Amitabh Bachchan nearly died while shooting Coolie and Jaya arrived to find Hanuman Chalisa in a coma.

Amitabh Bachchan: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is currently on bed rest on doctor's advice. In fact, Amitabh Bachchan suffered a rib injury while filming 'Project K' a few days ago, and was immediately admitted to the hospital, where doctors advised him to rest after bandaging his ribs. This is not the first time Amitabh Bachchan has been injured while filming a movie. In fact, 40 years ago, Amitabh Bachchan was seriously injured while filming the movie 'Coolie' in Bangalore. During this time the issue became about his life and death. Amitabh had a horrific accident in the movie Coolie. The whole story takes place on July 26, 1982, when Amitabh Bachchan was filming for the movie Coolie in Bangalore. During this action scene, Puneet Issar had to punch Amitabh Bachchan in the face and Amitabh Bachchan fell off the table. During this process, the production team suggested filming a body double, but Amitabhachan didn't agree and said he wanted to do it himself. Afterwards, through light, camera, and action, as soon as the scene started, Amitabhachan's condition deteriorated. Deep wound to the stomach during filming Actually, this scene was filmed well at this time. Everyone clapped, but after a while Amitabh Bachchan's stomach started to hurt. During this time, Amitabh saw no bleeding and ignored the injury, applied ointment and went back to the hotel. When the pain did not stop after a long time, he called the doctor over there. After that, doctors gave him painkillers. When the pain did not subside the next day, Amitabh Bachchan went to the doctor and had all the tests done according to the doctor's advice, but even these tests did not come up with any report. On day 3, when the doctor was checking the x-ray properly, gas appeared under the diaphragm. In response, doctors said it could come from his broken intestine. Amitabh Bachchan's condition continued to deteriorate and the doctor advised him to undergo surgery immediately as the injection had no effect on Big B's body. Amitabha Buddha's heart was beating at a rate of 180. Amitabh Bachchan's fever continued to increase and he continued to vomit. His heart was beating at 180 per minute instead of 72. Under those circumstances, his condition deteriorated so much that he fell into a coma. After that, doctors immediately operated on him. The day after surgery, Big B developed pneumonia and his condition continued to deteriorate. After that he was sent to Mumbai. Amitabh Bachchan underwent an eight-hour operation at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. During this process, Jaya Bachchan arrived at the hospital with Hanuman Chalisa and continued to wish him recovery and success of the operation. News of Amitabh's condition spread across the country and his fans constantly raised their hands and prayed for him. In the end, the doctor's hard work paid off after 8 hours, and with the blessings of the fans and the grace of God, Amitabhachan returned home fully recovered. Formalities over ... haha .. 🤣🤣 .. back to business and apologies , for the delay .. the Euro went on for long and without seeing the results till the end went off into sleep mode and .. 

... they rest me .. they plan the ending of the schedule and how they wish to celebrate this rather intricate shoot - the huge set , the Studio , the rain the monsoons .. and above all the stoppage due Covid, and then the limited hours of work after .. but all done with the calmness and efficiency  of the Production Unit and a large crew of dedicated workers of which most of them are ladies .. all running about seeing that the work progresses smoothly and time line maintained , artists looked after , et all ..

.. and the Studio .. Chandivali Studios , one of its kind , large open air outdoor shoot facility .. and there has not been a single film of not just mine but of the entire Industry that has not shot in this Studio  ..

My first film ‘Saat Hindustani’ to ‘GOODBYE’ now all in this premise .. 

remembering the moments will be a task .. but the climax action of ‘DON’ that running picture that made it to the poster design of the film done here .. that drive in the car in DEEWAR to reach the temple in the death scene .. the temple itself built here .. the corridor and all .. the interior done in Rajkamal Studio , but all else of the section done here ..  that same driveway decorated as I walk down to the shot in COOLIE after recovering ..and ManMohan Desai making it a festive occasion with band and flowers all over .. so embarrassed I was with all the attention .. but my insistence that the shot that felled me , my action sequence in the film , and the stoppage due to my injury which almost took my life, and my desire to start the shoot again after coming out of Hospital of the film from the same spot where I was injured .. the re setting of the Bangalore location here in Chandivali and me getting up and punching the villain to victory ..

the revolving restaurant of NASEEB .. and oh dear the list just goes on .. but the location , the Studio ever present ever welcoming by its most humble and simple owner, all all these years ..

and today well yesterday the birthday of one of the relatives and an invite ot come to the office .. and then a most humbling surprise .. they have an entire room filled with my posters and a dedication to me .. so moving and so touched by this ..

.. the simplicity and soft traditional values .. the continuance of them so dear and near us all .. the ‘tika’ on the forehead , the gentle ‘diya’ on the ‘thali’ and the ‘arti’ like moving it about the person as a blessing and invitation of welcome .. so many such gentle yet sustaining rituals .. so endearing and filled with great emotion and respect ..

And then back to the body protection and the routine of the gym and those that are so qualified in their profession of the medical, who discuss the finer details and give assurance and advice for a better living ..

 ... dear dear .. too many pictures and too much talk .. t will be a burden to download all of this and shall be time consuming .. so ..

..  depart .. and before so the Assistant that informs of the next schedule .. gifts some sugar less chocolates as she felt after the Germany v England Euro game and my disappointment at my team support loss , to feel good again .. generous and sweet ..

It's okay to have pressure in life... sometimes some things/situations are out of our control, have faith in god/nature.... everything at the end results in betterment and for, our good in life...

Everyone in life is struggling, everyone have their own battles let's see an example, Do you know Mr. Amitabh Bachchan sir💖💫,

1. Operation of a lump in neck, which results an accidental surgery leading to the rupture of left shoulder muscle leading to loss in strength of the left hand side so much that he was unable to stretch his arms completely, unable to eat food properly and under conditions that he is lefty..

2. Accident in Coolie movie leading to such big surgery of that he's unable to stand properly for months..

3. Hernia operation

4. Asthma (In which you always need to carry a pump with you)

5. Myasthenia gravis (muscle dysfunction disorder)

6. A firecracker (anaar) exploded in his left hand on Diwali. The skin of his hand melted below his wrist and his left hand became a pulp, with no nails and fingers.

7. Operation for lump in groin

8. Cirrhosis results in damaging 75% of his liver

9. Tuberculosis of spine

10. L4 and L5 vertebrae damaged of spine in doing stunts in Don and Parvarish movie...

In short, he is asthmatic, has had three major stomach surgeries, suffered tuberculosis of the spine, lost most of his shoulder muscle in an operation, lost almost 80 per cent of its strength, has problems with hernia, suffered myasthenia gravis, lost 75 per cent of his liver to hepatitis, had several vertebra damaged due to action sequences and injury in the neck, and has also met with an accident which burnt his hand to a pulp. Needless to say, all these health issues have caused him tremendous pain, physical discomfort and mental agony.

Can anyone go through more discomfort than this?🤷🤷🙇🙇

Despite this, he is still on his feet every single day. Daily hitting the gym, shooting for films and actively participating in functions on a regular basis is something which seems impossible for a about to 80-year old man with the kind of medical history he has.❤️

An American doctor in New York, where he had gone for an opinion on his myasthenia, when the doctor had gone through his report, he had inquired, ‘Is this guy still alive? I cannot suggest anything more than what he has already been treated for but I would just like to meet the man.’

So just work and never, never ever give any excuse...and if anytime you feel to give an excuse just read this Day 8 blog and remember Mr. Amitabh Bachchan sir....!

Abhishek Bachchan resumes shoot for Oththa Seruppu Size 7 remake in Chennai after shoulder surgery

Actor Abhishek Bachchan took to his Instagram and shared the news confirming that he went through an injury recently. Earlier there were reports last week which suggested that he had been hospitalized. The actor was shooting for his film Oththa Seruppu Size 7 Hindi remake in Chennai when he had this 'freak accident'. Post which, he returned to Mumbai and was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital where his father Amitabh Bachchan and sister Shweta Bachchan visited him.

Now taking to his Instagram, the actor shared that he is now All "Patched-Up" and has returned to Chennai for resuming the shoot. Abhishek shared a picture in which he was seen with his arm in a sling. He was wearing a sky blue sweatshirt with loose fitted jeans and even made the thumbs-up gesture through his plaster. He was also wearing a black face mask, chunky cream-coloured sneakers and eyeglasses. Sharing the news, the actor penned a long caption describing his condition which reads, "Had a freak accident in Chennai on the set of my new film last Wednesday. Fractured my right hand. Needed surgery to fix it! So a quick trip back home to Mumbai. Surgery done, all patched-up and casted. And now back in Chennai to resume work."

He further added and wrote his father famous dialogue, "As they say... The show must go on! And as my father said.... Mard ko dard nahin hota!

.. the Father and his 2 sons .. all look alike .. the elder a respected citizen caught in a web of deceit .. one son in the Police and officer .. the other son a fun loving GEN next .. all webbed together in a remake almost of a Kannada film made by the giant legend of the time .. Raj Kumar from Karnataka .. directed by dear dear friend Ramanathan ji , with whom I need several historic films .. 

... most of the work done at the AVM Studios in Madras/Chennai ..  songs and scenes in Kathmandu, Nepal .. and glorious times spent in its execution .. injuries and all ..

.. the phone song ‘jidhar dekhoon’ .. Pancham da insisting I sing it .. was really badly sung but went with the moment of the scene , so it went ..

.. at the recording with Pancham da .. RD Burman .. ..’pyaar mein dilko maar de goli ..’ in Patan , Nepal, now with changed name of Lalitpur .. the city of immense ancient value .. one of the oldest in history and all made of wood , well mostly .. the architecture and the designs simply astonishing ..

.. but sadly most of it destroyed in the recent earthquake in Nepal , .. the crowds included in the song on my insistence rather than leave them to the security to keep away .. felt they could be involved in seeing a romantic song between two lovers .. it worked .. they behaved so well , cooperated and gave applause .. the same location was shot for ‘KHUDA GAWAH’ , when after the Bushkashi horse competition the face of Sridevi is revealed .. it was done here in Patan .. shot division from Afghanistan to Nepal in two successive shots .. the glory of film making ..

.. and in that little break in the shoot to go kayaking with the little fellow .. Abhishek .. the rapids in Nepal are famous the world over and is a very popular sport among the tourists that come from all over the world .. almost drowned there .. got stuck in the kayak as it turned over and could not turn it around in the rapid waters .. still photographer Alam, who travelled with me , realised the situation jumped in and turned the boat over and saved me .. 

... and the injury because of that above .. had to slide down the rope in a song and action sequence .. never realised that rope friction is the worst burn ever .. the shot happened .. sliding down I knew I was damaging my hand but what the heck the show must go on .. shot over the hand lacerated to bits .. 

.. PACK UP .. into hospital .. drugged , treated , stitched up .. bandaged .. off to Bombay then to be at the wedding of Chintu .. yes Rishi Kapoor .. there I am all strapped up , in the baraat .. Shammi Kapoor ji in front of me .. at the Burmah Shell Complex in Chembur .. and by next morning back to Chennai/Madras and resume shooting .. 

.. the art of camouflaging the injured hand became a routine exercise later too, when it blew up during Divali, handling a bomb firecracker .. immediate films .. Inquilab and Sharaabi .. hand in pocket mostly or a handkerchief wrapped around to express style .. 🤣🤣🤣 ..

and the often exploited picture at Patan, Nepal from the song :

Abhishek almost killed me for doing that because they became the in thing in todays times ..

Days after talking about his hand injuries in his blog, Amitabh Bachchan has now shared a closeup of his left-hand fingers, which he injured years ago while lighting firecrackers on Diwali. The new picture shows how the actor’s injuries have healed over time.

Sharing a closeup shot of his index finger on Twitter, the actor wrote, “Fingers … the most difficult element of the human body to restructure .. need movement continuously .. stop movement they become stiff .. I know .. blew my hand off with a Diwali bomb .. took me 2 months to move my thumb to my index finger !! .. & now how creative.”

He later took to his blog and opened up about he dealt with the hand injury. Sharing a few pictures, he added, “work continued .. hand wrapped in a kerchief for style .. or in the pocket for attitude .. but work continued .. as must it should.”

While one screengrab of his 1984 film Inquilaab shows him dancing with a handkerchief tied on his hand, a still from 1984 film Sharaabi shows him a white suit, holding a glass in one hand and his injured hand in his pocket. Refusing to share any additional behind-the-scenes stories from the two films, he wrote, “the first one .. a Madras production .. and Sharaabi the other .. great behind the scenes, stories for both the films .. now not prudent to talk about them .. they are best unwritten and undisclosed.”

Amitabh Bachchan was already recovering from a hand injury when he blew up his finger on Diwali and had attended Rishi Kapoor’s wedding with a bandaged hand.

Before the Diwali accident, Amitabh was already recovering from a hand injury which he suffered on the sets of his 1983 film Mahaan. He had lacerated his hand to bits due to friction while sliding down a rope. He was “drugged , treated , stitched up and bandaged” before he made it to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s wedding function with a heavily bandaged hand.
