Welp. I mean, this is because Anakin knows, deep down (whether he wants to admit it to Skeevy Sheev or not) that Obi-Wan loves him and supports him and will continue to do so, no matter how much of a brat he is. The High Council Masters, on the other hand, are still kind of borderline scary for Anakin. They're those extremely responsible adults who originally didn't think he should be trained but ultimately changed their minds about it. He desperately wants to reinforce any positive thinking they might have about him because a part of him (the part that Skeevy Sheev encourages) is fearful about them changing their minds (and afraid that maybe he isn't really cut out to be a Jedi). And eventually this fear morphs into anger, which is why, in SW: TCW and RotS, we see him increasingly lashing out about the High Coucil Masters and how they're wrong and they don't treat him right or fairly, etc. (On the flip side of the whole anger/fear that we all know Skeevy Sheev reinforces at every possible opportunity, there's probably also a part of Anakin that increasingly realizes that the High Council Masters actually do like and trust him, much like Obi-Wan, and that, even when he constantly tests boundaries with them to see if they'll break, really, what he's doing is reaffirming to himself that there's room here for him and he actually is wanted and belongs.)
There is something really weird to me about how AOTC portrayed nineteen-year-old Anakin as much more docile and calm to the Jedi Council than he was to Obi-Wan and someone who meditated when he was troubled and who genuinely tried to discuss his nightmares with Obi-Wan, but fandom would have you believe he resists mediating at all costs, refusing to ever even hint at his feelings, and someone who’d skateboard into a Jedi Council meeting thirty minutes late wearing a backwards hat with a boom box blasting heavy metal on his shoulder.
I just notice these things, is all.

Having finished the first "Jedi Apprentice" book... some thoughts based purely on that one book and the movies...
On one hand, I do think that no one should have ever let Qui-Gon Jinn be responsible for a child. Like, yeah, the Jedi Council keeps sending children into horribly dangerous situations all the time (because it's kids media, this is how kids media works), so I will not put Obi-Wan repeatedly being in lethal physical danger entirely on Qui-Gon (it's a little bit on him); there's an institutional issue here. But, for the love of goodness, that aside, Qui-Gon is obviously just not currently equipped to take responsibility for and help a child's emotional and mental wellbeing.
On the other hand, I do think that this was... decently written? The characterization is clear. I do understand why Qui-Gon Jinn thinks the way that he does even if I find a lot of his thoughts infuriating and strongly disagree with his conclusions. His past experiences with a padawan fucked him up and it's coloring all of his current choices, and he knows it but doesn't want to examine exactly how. PLUS there is the cultural / institutional element of even Jedi initiates being deadly little killing machines and padawans regularly being sent into danger. Qui-Gon grew up this way, he evidently views some element of this as normal and acceptable. This is along the lines of what happened to HIM as a child.
And that's interesting. Obi-Wan Kenobi will later turn around and make some of the exact same mistakes with Anakin Skywalker.
PLUS there's the knowledge that Qui-Gon was trained by Dooku and... I have to believe that Dooku was probably worse, honestly. Like, I have not read the additional materials that might show off that master-apprentice relationship, but Dooku became a damn Sith Lord who waged war against the galaxy because he thought that accelerationalism would fix shit, which suggests to me that he was probably a strict and demanding master, probably not especially emotionally available, especially emotionally intelligent, and/or especially respectful of, like, other people's opinions or feelings. I won't assume at the moment that it was intentionally abusive or that there wasn't some affection there; I AM going to assume that the Dooku & Qui-Gon dynamic was in some way dysfunctional as all get out, though.
Qui-Gon is actively refusing to take a padawan because he knows that he's not in a good place for one and doubts his own teaching abilities! He really does not want to be responsible for a child! (And Yoda is going, "Fix him, I can," and by "I", Yoda means "12-year-old Obi-Wan Kenobi".) Unfortunately, Qui-Gon is so desperate to avoid Xanatos happening again that he shies away from taking even temporary guardianship of Obi-Wan Kenobi for the duration of a transport flight.
So, while knowing that Qui-Gon Jinn is going to fuck up even harder in later books, my current vibes for him are... He's like one of those unintentionally toxic parents who is doing their best most of the time but honestly can't see what exactly is fucked up about their behavior, because THEIR parents were WAY worse and even more abusive, and also general society generally agrees that "not starving your child" / "not beating your child with a belt" / "not causing any physical harm" is the peak of "good" parenting. I would bet that Dooku's expectations for Qui-Gon's skills and behavior as a 12/13-year-old were extremely high.
So, Qui-Gon means well, and is probably internally holding himself up against Dooku and correctly seeing that he is WAY better with kids than Dooku, but unfortunately, Dooku REALLY sucked as a teacher and guardian. (Like, Dooku may have successfully passed on skills, but the whole experience was generally volatile and unpleasant for Qui-Gon.) So "way better than Count Fucking Dooku" still lands us all firmly on: "Oh, shit, Qui-Gon fucking sucks at this, actually."
And Qui-Gon KNOWS he sucks at this! He knows he's not good with Obi-Wan, even if he doesn't fully grip his own position and impact. He's busy risking his own life and nearly dying multiple times fighting pirates and mining overseers right now in this first book, so he doesn't exactly have the time or the tools to fix his shit right now, even if he knew where to get started and actually wanted to rip open those old wounds. (And he does not.)

Anakin Skywalker x Reader: Crabbiness Equals Love
Tumblr media
Prompt: You’re from Earth, He’s from a Galaxy from far away. You’re sort of a normal person, and he’s a Jedi, that’s tasked with bringing you back to the council. You’ve known him for a few months and you’ve both had a rocky relationship, you’re friendly one minute and arguing the next. But what happens when the two of you are finally forced to work together? Things tend to come to light in odd ways…
Enemies + Friends =Love 🫶🏽🥹😊
Fluff this is definitely fluff😊
Yes I gave you knowledge in fighting because let’s face it, ain’t nobody safe out here in these streets. 😩😬
You have some knowledge in technology of the ship, given that you’re an engineer. 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s how I developed the story😩
————————————————
“ Master, we've been stranded out here for two days! Go talk to her.” Ahsoka points out to you, Anakin had his arms crossed, staring off into the distance. Rex tried his best not to laugh, taking it as his cue to visit and speak with Obi Wan.
“ No” Anakin doesn’t budge, instead he sighs a deep sigh.
“Master, can’t you see how hard she’s working over there, tinkering away on the ship. Even R2 is going over there to help her out”Ahsoka tried a different approach, sounds of metal and sparks could be heard, R2 makes his little way across the dirt to get to you.
“ She's fine. She doesn’t need my help.” He continues his long distance staring, his stubbornness at an all time high. Ahsoka groans, throwing her hands up in the air. She turns away from Anakin making her way towards the ship. She could hear you cursing as you were banging on the pieces of the ship. She shook her head figuring she’d have to try to persuade you to speak with him.
“ Y/N?!” She calls out to you.
“ What?!” You replied as you twisted a piece of electrical together.
“What’s going on between the both of you?” Ahsoka lifts her eyebrow up at you, as she peeks into the little hole of which you worked out of.
“ Nothing” You replied, taking to wires and conjoining them, testing out to see if they’d work.
“ Really? Why do I get the feeling it’s not true” Ahsoka says sneakily, trying to get you to explain the situation. Or maybe reveal a detail about the relationship between the two of you.
“ No-Well-No-you know what, I need a power converter. I can’t do this without it, and that means I need to go into the city” You changed the subject avoiding Ahsoka’s statement.
“ Great!-“ Ahsoka smiles “-Anakin will go with you- ANAKIN! You have to go with Y/N to the city!” Ahsoka turns on her heel, making her way out the ship and to her Master. Anakin had moved to stand next to Obi Wan and Rex.
“ No, you go with her” He shakes his head, he refuses to be with you right now.
Obi Wan only smirks before speaking out “ I agree with your padawan, I think you should go with Y/N”
“ I don’t care what my padawan thinks, I’m in charge” He retorts.
“ Yes, while that is true, but I out rank all of you, so you will go with Y/N to the city,” Obi Wan replied as he rested a hand under his chin. You were standing at the end of the ramp. You grit your teeth, clenching your fists. Ahsoka smiles from ear to ear, Rex had to turn away from the scene.
You and Anakin both glared at each other. The word “Fine” left both of your lips roughly, as the irritation builds between the two of you.
“ Get your cloak” Anakin orders.
“ I am getting my cloak-here’s yours asshole” You threw his cloak at his face while you tugged yours on.
Anakin glared at you, catching it with ease shrugging it on. “ What did you just call me?”
“ I called you a-“
“ -Be safe you two! We’ll watch the ship while you’re gone!” Ahsoka interrupted you as she ushered the two of you along. From the looks of it, the two of you walked with a large amount of space between you, neither one of you wanting to be near one another. It was quite amusing to be honest.
Rex shook his head, a smile on his face “ Are you sure you want to send just the two of them? They might end up killing each other.”
“ Captain Rex, the hope is that they won’t kill each other. Maybe by the end of this the two will get along. “ Obi Wan sighs, shaking his head.
————
The two of you neared the city limits, as the two of you were about to enter, Anakin pulled his hood upon his head shielding his face, causing you to do the same. Both of you instinctively inch closer together, as your eyes surveyed the crowd. “ Stick close and don’t touch anything” Anakin whispers to you.
“ Oh come on, what are you, my gatekeeper? It’s not like I planned to touch everything while in the process of running away.” You replied sarcastically, your eyes landed on a building that looked as if it sold parts. That was the first shop you intended to visit, you began to move in that direction, Anakin hot on your heels, his eyes never drifting from the crowd.
“ No but you aren’t a jedi either, so someone has to watch you” He retorts, as he quickly wraps a hand around your bicep, pulling you back into him, to keep the creature walking past you, from crashing into you. His grip on you wasn’t as hard as you’d expect. He held you firmly but not enough to cause bruising. Interesting. You were less timid from the time you were first introduced to this life. By now you were becoming accustomed to it, the creatures, and the planets. The life of the galaxy.
“ Yeah well, I don’t need a babysitter. And who's to say I won’t become one just to spite you.” You yank your arm out of his grasp opening the door, your eyes looking for the section of materials you need.
“ Y/N that’s not how that works-What is your problem?” Anakin asks as he surveys the shop.
“ My problem? I should be asking you that, you're the one who’s got a stick shoved up his ass twenty-four seven.” You had finally found the piece you were looking for, you grabbed it turning to Anakin to show him the piece that you found. He of course had to make sure it was in good shape and condition before purchasing the item.
“ What’s that supposed to mean?” He asks you in confusion.
“ It means that you’re crabby all the time, at least with me. You're not that way with Ahsoka, Obi Wan or even Rex. Or that Senator woman” You take the item off the counter carrying it in your arms, Anakin takes his leftover credits, placing them in his pocket.
“ That ‘senator woman’ has a name, there’s nothing going on between her and I…-I’m not crabby with you all the time..” He tries to defend, as he ushers you outside, he makes sure to place an arm around your waist, keeping you close. He could feel an uneasy disturbance through the force, someone was here, and he could feel their eyes on you both.
“ Really? Cuuzzz it kinda looks like it- Listen all I’m saying is that ever since you and your space warriors came to earth to take me away on your little spaceship. You were fine but then after that two week grace period you’ve been nothing but crabby-hey!” Anakin pulls you into an alleyway behind a bin, his large hand covers, your mouth, your back pressed tightly to his chest, his side pressed against the wall, shielding you from the creatures who stopped at the alleyway.
“ Which way did they go?” One hisses out.
“ I don’t know, I lost them in the alleyway”
“ She’s with a jedi” Another growls.
“ So, it’s just one jedi against the four of us.-” The other voice chuckled darkly. Anakin’s com link blink, a sound emitted from it. You looked up at him as he looked down at you, he let go of your mouth as the two of you rushed to turn it off. Obi Wan’s voice comes through before you both could get to the button.
“ Anakin, where are you two? I do hope that you aren’t fighting. Ahsoka has finished a portion of Y/N’s work we still need that other piece-”
“ Did you hear that? It sounds like we got company” The group inched further into the alleyway.
“ Anakin? Come in, Anakin?” Obi Wan’s voice grew more irritated by the second.
“ Awe man, does that mean we gotta fight the lizard people?” You looked towards Anakin who was shaking his head at your reluctance.
“ Yeah-” His answer was short as he moved you out of the way, he lifted his wrist to his mouth “Obi Wan I’m a little busy right now, we’ll get there as fast as we can-”. Anakin pulled out his lightsaber, igniting it as the group of four closed on you both. You moved off to the side, your eyes landing on a speeder that remained stationed on the side, the owner nowhere in sight. The group grew closer, lifting their weapons up, pointing at the two of you.
“We take them together-Y/N?!” Anakin calls out to you as you take off running. You threw whatever object you found on the ground at one of the lizard guys. Using him as leverage you knocked the weapon out of the other guy's hand, the three of you now engaged in hand to hand combat. Anakin deflects the shots taking down his enemies. He too, is engaged in hand to hand combat, as he easily takes them down. However one of the enemies pressed a button on their wrist signaling for back up, a much larger group of thugs emerged from the opposite end of the alleyway.
“ Shit there’s more?!-“ As you both fought.
“ What did you expect, for there to be less?!” Anakin yells back as he kicks his opponent back.
“ I don’t know, maybe?!-“ You socked your opponent in the face, as he ducked your eyes landed on a speeder across the way,”- Anakin the speeder!” You yelled as you flipped a guy over, rolling yourself over his body, using his weapon to shoot at the other men.
“ I know-Let’s go!” Anakin twirls his lightsaber blocking off the shots, he slices one weapon in half as he force pushes his enemy away. You took off running for the speeder, Anakin following behind you. The two of you weave through the crowd, getting on just as the owner walked out of a nearby shop. The two of you hopped in starting it right away. Anakin drove the speeder while you sat facing the back of the speeder pointing your weapon at the enemies. As they fired at you both, you fired back at them, Anakin swerved through traffic. He makes a hard turn causing you to slide over, losing your shot.
“ Damnit!-” You shouted as you realigned your targets.
Anakin too busy lost in thought he smashes his foot on the break causing you to yet again lose your shot and slam into the dashboard. “ Anakin?!” You glared at him.
“ You think I’m crabby?!” The vehicle completely stopped in the middle of traffic. Anakin turned to look at you.
“ What?!” You replied in disbelief and shock.
“ Do you?” He insisted.
“ Are you kidding me right now?! We are in the middle of a speed chase and you want to talk about being crabby?!-“ Your grabbed your weapon, fixing yourself back into your position as the other speeders got closer. “-Now’s the time to start moving!”
“ I’m finishing the conversation we had earlier! Answer the question!” Anakin was determined.
“ Are you-Fine-Yes I do! Are you happy now? Will you stop arguing with me and drive?!” You started firing, hitting one of the targets causing them to fall off their speeder and crash into a building. You switch targets aiming for another one, you follow it.
“No I’m not crabby! No, I won't drive, not until we sort this out- together!” He crosses his arms.
You looked away from your target glaring at him “So help me-if you don’t start this damn vehicle-ugh fuck it!” You pull back your weapon slamming your foot down on the gas, Anakin momentarily takes his foot off the break, the two of you once again swerving out of traffic. Half of your body rests on top of him as you move through the current of vehicles, you aim to get the hell out of dodge. Anakin switched seats with you, allowing you to take hold of the driver's seat, and him the passenger. A hand that belonged to Anakin as he gripped onto your shirt holding you in place to keep you from falling out. The two of you shifted from side to side from your aggressive turn. The two of you barely make it out of the city, leaving the thugs behind in the dust so to speak.
The heat of your skin pouring through your shirt, it warmed his hand. For a second Anakin thought of what it might feel like to touch your skin. To feel the heat of it against his. The chemistry between you too was undeniable, the level of comfortability has always been there. For Anakin you were the one person he could be himself around. He could be sad, mad, sweet, humorous, annoying, over confident, and boyish. But you, you were honest, sarcastic, you were hilarious, you were kind and charismatic. You were right though, he was being a dick to you, sort of these past few weeks. When he first met you, you were kind and you offered to help where you could and when you could. He liked that about you-there were a lot of things he liked about you-he just wasn’t ready to admit it-not with so many people around…
By the time you reached the ship, you threw your cloak off and to the side of the ship with Anakin hot on your heels. Ooo you were so mad, you could literally murder him, not really but you wanted him to trip and fall on his stupid pretty face. Ugggghhhh. You grabbed the piece that Anakin helped you buy from the shop getting ready to work on it. Ahsoka, and Rex seemed to find a way to make themselves busy. Obi Wan held an amused smile on his face. “ I take it the two of you are still working on some things”
“ Something like that” Anakin shrugs with a smirk on his face as if he had a plan set in motion. A plan that only he wanted to know, Obi wan shakes his head smiling to himself. The two head to the cockpit with Rex following behind. Ahsoka, joins you in finishing your work with the converter, the ship finally starting up allowing you all to leave the planet.
——
You were sitting at the table near the kitchen of the ship, you had a cup of water. Your hair pulled out of its tight hold, allowing it to be in its natural state. You had your hands cupped around the cup itself, you stared down into it. Your mind adrift, your thoughts chaotic, you were perplexed, confused, exhausted and attracted to someone who might be attracted to someone else. Anakin was Anakin, you knew that and you knew the type of person he was. Sure the two of you hadn’t always fought, there were times you guys actually got along but right now he was insufferable. Annoying, he got under your skin on purpose, you just know it.
You rubbed your eyes, heaving a sigh, as if on cue Anakin himself walks into space. As if he had known you’d be thinking about him. You stood up taking your cup with you, you walked to the sink pouring it out and washing before setting it back on the rack. You turned to leave the space but not before Anakin reached a hand out grabbing your arm, causing you to stop in your tracks. “ Hey, hold on” He says softly.
“ Why? So you can irritate me some more, no thanks-“You moved to pull your arm out of his grasp.
“No, but I’m tired of arguing,” He admits.
You lift an eyebrow at him “ Really?”
“ Yes..and I’m sorry.” He says, his face contorting into a softer look.
“ For?” You sighed.
“ For my crabbiness” He couldn’t help but smile.
“Anakin.” You groaned.
“ Y/N” He whispered back, the grin never leaving his face, a chuckle rumbles from his chest.
“ That’s not funny,-” You tell him, a small smile of your own fights it’s way into your face.”-But, apology accepted I guess. I’m sorry for calling you crabby.”
“No need to apologize for it, I was an asshole these past couple weeks..” He looks down at the floor before looking back up to you “-As for the senator, it’s complicated.”
“ You were a pain in my ass…But tell me about your situation maybe I can help” Your hip leaned against the counter, your arms crossed. Your heart hammers in your chest at the same time sinking.
“She’s only a few years older than I am, she’s all I’ve ever known, she’s familiar” His hip against the counter matching your body language, Anakin completely faces you, he’s standing a little closer than he was before but not enough to force you to look up at him.
“But I thought Jedi aren’t allowed to fall in love”Your head tilts slightly to the side as you pondered the thought of it, Anakin tried not to follow your head movement, it was cute, your curiosity.
“ Well attachments are forbidden, possession is forbidden, but compassion is unconditional love- also forbidden-but these things…are crucial to a Jedi’s life” He smiles softly.
You squint your eyes at him “ I don’t-are you sure? Cuz I don’t think that’s-what the Jedi meant when they said forbidden..”
“ Y/N” He huffs.
“ Okay cool we’re just gonna ignore the code got it. So I assume that your friendship between the Senator and you has blossomed into-something more?” You gestured to him with your hand.
“ No, not exactly”
“ No? Wait hold on. You just said she was familiar, I’m lost- then who are you talking about?” Your eyebrows creased together.
“ She is familiar as a friend, someone like Obi Wan or Ashoka. I thought that she would mean more to me but then there was you” He whispered gently, he moved from the counter's edge, stepping closer to you, his hands taking hold of your hips pulling you towards him. Chest to chest his head angles downwards, your head cranked up to look at him.
“ Me?” Your eyebrows shoot upwards in surprise.
“ Yes, you. I can breathe when I’m around you, I can think, I can feel the weight of the order and the galaxy lift off my shoulders. You challenge me, you intrigue me, you guide me, you show me how to be better.” he dipped his head closer to yours, nudging his nose with yours. Your body and mind give you away instantly, melting in his hold, it was something you realized you hadn’t felt in a long time. His touch was intoxicating, and to him you were breathtaking. Such a quick switch of emotions, but he was done pushing you away, and you were done with ignoring how you felt about him.
You whispered, sucking in a breath before releasing it, “ I-You-This-Please tell me this isn’t a joke, cuz that would be really mean.”
“ If I was joking I wouldn’t have confessed the way I did. ” He smiles, one hand lifting up to cup your jaw, his thumb grazing against your cheek, he rubs his nose with yours as tilting his head to the opposite side. Within a second his lips were on yours, your hands grip his clothes, the hand around your waist tucks you further into his body, the hand that held your jaw, his long fingers connecting with the back of your head and hair. The two of you twisted in opposite directions, his lips engulfing yours in such a sweet, passionate languid pace though it quickly turned into a frenzy of rushed kisses. He was practically devouring you and you were fighting to keep up with him. You had to pull back needing air, you shook your eye, you needed to calm down for a second.
Anakin smirks, your eyes searching his face, his hair falling out of place, his lips swollen-“Shiiitttt, you’re dangerous-” You admit your chest heaving up and down, causing him to laugh. His hand slips from your neck and cheek moving to join his other hand around your waist.“-No I am serious, no wonder why so many women, and men fall at your feet” You laughed with him. He buries his head in the crook of your neck. Your arms wrapping around him holding him in place.
“ Mmm I don’t know what you’re talking about-” His lips move against your hot skin as he speaks.
Ahsoka steps through the threshold with a grin of her own “ -I take it all is well?” She asks, her voice startling you both, Anakin releases you, the warmth of him slipping away along with him. You lean with your back against the counter, your hands resting on top of it.
“ What, do you want snips?” He huffs as he stood half way in front of you.
“ Oh you know, just checking up on my Master and friend-” Ahsoka smirks as she lifts an eyebrow between the two of you. “-And to tell you both that we are nearing coruscant. Obi Wan wants you both up front.”
“ Thank you!” You tilt your head to the side to look past Anakin, giving her a sweet smile. Ahsoka nods as she walks away from the door moving towards the cockpit. Anakin turned to you causing you to shrug offering him the same smile. “That’s our cue” you push off the counter heading out to the hall.
Anakin follows behind you as he leans close to your ear “This isn’t over” He whispers to you, he kisses your cheek slipping into the cockpit. You rolled your eyes at him, which only made him grin from ear to ear. The two of you take your seats, Obi Wan and Rex piloting, Ahsoka in front of you.
“ Oh good, the two of you are finally getting along.” Obi Wan states. The two of you looking anywhere but at each other, sharing what could only be described as happy and secretly enjoying the new found relationship.

Deception
Tumblr media
-> anakin skywalker
Summary: [Based on Clone Wars; S4 Ep15] As a Jedi Knight, it’s part of your duty to follow the orders of the Jedi Council, no matter how taxing or dangerous the task. You are given a highly classified mission that not only may end in your death but requires complete secrecy from everyone- Even your lover Anakin Skywalker.
Warnings: ANGST, Death, murder, blood, slight gore, loss of loved ones, grieving process. Probably inaccurate use of the force and force healing
Tumblr media
-> I looked at the message before me, brows furrowed. No, this couldn’t be right… Would the Jedi Council ask this of me? Something so classified sounds like it should be a mission of a Jedi Master, not a knight like me.
Mace Windu’s face was all the answer I needed. His eyes were slits as he looked down at me, face set seriously. His fellow council members had a similar expression.
“It is of the utmost importance no word spoken here leaves this room. Is that understood, [name]?” Windu repeats to me.
I have no choice but to nod my head. I serve the Galactic Republic, I cannot let my relationships meddle in my duties as a Jedi Knight.
I bowed my head, “Yes, masters. It will be done.”
——
“What’s the big rush?” Anakin smirks as I carry myself hastily down the dimly lit alleyway we always take when returning to the Jedi Temple from the port.
Ahsoka trails behind us both, thankfully oblivious to Anakin’s wandering hands. I did not agree to her being here and had suggested she take the shuttle home, knowing it would be safer for the young padawan. But like her master, Ahsoka was stubborn and determined to join us for the meeting I had lied about. I feared for her safety- I hope she will not be there when the time comes.
I glance over at Anakin, forcing a playful smile to adorn my lips as I would have in normal circumstances. “I’m not rushing. I’m just trying to get to the council meeting on time.”
I ignore Anakin as he rolls his eyes. “I can see it now- another boring debate I’ll sleep through,” he sighs, though his eyes linger on me and I can’t help but notice it.
We fell for each other when we were just padawans, and have remained loving by one another’s side for almost four years. While I was fairly good at hiding stolen looks and the brush of our hands, Anakin on the other hand doesn’t seem to understand the strategy of hiding our relationship.
He struggles more than I do with our relationship. It frustrates him so easily when he cannot pull me into a kiss after not seeing me for weeks, or to just wrap his arm around me as we walk as I can tell he wants to do now. I’ve known from the start about Anakin’s unusually strong emotional side for a Jedi. That is what makes me especially nervous for tonight.
“Luckily I’ll have you to keep my company,” Anakin mutters to me in a quiet and husky tone, his hand reaching to touch the crease of my waist.
I shoot him a look of warning, glancing over at Ahsoka who was just a few steps behind him. He’s lucky she happened to be looking away and had not looked too deeply into his words.
“If it's so boring for you, would you rather them call you in to train younglings?” I look smugly over my shoulder to Anakin, who grimaces at my comment while Ahsoka huffs a light laugh.
“I think you would enjoy that, master,” Ahsoka quips sarcastically as she steps to Anakin’s side, and he scuffs and looks away from his apprentice.
“As I thought.”
I try to keep up a high-spirited mood while with Anakin before my time comes to act. I see Anakin smiling, his lips parted to make another smart-assed comment. I give him a cheeky smile. After tonight I won’t see him again for yet another long week. And I know that week will be devastating for him.
He doesn’t hide anything from me. He’s told me how he held his mother in his arms and watched the life drain from her eyes. I’m aware he fears the same fate will reach another of his loved ones. Every time I leave for a battle I promise to him I’ll be safe and will return safely to his arms. Now I have been gagged by the Jedi Council from telling him the truth of what I must do. The guilt is almost unbearable having to keep such a secret from my own lover.
Anakin’s blue eyes search mine, I feel him wield the force to poke into my mind. I raise a brow at his perceptiveness. Does he know? I shake him, cutting off his access to my mind through the force. I don’t like it when he does that and he knows it. His brows furrow as he feels the loss of our connection, but he does not pry at my barrier. I nod to him in a silent already broken promise that we will talk later.
Our unspoken words distracted me so much that I almost wouldn’t have sensed the blaster shot coming toward me if Ahsoka had not warned me.
I roll to the side, taking cover behind the nearby crates. I whip my head around to see Anakin and Ahsoka have done the same, both of their backs pinned to the crates opposite of me. My blood pumps furiously through my veins. I should have let the shot take me down. The first and undeniable worst part of my mission would already be over.
“Where’d that shot come from?” Ahsoka yells, voice riddled with panic as she looks from me to the roof of an apartment building in the distance.
I show no concern as I peek my head over the crates, catching a glimpse of the bright blinding light of the sniper who had tried to kill me just then. Who I should have let kill me. My heart would be pounding in my chest if it weren’t for the drug I had taken before leaving that would suppress my heartbeat.
I shake off any fear. I won’t die today- I’m following my orders. My duty as a Jedi comes before anything else. Anakin will understand that when I return. I glance over at him and Ahsoka behind the crates opposite of me, and single them to follow my lead. Neither of them questioned my plan for us to split up over on the rooftop.
I feel Anakin trying to push into my mind as I roll behind the next set of crates, another blaster shot barely missing me. I feel his anxiousness about the situation, either for me being in danger or his padawan, I’m not sure. I just feel guilty for what I’m about to put him through.
I climb to the rooftop, keeping my cover as I deflect a shot back at the assassin to not rouse suspicion. I see Anakin has done as I asked him, for once in his life, and spot him heading to flank the shooter. Ahsoka jumps from rooftop to rooftop, taking the back approach to the shooter. I realize my time is running out to start this mission.
Anakin races on the rooftop across from me, taking cover at the same time as I do. He catches my eyes, blue eyes blazing across the darkness of the Coruscant alleyway. He’s going to dart around to get the shooter. I know he is.
“He’s behind the building!” Ahsoka coms to both me and Anakin, and I know this is where I must end this chase.
Anakin’s head whips around to the building across from us, eyes narrowed and his hand goes to grip his saber. I suck in a breath, closing my eyes as I prepare for the pain. I pray to the Maker the blaster-proof vest will be enough to save me from the real threat of death.
I block Anakin completely from my mind before stepping into the wide-open space as a red light hits my chest.
“[name]!” I hear Anakin scream as the assassin's blaster finally hits me, unexpectedly knocking me so far back I fall from the edge of the building and into sudden darkness.
Ahsoka’s heart sinks seeing Master [name] fall from the edge as she rounds the corner. She looks up to see her Master immediately trying to follow [name], attempting to run from his cover but having to soon duck as a blaster shot flies past his face.
“I got her! Go!” Ahsoka called out to Anakin, hiding the fear in her voice as she looked up at him.
Anakin’s eyes widen as he looks down at her, and his face seems to drain of color for a moment. He’s afraid. Ahsoka so rarely sees real fear on her master's face. No matter the battle or injury. His demeanor never falters. His expression is always lax and words smooth, even as he’s faced with danger, but in this moment Ahsoka does not see that familiar bravery in her master now. That is what scares her the most.
She doesn’t watch long enough to notice how Anakin hesitates for far too long before he chases whoever shot [name], she has no time to do anything but rush to the Jedi Knight's side. [name]’s body is completely limp in a pile of boxes and trash, left arm twisted unnaturally. There’s no blood, but a black mark is burned into the knight’s white-robed chest.
Ahsoka pulls [name]’s body from the rumble, panicking when she does not awake. She lifts the knight's head into her lap but freezes her finger above [name’s] neck to check for a pulse. She fears she knows the answer. Ahsoka has watched people die. Despite her age, she’s a commander- she sees death every day. But never someone so close to her. Someone she regarded as a friend. As a sister.
“Master?” Ahsoka whispers as she finally puts her fingers to the soft spot on [name]’s neck. She gulps as she feels nothing, then tries the curve of her wrist. Then feels nothing again. She sucks in a breath as her eyes become glassy at the sight.
Ahsoka hears Anakin drop from the roof and run down to her. “How is she?” He pants, wild blue eyes looking down at them.
Ahsoka can barely move her head to look up at him, and when she does, she nearly lets tears fall. She doesn’t know if she has the words to say it. She knows Anakin and [name] were padawans together. She knows how close the pair are. She only pretends to be blind to her master’s deep attachment to the other Jedi knight for his sake. That’s why she can hardly hold it together when he crouches down to see [name] completely unresponsive.
“[name]?” Anakin says, voice rattling.
Ahsoka doesn’t fight him as he takes [name] from her arms and holds her in his. He brushes her hair away from her face to reveal her eyes closed with death. Ahsoka watches her master's eyes fill with grief as he clutches her body to him.
“[name]!” He yells louder this time, desperately shaking her shoulders. He puts his hands over the black mark on her chest and continuously presses down on it in a failed attempt to start back [names] still heart. Ahsoka can’t look anymore. She can’t watch her master hopelessly revive a dead woman.
Ahsoka stands and runs away when Anakin calls out her name again, tears now falling from his eyes as he stares at his lover's dead body.
He had to hand her body off to the authorities when they arrived. He had to explain what happened all while pretending he didn’t just lose his wife.
The hardest challenge of his life wasn’t fighting Count Dooku or leading the largest battalion in the Republic Military- it was returning to the Jedi Temple with nothing to show for his lover's existence but her blood on his robes and her lightsaber.
[name] was supposed to come to his quarters tonight after the meeting. They hadn’t seen each other in two weeks, each being assigned to different planets, but each immediately returned to the other, as always. His fears of her usually vanish once he is reunited with her after their respective missions. He always assumes she’s safe when she comes home. He’d never thought of the possibility of her dying on his watch.
He wished he could have been with her body longer, but as soon as he saw the flash of red and blue lights he had to wipe his tears and place her body on the stretcher and watch as the medics pulled the sheet over her. Once the door to his quarters hissed shut he couldn’t hold it in anymore.
He sat at the edge of the bed, and unclipped [names] lightsaber from his belt. He ran his flesh hand along the customized hilt and ignited the saber of his lover. He could almost picture her beautiful face behind the [color] glow, a smirk on her lips before she jumped into battle. His eyes filled with tears as he un-ignited it and the color vanished.
It felt like when his mother died all over again. Again, he failed to protect someone. Again, someone he loved died in his arms. The only difference was there was no one he could get revenge on for the needless death. The assassin had retreated like a coward after firing the blaster. Anakin’s not even sure if the assassin killed her instantly. Perhaps it had been the fall that took her life.
Anakin’s heart ached when sleeping alone that night. He had been looking forward to feeling the warmth of [name] beside him since he had first been sent to Krios. Now he’ll never feel [name] again. If he had just got to the assassin in time she’d still be here!
Anakin’s eyes burned with tears of fury. He had no idea who the shooter was but he would hunt the bastard down after [name]’s funeral. To hell with the Jedi Code- revenge was the only way Anakin could bring himself and Eria peace!
Anakin felt himself slipping, but he had no motivation to crawl back toward the light when [name] wasn’t there waiting for him.
Eria thought she had severed her connection to Anakin, but when she finally woke up she felt the overwhelming grief and anger of her husband. It was so strong for a moment she confused it as her own. Those emotions were quickly replaced by the ache in her chest and the pain of her defiantly broken arm.
Her tears were gulped down as the medical droid healed her wounds. The droid asked if she was experiencing emotional pain, and she had to lie and say it was just her arm. All she could think about was when she fell. She heard Anakin’s scream and felt his tears on her as she played dead in his arms. It took every part of her being to not open her eyes and apologize for what she had done.
The door to my medical room hissed open, and I glanced over to see Master Windu and Master Yoda in the white light.
“I hope my funeral went well,” I mutter as the door slides shut behind them.
I see Master Windu’s eyes narrow at me as I quickly cover my emotions and dry my tears. I had been specially chosen for this classified mission out of everyone else in the Jedi Order, and I wanted to act professionally with the Council member who picked me. Especially because Master Windu was known for his intense belief in the Code.
“A great performance, your corpse played,” Master Yoda says.
I well as funeral can go, I want to add, but am silence by the medical droid sticking a numbing substance into my arm. I looked at the deep bruise on my twisted arm and for a moment wondered if this would even work. I was sacrificing so much just to learn information that may not even be true. Will Anakin even forgive me once this is all over?
“Will go well, the plan will,” Yoda says, sensing my doubt.
“I fell from the top of a building- It better go well,” I huff in pain and remove the blasterproof vest that saved my life.
“Survived worse, you have,” Yoda comforts, and though I know the Jedi Elder is right, it doesn’t help much when my back has turned into one massive bruise.
“Young Skywalker knows this,” Windu says in a firm voice, arms crossed and eyes looking down at me. As if testing to see my reaction.
I breathed deeply and held strong. I wanted to beg for them to let him assist me in the mission or ask how he handled the funeral, but most of all, I wanted to beg to just see him. But it was vital to the integrity of the mission that no one knows- Especially Anakin, who would flare up in anger if he knew I would be walking into the role of a bounty hunter and disguising myself among them, armed with nothing but a blaster.
I know that Master Windu is testing me with his words. Though he picked me for this, I was quickly made aware of his doubts in me when he had to clarify Anakin to me in private not even Anakin may know.
“I took the vital suppressors, you instructed of me, Master. When Anakin moved my body… I was dead to him. It’s impossible that he knows I’m alive,” I assure both of them, though it was clear in my tone it weighed heavily on me to do so.
Yoda hummed in agreement, “Yes- but sense he will, that something is not right.”
I wanted to add that Anakin will have no contact with me as I understand how important it is he is left out of this, but a Jedi Healer enters the room and bows his head, interrupting the conversation. The healer comes to my side to mend my broken arm, and I nod to the Jedi Masters.
“Anakin’s reaction sold the sniper of my death. What has been done is done, and I will carry out the mission as has been asked of me,” I say to Windu with no hesitation and my head held high. He seems surprised for a moment but turns to leave.
“What’s done is done,” he repeats as the healer snaps my arm back into place.
The healer seems to also understand this meeting should remain in confidence. He bows, then leaves soon after I am healed. Finally alone, I begrudgingly accepted it was time to put on the masked disguise of the assassin I will be taking the place of.
I reach down to remove my lightsaber from my belt but feel nothing of the familiar grip I built myself. I look down to see its holster empty but find for the first time since my fall, I feel an absence of worry. I let a sad smile curve my lips as I realize who took it.
I know it’s safe with Anakin.

My Very Soul (Chapter 29)
Tumblr media
Anakin Skywalker x Jedi!Reader
Link to Chapter 28
Warnings: literally nothing, protective Ani, tiny bit of reader angst (as I have mentioned before--things are getting darker, and also, clone wars plots are not a thing in this)
Summary: As you and Anakin prepare to enter the battle on Felucia, your continuing nightmares complicate your relationship with your Master
Word Count: 3k
"Yuma," Master Windu said in a serious tone, "you have the floor."
You quickly pulled your head up, snapping your mind back into attention. You stood in the middle of the council chambers, atop the High Council Tower, surrounded by the seated council members. You'd rarely been in this room—under normal circumstances, you would have been reverent, and fully focused.
But you felt the worried presences around you now as if your head was in a beehive. The buzz of the different feelings and thoughts had started to drown out the spoken words of the council members. The hum around you had even begun to drown out your own anxiety about why you had been called to this meeting—you were desperate to return to the field, but you had a sneaking suspicion that Master Yuma was not about to let you participate in this new mission without a fight. The hum swelled, as if many people were speaking, rather than one person. You shook your head, trying to block it all out. You knew you needed to focus.
"Thank you," Master Yuma said, giving you a brief and significant look before addressing the other council members. "Though I have already made my thoughts clear on this subject, I find my must repeat myself—while Y/N's force abilities have been an asset to us in the past, it is my position that under the current circumstances, they will be a liability on the battlefield. Given her experience with Count Dooku on Geonosis, I firmly believe that she should not be asked to serve in this war until we are able to make more progress with her...enhanced empathic abilities."
You felt your face flush with anger and defiance, but you worked to control your reaction. You kept your eyes blank, glancing at Yuma's worried face before looking beyond her, out the window toward the teeming city below. You breathed in and out. You wiped yourself of emotion, pulling your Force presence densely and minutely into yourself.
"With all due respect, Yuma," Master Plo Koon replied, looking between you and your former Master, "isn't Y/N the one who saw through Count Dooku's pretenses before the war even started? If we had listened to her warnings—"
"I am not trying to belittle nor diminish my former Padawan's abilities," Master Yuma quipped harshly, cutting off the end of Master Plo's sentence. "I, more than anyone else, understand that her abilities far outstrip many in the order. But it is the nature of her abilities, not their potency, that we must consider now. She is not ready to face the realities of war."
You kept still, allowing yourself to focus outward and take in the presences around you. You didn't turn around to look at them all, but you felt in the minds of the council members that Yuma's words were falling on deaf ears. Your insides grew spiky at the thought—with fear, or with excitement, you did not yet know. You held your breath.
"Your perspective on this is valuable, Yuma," Master Windu replied, his voice full of authority. He turned to Yuma and leaned closer, his tone pacifying. "But we cannot afford to spare either of you any longer. The situation on Felucia has worsened. This could turn the tide of the war altogether." At his words, you felt Yuma's frustration swell, and something else rising in her presence. It felt like electricity, shocking her from her insides. It was panic, you realized.
"Agree with Master Windu on this, I do," Master Yoda stated in his sage voice. "Worthy of our faith, Y/N has proven herself to be." You turned to look at Master Yoda, feeling a burst of affection. Why could Master Yoda find it within himself to have faith in you, when your own Master could not?
"Very well," you heard Yuma reply shortly, and you avoided her eyes, turning instead to look at Obi-Wan, who sat on the other side of the circle, his legs crossed casually.
"Perhaps," Obi-Wan said, meeting your gaze before turning to face Yuma, "Y/N might better serve under your leadership on this mission." You wrinkled your eyebrows, confused. "As Commander," Obi-Wan clarified, "of the 415th." The 415th was Master Yuma's clone battalion.
"We have new battalions that need leadership," Master Windu protested, but Master Yoda held up a small, wrinkly hand.
"Time to train a new battalion, there is not," Master Yoda said. "Right, Obi-Wan is. For the moment, serve as Commander Y/N will."
"If she does well," Obi-Wan said, a twinkle in his eye, "she can advance in rank when we return from Felucia."
"Right," Master Windu agreed, his intimidating stare lingering over you for a moment before he looked down at his holopad. "It's settled, then. Now, we have other business to attend to before we adjourn. Y/N, you are excused."
Tumblr media
"Commander," you whispered angrily, "is the rank of a Padawan."
"At least you're coming with us," Anakin whispered back, giving your hand a small and inconspicuous squeeze. The two of you hurried toward the hangar, your Jedi cloaks sweeping behind you.
"As if I am not the youngest Knight in recent memory," you continued, like he hadn't said anything. Anakin sighed. "As if I am not more skilled than half of the generals in the Army of the Republic."
"You're more skilled than all of the generals," Anakin replied, his face forming a small, teasing smirk. "Present company excluded, of course."
"Then why?" you continued, Anakin's attempts at distracting you failing miserably. "Why does Master Yuma treat me like I'm weak? Like I need protecting?"
Anakin didn't respond. The truth was, you did need protecting. Anakin knew it, and so did Yuma. Your empathy, for all its uses in interrogation, in meditation, in spiritual practice, was dangerous when it came to war. Your tendency to hesitate before the kill, your reluctance to make the difficult choices required of a soldier, your inability to face darksiders without succumbing to their influence—all of these things meant that you were not to be trusted on the battlefield, at least, not on your own. And it was a good thing that you would not be on your own, Anakin reasoned, looking at your face as you huffed along beside him, your angry pout causing a warm and spiraling feeling to rise in his torso. You would be with him, and he could protect you. That was all that mattered.
"Yuma is overreacting," Anakin said quietly as the two of you emerged out of the blast doors and onto the large hangar. This, he thought, was at least a partial truth. "Because she's worried about you." Anakin leaned away from you and took a step to the side, making sure none of the clones that littered the hangar would have any reason to suspect his relationship with you was anything more than professional.
"But you aren't," you said, turning to Anakin and giving him a blazing stare, your eyes piercing. "Right? You have faith that I can do this?" Anakin's insides flipped. How he had assumed he could keep his thoughts to himself around you, after knowing you so long, he didn't know.
"Of course you can do this," Anakin replied swiftly, taking a tentative step toward you and holding your gaze. "I know you can do this." And he wasn't lying, not really. The two of you, together, could most certainly take on any battalion, droid or otherwise.
You stared at Anakin for a brief moment, narrowing your eyes, looking for any sense of falsehood. Anakin gulped. Then the sound of familiar footsteps interrupted your standoff, and he watched you subtly take a step away from him, putting on a casual demeanor.
"Are you ready?" Obi-Wan asked, glancing at Anakin before turning attentively to look down at you, paying you extra attention. You nodded fervently, and Anakin saw a hint of irritation cross your face.
"Where's Yuma?" you asked, keeping this frustration from entering your voice.
"Already aboard, assembling the 415th," Obi-Wan answered, looking more closely at your face, as if to make sure you were okay. You nodded at him, keeping your face stoic, but Anakin noticed a bit too much color in your cheeks. Obi-Wan turned to face him. "Anakin, you'll need to assemble the 501st on the right flank vessel," Obi-Wan instructed, "and then meet us for briefing on the command ship."
"Right," Anakin said, his mind snapping back into leadership mode. It was hard to reconcile these two sides of him—the side he was with you, and the side he was with his clones, his soldiers.
After making sure Rex had his battalion accounted for and in tip top shape according to protocol, Anakin boarded the command ship, walking swiftly through the halls as the vessel took off. As he approached the forward command center, he heard voices.
"...just want to make sure you understand the gravity of the situation," he heard Yuma's voice say.
"I understand, Master," Anakin heard you reply, your voice devoid of color. Anakin pressed the panel on the wall and the door opened. You and Yuma stood on opposite sides of the command deck, all but glaring at one another. Obi-Wan's tired face emerged between you. Next to Obi-Wan stood Marlo, the captain of Yuma's clone force.
"Good, we're all here," Obi-Wan said, nodding to Anakin. "Yuma, if you please."
"Of course," Yuma replied, turning away from you somewhat reluctantly. "As you all know, the situation on Felucia has come to a critical point." Yuma summoned a memory chip from atop the navicomputer with the Force, dexterously catching it between her fingers and sliding it into a spot beneath the command center's holo-deck. A holographic display of the Felucian terrain rose from the deck's consol. "The separatist army has taken control of the eastern front, and with it, they've gained control of the farming villages on this side of the river." Yuma pointed out the snaking form of the body of water in the middle of the hologram. "Our forces have managed to hold the line here, keeping control of the Commerce Guild headquarters, but the droid armies continue to launch attacks on the front." Yuma stood up straight, eyeing her fellows, taking on the posture of General. "If we lose the headquarters, we lose the planet, and with it the Perlemian trade route."
"Once we arrive with our reinforcements, it shouldn't be hard to retake the eastern villages," Anakin said, cocky as ever. Yuma shook her head.
"You mustn't underestimate the jungle environment. We're losing Clones to more than droids on Felucia." Yuma's face was tight.
"What does that mean?" you asked, looking between Yuma and Obi-Wan.
"It means poisonous fauna," Obi-Wan answered, stroking his beard and looking down at the holographic map, deep in thought. "It means disease, and bugs. It means jungle rancors," Obi-Wan looked up at you all somberly. "We'll need to strategize around the limitations of the planet."
"Certainly," Master Yuma agreed. "Now, I suggest all of us retire to get as much sleep as possible during the journey. Rest will be hard to come by once we arrive." You nodded, your eyes glazed over. Anakin took a step closer to you as Obi-Wan turned away to give orders to the pilots. Yuma continued to converse in hushed tones with Marlo, discussing various possible strategic maneuvers.
"Just like old times," Anakin whispered, feigning an unserious tone. You didn't look up. Your eyes were unfocused, clouded. Anakin reached for your arm, giving it a small shake.
"Except for, you know. A galactic war," you responded slowly, finally focusing your eyes in on his face, giving him a small smile.
"That," Anakin said quietly, glancing at Obi-Wan's turned back before reaching up to stroke your cheek, "and, now I can do this." Anakin watched your face relax as he softly pulled his fingers across your jaw, gently placing his thumb on your bottom lip.
"Rest," Anakin heard Master Yuma's voice repeat from behind him, and the two of you quickly stepped away from each other, blushing.
Tumblr media
You were running through a hot, arid desert, your skin scorched from the sun, your face bruised. You screamed into the hot, dry wind—for Anakin, for your Master, for anyone who could come and help you—but you heard no response. The dry air caused you to choke, and you fell down onto the ground...through the ground.
You were topsy turvy, wrong side up. You fell through space until you landed, with a thud, on a snowy planet. Men in unfamiliar white uniforms surrounded you, and you put your hands up, as if to block your face. Where was your lightsaber? You felt your side, but couldn't find your weapon in time—the men started to shoot. You saw the light from the bullets...
You blinked, and suddenly, you were surrounded by lava. Someone was coming, you knew, someone you needed to fear. You looked around, wondering where to hide. You blinked tears out of your eyes. It was all too much, this anger, this hate, this horrible feeling. It felt like everything in you was burning, like everything was wrong, like nothing would ever again be right. You felt a lurch somewhere in your middle.
You blinked again, and suddenly, you were staring into a pair of bright, violet eyes, intent on the kill...
"No!" you screamed, sitting up with a start, flailing your arms in the air, looking around for some weapon, for something with which you could defend yourself. You breathed heavily, gasping, trying to figure out where you were.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to disturb you," you heard a familiar voice say. You blinked again, pushing your sweaty hair away from your face. Your breathing calmed slightly.
You were in your bunk, on the command ship, and Yuma was entering to sit on the bunk across from yours. The dreams that had plagued you for months flashed again through your mind, but you quickly pushed the thoughts out of your head, pulling into yourself, sucking your presence out of the air.
"It's okay," you said, quickly, swinging your legs off the bunk so you could face your former Master. "What is it?" You avoided Yuma's eyes, feeling the worry in her presence fill the cabin.
"I wanted to make sure..." Yuma began, her voice sounding hesitant. You finally looked up to meet her gaze. "I wanted to see if everything was okay," Yuma corrected.
"Everything's fine," you said in a calm voice. You knew you weren't fooling anyone. Your hands were still shaking. You clasped them on your lap, trying to calm yourself.
"I also wanted to make sure you knew," Yuma continued, watching you carefully. "That my reluctance for you to join me and my batallion has nothing to do with my estimation of you, as a fighter or as a Knight." This was a loaded statement. You knew there was more in Yuma's presence behind these words.
"I know," you said, in a mollifying tone. You had to remind yourself to breathe.
"With great power," Yuma said, staring you in the face with her kind eyes, sparkling as they did against the gold rings in her braids, "Often comes a great burden. You are very powerful, Y/N. You thus have a great burden to carry."
"I know," you repeated, your voice shrinking.
"That is why it will be crucial, while in the midst of battle, for you to follow my orders exactly." At these words, you felt a flame spark inside you—the flame of the old resentment, the frustration that had grown in the six months you'd been benched from the field.
"I know," you responded flatly, staring at the wall. Yuma's presence softened.
"Is there anything...you feel the need to confide in me?" Yuma asked quietly, and you felt in her presence that she was dwelling on your nightmares, the visions you'd accidentally shown her in the meditation room, and the visions that she had read from you in your sleep. Yuma's perception through the Force was flawed when compared with your own—she didn't read the fully formed images, thoughts, or feelings from you. Instead she read an echo, as if she were watching your thoughts through muddy glass, or as if she heard the inferior version echoed across a large cave. She didn't know the true essence of what plagued you in your sleep.
For a moment you wanted to confide in her—tell her everything that you'd seen, tell her how deep the fear and terror was in each of your dreams. You wanted to cry into her shoulder and allow her to stroke your hair, the way she used to. You wanted her to tell you everything would be okay. But you held back—you knew that not even Master Yuma could make all of this okay. And you didn't want her to think you weak, not now, when you were finally being allowed to join in combat, against her wishes. You felt yourself close a shell around your vulnerability. You wanted to prove to Yuma that you could be a true soldier.
"No," you said, trying to be convincing, but failing. "I'm ready for this," you added, swallowing as you looked into Yuma's eyes.
"I know you are," Yuma said, smiling warmly at you and patting your head softly as she stood. Behind these words, Yuma's presence was unsure, fearful. You sighed.
"You should get some sleep," you told Yuma, and she nodded, taking this as her cue to leave your quarters. She walked to the door and pressed the panel on the wall.
"Rest well," Yuma said softly, turning back to look at you before exiting into the hallway of the ship.

@blenderbender1811 This post is meant to be a reblog of this bit, but since I'm most likely blocked by the OP, I can't do that, so I have to settle for this instead:
Okay, found the passage in question:
Orbital mirrors rotated, resolving the faint light of Coruscant's sun to erase the stars; fireships crosshatched the sky with contrails of chemical air scrubber, bleaching away the last reminders of the fires of days past; chill remnants of night slid down the High Council Tower of the Jedi Temple; and within the cloistered chamber itself, Obi-Wan was still trying to talk them out of it. "Yes, of course I trust him," he said patiently. "We can always trust Anakin to do what he thinks is right. But we can't trust him to do what he's told. He can't be made to simply obey. Believe me: I've been trying for many years." Conflicting currents of energy swirled and clashed in the Council Chamber. Traditionally, decisions of the Council were reached by quiet, mutual contemplation of the flow of the Force, until all the Council was of a single mind on the matter. But Obi-Wan knew of this tradition only by reputation, from tales in the archives and stories told by Masters whose tenure on the Council predated the return of the Sith. In the all-too-short years since Obi-Wan's own elevation, argument in this Chamber was more the rule than the exception. "An unintentional opportunity, the Chancellor has given us," Yoda said gravely. "A window he has opened into the operations of his office. Fools we would be, to close our eyes." "Then we should use someone else's eyes," Obi-Wan said "Forgive me, Master Yoda, but you just don't know him the way I do. None of you does. He is fiercely loyal, and there is not a gram of deception in him. You've all seen it; it's one of the arguments that some of you, here in this room, have used against elevating him to Master: he lacks true Jedi reserve, that's what you've said. And by that we all mean that he wears his emotions like a HoloNet banner. How can you ask him to lie to a friend—to spy upon him?" "That is why we must call upon a friend to ask him," said Agen Kolar in his gentle Zabrak baritone. "You don't understand. Don't make him choose between me and Palpatine—" "Why not?" asked the holopresence of Plo Koon from the bridge of Courageous, where he directed the Republic Navy strike force against the Separatist choke point in the Ywllandr system. "Do you fear you would lose such a contest?" "You don't know how much Palpatine's friendship has meant to him over the years. You're asking him to use that friendship as a weapon! To stab his friend in the back. Don't you understand what this will cost him, even if Palpatine is entirely innocent? Especially if he's innocent. Their relationship will never be the same—" "And that," Mace Windu said, "may be the best argument in favor of this plan. I have told you all what I have seen of the energy between Skywalker and the Supreme Chancellor. Anything that might distance young Skywalker from Palpatine's influence is worth the attempt." Obi-Wan didn't need to reach into the Force to know that he would lose this argument. He inclined his head. "I will, of course, abide by the ruling of this Council." "Doubt of that, none of us has." Yoda turned his green gaze on the other councilors. "But if to be done this is, decide we must how best to use him."
And, that's PRECISELY what I described happened. The bolded bit is my emphasis reinforcing my point.

Hello dear obikins, and welcome to our third day of submissions for our second deadline!
We a nice little batch for you on our ao3 collection today, so feast on these wonderful creations. Don’t forget to leave kudos and comments to show the authors your appreciation!
twitter thread here.
Ama'ya's Dance by Anonymous
Jedi Dragonrider Anakin Skywalker never expected his Dragon would rise during a planetary battle of all places. Or that his Master’s would answer her call. With the sacred bond between Dragon and Rider extending to shared mating dances, Anakin and Obi-Wan are repeatedly forced to confront the ways their Master-Padawan relationship has changed since Anakin was knighted.
Home by Anonymous
Fleeing a dark past, single omega parent Anakin Skywalker moves back to Coruscant in the hopes of giving his young family a fresh start. Alpha Obi-Wan Kenobi has just returned to teaching his kindergarten class after a whirlwind year abroad that ended in disaster. A second chance at love was something neither of them expected.
My Son; My light by Anonymous
Prompt fill! Single father Obi-wan has spent the past 17 years making sure his beloved boy is raised happy and though they’ve struggled a bit making ends meet when Anakin was younger, Obi-wan always tried his best to make sure he could give everything he could to Anakin. Nowadays, his baby is nearly all grown up and getting offers from universities all across the country, and he’s not feeling ready for the empty nest. To his surprise, his boy doesn’t want to leave his daddy, ever, Anakin decides to seduce the only man who’s ever made him happy into his childhood bed.
Too Hot To Handle by Anonymous
Obi-Wan and Anakin are in a tight spot. It's even worse when Anakin suddenly presents as an omega.
Lace by Anonymous
When Obi-Wan and Anakin are sent undercover to a high-end slave auction for a vital mission, Obi-Wan had thought it would be a straightforward affair. He hadn't counted on the lingerie.
and we have an update!
Chapter 4 of Eight of Cups is up!
Anakin’s knighting ceremony is canceled. Somehow, Qui-Gon Jinn has joined the land of the living again, and the Council is too busy figuring out what to do. Washing their hands off the matter, the Council decides to make Qui-Gon Anakin’s and Obi-Wan’s problem. For Anakin, this is a dream come true (minus the mishap with his knighting). He has always wanted Qui-Gon as his Master. Unlike Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon would understand him. This is his chance to experience what having Qui-Gon as sort-of-Master would be like. The answer is as surprising as it’s disappointing. It sucks a lot. Rather than understanding, Qui-Gon misunderstands everything. Half the (disparaging) stuff Qui-Gon says about Obi-Wan flies over his head, too, but Anakin’s convinced Qui-Gon’s trying to drive a wedge between Obi-Wan and him. So, on second thought, Anakin prefers to remain Obi-Wan’s Padawan. Really, there’s no need to reschedule his knighting ceremony.

watching the clone wars and thinking about The Logistical Problem of Barriss Offee's appearance in both Attack of the Clones and in The Clone Wars. and the ways you can solve or reconcile it as such.
She's at the first battle of Geonosis, presumably with her master, Luminara, and she's not the only padawan there with their master. presumably they only brought older, experienced padawans with them—ones nearly ready to be knighted. but when we next see her, in the TV show, she's still a padawan. they knighted anakin "full of emotions and attachments and pretty clearly not ready" skywalker before they knighted her. there's a few watsonian ways that could shake out.
absurd option: barriss experiences some kind of age regression between the very start of the war, and the middle of it where we see her again. sith artifact, separatist weapon, weird force squall erupting right beneath her, whatever. no one ever talks about it because, well, it's sort of rude to bring up. plus, barriss at any age would probably rather die than admit she's disquieted by the loss of several years of her life and self. but it would explain why she isn't knighted when they're knighting pretty much everyone.
it would also be another reason added to the pile explaining why she sort of had a breakdown before the war ends. one day you go to sleep, and the next you wake up somewhere you don't reecognize, surrounded by soldiers and war, and your master is telling you, "the last thing you remember was three years ago. get up, we have work to do." that'd knock anyone off balance
prodigy option: which padawans would you bring to a giant battle on an enemy planet? the older ones, sure, but more importantly: the ones who know how to fight. the ones who are good at it, who have a knack for it. the idea that barriss offee is too young to be knighted before the war is over, but too good with a blade to leave behind when they need their best? scintillating. tell me more.
tell me about the apprentice to a master diplomat with a level head, a sweet young girl with impeccable manners—and an uncanny and incongruous talent for defeating her opponents in spars and cutting down her enemies in the field. who even at, what, 15? moves so efficiently and purposefully through a conflict she dances. who the temple battlemaster praises as one of the incomparables of her generation.
talk to me about how the order decides to make use of her warrior's body without realizing she, as a middling-aged teen, doesn't have a warrior's mind. making use of it too young and too much and too long for her to bear, until she eventually snaps. radicalizes. decides to fight the violence that's killing her the only way she's learned how: with more violence.
interference from on high option: i'm frankly using anakin as a yardstick here, but maybe he shouldn't be. there's also the chance that she's not even that much younger than anakin, but the council is much less willing to interfere with any other padawan, in any other master-padawan relationship. And most other teenagers aren't supposed to be knighted.
So Anakin and Barriss are peers, but Luminara hasn't had the council breathing down her neck and interfering the way Obi-Wan clearly has. Anakin gets knighted, and it strikes Barriss as odd. Though she would never presume to say it, he clearly lacks necessary control over his emotions, and a certain wisdom and self-mastery Barriss thought was necessary to become a Jedi Knight. But the council has knighted him, so clearly he must be a jedi knight, and have the necessary qualities as such.
And though Barriss would never presume to ask Luminara, Luminara can see her almost-side-eye, her calculation, and wants to stop it before it turns into comparison. "Knighting a padawan before they are ready is often the result when those outside an apprenticeship make such decisions as should be left to those within it."
red flags option: or perhaps, after surviving the battle of geonosis, and being somewhat more outwardly stable than skywalker; being the picture perfect image of a dutiful jedi; the council pushes for Barriss to be knighted at the start of the war, or soon after—and Luminara says no. Luminara says she's not ready.
And when they push back, Luminara goes so far as to warn them that she won't be overruled on or convinced to let go of her misgivings about, her own padawan (the was you have convinced and overruled some jedi i could mention, is what she doesn't say, but she's very much side-eyeing everyone else for that.). Barriss isn't ready, even if her peers are. Luminara can sense it.
Perhaps, if the galaxy was not at war, Barriss would be ready. But the war, the violence...it unsettles her. Disquiets her mind, in a way a jedi knight should not be disquieted, in Luminara's opinion. She waits, she supports, she guides Barriss with a firm hand, but that unsettled undercurrent never goes away.
In fact, Barriss, over the course of the war, becomes somehow less ready to be knighted than she was at the start of it. There's a brittleness to her that Luminara can sense, for all that it never reaches the surface. It goes on long enough that Luminara becomes resigned to the idea she and her apprentice will remain stuck in this holding pattern until the war is ended.
Perhaps Barris will finally be knighted once this war is over, Luminara mulls over, as she leaves Barris behind on Coruscant so she re-center herself for the battles to come. Surely it can't be long now. Surely, I can see the galaxy to peace for the sake of my padawan.
Luminara knew she wasn't ready to become a Jedi Knight. but she never expected....never saw....
How could she not have seen?

The violence ask game:
1 (besides characters named Scott)
8
24
1. the character everyone gets wrong
Cruel Caveat: besides characters named Scott
I just want to point out how mean that stipulation was before I begin, but in the same breath, it does challenge me because my Scotts (McCall & Summers) are such tempting, low-hanging fruit.
I've been on a Star Wars kick lately, and so I'm going to talk about Mace Windu.
Everyone (general) points to Mace and gets upset with him because he didn't grant Anakin the rank of Jedi Master or because in the final episodes of The Clone Wars, he dismissed Ahsoka by calling her "citizen".
Mace Windu was not an unfeeling robot. He was a human being who felt love and anger and fear, just like any other sentient being. But, as a Jedi Master, he learned not to be ruled by said emotions. It's especially frustrating because if these people would actually watch the movies or the show, or read the comics, or generally just engage with the media they're complaining about, it does disprove the notion that Mace was a stone-hearted ass. In fact, it was Mace who, along with the rest of the council, agreed to train Anakin, with Yoda being the lone holdout in the end. It was Mace who encouraged Obi-Wan to have faith in his padawan in AotC. It was Mace who told Anakin to sit the fight with Palpatine out because he recognized how emotionally conflicted Skywalker was about potentially fighting a mentor-figure.
I'm actually rereading Shatterpoint, which is, in my opinion, one of the best Star Wars novels ever written. It's entirely focused on Mace Windu and his complicated relationship with the Dark Side and his love for his padawan, Depa Billaba. I'd highly recommend reading it.
Another thing about Mace that I delight in pointing out is that he was basically the head honcho for the Jedi Order. Everyone always points to Master Yoda because he was given the rank of Grandmaster, which is really just a title bequeathed to the "oldest and wisest" of the Jedi. The true authority of the Order was the High Council, which was led by the Master of the Order. That was Mace... until the Clone Wars broke out and he relinquished the title to Yoda. But until then, he was the guy in charge, and I love that for him.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Let's keep on the Star Wars topic today.
The Jedi did not kidnap babies! They are not emotionless droids. They were not hypocrites for joining in the Clone Wars. And they did not enslave the Clones.
I could go on and on here, but I shouldn't need to.
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
Racism.
I was going to put down a specific ship that always seems to draw in people whenever you criticize it. Or even just me posting about how I like a certain character attracts said character's most ardent haters who then proceed to try and shout you down. But at the end of the day, the racism within fandom is always its biggest problem (followed closely by its misogyny and homo/transphobia), and any time anyone attempts to tackle the subject, it just makes the most for the most vile discourse.
Because people will go out of their way to tell you how they're not racist, they just only seem to hate the black and brown characters because "they're not that interesting" or "they're badly written". And that second one never seems to be a problem for them, because they can take the most boring white character ever and make a biblical epic to flesh them out, but the same is never even attempted for characters of color. Instead, they rely on racist stereotypes and tropes.
I remember back in 2020, when I received an ask about John Boyega's comments about how his character (Finn) was treated in the Star Wars sequels. I pointed out the similarities between how he was treated by the Reylo-shippers and how Tyler Posey was treated by the Sterek-shippers, and even though I tagged it correctly, people lost their freaking minds. How dare I call either ship racist, even though both ships were rooted in racism and violence.
Especially on here, where anonymity still reigns, and everyone talks about how liberal and progressive the people on here are, people were very upset that I would point that out. People did not like that, even though I didn't tag anyone or mention anyone specific.

✴️ JEDI STORY ✴️
Legend 💫
🟣 JAINA SOLO FEL 🟣
Fanart ⚠️
Jaina Solo Fel was a Human female Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order, a member of the New Jedi High Council, the wife of Jagged Fel, the twin sister of Jacen Solo and the older sister of Anakin Solo.
Born to Han and Leia Organa Solo, Jaina inherited her father's mechanical aptitude and her mother's Force sensitivity; resulting in her eventual training at the Jedi Praxeum. During her time there as a youth, she had many adventures, including helping to thwart the Second Imperium, where she helped Zekk abandon the dark side of the Force and join the ranks of the Jedi.
When the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, Jaina joined the New Republic military and distinguished herself as a Rogue Squadron pilot. She was constantly on the front lines of battle during the Yuuzhan Vong War, earning the title of Sword of the Jedi from her uncle, Luke Skywalker, and becoming known as an avatar of the Trickster Goddess Yun-Harla to the Yuuzhan Vong.
During the war, Jaina also became romantically involved with fellow pilot Jagged Fel. However, the death of her brother, Anakin caused Jaina to walk dangerously close to the dark side. She was later redeemed with the aid of Kyp Durron. As the war waged on, Jaina discovered a way for the reformed Galactic Alliance to use Yuuzhan Vong warships and biots to their advantage, and also personally slew Warmaster Tsavong Lah in the Battle of Ebaq. Solo fought in many of the war's battles, ultimately participating in its conclusion. Jaina, as a survivor of the Mission to Myrkr, later became Joined into the Killik community, and was involved in the subsequent Dark Nest Crisis and Swarm War on the side of the Killiks against the Chiss, which strained her relationship with Jagged Fel.
In 40 ABY, Jaina assumed control of Hardpoint Squadron and participated in the Battle of Tralus, siding with the Galactic Alliance. Afterward, she and her brother Jacen commanded Rogue Squadron during the Blockade of Corellia. The resulting crisis; resulted in a split between her and Jacen; due to his increasingly aggressive actions, though she remained active in the Jedi Order. Jaina would later be paired up with Jagged Fel and Zekk on a mission to hunt down the renegade Dark Jedi Alema Rar. The death of her aunt, Mara Jade Skywalker and the dark deeds of her brother only encouraged her to find a way to stop Jacen; who had fallen to the dark side and she began seeking the means to do so through training with her father's ex-arch-enemy, Mandalore Boba Fett. She later killed her twin brother, now the Sith Lord Darth Caedus, in a lightsaber duel aboard the Star Destroyer Anakin Solo.
Following Jaina's brother's death, she remained an active member of the New Jedi Order. As; such when Chief of State Natasi Daala exiled her uncle, Luke Skywalker, from the New Jedi Order as the beginning of a bid to take control of the Jedi, Jaina created a covert group, Darkmeld, as a means of secretly undermining Daala's efforts. Daala's increasing extremism prompted the New Jedi Order to lead a coup to remove Daala from power.
Following that, Jaina joined her uncle in fighting against both an emerging Sith threat and a dark side entity known as Abeloth. When the Sith and Abeloth took control of the government on Coruscant, Jaina joined her uncle and several of the other Jedi in an infiltration and surprise assault on the occupiers. Jaina was confirmed as a Jedi Master by her uncle during this struggle. Following the destruction of Abeloth and the end of the Sith threat, Jaina married Jagged Fel; who she had reconnected with during the Second Galactic Civil. ⭕

The dark lord sneers contemptuously. "Oh, do go on, young Skywalker. Your father will strike you down before -"
"Hey, sis? Do you copy?" Luke speaks into the comlink built into his hand, grinning like a crazed tooka. "I'm not going to kill Palps, I'm going to arrest him. You want in on this?"
Vader manages to prop himself up on one elbow, his breathing harsh and ragged. "Leia...? coming here?"
A small storm blasts through the doors of the throne room. All three men duck, but only one isn't cringing when he does.
"YOU MURDEROUS, POMPOUS SON-OF-A-KRIFF-SUCKING-WOMP RAT," her voice is at a volume the engines of a Star Destroyer rarely achieve, and Palpatine winces involuntarily as her rant continues. "YOU HAD MY MOTHER KILLED JUST TO MAKE MY FATHER YOUR SLAVE, YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET EVERY DAMN MISDEED AND MISSTEP YOU'VE EVER MADE IN YOUR ENTIRE EXISTENCE, AND YOUR MASTER IS GOING TO WISH HE'D THROWN HIS OWN ASS INTO A BLACK HOLE BY THE TIME I'M DONE WITH YOU, YOU MISERABLE TRAITOR!"
Luke has discreetly gone to Vader - Anakin's side, helping him sit up. "Come on, Ipu. Let's get you to the shuttle before we blow this place, hm?"
Anakin is fixated on Leia, the pride and love he felt for his wife now transferred to the daughter he never knew he had, the one who reminds him so much of his beloved Padme. He struggles to his feet, with Luke helping him, and manages to wheeze out, "my son, could - could we stay to watch this? She'll need help, the entire Jedi Council -"
"Was nowhere near as terrifying as Her Highness when she gets going," Luke chuckles. "The only one needing help is going to be the Emperor."
A sudden burst of Forcelight fills the throne room, and Palpatine gives a strangled cough before being entirely cocooned in in a web made of pure Force energy, and also, Anakin suspects, a good deal of righteous rage. And spite.
Much to the surprise of both Jedi, she then stomps up to the throne and switches on the communicator. "All Imperial forces, stand down! This is your EMPRESS speaking, and you are ordered to stand down and surrender!"
"Ah, Leia...?" Luke starts to question her, but she holds up one finger to still him, opening up all the comm channels.
"EVERYONE."
Her voice rings through the comms, on every ship, in every helmet, in space as well as on Endor. Rebels and Imperials stop fighting, the power in that voice enough to bring a planet to a halt in it's orbit.
"I speak to you as your leader, as your Empress, and most importantly, as one who has worked to restore the Republic. I have Sheev Palpatine under arrest. Due to my relationship with his second in command, and my training, I will be taking up the mantle as Empress, and will do my best to revive the Senate so I can return the galaxy to the rule of law instead of the rule of tyranny and brutality.
"All Imperial troops, surrender. Those who wish to work towards peace and rebuilding the Republic will be welcome. Those who don't -" the tone of her voice became something that gave Yoda and Obi Wan cold shivers, which was especially creepy since they were already dead. The live people hearing it felt it even worse. " - those who don't will join their Emperor. At my earliest convenience."
She took in a deep breath, and in a voice full of joy and triumph shouted out "Long live the Alliance!"
Leia closed the comm channels and hopped off the throne, looking up at Anakin. "I don't like you at all," she informed him. "You tortured me, and Han, and you murdered thousands of beings. Luke is forgiving, but I'm not. You're alive because he still wants to have a father. As far as I'm concerned, you're the sperm donor. My parents died on Alderaan."
Then she threw her arms around Luke in a fierce hug, one that took his breath away. "You idealistic asshole, you'll be the death of me someday! Love you, bro."
Luke returned the hug, grateful that she wasn't pissed at HIM. "Love you too, sis. What are we going to do next?"
Her laugh rang through the room like a galaxy sized windchime. "Next, we fix it all!"
“If you kill me you will be just as bad as me” the dark lord said to the hero preparing to strike them down. The hero pauses, puts down their weapon and says “You’re right, I won’t kill you. But you are going to wish I did very soon.”

Luvv you , have a nice day xoxo
-🐦Anon
OMG ANOTHER GREAT IDEA FOR CROSSOVER-
i’ll give you the prettiest flower~!
Elysia!reader x yandere!star wars character (HC)
warning : typos, bad grammar
attention! please do not try to repost my works, i only post my works on tumblr, if anyone see someone stole my works please inform me through the comments, tag me in the works, or message me!
Anakin Skywalker
ayo-
i would say these two is the chaotic together
Anakin is having a high-level of jealousy and you’re the friendly person that like to hangout with everyone
you two good together, its just the jealousy that makes your relationship weird
“You flirt with how many people today?”
“Flirt~? i’m just a sweet talking, and oh! only to Senator Amidala and Rex today!”
“that’s a new record, i hope tomorrow you’ll do none- thank lord the mercy”
because we talking about yandere, i think he ever locked you up once..
no- twice...
three times?
but all of that attempts of him locking you up, you managed to escape easily and without even thinking that he’s locking you up.
“Where did you go?”
“The council, Senator’s room, Visiting the padawans, and Master Kenobi’s room!”
“alright that seems like a nice place to go- wait- MASTER’S ROOM? WHAT FOR?”
“giving flowers~!”
“You giving flowers to many people but me? do you not love me anymore?”
“*gasp* Who said that? oh my sweety baby cheeks my lovey dovey, i prepare you something more than just flowers just for you!”
“really?”
“Yeah~! come on walk with me! i’ll show them to you!”
honestly you’re just taking him around the Jedi Temple and then kiss him sweetly in the quiet place and the last, run!
but you guys a powerful couple, you good at negotiation, distracting and also you’re strong in force + able to masters many forms of lightsaber fight etc, while he’s a good pilot, strong, tall, dominating, and plus you both good at making sudden plan or well-prepared plan
noice
so when you’re gone somewhere or he lost you he’s losing his patience
he kill anybody that he suspects while he’s searching for you
but after all he does, he can’t find you, so he’s badly coming back at his place
“GUYS WE LOSE Y/N’
“CHECK, CHECK THE TRASH COMPACTOR”
“OH KRIFF, WHERE IS SHE?”
but then he saw you, sitting with a tea and wrapping yourself with a blanket, he thought he’s hallucinating
“Welcome home Ani! where have you been? i really miss you... :(”
“Is it really you? i should be the one asking where have you been, im worried sick about you..!!”
Obi-wan Kenobi
he’s the protective yandere
he can’t really like giving you limit about your friendship and locking you up or such, so he’ll just be very protective, so he’s watching you 24/7
he feels relieve when you don’t feel bothered by his appearance most of the time, making sure you’re okay
“You know, Obi, you are a true gentlemen, you guard and making me safe, thankyou for your love, i love it so much~”
you often find him looking out for you 24/7 when he’s free, even though he try to be sneaky
“No Y/N don’t approach him, i have a bad feeling abut him”
“Remember if someone asking you to stay longer with them, tell them you have a husband” -Obi
“But i don’t have a husband?? we haven’t married ye.. you want us to married theenn~?”
if he’s jealous, he’ll just told himself that ‘come on, Y/N does this everyday’
but if you talking buddy acts to far, he’ll pulling your hand, and then “alright that’s it, you’re coming with me”
even though he’s watching you close, he sometimes just lose you, stupid maybe, but that’s what happened..
“Y/N? where are you? Y/N??”
he puts 100% effort on finding you, telling his clones, telling the other masters, but a bit with acting spice, they didn’t think that he search for you because he’s scared of losing you, just worried for general like losing a not-so-close friend.
and then in the middle of his searching, Cody carrying you, who’s holding a bucket of crown flowers
“Surpriseee, seems that you miss me, doesn’t it master Kenobi?”
this whole time you’re just wandering from place to another place, gathering everything that you catch your eyes on.
when you’re in private, he’ll scold you, but he manages to give you food, sweet drinks and dessert while scolding you, so you eat and listen.
“can you please stop hiding and roaming around the way you likes? i can’t always protect you from somebody who knows!”
but as a form of apologies, you place a kiss in his cheek and a warm tight hug, then let out a giggle
“I’m happy that you’re worried over me, such a gentlemen~”
“I love you, please don’t make me worried again, okay love?”
“Okie dokie!”
Padme Amidala
oh god the lovey dovey couple-
she’s a sweetheart, you’re a sweetheart
if you’re both going as a couple in a formal party, or even a normal party, everybody would say that you both are a happy, full of glitter, romance, fluff couple
y’all are the sweetest couple people could ever see
anything happens to you, she doesn’t insist on releasing her full power to solve it ngl
loves loves loves when you both having a skincare routine or a make up-ing session before both of you start your day
gifting is her way to show her love when she’s not able to show up and cuddles then sharing warmth, so she pick the best jewelry, dress, flower, accessory for you when she has to work most of the day
and every single Padme’s gift that you accept, you’ll wear it when you both have a chance to spend time together
when you’re gone, she’s surprisingly handle it well
connection and money baby
the longest record of her effort finding you that goes missing is 12 hours and 30 minutes
well she remembered it lmao
if you sweet talking or even flirt with your friend or sometimes stranger, she wouldn’t mind
that’s you being you anyway, so no problem she guess
but if somebody flirt with you... alright it depends actually
if you flirt back = soon to be friends
if you’re silent = mayday mayday, red flag, you’re uncomfortable or worst case, you start to like them
SHE KEPT YOU AWAY LMAO
“Alright here’s the plan, stop meeting them ever again”
“why?”
“They play with at least one woman every day” she could be lying she could tell the truth
“Oh they’re bad... thankyou dear, i’ll take a distance from now on!”
Luke Skywalker
damn this boy is the protective and the paranoid yandere
“No don’t talk to them”
“stay here”
“Y/N, stay right here and wait for me, okay?”
“no don’t go there!”
“You can’t do that!?”
at first, he lets you to have fun with your friends
but the way you’re having fun is your friend makes him reconsider his decision
but he doesn’t want to put a limits on your life, he doesn’t want you to be sad
so he ask Leia, Han, or everyone in the rebellion to keep an eye on her or sumn
“we could watch after her, we promise”
well they lose you anyway
“kriff Luke, we lost her!”
“HOW!?”
well of course he check on the whole place at the base, so does with everybody, and then if he hasn’t found you, he’ll grab his helmet and then using his x-wing to search for you in the whole planet
i swear he drop at least one tear when he’s searching for you
but guess what?
you’re at the back area of the base
how tf nobody find you in there?
feeding some animals...
okay he forgive you because you look pretty and cute while feeding them
but he will not let you go for the next 24 hours
“i swear you scared me, what if you’re not in the base? what if you’re being kidnapped by the empire and i late to save you? what if you’re being hunted by bounty hunter? oh i can’t lose you you know it!”
“hehe sorry, but at least i’m safe, and that’s all that matters right now right?”

Anakin Assists the Jedi Council While On Medical Leave
AU brainstormed primarily by @atagotiak, @gelpenss, and myself.
Basically, a fix-it based in Anakin getting a peek into the daily life on the Council early, and accidentally Figuring Some Shit Out along the way, mostly because Palps Fucks Up.
So, Anakin gets injured in a way that limits him to Coruscant for a few weeks. He can still walk and talk, but he can't fight. The specific injury doesn't matter, just this:
Anakin runs errands on behalf of the council and sits in on meetings to take minutes as a "you're on medical leave but we need all hands on deck, congrats you get to be the secretary until we can send you on stabbing missions again" thing.
Also, there just aren't a whole lot of people with Anakin's clearance level. They had to send out Stass Allie to handle the mission that was originally next on Anakin's roster, and Anakin's the most convenient person to substitute into her position.
He's not super happy about this but he can more or less understand the point of it. Given that he gets antsy about needing to fight almost immediately, he can acknowledge the worth of having something useful to do, if only as the person who's writing down who says what and making sure everyone has the right file on hand.
(Besides, Obi-Wan jokes in a way that Anakin thinks might be encouraging, this is good practice if Anakin ever wants to be on the High Council himself!)
(This is a very helpful conversation.)
BASICALLY, Anakin is resigned to this but agrees because "Usually we have Master Allie handle this but we need her running that mission that was originally set for the 501st, so you get to fill in for her until you can switch back. Think of it as training for eventual mastery or admin or--listen, we're just really stretched thin."
Here's the key thing, though: Anakin isn't supposed to leave the Temple, for medical reasons, so Palpatine doesn't know Anakin is sitting in on Council meetings. They haven't met up since Anakin's last surgery, and because [muffled hand-wave reason] he didn't find out another way, like Anakin comming him or the Council giving him the heads-up about the change in attendance.
It's fine. He's just taking notes and doing preparatory research, he has the clearance, the Chancellor likes him anyway. Hell, they'd have had someone's Padawan doing this, before the war increased the necessary clearance levels. They'll toss in a quick message in the brief they send to Palps that he never reads anyway, and that's really all they need to do. Skywalker's getting some rounded experience and this way the medics won't be freaking out about him stressing his heart after getting electrocuted by trying to spar too early.
Palpatine doesn't talk directly to the Council, he just sends a recording the first time Anakin is there. It's a bit weird, but nothing goes wrong. Anakin's off-screen from whatever device they use to send a response, since he's not technically a member, just assisting for a bit on the part of Master Allie's duties that he's actually allowed to touch (and not the bits that are getting added to Mace, Plo, and Shaak's stuff).
The first four or so meetings are like that. Anakin starts having a bit of sympathy for the Council as he sees how many things they want to do that are hampered by the need for Senatorial approval, things that he would also want to do and didn't think required this much red tape.
About a week in, still mostly recordings with Anakin just sitting on the side playing paralegal, the wheel of fortune turns a few pegs.
Palpatine hands over a an order on the range of injury that a soldier should be treated for, "to ensure that republic resources aren't being wasted on clones that, while expensive, would actually be cheaper to replace than repair."
Oh, he dresses it up in prettier language than that. Anakin doesn't process it as such first.
The Chancellor manages to couch his phrasing in "prioritizing resources for taxpaying republic citizens and employees of the GAR," which... well.
The natborn commissioned officers pay taxes. The Jedi are employees. The clones are neither, because they're slaves.
Probably he frames it as the employees thing, very much the kinda language that sounds halfway ok unless you’re fluent in political bullshit.
And Anakin is really confused at first about why the council is upset by the order because, okay, he would PREFER to be able to use medical supplies on refugees when possible, but he understands prioritizing the soldiers?
He just looks up, totally lost, when someone groans and goes, "That's the third time this year, is he trying to get us all killed?"
And it vibes as such a genuine, aggrieved, sad reaction that Anakin is completely blindsided because it's not the sarcastic, petty resentment he kind of expected? It's just... desperate depression.
And someone gently has to explain that this is the third time they've had resources restricted to only GAR employees and that it's a polite way of saying "prioritize natborn officers, stop wasting resources on clones, we can replace them easier."
Or maybe he doesn't ask, because he's just there to take notes, not argue, and he can see the masters drawing up a response that amounts to "We would like to remind you that our soldiers do not fall into that classification, and to limit their access to our medical supplies is liable to cause a loss of life that we find unreasonably high. Please see the annotations attached to adjust wording so that the clones may receive the same level of care."
Anakin's internally just like "Yeah, that's phrased nice and addresses the main problem, Palpatine will obviously agree and change it!"
And then he comes in the next day and the response comes in and it's just dripping condescension about considering the clones actual people.
"This is why we can't use the bacta tanks on clones anymore, just the patches. We could use them at first, we had a few of the CCs get through fatal injuries with them, but they cut that off and said we could only use the tanks on Jedi and non-clone officers a few months ago. The Banking Clans keep tightening their belts on the army, and the Chancellor insists we put citizens first, and the clones aren't citizens. We've been arguing back as much as we can, but he keeps going on about the economy and we can't... we just can't, Skywalker. We're trying to save as many of our men as we can, but..."
Something like "Allocation of resources reiterated, the Kaminoans have assured the senate that the Jedi are far from exhausting the resources ordered."
And Anakin's like. He can't blame the council for lying about Palpatine's past or future actions. He just saw Palpatine's actions. Those actions were to order people under his control to throw away lives he saw as replaceable commodities.
These are his friends' lives.
His soldiers are being thrown away by a man in a tower that he trusted.
And then that man has the gall to suggest it's the council's fault.
Palpatine is good at what he does, especially in public, he dresses it up in flowery language and everything, but Anakin's just like "Those are my FRIENDS and also this is??? How slavers talked about their property on Tatooine???? FRIENDPATINE, WHAT THE FUCK."
Anakin can be passive aggressive sometimes as well as outright aggressive. So if he brings up the guidelines and why they make him upset in general terms, and Palpatine says something about how he’s sad the council doesn’t care about the clones...
Anakin, internally, having just watched the council scramble to save as many clones as possible within the guidelines that Palps handed down: Uh-huh.
(Anakin is just the gay horror teeth gif from queer eye.)
Tumblr media
Just. “Yeah, funny you say that, Palpatine! Because as I remember, you told the council not to waste more resources than necessary while Mace Windu was arguing to expand the treatment range!”
Palps doesn't even have time to salvage the situation or attack Anakin because Anakin just bulldoze rants for fifteen minutes and then storms out.
Anakin... maybe does a little treason and gets a copy of the orders so he can ask Padme "Hey, can you explain the politics of this?" and doesn't tell her who wrote it so she isn't biased (he tells her that this is why he's not sharing the author's/speaker's name), and just lets Padme pick apart all the 'this is a nice way of saying they don't view the clones as people' details.
Alternately, someone on the Council sees Anakin dithering and manages to get him to admit that he's not great at political language and wants to ask someone to help him understand the full implications. The person--Mace? let's go with Mace--is aware that Anakin is on good terms with Senator Amidala, if not necessarily aware of the depth of said relationship. Mace points out that he's probably going to be seeing her soon just because he usually does and, as a Senator, she can get easy access to these sessions since they're not about specific missions, just allocation of resources, etc. It's not an optimal solution, but she's got a bit more free time than anyone else Anakin knows with the clearance levels, like Order members that are actively involved in the war effort.
Anakin dithers and panics and Mace, trying to be helpful, tells him that plenty of Jedi have made friends among the Senate over the years, didn't you know Qui-Gon Jinn was a personal friend of Former Chancellor Valorum?
At any rate, Anakin goes to Padme and asks her to explain it to him, because she knows how to phrase things so he gets it.
Anakin has to have her pause and he goes outside and destroys some things halfway through.
(Anakin maybe thinks back to the times Padmé or Obi-Wan were really obviously frustrated and when he asked, they said stuff like “I can’t stand Palpatine rn, sorry Anakin I know he’s important to you and you don’t want to talk about politics, let’s just talk about something else.”)
(Obi-Wan: I don’t trust Palpatine Anakin: you just don’t like politicians in general Obi-Wan: yes that is also true)
(Obi-Wan does like Bail and Padme but he does also talk a bit about how politicians generally aren’t to be trusted.)

-Master-
Part 1
Characters: Anakin Skywalker x Jedi Reader
"I'm sorry, but it would be inappropriate of me to have you as my Padawan when I am already training Anakin. Perhaps when he is granted the position of Master?"
"But I've already asked Mace Windu, Yoda, everyone has turned me down."
Obi-Wan raised a brow, "Is that so, have you asked Ghrenah?"
Your eyes fell to your feet, your hands fiddling with the bottom of your sleeves, "I did actually."
"She still has it in for you?" He asked, a look of surprise on his face.
Your eyes ran circles in your head, "She's already started training someone."
His wide chest rose with a heavy breath, "I am sorry, but you will have to wait. Perhaps this will give you time to improve your relationship with the force."
"You know how limiting being a youngling can be." You sulked.
"Don't be so naive," Obi-Wan straightened his posture. "You know very well how ahead you are, many of your peers still have far to go before they can become a Padawan."
"But I'm ready now!"
"That's enough Y/N!" He said sternly, disapproving of your attitude.
"I'm sorry," You mumbled, eyes not meeting his.
Obi-Wan took long strides towards you, before gently placing a hand on your shoulder, "You're so young, go and explore, have fun, live, before your real duties begin."
~
The quiet claps of your shoes meeting the glossy stone floors resounded off the high walls. You thought about what Obi-Wan said, you pondered the idea of travelling, but your life was here. Your friends, family and future were all here, and you refused to sit and twiddle your thumbs until a Jedi Master was willing to take you in.
"Are you okay?" A soothing voice grew close to you.
Looking up from your reflection in the tiles, you saw Anakin resting against a nearby wall.
"Yeah." You stepped towards him, your bottom lip tucked under your top teeth, "How did it go with the council?"
Anakin showed you a soft smile, before slowly shaking his head.
"I don't understand, why?" Your brows knit together in question.
Reaching out his arms, he pulled you into a hug, "I don't know, Master Kenobi thinks my need to prove myself is what keeps me from advancing but, I feel some doubt."
He let you go, and followed by your side as you continued down the hall.
"It's just frustrating, everything else is going perfectly fine, but I guess I'm too passionate for my own good."
You listened as he spoke, mulling over every word before you stopped walking.
"What's wrong?" He asked, stopping a few steps ahead of you.
"Be my master." The words tumbled from your mouth so quickly you barely realised you said them at all.
"What?" Anakin was taken back by your sudden demand.
Scanning the area around you, you approached him, "You can train me, I can be your Padawan."
"You know I can't do that," Anakin said, shaking his head as he continued down the hall.
Rushing after him, you grasped his arm, forcing him to face you, "You said it yourself, you're almost completely trained, you can teach me."
"What if the council finds out?"
"They won't," Your eyes bore through him, "Even if they did, what's the worst that could happen?"
"I could think of a lot of things that could happen."
"Anakin, please, I know how much you want to be a master, and you know how much I want to be a Padawan, let's help each other."
Anakin's gaze washed over the surrounding space around you as he thought, your grip still tight on his arm.
After a few breaths he looked back down to you, watching your eyes search his for an answer.
"Okay, I'll do it."
You couldn't hide the gigantic smile that had stretched across your face as you leapt into his arms.
"But!" He started, freezing under your embrace, "You must do as I say, do you understand. We are good friends but now you must find a new respect for me as your master."
You stood back, glueing your hands to your side, "Yes Sir," You smirked.
Anakin tilted his head and raised a brow, "Yes Master," You corrected.
He returned your smile, "Come on doofus, let's get something to eat."

I think a big reason for this is that Obi-Wan falls into the narrative trap that many female characters do in that for the majority of his appearances, he's not the main the character, his sole purpose is to advance the character arc/development of the characters around him.
In the original trilogy, Luke Skywalker is the main character and Obi-Wan is the wise old mentor figure. In the prequels, he's the Padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn then the mentor to Anakin Skywalker.
In the Star Wars: Clone Wars show, he is much more of a central figure, but his narrative often revolves around the other characters, mainly Anakin and Ahsoka.
It's thanks to the sw:cw show that we get a lot more complexity and background to Obi-Wan, the biggest of which was any arc involving Satine bc it's a glimpse into his past as a wide-eyed hopeful Padawan.
But the show also allows us to see how entrenched that Obi-Wan is as a Jedi. Taking the Jedi Apprentice novels as canon (bc they're canon until the canon directly contradicts the canon of the canon), we know that Obi-Wan grew up in the Temple and had dreams of being a Jedi Knight. I'm pretty sure he was already called Master Kenobi by the start of the prequels AotC, which means he had already attained that rank in the Order. By the start of the clone wars, he's a member of the High Council, the ruling body of the Jedi.
To portray Obi-Wan leaving the Order to be with his old love is completely contradictory to the core of his character which is that of duty and service. He sees the Jedi as his entire culture, as his people, and they are in the middle of a galactic war. Not to mention that he is a general of the Third Systems Army, which means that he is in charge of thousands of lives. What would happen to them if he just abruptly exited the war? Because Satine is a pacifist and Mandalore is in the Neutral Systems, they wouldn't have tolerated Obi-Wan continuing to participate in the war if he wanted to be with Satine.
I don't actually hate the Obi-Wan/Satine pairing, bc I think they had pretty good chemistry, especially if they fell in love when they were both teenagers. I can see them being attracted to the passion that they see reflected in each other. But by the time the clone wars roll around, I think they have too much baggage and responsibilities to their respective people to make a type of permanent relationship feasible.
I am begging fandom to recognize especially in the context of Obitine that Obi-Wan is also a leader of his people.

My Star Wars Fic Recommendations
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Seeds of the Past -“Are you Luke Skywalker?” Ahsoka’s tone was a bit harsher than she would have liked, mostly due to a hoarse nervousness. It spurred a reaction though, as the man immediately turned to face her. Her eyes widened, as a familiar shade of blue stared back at her. The man bore a few distinct battle scars, but his face was youthful, his jaw square, his chin dimpled. His expression was surprised but gentle, sweet in its polite greeting. He raised his eyebrows for a split second, before responding with a shy smile and a nod. “I am. Can I help you, ma’am?”
Tainted Light - “I'm Luke Skywalker.” Cal's breath caught in his throat. Had the stranger not said it, he would never have guessed. “Cal Kestis,” he replied, holding out a hand and hoping Skywalker hadn't noticed his surprise. “I've been wanting to meet you.”
Momentum - Sometimes, Luke finds that he misses a few things from home. Luke and Leia share a quiet, peaceful moment on a Seswenna beach, and reflect on what they've lost.
The Family Amidala - Padmé lives. She runs.
Your Best Colors - Obi-Wan and Anakin aren't just a team, they are The Team. This series of loosely connected one-shots will explore the bond that makes them The Team through three different eras in their relationship.
To These Memories - After Darth Sidious is defeated, everything changes. Some for the better, others not so much. Mostly better though.
The Thought That Counts - Anakin tries to give Leia a compliment. It doesn't go over well.
Knightrise - There is no battle on Mustafar or in Coruscant's senate building. Instead, a small but still alive Jedi Order rises from its ashes on Mandalore.
Everything but Goodbye - When Anakin leaves the Jedi, he and Obi-Wan say everything but goodbye.
Supreme Chancellor Obi-Wan Kenobi - By and old Republic law, all members of the Jedi High Council are senators in the Galactic Senate, and can thus be voted in as chancellor. A Senator from a less prominent planet has had enough of Chancellor Palpatine’s incompetence and calls for for a Vote of No-Confidence and the instillation of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic.
A Guide to Jedi Antics by Captain Rex of the 501st Battalion - Anakin gets his first foundling, aka stumbled upon a Force-sensitive child in the middle of battle. Rex is tired.
What Should Have Happened - Anakin discovered that Palpatine was a Sith Lord, and now all he has to do is sit still in the Council room and let the Master Jedi handle it. But Palpatines plan to save Padme's life looms in his mind and it shakes him to his core. He leaves the Council room with no plan in mind, and find himself in the halls of healing asking for help. He didn't mean for them to put him in the psych ward. That is what honesty gets you. With his child about to be born, and his nightmares of Padme in distress increasing, has Anakin made a big mistake? Or is this the will of the Force?
Talking Smack - At a state dinner with Sheev Palpatine, Obi-wan Kenobi gets a little creeped out by Palpatine’s habit of prolonging physical contact with people longer than necessary, brushing hands, and otherwise touching people, especially Anakin. During dinner, he schemes with Padme for how to get creepy uncle palps to lay off.
Episode ???: A New Hope - One chance to fix everything. He could do this. He can do this. Obi-Wan had so many questions and very few answers. Just to get better, he’d have to deal with it cautiously - for now, no one could know what’d happened to him - and he had to pretend to be an unremarkable Initiate, while he decided which path he would guide the Order to save the galaxy. No pressure. He’d been once a GAR High General and he was never behind his paperwork. He could do this.
If the world was ending - Five times Ahsoka Tano caught a glimpse of just how much Obi-Wan Kenobi had an effect on Anakin Skywalker, and the one time she realized how much Anakin Skywalker meant to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Perception - Clone Commander Fox is not fond of Senators nor how they abuse his men. Senator Riyo Chuchi is new and only knows what the media portrays about clones. Only time will show them the truth about each other.
