I love drawing in the Lego Monkie Kid style, but I want to also develop a style that's more "mine" I'm still experimenting around what I like best; I'm not 100% sure yet.

I wanted to have 2 styles because:

1. It's fun to experiment around (even though the very first stage of figuring out how to draw a character can be frustrating, lol).

2. Last time I've drawn characters in a radically different style from mine (the sonic characters) for a long while, I went back trying to draw humans again and it sent me into art block immediatly, I felt like I couldn't draw humans anymore and I'm still struggling with it, so I don't want a repeat of that.

I think from here I want to try and add stuff to their designs. For example, on these sketches, I already added the turquoise lines under Wukong's eyes because I LOVE when people draw him with them. I also love the curly hair that resembles his nimbus that some people draw him into. I dunno if I want to implement that because I hardly change character designs too much; it was already hard for me to change Mac's and Wukong's colors for skin and eyes (I still want to slightly change Mac's eyes color, though).

Fun fact: I made the 2 doodles of Wukong looking down while I listening to Monster from Epic: The Musical. I dunno, it just clicked. I've been imagining Wukong singing it, lol.

the difference between the minecraft movie vs the lego movie, sonic movies, fnaf movie (and to a smaller extent, the mario bros movie) is that the minecraft movie feels like it was made to draw in a profit, with little regard for the fans or the creators who made it popular. the other four were, with special references and genuinely good ideas. hell, paramount spent an additional four months to change sonic's design because the original one was so bad that the fans demanded a change.

movies based on pre-existing media are better if people who genuinely enjoy said media is working on it. the lego movie is a special case of this, because it perfectly emulated the old youtube stop-motion style of legos while including good animation and a fun story.

with the minecraft movie, i promise i want to enjoy it but it seems like they're trying way too hard to emulate the jumanji format, with humans entering a game. it doesn't fit. what also doesn't fit is casting jack black as steve. it's a casting choice that reminds me of will smith as deadshot from Suicide Squad. jack black isn't playing steve, he's playing himself.

in my opinion the style of the minecraft movie could've gone a couple ways, used a polished version of the youtube animations of minecraft that have been used since forever, use a 2D animation style that resembles minecraft, or used a completely and fully live action minecraft with a shitload of practical effects to make it look cool. anything other than combining cgi and real actors.

Uhh, tbh I do not have many of them? <;D So far I have a few common/boring ones (which are mostly about monkeys in general lol??):

While Apetrully is the 33d Monkey King, due to his obligations in Big Green, the Monkey Castle is ruled by a council of most trusted, in his name.

Since we never see any other Monkeys in the show, I like to think that they are one of the biggest pacifists in the Hidden Kingdom but Apetrully was an outlier who, while a pacifist is the one who wants to DO something for peace. Other monkeys? Not so much. But, as one of the richest species, they sponsor Apetrully's war/peace efforts, even if they do not participate in them.

Apetrully is a blacksheep amongst his people. A lot of monkeys are sort of 'royalty', high on social status (maybe because of their connection to legendary First Monkey King...) and do not spend much time socializing with others, while Apetrully eagerly reached out to both other animals and humans. But his people actually see it as a good thing, so he has a lot of support as 33d King (with a tiiiiny exception of dissedants in his court, but thats not for here and now ;3)

I like to think that Apetrully was an orphan, who lost his parents, but was saved by some outsiders and brought back home to Monkey Castle. That small kind interaction with other animals/humans became a seed for his desire of everyone living together in peace.

We saw that Apetrully has some battle prowess, so I like to think that he was educated not only in politics/logistics of war as he was growing up, but also trained physically, but his pacifism and beliefs prevent him from making much use of that knowledge.

I like to think that he is much more graceful than anyone suspects, but because he is constantly in disguise he kinda acts more clumsy than he actually is.

It krept up on him suddenly, but after the finale of defeating the Twin Masters and High Roller, Apetrully realized that he doesnt want to be a King anymore. He seriously thinks about passing on the position and title, and fully focusing on Big Green as a new bastion of peace. Also about telling the truth about who he is to everyone.

Apetrully knows every hero's backstories (and secrets and past, even if in broad strokes)! And despite his seemingly air-headed and chatty nature, he guards all the knowledge others entrusted on him.

It also serves as Daddy Daughter time, as well, since Achilles is also an early riser. They'll go on runs, make breakfast, stretch, and talk about whatever is on Philia's mind. It makes him happy that she feels so safe that she just rambles on about anything, so sure that he's going to understand some of the wild things she's talking about.

It isn't until she's a teenager that she starts to sleep in more, which is fair bc she's a growing child. That's more in line with her Papa, who will not wake up before 10 if he has the day off. It's something that Patroclus had to tell her, that hey he works hard and is tired. So he'll spend time with her during the day, but she waits excitedly but patiently for him to wake up. It warms his heart how she's always so excited.

[OC] ALEXANDER "ALEX" MILES

A Character Study from one of my Guts and Blackpowder artworks, specifically the one titled "Holy Trinity". One of the characters' has been named and was also given a description.

Alex Miles is a 23-year old Soldier of the 35th Regiment of Foot. Prior to his enlistment, he loved making artworks consisting of pencil sketches of landscapes, animals as well as people too. Sociable with the girls, as well as with the boys. He also has a habit of crossdressing whom he does for fun. Sometimes, he would invite his art friends to draw him in a dress hence his long hair. When he enlisted, the Army forced him to cut it down - but when the Blight came, he refused to get a haircut to regrow his long hair. His squad mates made rumors that he is gay, or is actually a woman. His orientation is currently unknown, but he is possibly Bi.

I changed my art style to make my characters more organic and less similar to AI-generated Roblox Images that some people on Reddit pointed out (as well as making my poses more dynamic to give the character a personality - and I shall try my best to do so in future works.). I added in a nose and some ears to the characters while retaining the boxy head that Roblox Avatars in Guts and Blackpowder have. In fact, I based the new head design off the 1980's LEGO Technic figures that they used to have, whilst the hands are influenced from the works of Jim Davis. Besides... LEGO came first before AI Art and Roblox.

Canon vs Headcanon (MK Edition)

You can ask literally anybody who knows me, I have a thing for main characters. Majority of the time when I watch/read stuff, the main character is either my #1 or #2.

Anyways, I giggled the entire time drawing in the lego style (regardless of how unfinished it feels next to my own art style-) and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to draw in it more. I gave my MK vitiligo to represent the mask that Wukong & Macaque have, and the MK I drew here is pre-meeting Ink MK. My bestie also found something awhile back that MK was supposed to have a tooth gap or whatever and I love tooth gaps so it's there too. I will talk about this for ages if you let me but this description is becoming a bit much.

Maybe I'll do this again, probably with Macaque or Red Son. Speaking of Red Son, I do have more art with him at the ready, and I constantly re-read the thirsty-ass hashtags people reblogged him with. Please, don't stop. It makes my day and I have so much fun reading them. If it helps, I think he's pretty too.

Hey, @staff @support @wip @engineering @changes @humans it’s me again. Do you have a second? I would like to draw your attention to something.

So, you know how when you start typing in a tag, it’ll list tags to choose from based on what you’re typing in? Y’know, you start typing “star” and the list will populate “Star Wars” and “Lego Star Wars” among a few other tags you can tap on to auto-complete what you’re typing if you want? Yeah, it’s about that function.

I assumed that these tags populated based on popularity or number of uses. But when I saw some weird shit populate that read more like a clickbait article headline than a tag an actual human being had used at some point, I did some experimenting.

To preface, the tags that I'm about to list here have never once been used on my blog, and are not suggestions from my history. They are purely on tumblr's side.

Did you know that if you type in simply “I need,” the following tags auto-populate?

“I need to lose so much weight,” “I need to lose this weight,” and “I need to ⭐️ve.” Yikes. Knowing this, out of curiosity, I typed in "I want" next. Guess what I found?

"I want to ⭐️ve," "i want to cvt," and "i want to be skinnier." Again, yikes.

But perhaps this is a bit too leading. What if I just type in "I w" instead?

It auto-populates with some repeats, PLUS some more concerning shit. we got "i want to ⭐️ve," "i wanna lose weight," "i will reach my ugw," "i wanna be skinnier," "i wanna be tiny," "i want to cvt," "i want to be skinnier," "i wanna be perfect," "i will lose weight," and "i wish i was weightless."

Let's try just "i n" too, for fun.

We get "i need to lose so much weight," "i need to lose this weight," "i need to ⭐️ve," and "i need to be weightless."

With this in mind, I typed in "ana" because I recognize all of this as stuff people struggling with anorexia have historically said on this platform. Once again, we have some concerning things auto-populate:

"ana meal," "ana bllog," "ana tricks," "tw ana diary," "ana trigger," and "ana rant."

Here's my question: how and why are these auto-populating? This kind of thing literally goes against your own community guidelines. Here's a screenshot from those community guidelines:

I highlighted the text that reads "Don't post content that actively promotes or glorifies self-harm. This includes content that urges or encourages others to: cut or injure themselves; embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders;"

I realize that monitoring tags like this isn't going to be perfect, some things inevitably slip through the cracks. But this many tags? Someone somewhere is dropping the ball.

That also leads me to another point.

I, as with many other people on this website, the self-proclaimed "queerest place on the internet," occasionally tag posts with something to the tune of "terfs do not interact" because... well, being a terf is to be inherently transphobic and anti-queer. I noticed something peculiar recently while tagging a post as such.

I'm willing to bet real actual money that the tag "terfs dni" gets used significantly more than the tag "terfsafe," so... why does the auto-populated tag list look like this when you type in "terf?"

We get the auto-populated tags "terfblr," "terfsafe," and "terfism." But not a sign of "terfs dni" or "terfs don't touch." Why is that?

So, again out of pure curiosity, I typed in "rad."

"radblr," "radical feminists do interact," "radical feminist safe," "radqueer" (which isn't radfem related but also shouldn't be on that list), "radical feminism," and "radical feminist community" auto-populate. Considering radical feminism and being a terf are literally the same thing, this is further concerning.

For shits and giggles, I typed in "lgb" to see what I'd get.

Why on EARTH is "lgb drop the t" the second auto-populated tag?

Let's try just the word "gender."

"gender critical" is the second auto-populated tag. Another transphobic term.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the fact trans women can't post entirely safe for work selfies on this website anymore without their post getting flagged as mature content, or the swath of trans women who have had their blogs entirely terminated for no reason recently.

Also, interestingly enough, in your community guidelines, under the hate speech guideline, you have written "Don't encourage violence or hatred. Don't post content for the purpose of promoting or inciting the hatred of, or dehumanizing, individuals or groups based on race, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or disease." You may be interested to know that terfs and other transphobes do, in fact, encourage, promote, and incite hatred of, and dehumanize, individuals or groups based on gender and gender identity.

Perhaps what you have auto-populate for tags should reflect things that are popular and inclusive on this website, not... whatever this is. If this is truly the queerest place on the internet, and you want to continue to cultivate it as such, you should probably at least act like it.

Lui’er(Macaque) is the most agile and stealthy out of all the primates when it comes to his fighting style and powers

Is immortal because he died and came back, so his body just stays at the age he died

Can’t draw but he’s not as as bad as the long armed Gibbion or The red buttocked baboon

Wears a LOT of glamour (it’s basically illusions that works like makeup)

Lingming Shihou (the wise stone monkey)

Shihou is known by many names,Sun Wukong, monkey king,great sage equal to heaven,handsome monkey king, Idiotic Buffon etc.

He is physically the strongest out of all the primates when it comes to raw power

He’s had many careers to keep himself busy with immortality

He’s the only primate that is both immortal and indestructible

Has stolen priceless artifacts in his down time
