Disclaimer: I'm not a medical professional and will only be relaying information and my own experiences

Now what is Leuprorelin? It's a T-Blocker in the form of an gnrh analogon, meaning it blocks the formation of sexual hormones (in this case testosterone)

So why do I love this stuff?

1. I've had absolutely no side effects, most other people I've spoken who are also on it have also confirmed this experience

2. I don't have to take it daily, because it's injected into the tummy fat as a 3 month depot

Which gets us to the only major drawback I'm aware of: The syringe used to inject it, if that should be a Problem for you

Now why isn't it more common?

My endocrinologist said mainly because it's used to treat hormone reactive late stage cancers which leads to a) Other endocrinologists being less aware of its use in transfem hrt and b) it being rather pricey, so your insuranxe might fight you about it

How to derive the Von Neumann equation

Let’s have look on the Von Neumann equation which has a lot of important applications in quantum mechanics - e.g. the derivation of the Optical Bloch equations used for the description of atoms interacting with light.

Before we start we have to introduce the concept of density matrices. There’s a lot to learn about them; we’re only going to scratch on their surface.

The general shape of a density matrix describing an ensemble consisting of mixed states (no coherent superposition between the possible states) looks like the following:

It is mainly a diagonal matrix weighted by the probabilties p_i for measuring a certain state Psi_i. Consequently the sum of all probabilities, i.e. the trace of the matrix has to equal one.

To make our derivation of the Von Neumann equation look more neat and simple we are going to use the density matrix of a pure state. A pure state consists only of a coherent superposition - so it’s not a diagonal matrix as the one for mixed states. But this shouldn’t bother us any further in the discussion.

Now we are ready to derive the Von Neumann equation! Let’s simply start with the lefthand side of it and use product rule:

Those time derivatives of Psi urge us to use the Schrödinger equation in two specific shapes:

Now we can simply plug those Schrödinger equations into our derivation from above:

Immediately recognizing the former density matrix again we get:

And we already got our anticipated result - the Von Neumann equation!

Finally I’d like to add some remarks:

One might think that the Von Neumann equation looks similar to the Heisenberg equation - but be aware that this similarity can be misleading. Heisenberg equation uses the Heisenberg picture (states are time independent, operators are time dependent). The Von Neumann equation stays in Schrödinger picture with time dependent states (within the density matrix) and a Hamiltonian which does not evolve in time. 

The Von Neumann equation is the quantum mechanical analogon of the classical Liouville equation. From Liouville equation you can derive an important result of classical mechanics: Liouville’s theorem! It tells us that the Volume in phase space between two trajectories is constant in time.
