal blue, and plum, perfect for creating a festive atmosphere.
Kids Summer Collection:
For warmer regions or indoor celebrations, our kids summer collection offers light and breathable ethnic wear. Boys can opt for cotton kurta-pajama sets in pastel shades or bright, festive colors. Short kurtas paired with comfortable dhoti pants are also a trendy choice for the summer months.
Girls have a wide range of options in the summer collection. Light lehenga-choli sets made from airy fabrics like cotton or chiffon allow for easy movement and comfort. Anarkali dresses in light fabrics and pastel shades are another popular choice. For a more casual look, palazzo pants paired with short kurtis offer both style and comfort.
Kids New Collection:
Our kids new collection showcases the latest trends in children's ethnic wear. This season, we're seeing a beautiful blend of traditional and contemporary styles. For boys, dhoti-kurta sets are making a strong comeback, offering a regal look for special occasions. Asymmetrical kurtas paired with churidar pajamas are also gaining popularity.
For girls, the new collection features asymmetrical anarkali dresses, tiered lehengas, and indo-western gowns. Peplum-style tops paired with sharara pants offer a trendy twist to traditional outfits. In terms of embellishments, we're seeing a lot of gota patti work, mirror embroidery, and delicate zari embroidery adding a touch of elegance to these outfits.
Kids Wear Collection:
Our comprehensive kids wear collection ensures that children of all ages have access to high-quality, comfortable ethnic outfits. We understand that children grow quickly, so our collection includes adjustable features like elasticated waistbands and adjustable shoulder straps to extend the life of the garments.
For younger children, we focus on soft fabrics and easy-to-wear styles. Slip-on kurtas, elasticated salwars, and simple lehenga sets dominate this range. As children grow older, we introduce more intricate designs and a wider range of styles to cater to their evolving tastes.
Mix and match separates are a key feature of our collection, allowing for creativity in styling. A kurta can be paired with jeans for a fusion look, or with a dhoti for a more traditional appearance. Similarly, a lehenga skirt can be paired with a crop top for a modern twist or with a traditional choli for a classic look.
When shopping for your child's holiday outfit, consider the following tips:
Comfort is key: Choose soft, breathable fabrics that won't irritate your child's skin.
Consider the occasion: Select outfits appropriate for the specific celebration and venue.
Allow for growth: Pick adjustable outfits that can be worn for multiple seasons.
Involve your child: Let them have a say in choosing their festive wear to boost their confidence and ensure they feel comfortable in what they're wearing.
Accessorize wisely: Complete the look with appropriate accessories like bangles, small earrings, or a traditional necklace, but ensure they're safe and comfortable for children to wear.
Care instructions: Pay attention to care labels to ensure the longevity of the outfits, especially for pieces with delicate embroidery or embellishments.
This holiday season, dress your little ones in outfits that not only look great but also celebrate your cultural heritage. With our diverse kids dress collection, you're sure to find the perfect ethnic wear for your child's holiday celebrations, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Unstitched suits: Gota Patti suit designs for Different Occasions
Unstitched salwar kameez sets are garments bought in their raw form, that lets the user do the customization through tailoring. These sets typically include salwar, kameez, and a dupatta.
Unstitched suits offer a key benefit that they can be customized to suit personal preferences, fit, and body shapes. People prefer buying unstitched suits because they can be tailored to enhance a woman's figure in a modest way.
Now, let's summarize the classic story of Gota Patti suits so you can understand how its elegance can add sophistication to your suit designs. Gota Patti embroidery has its roots in the Mughal and Rajput eras. It's a time-consuming craft, featuring motifs like paisley, peacocks, florals, sparrows, humans, geometric patterns, and horses. This work is primarily done on lightweight fabrics such as georgette, cotton, crepe, and silk.
At Lavanya, we've created a unique range of Gota Patti suits that celebrate this craftsmanship. Our collection includes cotton unstitched suit sets with contemporary designs that showcase the beauty of Gota Patti embroidery.
In this blog we will discuss how to style Gota Patti Unstitched suits for various occasions.
Long side slit suits
Transform your simple gota patti suits into a tailored masterpiece. Opt for a kurta with a wide neckline and a gracefully long side-slit. Pair it with tailored pencil pants, and add a 5-inch net border to the bottom of the pants for an elegant touch. This fully stitched suit promises a flawless fit and a perfect look, ensuring that you radiate confidence and style wherever you go.
You can confidently wear this suit to any formal event or a gathering where heavily embellished attire may not be necessary.
Anarkali Style Suits

Angrakha Suits
Fashion continually re-invents itself with new designs and patterns that draw inspiration from historical styles. An excellent example of this is the "Angrakha" style, which has stood the test of time. Angrakha is a long kurta with side cuts in a flowy fabric, that originates from Royal Rajasthani fashion. Fashion Recommendations - Tackling The Wedding Season
I’ve been meaning to start a series of blog posts, hopefully every month, recommending and translating some of the current trends but in a more realistic way. Here’s the thing, I do not like the whole idea of trends. Not only do they promote fast fashion, but even financially, the idea of giving one’s hard-earned money to some giant corporate machine who will eventually tell you 6 months later that what you’re wearing is “not in” anymore doesn’t make any sense to me.
Still, I understand wanting to stay up to date with the constantly evolving fashion scene and that is why, I thought of starting these series of recommendation posts that will help you navigate the online ordering world. After spending numerous hours (not exaggerating), going through a couple of websites, I shortlisted these 40 items that I feel would be perfect for wedding season. From ceremonies like Mehendi, the Wedding and Reception to everything else in between, I have tried to add something for every event while also keeping variety of personal styles in mind.
All the products that I have chosen fall in the price range of high street brands but again, do keep in mind that the list has been made keeping longevity in mind. I would hate for you to buy something and feel like it’s useless couple of months later because it’s not trendy anymore.
Do note that these are all Indian websites (because that is where I’m from). So, if you’re from some other country and are interested in me picking out some pieces, just email or message me here and I’ll try to find a good website in your country.
Styling Tip
Just because something is expensive does not make it a quality product. So, if you associate spending more money with excellence, believe me, you’d greatly benefit by letting go of that thinking.
Half of the trick lies in styling and to look good, you’d have to let your creative juices flow. Styling can be fun and easy, once you find your way around trends. In fact, then you’ll look forward to repeating your outfits because that will give you an opportunity to mix and match them with different accessories. Not to mention, it would be cost-efficient. So, this is kind of an eternal tip while shopping - buy something that you know for sure that you’ll re-wearing it a couple of times at least (you’d be surprised how many people don’t shop like that).
Anyways, I think you have probably stopped reading this by now. So, let’s just jump into it. Happy shopping!

10 ETHNIC TRENDS YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS SUMMER
Dressing up for an occasion in this searing heat can be exhausting, and it may be the last thing on your mind. But can we genuinely avoid invites and celebrations for very long? This hide-and-seek game isn’t going to last long in a country where every day seems like a holiday! Before you are up in the never-ending conundrum of choosing the right ensemble for the formal event. My friend, you should confront reality and get your occasion wear in order.
Summer 2021 is all about restoring Awadh and Mughal grandeur. Experimenting with pastels, spreading yapping yellow enchantment, sporting Lucknow’s pride – Chikankari. Keeping it sassy with chevrons and stripes, and much more! Look through the Top 10 Occasion Wear Trends, pick a beat, and get ready to style:
TRADITIONAL GHARCHOLA BANDHANI
Gharchola, a well-known version of Bandhani, is a traditional cloth from Gujarat’s Khambhat region. Gharchola sarees are traditionally given to the bride as she prepares to enter her new house. This means Ghar and Chola imply wedding clothes in Gujarati weddings.
This Gharchola Bandhani has recently become popular! Gharchola Anarkali outfits, dupattas, and sarees abound at wedding markets. These patterns have a defined geometric check pattern that is finished with traditional Bandhani stitching, making them easy to distinguish. Look for these in red, green, pink, and orange tones, as well as the brilliant dual tones.
Don’t make the mistake of dismissing things because you think only a bride can pull it off. You can wear a Gharchola dupatta with a basic Anarkali suit or a Gharchola saree with Kundan jewelry to complete the style. This timeless craft will tenfold enhance your ultimate appearance.
GHARARAS & SHARARAS: THE AWADHI LEGACY
Ghararas and Shararas, an article of traditional clothing worn by the inhabitants of Awadh, Uttar Pradesh. It is ideally a routine occurrence for Awadhi ladies. The designers of 2021 have followed the adage “old is gold” and have gone to great lengths to resuscitate. Furthermore, to maintain the charm of this combination by experimenting with minimal silhouette alterations.
The airy wide-legged pants with ruched knees or flared-kali shararas don’t cling to your body as a churidar does! Doesn’t it seem like a huge relief already? Furthermore, not only girls but also mothers can wear these outfits. Yes, you read that correctly. They are designed to be worn by ladies of all ages. It can provide a welcome respite from the monotony of sarees and salwar suits.
PEPLUM PALAZZO OR DHOTI SETS: GREEK GONE ETHNIC
Who’d have guessed that a group of Greeks would go the Indian way and emerge in such a gorgeous ethnic guise? Ideally defined as fashionable western attire, visualization peplum with palazzos. Also, jewelry would have sounded entirely unreal just a few years ago. However, we must commend the Indian design industry for making our lives so much easier by releasing these airy peplum palazzo suits.
You can style it on a family gathering, mehndi, sangeet, or festive occasion. Pair with a tassel, embroidered, Banarasi, or Organza tissue dupatta to grab the attention of many.
THE FLORAL FLURRY
It’s like serving custard without jelly when we talk about summers and leave florals out. Florals are a summer staple design in both the casual and celebratory fashion worlds. With their summer collections, Indian fashion designers like Anita Dongre, Sabyasachi to name a few, have set the trends on fire. Featuring flower motifs scattered throughout delicate lehengas, capes, overlays, and sarees made from crisp and lustrous Organza Silk, stylish Crepe, or flowing Georgette fabrics.
BEADWORK, MIRROR WORK, AND SWAROVSKI: THE GLIMMER GAGA
How can we be behind in adding a little glitter to our summer occasion wear? Certainly when the sun doesn’t shy away from illuminating the land all year? In glistening mirror work, sequins, or beaded shararas, heavy kali Anarkalis, dupattas, and lehengas, walk hand-in-hand with the bright sun.
Maven of mirror work “Rhapsody,” Abhinav Mishra’s Spring 2021 collection. It is inspired by a romantic ideal that comes true in which love joins everyone and happiness knows no bounds. The group is truly a masterpiece, with a soft pastel hue and a web of fascinating mirror work.

When fashioned into summary Organza Tissue Silk fabric, such designs may guarantee elegant elegance and entrancing poise due to the feather-light & sheer texture. Many high-end designers are experimenting with Organza Tissue capes, overlays, and other embellishments.
CHEVRON AND STRIPES: GEOMETRIC JAZZ
This summer, the beat to jive to is geometrics with a dash of glitz! The addition of embellishments such as Gota Patti, coin, and mirror work to the peppy chevron and stripes patterns is a game changer! Designers like Priyal Prakash, the Chevron Queen, and Abhinav Mishra, the Glimmer Guy, are making us fall in love with their summer event wear collection. Collection with geometric lehengas, dupattas, and sarees.
CHIKANKARI: THE MUGHAL GLORY
Chikankari, a pride of Lucknow, is said to have been given to live during the Mughal Era by Jahangir’s wife, Nur Jahan. It is one of India’s most ancient and recognized textile crafts. The exquisite floral threadwork, usually done on fabrics like Georgette, Cotton, and Muslin, looks gorgeous. Ideally, you can fashion it into heavy kali lehengas, Anarkalis, sarees, and blouses. This textile craft has recently grabbed the occasion wear trends by storm. Dress Up Right Whether It’s Day Or Night
For a fashionista, the wedding season comes bearing excitement and opportunities, and when it’s her own wedding around the corner, she brings her A-game! While weddings at night have been the usual norm, more and more people choose to celebrate the occasion under the sun. Believe it or not, it turns the whole deal around in the fashion sphere! Here’s your cheat sheet on acing the wedding wear maze—whether it’s day or night:
Sunny Celebrations
When shopping for a day wedding, think fun, preppy and chic all the way. Whether it’s a run to your favourite designer boutique or a hunt for bridal lehengas online, picture how the attire will look set against natural light—you’d obviously want stellar photos to immortalise your special day!
For a day wedding in the summer, we recommend light hues—natural whites, pastels with earthy undertones. You can pick lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen to keep things simple and breezy. A well-fitted crop top paired with a lightweight lehenga works like magic for a day wedding! Pair with silver or gold jewellery depending upon the work or tones of your outfit. Either pick really bold earrings like big chaand balis or layer up on silver necklaces! Your make-up should be light—pink lips and highlighted cheeks should do the trick.
Winter-day weddings are a whole new ball game—either pick super bright shades such as yellow, fuchsia, turquoise blue and colour block them with equally bright hues or go for subtle undertones of pastels in pink and blue. Not convinced? Just look up fashion diva Athiya Shetty in an ice blue lehenga by one of the top bridal designers in India, Anita Dongre. Dongre knows wedding wear like the back of her hand—so you might want to browse through her dazzling collection online.
Colour blocking is a trend fit for winters—layer up your outfit with jackets and stoles; play around with pants and crop tops in vividly different hues such as black and orange, pink and green etc. If there’s a lot happening in your outfit, either keep the jewellery minimal or balance it out with loud pieces where the oomph lacks. For example, if you pair a crop top with pants and layer it up with a maxi embroidered jacket, we suggest a bold maang tikka in kundan or polki instead of mainstream trinkets like earrings and necklaces. Keep make-up loud here—use your bronzer and a dark eye palette. Deep shades of wine work best for lips!
Glam Nights
Night weddings are inevitably louder, so you need to amp up your oomph quotient—whether it’s summer or winter. Pick solid tones like a rusty orange or mustard saree and liven it up with a blouse in bright shades of fuchsia or turquoise blue! Jewellery can be as experimental as you want; big chunky pieces like jhumkas or huge silver pendants work well. Light eye and cheek make-up with bold lips look good on a summer night. Try to keep things simple yet funky!
Winter nights are all about royalty—hues like black, deep red, emerald and sapphire should rule your night wedding ensemble. Layer up your outfit; use gota patti embroidered jackets atop your anarkali suit or warm stoles, dupattas and shawls. Pick regal gold jewellery: chaand balis, kundan and polki work, natural stones etc.
Sania Mirza wore an inspiring outfit for her sister’s wedding with bright shades of red with shimmering gota patti work, paired with subtle tones in gold and beige! Her high-slit jacket completely changed the game, doing wonders for her figure.
Don’t hold back with your make-up either, keep it loud with contouring or strobing techniques and apply darker lip shades. You can go for matte lipsticks in deep reds during winters.
While these tips will help you out, there are no set rules in the world of fashion. Combinations you’d never thought of might actually work out really well! Don’t forget the comfort element when you pick out your wedding wear—the bride can only look like a queen if she feels like one.
