The self proclaimed King of Thieves surveys the building once more. The security system that was in place was laughable at best, bordering pitiful. The twelve security cameras on the outside had been obscured or dismantled, and the three security guards were now sleeping soundly a few feet away from their  posts.

A short time after entering the museum, he has the necessary interior cameras disabled and walks confidently through the foyer. He had spent a week and a half analyzing the schedule of the guards and memorizing the layout down to the most minute detail - which, admittedly, isn’t his preferred method - but efficiency bests hastiness, especially given the increased surveillance due to the string of reported thefts around the country - at least half of which are not his own. He isn’t sure who the mysterious thief, or thieves, are but he will not be outdone.

Thief King Bakura smirks as he enters the main room, his sights on the ancient golden artifact in the center of the dimly lit room. This will give him a pretty penny to line his pockets. Violet eyes take a second glance around the room, and he strolls closer to the object. This was easy, he thinks, almost disappointed at his own leisurely pace.

As he takes another step towards the object, the skin on the back of his neck prickles and he tilts his head with a jolt of wariness and intrigue.

He positioned her on his lap. A gesture no way forgotten through the years, and his arms gently wrapped around the small, warm body, pressing it to his own. “Remember that?” With a faint smile tugging at his lips, he asked eventually. His eyes reaching into space, as if he was reaching for a distant memory. “We used to do that a lot.”

Ryou edged down the alley carefully, pen tucked behind his ear, notepad in hand. A whole collection of robberies had been said to occur in this part of town recently. Ryou wanted to write an article on it, but when he had called up his contacts in the police station, he had been met with a resounding wall of nothing.

It seemed the only way to get any information was to come to this part of town himself.

Ryou peered carefully around the next corner, stiffening slightly when he saw a female figure in the alley. He narrowed his eyes. Something about that figure was familiar, though he had never been to this part of town before. He stayed quiet for the moment, watching her movements, but then his eyes shot wide open when he saw white hair.

...No, it couldn’t be...

Swallowing, Ryou took a step back, his footstep echoing loudly through the otherwise silent alleyway. He drew in a breath, sagging against the wall, his face draining of what little colour it had as he stared at her.

It couldn’t be.

“...A ... Amane...?!”

2. Forehead

The scene was somewhat grotesque, most likely because she, a ‘meager’ girl in his eyes, dared to come up to him and be angry. It wasn’t a thing that a lot of people dared and when they did he honestly rarely took them seriously on the things they said.

So this moment put nothing else on his face but a lopsided smirk. She hadn’t insulted him in a way, but spoken her mind... and when he took a step towards her it became obvious how little he cared. Namely as his mouth came down and delivered a kiss to her forehead, going hand in hand with the words: “How adorable.” And that was it. He passed her by, expecting to follow him, like the cocky jerk he had always been.
