tholme is such a mood for real
Tumblr media
Jedi: Aayla Secura is a mixed bag of utter trash and absolute gold, but I think my favorite thing is how Tholme just automatically rolls his eyes every time Dark Woman opens her mouth.

What are your thoughts regarding An'ya Kuro/The Dark Woman?
Well, she was definitely a skilled Jedi, though a little extreme. Abandoning her name seems a little bit much.

Tholme: I’m looking for An'ya Kuro.
Ki-Adi-Mundi: Who the hell is An'ya Kuro?
A'Sharad Hett: Master Ki, that’s the Dark Woman.
Ki-Adi-Mundi: She has a name??
The Dark Woman: Hello, Tholme. If you’re trying to get into my will, you better hurry up. I could drop dead any second…with any luck.

The tags of the person who reblogged this from me reminded me of a few more Jedi that I love to the moons and back.
First up, T'ra Saa.
Tumblr media
A Neti (living plant) who was ancient and in the Legends continuity, the jedi who trained Mace Windu. She sadly wasn't featured all that much, but when she was, she made an impression.
Tumblr media
After the fall of the Empire and the Establishment of the New Republic and subsequently Luke's Jedi Praxium, she went on to become a member of the High Council, sacrificing herself to fend off the One Sith when the found the Hidden Temple.
Which leads me to, Master Tholme.
Tumblr media
This cranky old man was the master who trained Quinlan Vos, and during the Clone Wars, he led was basically the head of the Jedi's intelligence network throughout the galaxy.
Fun fact, for all those people who hate the Jedi because they're "not allowed to love," Masters Tholme and T'ra Saa were lovers. They acknowledged that their duty to the Order and the Republic came first, but they still loved each other unconditionally. In fact, when Tholme eventually passed away due to old age, after Order 66, T'ra Saa planted herself on his grave in mourning.
Next up, we have everyone's favorite survivor, K'kruhk!
Tumblr media
The ultimate survivor, who lives through three wars and even survived an encounter with General Grievous himself in his first appearance in the Clone Wars. If anyone watched the old Clone Wars cartoon that aired on Cartoon Network back in the day, this was him.
Tumblr media
He survives all these encounters that should kill him because of his death sleep, where he goes into a kind of hibernation trance where he appears dead, but isn't, drawing on the Force to heal himself.
He gets more love, like most of these Jedi, in the Legends comics, even going on to be a member of the same council as T'ra Saa, and helping broker a peace between the Jedi, the Republic and the Fel Empire.
And lastly, the dreaded Dark Woman
Tumblr media
Originally known as An'ya Kuro, she gave up her own name to dedicate herself to the Jedi Order and the Force. She trained notable Jedi Master and future Councilor Ki-Adi-Mundi, as well as Aurra Sing and A'sharad Hett, the latter of whom eventually fell to the dark side and became Darth Krayt.
She's known for her harsh and punishing teaching style, but also gets some pretty cool Force powers out of it.
Tumblr media
She can full on walk through walls!
She meets her end at the hands of Darth Vadar, but has the last laugh in the end.
List of Jedi that are Perfect
So listen, I know Obi-Wan has a lot of fans who will endlessly talk about how perfect he is and that he invented perfection. However, I would like to put forward that the Jedi in general some other Jedi also are perfect and invented perfection. Here is a very small number of them.
Luminara Unduli
Tumblr media
She makes sure she’s prepared, loves her padawan, and is very good at staying focused. She also is good at accepting reality and growing as a person. Have I mentioned that she’s also just really nice? Plus, she pulls off black better than any Sith.
Tumblr media
Kit Fisto
Tumblr media
He’s cheerful, loves his former Padawan, and is very good at puzzles. He is also good at accepting reality. Did I mention that he’s also very kind? Plus, you can’t deny he has a good smile.
Mace Windu
Tumblr media
He is dutiful, focused, and patient. He is also cool and composed. Did I mention that he’s also super nice and kind as well? And you can’t deny the coolness that is purple lightsaber.
Tumblr media
Yoda
Tumblr media
Possibly the most perfect of all. He is wise, humorous, and kind. He also loves teaching, his grandpadawans, and teaching his grandpadawans. Did I mention that he loves all the Jedi and loves teaching them? And there is no denying he is a great frog grandpa.
(If anyone else wants to add on to this with a Jedi you think is perfect, or talk more about the ones I already listed, feel free. The only rule I’m laying down is no Obi-Wan, because there is more then enough on the internet about how Obi-Wan is perfect.)

“Anakin…I see within you the power to release yourself from the dark side.”
Really love this comic - the drawing style is really magnificent.
I just love how the characters are portrayed. AniVader looks so elegant. *∇* Some other artists miss this and only focus on the menacing side of him, but this one got it perfectly.
The Dark Woman / An’ya Kuro is elegant anyway. I think she is quite an interesting character. Plus she is one of the few who know about Vader’s true identity - and she believes in his goodness, too.
Additional kudos for having Mara Jade here as well - bickering with her future Dad-in-law, lol.

The Dark Woman, formerly known as An’ya Kuro, was a human Jedi Master during the Clone Wars. She was exceptionally powerful in the Force and lightsaber combat, possessing powerful healing abilities and the power to turn invisible, pass through solid objects, and teleport. Kuro gave up her name to the Force as a gesture to its power. She was responsible for the training of Aurra Sing. The Dark Woman wielded a purple lightsaber with an ornate metal hilt.

This is very helpful, actually, and provides a good explanation for Aurra even if it isn't explicitly canon. Aurra didn't make it to Padawan by age 9, the Dark Woman was her abusive master. Aurra was subsequently kidnapped by pirates who told her the Dark Woman sold her to them, which she believed because DW was abusive. Pirates trained her to kick ass. Explains why she hates Jedi so much. Might also explain the Hondo thing.
Okay so if I want to write Clone Wars Aurra, this is the one I should use, yes? Because there's like 4 different entries for her on Wookiepedia.
What's confusing is that the Clone Wars site mentions the Dark Woman which is Legends, so not canon? But is canon for TCW? But not? But is? but she never mentions any of this in TCW or uses the force (to my memory.)
