#some place with Transformers where there’s shockingly no knowledge of the Decepticon leader

Also for some reason I find myself interested in the idea of a Megatron amnesia arc. Not like, in TF One, there’d be no time or point to it as far as the story goes so far, but just in a future series or something
I don’t really know why, I think I heard something about that happening in the Marvel comics with Megatron, I think to explain his reappearance after having been killed off prior (which also sounded interesting with him having killed Optimus but then going mad and being convinced Optimus was still alive and just plotting, which eventually led to his “death” from a point blank explosion of a space bridge)
But the idea intrigues me, and I feel like there’s a number of ways you could spin that premise
One of the ones in my mind is the specific scenario I cooked up one time where Megatron was a reprogrammed former Autobot, and with the amnesia he reverts back to his original self with no knowledge of Megatron. This could lead to the Autobots figuring out what happened to that friend and I’m not sure whether it would have him reverting back to Megatron, staying his former Autobot self and getting rid of “Megatron”, or him getting back both memories and maybe staying with the Autobots with these unlocked memories (but still calling himself Megatron since that’s who he is now)
I don’t really know in general if this would end with Megatron going back to being his normal evil self again, maybe with new forces he recruited during his amnesia (like maybe during this time he basically unintentionally repeated his original rise to power? Or something else idk), or maybe his amnesia just being a look of what could have been before reverting back, or if this would actually lead to Megatron being out of the picture as the Decepticon leader, whether because he never regains his memories or because he decides he’d rather stay in his new life he made
Suppose it depends on what you want to do. I think the latter ideas of it changing him would be neat, but you don’t have to do it, especially since he’s probably still a war criminal. Could just be a way to write him out of the first season to build him up again by the finale, since that seems to be a thing that happens in the shows sometimes
But I don’t know, I like the idea of it. For some reason
I don’t know, does any of this make sense?
#I’m probably not gonna do anything with this concept anyways#as is usual with me#but in my head this would be specifically a TV show idea#and also we wouldn’t just spend one episode on it we’d cut back to it as its own side plot for a while#I’m also imagining this amnesiac Megatron with a cloak like in Dark of the Moon because that’s cool#don’t know where he’d be to have his amnesia arc#either some alien planet (though maybe not because that means introducing more aliens)#some place with Transformers where there’s shockingly no knowledge of the Decepticon leader#or like some remote place on Earth that the Autobots don’t really visit#and he’s vibing with some new human friends#that’s probably the best option if you want to keep it to Earth#maybe add in some unmarked Cybertronians too for the hell of it#I don’t know#transformers#megatron#story ideas#random stuff
