Hello! Could you please do something for Fuyuhiko, Gundham, Kokichi and Shuichi? Getting protective/defensive over a shy and timid fem reader. Thank you!
warnings: Swearing and mentions of being hit on by people unconsenually.
First imagine on this blog! Hope you like it! Sorry it took so long, accidentally got distracted 😅. I’m also sorry but for not doing Shuichi but I couldn’t imagine him being that assertive, however you can send it back in with only Shuichi and maybe one of the other mods will do it. -Mod Ouma 💜
Fuyuhiko Kuzuruya
You and Fuyuhiko are an interesting match-up: a quiet shy girl and a loud angry yakuza, needless to say people were surprised by your relationship, but you two were happy so no one really made any comments, especially because this is Fuyuhiko we’re talking about.
Fuyuhiko honestly tries to keep you away from everything that could frighten you or hurt you in any way. Enlisting Peko when he couldn’t be around or when both of them were busy, getting his most trusted bodyguard to look after you. He loves you more than he could ever admit to your face but he shows that in protection and his own special way.
Today you guys went to a new amusement park that showed up for an event, -you had to beg Fuyuhiko to go- and you saw a stuffed animal that you just HAD to have. So as the strong boyfriend he was, he decided he would win it for you.
This particular day Fuyuhiko didn’t employ bodyguards to look over you because, “I’m the ultimate yakuza damnit and I’ll be damned if I can’t protect you myself.” Just one problem, some creepy man had noticed you and started commenting on your looks when Fuyuhiko was busy.
The vendor had handed your boyfriend the plush and he turned around, the sight that greeted him, filling him with anger. You being almost cornered by this guy, looking obviously highly uncomfortable but too timid to reject most of his advances.
What really pushed him over the edge is the man's hand on your arm, while he said a sexual pickup line.
“OI! DIPSHIT! Get Your Fucking Hand OFF OF HER!!!” This boy is pissed. The man just bent down and retorted “Didn’t you ever learn to respect your elders little boy?”
Fuyuhiko while fuming, kicked the man in one of his kneecaps then as the man fell to the ground he grabbed your arm putting you behind him (despite your height). He got out his phone and made a call, almost instantaneously Peko arrived and you two walked out of the festival.
“Fucking hell, The Fucking Audacity Of Some Dickheads!!!” Needs you to calm him down, hold his arm, too angry for an actual hug.
Gundham Tanaka
Gundham isn’t afraid to challenge someone or speak up, so whenever you need it he’s there. Additionally with his mindset, Gundham genuinely believes that you two are royalty to the dark world and he will do anything to protect his queen, whether that includes speaking for you, help build confidence or keeping you as safe and protected as a royal should be without overwhelming you too much.
You personally weren’t an ultimate but that doesn’t mean Tanaka would treat you any differently, he actually found it quite nice, usually his class would be in all types of trouble, so being able to be with someone who is naturally calm and doesn’t cause much a ruckus is perfect for him, and he loves to relax with you, especially after a long day.
Gundham once warmed up, likes talking about his problems and what happened that day. That means you always have an interesting story which always interests you, but listening to these stories makes you want to experience them. Asking Gundham to accompany him to school one day was easy but the convincing was a little harder as he knew that you might get hurt or have something happen to you so naturally he was apprehensive.
“My dark queen, the mortal class I reside in is not one that fits the requirements for your godly presence. It will be worse than the 4th layer of hell, I shall not taint your beauty with mortal ignorance.”
However after enough reassurance he eventually let you come with him, of course checking with hope’s peak first. As you know though, Hope's peak will do anything to further the students talents so if you help him do that, then they will let you there any day.
When you first got there, all the girls gawked over you and asked how Gundham got someone so level headed and pretty, a little jealousy from Sonia, but she seemed to get over it pretty quickly. Gundham had to pull you away from the crowd before you got too overwhelmed however and the problem started with the perverts.
“Bonjour sweet cupcake, would you like to take a dip in my fros-” Teruteru gets punched in the face as he tries to flirt with you by Hiyoko. “You’re hotter than a malfunctioning engine.” Soda pipes in before Gundham pulls you away from them both towards the door.
“If you mere mortals cannot respect my lady then we shall vacate the filthy premises.” He stops, lets go of your hand and gets real close to the two boys “If I shall witness thee talk about the queen of darkness again, my twelve zodiac generals will teach you fowl perverts a great lesson about respect.”
Kokichi Ouma
A shy and timid S/O, oh you mean a perfect teasing buddy. Seriously he will do lots for the sole purpose of making you flustered, however he’s the only one allowed to do so. If anyone (namely Miu) tries to do anything like that ooh boy will it be a messy situation. Lots of insults and bad (like mentally hurting) pranks thrown their way.
However if you are in a relationship with this man, especially if he trusts you, he will protect you, lie for you, talk for you and really do anything for you. Lets be honest here, no one really expected you two to be together, with all the flirting with Saihara most if not all just assumed he was gay. That paired with your personality really shocked everyone, it just didn't seem very likely.
He tried to keep your relationship private because of multiple factors whether that be safety from the danger of the organization, because he most likely has enemies. Personal image, not that that matters more than you, but as the ultimate supreme leader he can’t be seen as weak or soft. Kokichi also didn’t want to be put in a position where he had to choose you or something else, so be patient, a relationship with Kokichi isn’t going to be easy. That’s why he loves you even more, because you still stay with him despite all this.
(Sorry got off track there)
Nonetheless it got out and people knew now. Kokichi likes PDA, mostly for showing everyone who you “belong” to, since they know of your relationship. God forbid someone flirt with you, Kokichi gets really mad at the person and though he doesn't show it too much, he will insult and mess with the person so much mentally, it’s not fun at all.
This showed especially one day when you were at lunch waiting for Kokichi in both of your free periods, a DICE rival they pranked one too many times. He came up to you sitting down and pretty obviously bad mouthing Kokichi, trying to convince you, he could give you so much more than Kokichi ever could, and that he’d never hide you.
Kokichi however had just walked into earshot of the dude, catching every word and getting extremely upset, part of him wondering if that was true, could he really give you more than the supreme leader. Besides what he was wondering, he also saw you, extremely uncomfortable looking like a bunny being hunted by a predator. Trying to inch your way away from him, choosing to stay silent, but the boy just wouldn’t give up, moving closer and upping the ‘dump him, date me’ talk.
Kokichi calmly walked over, grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him, landing you in his chest, looking at the male with an unexplainable expression. Looking back to you he said “Crackerjack, you know, talking to shit eating toilets isn’t sanitary.” he turned to the man, face darkened, grin widened and the iconic finger over his mouth. “I hope you choke on the shit you talk, fucking hoe.”

The Novoselic Revolution: Post Arc Discussion.
//For those who are confused about the existance of this post in particular, sit tight and let me explain.
//This post doubles as an important announcement in regards to my upload schedule. Stay tuned to find out more.
//This might be something that I’m going to make a habit of in the future. I’ve decided that from here on out, once I finish a story arc, I’m going to have a quick post debriefing and going over all of the important points, or at least the one’s that I consider important, and giving my personal thoughts and feelings on them as the mod and writer of this ask blog and it’s story.
//Firstly though, here’s the important info.
//One or two of you may have caught that short post about me going on hiatus before I deleted it. If you did...then just ignore it. I won’t be making any posts tonight, other than the story one from earlier and this one, but there is a reason for this decision.
//As I mentioned to one anon in a previous post, I’m usually pretty unbusy, as I only go to college on three days a week, being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
//Tuesdays are long days for me, so from now on, you won’t be seeing any uploads on Tuesday’s. Since I’m from England, I don’t know what that would be Pacific Standard time, but at least you know now.
//Moving on, like I said, you’ll be seeing these posts at the end of each arc. Certain topics will be covered here in regards to plot points and characters of the arc, and how I personally feel like I executed them in the end.
//I’m the type of writer who can be critical of my own writing. That is something I find to be a good thing.
//Moving on, let’s get started.
Bringing a conclusion to unfinished plot-points:
Angie is the “main antagonist” of this arc, and as a character on her own, she’s someone who I’ve never exactly been fond of. Her actions during the killing game, as well as just how she portrays herself, I liked at first, but then slowly but surely got less interested in as time went on.
Her inclusion as a character in this series, not just as a “villain” but in general, was pretty important. Angie suffers from the curse of being a Chapter 3 victim who was going through an arc, that her death cuts short. Though her motivations for doing what she did in the killing game are slightly different here, I still felt like giving her a central role in this arc would be a good way to round up that conflict, as well as being able to redeem herself in the end after it’s revealed that she fell victim to a brainwashing not unlike her own. Tenko and Himiko play a pretty big role in her arc as well, particularly Tenko in that one scene where Angie confesses that Tenko’s feelings of immense deteste towards her do not go unrequited. In the end, Tenko and Angie are able to make peace, but it’s not that easy for two people who have spited each other for such a long time to just make up on the spot, so they accept each other, but only just.
Similarly, I wanted to try and bring an end to the conflict of Game 2 Case 3. I know how many of us feel about that case, but that is another case where one of the two victims (Hiyoko in this case) gets her arc cut short. We never ever see Mikan, Hiyoko or even Ibuki apologize and come to terms with each other, even after all they’ve been through. My headcanon that I implemented into this series is Hiyoko doesn’t stop bullying Mikan and spites her for her actions, and Shuichi and Mikan are cleverly able to use this to execute the Double Agent plan. This plan, when it’s revealed, makes Hiyoko stop and reconsider things that she’s said to Mikan, and she tries to do her best to apologize and be a better person towards the poor nurse. Even if her apology was clumsy, Mikan is still forgiving, because that’s just how she is.
Double-Agent Mikan:
This was a “sub-plot” that was really fun to write. As a writer, particularly one who writes DR stories like this one, I find it to be particularly enjoying to play with the emotions of the followers.
Mikan’s “betrayal” was one I figured would hit pretty hard, and the fact that she somehow reverted back to being a remnant would hopefully shock everyone. I tried so hard to sell it too, even going as far as to make it seem like she murdered Tenko on Angie’s behalf.
Of course, in the end, Mikan ends up being a double agent, with the only other person knowing this being Shuichi. On which note, despite how I tried to sell it, I also gave as many minor hints as possible that things weren’t what they seemed. The main one was Shuichi’s behavior after Mikan was outed as a spy for Angie. I made him savage and rude, much unlike the actual Shuichi, to give everyone the impression that things weren’t right. He acts this way, for clarification, to sell to the others that Mikan wasn’t on their side, even though in any other situation, he’d probably choose to believe her.
Also, I wanted Mikan to be badass. For those who forgot, she still has that wound from when Mikihiko shot her with a crossbow arrow.
Tsumioda Side-Story:
My biggest concern with this one was how it was almost shoehorned into the story...Well, not almost, it WAS shoehorned in, but I wanted it to be a conclusion to Mikan’s character arc in this story and in the story as a whole.
For those who are curious too, Mikan will have that highlight and be bandageless for the rest of the series.
Mikihiko Koyasunaga:
As I already mentioned in a previous ask, Mikihiko is my favourite villain that has been revealed thus far. He is a snide, manipulative, cowardly, disgusting, creepy, psychopathic monster, despite his innocent appearance.
His role in the story isn’t over yet. While the previous arc’s villan, being Haiji, was relieved of any chance of a second coming thanks to a certain sword-weilding animator, Mikihiko’s got big roles to play and big shoes to fill as one of the more important members of the Zetsubou Foundation.
In the end, the way he turned out was almost like Kokichi if Kokichi was sort of the reverse. While Kokichi actually has strong, heroic morals, but lies about them and pretends to be evil, Mikihiko lies about having conviction, beliefs and heroic ideals, when in reality, he is just plain nasty, and wants nothing more than to see everyone around him, friend or foe, to suffer.
His backstory as briefly mentioned here, is his reason why he has no faith or praise for humanity, and only ever finds solace in his puppets. Despite owing a lot to Zetsubou, Mikihiko doesn’t even trust his peers. To him, if you’re alive, you should suffer, and he’s always gonna hit you where it hurts. He’ll torture you, kill you, or worse, if it means you’ll feel the worst kind of suffering you can...
...and he will get off on watching your pained face.
The Conclusion:
This is the part I’m most worried about. There’s not a lot I can say about the arcs ending as a whole.
I managed to get everything I wanted wrapped up in the end, with apologies, proposals, and so much more. This arc is not my favorite out of all the one’s I’ve wrote so far, but it’s up there. In the end, how I feel about it doesn’t matter, it’s all down to you all and your opinions.
//Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. It would really mean a lot to me if you’d take my thoughts to heart, and keep asking the gang any questions that you want. I’ll do my absolute best to answer them, so I’ll see you again in the near future.

V3 boys reacting to their selective mute S/O sing for the first time, and she has a really beautiful voice?
I want to apologize to every mod on this blog because it must look like I’m doing crack with how much I’ve been writing lately. I have finals coming up, and I don’t want to study. This will have major spoilers for the end of the game, for those who haven’t finished it yet. So beware.
- Mod Korekiyo
Gonta Gokuhara
He was just coming back from making sure all of his bug friends were put to bed before going back to the dorms.
He was passing by your room when he heard an unfamiliar voice through the door.
He was a bit worried that someone outside the academy was inside with you, so he did the most gentlemanly thing possible!
He knocked on the door.
He was quite relieved that it was you who answered the door.
“Gonta heard a strange voice in the room! Is Y/N okay?”
You looked around the dorm hallway before pointing to yourself.
“It was Y/N!? That’s why sound was so pretty!”
Pretty sure you’re more flustered than he is.
K1-B0
Robots can’t exactly sleep, and he accidentally overcharged when he was low on battery during free time.
So he decided to take a stroll around the academy.
As he walked towards the trial grounds, he saw you on one of the benches.
He was wary, you might be planning a murder!
As he got closer, it sounded like someone was talking to you.
Oh wait, it’s just you?
Prepare to be bombarded with questions, he thought you couldn’t speak!
Oh wait, you chose to do that? He doesn’t quite understand it, but he wants to!!!!
Thanks to his awesome memory, he has a recording of it, as well. It was very pretty, it’d be a shame to lose it.
He wasn’t sure that anything other than Miu’s “flirting” could make him blush so hard.
Bet your ass that he had that recording playing in his head when he sacrificed himself for the other survivng students.
Kaito Momota
If he can help Shuichi with his self-esteem and anxiety, he can help you, too!!!
He made you take part in the daily training with Shuichi and Maki.
Though you still didn’t speak, you seemed more… open, which he took as a good sign.
It was just after the daily training, and he wanted to get a quick snack before heading off to bed.
He was also hoping to visit you before you fell asleep, he couldn’t find you when he went looking for you when you didn’t show up.
It was when he approached the door to the dining hall did he hear the singing.
The voice was unfamiliar, but beautiful nonetheless… was it the mastermind?
He burst through the door, fully expecting to find the mastermind and a dead body.
Wait… it’s just you?
It was only when he saw your red face did he realize what he had heard.
You both look like cherries now.
He’s suddenly hugging you, not wanting you to see his flushed face.
Thanks, Kaito.
Kokichi Oma
He was getting ready for another prank to pull on the next unsuspecting victim.
Nobody usually went to the library after Rantaro’s passing, so he wen’t there to prepare it so he could set it up in the arcade next door.
Just before he opened the door, he heard a voice.
It surprised him, not many people would be singing during a killing game.
He opened the door slowly, he didn’t want to get caught in case it was a psycho in the middle of committing a murder.
But all he saw was you on one of couches reading a book, in your own little world.
You hadn’t noticed him yet, and he was unsure of what to do. Scare you? Prank you? Blackmail you with your own voice?
Instead, he just sat against one of the bookshelves, listening to the voice he wished he had heard before.
It was when you stopped did he come to the conclusion that he should probably wipe the awestruck look off his face.
“Neeheehee… I knew there was something Y/N was hiding from us!”
Don’t worry though, he won’t tell anyone, as long as you promise to keep singing for him.
Korekiyo Shinguji
You were hanging out in his lab together, and he was teaching you about rituals and how to preserve them.
You were helping him clean everything up when he had to run out for a second to replace the wrappings on some of the artifacts.
When he returned, he heard a singing voice through the door of his lab.
He was afraid at first thinking someone was messing with his relics, but listening more closely, it was one of the songs used for a ritual.
It was you, signing, and for the first time, he got to hear it.
“How beautiful, kukuku…”
So he stood outside the door, not wanting to intrude and ruin the song you were singing oh so perfectly.
When you were finished, he waited a minute or two before entering, not wanting to embarrass you.
Only after wrapping up the relics and putting them away did he say anything about it.
“You sing them better than I do, my dear.”
Rantaro Amami
He was walking towards the dining hall for breakfast when he heard the singing.
He wasn’t sure it was you, but his Big Brother Instincts kicked in, and he went looking for the owner of the voice.
It wasn’t long before he found himself at the door of the messy greenhouse.
He opened the door as quietly as possible, not wanting to bother the singer.
Instead of a new student or someone in trouble, it was you.
He leaned against the door frame, watching as you pulled weeds out from the cracks in the concrete.
He has a small smile on his face as he watches you work, happy to know that even in a killing game, it’s possible for you to feel safe and comfortable enough to want to use your voice.
After a few minutes of practically being in a trance, he knocks on the door to get your attention.
With a wave of his hand, you’re following behind him to get breakfast.
The smile hasn’t left.
Ryoma Hoshi
He was in his lab hitting tennis balls back and forth off of the wall, not wanting to lose all of his skill while trapped in the academy.
It isn’t long before the racket breaks from overuse, and cuts his hand.
He thought it best to wash it off in case anything had gotten in it, and so he heads to the connected bathroom.
That’s when he heard a small, quiet voice from outside the window.
It takes a while due to his short stature, but he eventually is able to look out the window and into the pool area.
With a small laugh, he goes back to his practice, using your singing as a sort of soundtrack.
It’s only when you stop does he confront you.
“Keep going, sweetheart, I didn’t get to hear any good music in prison.”
You decide to just go to his lab, instead.
Shuichi Saihara
Class trials always tire him out, as he usually carries the entire discussion.
He found himself with his head in your lap, using his hat to cover his blushing face.
With him being naturally tired, and you playing with his hair, it’s no surprise that he eventually drifted off to sleep.
After maybe an hour or so, he’s awoken by someone singing.
As the voice is pretty close, and his head is still being pet, he’s pretty sure that the voice is yours.
He’s very thankful that his self-conscious being made him put his hat over his face to not make a fool of himself.
As he laid there, he thought about how you may react if he responded to your voice.
In the end, he simply listened to your voice, and allowed himself to slowly drift off again.
Maybe one day he can wake up to this again, but he’d rather not risk you being too embarrassed to sing for him again.

Failed Surprises
“Hello, I'm really loving your blog and hope you're having a great day! I was wondering if I could please request Kokichi, Rantaro, Nagito, Gundham, Hajime, and Makoto with a male S/O who they're each trying to surprise (or maybe prank in Kokichi's case haha) but but their attempts end up going terribly yet hilariously wrong because the S/O was trying to surprise/prank them as well?”
I love this trope not gonna lie! Sorry if they seem a bit repetitive!
Imagine: Trying and failing to surprise their S/O because they also set up a surprise with M! S/O
Kokichi Oma
Kokichi was bored
Really bored.
Days like this where neither him or Y/n had anything errands usually consisted of laying around the house, watching t.v. or getting into a heated board game
They had been doing that for hours when Y/n decided he needed to go to the store and pick up a few things
Kokichi, being the mischievous kid he is, saw this as the perfect opportunity to scare him
When Y/n called to say he was on his way home, Kokichi went to their room and hid in the closet, ready to jump out when his boyfriend walked in
After a few minutes, he heard the door open and someone drop some bags near the door. He then heard some shuffling and some more doors shutting, before total silence
Kokichi tried to wait, but with how impatient he is, felt like he had been in their closet for hours
He had really been in there for fifteen minutes but
With a huff, he got out and swung open the bedroom door
“Y/n, this is no fun! I was supposed to scare you!”
He looked around, and realized he was talking to an empty house
“Y/n? Did you finally run away? Or maybe you were kidnapped by a rival secret organization!”
He heard some muffled laughter come from the kitchen, and went to investigate
“Did I hear someone? Maybe an assassin?”
He swung open the cabinet under the sink with his foot, and Y/n tumbled out
“Y/n! This isn’t fair! I was supposed to scare you!”
Y/n got up and brushed himself off, laughing. “I saw you weren’t in here so I wanted to scare you too!”
Kokichi sighed and gently leaned on his S/O
“Oh how could you ever?! I am but a sad, fragile boy!”
Y/n laughed, patting Kokichi on the back
“Sure you are. Now, help me unpack the groceries”
“Ughhhh!”
Rantaro Amami
Rantaro knew how much Y/n wanted to go see their favorite band in concert, but knew he could never afford the tickets
Which is why Rantaro bought them for him
He had planned the whole thing out, he would pretend to take Y/n out to a nice dinner date, and surprise him with tickets, which he must say, had some good seats
But everything halted when Y/n said that they had a family dinner that night, and that they both needed to go
To say he was disappointed would be an understatement, but knew that they had to go to family events
Except they weren’t.
Rantaro was actually pretty close with his boyfriends family, and called his mom and explained the situation
She laughed and told him that yes, it was fine
So when the night came, Y/n and Rantaro were dressed up nice for the family dinner, which they weren’t attending
Rantaro had brought a bag of regular clothes, which contained band tees and a few bottles of water, while Y/n had their overnight bag for the dinner
When they got in the car, Rantaro started driving, saying he needed to make a stop first to get something from the store
When they pulled into the parking lot of the concert, Y/n looked at Rantaro, eyes wide
“I know, we have to go to your family dinner, but I talked to your mom and-”
Y/n stopped him by rummaging through their overnight bag, pulling out two slips of paper
“This isn’t fair! I was supposed to surprise you once we actually got to my moms!”
Rantaro, is very confused.
“What?”
“I won two front row tickets! I made up the family dinner so you could go to my moms, where I’d surprise you there!”
“But...I bought two tickets, and called your mom and said we’d have to cancel...”
Y/n stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter, Rantaro following them
“We’re idiots, huh?”
“Yep.”
After they finished laughing they both started pulling out the regular clothing so they could go change
Rantaro spoke up
“I hope you know we’re definitely using your tickets”
Nagito Komada
Nagito prayed luck was on his side today
It was his and Y/n’s anniversary, but his boyfriend seemed to have forgotten
Perfect
Since they hadn’t yet moved in together, Nagito wanted to set up a perfect dinner date in his own home
He recruited Teruteru to help cook the meal, and began setting up the perfect date for him and his boyfriend
Dim lighting, amazing food, their favorite movie, and all the pillows and blankets anyone would ever want for a perfect night of cuddling
After he had made his house perfect and wished Teruteru goodbye, he texted Y/n, asking him to come over
‘Hey, Y/n, can you come over and help me move my bed? I am super weak and I need someone strong like my S/O’
‘Nagito, I actually need you to come here. My dog got out and I cant find him!’
Crap.
Nagito knew how much he loved his dog, hell, Nagito loved that dog!
Nagito sighed and picked up his keys, this date would have to wait another hour
When he got to Y/n’s house all the lights were turned off and he didn’t see his boyfriend anywhere
“Y/n? Where are you? Did you find Sushi?”
He knocked on the door, surprised when it opened on the first knock
“Surprise!”
“What?”
All of their friends were there, streamers and a huge banner that read; ‘Happy Anniversary!’
“You thought I forgot, huh? I thought we could have a big party, since it’s also the day that we all first hung out outside of school!”
Shoot, he forgot about that
He saw Teruteru in the background, shit eating grin on his face
He’ll have to kill him later
“Y/n, I really appreciate this, but I kinda had a surprise date waiting at my house...”
Y/n’s face dropped
“Oh no! I’m so sorry Nagito”
“I-it’s fine! What better way to spend the evening than with everyone? We could always just go back to my house after everyone leaves here.”
Y/n smiled again and pulled Nagito into the house
‘this is a good day’
Gundham Tanaka
Gundham knew the perfect way to surprise his boyfriend for his birthday
What better gift than something they both love?
Gundham had been looking at animal shelters for weeks trying to find the perfect puppy to bring into their home
Until, two days before his S/O’s birthday, he found the one
A beautiful baby chocolate lab that practically jumped on him when he first went to pet it
This boy’s heart melted instantly
And he knew his other boy’s heart would too
He planned to get him the next day, but when he came back, the dog was gone
“Sorry, this dog was adopted by someone this morning, but we have plenty of other dogs if you want to look!”
Gundham thanked the nice lady at the counter and started his stroll home, sulking about his missed opportunity
‘Maybe I could him something else to make up for it?’
Gundham started towards the store, picking up ingredients to make a cake and banner
When he got home, he realized he, in fact, didn’t know how to make cake
He tried his best though!
Which was a little lopsided, and having put the icing on too early, a little melted.
He put the banner up, but having realized they had no tacks or scotch tape, he had to settle for duct tape
Finally, he just had to wait for Y/n to get home
When he got home, his boyfriend was sitting on the floor, holding cake away from his dark devas of destruction
“Gundham, what are you doing?”
“I wanted to get you a surprise for your birthday, but since I couldn’t get what I wanted to get you, I tried to make a cake and put up a banner but...”
Gundham looked down at Y/n’s feet, seeing a small creature
“Y/n, what is that?”
“Well, my birthday is tomorrow, and I wanted to get a gift we can both love!”
The chocolate lab jumped from Y/n’s grasp on his leash, bounding towards Gundham, and inevitably, the cake.
It jumped right on it, causing an impact of cake on Gundham, the dog, his hamsters, and the floor
Everything dead silent until the banner fell off the wall
Y/n was the first to break the silence, laughing and going to get a couple towels for his boyfriend
He helped Gundham clean up the cake explosion and hang up the banner once more
Gundham nearly died when Y/n hugged him tightly
“Don’t worry, this was perfect”
Hajime Hinata
There was no occasion, Hajime just wanted to do something nice for his boyfriend
He planned to go to the store, get some nice drinks, a good meal, and the perfect movie for them to watch for the night
Except when he went to the store to get the drinks, Nagito was there, and needed some help finding something
While helping Nagito, they ran into Mikan, quite literally, who crashed into an isle and knocked down dozens of boxes of macaroni and cheese
They helped Mikan up, and before Hajime could say a word, Nagito claimed that he was gonna go find Mikan a doctor and walked off, leaving Hajime to clean the whole place to himself
Right when he finished, he got a phone call
“...Hello?”
“Hajime? It’s Chiaki, can you come over? Akane and Nekomaru are sparring in my backyard and they keep breaking thi- hey! Stop! Please come!” He heard a crash, which was silenced with a ‘click’ of the call ending
He rushed over to Chiaki’s apartment, finding the door wide open, yelling coming from the back
“Chiaki?”
“Please help! Peko’s here too!”
He walked inside to see it looking normal, but the backyard looked like a tornado has swung through
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, watching Nekomaru and Akane spar, breaking vases and trampling a small garden
“Akane, Nekomaru, what are you doing?”
“We’re training, what does it look like?”
“Could you maybe do it in the park, or your own house?”
“You always need to learn how to fight in new spaces!” Nekomaru shouted, ducking a flying kick from his opponent
At that moment, Peko grabbed Akane midair and threw her to the floor, earning a huff of air from the fallen girl
“Foul move, Peko!”
Akane got up and brushed herself off, before running out of the house
Nekomaru followed, yelling for her to continue the fight
Peko said her goodbyes and left, while Chiaki and Hajime cleaned
“Sorry for the inconvenience, calling you over when you couldn’t help”
“It’s fine, I just really wanted to do something for Y/n today, but I guess I can try tomorrow”
“Well, how about I walk you home, and we can pick up some food on the way?”
“Thanks Chiaki”
They finished cleaning and they went back to the store, picking up some food platters and drinks
When they got to Hajime’s place, the whole house was dark
“Aw shoot, is he already asleep?”
Suddenly all the lights turned on, banners, streamers and balloons littering the house
“SURPRISE!”
“What?”
All of his friends were there, wearing party hats, a cake on the table that read ‘Happy Birthday Hajime”
oh
OH
Y/n broke through the crowd.
“Chiaki, did you bring the food?”
Chiaki held up the bags of food they just purchased “Yep!”
“Thank you! Happy birthday Hajime!” Y/n hugged him
“T-thank you...”
“Wait...don’t tell me you forgot your own birthday!”
He gave a sheepish smile and Y/n shook his head
“Dummy...”
“How about we get the party started!” Shouted Ibuki, jumping on the couch
“I don’t see why not!”
Makoto Naegi
Makoto his is boyfriend Y/n were officially in an all out prank war
They had done everything, from water guns to throwing flour bombs at each other
But today, Makoto planned to land the final blow
Having purchased the items needed to completely torment Y/n, which included lots of sticky notes, wrapping paper, and multiple alarm clocks, he hurried home to put his plan in motion
What he didn’t expect though, was to walk into the house and step onto a tarp, only to have a bucket of hot pink glitter fall on his head
He reached for the light switch, but instead of being greeted with light, he got the bright flashing on a disco ball and loud music
He stumbled into the house, only to trip on something resting on the floor
He fell and felt what seemed to be whipped cream hit his face
He heard laughing and the music and lights stop, only to look up and see his S/O, grinning and spraying him with neon green silly string
“Y/n!” He stood up and looked around, seeing the mess the living room was now in. “What happened?!” “I finished this prank war, that’s what happened!”
He ran to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror, seeing a mess of white, pink, and green all over him
“I swear...I am going to get you back!”
“Well I think you need a shower first!” Y/n swiped a bit of whipped cream off his face and ate it
“You’re so lucky I love you”
________________________________________________________________
Sorry is this isn’t what you wanted, but it was really fun coming up with failed surprises, though I think Gundhams is a little obvious :)

NDV3 Boys confessing to their crush.
A new imagines blog! Can I request the NDV3 boys confessing to their crush? Thanks in advance.
I hope you like it dear!
-Mod Angie
Shuichi Saihara
This poor boy is really nervous.
What if you reject him? What if you ignore him afterward? What if he never sees you again?
So many things are going through his head.
He spent an entire day writing his confession for you, but he was still really insecure about it.
He finally decided it’s time for him to confess.
He went to your house and knocked on your door.
‘She probably isn’t even going to answer it...’ he thought.
But you opened it right away, smiling at the sight of your friend.
You asked him why he was holding a bouquet of flowers and a piece of paper, only for him to stutter.
His face was already as red as a tomato.
He looked at the paper in his hands and started to slowly read the confession out loud:
“S/o, y-you’re probably the best friend I’ve ever had, spending time with you always make me happy, staying by your side makes my heart beat faster, your presence calms me d-down during the worst moments, your eyes that are always filled with hope bring me joy every day. Even if there are high chances that you’ll reject me, I want to confess that I... I-l love you, I can’t imagine a world without you.”
His face is probably burning at this moment.
You smile to yourself, hearing the adorable confession made your heart flutter with joy.
It’s up to you your answer and true feelings.
Rantaro Amami
From all of the boys, he’s definitely the most chill about this.
He had asked his sisters before some advice on how to do a good confession.
Just keep it simple, just buy a flower for you, maybe some chocolate.
Everything is going to be a-okay.
That’s at least what he expects.
First of all, he invited you for a walk around the park, the weather was a little hot, but not too bad.
He bought some ice cream for you and him to keep you both cool during this quite sunny day.
Are you hungry? Let’s go get some snacks.
Are you thirsty? Let’s go get something to drink.
Are you tired? How about we lay down under that tree?
You had a really fun day!
Now you two are sitting on a bench, the sun is setting down as you both talk to each other.
It’s finally time for his confession.
He takes a deep breath and looks deep into your eyes.
“S/o, I’ve loved you since the day we met, your bright smile brings hope to me every day, your fun personality makes me happy, your beauty always makes me blush... I can’t really express my feelings in words, they are too big to be expressed through a simple confession, but hopefully, you’ll know that I love you more than anything else in the world.”
His cheeks were dusted with a light pink, one of his hands was behind his head.
You were flattered by his words, but... Do you love him too?
Kokichi Ouma
He acts like it isn’t a big deal.
But he has never been so nervous in his entire life.
He makes a plan to confess to you, and his organization’s members are going to help him.
He first asks you if you would like to hang out with him.
Then, he selects a place for you two to hang out at, which in this case is going to be an amusement park
He sets his entire organization to make everything go as perfectly as possible.
During the end of the day, he’s going to confess.
Nishishi! There’s no way this plan is going to fail!
Right..?
Well, there’s only one way to find out!
When the day of the ‘date’ reaches, he’s feeling nervous.
Thankfully he’s able to pretend that he’s totally fine.
The day went as smoothly as he wanted it to go.
His organization’s members set up accidents so you two would get closer to each other, they randomly served you popcorn and cotton candy and even got a way to let you into a ride for free.
Everything was perfect so far!
But the hard time has come.
He has to confess his feelings for you.
“Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you, I smile.”
Wait... What?
“Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears! “
Is this..?
“If you were a vegetable you'd be a cute-cumber!”
“Ouma, what are you-”
“Do you have a Band-Aid? Because I just scraped my knee falling for you.”
“Is this some sort of joke?”
“No, it’s a confession! Nishishi!”
“You aren’t lying, right?”
“Nope! It’s totally true!”
He looks happy and bubbly on the outside, but he’s dying on the inside.
You don’t know if you should laugh, blush or cringe, but you must answer one thing: do you love him the way he loves you?
Gonta Gokuhara
What should he do?
W h a t s h o u l d a g e n t l e m a n d o ?
He’s clueless about how to confess to you.
Should he write something? Should he give you a little bug? Should he just directly tell you?
He needs help, he really needs help.
He asks Kaede for advice. She tells him to come up with something on his own.
This doesn’t help him too much.
Since Kaede told him to come up with something on his own, maybe he should write a poem!
He grabs a pencil and a paper, already imagining what he will write for you.
He wants to tell you how beautiful you look, how amazing you are, so why not make a poem about all of this?
He starts it, not thinking it would be too hard.
But it takes him hours to come up with the perfect words to describe what he thinks about you.
There’s also the problem that his writing isn’t the best, you can barely understand what he writes...
But he’s going to persist and do it!
The poem ended up not so bad, it was okay actually!
He needs to show it to you right now!
He takes a little monarch butterfly with him, inside a bag, it’s an addition to the poem!
He asks you to go to the forest with him, and you accept.
You find it a little weird for him to be carrying a big bag around but doesn’t question it.
When you two are deep enough into the forest, he says there’s something he wants to tell you.
He takes a butterfly container out of the bag and asks you to hold it.
He also takes the paper with the poem out of the bag and starts to recite it for you.
“S/o is as beautiful as a monarch butterfly, Monarch butterflies make Gonta happy, S/o is as cute as a monarch butterfly, And Gonta likes monarch butterfly’s cuteness! Gonta loves S/o, even more than he loves monarch butterfly! So does S/o love Gonta too?”
You have never heard something so cute and innocent like this in your entire life.
He stares at you with a smile and hopeful eyes.
But... Do you love him too?
Kaito Momota
This guy right here.
He’s REALLY STRAIGHTFORWARD.
If you think that he’s going to plan a confession, bring you flowers and prepare a beautiful dinner.
Well, I think you’ll be a little disappointed.
He’s anxious, of course, but he doesn’t have anything planned.
He just randomly decides that he’s going to confess, RANDOMLY.
He just calls you and asks you to come over, SIMPLY OUT OF NOWHERE.
He prepares a few snacks for you two and has the idea of you two watching a movie together.
But that’s all he has planned.
He planned it at the moment you ringed his houses' doorbell.
AT THE LAST SECOND.
He opens the door and greets you, he tells you that you’re going to watch a romantic comedy.
You didn’t know he that likes romantic comedies, but you decide to not question it.
You two ate popcorn, drank soda, cringed and laughed during the entire movie.
There were the cheesy scenes that made you feel slightly uncomfortable, but that’s okay!
After the movie ended, he decided to confess to you.
He asked you to look at his eyes, straight into his eyes.
He finally opens his mouth to speak.
“S/o, I’m not really that good with confessions, but I think you’ll get the idea! I love you more than anyone in this universe! You’re my star! You’re the girl I’ve dreamed during my entire life! Actually, not my entire life, but since I met you. You’re the most amazing and awesome person in this entire galaxy! Do you love me too?”
What the-
You weren’t expecting this.
He said such sweet words... He’s truly an amazing person!
But... How should you answer this?
Kiibo
This one is really anxious about it.
He did a research on feelings like love and the chances of being rejected or accepted.
The poor boy didn’t understand most of it.
He asked Miu for help. It definitely wasn’t a good idea.
So, he decided he needs to come up with a nice confession.
He spent 1 hour thinking about the right words to use in every single sentence of the confession and memorized it.
While he was still getting prepared, he got a phone call from you asking him if you can come over to his house.
Oh no.
He told you that you can come over.
But was it the right thing to do now?
He isn’t prepared for this, he’s panicking.
He managed to calm down a little... Only for him to hear the doorbell ringing.
He rushed to the door and opened it, he’s almost over-heating.
You greeted him with a smile, but you frowned at the moment you saw his red face. What happened?
You asked him if there was something wrong, only for him to panic even more.
In an act of even more panic, he blurted out his confession.
“S-S/o, I really really like you! You make me feel human emotions that I never thought I would ever feel. Love isn’t something that I understand very well, but I can assure you that I have feelings for you! Seeing your face makes my heart flutter, watching you laugh gives me weird butterflies in my stomach, I can barely understand these feeling! So please, answer truthfully, do you love me too?”
You take a few seconds to process everything. Kiibo loves? How is that possible?
But the most important thing is: do you love him too?
Ryoma Hoshi
He really didn’t want to confess to you since he’s already expecting rejection.
But keeping these feeling to himself is making his situation even worse than it already is.
He needs to do something about it.
He plans to confess to you the next day, he knows you’ll reject him anyway, so why plan something complicated? Why not just go up to you and tell you that he loves you?
Maybe if he confesses, you’ll distance yourself from him, maybe this way it won’t be so hurtful to you when his end comes.
The next day, he asks you to come over to his house, he has something really important to tell you.
He hangs up before you can say anything.
Getting to his front door, you ring the doorbell and wait for him to answer the door.
He opens it right away, with a depressed look on his face.
He asks you to sit with him on the sofa.
You’re confused, what is it that can be so important?
And then, out of nowhere.
“S/o, I love you.”
W-What?
“Excuse me?”
“I love you, I really love you.”
So... Ryoma loves you...
You weren’t expecting this... You definitely weren’t expecting this.
You wonder how much time he has loved you, maybe days, months, or even years.
Do you... Love him too?
Korekiyo Shinguuji
You probably are the most beautiful exemplar of humanity he has ever seen.
He loves you deeply, he loves you more than anyone else in this world!
He can’t keep these feelings to himself, he has to confess to you as soon as possible.
He planned to confess to you during nighttime, under the light of the moon.
He bought a bouquet of lilies for you, a type flower that he loves.
They’re just as beautiful as you.
He invites you to his house, smiling to himself while talking to you through his phone.
You take no time to get to his house.
When he hears the doorbell ringing, he answers the door as fast as possible.
You look beautiful as aways.
He invites you to have a cup of tea with him, and you accept with no hesitation.
You two sat down on the sofa, Korekiyo offered you a cup of tea.
He takes off his mask to drink the tea while looking at you mesmerizing face.
When you two finish the, he takes you outside.
it’s time for him to confess.
He takes your hands and starts to confess.
“I have never seen such a beautiful human being before in my entire life, your beauty is almost the same as of millions of other human beings, you bring joy and creativity to me every time I see your beautiful face. I could say hundreds of words to describe how wonderful you are, but I don’t have the time. I love you, I love you a lot dear S/o, do you love me too?”
You were speechless, no one has ever said stuff about you like that.
He loves you a lot, and that’s something that you appreciate, but...
Do you love him as much as he loves you?

Yay another imagines blog!! Tyvm for blessing us with your writing xD Anyways, I'd like to request Ouma for Pocky Day! Btw good luck with your blog~! It's going well so far! -Anxious Anon
Hey, thanks!! I’m sorry for… notfinishing this up on the 11th, but it’s better late than never, right? And since you didn’t specify if you wanted a headcanon or a scenario ANDyou only gave me one character, I went ahead and did a scenario. I hope it’snot too cheesy or anything and that I actually did a good job of writing it. Enjoy reading!
Kokichi Ouma
There are a lot of holidays out there, both big and small. You haveholidays like Christmas, that seem to last an entire season, and then you haveones like Valentine’s Day, which only matter to a select group of people. Thereare those out there that don’t really care about any holiday in particular, andthen you have the people that try to take every opportunity to celebrateanything, no matter how small.
Kokichi was the type to celebrate anything. Your lil significant otherdidn’t really do it because the holidays meant very much to him, but if he hadsomeone to spend the day with and he could twist it into something thatentertained him, then yes, he wasvery keen on making it a huge spectacle. He just wanted to have fun.
It was why you two were walking down the street to a specific destinationhe had in mind.
“Hey, Kokichi? Are you sure we have to do this? I don’t know if I’m inthe mood to eat a million chocolate-coated biscuit sticks today.”
“What?” He turned around andbegan walking backwards, a bright smile on his face despite his increduloustone. While most of the time he would usually walk by your side with your handin his, his excitement got the better of him today and he had been happilyskipping in front of you for the majority of your journey. “Y/N! It’s PockyDay! You’re supposed to do just that.”
You raised your hand a bit and your expression turned to worry. Thelittle jerk almost tripped up on his feet while he talked.
“B-but-“
“Don’t worry! If you get sick, I’ll rush you to the hospital myself! Ican’t have my little schmootzy-wootzy-sweetie-pieget hurt, can I?” In the middle ofhis sentence, he stopped walking and nearly lunged at you, his hands grippingthe sides of your face, fingers pinching your cheeks playfully. “Aw, look atyou, your face is already scrunched up! Is that why you don’t want to do this?Did you already eat a million pocky sticks today? I knew it!”
“N-no, Kokichi!” Despite the redness you could feel on your cheeks, youwere laughing in between your words. “My face is scrunched cause of you!”
He laughed loudly and then continued even when you gripped his face aswell. Instead of pinching his cheeks like he was doing to you, you squished hisface together and your heart tugged with affection when you saw how cute hestill looked. It was almost enough to get jealous over, but you didn’t reallycare about it since you got to see him often enough. It wasn’t like you got tolook at your own face all the time.
Even though you were only staring in silence for a few seconds, it wasenough for him to notice.
“Hey, hey!” He lightly patted one side of your face with his hand. “Imight be cute and all, but we’re out in public! Don’t go embarrassing me! Youcan look at me all you want later, you creep!”
You hit him.
After the little speedbump, you both continued walking to yourdestination with no more fuss. While some decorations for Pocky day started toslowly come into your view, you couldn’t help but feel a little bubble ofexcitement build up in your chest. Kokichi often took you out on weird trips asdates and while sometimes you weren’t so sure about them at first, they allended with a good time in some way or another.
There was that one time you went to a clothing outlet only to end upjoining a fashion contest. He took you out to eat once at a place that had, astitled, ‘The Spiciest Chicken You’ll EVERTaste!’ and made you both eat it… He also once brought you to a ‘friend’sbirthday party and it ended up with you both not knowing the guest of honor inthe first place so you really just crashed it. Another date included him takingyou to a so-called art exhibit, only to find out that all of the art inside wasmade by him and him only.
The little bubble of excitement quickly turned to suspicion. Yes, youloved spending time with Kokichi. Yes, you loved him a lot. Yes, he made youhappy. However, upon recalling all of the fun times you’ve spent with him, youremembered one important fact about your purple friend. He always had something up his sleeve.
As you walked into the part of the streets that were crowded withcelebration and happiness, Kokichi grabbed ahold of your hand, and through theloud noise of people, you heard your boyfriend’s infamous giggle.
What did he have plannedthis time?!
While he pulled you behind him, your eyes narrowed, looking around atall of the events that you could see.
There were a few attendants handing out free pocky. A group had gatheredaround a giant box of pocky with a screen that had a digital clock on it. Aftera few seconds passed, the clock stopped at 12:14 and you heard a chorus ofdisappointed ‘Oooh’s. A few more stands seemed to have games setup with people surroundingthem, but do you know what all of that stuff had in common? None of it, nothingat all was suspicious!
While you were busy trying to find out your boyfriend’s plan, he hadmanaged to sneak a peek back at you without you noticing. Oh, he thought it wasso cute how your eyebrows were narrowed and how your mouth was pulled into anangry pout. You looked so childish! He knew exactly what you were doing, and hewas glad that you caught onto something, but you weren’t quite on the righttrack.
“Hey, would you look at that! That looks fun!” He caught your attentionagain and with a tug of your hand, he pulled you towards a stand with streamerslining the sides. It didn’t look like there was many people lined up for it, soit didn’t seem like it would take long for you two to partake in whatever itwas. All could see was people chatting there and some pocky lined up on thetable itself, but you weren’t quite sure what was hey you’re passing the tableand now you’re out of the crowd.
“Hey! Earth to Y/N!” Kokichi was still leading you, but now you werejust barely on the outskirts of the commotion that Pocky Day brought with it. “Overthere, that restaurant looks like fun!”
And that was when you saw what he had been really gesturing towards whenhe began leading you earlier. Beyond the view of the stand that you had thoughtyou were going towards, was a little restaurant nestled in between the manystores that lined the streets.
With a sigh, you both walked in, your feelings of suspicion dwindling. You had to wonder how much of a genius Kokichi was. Was it his plan to take youon a ridiculous number of crazy dates in order to make you overthink today? Didhe plan months and months ahead of time just to get you all frazzled over justa simple dinner date? You didn’t really know… But you had a feeling that youwere probably just getting carried away you’re your thoughts again.
As soon as you two were inside and sitting down, you began chatting likea couple usually would. You both placed your orders and began the usual routineof waiting for your food.
“So? What do you think? Doesn’t this place look fancy?”
“Yeah.” You looked around, not caring much about the aesthetics of theplace. “I guess it does.”
“You guess?” He puffed out hischeeks. “Y/N, I picked this place out just for you! I know you like places thatlook nice, and it also has your favorite dish on the menu!”
You eyed him, taking a sip of your drink.
“Mhm. Or was that just a lie?”
“Nishishishi~. You’re sosmart, Y/N. But what makes you think I’m lying?” Instead of waiting for you toanswer, he placed his hand underneath the table. It seemed like he was tryingto look for something in his pocket. “Waiting for food is so boring. Why notplay a game with me?”
Grabbing what he was looking for, he pulled out a box of strawberry pockyand shook it, showing it off to you.
“Do you know how this game goes, Y/N?” Pulling out a stick, he tapped itagainst his lips, adorning an expectant look in his eyes. “You kiss me and Igive you a stick as a treat~!”
“That’s not how the gameworks.” You took the stick from his hand and shoved the edge of it between his lips.“Plus, this table puts us too far apart to play properly.”
“Not if we both really leanin~.” You laughed.
“You can get your kisses after dinner!”

I really love your blog, and I think all the meta you write is fantastic, especially anything you write about Ouma. I feel like I'm learning more about the game every time I come on here, and I wanted to show my support and thank you! I also wanted to ask about Ouma's room; specifically, I wanted to ask about why you think he has a statue of Rantaro hanging upside down, and why it was specifically Rantaro. Once again, thank you so much, and I hope you have a good day!
Thank you so much, anon! I appreciate all the support, and I’mso glad that I’ve been able to help people understand the game or Ouma better!I have so much fun writing here, and getting really nice asks like this keepsme motivated and looking forward to it every day!
This is actually a very fun question, more than you would initiallythink! Ouma and Amami are actually very, very similar in terms of motivations, and also their thought processes. Both are incredibly intelligent, both wantedto stop the killing game itself, and both were ultimately incapable of trustinganyone but themselves because of the doubt and suspicion thrust upon them in asituation as horrible as a killing game.
Talking about this in-depth will require covering quite alot from all the chapters of the game, including Chapter 6, so if you aren’tcomfortable with being spoiled for end-game material, please don’t read anyfarther! I want to clear up the questions in detail, so it’ll be very long probably!
Discussing why Ouma had the Amami statue in his room is…fun, because as with most answers, there’s a short and a long one. At least part ofit is quite simply that Ouma was investigating absolutely everything about the previous cases, as shown by his pile ofevidence that he hoarded which included things like the kagonoko ritual book, atire from the swimming pool, and the drone that Miu created back in Chapter 1for the library surveillance. Taking Amami’s statue from Angie’s research labwas Ouma’s way of snatching at least one more thing for the sake of evidence.
Suspending it over his bed, of course, was probably justOuma being a prankster at heart. Part of it might even have had practical uses—thereare several inventions Ouma asked Miu to make him strewn about his room whenSaihara and Maki go to investigation in Chapter 6, as well as diagrams of otherthings he wanted her to make that she never got a chance to. A likely guesswould suggest he was using the statue as a test dummy of sorts. He probably hada lot of fun with it, too. There’s plenty of things that show that he wastrying to keep his spirits up whenever he was alone in his room, including thelittle doodle on his whiteboard, and the hilarious horse mask on his bed (whichwas also, if you’ll believe it or not, a clue intentionally left for Saihara).
It is, in fact, kind of hilarious to picture Ouma talking tothe Amami statue for “moral support” or to keep himself motivated. While Idoubt it was ever a particularly deep thing, I could definitely see room forheadcanons in which he probably made comments about “Amami-chan being his onlyfriend,” or something else sarcastic along those lines.
As for why he tookan interest in Amami specifically…now that’s where things get interesting.
As we know, Amami dies first and without being able to tellalmost anything about the full extent of what he knew about the killing game toeveryone. He clearly alluded to knowing crucial information, including thingsabout the SHSL Hunt, and he very obviously had his own plan in mind to stop themastermind, probably by exposing them rather than killing them, and thereforeto end the killing game.
Chapter 6 confirms all of this, as well as the fact thatAmami was a survivor from a previous killing game, earned himself the SHSLSurvivor talent as a result, and willingly signed up to enlist in the nextkilling game show. As the survivor of the previous killing game, although hestill had to have his memories wiped to participate like everyone else, he wasallowed two particular “survival advantages” which were supposed to give him anedge in the next game. The first was a video of himself recorded on a USBdrive, stashed away in his research lab.
This video itself is where he confirms with his own mouththe things I’ve already mentioned, and he clearly displays very cautious behaviorwhen it comes to matters concerning the mastermind, saying that if Amami hasreached the point where he can watch the video, then “his plan must havealready failed.” Given that Amami’s lab is all the way on the 5thfloor, and that accessing it would therefore mean that the killing game neededto progress quite a long way, it’s easy to guess that that his plan wasto target the mastermind and the killing game itself, and that watching thevideo was a sign that things had already continued too long.
His second advantage was an additional Monopad whichcontained a map of the entire school as early as Chapter 1. He was able toleave himself a note on this Monopad which displayed upon start-up, andconfirmed that the mastermind was, in fact, within the school, and that the hiddenroom in the library was where the mastermind would go whenever Monokuma was inneed of a replacement. This note was even titled by him, “A Hint in Order toEnd the Killing Game.”
Given all of this crucial information which he held, it’seasy to see why Tsumugi killed him when he began snooping around far too muchfor her liking. The tragedy is that he wouldn’t have even risked trying outthis “hint” if it hadn’t been for the desperation of the 2-day time limit.Everyone in the entire group remarks later on that it was a shame he died soearly, once they realize what a crucial asset he might have been by knowing somuch more about the SHSL Hunt and potentially about the outside world than therest of them did.
If the rest of the group found it a shame, then Ouma musthave been frustrated beyond belief, and fascinated. Like himself, Amami wassomeone who wanted to target not the individual case-by-case culprits, but thelarger overall problem of the killing game broadcast, and of the mastermind. Hewas clearly smart, cool in a crisis, and able to solve puzzles and thinkrationally judging by the hints and clues he left for himself in his lab. Hewas far more likeminded with Ouma than many of the other characters, judging bythe fact that even while knowing where the mastermind was and that they were,in fact, in the school, he seemed to want to approach their lair to exposethem, not to kill them.
But he died far, far too early, and without being able totell almost anything about what he knew. It had to have driven Ouma up the wall, and that is precisely why I thinkhe latched onto Amami as an important source of information, even if he wasunder the mistaken impression just like everyone else that he had actually beenkilled by Kaede. He clearly knew that researching what Amami knew that the restof them didn’t was the quickest way to get himself closer to the truth, and Ibelieve his stealing Amami’s statue reflects the interest that he developed.
Ouma was desperate to solve things. What people don’trealize about him is that he’s not only “really smart,” he’s terrifyingly smart. He realized thingsabout Amami and his talent, and was thoroughly investigating the entire schoolas early as Chapters 3 and 4, long before any of the rest of the group caughtonto anything—and they only caught onto the clues they did specifically becauseOuma made sure they would find them.
When Saihara actually manages to reach Amami’s lab inChapter 6, using Kiibo to quite literally blast the door open, it turns outthat Ouma has already been there long before the rest of them (most likelyusing the inventions Miu made for him in order to take care of hidden camerasand to disable the locks on the door).
In order to open the safe with the USB drive and video, there’s a puzzle involving dials with signs from both the western and Chinesezodiacs, and the safe only opens if you can turn the dial to the correct signfrom both. Given that there are 12 options for both, this leaves 144 possiblecombinations, and Saihara and Himiko both freak out for a bit upon realizinghow long this would take them with a time limit so close at hand—until Saihararealizes that Ouma had already left them the clues they needed all along.
For the western zodiac dial, the answer is Gemini. And Oumahad left a hint scrawled on the garden boiler room, saying “ro wa futago,” or “The‘ro’ dial is ‘twins.’” As for the “i” dial, with the Chinese zodiac, the answeris horse. And the hint for this was a little trickier to figure out, as itdates all the way back to the mysterious message scrawled on the stone in thegarden which Gonta discovered back in Chapter 4: “’i’ wa ‘uma,’” or “The ‘i’dial is ‘horse.’”
The “’i’ wa ‘uma’” message later became “kono sekai wa OumaKokichi no mono,” or, “The world belongs to Ouma Kokichi,” by the end ofChapter 4, after Ouma’s grand performance of officially taking the villainmantle. I have absolutely no idea how they’re going to manage this particularlittle word-puzzle in the English localization, but I’m fascinated, because itwas brilliant. And the fact that Ouma had already been sneaking throughout theschool and leaving them with tools to open Amami’s lab so early on isincredibly brilliant because he left the clues so gradually and so mysteriouslythat no one, not even Tsumugi, caught onto what he was doing.
(This is also what I meant about the horse mask also being aclue, just in case the actual message itself was too long ago for anyone toremember. Ouma clearly just wanted to make them think about horses, if they hadto take a blind guess.)
If I sound like I’m gushing a little here, it’s because I’mstill not sure I’m getting across how smart and how calculated Ouma was. Amami’slab didn’t even open up until after Chapter 3, with Korekiyo’s execution. Thismeans that literally as soon as the 5th floor opened up, he wasrecruiting Miu to make inventions vital to the group’s survival and which couldmanipulate all electronic devices. He stole the keycard from the rest of thegroup and used it to check on the state of the outside world with his own twoeyes by completing the platforming mini-game by himself. And he used Miu’s inventions to bust his way into Amami’s lab, watched everything on the USB drive and began piecing together the things Amamimust have known about the outside world, the broadcast, and the mastermind, andleft essential clues for Saihara and the others to find.
Ouma absolutely intended to make sure the rest of the groupcould reach these clues, as shown by the letter found in his room in Chapter 6.On the envelope, it’s titled, “Isho (ja nai yo),” which roughly translates to “Thisis (not) a will/suicide note.” As Maki and Saihara surmise, the fact that hewent out of his way to mark it as “not” a will or suicide note (“isho” roughlytranslates to any message or note left behind by a dead person) was Ouma’s wayof trying to lie/joke around the fact that it absolutely was his will and testament. And following the puzzles to the clueshe had left behind was literally the primary reason Saihara and the others wereable to discover anything at all anduncover the truth in Chapter 6.
The end of this very long answer is that we don’t discoveruntil near the very end that Ouma had been researching Amami thoroughly andnear-obsessively in order to uncover the truth about things, but clearly thisinvestigation had been going on since almost the very beginning, probably rightafter Amami’s death when the whole group realized that he had known far, farmore about the outside world than he’d ever gotten to tell him. He looked intohis case, uncovered Amami’s lab and his talent ages before anyone, and put allthe information he learned from Amami to vital use in order to further his ownplans and help everyone else stay alive and reach the truth.
Him taking Amami’s statue specifically reflected hisinterest, and I think had Amami actually lived longer he and Ouma would havemade for a potentially interesting duo, although it’s arguable whether theywould ever have been able to confide in each other or trust each other. WhileAmami certainly wanted to trust the rest of the group and was more inclined todo so, given his protective big brother-like nature, Ouma is still ultimately askeptic through and through, and being unable to eradicate all the possibilitiesmeans he would likely have still kept observing Amami from the shadows.
Still, if some kind of tag-team had formed between them theway Ouma tried to strike up a semi-alliance with Miu, that would have beenabsolutely fascinating. The two of them had similar motivations and goals, andgiven how incredibly smart the both of them were, Tsumugi would probably havebeen sweating bullets if such an alliance had ever come to pass. Amami’sinterest in stopping the game without wanting to kill anyone was also what Iwould wager intrigued Ouma the most, as it reflected his own goals, and it’swhy I can see oumami working as a very interesting and fun dynamic as a shipeven though the two of them canonically didn’t interact at all.
Amami’s statue was a hilarious find because it confusedpeople and boggled them, and it seemed so weirdto just be hanging in Ouma’s room like that. And while I’m sure Ouma didprobably view stealing the statue as some kind of prank to some degree, there’salso so much more to it under the surface, because it’s very clear that he wasincredibly interested in Amami’s identity and what he knew that the rest ofthem didn’t.
This is incredibly long by this point so I’ll stop, but Iwanted to discuss these details at length because I haven’t seen literallyanyone at all talking about these things, and they were so much fun to gothrough and notice in Chapter 6 while I was watching. I hope I’ve shed somelight on the subject, and if anyone wants to reblog this in order to clear upthe questions people have had, that’d be fantastic!

Data-driven government? Part one
Everyone (well, some people in SW1) got very excited when Boris Johnson's Tory leadership campaign was able to predict how many votes he would get from MPs, using that most advanced of digital tools - a spreadsheet. It's always encouraging when politicians appreciate the power of data, but now that campaigning has turned into governing, what might we expect from the new government?
In Number 10 itself, there is a fervent advocate of the better use of data: Dominic Cummings, senior adviser to the new prime minister. His blog has a number of entries about how evidence and data science could be better used by governments in making decisions - the most recent post before he entered government is one of the most relevant, taking in data visualisation, cognitive technologies and how to go about 'making it as easy to insert facts, data, and models in political discussion as it is to insert emoji'. See also this post from March. Matt Jukes, Politico, Civil Service World and Lewis have all had a go at summarising some of Cummings' musings - try Tom Peck for a counterpoint - and former Number 10 adviser, Rohan Silva, has also urged the government to take advantage of new thinking and new technology.
Of course, when most people think of Dominic Cummings and data, it's likely to be with campaigning during the EU referendum in mind. His blog has a number of responses to reports in The Guardian and elsewhere (as well as various pieces on the use of data in political campaigning more generally).
The first time I ever came across Cummings was while I was at the Media Standards Trust, and then-FT journalist Chris Cook was digging into Michael Gove, the mysterious 'Mrs. Blurt' and the Department for Education's compliance (or lack thereof) with the Freedom of Information Act. While Gove was Lord Chancellor and justice secretary, responsibility for FoI was transferred from the Ministry of Justice to the Cabinet Office. Gove is now the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, in... yes, the Cabinet Office.
Next week, we'll look at what the ministers now responsible for data in government have said in the past.
Have a great weekend
Gavin

I did not mean to imply that Kokichi is a twisted sociopath. I REALLY don't want to perceive him that way, but a lot of people see him like that. And it kinda feels... unnatural for me. To go to your blog, to see portrayals of him as a leader, as a boy who is rude, callous and a trickster, but who still cares about his classmates with all his heart, who did horrible things out of desire to help others, to see him as a human instead of the evil incarnate. "There must be some kind of a mistake" I
think, "You must have been mistaken about something. How the hell can you interpret him as a flawed, twisted(in later chapters) but still likeable human being? It's clearly wrong because he is a villain" I don't allow myself to even slightly ponder the fact that Kokichi has feelings, that he is not a sociopath that enjoys human suffering, because for some reason it is WRONG. And I don't want to see him as "Nagito + Junko + Hiyoko but worse", but somehow in my head every interpretation of him
other that "sociopathic nazi gremlin" is WRONG and blasphemous. Somewhat like with Chara several years ago when I was into UT. I liked the Narrator/Player Chara theories because they showed Chara as a very flawed individual who did a lot of things wrong but also had many redeeming qualities despite that, because it gave them some depth instead of reducing them to the one-dimensional "for the evulz" villain and also provided an interesting deconstruction of game mechanics(narration, interaction
game mechanics. But the voice in my head kept telling me that this game mechanics. But the voice in my head kept telling me that this interpretation is wrong, completely not canon in the slightest bit, Chara is pure evil, you are just stupid for daring to assume sth else about them. Because of it, I eventually started to hate Undertale and everything pertaining to it. This is a very simular thing to my Undertale experience. Surfing this blog and finding UT and DRV3 content made me realise that.
----------------------------------------------------------
All right gonna assume the rant is done here since that last ask looks like the end but tbh it doesn’t really matter because this is basically pushing my boundaries here and I’m getting really tired of this nonsense in my ask box.
Because gonna be blunt Anon, this sounds like a “you” problem.
First of all--this blog, impytricky, has over 900 followers. Meaning that ~900 people follow this blog and agree with the notion that Kokichi is not a terrible person. My blog over at @unweavinglies has over three hundred with a significant drop in total posts on that blog, and my theories there often get hundreds and hundreds of notes. People who don’t even follow this blog or that one will reblog my analysis posts in agreement.
So a lot of people see Kokichi as less “evil” and more morally grey. Actually, I’ve seen more positive interpretations of Kokichi than I’ve seen people making him into a true villain. That’s because making him a pure evil little bastard is kind of really boring and misses the entire point of his character and character arc.
You probably don’t see a lot of the “good” interpretations of Kokichi because you don’t go looking for it/ignore it/dismiss it when you come across it. Probably. Like how I see less of the villain interpretation because I don’t go looking for it/dismiss it/whatever.
Second of all: Kokichi is technically not a villain. While I still go by the policy that all interpretations are valid, it’s not canon that he is a “villain.” Narratively speaking, Kokichi is an anti-hero. An anti-hero is “a central character in a story, movie, or drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes,“ and yes, can be antagonists. Antagonists does not equal Villain, however. Anti-heroes are often marked by the idea of a hero doing bad things for the greater good.
Third of all: Please for the love of god cut that shit out with the Nazi thing. Kokichi is not a Nazi. I hated this stupid misconception before and I still hate it now--it’s offensive, outside of fiction, and it’s just plain inaccurate either way. This misconception comes from the fact that Japan especially tends to romanticize military attire, including attire in WWII Germany, which shows up in Kokichi’s hat in one promo picture. Another reason this misconception is the bane of my existence is because some fantranslator translated Kokichi’s ultimate talent to be “Ultimate Dictator” when it was apparently able to be translated as “Ultimate President” or “Ultimate Leader”. The Nazi misconception is just that--a huge misconception created by poor taste in design and fantranslations being inaccurate.
Please for the love of god, take that thought and unlearn it now. Seriously, it’s offensive. Stop it.
Fourth of all: This is where I see that this is more of a you problem above everything else. From what you’ve said, you seem to deem “morally grey” characters as “evil” or “Villainous” which comes with black or white thinking. From my perspective, what I’m hearing is “I can’t see shades of grey, so this must be black because it is not white.”
Let me ask you: Gonta Gokuhara. Whether or not Kokichi showed him the flashbacklight due to “””Evil””” intentions or whatever, he chose to kill Miu. Kokichi did not “trick” him into it, nor was he able to force Gonta into it via blackmail or what have you. Gonta chose to kill Miu of his own accord. This is a straight up canon fact. He chose to kill Miu because he believed that Mercy Killing her and everyone else before they found out the secret of the outside world would be kinder. This is canon fact that really cannot be disputed.
Let me ask you--is Gonta evil all of a sudden because he chose to kill someone? That he was aiming to kill everyone?
What about Frisk--or the player, in undertale--who has to actively choose to genocide run the game? Are players who choose ths path evil all of a sudden? What about Frisk, who would also be making this decision? Deltarune has implied that “Chara”, or the demon or whatever, is a separate entity that can control the character we play and we can’t control them when they’re in control. Meaning that for the whole Genocide route, Frisk had to actively choose to kill every single monster underground. If you go by the theory that the player isn’t just controlling their movements at any rate, you can see Chara take control in when thy kill Sans and Flowey. Yes, this means that Chara was not in control before then, thus putting the blame for most of the Genocide run on the player, or Frisk.
Yet the choice to do a pacifist run is there too. So which is it? What’s evil, and what isn’t evil? Can you really call Frisk pure good or evil? What about the player? What about Gonta?
That is the complexity of grey morality--the answer isn’t black or white and can’t be so simplified. Because what’s kinder, in Gonta’s case--killing everyone, or letting them find out that basically all of humanity was wiped out off of the face of the earth and the killing game they were forced into was all for nothing? Sure it’s terrible to kill someone, but it’s also terrible to allow people to be mentally tortured too, which the outside world basically did to everyone when they did find out.
It sounds like you’re stuck in the mind set of things being black or white. If you want to see characters like Kokichi and Chara as morally grey, then you need to tell that voice that says otherwise to shush up. No one is perfectly evil, no one is perfectly good. Good people can do horrible, terrible things and still be good people. Bad people can also do very, very good things, and still be terrible people.
I won’t be answering asks like this again. Please refrain from shoving your opinions down my throat. Maybe you didn’t intend to, but you are with lines like "There must be some kind of a mistake" and "You must have been mistaken about something. How the hell can you interpret him as a flawed, twisted(in later chapters) but still likeable human being? It's clearly wrong because he is a villain" because yeah that’s basically ways of saying “You’re wrong about Kokichi and I don’t like your interpretation.”
