Fighter actor Nishant Kkhanduja recalls a prank played by Anil Kapoor on him; says, “It was a funny but anxious incident”

Nishant Kkhanduja also shared about his experience of working with the extensive star cast of the patriotic drama.

Actor Nishant Kkhanduja is currently riding high post the success of Hritik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter. Having shared screen space with some of the biggest stars from Bollywood, Nishant recalled the experience of working with them and along with that he also recalled an incident where he ended up losing his diamond ring. However, it seems it was a small prank played by Anil Kapoor.

Sharing this interesting incident from sets he recalled losing his diamond ring, Nishant Kkhanduja said, “It’s a funny but anxious incident. I used to wear my solitaire diamond ring to the set every day and before the shot used to keep that in my pocket. One fine day, the pocket was torn, little did I know this, my ring fell from it. When I was trying to find it, I got very anxious on not finding it anywhere. I legit asked everyone on the set if anyone has seen it. To which, Anil sir had found it and played a prank on me. He kept this a secret until the day ended. I was panicking, and when I was leaving the sets, his manager handed me the ring, since Anil sir was in his shot.”

Speaking of his experience working on this film alongside such a wonderful cast, he added, “Working on Fighter was an emotional rollercoaster, filled with moments of awe, camaraderie, and profound growth. Stepping onto set for the first time alongside the legendary Hrithik sir, under the direction of my idol Siddharth Anand, was a surreal experience. It wasn't just the star power that made Fighter special; it was the bonds formed with my co-stars, particularly Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover, who quickly became like family to me.”

Fighter teaser: Tricolour shot, top-class visuals, badass tagline will ensure that Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer opens with a BANG on Republic Day 2024!

Hrithik Roshan rocked the show last month with his special appearance in the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-Emraan Hashmi starrer Tiger 3. And now, this month, too, he's a talking point thanks to his upcoming release, Fighter. The posters of Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor are out and all eyes are now on the teaser. Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news that the much-awaited promo will be out on December 8. A day before the teaser release, Bollywood Hungama got a sneak peek of the teaser, that too in 3D. And one can say with confidence that Fighter, directed by master director Siddharth Anand, has the potential to be the first blockbuster of 2024!

Fighter's teaser, as per the censor certificate, is 1 minute and 16 seconds long. It introduces the world of the film and that it is Indian cinema's first aerial action franchise. Hrithik Roshan as Patty looks dashing and is sure to be greeted with whistles when this promo is shown in cinemas. But watch out for him with the tricolour. It's a money shot that is guaranteed to get seetis and taalis in hordes.

Deepika Padukone, too, seems aptly cast as Minni and she also has her share of action scenes. A quick glimpse is seen of her sizzling avatar and it gives an indication that after her hot appearance in Pathaan, she’s once again all set to soar the temperatures in the chilling month of January. Finally, Anil Kapoor’s casting as Rocky also gives a lot of weightage.

What comes across as a surprise in the teasers are the supers/texts. Two of them stand out – ‘Trying to catch us? You must be joking!’ and ‘Republic Day will never be the same again’ – take the impact to another level. These badass texts give a novel touch and also probably are in sync with the attitude of the characters in the film.

The article cannot be complete without the mention of Siddharth Anand. He has always come up with stylish teasers, be it Bang Bang (2014), War (2019) or Pathaan (2023). Fighter’s teaser is no exception. It is stylishly and neatly cut and proves yet again why Siddharth deserves to be one of the most celebrated filmmakers of Indian cinema. Moreover, the VFX matches global standards. It looks as visually appealing as a big-scale Hollywood film and yet has the mass appeal that the single audience craves. Fighter is also a special film for him as it is also his first outing as a producer, along with Mamta Anand, under Marflix Pictures in association with Viacom18 Studios.

Fighter’s teaser will be out on Friday, December 8, at 11:00 am. Interestingly, it is Hrithik Roshan’s first 3D film. It’ll also be released in 2D and IMAX on January 25, 2024 worldwide, that is, exactly a year after Siddharth Anand’s record-breaking film, Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

AMC Picks Up Captain Nemo Origin Series ‘Nautilus’ From Disney, Plans to Air Show in 2024

The Captain Nemo origin story series “Nautilus” lives on, with AMC Networks licensing the U.S. and Canadian linear and streaming rights to the live-action series from Disney Entertainment.

The 10-episode show was originally slated to air on Disney+, but it was announced back in August that the show was not going forward at the streamer as part of a wide-ranging cost cutting initiative at the Mouse House.

AMC and AMC+ will now air the show as a special television event in 2024, with an exact premiere date to be announced later. Inspired by Jules Vernes’ “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea,” the show will explore the early life of Captain Nemo, who is played by Shazad Latif. The character is described as “an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, a prisoner of the East India Mercantile Company and a man bent on revenge against the forces that have taken everything from him.”

“’Nautilus’ is a big, sweeping drama that is sure to appeal to fans of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe and other buzzy and fan-forward series like ‘Orphan Black: Echoes,’” said Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios. “We are looking forward to bringing it to AMC+ and AMC as a special television event next year.”

Along with Latif, the cast of the show includes Georgia Flood, Thierry Fremont and Céline Menville, with guest appearances from Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv and Noah Taylor.

The series was developed and produced by Moonriver TV’s Xavier Marchand and Seven Stories’ Anand Tucker. James Dormer serves as writer and executive producer. Johanna Devereaux, Chris Loveall, Colleen Woodcock, and Daisy Gilbert also executive produce. Cameron Welsh serves as producer. Michael Matthews was the lead director.

“I am hugely excited that the efforts of everyone involved in the making of the show will be seen on such a prestigious network,” said Dormer.

“We are so thrilled to present the epic adventures of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine The Nautilus alongside the other incredible AMC universes,” said Marchand and Tucker. “The series will take viewers on a breathtaking journey with Nemo and his crew, battling terrifying creatures and the dark forces of the British Empire.”

“Nautilus” is distributed by Disney Entertainment and acknowledges the support from the Australian Government’s Location Incentive and from the Queensland Government via Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.

Backstory:

Daya was a pretty regular boy: average grades, average home life, average social life, average everything.

At 15, the boy experienced a sudden change in behavior; he became reckless, often committed small crimes such as shoplifting or vandalizing walls with the help of his friends, he started studying less and started snapping at everyone around him.

Three years later Daya began losing the contact he had with the outside world, he dropped out of school, stopped talking with friends and family and locked himself in his room for days on end.

This caused him to become more paranoid, he heard people murmur in his ears and saw shadows in the back of his eyes.

After a while, Daya started experiencing delusions, the most frequent one being that "someone" was after him and he needed to escape from it. So, the young man ran away from home.

He planned to go in another state and "start his new life"; as he was sitting at a  bus station, he met Carol: Carol was a middle aged woman, whose attention got caught by his incoherent mumbling and panicked look.

She offered him to stay at her home, as long as he did a few housework for her.

Seeing that as an opportunity to finally escape, Daya accepted.

A few months passed, the man started noticing how little time Carol spent home, she always said it was because of her job but she never told him what her job was.

One day, out of curiosity, Daya looked through her studio in hope to find something that would have helped him know more about who Carol really was.

What he found there horrified him: the drawers were full of files describing weird experiments, along with pictures of said experiments.

Obviously concerned, Daya tried to call the police, but they didn't believe his claims.

Carol was informed by one of her neighbors that the police had been called on her house; she was furious. Daya tried to say that he had accidentally called the wrong number, but she knew he was lying.

After that event, Carol had no other choice but to lock him up in a place she knew he wouldn't cause any trouble in: the facility where she worked.

Years passed in that horrid building. Daya, who had been labelled as "017", was now only an empty shell of what he used to be.

He was tired of this. He wanted everything to end.

So, one night, he snapped.

The man killed every living being in that lab, he didn't bother to make it quick, they didn't deserve it, they caused so much pain to so many people and it was time they got what they deserved.

When Carol came back to the facility the next morning, she was met with the sight of blood covering the hallways and corpses scattered everywhere around the building.

Suddenly, she heard a scream coming from one of the rooms and suddenly rushed over to check who it was. There, she saw him: 017 was brutally killing one of the last doctors left, she watched in horror as the man continued stabbing the corpse even when it showed no signs of being alive.

The woman immediately pulled him away and threw him on the ground, before he could do anything she stomped repeatedly on his chest, until he was left coughing blood.

Carol was about to kill him, but seeing the pained look in his eyes as he passed out made her feel some kind of pity.

Before she could change her mind, Carol brought 017's unconcious body at the edge of a nearby forest and left the facility one last time, making sure no one else saw that cursed building ever again.

Well a studio has picked up The Critic for British distribution, but they’re reworking it first. Changing the end, and reshooting a lot of Ian McKellen’s part, and possibly some of Gemma Arterton and Benny’s. Honestly the guy who owns this thing sounds like an asshat; his whole thing is getting indie films and stripping them to make them more commercially mainstream. He even specifically mentioned enjoying Aftersun, but he would never want to work with something like that because you can’t sell it. At least The Critic sounded bad in the first place.

But hey, BB will actually act for the first time in two years. And we can mock the return of the even uglier 2022 haircut. Dude even wants a small movie premiere around November, so probably more Benny European gigs for the album release

Dilip Kumar’s tribute to Dev Anand 12th March 2017.

I am just a year senior to Dev Anand. All three of us, Raj, Dev and I, started our careers around the same time in the mid-1940s. I still have fond memories of Dev and I travelling by local train to look for work in various studios. We developed a good rapport within a short period and Dev became a dear family friend, especially of my younger brother, Nasir Khan.

By the late 1940s all of us were able to gain a strong footing in filmdom. Raj and I achieved stardom with “Shaheed”, “Andaz” and “Barsat”. Dev rose to heights with “Ziddi” and “Baazi”. We shared a decent professional rapport and a mutual set of unspoken ethics right from the beginning. Though nothing was put into words, we shared a silent regard for each other.

There were frequent meetings between us when we would discuss and analyse each of our works. We had humorous moments also when Raj would imitate me and Dev immaculately. They were such beautiful moments as we were competitors, not rivals.

Dev’s plus point was that he was very co-operative with every co-star and technician. He had devastating looks and a smile which till date no other actor has. Whenever he received the right script and an imaginative director, he gave superb performances as in “Kala Pani”, “Asli Naqli” and “Guide”. Among us, he was the best in performing romantic scenes.

I had the good fortune of sharing space on screen with Dev Anand in Gemini’s “Insaniyat” in 1955. Directed by the respected S.S. Vasan, it was a costume drama. So generous was Dev that he cancelled dates of his own production shooting to accommodate dates with me. I personally saw how he helped junior artists by giving them take after take so that they could prove their worth. He never neglected anyone.

We made it a point to attend each other’s family functions. I attended his sister’s marriage in the mid- 1950s and daughter Devina’s marriage in 1985. Dev was present with wife Mona throughout my marriage function with Saira Banu in 1966 and also other events at our Pali Hill residence. We met like family members and never did our profession come into our relations.

Perhaps the most important visit, I, Raj and Dev did was to see Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, then India’s Prime Minister, prior to his demise. We discussed many issues together. Just as I addressed him as Dev, he addressed me as Lale.

I am shocked and grief struck to learn about his sad demise in London suddenly. My 89 birthday will be my saddest one as I will miss my dear Dev who I am sure would come, hug and greet me saying, “Lale, Tu Hazar Saal Jiyega.” Dev, Kahan Chale Gaye Mujhe Chod Ke.”

★ Tiger vs Pathaan to begin with a face-off between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan?

Director Siddharth Anand to begin Tiger vs Pathaan’s pre-production in October; filming to kick off in February with SRK-Salman’s confrontation scene

Zealous fans are not alone as they eagerly wait to see Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan together in Tiger vs Pathaan. Producer Aditya Chopra is equally excited about taking the YRF spy universe forward with what is being touted as Yash Raj Films’ most ambitious project to date. Chopra and director Siddharth Anand are planning to begin pre-production on the espionage thriller in October, and take it on floors between January and February 2024.

Expectations are bound to be sky-high when you have Shah Rukh and Salman joining forces. Knowing the film’s high stakes, Chopra has been personally involved in writing it with Sridhar Raghavan. The source adds, “The story outline had been cracked a while ago. After the script is locked, the two superstars will be called for a joint narration.” The producer-director duo want to shoot most of the combination scenes in the first schedule. “If things go as planned, the shoot will go on from February till May, with parts of it being shot at huge sets across studios in Mumbai. Siddharth apparently plans to kick off the shoot with a dramatic confrontation scene between Shah Rukh’s Pathaan and Salman’s Tiger, which will capture the film’s essence. The two superstars have already given bulk dates for the first leg.”

Tiger vs Pathaan will mark the reunion of the superstar friends, who have previously featured together in Karan Arjun (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002). Their off-screen camaraderie reflected on screen as Salman made a cameo in Shah Rukh’s Pathaan earlier this year, which became the film’s biggest highlight.

Welcome to Scorpion Den

Scorpion Den is a secret hacking collective and hacktivist group, they have a countrywide presence and thousands of followers, with their goal being to expose the corruption in the common world, including large corporations. Out of many “Dens” located all around the world, Scorpion Den is the only known active Den for the Japan Branch. However, despite their popularity, they prefer to work away from the public eye.

“Dens” are a notorious hacking collective that operates all around the world, choosing an animal or insect to represent each Den. In Shinagawa, Japan, the “Den” residing there belong to the Scorpions. The group is opposed to the control and oppression the government and corrupt corporations want on the public, Scorpion Den has the objective of proving that the system is flawed and unnecessary. The group’s members hack into various corporation systems for destructive purposes in order to highlight its weaknesses and vulnerabilities, sometimes however, should the situation calls for it, the members plan and preform heists to steal from corporations and high profile areas for the people’s (or their own) benefit.

There are at least over one million followers/members of “Dens” worldwide. Their belief is technology should not be used to control people; as a result, Scorpion Den is actively fighting against the government and corrupt organizations, spamming messages about themselves and their cause. Scorpion Den lacks a militaristic side and focuses more on pranks and muckraking-in particularly, advertising their app, which allows their fans to lend their computers’ processing power to their operations.

Scorpion Den has many hideouts not just in Shinagawa but in most of the Divisions. Their main headquarters is in a building on the outskirts of Shinagawa, on the other side of the city is where Player one Studios resides.

The main headquarters is are large eight-story buildings similar to apartment complexes where most members of Scorpion Den stay and live in, there are approximately 345 people (and counting) living there ranging from ages 5 and 27. No one knows how one gets indoctrinated into the Den, either you actively seek them out in hopes of finding them or they come to you when you least expect it. While to outsiders, it may seem like a dangerous place where criminally intelligent people run rampant but to the members of Scorpion Den, it is their home and each member that joins is immediately treated like family. Scorpion Den is a haven for the broken and damaged, the world is a terrible place and they’ve experienced that firsthand, so to have a place to get away from the rot and filth and corruption of the world is nothing short of a miracle. It’s different for each Den around the world but Scorpion Den is a family, a family that won’t hurt you or leave you behind.

The reason why there is little to no orphans/homeless kids in Shinagawa is because they've found a (loving) home in SD. Kids from abusive/neglectful homes also find respite in the hacker den. Young adults also uses this chance as to make new lives or identities, do things that they've never done or weren't allowed to do before, some genuinely believe that Scorpion Den really makes a better change to the world. Of course, they always have a choice to leave, no one is there against their will. If someone wants to leave and find their own path, they're free to do so and they have the full support of the Den with them, if a kid wants to have a new home with a new family that will actually love and care for them, there is a small team that acts as a sort of CPS/Orphanage, they'll find and research a person/family they've been looking into and after making sure multiple times that they have nothing nefarious hidden and are an actual good and genuine candidate to receive a child, they'll discretely work to place said child into that home and give check ups to see if everything is good and well before leaving. However, the kid does have a communicator that they can use should anything go south, just as a precaution.
