Priceless | Bang Chan | 04
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Pairing: rich kid! Bang Chan (Stray Kids) x female reader
Genre: Crime, enemies to friends to lovers, angst, fluff
Word Count: 3,4k
Summary: Chan knows. He knows who you are.
DISCLAIMER: Everything in this fanfic is fiction - that includes Chan’s fictional father who of course does not represent Chan’s real father! ♥
There he was, sitting in his chair while staring at you. One of the biggest and most successful journalists of Seoul Times and also your new boss. He was wearing a nice suit, probably Gucci or something. His hair was slicked back and he looked like he walked straight out of a magazine.
Before he could say anything you politely bowed. “Hello, Mr. Lee! My name is Y/N and Hana asked me to work next to you as your assistant. I hope that we can do a great job together.”, you said as politely as possible. Your hands were sweaty and you just hoped that you didn’t embarrass yourself.
Then you heard a laugh. “Why are you so formal? Okay, I get it, I’m your boss. But you look around my age. Please, call me Minho. Nice to meet you, Y/N.”, he got up and shook your hand.
You looked at him in shock. “Oh. I’m sorry. It’s just… you are such a big name around here. I wanted to be polite.”
He gave you a smile. “It’s okay, really! Oh, and I don’t usually wear this kind of attire. I just had an interview where they took pictures of me. Expect me to come here with my beloved sweatpants.”
You looked at him weirdly. Well, if you had such a high position you could do whatever you want. But he was a little too laidback. Not that it was bad but it was just unusual. “Okay. What should I do? Research? Edit articles?”
Minho sat back down and put his feet on his desk with his hands behind his head. “Is that what you have been doing the whole time? Editing?”
You nodded as you put your own stuff on your desk. “Yeah. So much for a journalistic degree, huh?”
Minho smirked. “Well, you aren’t here to do that. What is your dream? Tell me. You must have come here with something on your mind.”
You took a sip out of your water bottle as you thought about his question. “I guess writing the frontpage article? I actually asked Mr. Park and had a proposition but he didn’t see me as experienced enough.”
Minho played with his bracelet and then looked at you. “As you can see, we don’t have much of an age difference. Persistence is the key and a little help from someone who has experience. That would be me in this case. When I started here 4 years ago, I was doing the exact same thing as you but I convinced my supervisor that I was capable of doing more.”
“Are you saying that you want to help me?”, you asked in surprise.
He nodded confidently. “Yes! What do you want to write about?”
You hesitated for a second. Could you trust him? At the same time, this was your chance to finally do more than just editing. “Kevin Bang, how shitty of a person he is and all of his wrongdoings.”, you said in a serious tone.
Minho’s eyes widened a little at the mention of his name. “What? Kevin Bang? You do know that he has a lot of power over the media, don’t you?”
“There was this girl who exposed him at the gala, so there is already a lot of negative press. I have been doing a lot of research about him. I have more proof than any other reporter in this city.”, you said confidently.
Minho’s expression faltered. “What kind of proof?”
“I won’t show you that. If you help me with Mr. Park, I will write the article and when it’s finished, you can read over it. Is that alright with you? Because I’m still not done with my research.”, you told him, waiting for his response. You needed to make sure that you could trust him.
Then he looked at you with the same amount of confidence as you. “Okay. Just write your article and if it’s frontpage-worthy I will tell Mr. Park about it.”
You smiled brightly at him. “Thank you, Mr. L-, I mean Minho.” You were excited and would have hugged him immediately if he wasn’t your boss. Hana was right, you could learn from him and see it as an opportunity to gain more experience.
Your first workday with Minho was more than okay. You got to know each other and it turned at that he was a really nice guy. It helped that he was your age too. He must have been a super genius to graduate so early and get so many promotions at that age. He was impressive, you had to give him that.
Maybe Minho was your ladder to success.
♥.
Three weeks passed and Chan was still driving you to work and home. You were still helping him with university work. Every time Chan drove you home, he insisted on eating something together before dropping you off home. Your relationship developed more into a friendship. Chan made you laugh and you had to admit that you had a great time with him whenever he was with you. He always asked you if you were fine and if you didn’t, he would make sure that you would feel good again. It felt nice for change.
This time you met Chan at a place of your choice. It was actually a small tteobokki stand in your neighborhood. Chan was a little confused at first.
“You brought me here for tteobokki?”, he asked, not really happy about your choice.
“Look, to understand Shakespeare, you need to have a full stomach and the best ttebokki in town!”, you said and fed him with one rice cake. “Nice, right?”
Chan was chewing but his expression changed quickly into a happy one. You smiled at him knowingly. You couldn’t figure out how he could be so sweet but his father was not? “Okay, I need more of this!”, Chan said while eating one more, happily.
“I noticed that you were a little down today, so I thought I would take you to my favorite spot in my neighborhood.”, you smiled at him, genuinely. Of course, you wanted to know if it had something to do with his father but something deep inside of you was curious and cared about Chan’s own feelings and thoughts. But you were totally denying that.
This was the thing. You were starting to see Chan in a completely different light. Very different from his father. You still didn’t trust him because, after all, he still is a Bang. But he was gentle and caring. Whenever he noticed that you had a bad day, he would bring you chocolate after picking you up from work. It was the small things that made you think differently of him.
“Really? Thank you.”, he smiled as he continued to eat the delicious rice cakes.
“So, spill. What’s bothering you?”
Chan stopped eating and sighed. “Maybe not here.”
You looked at him, confused. “Where else?”
“Follow me.”
Before you knew it, you were back in Chan’s car, heading to an area in Seoul that you have never been to before. It was a very posh and rich area, which didn’t surprise you. But what surprised you wasn’t the villa that Chan parked his car in front of. No, in fact, it was the treehouse that was behind the villa which seemed to carry a lot of memories for Chan.
The treehouse however was at least 4 meters up and it looked huge. Perks of being a rich kid.
“You want me to climb up there?!”, you said, your eyes widening. You would probably break a bone. Hell, you would break ten.
“Don’t worry, Y/N. It’s safe, I promise!”, Chan assured you as he climbed up. You had to admit, the treehouse looked bigger than your apartment. Well, your apartment wasn’t that big either.
“If I break something, you have to buy me a new car!”, you said, jokingly, climbing the wobbly ladder. “Okay, I shouldn’t look down. Oh my god. Okay I looked down and that was the worst decision of my life!”
Chan smiled down at you as he watched you from the treehouse. “Are you afraid of heights?”
“A little.” That was the understatement of the century. You hated it. The background behind that was a kid that pushed you from the diving board when you were 6.
You were pretty far up and saw Chan’s face getting closer and closer. “Here, take my hand.”, he said as he reached out to you. You quickly grabbed his hand. You weren’t sure what kind of workout Chan did, but he pulled you up effortlessly but lost his balance and somehow you landed on top of him, your faces just a few centimeters apart.
“Thank you…”, you said, blushing furiously. What the hell? You shouldn’t be blushing, get your act together!
Chan cleared his throat as he looked at you. “Yeah, no problem.”
You quickly got up and looked around in the treehouse. It was decorated with tiny furniture. There was a rug where Chan sat down on. On the walls were pictures of his family, pictures which were probably drawn by Chan himself as a kid and a big teddy bear.
One picture piqued your interest. “Is this your mother?”
Chan stood up and stood next to you to inspect said picture. On the picture Chan looked around the age of 4 with his mother lifting him up in the air. Both of them looked happy. As if that was the happiest day of their lives.
Chan sighed a little. “Yeah. It was a year before she died.”
You have always wondered what really happened with his mother. The media never really spoke about Chan’s mother, probably because his father didn’t want it. “I’m sorry. What was the reason…? You don’t have to answer me though! Only if you are comfortable.”
Chan sat down on the rug again with you sitting closely next to him. “Oh, don’t worry. It was cancer but they found it in a very late stage. She had no chance of survival.”, he said, a hint of sadness in his voice.
Chan’s hand was right next to yours and you slowly put your hand on top his hand. “Everything happens for a reason. Even sad things like this.”
The young boy turned his head towards you. “Yeah. You’re right.”, he said as he took your hand and squeezed it. “The reason I took you here to talk is because I always come back here when I have a bad day. This house still belongs to dad and we used to live here when my mom was still alive. I think it’s the last memory I have left from her and coming back here feels like I’m getting motherly advice. I know it sounds stupid.”
You felt your heartbeat quicken, feeling his hand in yours. “No, it doesn’t. Everyone deals differently with their problems. I get it. No one will search for you here. I can see why you would come here.”
Chan completely turned to you. “I have a feeling that my dad doesn’t really trust me with his business. He is like a stranger sometimes. I feel like I only have a real father if I go to events with him. He is acting so strange when it comes to his job. I don’t know.”, he confessed.
The first thing that came to your mind was not “what is his father hiding?”, as it should have. No, you thought about Chan, who was telling you about his feelings and thoughts. You just wanted to hug him. “Is that what’s bothering you?”
He nodded. “Yeah. My problems sound like a luxury to you, right?”
You thought about it for a second. “No, not really. I may struggle with money but I am truly happy when it comes to my family. You know… My father struggled a lot in the past. We lost everything because of some things and people in the past. But he never gave up on us. And not having a proper family sounds horrible to me. So, no. Your problems aren’t a luxury.”
“This is the first time that someone listened. I mean, really listened. Thank you, Y/N.”
Chan’s eyes never left yours. The air somehow thickened. You could have cut the tension with a knife. Before you knew it, both of you were inching closer to each other slowly. You didn’t know what was happening. It was as if your body was reacting on its own.
Before anything could happen, your phone rang and you quickly sprang apart. You then came back to your senses. You couldn’t fall for him. Never. You were planning on destroying his father. This was the last thing you should do!
“Uh… I should take this. I’ll go down… And then you can drive me home.”
Chan just nodded, not able to say anything after that weird situation.
♥.
You decided to not bring that almost kiss thing up again. Chan didn’t bring it up either. You were both talking about your feelings that day and you were emotional. Things like that can happen, right? Maybe. Maybe not.
You didn’t want to think about that moment because it made you feel weird. You felt flustered, your hands felt sweaty, so no. This was not the right feeling towards someone whose last name is Bang.
However, you couldn’t risk losing him because you still needed him for your article. This time, you invited him over to your little apartment because he was about to write his exam about Shakespeare and you wanted to study with him in a cozy environment. And nothing screamed more cozy than your apartment. You had told Jisung to go out so that he wouldn’t see Chan. He assumed that it was for a date and still teased you about it.
You were a little nervous for Chan to come to your apartment. Not only because of the whole treehouse incident but more because of the fact that you were hiding the true reason why you were spending time with him.
To make him feel more welcome, you decided to bake some cookies. They were in the oven and waited to be eaten. Then you heard the bell and you quickly let Chan in. “You look cold!”, you said and ushered him in.
“It is cold.”, he said and looked around in your apartment. “Looks cozy.”
You nodded. “I know, right?”
Chan then sat down on the couch of your living room and looked at you. “So, I brought my Shakespeare stuff. I hope I will pass the test without any problems.”, he said and smiled. “But with you as my teacher, I will pass for sure.”
You blushed a little. “No! You are a good student. Don’t pin this on me!”, you smiled at him and sat down next to him.
Chan sighed happily. “Isn’t it weird to sit here? You didn’t really like me and your car doesn’t work because of me. And yet, we’re here and you help me with Shakespeare.”
You felt a pang of guilt hit you because of the boy sitting right next to you. “Yeah. I guess my love for Shakespeare saved you, huh?”
He chuckled. “Thank god for Shakespeare.”, then Chan stopped and sniffed. “Uh… It smells like something is burning?”
Then your eyes widened. “Fuck! My cookies!”, you quickly ran to the kitchen to find very black cookies that looked inedible now. You immediately turned the oven off and were met with black smoke.
Chan opened the window of your kitchen. “Why did you make cookies?”, he said and laughed hysterically at your baking fail.
“I just wanted to make something sweet. It helps while studying.”, you pouted. “Damn it.”
Chan walked up to you and took your face in his hands, making your heartbeat quicken. He squished your cheeks together so you had to pout more. “Don’t be sad. Let’s make another batch and then we can eat them, alright?”
You put your hands on top of his and pushed them down. “Yes, sir.”, you said while trying to hide your embarrassment. “Okay, I bet you never baked before.”
Chan looked offended and dramatically put his hand on his chest. “Why would you say that? I could be a great baker!”
You gave him a deadpanned look. “You are rich, Chan.”, you said while your facial expression literally said: “Of course, you never baked.”
He sighed. “Okay, I don’t cook or bake often. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t have a secret talent?”, he then laughed.
You grinned at him. “Yeah, sure. Let me take out the ingredients and then we’ll start.”
Before you knew it, you were baking with Bang Chan. He helped you measure all the ingredients and for a moment you felt like you were in a relationship. As if he was your boyfriend and everything was fine. You quickly gave yourself a reality check. You were here with him for your own selfish reasons.
“Hey, Y/N.”, Chan said while you were stirring the batter.
“Huh?”, you looked up at the boy who was eating some chocolate chips. “Don’t eat that!”
“Stop nagging. You have something on your face.”, he then said with a sly grin on his face.
“What? What is it?”, you said in panic, wiping your whole face. “Where is it? Is it gone?”
Chan stepped closer to you. “It’s right… here!”, Chan smeared some flour on your face.
“Oh no. You did not do that!”, you squeaked and giggled as you threw some flour at Chan’s face. It was way more than what Chan threw.
Chan stopped for a second. “Oh, it’s on!”
After that short sentence a flour war broke out. Chan was hiding behind the little kitchen island and then you were running around, making everything dirty. Suddenly, you slipped on the flour, right on top of Chan who held you but slipped due to the same reasons.
You were laughing hysterically on the floor. Once again, everything seemed so simple and natural between the two of you. You couldn’t believe that he was the son of the man who destroyed your parents’ lives. “Who is going to clean this up?”, Chan asked, still laughing.
You just looked in his eyes, not daring to look away. “I don’t know. The kitchen fairies?”, you said, still lying on top of him.
“Yeah. I don’t think so.”, Chan said, also looking at you. The look he gave you made you feel weak in your knees. What the hell was happening?
You then slowly got up and tried to clean the flour in the kitchen and on yourselves. “Just because we wanted to bake some stupid cookies.”, you said but with a smile on your face.
“Well at least now they are in oven and hopefully will not burn!”
“I should probably take a quick shower. Don’t be shy to take anything you want. Feel at home, Chan.”, you assured him as you went to the bathroom.
Chan then was left alone in your apartment. He sat down on your couch for a few minutes, thinking about what happened in the kitchen just now. He thought about how much he enjoyed your company. It was weird but he didn’t mind the feeling that come when he sees you.
He didn’t know why but he somehow felt drawn to your bedroom and you did say that he can feel at home. Curiosity got the best of him and he went into your bedroom, just to have a look. Because a bedroom says a lot about you as a person.
He entered the room and was greeted with pastel colors. Your room was clean but your desk was a mess. Must have been from work, Chan thought. But then, something caught his eye. On your desk, he found a folder with the name Kevin Bang on it. Chan took the folder and while going through it he found a lot of information on his father. But not only that, there were more scandals and bad publicity than anything positive. Chan didn’t know what to think of this.
He then turned around to see something red that caught his eye poking out of your closet. As he walked closer to it, he saw that it was a dress, with a mask hanging from the clothing hanger. Chan’s eyes widened as he connected the dots. The information on his father and then this dress?
Chan would recognize that dress anywhere. The dress that destroyed his father’s reputation. The dress the woman who danced with him wore. The dress that shouldn't be here. Chan started shaking from anger and disappointment. What the hell was he doing here? His heartbeat quickened and his palms were sweaty. He started shaking a little bit because of the feeling of frustration. The boy was trying to stay calm as he took deep breaths.
Chan didn’t hear you coming in with wet hair and some loose clothes, trying to dry your hair with a towel. But as soon as you saw him staring at the dress, you dropped the towel in shock.
He turned to you with an expression that was unreadable.
You started shaking in fear. “I can explain.”, you said, breathing shakily.
Chan just stared at you, waiting for an answer.
Shit.
♥.
Author’s Note: Chapter 4 is here and Chan finally found out. What do you think his reaction will be? I hope you like it!

My Big ‘Miss Sherlock’ Theory
Tumblr media
With only 3 episodes in, the no-context-scenes from previous trailers, the names of future episodes, the chracters bios and my undying love for Sherlock and crazy theories, here is my idea of what could/would happen in Miss Sherlock.
1- The Big Evil The only two people that are not listed as original chracters nor have their canon equivalent in their bio: Mariko Irikawa and Toru Moriya (top right corner)
Tumblr media
Mariko is already fishy, I think we all agree on that one. Since the beginning I’ve been scared of the little ‘Trust’ label that comes from Wato. So, obviously, it would play a huge part in the development of the plot/the conclusion of the first season. Also, she will see Wato at her most vulnerable self:
Tumblr media
I think she is the one behind Little Dipper, if not the big schemer at least the one who recluits people who seek her counselling (Akiko Mizuno and Yuma Shiina probably)
Tumblr media
If Mariko ends up being ‘Professor James Moriarty’, then Wato is feeding her first hand information on Sherlock’s methods. Then we have this scene:
Tumblr media
Wato pointing a gun towards Sherlock. My guess is that Mariko will make Wato believe that Sherlock is some kind of evil that need to be rid of. (The other possibility is that Sherlock is testing Wato’s loyalty.) Moving on, we have Toru Moriya
Tumblr media
Toru will appear next episode (The Wakasugi Family Curse) and will be Wato’s next love interest. The HBOAsia chart has the ‘Love?’ label and it goes both ways.
Tumblr media
The little question mark make me believe he has other intentions altogether, manipulation is a high one on my list.
Tumblr media
The chart above is Hulu’s. Different characters have different backgrounds. Sherlock, Wato, Kimie and Kento: red Reimon and Shibata: green Mariko and Toru?: dark grey My theory is that Toru will be our ‘Coronel Sebastian Moran’, his bio describes him like this: “A war journalist who returned to Japan after going through a similar experience as Dr. Wato and he too suffers from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He and Dr. Wato meet at the clinic they go to for counselling and the two get along well and gradually grows into a romance.”
Tumblr media
The other big one is that he will be our ‘Mary Morstan’, but I think it’s highly unlikely unless they mix Mary’s character with Moran’s. (Also, I’m sure he will hurt Wato, and I already hate him for it....) 2- Sherlock’s past It has to be addressed at some point, and it may even have to do with Little Dipper at a larger scale.
Tumblr media
Let’s see three other bios:
Yuko Takeuchi plays Sherlock who was born in England and have returned to Japan. Sherlock uses her extraordinary observation and reasoning skills to help solve bizarre cases as an investigation consultant for the local police. She lost both her parents to a plane accident when she was 7 years old and since been emotionally detached to everything and everyone around her.
Yukiyoshi Ozawa plays Kento Futaba who is Sherlock’s older brother and is also the Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister. Since their parents deaths, Kento has always looked after Sherlock and begins to worry about her as she becomes emotionally detached.
Ran Ito plays Kimie Hatano who is the widowed landlord of Sherlock’s apartment. Kimie’s late husband was an employee at a trading company who was kidnapped for ransom by terrorists while on an assignment in the Middle East. It was Sherlock’s father who was a diplomat in the Middle East, who saved him from his captors. Since then, Kimie continues to support Sherlock as a show of gratitude to her father.
Tumblr media
To me, Little Dipper will have to do with Sherlock’s parents’ death, as her father was involved in big diplomatic matters after all, and Little Dipper seems to think at large scale (possibly a global one). Also, we have the W-E-L-C-O-M-E:
Tumblr media
I don’t think it’ll be meant for a client, but for Sherlock coming back to Japan... 3- Stella Maris When I first saw the list of episodes my mind went directely to the sea (we have a lighthouse in my town which is called like that). So my former thought was ‘Victor Trevor’ and ‘The Gloria Scott’.
Tumblr media
My hopes for that story specifically are lower now, but through the canon we have several stories to do with the sea (or large masses of water):
The Gloria Scott: In The Adventure of the Gloria Scott, Holmes spends a month with a college friend at his friend’s father’s estate. Here, the story of a long forgotten ship, the Gloria Scott, its convict passengers bound for Australia, and its mutinous crew first comes to light.
The Bruce Partington Plans: Mycroft asks Sherlock to retrieve the missing plans for the Bruce-Partington submarine.
The Naval Treaty: Percy Phelps, an old schoolmate of Watson’s,  had the misfortune to lose a top secret naval treaty, as it was stolen from his desk.
The Five Orange Pips: The tale of John Openshaw, whose family appears to be cursed. His uncle, upon receiving an envelope containing five orange pips, died mysteriously. Sadly for Holmes, the possibility of revenge sinks, along with the ship carrying the wanted murders back to America.
The sign of (the) four: [...]“And there is the Aurora,” exclaimed Holmes, “and going like the devil! Full speed ahead, engineer.  Make  after  that  launch  with  the  yellow  light.  By heaven, I shall  never  forgive myself if she proves to have the heels of us!” [...] “We must catch her!” cried Holmes between his teeth. “Heap it on, stokers! Make her do all she can! If we burn the boat we must have them!" They eventually do overtake the Aurora,  but  sadly  for  Holmes, although he has caught his man, the treasure is gone; vanquished to the depths of the Thames River, spread out over countless miles, with no hope of retrieval.
I also think of ‘The Blanched Soldier’ (which has nothing to do with the sea, but I love that story), sadly, if used, it will be with Wato and Toru...
“There was not a finer lad in the regiment. We formed a friendship — the sort of friendship which can only be made when one lives the same life and shares the same joys and sorrows. He was my mate — and that means a good deal in the Army. We took the rough and the smooth together for a year of hard fighting.” OR! with the person who give Wato the bonfim bracelet ♥
The Little Dipper organization will finally arrive to ‘The Dock’ (pun totally intended) and we will (hopefully) have finally the answers to all the questions (or a second season, that would be great).

Office Hero Part 4
Tumblr media
AN: The Last part :( thank you all of you for loving this series and leaving scads of wonderful comments <3 I loved writing this and I'm kind of sad to see it go. . .
The revelation of Clark Kent’s secret identity shook your world and changed how you saw . . .well, pretty much everything—especially him. It was going on a week now since you discovered his secret and so far you’d managed to keep it to yourself, act normal and not let anyone least of all him have any idea that you knew.  You still hadn’t gotten used to the fact that you were working in the same building as the man of steel, that you knew him, that you counted him as a friend. It was too wild to be true.  You’d think that this discovery would be enough for you and spell the end of it. You’d go back to being a normal reporter, slowly get used to the idea that Clark Kent who’s desk you passed every day on your way into work doubled as a hero, and that would be it.
. . . but there was no rest for the wicked and no time off for an investigative journalist.
As soon as you’d solved the mystery of the man of steel and the mild-mannered reporter you immediacy set yourself on another track, that of his friend Diana prince and the billionaire playboy himself Bruce Wayne. They were both inexplicably high on the danger scale and (at least in Diana’s case) had a clear friendship with Clark—there had to be something up with them, just like there had been with him and your reporter’s inquisitive instinct wouldn’t let you rest till you’d cracked them too.
It only made sense to you that if Clark was secretly a flying cape wearing hero then the other two had to have a similar day (or would it be night?) job so you started monitoring both of them.  Bruce Wayne was easy, being the rich, famous, playboy that he was, you just payed closer attention to all his photos, speeches and appearances --- and more importantly, his disappearances and cancelations.  The trouble there was sorting through the white noise to find the really relevant stuff, which was made doubly hard because of the massive amounts of info you got on him every day and the fact you still sort of had to look over everything since you didn’t know what might turn out to be the key you needed to unlock the truth in his darkness.
You weren’t ashamed to say that you’d often asked some of your friends and coworkers to help you sort through it all. There were times you asked them or keep an eye out for anything Wayne related for you when you had to go out for a story or were too busy to do it yourself.
You made a file for Bruce and wrote your data down in a notebook jut like you had for Clark. His got full surprisingly fast.
Meanwhile the one’s you’d made for Diana were nearly empty.
It was much harder to get information on her. On top of the fact that she wasn’t as well monitored as Bruce, only the most basic facts were known about her life, nothing more nothing less.  Still, it would have seemed above board over all if, when you started digging-- Her past hadn’t turned out to be little know and sketchy. It seemed like she had just popped into the face of the earth one day and just started living her life.  It had taken you asking for help or information from other reporters, even ones from other papers and calling in a few favors to learn more. . . but it only made things more confusing. Ultimately the trail led you to a historical societies archive’s were you spent the day going back in time through pictures, looking at centuries worth of photos in an attempt to find her or any of her ancestors.
You found her alright.
A thrill had gone through you when you’d first found Diana standing In one of the photos, followed immediately by a burst of confusion and excitement when you realized that the photo was taken too long ago and she looked too old  (exactly as old as she did now as a matter of fact. . .) for it to be her. For a second you wondered if it was her mother or maybe a grandmother but no, when you looked at the names written in the bottom corner of the page hers was written there in a faded spidery script and they looked exactly the same in every way; there was no piecemeal genetic inheritance that you usually see—no “they have the same eyes” or “the chins looks the same”.
No, they had to be the same person.
Trying to stifle your exactment and crush the urge to go tell the world you kept digging, going further and further back and finding her in more and more photos. In every single one she looked the same, like she hadn’t aged a day even though the date written down on the back or the corer, the clothes she and the other people in the photo wore, and the changing style of the pictures themselves all said differently.
Finally, you got all the way back to the nineteen forties, and found a few more photos of her before the trial suddenly went ice cold and froze to nothing in front of you.
That was it.
No more pictures, no more appearances after that—and still she looked exactly like she did the day you saw her walk through the daily planet’s glass doors.
You left the building that day with more questions then answers.
Billionaires and nurses weren’t the only ones you were keeping track of and monitoring. You also kept an eye on anything and everything having to do with heroes or the justice league. Hey, maybe if you couldn’t figure it out one way then you could figure it out the opposite way, attach the hero to the secret identity instead of the secret identity to the hero. . .
Whatever would work.
Two days after your trip to the historical society you were sitting at your desk at work, actually working although more then half the office was stopped in their tracks, all clustered around the nearest Tv as the news channel played the latest battle of the justice league live as they faced off against a small army (for what was it, The second time this month?)   Just a minute before you’d seen Clark do his usual disappearing act, running out of the office when everyone’s back was turned and no one was looking, so, you knew, he could be change into superman and fly off to join the battle. At the sight a smile that bordered on a knowing smirk flashed across your face before you got back to writing.
Three minutes later and you let yourself take a quick break to look up yourself and watch from your desk as the arrival of superman was announced by the blonde pretty female newscaster.  Just as you were about to look away the tv changed as they showed Wonder Woman Standing her ground as a hail of bullets sparked harmlessly off her famous bracelets.
The second you saw her you knew it was the same face you’d been searching for and staring at in pictures for hours. It was the same Person Clark had brought into the office and introduced to everyone.
Wonder Woman was Diana Prince.
It was almost too easy to spot once you knew what you were looking for.  The only difference was the change in outfit, the tiara and that fact that her hair was down instead of the ponytail it was in when you first saw her or tied up in a bun on the back of her head.  The whole thing seemed about as ridiculous and as likely to work as Clark’s stupid glasses and the appearing, disappearing forehead curl . . .yet somehow, they both worked.  You guessed it went to show how caught up in themselves, stupid and blind people at large could be, that a pair of glasses and a change of hairstyle was enough to fool them and keep them from seeing the hero in front of them.
Everything clicked into place and it all made sense. Of course she would stay the same in all those photos--- if Diana Prince really was wonder woman she’d be an amazon, an immortal. It would explain why she seemed to appear out of the blue one day. . . she actually had.  Her words came back to you, drifting through your head once more. . .
“It’s a small island near Greece in the Aegean Sea. . .”
And the amazons were said to live in an mystical island near Greece hidden and protected from the outside world
The giddiness of your second triumph thrummed In your veins, causing a wide smile to spread on your face, directed at empty air.  You’d met Wonder Woman, you’d met a literal goddess—well not really but technically. . .as close as you were going to get.  Laughter bubbled up in you, light and euphoric and you could barely keep it in, but you had to.  if you let it out everyone would be wondering just what you found so funny and amusing when there was a battle going on right now, when the justice league were fighting together at this very moment. With a small force of will you swallowed the laugh and tried to concentrate on something normal and serious to keep it from coming back up, scaling your throat to escape into the empty waiting air.
Two mysteries solved, One left to go. . .
Fittingly, it was at night that you discovered the truth behind Bruce Wayne, Billionaire Playboy.  About four days after you connected Diana Prince to Wonder Woman you were at home, working late on a piece due the next day when a voice from the darkness of your shadowed hallway made you nearly jump out of your skin “Doing more research?” The deep gravelly voice sent shivers through you as you recognized it instantly.
You were in trouble—deep deep trouble.
That was the only explanation, the only reason he’d be here since he hardly ever came to Metropolis – lord knew he had enough trouble to solve in his own city. Somehow, he’d found out about your research, all your discoveries and had come here for you. Almost certainly to threaten you , possibly to destroy everything you’d gotten on him and the other two heroes. At least you knew he wasn’t the killing type, you’d learned that much from your research and years of watching him fight and stop crime.
Nonetheless you found yourself having to speak over a pounding heart as you found courage from somewhere and answered the voice from the shadows.  “Sorry to disappoint, but no. It’s for work.”
Batman stepped out of the blackness and you could have worn that for half a second his lips had been just he slightest twitch up. . .that was probably as close as he ever came to a smile “You have been doing a lot of research lately, haven’t you—into Bruce Wayne, Diana prince, and especially your coworker Clark Kent.”
“Don’t you mean you and two other members of the league?” The words were out before you even realized it and as soon as they were you wanted to bite your tongue off, to sew your mouth shut so you’d never speak again—anything to keep from saying something so provoking and stupid. It was too late, the words were out now and there was no taking them back so you could only continue on. You pulled up a picture of Bruce Wayne and turned your computer to face him, so he could see “That is you isn’t it?” The face under the mask was inscrutable as ever. You may as well have tried getting a reaction out of stone “Maybe. What I want to know is what you know—about the people you’ve been looking into.” You scoffed and turned the laptop back to you “Please. You already know it all—why else would you be here? You just want me to corroborate it so you can be sure that everything I wrote is the truth. It is.”
Your words did seem to surprise him, but the emotion only flickered there for half a second before there wasn’t a trace it had ever been there—it may as well have been an illusion of light and shadow.  “Humor me.” You sighed and closed the picture before putting your laptop aside and locking eyes with him again “Alright. . ..” so you told him as briefly, concisely and accurately as you could everything that had happened, everything you’d found out from start to finish including all the hard proof you’d been able to get on all of them— only leaving out the minor detail of your power obviously.
When the last of your lingering words faded slowly from the air emotion once again seeped through the cracks of his (literal) mask as he nodded once approvingly, a (small) smile on his face “Impressive.”  Of all the thing’s you’d been expecting to hear that was the last thing you thought he would say.
Batman lowered his hood, showing the features of Bruce Wayne exactly as you suspected “How would you like to Join the Justice League?”
You were completely and utterly stunned.  You couldn’t believe you might have actually heard him right—never in your wildest dreams did you ever imagine that this was what he was here for, to offer you an opportunity to join the Justice League. . .but here you were.  “b-but I can’t. I can’t fight, I don’t have any training-- and I don’t have any powers.”
Bruce smirked “Don’t You?”
Your heart went right up your throat before sinking all the way to your stomach “W-what?”
“You’ve told me everything except what made you look into Clark Kent, or how you knew to look into me and Diana. Diana makes some sense because to you there was a clear connection between her and Kent- -they knew each other, but you didn’t know Clark knew me—in fact, he told you the opposite. So how did you know?”
Against your will your eyes flicked up to the black ten hovering above him and he caught their movement, his eyes lifting in an attempt to see what you were seeing. . . except he couldn’t.  Words and sentences choked your throat. . .too few, too many, and you couldn’t get any of them out.  You inhaled and let it out in a great big whooshing breath that shook the words loose inside you “I- I can see numbers—over people’s heads. They tell me how dangerous someone is. It’s usually on a scale of one to ten. . . but thanks to Clark I’ve run into one or two of you who broke the scale.”
The same crooked almost boyish grin that you’d seen directed at a few near swooning girls at the planet reappeared, making him seem years younger and much happier, much nicer. It was hard to believe that smile could belong to someone as serious, cold and direct as the batman. . . which was exactly the point of course. “I thought It was something like that” The grin grew wider “Still say you’re not fit to join the league?  That power could come in useful-- And you’re smart, smart enough to connect the dots between me Clark, Diana to our alter egos ---and get enough evidence to prove it. That’s just the kind of skills the league needs. As for training, don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of that if you decide to join. It would take time, don’t’ get me wrong, but you could do it--- you’d be able to hold your own next to the rest of us. So what do you say, do you want to join the justice league?”

Najib Received RM2.6 Billion Kickbacks From 1MDB...
Najib Received RM2.6 Billion Kickbacks From 1MDB....
U.S. Securities Commission –
No Saudi Donations...
For as long as one can remember, Najib Razak has denied any involvement in the 1MDB scandal, despite caught with his hand in the cookie jar – a jaw-dropping  US$681 million in his private bank accounts. Instead, he claimed that the huge sum of money was donations from Saudi royal family, a claim that could not be officially and fully substantiated. Najib, former prime minister of Malaysia and chairman of 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad), had been consistent with his claim – until he was grilled by Al-Jazeera journalist Mary Ann Jolley last year. Finally, he wasn’t so sure anymore. He said he actually “assumed” the funds came from the Saudi government, claiming the dead King Abdullah had promised to give him money. But in September 2018, Najib released documents which he claimed are proof that the Saudi Arabian royalty had indeed donated to him. He proudly uploaded to his Facebook page the document of a donation totalling US$100 million. Najib also unleashed a letter supposedly written by Saudi Prince Abdul Aziz Al-Saud dated February 1, 2011. Subsequently, another letter dated March 1, 2013, was issued to Najib – gifting him with another US$800 million. Both letters, hilariously, carried different signatures, despite claiming to be from the same Saudi prince. The biggest joke was some of the contents of the letters were similar to a letter written by Eric Tan Kim Loong to Jho Low (both individuals believed to be the same person). Like a storyline in a video game, the letter said – “In view of the friendship that we have developed over the years and your new ideas as a modern Islamic leader, I hereby grant you a sum of United States Dollars One Hundred Million (USD100,000,000) Only (“Gift”) which shall be remitted to you at such times and in such manner as I deem fit.”
Najib Razak and Sheikh Arab Jho Low - 1MDB
However, Najib failed to produce all the documents to substantiate the entire US$681 million, which he claimed were donations from the Saudi royal family. What he had produced was just a fraction of the documents to justify the RM2.6 billion found in his bank accounts. Even if the documents were genuine, it cannot prove that the “money” came “directly” from the Saudi government. Besides, the contents of the letter appeared to be an afterthought ploy and probably were composed by Jho Low (full name: Low Taek Jho), the partner-in-crime of Najib Razak. The letter was begging the readers to believe that the money was donations. Exactly why was the letter addressed to Najib’s residence in Jalan Langgak Duta, and not the Prime Minister Office, is beyond comprehension. Amusingly, Najib’s hotshot lawyer – Shafee Abdullah – didn’t think it’s important to produce Saudi Prince Abdul Aziz Al-Saud as material witness in the ongoing 1MDB corruption trials against his client. Did not the letter from Saudi praise Najib’s contribution to the Islamic world, hence the donations without any strings attached? Why did the Arab royal house refuse to save a good Muslim like Najib now? That’s because Saudi had never paid a penny to Najib Razak, despite what the disputable (and probably fake) letter says about the free cash for the disgraced premier. Only the fools would believe that the late King Abdullah was damn worried about Arab Spring in Malaysia, a country which is 6,461-km away, and had sought to pay Najib regime a large sum of money to preserve stability. While Najib and his lawyers could not produce complete documents to verify the US$681 million donations, let alone Arab witnesses to support his fairy tale, the United States is able to do so. According to latest documents released by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Najib Razak has been identified as the person who had received kickbacks from bonds issued by 1MDB.
US DOJ Indicts Jho Low, Tim Leissner, Roger Ng
The documents released were in relation to SEC’s settlement with former Goldman Sachs Group Inc executive Tim Leissner. In detailing the background of the case, the SEC said that Leissner had helped to raise US$6.5 billion (RM26.9 billion) for 1MDB under the guise of supporting projects meant to benefit Malaysians. But the money raised didn’t go to the people of Malaysia. The commission said – “Leissner and others instead planned and executed a scheme to misappropriate more than US$2.7 billion and distribute the money as bribes and kickbacks to government officials in Malaysia and Abu Dhabi. Including but not limited to Najib as well as to other participants in the scheme and their families, including Leissner.” After the stunning defeat of Mr. Najib in the historical May 2018 General Election, apparently the panicked Leissner hurriedly sought negotiations with U.S. prosecutors to potentially plead guilty to criminal charges, especially to a violation of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which prohibits the use of bribes to foreign officials to get or keep business. On Nov 1, 2018, the United States revealed criminal charges against not only Tim Leissner but also another Goldman Sachs banker, Ng Choon Hwa (Roger Ng), together with Malaysian financier fugitive Jho Low. Roger Ng was arrested in Malaysia while his former colleague Tim Leissner pleaded guilty to conspiring to launder money and to violating anti-bribery laws. Tim Leissner agreed to pay US$43.7 million (£33.6 million; RM182 million). It was a good deal considering he had admitted to enriching himself – acknowledging that more than US$200 million in proceeds from 1MDB bonds flowed into accounts controlled by him and a relative in Hong Kong. This sweet deal means that Leissner had agreed to turn witness in the explosive scandal.
After he pleaded guilty to helping orchestrate the looting of billions of dollars from Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund 1MDB, Leissner, who is married to model and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons, has also been banned for life from working in the securities industry by the U.S. regulators. Still, Leissner is scheduled to face sentencing on June 11 in a federal court in Brooklyn, New York. Months ago, the U.S. prosecutors revealed that the three bond sales for 1MDB, code-named Project Magnolia, Maximus and Catalyze, had resulted in more than US$2.7 billion of the US$6.5 billion raised diverted into accounts controlled by Jho Low, Tim Leissner and other crooks. Money stolen was used to pay bribes to government officials, including the purchase of jewellery for Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor. Now, the U.S. Securities Commission agreed with the U.S. prosecutors, saying – “Leissner also knew at the time that Najib Razak and government officials from Abu Dhabi and 1MDB officials would receive money from the proceeds of Project Maximus that passed through various shell companies beneficially owned and controlled by himself, Low and others.” Under “Project Maximus”, the second of two bonds issued by 1MDB in 2012, which is called the Aabar BVI phase, Najib received US$30 million. But the juiciest kickbacks came from the “Project Catalyze”, which is also known as the Tanore phase in 2013 where the despicable former prime minster received a further US$681 million misappropriated from 1MDB. It was also during the “Project Catalyze” that kickbacks, including “transferring approximately US$1.3 million (RM5.38 million) to the account of a New York jeweller to pay for jewellery for the wife of Najib” happened. This is in reference to 27 different 18-carat gold necklaces and bracelets Jho Low had bought for Rosmah Mansor from the 1MDB money siphoned. Najib loves to drum the fact that US$620 million (out of the US$681 million) of the so-called donation money had been returned in August 2013. What he refuses to tell his dumb supporters is what actually happened to that money thereafter. Nope, the money didn’t go back to the Saudi royal house’s account, but stayed in the Tanore Finance Corp account in Singapore.
SA Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir and Najib
In fact, a month after the US$620 million was returned to the Tanore, the money was used to purchase a 22-K pink diamond necklace worth a staggering US$27.3 million for Rosmah, after US$32.76 million was transferred from Midhurst to a DBS Singapore bank account for Blackrock, one of many accounts held nominally by fugitive Jho Low under the alias of Eric Tan. Yes, Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor had earlier been exposed to have had purchased a 22-carat pink diamond necklace – worth a stunning US$27.3 million – using money siphoned from 1MDB. According to U.S.-DOJ investigations, Jho Low had arranged for jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz (also known as “Jewish Queen of Oscar Bling”) for the pink diamond on June 2, 2013. Now that the U.S. Securities Commission has established that the US$681 million (RM2.6 billion) discovered in Najib Razak’s bank accounts were kickbacks from 1MDB bond deals, it proves that the much hyped Saudi donations did not exist at all. From the beginning, the U.S. Department of Justice and FBI had found no evidence of donations from Saudi in their investigations.
Despite Najib’s attempt of claiming ignorance in his current corruption and money laundering trials, the U.S. SEC has pointed out that upon 1MDB’s formation, Najib assumed a position of authority in 1MDB, and had the authority to approve all appointments and removals in 1MDB’s board of directors and 1MDB’s senior management team. He knew what he was doing until he is put on trial.
To make matters worse for the crooked Najib, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Ahmed Al-Jubeir confirmed in October last year that the RM2.6 billion “donation” which former prime minister Najib Razak proudly claimed to have received had nothing to do with the kingdom’s government. Mr. Najib is really screwed. He has not a single material witness to back his story. - FT
SD Azilah vs Sumpah laknat Najib...
Atok memang pantang dicabar...
Najib biasa lah.. Dulu orang tanya pasal Jho low pun dia kata tak kenal.. Dia tak kenal sapa Jho Low.. Dia Cukup yakin duit itu dari Putera Raja Saudi, Siap publish Dokumen ada Cop Mohor saudi lagi.... akhir dalam Mahkamah, Dia kata dia ditipu Jho Low.. sebab Yakin Jho Low begitu rapat dgn saudi..  Disini pun dah nampak Najib kaki temberang.. Kalau dia yakin degan Jho Low, dia ditipu dgn Jho Low, tang mana dia tak kenal Jho Low.. Begitu juga dalam Kes Altantuya.. Dia kata tak kenal Altantuya.. tapi semua kes Melibatkan Kes Altantuya, Melibatkan urusan transaksi ,urusniaga dengan orang dan kenalan rapat dia, Melibatkan Kementerian dia..
Sumpah laknat...
Ostad kesayangan yg membimbing Jibby Al Penyamun bersumpah laknat...
Bukan salah PH, tapi salah Najib sendiri.. Siapa pergi pandai pandai cabar Atok.. Cabar Tun Mahathir.. Tun Mahathir tu orang yg pantang dicabar.. dia bukan mcm Najib, Pandai Troll jer..Mengaku darah Pahlawan..padehal Pondan.. - Ipohmali

Secebis nasihat utk Najib
oleh seorang sahabat....
Najib nak bersumpah laknat. Eloklah. Cubalah bersihkan diri.
- Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik

My Sims 3 Mess of a Legacy Challenge: Catching Up and Meeting the Nieves Family
Okay so I downloaded the Sims 3 a while ago during the Steam winter sale and because I was getting slightly bored with the game, I decided to start a legacy challenge. I doubt anyone who is reading this doesn’t know what it is because I’ll literally tag it “Sims 3 Legacy” but I don’t feel like explaining the rules so here they are. Knock yourself out. Also I would like to say that tamashiihiroka inspired me to do this, so check out her own legacy journals and such.
Anyways I started a legacy a while ago, and I thought it would be a cool idea to keep a record of it because I love playing this game and I feel like it’s fun to share one’s experience with the game because everybody’s challenge is different. I feel like Tumblr is a less cluttered place to share the challenge compared to forums, as much as I hate to admit it because this website is trash but ANYWAYS. I like writing too so this gives me an excuse to do write... I feel like I have rambled on for too long so I’ll go ahead and just make this introductory post about the family I’m playing with.
(I started this Legacy with Late Night, Generations, Seasons, and Diesel stuff installed)
Also, I have quite a number of mods installed for the game. I have Overwatch and ErrorTrap to help reduce the lag, the story progression mod that makes every sim actually do interesting things, and the MasterController mod so that I manually fix things. I also have many custom career mods such as the NFL, NHL, social worker, teen modeling, and standup comedy career mods just to make things more interesting.
I’m also not the best picture taker so prepare for poor pictures and screenshots!
I have no idea how to start with other than to introduce the founder-
Mateo Nieves
Tumblr media
His traits are virtuoso, flirty, artistic, handy, and star quality. I named him Mateo because I like the name a lot for some reason, and I gave him the surname Nieves because the last name just sounded cool. He is a five star celebrity, and is also a vampire. He is only an adult despite the fact that I have spent many hours playing with this Sim... jfc these vampires NEVER die.
He settled in the big city of Bridgeport to seek celebrity status and to become a rockstar. He has achieved both dreams, but it was not an easy path. First, he basically lived as a hobo because the rules to the challenge are cruel AF. He had to sleep in a sleeping bag every night and had no shower for basically four days. I made him go to a co-worker named Brandon’s house and spend four nights there so that he could shower and eat well because his house was so shitty. (Side note: His lifetime wish of being a rich and famous celebrity glitched out somehow so I changed his wish to being a rockstar and his wish was fulfiled).
I made him fall in love with the co-worker, who he later became engaged to. However, I got bored of Brandon so I made Mateo dump him and he later fell in love with and married Marina Prattle, who later obviously became Marina Nieves. Together they had triplets, who you will be introduced to further in this post.
The family traits that he is passing down in his family are the purple eyes, his celebrity status, his virtuoso trait. Every descendant of Mateo is a musician, since that idea just seemed cool to me. Right now, since the death of his wife, he’s been a player and has been hitting it off with many different people. Who knows if he’s happy to be free as a flirty sim, or is longing to fill the hole in his heart...
Marina Nieves
Tumblr media
Lmao she ded af
Triplet #1: Tiago Nieves
Tumblr media
I couldn’t get a good picture of him, but he’s the oldest of the triplets. He inherited his late mom’s blonde hair, his father’s eye color, and the virtuoso trait. He is not the heir of the legacy, but he has achieved the most out of his siblings. For example, he won Valedictorian in his high school class and has mastered many instruments because of him joining band class. His lifetime wish is to become a Renaissance Sim, and he has mastered the Logic and Guitar skills so far.
His career is a hit movie composer, his traits are genius, virtuoso, flirty, and good (I guess you don’t get a fifth trait until you’re an adult or something?). He is very flirty like his father, and is still looking for a girl to start a family with, after he achieves his lifetime dream, of course.
Triplet #2: Mateo Nieves, Jr (The First Heir)
Tumblr media
This is Mateo Jr, obviously named after his father. I chose him to be the heir solely because he shares the same name as his father... that’s really the only reason...He has inherited his hair and eyes from his father, and his vampirisim from both his parents (I have no idea what he’s inherited solely from his mother). His traits are virtuoso, perfectionist, vehicle enthusiast, and athletic. His atheltic trait has helped him achieve his lifetime wish of becoming a professional athlete, and he’s reached the top of the athletic career.
He’s still a young adult and is happily married to his husband Pat (the guy right behind him), who was his imaginary friend growing up. Together they have two teenager daughters- Natalia and Gina.
Note: One thing that I’ve done with heirs throughout my legacy is that they wear purple earrings and are associated a lot with purple (because it’s my favorite color). Mateo Jr’s room is purple, his swimwear is purple, etc. I just thought it was a cool idea to do that.
Triplet #3: Diana Nieves
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is the youngest of the triplets, and is the most artistic one in terms of painting. She works from home, painting brilliant works and masterpieces and being pretty crucial to maintaining her family’s wealth.
Her traits are virtuoso, loves the heat, star quality, and technophobe. She’s a 4-star celebrity, and I’m trying to make her famous just so that she can be like her father. Her mother Marina, also dreamed of being a 5-star celebrity, but because of some stupid glitch with the celebrity system, she stayed stuck at 3 stars. For RP’s sake, Diana would like to achieve something that her mother could not just to honor her life.
She’s single, but because I’ve been running out of room in the household, I’ve been trying to marry her off. Like Tiago, I’m trying to have her accomplish her lifetime wish before having a husband. I’m thinking about using the MasterController mod to prevent her from having kids- not to make her sterile, but just because she doesn’t want to have any. I also think that she’s too good for many of the Bridgeport sims, so I haven’t really found a perfect partner for her.
Pat Nieves
Tumblr media
Pat and one of his daughters are the only two humans in the household. He’s Mateo Jr’s husband, and was his imaginary friend. When both Pat and Mateo Jr were teenagers, Tiago finally developed a potion for Pat to become real. When offered the potion, Pat happily accepted and became real. He immediately fell in love with Mateo after looking back at the years of their friendship, and the feelings were mutual between the both of them. They both then got married. I used a mod to get Pat pregnant (I don’t support MPreg or anything, so anyone who has that fetish can walk away now. I just didn’t want to buy Into The Future for the genes mix baby thing), and that was a huge mess. His body disappeared and glitched out until he gave birth to Natalia, who is the next heir.
He works as a journalist, and his dream is to become a star news anchor. However, since he ages a lot faster than everyone in his family, he hasn’t really come close to achieving his dream. He’s very close to becoming an elder. He can’t become a vampire because he’s already an imaginary friend, but I’m greatly considering using the mod to make him become one. I would feel bad to have him die without achieving his dream...
His traits are nurturing, angler, bookworm, neat, and vegetarian. These traits were very helpful when it came to raising Natalia as a baby and a toddler.
Natalia Nieves (The Second Heir)
Tumblr media
Natalia, like Mateo Jr, is also a vampire. Also, surprisingly enough, like her other father, she is also an imaginary friend. Her hybrid-ness is legitimate, and I was surprised when I saw the option for her to turn into toy form. So yeah, that’s something funny about her. She also inherited Pat’s hair, which is a pretty cool scheme to me. Lastly, she is the heir, and she also has purple earrings, bracelets, and many other things.
Right now, she is a teenager, and she missed many of her elementary and middle school days because of the winter snow. Despite her being a genius and having a high logic skill, she barely reached the honor roll in high school. She is striving to becoming her class’ Valedictiorian, just like her uncle. Her lifetime desire is to become a world-renowned surgeon. I hope that her genius trait will help her out with that.
Her other traits are light sleeper, friendly, and virtuoso.
Gina Nieves
Tumblr media
Last but not least, this is Gina Nieves. I named her after Gina Rodriguez because I love her and stan that actress. She is the adopted child of Pat and Mateo Jr. She is also human, and has no desire in becoming a vampire no matter what.
She wants to become a famous actress, which stems from her wanting to honor the legacy of her late grandmother. She also desires to become a 5-star celebrity. In her high school career, she is striving to become the most popular in her class, and wants to win that award at her graduation.
Her traits are perfectionist, excitable, artistic, and athetlic. She wants to paint a little on the side just as a hobby and for some pocket money, but she also wants to be a great athlete. Perhaps her aritistic nature and ahtletic skill will help her become a famous movie star, where she can express herself and have lots of stamina for different roles.
Edit: I put this post on drafts because I am a great writer who takes breaks and doesn’t write on posts for days. I literally just* installed 6 other things for this game because of the Steam Midweek Madness sale. I downloaded Ambitions, University Life, Pets, Supernatural, Master Suite stuff, and World Adventures and I’m pretty excited to see how they turn out and add to my gameplay. I’m gonna edit some random town sims into supernaturals just so the expansion pack doesn’t go unused but yeah I’m excited.
Another edit: I took another break and it’s been like two days since I installed the EPs and I haven’t played much with them. I just finished editing this post lol so I’m gonna post this now. These edits are pretty poorly-written but I don’t know what else to add. Lol also just so you know the paragraph after this was written before these edits. But anyways
Conclusion:
These are pretty much the family members of the Nieves family. They’re a wealthy and famous family, which I think is interesting. I’ll try to make them dramatic and as extra as I can when things seem to get a bit bland just for the fun of it. Maybe they can be some sort of weird Kardashian rip-off family.
Anyways, these characters will come and go, since I’m only on my third generation, and it’ll be pretty sad to see some of these characters die. I want to in a way immortalize them outside of my memory just so that I don’t forget exactly why I spend 5 hours a day playing this really fun game. This might seem cheesey to many people, but I like the thought of doing this, and I guess that matters to me more than what others think of this. Anyways, I hope that the three people who read this enjoy this journal thing of the weird ass things that happen in this game.
Fun fact: I’m planning on making Natalia and Gina attend university together when they’re young adults since they’re basically the same age. That should be fun!
P.S. I don’t feel like spellchecking this thing so deal with my grammar errors lol bye

STRANGE THE DREAMER - Hardcover Book Edition READ: 3/30-5/18/17 5/5 "The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around--and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he's been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance to lose his dream forever. What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving? The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries--including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo's dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? and if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?" This book was lyrical. Both in prose and in plot. I was extremely impressed with the level of detail and care that went into this novel. Why I loved it so much was because it read, not just as an original piece, as a hugely imagined fully formed world that you could get lost in and also manage to put the pieces together just as the main character does. This book is rich with imaginative ideas and wonderful prose. My only real complaint is that cliffhanger of an ending that makes the reader want more immediately. I took so long reading this because I wanted to fully appreciate every single word. And now I can't wait until the next one. ------------------------------------------ NOS4A2 - Paperback Copy Edition READ: 5/18-20/17 4/5 "Victoria McQueen has a secret gift for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. On her Raleigh Tuff Burner bike, she makes her way to a rickety covered bridge that, within moments, takes her wherever she needs to go, whether it’s across Massachusetts or across the country. Charles Talent Manx has a way with children. He likes to take them for rides in his 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the NOS4A2 vanity plate. With his old car, he can slip right out of the everyday world, and onto the hidden roads that transport them to an astonishing – and terrifying – playground of amusements he calls “Christmasland." Then, one day, Vic goes looking for trouble—and finds Manx. That was a lifetime ago. Now Vic, the only kid to ever escape Manx’s unmitigated evil, is all grown up and desperate to forget. But Charlie Manx never stopped thinking about Victoria McQueen. He’s on the road again and he’s picked up a new passenger: Vic’s own son." I'll be honest here. I picked up this one based on the summary. I haven't read much of Hill's work - I know who his father is - I've only read one previous novel by him "Horns" and loved it so I decided to give this one a go. I was reminded of his fathers work in certain elements of this novel but the way it was done was enjoyable and yet this book reminded me of The Nightmare Before Christmas mixed with serial killers and enhanced supernatural mysticism. Manx is quite possibly one of the creepiest villains ever to be put to the page while Vic McQueen is one of the best heroines I've encountered. My only gripe is that I felt as if some questions about Manx might have been open ended on purpose. -----------------------------------------THE FABULIST - Paperback Copy Edition READ: 5/11-13/17 3.5/5 "A NOVEL OF AN IGNOMINIOUS FALL, THE RISE TO INFAMY, AND LIFE AFTER BOTH. It is the summer of 1998, and Stephen Glass is a young magazine journalist whose work is gaining more and more acclaim -- until a rival magazine tells Glass's editor that it suspects one of his stories is fabricated. As his editor sorts out the truth, Glass is busy inventing it -- spinning rich and complex blends of fact and fiction, and exploiting the gray world in between. But Glass is caught. His fabulism is uncovered and his career instantly unravels. Worse, his editor learns that it's not the first time. Soon, a long history of invention, passed off as journalism, emerges. Glass suddenly becomes a household name -- an emblem of hubris and a flashpoint for Americans' distrust and dislike of the press. The media is consumed with the story: Once the young man who had been known for mastering the "takedown" article, Glass now becomes the one every journalist wants to take even further down. Once the hunter, Glass becomes the hunted -- the story of the year. Glass responds to this agonizing public scrutiny with a self-imposed exile, first near Chicago with his family and then in the anonymous suburbs of Washington, D.C. There, he begins a long personal struggle with his misdeeds, working out his own answers to the questions of why he fabricated, how he can learn to stop lying, and whether, at age twenty-five, he has destroyed his life irrevocably. Glass encounters a world far stranger than his own fabrications -- one populated by eccentric coworkers, ailing animals, angry masseuses, sexy librarians, competitive bingo players, synchronized swimmers, a soulful stripper, and a mysterious guardian angel who dresses only in purple. Meanwhile, Glass is chased by marauding journalists whose desperation and ruthlessness manage to match even his own. As he dodges his pursuers, Glass grasps at straws only to find that, wondrously, they sometimes hold. Despite himself, he rediscovers the Judaism he'd left far behind in Hebrew school, and falls helplessly in love with a young woman who turns out to have her own shameful past. In the end, "The Fabulist" is as much about family, friendship, religion, and love -- about getting through somehow, even when it seems impossible -- as it is about reality and fantasy. At once hilarious and harrowing, "The Fabulist" is one of the year's most provocative novels." This book just seems self serving in a way that borders on the author making up even more absurdities in an effort to sell a book about his life. However, it is well written, I can't help but think this was his own attempt to lessen his own guilt about what he's done in his life through the one method he knows - creating fiction. ------------------------------------------ THE HEARTS WE SOLD - Paperback ARC Edition READ: 5/1-4/17; RELEASE: 8/8/17 4/5 "When Dee Moreno makes a deal with a devil--her heart in exchange for an escape from a disastrous home life--she finds her trade may be more than she bargained for. And becoming "heartless" is only the beginning. What lies ahead is a nightmare far bigger, far more monstrous than anything she ever could have imagined. With reality turned on its head, Dee has only a group of other deal-making teens to keep her grounded, including the charming but secretive James Lancer. And as something like love grows between them amidst an otherworldly ordeal, Dee begins to wonder: can she give James her heart when it's no longer hers to give? The Hearts We Sold is a Faustian tale for the modern age that will steal your heart and break it, and leave you begging for more." I have to agree with the one review that stated that "the rumpelstilskin clause" might look a tad familiar but it's nonetheless a strong novel with its own mythology and merits that are new takes within YA. The book provides hints that could lead to more within this universe even with the ending being satisfying but it's a wonderful novel with a new twist on a semi used prose. ------------------------------------------ CATALINA EDDY - ARC Via Netgalley (already released). READ: 5/21-22/17 3.5/5 "Times may change, but crimes never do, and neither do the people who investigate them. A collection of three loosely connected crime novellas, each set in a distinct era, Catalina Eddy is a gritty, hard-boiled exploration into the immutable police underworld of Southern California. In The Big Empty, an obstinate Los Angeles detective investigates the murder of his estranged wife while fears of nuclear war and Communism grip the nation; inLosertown, a mid-career attorney in San Diego chases down a legendary drug kingpin but chafes against the Reagan Revolution policies of his new boss; and inPortuguese Bend, set in the present day, an undercover cop is paralyzed in a gunfight but determined to solve what may be her last case as a police officer in Long Beach. They are all, in one way or another, stuck in dreary endless loops of love, murder, and the quest for clarity, release, and redemption." I was given an ARC of this a tad late but didn't mind because I had been wanting to read this for a while. Thanks to PENGUIN GROUP Blue Rider Press & Plume for the chance to read. Daniel Pyne wrote a great crime novel/ 3 short series of noir tales that tie together over the course of several different decades but the effect from each of the stories reverberate over time. The Big Empty, The Portuguese Bend, & Losertown all take place at different time frames but handle different points of view in relation to crime which is a different take on what I usually see in crime novels. The Big Empty takes place in the 50's and a PI tries to figure out the death of his ex wife. The Portuguese Bend is told through the view point of a forensic photographer being the main protagonist. Finally Losertown gives the reader a look at the US Attorney Justice System. These stories that Pyne wrote are excellent editions to any crime/noir aficionado's reading library. ------------------------------------------ THE RED LILY - ARC via Netgalley READ: 5/19/17; RELEASE: 6/19/17 3/5 "The Black Lily resistance needs a larger army if they are to defeat the vampire monarchy. In order to do so, former lieutenant and traitor to the vampire Crown, Nikolai must seek help from the red-hooded temptress he needs to avoid at all costs. The secret he carries could prove dangerous for her if she gets too close…even though keeping her close—very close—is the only thing on his mind. Sienna will do anything for the Black Lily, and when Nikolai asks for her assistance to gain the trust of the commonwealth, it’s the last thing she wants to do. The thought of leaving her woods and her wolves behind is terrifying…not to mention the danger being with Nikolai poses." I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. Thank you to the author as well as Entangled Publishing, LLC for the chance to read and review. I have to give Juliette Cross credit here. Vampires have been done to death but here with the novels taking place in a sort of way that involves fairy tale retellings is genius. I loved that sort of element and she does it effortlessly. Sienna and Nikolai are a pair together but what I really enjoyed is that Sienna is no nonsense and isn't exactly "helpless" in terms of a heroine. I'm looking forward to more work from Cross and seeing where she takes this series. ------------------------------------------ ANGELS IN AMERICA - 2017 paperback edition READ: 5/18-19/17 5/5 "Tony Kushner's Angels in America is that rare entity: a work for the stage that is profoundly moving yet very funny, highly theatrical yet steeped in traditional literary values, and most of all deeply American in its attitudes and political concerns. In two full-length plays--Millennium Approaches and Perestroika--Kushner tells the story of a handful of people trying to make sense of the world. Prior is a man living with AIDS whose lover Louis has left him and become involved with Joe, an ex-Mormon and political conservative whose wife, Harper, is slowly having a nervous breakdown. These stories are contrasted with that of Roy Cohn (a fictional re-creation of the infamous American conservative ideologue who died of AIDS in 1986) and his attempts to remain in the closet while trying to find some sort of personal salvation in his beliefs. But such a summary does not do justice to Kushner's grand plan, which mixes magical realism with political speeches, high comedy with painful tragedy, and stitches it all together with a daring sense of irony and a moral vision that demands respect and attention. On one level, the play is an indictment of the government led by Ronald Reagan, from the blatant disregard for the AIDS crisis to the flagrant political corruption. But beneath the acute sense of political and moral outrage lies a meditation on what it means to live and die--of AIDS, or anything else--in a society that cares less and less about human life and basic decency. The play's breadth and internal drive is matched by its beautiful writing and unbridled compassion. Winner of two Tony Awards and the 1991 for drama, Angels in America is one of the most outstanding plays of the American theater." Review pending
