Baby Mine

or just young dadrry being a dad
Young Dad! Harry x Young Mom! Reader
Reality struck Harry in the face when he realized Y/n was showing.
The text he got from Y/n saying she was pregnant? Mind-blowing, but also a little surreal. The conversations he had with his parents and management? An out of body experience. But seeing Y/n with a baby bump for the first time, with his baby? His knees nearly buckled from the stark realization that this was actually happening.
He was going to be a dad.
It was a terrifying thought. Harry was still a kid himself—in all the ways that mattered, anyway. He played video games with his mates, he stayed out late on the weekends, and it felt like just yesterday that he'd gotten his driver's license. He could barely successfully cook pasta, let alone take care of his own child.
And Y/n, the girl he'd only known for a short couple months. The girl he really liked to the point where he still talked to her even after his trip to LA was over, she was here with him, on tour, walking around in his hotel room in one of his t-shirts, her stomach stretching the soft material just enough to be noticeable.
"I thought we could have dinner together," she said, coming over to where Harry was still holding vigil by the door. "I was craving Mexican and I remembered you saying you liked tacos, so I did a little exploring, and voila."
His eyes darted over Y/n's shoulder, and there were in fact various Mexican dishes wrapped up in foil packaging. It smelled good too, but it wasn't quite enough to pull Harry from his stupor.
"I...I'm meeting someone. The boys. For dinner," he said.
It wasn't quite enough to pull his head out of his ass apparently, either.
"Oh."
Y/n blushed, her gaze flickering away from his. Harry felt like a dick, especially since it wasn't true. But he freaked out. He was freaking out. Playing house—or hotel—with a girl he barely knew and pretending it was perfectly normal for them to prepare to have a baby together was too much. All of a sudden, it was all too much.
"Have—Have fun, then. I'll probably head back to my room, I guess."
It was painfully awkward, but Harry didn't know how to make it better. So, like the grown adult he wasn't, he mumbled a reply and skirted around Y/n to set his duffle bag down before mumbling his goodbyes and leaving again.
He was gone for maybe an hour. While he was gone, he walked around aimlessly, letting himself get lost in an unfamiliar city. And in all that walking, he gave himself time to think.
Harry knew he'd been an ass. Y/n hadn't done anything wrong, and knowing that he disappointed her made him upset. Because the truth was, he really liked her. She shared his stupid sense of humor, she liked the music he liked, she had a cute little birthmark on her right shoulder that Harry couldn't help but feel compelled to kiss whenever he saw it. She was beautiful and smart and outgoing.
And now she was having his baby.
They were both to blame for that. Both of them had been careless that particular night, but Y/n had been clear to Harry when she told him about her being pregnant. "I want to have it, but I'm also not going to force you to have it with me," she'd told him when they eventually had a phone conversation. "I don't, like, expect anything from you, but I just didn't think it would be right if I kept this a secret from you."
"How did your parents take it?" Harry had asked because her voice contained a steely nerve that was deflecting non-existent judgement.
"Not great, but they'll come around. Eventually. I hope."
She'd said the last part so quietly, as if she wasn't truly sure her parents would actually accept the fact that their daughter was pregnant.
"I want to help," he blurted.
Y/n had looked at him with wide eyes, and a pang of guilt lanced through him at her surprise. She'd genuinely thought he'd leave her high and dry.
"Help?"
"I—I want to be a part of this, or help you raise it—the baby. I want to help. Like we're a team—Not a team. Like a—"
"A team. I like that."
Harry had been glad to be put out of his misery, though to his credit, he never imagined ever having this conversation, and he at least hadn't cried yet.
"You do?"
"Yeah. I think family is too much right now," Y/n said. "But a team...a team looks out for each other. Makes each other better."
So they were a team, though clearly Harry had been dropping the ball recently.
He was just...scared. Terrified. But he could only imagine what Y/n was thinking, how she was feeling. Since she'd joined him on tour, they talked about everything but the baby. Whether that was conscious or subconscious on either of their parts, Harry wasn't sure, but he knew they couldn't skirt around the subject forever. When he first told his mum about Y/n being pregnant, Harry insisted that he could do this, that he was grown enough to raise a baby. He wasn't exactly sure how true that statement was, but one thing he did know was that he could do much better than he was now.
When he got back to the hotel, Y/n was spread out along the plush sofa, eyes closed and arm resting idly on her belly. Harry wasn't so scared at seeing the bump this time around. In fact, a part of him was a little excited.
Y/n startled a little when Harry knelt by her side, her eyes bleary and a little red. "Sorry. I was gonna go, but I sat down for a moment and—"
"Nothing to be sorry for," Harry interrupted. "I'm sorry, actually. I was kind of an ass earlier."
Shaking her head, she said, "We don't owe each other anything. It's not like we're—"
"But I want to. I know things have been a little awkward, but I like you, Y/n. A lot. That hasn't changed."
"Really?" Y/n asked, and Harry felt bad when she sounded so unsure.
"Really. We...obviously didn't expect this to happen, but I want this. With you. Even if we are a little young and out of our depth here."
Y/n laughed. "Try a lot."
Harry grinned, resting his hand over hers where she was still holding her belly. "But we'll learn. Together. We're a team, right?"
Her eyes softened then. She ran a hand through his curls, the touch delicate but comforting, and Harry couldn't help but lean into her touch. "Yeah. We're a team."
They stayed like that for a minute, maybe two, but Harry eventually straightened, his grin widening as he said, "Right then. We should welcome the newest member of our team, shouldn't we?"
Y/n giggled as Harry shuffled around until he was face to face with Y/n's stomach. He lifted her shirt gently, his breath catching when he saw the baby bump up close.
"Hello there...baby. I'm Harry. Your dad," he said, only feeling a little silly. "You don't have a name yet, but I just wanted you to know that I love you, and your mum loves you, and even though we're a little on the young side, we're gonna take care of you the best we can. And so will your uncles."
"That was sweet, H," Y/n said, her fingers tracing the side of his cheek. "And...I do have a name in mind."
"You do? I didn't know that."
Y/n gave him a smile that felt like she was teasing him. "Because I'm telling you now. I've been testing it out in my head for a few days."
If Harry thought the baby bump made all of this real, talking about potential names would definitely do that. But whether he was ready or not, this was happening.
"Alright. Hit me with it."
A small smile creeped onto Y/n's face. "Simone."
"Simone," Harry repeated, trying it out for himself. "How'd you land on Simone?"
Y/n shrugged casually, but Harry knew that she put thought into it, that this name meant something to her. "It's pretty, and, I don't know, we talked about Nina Simone on our first date. It seemed right."
Thinking about their first proper date gave Harry butterflies. He remembered how nervous he was to go out with Y/n, spending an embarrassing amount of time picking out the right clothes and fixing his hair. But when he actually met her at the spot they agreed on, all his nerves went away, and he spent the whole date marveling at the fact that he was on a date with Y/n and all the things they had in common and how he didn't want it to end.
"It's perfect," Harry agreed, then bent his head to kiss Y/n's belly. "Hi, Simone. I can't wait to meet you."
A few months later
"Do you want to hold her?"
Y/n was in her hospital bed, hair hanging limp around her shoulders. She looked tired beyond belief, but she was smiling brightly at Harry as she held a little bundle of blankets, one of which was his mother's handiwork, Harry realized.
He found himself nodding, and before he was maybe ready, Y/n passed the baby over to him, and he was holding her. His daughter.
Harry looked down, a swirl of emotions squeezing his heart. She was asleep, the world's tiniest hand pressed against her cheek while she took deep breaths. Logically, he knew she didn't have any distinguishable features yet, but Harry felt like he could see himself and Y/n in her. Just gazing at her little face, he felt like he could see the next fifteen years playing out—the first words and steps, seeing Y/n holding her backstage, recitals and sports games, school projects, first loves, all of it.
An overwhelming feeling Harry couldn't name washed over him. It brought tears to his eyes as he realized just how much he loved her, how much he was willing to bend over backwards and protect her. And when he was able to break away from looking at her for a second, he found Y/n's gaze and saw the same look in her eyes, and one of understanding too.
Harry looked back down at his daughter, that overwhelming feeling rushing through him again, and for a moment, he wondered if that would ever go away. He wasn't sure he wanted it to.
"Hi baby," he whispered. Bending his head down, he kissed her forehead. "Hi, Simone. Welcome to our little family."
He knew Y/n was listening, but he didn't mind. It felt right that it was just the three of them sharing this little moment before everyone else flooded in to see the baby.
"We're a little unconventional as far as families go, and you'll probably have a different childhood than other kids," he said, not caring that Simone couldn't hear or understand him. He needed to say it. "But I'll love you with all my heart, and so will your mummy. You'll want for nothing because we'll give you the world, but you might have to be a little patient with us because we're new to the parenting thing.
"But I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy," he continued, his voice breaking. "I'll never let you feel unloved. I'll change your nappies and wipe your tears and make you smile. I'll be the best daddy for you. I promise."
Harry didn't know what the future held, but that he was sure of. He'd been scared and anxious the last few months, but now that he was standing in a hospital room holding his newborn daughter, he didn't want to give her, or Y/n, anything less than what they deserved.
Years later
"Dad, you're squeezing too hard."
"I don't care. My baby's abandoning me."
"I'm going to college!"
"That's what I said, isn't it?"
Simone began to squirm, but Harry still wouldn't let up. He was currently in the process of blinking back tears, and didn't want her to notice when he eventually did pull away.
"I'll be back for Fall Break," she said quietly, giving into the hug and squeezing Harry tight.
Harry took a deep breath and let go, even though he wasn't exactly ready to. Mustering a smile, he said, "I know. I'm just going to miss you. You're my baby."
Simone didn't balk or roll her eyes or contradict him, she just gripped the straps of her backpack as she gave him a wobbly smile. "You have plenty of babies to take care of at home."
Harry grinned and looked behind him where Y/n was keeping watch over the rest of the Styles family, though none of them were really babies anymore.
Looking back at Simone, he said, "Behave yourself, okay? Don't do anything Uncle Louis would do. And no boys for at least a month, please?"
Simone did roll her eyes then. "Sure, Dad."
That wasn't totally convincing, but he knew it was the best he was going to get. Harry pulled Simone in for one last hug, memories of the last eighteen years playing in his mind like a fast forward reel. Part of him couldn't believe he was already dropping Simone off for her first year of college, and he wasn't sure if he was ready to let her go. When he looked at her, he could still see the little baby he held for the first time, the one he promised to protect and do his best to raise. He hoped he fulfilled that promise.
"I love you, bug. Call me if you need anything. Any time, any place, you call me, okay?"
Tears appeared in Simone's eyes as she nodded. When Harry was ready, he finally stepped back and walked back toward Y/n and the rest of his family. As everyone got in the car Simone watched, waving to her siblings from the curb until Harry eventually peeled out of his spot, feeling like he was leaving part of his heart behind.
"Can we get something to eat?"
"In-N-Out!"
"There's no In-N-Out here!"
"A burger does sound good."
"Skip the song, please!"
"Play One Direction!"
Harry smiled as he shared a look with Y/n. He already missed Simone, but he knew she would be okay. And he found that it was easier—not by a lot but easier—to miss someone when there were five other babies, who weren't really babies anymore, to look after.

aespa concert review
this was my second time seeing aespa live - now in the mexico city stop of the synk parallel line world tour and i had a blast!!
the good: the venue had great seating and you could see the stage comfortably from every angle as far as i could see. i bought mid tier tickets and didn't expect to have them as close as i did tbh! also, the visuals were amazing as always. there was a lot of hype with minimal filler/slow songs and the crowd was amazing. aespa themselves said we were the wildest crowd they have seen this whole tour as it tends to be with mexican audiences <3 the energy really was up to a hundred the whole night. i also loved the setlist for the most part - from opening with drama to giving us whiplash next level and armageddon in a row i feel like we didn't miss any big song (except girls for me bc i'm the number one girls stan and will always be lmao)
the bad: the costume and stage design was cheap and lazy as fuck. their outfits this whole tour have been disappointing - the past tour at least had some standout costumes and you can tell most of these are recycled. cause tell me why they have to sing mine in shein ass dresses? also there were no props, big effects or anything to up the design of the tour. SM is cheap and this was definitely underwhelming - in a way this tour just feels like the encore for hyperline as there is nothing to separate it visually from their first tour. aespa need to stop touring for at least a year after this and come back with a completely different tour when they do
the ugly: mexico city altitude is no joke and it's a wide known fact that touring artists almost always struggle with that when they come here. i was actually worried winter might struggle with it and she did look a little out of breath towards the end but thankfully no incidents happened. this was actually mentioned by giselle at some point and it does seem like that made them unable to fully sing during some sections. their solos specially were a little disappointing - except for ningning everyone else lipsynced. i actually enjoyed the songs where they used handheld mics and you could hear their live vocals better: die trying, flights not feelings, hold on tight and live my life were great because of that.
overall i would go as far as to say their first concert in mexico was better. maybe it was me because i was way more excited about seeing them for the first time, but the energy, songs and performances from hyperline simply stood out more to me. this parallel line concert was still good and i had an amazing time - mostly because of all the insane hits they have released since then and that we could finally hear live. listening to drama, supernova, armageddon and whiplash live really cemented for me how solid and iconic their discography has gotten in just a couple of years.
but the tour itself is just not up to the level of group they have become since, and i think the members themselves can also use a break after having two whole world tours in less than two years. either way... this was still a great night, they practically sold out the venue whereas the first time they came there were definitely more empty seats. you can see how much they've grown both in terms of popularity and as performers. i loved seeing them again and i can't wait to see them again when the time is right!

I want to see Eddie’s sisters on the show. I need to see this man who we have seen time and time again be an adoring and loving father to his son show us how protective and caring he is towards his sisters and especially with the dynamic of how they grew up with the parents they had as well like it would be very interesting to see say if there was an Eddie Begins Again/Eddie centric episode in season 8 to see how that plays into Eddie’s childhood and again the whole Mexican Catholic religious background he had growing up and how that’s affected his life time and time again from feeling forced into a marriage because he found out his girlfriend is pregnant and that was the right thing to do, but later signing up for the military because again he is the man of the house and is suppose to provide for his family, so he’s mirroring what he has seen growing up with his father never being present and always working.
When he does come back after the end of his first tour he’s met with medical debt in the form of his son Christopher being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, so again what does he do he signs up for another tour, so he is able to take care of the bills and make sure Shannon stays at home and takes care of Christopher because that’s the role his mom had when he was growing up, again mirroring his childhood experiences being that both him and Shannon were young parents and Eddie didn’t know any better. When he does come back after he’s awarded the silver star, he has trouble assimilating back to what his life is suppose to be. He’s suppose to be the supporting husband to his wife and kid and on top of still having his parents never thinking he is doing enough as the man of his own family now. When Shannon leaves him to go take care of her mom, his family immediately blames her for everything and tries to take advantage of the situation of Eddie being busy and trying to provide for his son by working 3 different jobs while also keep in mind already thinking of the future and he had been looking at other cities to move to because again he didn’t want his son being raised in the type of environment he was raised in. He got offers from Chicago and LA, but ultimately he ended up choosing LA and started his probationary year at the LAFD at station 118. And throughout his journey on the show we have seen him time and time again not only adjust to his new life now that’s he’s living in Los Angeles, but he has a positive support system around him including a new best friend who he can rely on and they have each others backs no matter what.
And when we get to season 5 where he’s going to therapy and talking about his past trauma and ptsd from being in the military and we see him be vulnerable and we see him as he has his mental breakdown after he finds out that the people he saved back in Afghanistan have all died, he’s at a lost for words and doesn’t know how to handle that pain so he completely loses it and the one person that comes to his rescue and supports him through everything is Buck. So it will be very interesting to see now with how season 8 pans out how they will tackle the whole catholic storyline if Eddie is going back to church now that he’s all alone and can’t really rely on his primary role of being a father because he’s son is away and for the first time in his life he is completely alone with all his emotions. It will again be very interesting to see what different storylines they have planned out for him, but even with the interview today that was released where Tim mentions that he’s even isolated in a sense from Buck with him being in a relationship and his time outside of work being limited on when they can hangout and it sounded like Eddie would be third wheeling so it will be something to watch with everything else he has going on if they are going down with the catholic guilt storyline with him coming to terms with his sexuality
#eddie is such a complex and interesting character and I just wanna see more of him#if there’s one thing I will do is continue analyzing the living shit out of this show like no tomorrow#also would be interesting to see who they would cast as his sisters if they ever do show up on the show#I keep seeing melissa barrera being fan casted and I would love to see it happen#more of steph’s random thoughts#eddie diaz#edmundo diaz#911 speculation#911#911 season 8#911 s8#911 abc#911 on abc

i was thinking this wattpad story was written by a solo harrie. the majority of them are so weird and vile about louis. they can’t stand the idea of him being successful and having a loving fanbase, so they look for anything to attack him, literally ANYTHING, no matter how insignificant. they were actually hating on him for holding his mexico city show a day prior to the mexican elections as if he had any power over that. they, for some reason, seem threatened by louis, but now it’s even reaching the others because they were talking shit about niall selling out msg and how he will never be in the same level as harry, and also about zayn being a “flop” because his album got 4 million streams, which to them is a bad thing. they’re incredibly toxic and from what i’ve seen every single corner of the fandom hates them, and with good reason
I saw that shit talk about niall and I just… I had to take so many deep breaths and tell myself that it’s just not worth fighting with them, but the fucking audacity is insane.
It doesn’t matter who’s more popular!! It doesn’t matter who gets more streams than the other!!! Just enjoy the music and be happy that they’re touring at all!!
drives me up the wall, these comparisons. But it always happens in these situations and it truly is so disappointing. They all make different music. They all write their own songs. They all deserve to play shows all over the world to their loving fans. They don’t deserve this weird chaotic screaming about who’s better.
Plus, I don’t think I’ve ever seen, maybe my corner of the online world is better, solo louies commenting about solo harries physical looks, age, ethnicity, race, etc., but boy I’ve seen solo harries be fucking awful. my god. are we really in high school again?
Anyway, sorry, bit of a rant, but they’re not doing themselves any favours. People love that they can say whatever they wanna say online though.

My Last Happy Birthday To My Dear Elizabeth

As my ALS marches on stealing more and more from me, the lists of my “Lasts” continues to grow. In the past few weeks I had my last Christmas and my last New Years. This week I shared my daughters birthday with her, the last one I will ever share with her. Next year by the time her birthday rolls around I will be long gone from this earth.
I enjoy my time with Elizabeth, this year for her birthday Robin and I ordered in food from her chosen restaurant, had desserts from an area bake shop, watched a movie and then played some Mexican Train Dominoes, which is a bit of a family tradition. It was a quiet but nice afternoon and evening. As much as I was enjoying this time I will admit that I was struggling a bit, but I managed to hold it together until after Elizabeth had left to go home. Elizabeth had just gone out the door to go home when the emotional floodgates burst open, the devastation of knowing that I will never again be with her on her birthday sharing the joy of her reaching another age milestone. No more birthday cards or gifts to buy for her, it’s done, it’s over, she will carry on without me as she should, just as I have after losing my own parents. I suppose it’s this whole circle of life thing.
While Elizabeth was here I had joked with her that I was struggling with this whole having a Middle-Aged Child. Earlier in the day I had shared this lament with my Step-Mother, but I gained little sympathy from her as she pointed out that all of her offspring are well into their senior citizenship. Intrigued or perhaps depressed at this thought when I shared it with her, Elizabeth pulled out her phone and goggled the average life expectancy of a female in Canada, and learned it is 84.47 years, so having just turned 42, she was indeed “Middle-Aged”. There is no disputing that she does actually look 10 or 15 years younger than her actual age.
There was a time Elizabeth and I would plan adventures for her birthdays. For her twenty-third birthday I flew to New Zealand to spend three and a half weeks touring the south island with her in an old rental car we named Sputter. On her actual birthday we were backpacking across lush green mountaintops, going from warm sunny weather into an ice storm and back to warm temperatures as we came down out of the mountains. This was only time I ever had Elizabeth all to myself on her actual birthday, it also lives on as one of my favourite memories. For her twenty-fifth birthday I picked her up in Ottawa and we drove to Quebec City for a few days, this also coincided with a brutal cold front that was setting record low temperatures for the month of January there. We booked a walking tour and the poor guide must have thought us crazy, it was only the two of us on the tour, he added a lot of church interiors to the tour just so we all didn’t freeze to death. When Elizabeth’s twenty-seventh birthday was rolling around she was living in England and we decided to meet in Paris for her birthday adventure. I met her at the Charles DeGaulle Airport and together we hauled our suitcases onto the subway and found our way to our rented apartment for the week. Okay if I’m being honest here, Elizabeth found our way to the apartment, I just followed along like the well behaved parent I was. We walked all over Paris for the entire week, and on Elizabeth’s actual 27th birthday were standing on top of the Eiffel Tower together, another life highlight for me.
I would like to introduce you to the amazing woman who has the good fortune, or perhaps misfortune of sharing half my DNA, Elizabeth Louise entered this world on a cold January day at 3:58 p.m. at the Niagara Falls General Hospital. She was named after two of her great-grandmothers. If memory serves me correctly she was 6 pounds 8 ounces and measured 17 inches tall. I was there when she made her entrance, but in all honesty it’s all a bit of a blur to me now.
She grew up being a happy child, an active child and a pretty well behaved child, yes and dare I say it, a very cute child.
We moved to a country home where Elizabeth stayed with my wife and I, until she moved to her Mom’s the summer she was fourteen. Elizabeth and I always got along very well, she was a good helper and like to learn so she and I would be building or fixing things in the workshop, or changing electrical fixtures in the house or working on the truck or tractor. I was a runner and when I would go for a run Elizabeth would often join me on her bike, carrying my water bottle. During the run we would have the nicest conversations, away from all other worldly distractions. It is one of the things I am very grateful for, that Elizabeth and I were always able to talk.
When she finished the University of Ottawa she went to New Zealand and Australia living in each country for six months. Later she moved to England and lived in Leeds for a year, using her grandparent’s British Lineage to get her a work Visa. After returning to Canada she lived in Toronto before meeting a partner who she followed out to Victoria for several years, and then down to Colorado for several more.
She has worked for Ikea in four different cities and three different countries. Then in her thirties she decided to go back to school where she qualified as a welder which is the career she continues to pursue.
Elizabeth has always been somewhat fitness oriented, maybe she thought it looked like fun all those years earlier when she rode her bike beside me as I ran. One year she gave me the gift of running with me in a Father’s Day 5K in Ottawa, it was her first race. It was cold, it was raining and there was a large hill on the course. We finished that race side by side but she was in tears and physically spent. I thought that might have been both the start and the end of her running pursuits, but it turned out she was no quitter. We ran numerous other races together over the years, and in time I no longer had to wait for her, it was her waiting for me. In time she has beaten just about all my running records, and done several marathons compared to my one. If that wasn’t enough she then took up Triathlons and eventually completed an Ironman, finishing under her goal of fourteen hours. Now days she is also competing in fitness competitions through her gym, in her last one she won her age category and was the third female overall. She was, and continues to be a fitness machine.
Now the person behind all these achievements also happens to be one of the nicest, kindest, most thoughtful people you could ever meet. Yes, you’re right I am very biassed, but I’m also right about this. She makes me so very proud, she will live on long after I am gone, and where she goes, a part of me will always go with her.
Sometimes in life we search far and wide for inspiring people or great stories, but sometimes we should stop and look a little closer to home, because sometimes those around us have stories just as amazing as those we seek out. Such is the case with Elizabeth, this beautiful, kind, wise, world traveller, adventurer, athlete and all round incredible person. She also happens to be my daughter, my legacy, and my best contribution to trying to make this world a better place.

JINJER's TATIANA SHMAILYUK Celebrates Seven Months Of Sobriety
Vocalist Tatiana Shmailyuk of Ukrainian modern metal frontrunners JINJER is celebrating seven months of sobriety.
On Saturday (July 15),the 36-year-old singer shared a new mirror selfie on Instagram and she captioned it: "#7monthssober today. Let's see how far I can get".
Last December, Tatiana spoke to Radioactive MikeZ, host of the 96.7 KCAL-FM program "Wired In The Empire", about how she met her husband, former SUICIDE SILENCE and current P.O.D. touring drummer Alex Lopez. She said: "I met him through Internet. Of course, he was a famous person in the heavy music industry. So I liked him. And then it kind of happened that they [SUICIDE SILENCE] invited us to be a support act for them in Bratislava, Slovakia back in 2017. So I was, like, 'Well, that's destiny.' We took a picture together after the show. And then we started chatting through Internet. It was not very consistent talk — once a month, once every three months, short [messages]. And then we were talking about us, JINJER, coming to the States, and at that time it seemed impossible to come here, because, oh my God. [Laughs] And a year after, in 2018 I think, we went to the United States supporting CRADLE OF FILTH. And he came to our show to say hi and stuff. And then here and there, that's how it happened. So I think I made it happen. [Laughs]"
When Radioactive MikeZ noted that she was the "aggressive one," Tatiana clarified: "Not aggressive, no. I just was more enthusiastic. You know what I mean. Sometimes women have to do the first step to get what we want. [Laughs]"
Tatiana also talked about what it was about Alex's appearance that first drew her to him. She said: "Yeah, I felt like he looks like me, but like a male version of me. We're both shorties, brown eyes, brown hairs. I love Mexican culture, and he's full-blown Mexican."
Asked how she likes living in Whittier, California, where she shares a home with Lopez, Tatiana said: "Well, I like it because it's in the middle of everything — 30 minutes to downtown L.A., 30 minutes to Laguna Beach, 30 minutes to another beach to another beach and another beach, and then an hour to Big Bear mountains. So it's the perfect location. But I don't go out much because, honestly, I didn't find anything to go out to. [Laughs] And I have a lot of work to do, so I'm just sitting there chilling in the house, enjoying the sun and hummingbirds flying here and there. So, [it's] pretty cool. I love California in general — it's a beautiful place. I don't think there's a big difference between [Whittier] and another small town somewhere in California."
JINJER will embark on its own headline tour following the band's support dates on DISTURBED's 2023 "Take Back Your Life" trek with fellow special guests BREAKING BENJAMIN. The headline trek kicks off on September 7 in Huntsville, Alabama, making stops across Canada and the U.S., including Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto and more before wrapping up in Vancouver on September 25. xxviii: Homecoming
Cat decided to go and spend the night at Matt's place. The mutant left her apartment using everyday clothes, she'd been Copycat for almost two whole weeks. She also made a point to knock on his door instead of teleporting.
The man welcomed her in with a short laugh. She thought he'd be mad because she hadn't called, but he turned around and spoke to someone in his living room. "You guys are in luck!"
Karen and Foggy's voices came from inside the home causing Cat's heart to jump out of her chest. She beamed and jumped into Karen's arms squeezing her tightly. "Oh my god!"
"I'm so happy to see you!" The woman said. "Where have you been?" Her blue eyes landed on Cat's scars and her smile faltered.
"Take a seat, you have to eat with us it's the law," Foggy handed her a can of regular coke.
"You didn't call," Matt said, though he was smiling as much as the others.
"Well, I'm here," she replied. "Isn't that better?"
"Much better!" Karen exclaimed. "Are you in the mood for Mexican, or..?"
"Whatever you want. I haven't eaten, I was moving back in."
"Back where?" Matt asked promptly.
"The city," she smiled. "I'll stay here for a while."
He understood what she meant. "Good to hear."
"That's amazing! We're hiring, if you're interested," Foggy offered.
Matt laughed. "I don't think she'll have time to work as our secretary, Foggy."
"I'll think about it," she conceded. "But this means you're doing well, I hope?"
"It certainly takes up most of our time, we need someone to help us handle the office," Karen admitted. "I would love to work with you, but Matt's right, you have stuff going on."
The way they were all looking at Cat amused her. They all knew she wasn't a regular woman, but she doubted Karen had disclosed to Matt and Foggy what she suspected, and probably she didn't know about Foggy's discovery.
"Well, I just came back from a mission with Nightcrawler and now he's shipping Billy Russo to prison, so I have an empty schedule at the moment."
"Nice!" Foggy paused. "Wait." He looked at Karen, then at Matt. "She also knows?!"
Karen glanced at him. "You didn't?"
"How long have you known? Always?"
"Kinda," she shrugged. "Cat never confirmed it. I mean..." She looked back at the young woman and smiled. "Copycat?"
Cat laughed and nodded. "Yeah, that's me."
"How did you know?!"
Karen vaguely gestured at her. "Name and hair are kind of the same, only a different color... not like she tries to hide her face either—"
"She always wears that mask, what do you mean?" Foggy demanded.
"All you had to do was look into it," Karen insisted. "We came back and Matt had a new, younger friend with no connections, if you'd asked around you would've known Copycat was in the area during the blip, and Matt doesn't go out of his way to make friends."
The man frowned, grinning as he spoke. "I'm sociable enough."
"Sure you are, Matty," Karen patted the man's knee.
Cat opened her drink and downed it pleasantly. This was the nicest welcome she could've hoped for.
"Well?"
"Russo's not a problem anymore."
"I'm assuming I'm off the hook?"
"You should still be careful. As the CEO—"
"I have my own paranoia to deal with, please stop. Have you talked to Happy?"
"That is one dumb question."
"He knows you're back."
"I expected no less."
"He wants to see you."
"Many people do," she sighed. "I miss him, but I can't visit everyone while Kraven is out there. I have to deal with that first."
"You're still thinking about a new team of Avengers?"
"Well, I know most heroes on earth," she shrugged. "I'll give them a call."
"Kurt called me."
"Did he mention Deadpool?"
"Who's Deadpool?"
"Why did he call you?" Cat changed the subject, she could only imagine the way he'd freak out if he knew about her friendship with the mercenary.
"He says that you liked living in the other universe."
She laughed. "I wonder why he thinks that. I just said it was nice."
"He says that you told him and it sounded like you wanted out of this one."
Cat rolled her eyes. "He's got it wrong!"
"Spider-man existed in that other universe," he added in that voice she'd always hated, the one he used when he was trying to win an argument.
"Yes."
"A Spider-man your age."
Her heart started racing. "I don't care, I don't see why you guys would. It's in the past."
"He was the reason you became who you are now, Stray. Losing him changed you," he pressed, and he wasn't wrong. "You've lost him too many times, it's okay to feel worn out about it when it keeps coming back like that—"
"I didn't lose him 'cause this Spider-man wasn't even mine, to begin with," she scowled. Why were her friends pressing on that subject? "Just because I told Kurt that I would go hang out with that other guy—"
"You are?"
"My point is," she raised her voice in annoyance. "I'm trying my best, Harley. You know how much I love running, but you two coming at me like I'm packing my bags is not helping."
The young man paused, whether he believed her or not she couldn't tell, but at least he sounded a little ashamed when he spoke. "That's not what we're doing. We want to make sure... We're listening."
"I see that," she replied, though she didn't think much about what he meant by that. "And I love you more than I've ever loved any Spider-man."
"I... would like to believe that," he said, and she could almost picture his wistful expression.
He and Kurt had to stop saying that, but she really couldn't blame them. The mutant was well aware of why she'd befriended Harley in the first place, back when she was eighteen. Whom he reminded her of, and even if he didn't remember the boy's name or face, he still knew Spider-man was at the core of everything.
"Keep me posted," he said before ending the call. "I'd like to know how things are going from time to time."
"Same goes for you," she murmured. "G'night, Junior."
"You fought with your friends again?"
She pondered her response. "It isn't a fight when both sides are defending the same thing. They're trying to help, but the way they're doing it is not quite right... Though I change so often they can't keep up..."
"At least you don't decline their help, and I'm sure you're communicating better..."
"Matt," she warned him, and he let out a short chuckle.
"Right, you hate it when I do that... you used to love it when I pointed out the ways you were doing well."
"Looking for approval is no longer trendy," she joked. "I don't want people to treat me like this. I get why Tony got upset every time anyone clapped and cheered when he showed decency. It's a little humiliating."
Matt unbuttoned the first part of his shirt while walking toward his room. "Are you staying the night?"
Her eyes lingered on his back, then she shook her head. "No. I'm going back to my apartment... before I ruin my good streak of exemplary behavior."
He laughed, closing the sliding door so he could change. "Stay strong, Kitty."
She scowled and flipped him off even though there was a wall between them (he'd be able to tell anyway). Cat then seized her jacket and walked away from a half-naked Matthew.
Peter had time to waste, and he asked Cat if she'd like to visit May's grave. They could go to Pietro's after. She agreed.
Peter showed up with a bouquet of white roses, he waved at her as she walked up to him. "I come every week, winter's over so I'll have to change her flowers more often, but if you want to leave some of your own you're welcome to..."
Cat looked up at the trees around them, they were greener than the last time she'd set foot in the cemetery, and it was a pretty sight. When Peter had buried his aunt, her memory had been erased, so she hadn't been there at the funeral, she felt a little guilty about it.
"How've you been holding up?" She asked him.
"I'm okay," he shrugged. "I'm in a hurry most of the time, don't get to sit and think about it. I guess that's good, it keeps me from getting sad."
"Do you have time to enjoy life, though?"
Peter laughed shortly. "Do you?"
Cat grinned. "When was the last time we hung out just to waste time?"
Peter squinted, trying to remember. "I go to a study group but sometimes we get bored and start playing Among Us?"
She snorted. "I don't think that counts."
He sighed. "It's something..."
"Better than nothing," she finished.
Peter stopped in front of his aunt and uncle's grave and stared at it with a pensive expression, he crouched and left the flowers in front of it. "I want to live a worthy life for them, C. That's all I care about." Cat tried not to, but a little giggle left her lips. Without being able to help it, she started laughing out loud. Peter looked up at her with annoyance. "What's so funny?"
"It's absurd," she shook her head. "I had the same conversation with Shuri and she said the same thing... more or less."
"What's wrong with that?" He frowned, still not understanding.
"It's perfectly normal, but what's hilarious is that when I went through it everyone acted like I was losing my goddamn mind for dropping my plans just to honor dead people. I remember you were outraged at the thought—"
"Yeah, yeah, shut up," he lowered his face in embarrassment. "I didn't know how it felt... to lose someone close to you because of what you do... it changes everything."
She patted his shoulder. "You handled it faster and better than I did. I mean, you didn't quit school, and you didn't go on a killing spree. I like to think you learned from me. Makes it all worth it." The word caused something like annoyance to raise up on her chest.
Peter nodded. "I did learn from you, C. I owe you a lot." He stared at his aunt's grave with a soft gaze.
"Worthy," she said, her mind still on the subject. "We throw that word around a lot, all of us," Cat made a face. "Do we even know what we're talking about? Why do we think that means living all alone and broken? Why do we treat that like it's something noble and not just cowardly and incoherent?"
Peter stared up at her curiously, he didn't have a proper answer to that. His mouth blurted out the second thought that came to him. "Any idea of where Kraven is?"
"Probably on his way," she said, eyes still absent. "I'll see him when I see him, I won't give him the pleasure to feel like I'm participating in the hunt."
"Don't you think you're giving him the benefit to take you by surprise? Isn't that a hunter's line of expertise?"
Cat sighed, looking back at him. "What am I supposed to do, Pete? I could go find him, but I don't know... feels like a waste of my time."
"Are you saying you have something better to do than to save your life?" He raised a brow.
"Regrouping the Avengers, finding a place where to train the new heroes... basically rebuild my home and make it better than it ever was," she nudged his leg with one foot. "Would you be interested in that?"
"In getting recruited, or training heroes?"
"Whatever you prefer."
He pondered the options. "Depends."
"On what?"
"If it's not in the city, I won't do it."
She raised a brow. "You sound sure."
"I am."
Cat nodded with an approving smile. "New York's lucky to have you."
"It has you, too."
"I don't stay in places long enough to consider they have me," she wrinkled her nose. "Not my thing."
"You've been here for a decade, though."
"In and out."
"And why do you always come back here?" Peter asked with genuine curiosity.
"I've been thinking about it," she said deep in thought. "I'm home, Peter. My body, and what I do with it. As for why I keep coming back..." Cat grinned. "All the cute people live here."
Peter snorted. "What about L.A? You could live there with Kate and Yelena..."
Cat grimaced. "I don't want to give her false hopes. She would convince herself that we could get back together, that I could have a life with her, she's always been a dreamer..."
"Right," he heaved a sigh. "Keep forgetting you think dreams are useless."
She mumbled a reply. "Not useless. Just unbearable..."
"Cat," Peter stood up again after leaving the flowers, a worried look on his face. "What are you waiting for, really?"
"Nothing."
"Uh-huh," he said, not believing her. "And I don't walk past MJ's coffee shop every day."
Cat looked at him with a smirk. "You do that?"
"I said I don't," he raised a brow, shoving her shoulder playfully as he walked past.
"You're a stalker," she chuckled, following him back to the entrance.
"It's getting late," Peter checked the hour on his phone. When he put it back, the young man placed his arm around her shoulders and walked alongside her, leaning his head on top of hers affectionately for a moment. "C'mon, time to see Pietro..."

San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site
The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site is one of the most significant historical locations in the United States. This site commemorates the Battle of San Jacinto, the decisive conflict of the Texas Revolution in 1836 that secured Texas' independence from Mexico. With the towering San Jacinto Monument, the Battleship Texas, and miles of scenic trails, this landmark offers a unique blend of history, nature, and culture, making it a must-visit for history buffs, nature lovers, and tourists alike.
The Historical Significance of the San Jacinto Battleground
The Battle of San Jacinto, fought on April 21, 1836, was a turning point in North American history. Led by General Sam Houston, the Texian army defeated Mexican forces under General Antonio López de Santa Anna in just 18 minutes. The battle resulted in Texas gaining its independence, eventually leading to its annexation by the United States in 1845.
Visitors to the site can stand on the very ground where Texian soldiers charged into battle, changing the course of history. The San Jacinto Monument and Museum provides a deep dive into the events leading up to and following the battle, offering interactive exhibits, artifacts, and historical accounts.
The San Jacinto Monument
At the heart of the battleground is the San Jacinto Monument, an awe-inspiring 567-foot obelisk, making it the tallest war memorial in the world—even taller than the Washington Monument. Constructed in 1939, the monument is crowned with a 220-ton star, symbolizing the Lone Star State.
Inside the monument, visitors can explore the San Jacinto Museum of History, which houses exhibits on Texas' revolutionary past, Native American history, and early European settlements. An elevator ride to the observation deck offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Houston Ship Channel, the battlegrounds, and the city skyline.
Battleship Texas: A Symbol of American Naval Power
While the Battleship Texas (BB-35) is currently undergoing restoration, it has long been a major attraction at the San Jacinto Battleground. This legendary warship served in both World War I and World War II, making it the only remaining battleship to have fought in both conflicts. Visitors have historically been able to tour the ship’s decks, gun turrets, and engine rooms, getting a firsthand look at naval warfare history.
Though the ship is undergoing repairs, it will eventually return to the public eye, reinforcing the site's historical importance.
Exploring the San Jacinto Battleground Park
Beyond its historical sites, the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site is a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park covers 1,200 acres, featuring walking and biking trails, picnic areas, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Whether you're an avid birder, a photographer, or simply looking to enjoy a day in nature, the battleground offers a peaceful retreat.
Visitors can also walk along the Juan Seguín Historic Trail, a scenic route named after the famous Tejano leader who played a crucial role in the Texas Revolution. The trail provides educational markers detailing key moments in Texas history.
Educational Programs and Events
Throughout the year, the San Jacinto Battleground hosts reenactments, educational tours, and cultural events. The annual San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment, held in April, brings history to life with live demonstrations, costumed actors, and battle simulations.
School groups, history enthusiasts, and families can participate in guided tours, led by knowledgeable historians who provide in-depth insights into the battle and its significance.
Nearby Attractions
If you’re visiting the San Jacinto Battleground, consider exploring nearby attractions:
Houston Ship Channel – One of the busiest waterways in the world, offering boat tours and industrial history insights.
Baytown Nature Center – A beautiful coastal preserve with walking trails, fishing spots, and birdwatching opportunities.
Armand Bayou Nature Center – A great spot for kayaking, wildlife watching, and nature walks.
Conclusion
The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site is more than just a park; it is a living testament to Texas’ fight for independence. Whether you’re drawn by the rich history, the towering monument, or the scenic landscapes, this landmark offers an unforgettable experience.
For Texans and history lovers across the nation, a visit to San Jacinto is an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of heroes and witness the legacy of a defining moment in American history. If you’re in the Houston or Pasadena, TX area, be sure to add this historic site to your travel itinerary!

Missing Hiker From San Diego County Last Seen During Heat Wave
It is generally not wise to take hikes during heat waves due to the high risk of heat-related illnesses, including heatstroke and heat exhaustion. Heat waves bring extreme temperatures that can quickly lead to dehydration and overheating, especially when engaging in physical activities like hiking. It's crucial to prioritize safety by choosing cooler times of day, such as early morning or late afternoon, for outdoor activities. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after the hike to stay hydrated. Wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and applying sunscreen can also help prevent heat-related illnesses. PVRIS: OIL & WATER TOUR
25.06.2024 @ The Irving Plaza, New York (1,200 Capacity)
Written July 2024
My first concert abroad!! What the actual fuck??? This was without a doubt the most sudden we’ve ever bought concert tickets, and I don't think either of us regret it one bit. My sister and I are HUGE fans of Pale Waves. Me especially in the past few months, and it just so happened that they were opening for one of my sister’s favourite bands. In New York. Whilst we were there. It’s a no-brainer. Right? (Yes, it was) I looked as a joke for any concerts that week, the week before we left, just because why not? But when we saw that PVRIS were playing with Pale Waves as an opener, it wasn’t a joke anymore. Although we did wait till the day before to buy the tickets (🫣). I didn't know any of PVRIS' songs going into the concert but I was excited either way
The first opener was an artist neither of us had heard of before, a Mexican artist called ‘Bruses’, and she’s definitely gained fans in both of us. Her electro-pop songs have a clear rock influence that made it so much fun to jump and dance around. It was also my first ever mosh pit, which was exciting, and I don't think I could've asked for a better first mosh pit experience. I didn’t even realize that Bruses was actually in the pit, too, until the end!!
The second opener was one of my favourite bands called ‘Pale Waves’, from the UK too. I’ve wanted to see them live for a while, having just missed out on their last UK tour as I only started listening to their music right after it. I was more excited to watch them than Pvris to be honest. They killed it and I loved every second of their set.
By the time PVRIS came on, I had left @artbyamixx in the front few rows and found a nice spot at the back to sit in and rest, especially after two days walking around the city. From my spot, I was able to sit and watch PVRIS’ whole set and I think it was a nice way to be introduced to a band my sister loves so much. I’ll definitely be checking them out properly in the future.
It means so much to see 3 sapphic artists all on the same night, and especially in pride month at such a historic venue. We had so much fun watching all 3 acts and it was honestly just the best night ever.
