I see a lot of people upset about William Kaplan being dead and no one mourning him cus Billy stole his body and I just don't see it that way. The kid in Wanda Vision is Billy Maximoff, The teenager at the Bar Mitzvah is William Kaplan, the Teen that got taken to the hospital after the wreck is neither and both Billy Maximoff and William Kaplan. That Teen went home with the abilities of Billy Maximoff, to the home of William Kaplan, with memories of neither and lived there for three years. He cares about Rebecca and Jeff, he lied to the to protect them from pain, they are his parents. He wants to find Tommy, he has magical powers, he wants to know who he is. All of these things are true. I wouldn't say William Kaplan is dead he just doesn't remember, like Agatha wasn't dead when he was Agnes, she just didn't remember.
#its fully possible the witches road will give Teen both his memories back cus thats the thing he's missing. making him not William Kaplan#and not Billy Maximoff but Billy Kaplan a mix of the two.#agatha all along#agatha harkness#billy kaplan#william kaplan#billy maximoff#and to all the people pissed that he isn't finding Wanda. womp womp this is about his brother and if you looked you would have seen that.#rumor has it Tommy will be in Vision Quest right? Tommy has to be set up somewhere! he doesn't have magic. and why would they bring back#THE SCARLETT WITCH in a marvel tv show? that's a huge moment they want that sucker for a movie.#marvel#jeff kaplan#rebecca kaplan#also for people up set e6 was billy focused.... yeah mcu projects have set ups for other projects.#even Moon Knight set up Wearwolf by knight. then She Hulk and spiderman had a set up for Daredevil. wandavision set up for Agatha All Along#and the Marvels. Mrs Marvel had a set up for The Marvels. thats kinda how the mcu works its a conected story#teen agatha all along#in the show it shows he doesn't actually remember tommy if he didn't he wouldn't have had to find Ralph. he was surprised wanda had twins#named billy and tommy and that one could read mind while the other was a speedster. all he knows about tommy is that he can feel him#and hes missing.#he probably doesn't know what tommy looks like or sounds like or acts all he know is he can feel him MIA and wants him back.#.........#im back. i also see people stiching that one scene with for lack of better term Teen looking in the mirror going I am William Kaplan and#taking it as Billy adjusting to the body hes in now. one even calling him the monster inhabiting Williams body. and i dont think that it.#he doesn't remember being Billy Maximoff OR William Kaplan. again calling him Teen. Teen is looking in the mirror at a body and face that is#completely alien to him because it is! he has amnesia. he's looking in a mirror with no idea who is looking at him not because hes Billy but#because its no one at that moment hes nothing. he has no idea who he is at all. all he know is thats his body his name is William and his#parents and worried and he know that cus he can read minds. thats it nothing else

Leave the Light On (I'll Be Coming Home)
by @hmslusitania
a03 link
44.4k
“We’re here for our grandson,” Helena says. “Chris is still sleeping,” Buck says. “I meant, we’re here to take him back to Texas,” Helena clarifies. “Yeah,” Buck says. He’s too tired, way too tired to be tactful. “Over my dead body.” -- An accident on a call leaves Buck with custody of Chris after Eddie is... missing presumed. While they navigate their new family circumstances -- and fight to stay together, despite Eddie's parents' best efforts -- a John Doe wakes up in a coma ward with no memory of his own life beyond the knowledge he has a son named Christopher and, somehow, he needs to get home.
absolutely SHOCKED i haven't recommended anything by this author yet, because i go back again and again to their fics. this one had me screaming at my screen and my heart pacing, even though i knew what the end would be. the journey there though, was sweet and wonderfully written. i will love this one for evermore!
alsooo, some amazing cover art by @ronordmann!

Also for some reason I find myself interested in the idea of a Megatron amnesia arc. Not like, in TF One, there’d be no time or point to it as far as the story goes so far, but just in a future series or something
I don’t really know why, I think I heard something about that happening in the Marvel comics with Megatron, I think to explain his reappearance after having been killed off prior (which also sounded interesting with him having killed Optimus but then going mad and being convinced Optimus was still alive and just plotting, which eventually led to his “death” from a point blank explosion of a space bridge)
But the idea intrigues me, and I feel like there’s a number of ways you could spin that premise
One of the ones in my mind is the specific scenario I cooked up one time where Megatron was a reprogrammed former Autobot, and with the amnesia he reverts back to his original self with no knowledge of Megatron. This could lead to the Autobots figuring out what happened to that friend and I’m not sure whether it would have him reverting back to Megatron, staying his former Autobot self and getting rid of “Megatron”, or him getting back both memories and maybe staying with the Autobots with these unlocked memories (but still calling himself Megatron since that’s who he is now)
I don’t really know in general if this would end with Megatron going back to being his normal evil self again, maybe with new forces he recruited during his amnesia (like maybe during this time he basically unintentionally repeated his original rise to power? Or something else idk), or maybe his amnesia just being a look of what could have been before reverting back, or if this would actually lead to Megatron being out of the picture as the Decepticon leader, whether because he never regains his memories or because he decides he’d rather stay in his new life he made
Suppose it depends on what you want to do. I think the latter ideas of it changing him would be neat, but you don’t have to do it, especially since he’s probably still a war criminal. Could just be a way to write him out of the first season to build him up again by the finale, since that seems to be a thing that happens in the shows sometimes
But I don’t know, I like the idea of it. For some reason
I don’t know, does any of this make sense?
#I’m probably not gonna do anything with this concept anyways#as is usual with me#but in my head this would be specifically a TV show idea#and also we wouldn’t just spend one episode on it we’d cut back to it as its own side plot for a while#I’m also imagining this amnesiac Megatron with a cloak like in Dark of the Moon because that’s cool#don’t know where he’d be to have his amnesia arc#either some alien planet (though maybe not because that means introducing more aliens)#some place with Transformers where there’s shockingly no knowledge of the Decepticon leader#or like some remote place on Earth that the Autobots don’t really visit#and he’s vibing with some new human friends#that’s probably the best option if you want to keep it to Earth#maybe add in some unmarked Cybertronians too for the hell of it#I don’t know#transformers#megatron#story ideas#random stuff

whenever i am consuming media and the terrifying monster that is killing people indiscriminately and/or seems so animalistic and detached from any other character is suddenly revealed to have once been a human being at some point…ohhhh i live for it i am fascinated.show me a little bit of humanity poking through even if it’s just for an instant or give me a character who knew them before realizing who it is exactly they’re facing and trying to communicate with them or help them somehow….make me feel a deep discomfort within my bones…show me a total loss of control over a body so wholly unrecognizable at this point…tug at my heartstrings!!!! ilove you tragic monsters i love you cheesy power of friednship & love but i also love you tragedy and pain and gradual irreversible loss of the self

David Tennant and Derek Jacobi in Doctor Who (2005) Utopia
S3E11
The Doctor and Martha arrive in present day Cardiff to refuel the TARDIS and are inexplicably thrust to a distant planet 100 trillion years into the future. When they arrive they realize they have an unexpected passenger in Captain Jack Harkness who has been patiently waiting for the Doctor's return since the mid-19th century. On the planet they eventually meet Professor Yana who is running the 1000-year old Utopia project, the aim of which is to relocate the human-like creatures to a new planet, away from the outsiders who they fear they will become if they don't leave. When Prof. Yana has need of someone to make repairs in a room in which no one can survive, the Doctor has the perfect candidate. The Professor is not what he seems to be however and Martha notices he has a fob watch much like one the Doctor recently made use of...
*Professor Yana's costume was inspired by the First Doctor's outfit. Russell T. Davies even told the costume designer to "Hartnell him up".

Chenford + when did you fall for me?
"When did you fall for me?" He asks the question softly, knowing she'll hear it over the crackling of the fire and the intensity of her thoughts. It's quiet, almost like he doesn't want to ask, but he knows she'll hear his tone and know it's genuine.
She knows him in that way.
He hopes that for the most part, he knows her in that way, too.
Tim watches as Lucy chews on her lower lip in thought, his teeth pressing lightly into the skin of his own lip.
Something about the combination of the cool air, the wine she'd poured in his glass, and the way she's been smiling at him tonight have him buzzing beneath the surface – enough that he'd wanted to ask her this, enough that he wanted to hear the answer. They've been skirting around the reality of it: when did you realize we were oh-so-much-more, he assumes because she thinks it will derail them entirely, but more likely because...well, he's never actually asked.
It's been hard to wrap his mind around the idea that they're in this incredibly serious relationship when he doesn't remember any of it – and harder still to try and convince himself they shouldn't be. He knows what Lucy thinks: she thinks he doesn't understand, could never feel the way she feels, hasn't let himself drift into that mindset.
What he really feels is a hell of a lot more complicated, though. He gets it entirely, if not more because she's been actively loving him through this. He doesn't remember their relationship at all, and she's doing the work for both of them.
How could he not be hopelessly in love with her?
That's where it gets complicated, though – because he loves her for her, but he loves her for him, too. He needs to untangle that before he can let himself anywhere near her, truly – because she deserves a selfless love. She deserves someone who puts in the effort for her, who doesn't just love her because she loves them harder.
She lets out a soft laugh and pulls him back, raising her brow. "It's a bad answer," she offers, and Tim tips his head to the side, narrowing his eyes at her. "What? It is."
"Lay it on me," he shrugs, taking a slow sip of his wine. "I'm sure it's not that bad."
"It's a non-answer," she takes a sip from her glass, holding his gaze as she pulls it away from her mouth. "It wasn't one moment. I fell for you in a million little moments – hearing you call me Lucy after you handed me my final evaluation, offering me a ratty old pair of sweatpants when I stayed at your place after Jackson died," she offers him a sad, solemn smile. "Letting me talk my way into being your aide, inviting me to tear down your childhood home with your sister – god, even," she presses her hand to her face for a moment and he leans in closer, just wanting to be near her. "Even you calling me fucking goat whisperer in front of a date had me swooning. You don't even realize you're doing it, too – which is even more annoying. You just exist as this...wonderfully irritating version of yourself that I can't help but be ass over feet in love with."
Tim swallows, keeping his eyes focused on her. "If you had to pick one," he breathes, grinning as she rolls her eyes at him, visibly annoyed. "What? You said I was irritating, didn't you?"
Lucy bites on the rim of her wine glass, taking a sip and then setting it down. "Just one moment?" He nods, pressing his lips together. She sighs, tapping her fingers against her chin and then dropping them, humming over at him. "I think I really knew the first time you hugged me. That's cheesy and it's not really true, but I...we'd never," she pushes her hair off her face with a one-handed sweep and he wants to slide his hand over her cheek, bring her close, feel her breath on his skin. "We'd never touched like that before, and I didn't want you to let go. You...I stayed at your place," she has that expression she gets when she feels like she needs to fill in the gaps for him, and he nods slowly, hoping she'll breathe and calm down. "You invited me over after Jackson died, said I shouldn't be alone. You hugged me and I," she lets out a soft, hiccuping laugh, "I don't know, I didn't want you to stop. I didn't know what I was feeling then, but I know it now. You were keeping me still. You were grounding me," she shrugs. "Turns out, that's what we do for each other."
He lets out a slow, steady breath. "You knew you loved me, then?"
She hums in thought. "No," she laughs. "When I think about it now, I loved you something fierce, then. In the moment? I'd never been more confused about what I was feeling in my life. You were warm, and steady, and I could follow your heartbeat. You confused the absolute shit out me, but...somehow, a little less than everything else did," she smiles over at him softly. "So, everything you do now...just, unnamed."
Tim takes a sip from his glass, reaching over and grabbing her hand. He laces their fingers and squeezes them gently. "So what you're telling me is that we're on the same page," he murmurs, after setting his wine down. "Confused, but intrigued. Enamored, for some reason."
She raises her brows at him. "You're enamored with me, huh?"
He lets out a low, rough laugh. "I've been enamored with you for a long time I remember that much."
He's pretty sure Lucy's smile is enough to keep him asking her questions all night long.
#*fic#*5sentence#chenford#chenford fanfiction#c: tim bradford#c: lucy chen#tv: the rookie#ship: tim x lucy#amnesiatim#so what you need to know about this if you have not heard abt the amnesia tim that lives in my brain is:#tim has lost his memory from essentially s4 onward#chenford together as per canon but they have been together longer in this#they are ~trying to figure things out~ while lucy remembers their whole romantic relationship and tim remembers none of it#convoluted for a ficlet but whatever here u go#tbh you could also just take this as standard chenford and ignore the amnesia bits

Hi! I'm late to the party, but you still doing the fanfic trope meme? How about Butchlander for #9 -- amnesia? (no pressure tho)
It’s never too late for rambling runon Butchlander fic ideas! (Meme link)
Ooh this is a good one, so have two scenarios, depending on who’s saddled with amnesia. Both start out with canon-like no established relationship, so they’re on the long side
9, Butchlander, Amnesia: Homelander’s the one with amnesia
The Boys manage to wipe HL’s memory using some overpowered telepath supe (like Cate heh). He forgets so much, he can’t even remember how to use his powers, but he’s still got his superhuman defenses, so they still can’t kill him.
They take him to the Boys’ HQ and try to figure out what do with him. Billy is a little bit dismayed to see that making HL’s mind into more or less a clean slate also dramatically changes his personality. He’s unsure of himself, clinging to Billy for guidance as the person he sees as the leader of this group, and honestly not really much of a cunt. They try to plan whether he can actually help them take down Vought (they feel bad trying to find ways to kill him when he can’t even remember any of his crimes and is like an ignorant, innocent babe). At the end of the day Billy puts him in civilian clothes, baseball cap and sunglasses and takes him home as incognitoly as possible. Homelander mopes around the house, starts asking Billy what it is they’re trying to do and why they need his help, and Billy can’t believe he’s actually encouraging HL to recall how to use his powers, asking him to try to incinerate a target or lift off the floor. HL, for his part, thinks it’s preposterous that Billy thinks he can fly and shoot lasers, and can’t seem to remember how to do it.
Depending on how slow or fastburn the story goes, they end up having sex eventually and Billy’s brain breaks because it’s good, dammit, but he also sees HL’s eyes light up on orgasm. HL also eventually sees himself as missing on the news, starts asking more questions and when Billy tells him the truth gets revolted and depressed.
9, Butchlander, Amnesia: Billy’s the one with amnesia (why’d this get so long)
Billy’s TempV illness gets so bad that he’s already in hospice care, about to die, and so much of his brain has deteriorated that he’s losing motor functions, his speaking faculties, and his memory. He wakes up to find himself in a sunny room with tall ceilings and very strange decor. A man wearing a ridiculous superhero uniform approaches him, asks him how he’s feeling. Billy’s feeling fine, in fact he can vaguely recollect that he felt much worse at some point earlier, but he seems to have huge memory gaps. Even this man in front of him looks very familiar, and the name he introduces himself by elicits a strange angry feeling in him, but trying to remember who he is is like grasping at bubbles and the man is being very pleasant if a little patronizing, so maybe the anger is misplaced. Whoever he is, Homelander seems to be living in this opulently garish apartment, and for some reason has bothered to place Billy’s hospital bed near his window-wall.
Billy is physically very weak, he’s not quite sure when he’s been out of bed the last time, but his body looks wasted away, and he has to brace himself against furniture to hold himself up when he tries to walk under his own power. Homelander leaves him in his apartment, but gives him a number to call should he need anything. Billy just sits and watches TV for hours to try to piece together some of the really fragmented information in his mind. At the very least he pieces together that Homelander is probably the most important and famous superhero on the planet, but can’t figure out why he’s taken him in (he said he arranged for his cure and recovery) and can’t quite place why he keeps feeling anger rise whenever he sees him on screen, his lizard brain remembering something his higher one doesn’t. It doesn’t make any damn sense, but Billy does ask Homelander why he saved him. Homelander shrugs and says rescuing people is his job, but it seems like a deflection, and he looks amused as he says it, in an irritating way.
Homelander’s original plan was to just get his nemesis back to life, and maybe gloat a little. He put in him in his room to maintain secrecy, but maybe he shouldn’t have put his bed right where Stormfront’s was, because his mind is getting a little crosswired too. He doesn’t ask Billy for handjobs, but mentally things start to blur.
Days pass, Billy recovers physically more and more. He puts aside his strange, unprovoked ill will towards Homelander, and they eventually become physically intimate. “Were we… together before I got sick?” Billy asks, a little bewildered that he could have forgotten something like that, and Homelander smiles and nods, as if that was the real reason he saved him this whole time. He can’t keep Billy locked away forever though, and eventually Billy walks around Vought Tower. It becomes a creepy thriller because he runs into a weird kid in the hallways who seems to know him and seems very surprised to see him alive, but Homelander is there to quickly steer him away.
Billy eventually goes out into the city, old buried memories kicking in to make him find Central Park. He finds a quiet area with an inviting bench to sit on (the place seems so familiar? But Billy is tired of sorting out all his deja vus), taking in the view when a tall skinny guy walks by and seems to recognize him, and seems to be shocked that he’s alive. And when Hughie sits down and starts explaining everything, it’s like the Matrix and Memento all in one, and Billy breaks out in a cold sweat when the whole demented-sounding story does start clicking into place and he does remember about Becca’s existence.
But he decides it’s to the Boys’ advantage to pretend he doesn’t remember, because now he has incredible access to HL… just as soon as they figure out how to do him harm. He goes back and tries to pretend everything is fine, but of course it’s hard, especially when HL can hear his pulse rate and see him sweat. HL may be noticing something but he’s happier pretending everything is fine too, because at least he has the semblance of a loving relationship. Billy is basically a honeypot in this operation now.
