I don’t want to read too much into it but I was shocked when I saw that angel and flau’jae were no longer following each other same with kk arnold and angel they looked close on the americup team last year then they stopped following each other
ngl i didn’t really follow angel once she left maryland but i saw after they won the championship her and flau’jae was everywhere together and then it died down, but i think after what happened at the beginning of the season it completely ruined whatever friendship was left.
i didn’t even know kk and angel were ever close that is weird tho

When 6-foot-7 center Kamilla Cardoso enters the WNBA -- likely as a top five pick after Monday's draft -- she will face a new challenge, in coming up against the world's best players on a regular basis. Outside the college game with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Cardoso has proven her ability with the Brazil national team under José Neto - including against the college coach who would later help her become one of the most sought-after prospects in women's basketball. On June 19, 2021, Dawn Staley and Cardoso crossed paths as competitors on the court for the first time. A month and a half earlier, Cardoso had transferred to South Carolina from Syracuse, where she spent her freshman season. However, on this particular day, Staley and Cardoso were adversaries as Neto's Brazil looked to plot a path past Staley's USA in the FIBA AmeriCup semi-finals. Ultimately, the USA won 71-60, but Cardoso proved to be undaunted by the occasion - putting in a huge shift on defense. Of her 10 rebounds on the day, eight were defensive rebounds. According to Neto, it is no accident that Cardoso is entering the WNBA as a player considered ready for a seamless transition from college basketball to the professional game. Rather, her success is a result of young players deliberately being exposed to international camps with Brazil's established WNBA stars.

But after watching yesterday's men's final and today's women's at the Olympics I'm going to say:
Those games were INSANE WTF
I think I'm going to start watching more basketball now

Ej. And this is competitive (RIP Sam Kerr 16 Mayo 2021)

Hey can I ask you something in good faith? Do you just not vibe with Caitlin Clark as a person or player? I was reading back through your blog trying to get to catch up on some Phoenix stuff and I paused a few times at the comments on CC.
If there's a scale from 0-10 where 0 is irrational hatred and 10 is idol worship, I'm at a 6. I like her a little. That's it.
My main criticism of Caitlin is she's made some clumsy shortsighted career decisions. Over time, those decisions snowballed into major obstacles.
The best example of this is the national team roster. Caitlin chose not to be an Olympian by ignoring every USA Basketball opportunity between 2021 and 2024.
In June 2024, somebody leaked the Olympic roster to the press. And overnight, USA Basketball got more negative media than ever before. The media had quotes from Caitlin even though USA players said they weren't allowed to discuss the leak. And Caitlin's words didn't match up with her college apathy towards USA. She said going to the Olympics was her dream. She told her fans that she almost made the team. That could not be further from the truth.
Caitlin's actions resulted in an avalanche of negative media narratives about the Olympic national team. Those negative narratives have drowned out the heartwarming stories the national team wants to communicate to the public. When the national team is prevented from inspiring the public, that's a serious problem.
We would not be here if Caitlin made different choices. She could've ended media toxicity right after the 2023 college final by becoming Angel's Americup teammate. That would've put her on a USA Basketball pathway leading up to the Olympics.
But instead, Caitlin skipped that Americup tournament. Did Caitlin make that choice on her own? Or did the people around her tell her to do that? I don't know. I'd like to give her the benefit of a doubt and blame her coaches and parents and whoever advised her. Maybe she trusted someone who had strange ideas about her career. Maybe she trusted someone who wanted to turn her name into a culture war.
