Leosagi/Leochi in Musicals

I have noticed that some people are putting the Epic Musical associated with ROTTMNT (Mostly revolving around Leo). I just have to say, I haven’t listened to the Epic Musical, but my God why hasn’t anyone done Leosagi in other musicals 😭. I haven’t watched many musicals, but here are some suggestions (that no one will use 💀).

Musicals That Can Fit Leosagi/Leochi

Hamilton - Historical Musical about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton

I’ve seen people using this in other fandoms. For this one it’s mostly Casey and Future Leo. But to include Usagi:

“Helpless“ - The roles technically don’t matter, but Leo could be Eliza (because he has a lot of siblings and also is blue) and Usagi could be Alexander. Usagi’s friends could be Laf, Muligan, or Laurens. Very wholesome song! It could also be reversed with Leo as Alexander. His brothers would be Laf (Donnie), Mulligan (Mikey/Raph), Laurens (Mikey/Someone Else), or Aaron (Raph/Donnie) if this was the case.

“Satisfied” - For some Angst, Leo or Usagi wouldn’t be Eliza 💀 (or if people ship Donsagi, idk the name, then this is a perfect song LOL)! Usagi could be Angelica and Leo Alexander or vise versa. (Context: Angelica and Eliza are siblings, Angelica is the oldest and likes Hamilton. However, she sees her sister Eliza likes Alex as well, so Angelica sets Eliza and Alex up and the two are getting married. Basically, a love triangle)

“Congratulations“ or “First Burn” / “Burn” - This is just to cause more Angst and rub salt over the wound to match with “Satisfied”. “Burn” is basically Eliza and Alexander breaking up because of “Say No To This” when Alex has an affair.

“Dear Theodosia“ - Can be used for the headcanon of Jotaro as Leosagi’s kid & Aaron Burr as Cassandra which would make Theodosia as Casey Jr. 

“Blow Us All Away” and “Stay Alive (Reprise)” - Used as the above. Jotaro can be Phillip (Alex and Eliza’s son). Or maybe replace the son as Casey Jr. Either way, could be a fun idea.

In The Heights - Hispanic musical with people who have a dream and struggling with identity/poverty. (Idk how to describe it).

This musical can be use for those fans who like to headcanon the Hamato children knowing Spanish. There are 2 couples in this play (Benny and Nina | Vanessa and Usnavi) that could fit Leosagi and there is a musical and a movie (I prefer movie audio since it sounds newer than the musical since that’s kinda old).

“The Club“ - Just for funsies. Leo/Usagi getting jealous that the other is gaining a lot of attention on the dance floor with other men (Imma assume Leo aka Vanessa is on the dance floor).

“Blackout” - Follows right after the previous song. Only part that would fit here is an audio most might have heard. The whole “You barely even danced with me” and then “Don’t make me laugh, I’ve been trying all night, you’ve been shaking your ass with half of the Heights”.

“When You’re Home“ - Could be wholesome with using Usagi as Benny (since there’s no confirm race) and Leo as Nina (Afro-Latino and half Japanese moment? Black Hispanic and half Japanese?).

“Sunrise“ - This is only in the musical version, but it’s so cute!! Takes place after “Blackout” where Nina and Benny found each other and stayed with each other. Nina teaches Benny some Spanish. “Well how do you say kiss me?” “Besume” “and how do you say hold me?” All of that. And also a moment where Benny is scared that Nina’s dad is going to know that Nina is with him (Nina’s dad disproves of Benny). Obviously, Leo is Nina and Benny is Usagi.

Bare: A Pop Opera - (TW: Self-harm also Drugs) Gay musical with two boys struggling in a Catholic Boarding School. They are secretly dating, but one wants the come out and the other doesn’t because of his strict father (also he has a twin).

I really recommend this musical, it might be slow but it can get you in your feels. Btw, it’s a sad musical (Trigger warning). Honestly, any songs can fit because it’s literally a gay story. Also a theater Romeo and Juliet play they are doing. A play within a musical.

“You And I“ - Listening to the lyrics ummm, Leo fits almost TOO WELL with being Jason 😂 Jason is the one with a twin named Nadia (who believes she is fat and she harms herself). Their dad is rich and Jason is the favorite sibling. Anyways, Jason is Leo and Peter is Usagi. This song is an introduction to how they are together (always being in secret and having to pull away when people are around).

“Plain Jane Fat Ass“ - Twin moment with Jason (Leo) and Nadia (Donnie). Angst or Hurt/Comfort with the two.

“Best Kept Secret“ - Self explanatory

“Ever After” - THIS SONG OMG. So Leo and Usagi are having a heated argument and it’s tense and pretty sad.

“Wedding Bells“ - Angst. Usagi imagines Leo with another person.

“See Me“ - This is gonna have to change, so Peter is trying to come out to his mother, but she is clearly trying to ignore it. So This could be Leo being Peter and Splinter being the mom.

“God Don’t Make No Trash“ - Sister Chantelle (I didn’t spell that right. Anyways this is definitely Mikey aka Dr. Feels) and Peter talking about sexuality (kinda).

I don’t know who can be considered as “Father”. Maybe Draxum or Big Mama.

“Bare“ - Hurt, no comfort between Peter and Jason.

Be More Chill - Awkward teens who are trying to be cool so they take a pill (From JAPAAAAAAN) and they are controlled kinda.

Main character, Jeremy, likes this quirky girl named Christine, so he’s trying to be cool to get with her. If you heard the audio (”I’m waiting for my porno to load”) then that’s this musical. I did see multiple Donnie animations (and a Leo) with the song “Michael In The Bathroom”. Yeah that’s this musical. Maybe Christine (Usagi), Jeremy (Leo), and Michael (Donnie).

The Idea: I included this musical mainly because the whole idea if that teenagers are trying to be cool by taking a pill that (roughly, hard to explain) has a person in their head who “helps” them be cool (in actuality, a douche or a player). With the headcanons of The Krang still in control of certain Turtles, I thought well maybe instead of inserting something like “Mind Raph”, just make the person in the head (aka a Squip) just the Krang 😂 (Same can be used for BeetleJuice The Musical)

“A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into“ - Pretty cute song from Christine (Usagi).

“Be More Chill Pt. 1″ - Basically when the Squip comes in. Like listen and imagine the Krang behind the voices trying to manipulate people 💀

“The Pitiful Children“ - Basically a ‘world domination’ song. So just Krangs.

Heathers - Basically the movie.

This potentially fits the 2003 Leosagi more, I have no idea. At least, if we make JD Miyamoto. TW: Murders, Explosives, E.D., Suicide, Drugs/Alcohols, and attempt S.A.

“Beautiful” Or “Candy Store“ - The roles (based on colors) are Chandler (Raph), Duke (Donnie), MacAmera (Didn’t spell that right, Mikey), Kurt & Ram (The Foot Dudes? Bebop & Rocksteady), Martha (Todd? LOL), JD (Usagi).

“Meant To Be Yours” - Please, I need Psychopathic Usagi or Leo, I’ll take any 😭

Heathers: The Musical (2022), another version of the musical with some altered lyrics and added songs with a bit new style of musical form. “I Will Never Shut Up Again” - Wonderful song for Duke, would like to see an animation of Donnie (I like villain songs, lol).

“Seventeen“ - Wholesome song, hurt/comfort kinda, where Usagi and Leo are singing about having a life together (and not a life of being murderers).

I would add “Dead Girl Walking” but this fandom seems to not do much NSFW stuff with this ship, so I’ll exclude that song along with “Blue” as a suggestion.

Daniel

Charles widmore- complete sociopath in many ways, only met Daniel when he was an adult to manipulate him into going to the island on which he would be killed by his mother which Charles witnessed

Boone

Split up with his mother at some point, was clearly left with a nanny frequently enough to kill her, definitely has unresolved issues with his dead stepfather as he fell in love with the stepsister

Miles,

Very obvious dad issues from being raised without him present. Did get to meet him but he was a bit of a dick tbh. I guess he did love him but too little too late

Michael

Little known about his dad but only his mum was looking after Walt off island. His role as a dad could be interpreted as daddy issues

Ana Lucia

Deffo has mommy issues but the lack of clear father figure points to possible daddy issues as does her time with Christian

Charlotte

Goes to shithole island to try to discover her father who was never there. Clearly has daddy issues regardless of her fathers (unknown) quality.

Frank

Has issues but there’s every chance they are NOT daddy issues. Good for him

Shannon

He’s dead and his widow is a terrible stepmother. Daddy issues up to here-may have contributed to her sleeping with her brother

Desmond

He had to raise his siblings so this points again to an absent (at the very least emotionally) father. Daddy issues

Eko

Had to raise his brother suggesting a largely absent father who wasn’t around much

Kate

Blew up her real father due to his general terribleness, her stepfather was in the army so probably has issues over him not being around all that much even though he seems like an alright guy

Jack

Jacks daddy issues regarding Christian are basically a main plot point of the show and even made it into the finale. Points to Christian for feeding into a lot of the characters daddy issues

Sawyer

Dear Mr Sawyer… probably the nastiest daddy issues, doesn’t really get much worse than murder suicide with your kid under the bed. All of sawyers bad bits are due to his daddy issues. Also has daddy issue ties to Christian and Anthony

Locke

Attempted murder was a pretty bad look from Anthony as was the kidney theft. Anthony traveled across the world giving kids daddy issues left right and centre, despite only Locke being shown as his biological kid

Ben

Skeletor was not a great dad and is a key reason captain bunny killer is so messed up. Also bens habit of adopting children (Ethan, Alex) is likely linked to his own crappy upbringing

Sayid

His dad the war hero gave him some toxic masculinity problems, sayid not killing a chicken is our only main clue but it was pretty dark

Libby

Like everything involving Libby’s past, her parents are a big mystery. She does have dead husband issues?

Sun

Mr Paik for sure messed Sun up. His treatment of Jin and his general murdery tendency affected sun not only as a child but also screwed up her marriage

Jin

Jins dad is the nicest guy on the list, but jin had intense daddy issues due to his shame and being raised by a single father.

Claire

Christian really putting it out of the park here! Being the result of an affair involving an American doctor cannot have been fun and his absence in her life probably didn’t help with her wanting to give Aaron up. Also may have contributed to her not trusting Charlie that much

Hurley

David Reyes is an asshole, but he’s a pretty run of the mill, leave my family and don’t come back til there’s money, but he made the most effort to fix things. Hugo has big daddy issues tho

Juliet

Pretty standard daddy issues but her parents divorce clearly stayed with her and led her into some pretty unhealthy relationships later on in life

Charlie

Charlie’s dad seems like quite a nice guy if I’m honest but his older brother messed him up enough I’m happy to say Charlie has something very close emotionally to daddy issues

Richard

Too much of an enigma for a strong analysis but imma go out on a limb and say yes

Bernard

I don’t think so?

She seems pretty well adjusted so I think no

Everyone on the island has been his dad at some point- probably missed Walt his original dad a lot

2023 Reading Wrap Up

I tried starting this post about 20 times already, and no introduction is really hitting. I am quite a bit hungover, and in dire need of a rest. But alas, I want to talk about all the books I read last year.

So I had the goal of reading as much as I physically could last year. Why? After finishing my degree, I was having trouble reading for the sake of reading. I wanted to be someone who read a lot, but my self-motivated reading habit was in the dumps. My sibling and I ended up making a bet to see who could read more in 2023, and I was determined to win.

I did win, but that's besides the point. My importantly, I am now back in the habit of reading again.

I really enjoyed starting my reading tag and making little write-ups summarizing my thoughts. I really appreciate everyone being so patient with my book-posting, especially as I gradually went from writing a sentence or two to rambling bullet point lists to well-thought out reviews. If you ever interacted with one of those posts-- thank you so much! I hope to continue in this upcoming year.

So to wrap up my year of reading, I figured I would rank all of the books I read. If I read an entire series, I'll count it as one entry on the list. Also, the ranking is going to be determined less by quality and more by personal enjoyment.

Ranking My 2023 Reads

#17) Breaking Time by Sasha Alsberg - This was my first read of the year, and my worst. This book is near unreadable in terms of prose, and features one of the most infuriating lines I have ever read in my entire life:

Add the most unoriginal plot I have ever seen, and this makes for one bad read. I knew it was going to be bad going on, but the levels of incompetency on display here was mind-boggling.

#16) Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan - Is this the worst book I read this year? No. But it definitely pissed me off more than the others. I didn't need this book to be good; I just wanted it to be fun, but it couldn't commit to a plot line long enough to do so. I will give this book credit for having one of the unintentionally funniest villains I have ever read. That man failed upwards and it was GREAT. No notes.

#15) Ariadne by Jennifer Saint - I don't think this book is terrible, but its flaws are the most glaring to me. Structurally, it's a mess. The prose tries to use imagery to cover up how much telling it's truly doing. Both hampered an overall decent plot.

#14) Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - This book wasn't really for me. It was an entertaining read, but the references to pop-culture were more cringey than humorous. I also could not stand how the book was ashamed to be escapist literature and tried to uplift itself with shallow critiques of American politics.

#13) Lightlark by Alex Aster - That I am putting this book so high on the list is a crime and an insult against every book ranked below it. If I was ranking off of quality alone, it would be the second worst book I read this year. Unfortunately, I started an inside joke with my friends about how I'm Lightlark's #1 Fan, which ended up increasingly my enjoyment of this very stupid book exponentially. #TeamOro

#12) Garrison Girl by Rachel Aarons - This book really isn't anything special, but its place in publishing and anime history tickles my brain. It's not bad but it's not all that good either.

#11) The End of Everything: (Astrophysically Speaking) by Katie Mack - Someone with a more thorough baseline on science would probably find this book more enjoyable than me. As is, I didn't understand half of it.

#10) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - A fast, enjoyable read. I think it reveals its hand a bit too quickly, but the plot overall is really fascinating. Lacking on prose, but it didn't need a lot of it. This is a book begging to be made into a movie (which will probably be better than the book itself).

#9) A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes - What this book lacks in originality and plot, it makes up for with comprehensiveness. As much as I enjoyed reading all of its varied perspectives, I am still peeved by how Penelope's perspective was wasted and how Haynes had no interest in writing from Helen's perspective.

#8) The Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin - A prime example of a book series that is objectively excellent, but was simply not for me. My interests didn't align with what the narrative thought was important. However, the characters are fantastic and what there is of the central conflict between mother and daughter is earth shattering.

#7) The Poppy War Trilogy by R.F. Kuang - An incredible fantasy series with some excellent characters and ideas. While I do think that the series is a little simplistic, it makes up for it by being endlessly entertaining. Except for the last book, which leaned too heavily into its grimdark flares.

#6) Beowulf by Unknown (Translated by Seamus Heaney) - A reread featuring a fantastic introduction from Heaney that connects the text to his Irish roots. The translation itself, while good, prioritized brevity a bit too much for my taste.

#5) Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - A long overdue reread that reaffirmed why I found this book life changing when I first read it in junior high. Lyrical, brutal, and surprisingly funny, this book paints an honest picture of depression and trauma in adolescence.

#4) In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado - A lyrical, dreamy exploration of an abusive relationship. I love how this memoir pushes the limits of its own medium as it also tries to establish a canon for abusive queer relationships. Machado's imagery is insane, and I devour it every time.

#3) The Catcher In the Rye by J.D. Salinger - My last and most surprising read of the year. I did not expect to love this novel as much as I do. I will never forgive the world for insisting that Holden Caulfield is an archetypal male manipulator when he's a traumatized kid (albeit a bratty one) who desperately wants to be feel happy.

#2) Children of Ash and Elm: A History of the Vikings by Neil Price - An incredible, comprehensive look on the history, culture, and legacy of the vikings. Price parses through popular fiction to bring humanity back to a historical group of people every subculture wants to claim as their own, for better and for worse. This book broke a damn in my head that was preventing me from doing world building for a piece of original fiction I want to write.

#1) The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas - I have been haunted by this book since I was a little kid, promising myself that I would one day gather the courage to read this behemoth of a story. As long as it is, every word was worth it. It was both parts entertaining and stimulating, and I ended by the book knowing why so many people call this the best book ever written.

It's Six Sentence Sunday and once again just the one for you this week - it would've been two, except I had a rush of inspiration for the Hawk story and finished and uploaded. But I've also been working more on the 'Tory is a Barnes' AU, so here's an extract from it - where Elaine reflects on what she knows about her dad's past.

Dad had never really talked much about his side of the family.

He’d never gone into any detail about why – except that karate was at the heart of it and that he thought little of his parents for insisting their children go for glory over everything else – but he had told them that he had had three brothers, two older and one younger: Evan, Brendan, and Aaron Barnes. He’d been estranged from them for many years, and though these days he had sparse contact with the first two, he’d completely lost contact with Aaron, and neither she, Sarah, nor Alex had ever met their uncles.

They’d never pried into it – if Dad didn’t want to talk about it, they weren’t going to push it, and it wasn’t like it was a great loss to them. They had relatives on Mom’s side who were always happy to see them, and that was enough.

Elaine suspected, though, that it affected Dad more than he let on – and around ten years ago he’d showed them a photograph of him and his siblings when they were children, all beaming and happy.

It had made her sad – the thought of ever losing contact with Sarah or Alex for good made her heart hurt, and even with Dad’s complicated feelings he clearly still missed them, and had remarked more than once on a family album somewhere around the place…

Said somewhere, it turned out, was right in the dustiest corner of the attic.

Chapter: Two of Two

AN: Hey guys so this chapter also has a little bit of angst and psychopath kids, so you’ve been warned before reading.

Summary: Alex and Amber continue to work together and finally talk things out.

I sit in the Chief’s office next to Alex as we explain to the parents our concerns over Missy after running it by Bailey. She was disbelieving at first but after we told her what Missy was like when we talked to her including her fascination with Gia’s death and my attack. After convincing her we opted to talk to the parents in private while a security guard kept a close eye on Missy at the waiting room. She wanted us to talk to the parents before calling the police. Now the mom is sitting wiping her tears with a tissue and the dad is as cold as ever.

I stayed silent as Alex started to explain the situation to the parents, “I would never want to do anything to make this worse or more complicated but Missy…she’s showing some signs that is raising our concerns. Risk taking, fascination with death, and taboo behavior that are typically associated with juvenile sociopathy.”

I clear my throat and decide he shouldn’t be the one to tell them the worst. I started this and I should be the one to bear the weight, “We um had a conversation with her and the way she acts and the way she talks…we think Missy was involved in Gia’s stabbing.” The mom is taken back and the dad doesn’t move at all like he knew it was a possibility. My heart breaks for them both, their child is on life support possibly because of their other child I would be numb too.

“That…that’s crazy.” Sylvia laughs it off and turns to Matt, “Tell her she’s wrong.” Matt just sits there numb and staring blankly at the wall destroyed. Sylvia tries again, “Matt?” Sylvia gasps, “Say something damn it!”

Matt finally turns to her and asks in a broken voice, “Sylvia, how can you be this blind? She was there just like she was there when the dog went missing and she was there when we found rat pellets in the thanksgiving turkey.” I look away as my emotions start to get the better of me and take a deep breath to calm down as the couple argue. Alex notices and holds my hand and I hold it back because this all of this…is just like the night my brother attacked me. The parents don’t notice us though thankfully.

“No your-your just upset.” Sylvia says in tears.

“Missy may have killed our child.”

“Missy is our child.” Sylvia says with a hiss.

I can’t be in here any longer and I get up from my chair, let go of Alex’s hand and walk out of the door calmly. It’s midnight so the hallway is pretty much empty. I try to make it to the bathroom but my stomach doesn’t let me and in a panic I open the red biohazard trash can and vomit my lunch inside. I don’t even realize someone is rubbing my back in comfort until I finally dry heave and wipe my mouth. I look and see that it was Glasses who rubbed my back and the idea that he saw me throw up makes me want to hurl again. But since I got my lunch and breakfast out of me I opt to pull away from him and go to the locker room to brush my teeth. He follows me.

“Are you okay?” Levi asks.

I hold my head up high so I don’t show weakness, “I’m fine tell anyone what you saw and I will perform a rectal exam on you without a lubricant.” He looks at me scared and backs off when we enter the lockers.

After I brushed my teeth I headed back to the Chief’s office and ran into Alex on the way. He looked wrecked and honestly who could blame him after what just happened.

“I-I’m sorry I didn’t stay it’s just I was-”

Alex shakes his head, “Don’t worry about it I get it this…this is triggering. A sibling tried to kill another sibling how can it not be?”

I groan at the comparison, “Yeah well, the only difference is Aaron was hallucinating and Missy was just having fun if she can feel that. It makes me sick.”

Alex rubs the back of his neck, “Yeah me too…are you okay?”

I sigh and rub my forehead as I feel a splitting headache, “I feel like taking a whole bottle of ibuprofen just to get away from this headspace.” Alex raises an eyebrow at my suicidal comment, “Don’t report me I’m being dramatic. How are the parents?”

“Mom stormed off and dad went back to Gia’s room, he’s trying to hold it in but this is wrecking him.” Alex rubs his tired eyes.

“And Missy? What are we gonna do about her? Have you called the cops?”

Alex looks back at me, “Yeah, we did but without a clear confession they can’t make an arrest. They suggested a wire and I offered to talk to her again and get her to say she stabbed Gia.”

“I’ll do it.” I suggest this crazy thing because I want to see this girl pay for what she did to her sister but Alex immediately shakes his head.

“No that is not a good idea. She’s dangerous and she already killed someone, I’m not letting you take that risk.”

“Alex I would be talking to her in the middle of the hospital full of security guards, doctor and nurses.” Those facts make me comfortable to do this, “And it’s not like she’s carrying and I took boxing for two years I can handle myself. The cops need a confession and I’m most likely to get it. I’m a girl, I’m around her age and she’s comfortable around me due to me satiating her psychopath side with the story of how I was attacked.” Alex sighs and still looks uncertain, “She could do this again and she might not come to the hospital next time where doctors will question her. I want to do this and I don’t need your permission.”

Alex looks at me worriedly and finally complies, “Fine but be careful.” I nod and we head back to the Chief’s office.

After the cops gave me instructions and placed the wire under my scrub along my diaphragm, I head out to find Missy. I walk around the hospital for a few minutes until I find her in the family waiting room sitting there on the table looking at her phone. I inhale and exhale because the sight of her knowing what she did makes me anxious but I told Alex I could do this and I will. I approach her and sit in front of her.

“Hey Missy.” I keep my tone calm and even as per my instructions and she looks at me surprised to see me, “I’m Dr. Karev I don’t know if you-”

“Right you’re the girl who got strangled and attacked I remember you.” She says it coldly and I continue.

“Yeah well I wanted to come by and talk to you and see how you were doing after Gia. I know when one of my brothers got hurt I would always worry about them.”

Missy shakes her head nonchalantly, “Gia was just a little baby she was always crying and begging me to play with her. She would always barge into my room and annoy me.” The way she chastises her sister is the first emotion she displayed and it’s anger.

“Yeah I had a little cousin who did that.” I lie to relate to Missy like the cops suggested and groan to play along, “It would drive me crazy.”

Missy nods, “I’m not gonna miss that.” That one sentence sends chills down my spine but I persist as I’m getting somewhere and decide to kick into high gear.

Remember when we were talking about the man who attacked me? and you said he probably did it to feel more powerful? Well it turns out you were wrong.” Missy looks at me offended, “The guy was my brother and he didn’t want to hurt me, he loved me, he took care of me and…he was just crazy and he lashed out. I don’t think he was thinking about what was gonna happen after to him or me but I don’t think he really wanted to kill me just for the fun of it.” Missy looks at me like I’m the one who’s crazy.

“Well maybe he did I mean you don’t know what he was thinking.”

I shrug, “I mean come on Missy why else would you kill someone?” I ask as genuine as I can to draw her in.

“To know if you could really do it.”

I shake my head at her terrifying comment, “No I don’t think so, I mean to actually feel the life slip away from someone else it’s…it’s way too scary for most sane people and for my brother it was-”

“No I know what he was feeling I mean I know exactly how he was feeling.” Missy says with a grin that is chilling before leaning in and whispering to me, “I was the one who stabbed Gia.” I look at her with a blank face even though my terror escalates as my fears come true, “And it wasn’t that scary. I knew what I wanted to do and I did it just like with your brother he must have felt like it was the coolest thing ever when he was trying to kill you.”

I shake my head in disgust and stand up and walk out the door as I see the cops entering and arresting Missy. I pass Alex on the way who looks at me in worry and I shake my head at him before saying bitterly, “Dysfunctional families am I right?” With that I walk to the lockers to take a hot scolding shower and leave this damn day behind me.

After my Silkwood shower, I put my clothes on and am just about to put my shoes on when Alex walks in looking as exhausted as me. I am so tired I’m not even mad at him, I’m just numb and I know that tomorrow when I see him again I’ll be mad again. It’s a vicious cycle and I have to escape before my psychosis causes me to lash out at him like Missy did to Gia. I know I don’t have sociopathic tendencies but the way I feel around him is degrading to me and the career I have worked hard to get. I need to get out before it’s too late.

Alex stands there looking at Amber with the same level of tiredness and numbness that she feels only he feels slightly worse because of what he needs to do. He needs to apologize and get their issues out of the way for both of their sakes. He starts by clearing his throat.

“Are you okay?”

Amber packs her stuff in her backpack not looking at him, “Sure a night of arresting a teenage psycho is just what I needed before collapsing on my bed.” Alex nods sharing her pain and her next words catch him off guard, “I’m gonna look for another program tomorrow. This thing.��� Amber motions to both of them, “It’s gonna end bad and I need to get out and find something that won’t remind me of the worst time of my life every five seconds or undermine me because of my past.”

Alex looks down in shame over accusing Amber of being paranoid due to their mom and starts his apology train, “I’m sorry Amber and not just for today for all of it. I’m just sorry and I wish I could do thing differently.”

Amber shakes her head and closes her locker, “Don’t Alex don’t even bother the damage is done.”

“I never meant to hurt you.” Alex says it with sincerity and pain.

Amber looks at him with a blank face, “I’m sure you didn’t. I’m sure you didn’t even think about me. You saw a way out and you took it just like me only difference is I didn’t leave anyone behind with no defenses. Hell even Uncle Lucas gave a more of a damn than you and he hates us. But whatever reasons he had I’m sure they were better than yours for leaving.” Amber sits on the bench to put her boots on.

Alex’s shame gets deeper before he confesses an 8 year long secret, “I told him to.”

Amber looks up and raises an eyebrow, “Told who to do what?”

“I told Uncle Lucas to take you in and let you recover at his place until you graduated.” Amber pauses her laces clearly effected by his words as he continues, “CPS was gonna send you into foster care, Aaron was at the hospital and mom wasn’t a good choice so I made him an option. I gave him 8 grand to take you in and I told him I would pay him another 8 after you graduated. The bastard almost skimmed me but I told him I would report him for drug use after I found a stash of meth at his place.”

“Great place to dump your baby sister after she had her jaw reconstructed.” She says sarcastically.

“Well it was either him or do the foster lottery and you land in some rundown home with five other kids who will rip out your wires. And I made sure he was checked on. I called a cop buddy of mine and made him spy on you and him at the house and make sure he was treating you right or at least ignoring you.”

Amber ties my laces, “He did, he ignored me and I avoided him so I was glad to have one less thing for me to deal with. But just because you forced our inattentive Uncle to take me in doesn’t mean I forgive you. I appreciate what you did but you didn’t do much when you were around. The only reason I know you were there was because the doctors told me after I woke up that you held my hand for 10 minutes and then left. I tried to call you but you wouldn’t answer and maybe this whole me getting a job here was a subconscious decision to confront you and figure out why you left and that’s on me.”

Alex shakes his head, “No it’s on me. I started this by leaving and I know that wasn’t fair to you.”

Amber puts her other shoe on, “Your damn right it wasn’t.” Amber says with a vicious tone as she ties her laces.

Alex sighs and continues, “I know you hate me and you have a good reason to. I left you with a schizo mom who barely kept up with her meds and a brother I didn’t was gonna inherit the crazy gene. When I got a job here, I saw it as my ticket out of Iowa but I also saw it as my ticket out of our family. I told myself that Aaron was enough for you, that you were fine with just one brother, I sent the checks to help out because it made me feel better for abandoning you. I told myself that I wasn’t your father, that you were better off without me but you weren’t, it was clear to me that night when you needed me the most.” Amber stops what she’s doing as Alex brings that moment up and he sees it safe to sit next to her, “I held you hand for ten minutes; you were only 16, you should’ve been having sleepovers and shopping for a prom dress not being in a hospital after your brother almost killed you. I held your hand for ten minutes and then I left, Aaron was committed and so was our mom, you needed me and I wasn’t there. I told myself that I couldn’t take care of you that you were better off without me, that Uncle Lucas could do what I couldn’t. I…I wasn’t there I was the ass that can’t stand to be there and I’m older now and I know better now.” Amber is quiet as she feels a single tear down her cheek and wipes it away, “I should’ve done more for you and I’m sorry. I’m sorry for not being your brother when you needed me, I don’t know if it’s worth anything. But I just needed you to know how sorry I am.”

Alex says that with his eyes wet as he’s letting his feelings of shame and regret show to Amber who looks at him for the first time in appreciation and as her brother. She sniffles before saying, “It’s worth a lot but…we have a lot of work to do here.”

Alex nods, “Yeah…dysfunctional families am I right?” Amber sighs and puts her head on Alex’s shoulder looking to him as a source of comfort instead of a source of pain. It’s not magically fixed between them but that night is a starting point.

"Excuse me.” A timid voice spoke. Margaret turned her head around and saw Amazing Rope Guy standing behind her. The man looked nervous but he also had a resolute and determined expression. “Aaron is it. Is there something I can help you with?” Margaret asked. Aaron nodded. “I was wondering if I can call the rest of the EVA and tell them what happened to Dr. Two Brains? Of course I will leave the secret spy stuff out of it. I just want to tell them that he got badly hurt by the people who kidnapped and tortured his daughter, dads, and cousin. That’s it.” Margaret had an uneasy expression. She understood the villain’s request, but she couldn’t risk anything spilling out for B.E.A.W labs to grab. Aaron seemed to understand her concerns. “Look I know you have to maintain secrecy with your organization, but there is something you need to know about Fair City villains. We are more than colleagues, we are a family, weird and messed up at times, but family nonetheless. I know those guys will go bonkers with worry if they happen to hear about Dr. Two Brains being in the hospital, but having no clue as to why or what is going to happen to him. Like I said I won’t tell any of the secret stuff. I just want to let them know that Two Brains got hurt badly by the B.E.A.W labs which they are already aware of, and that he is getting medical treatment for it immediately. Besides with what happened today, it looks like you guys need some extra help with what those jerks are throwing at you. No offense though. Not all of us villains are powerful like the heroes are, but we are pretty scrappy and feisty when we want to be and we know how to play dirty too.” Margaret pondered Amazing Rope Guy’s words for a few moments. “Okay you can contact them.” Margaret relented. “Only tell them that Dr. Two Brains has been injured but he is getting medical help. Don’t tell them where he is being treated. Reassure them enough so that they won’t try to find him. Also give them a heads up to be on the lookout for any suspicious characters and other things connected to B.E.A.W labs.” Margaret gave the villain a respectful but solemn smile. “You are right about one thing Aaron, we need all the help we can get now.” Tristan firmly but warmly embraced his crying child as he saw the ambulances taking away his husbands. Tristan remained a pillar of strength and comfort for his daughter, but on the inside, the Lexiconian felt like breaking down into pieces. He overheard Hugh’s words to Margaret. He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but he was worried over the condition of Two Brains. “Coma.” That word rang in his mind like a million arrows raining down. The thought, the mere thought that he and Alex could lose the first man they loved…he would rather face down Navren again then risk that. Tristan didn’t register the tears forming in his eyes until a hand gently grasped his shoulder. Tristan turned his head and saw Alan giving him a sympathetic and reassuring expression. With him was Bob who was holding the mice pups. “Please brother, hold your tears until you are free to cry in private.” Alan spoke. He knew Tristan breaking down would make Becky feel worse and more upset about what was happening. Tristan nodded with a smile. “Thank you.” He replied as he wiped the tears from his eyes. Tristan set Becky down on the ground near Bob. “Look starlight, your siblings are here.” Tristan cooed. Becky sniffed a bit before gently grabbing the mice pups. She pulled them close to her face and began to softly nuzzle them. The mice pups in return began to lick away the tears that covered their sister’s face. They didn’t know what was going on or what happened to their mother. Right now they knew their sister was upset which was something that could not happen. So they collectively decided to put away their own worries and focus on their elder sister for now. Bob joined them in comforting Becky by placing his arm gently around the girl.  @dualnaturedscientist

Questions plagued Carl's mind. Was Matthew going to be okay? Were they going to stop Atomic in time? What if they didn't? Was Atomic connected to the B.E.A.W Labs? "It'll be okay." Carl was brought out of his anxiety filled thoughts. Constance was looking at him with a sympathetic look. "It'll be alright Woody. Look. He's like a cockroach." Carl narrowed his eyes at her. She placed her hands up. "I'm not trying to insult him. This time. I'm just saying that he's like a cockroach because he's so damn hard to get rid of." She didn't like seeing him like this. Especially knowing exactly what he's been through. "He's so extremely difficult to get rid of. He's resilient. Though he did allow himself to be taken away. I don't think he'd be easy to get rid of. Besides. You shouldn't be underestimating that woman and your kids. They'll get to him in time. Have trust in them Woody." Carl sighed. "I suppose you're right but it's hard not to worry. He almost died once before. His life is at risk once again. I can't help it." Tears began to well up. Constance frowned at that. "Hey. It'll be alright. I promise. Besides, I don't think the kid would have it in him if they don't arrive in time." Carl was silent for a moment. "I can't help help. I'm scared Constance. Losing him. The thought tore my heart out. I know I shouldn't feel this way but I can't help it. I-" He was interrupted by her. "Hey now. It's okay. You don't need a reason to justify how you feel. You just feel the way you feel. That's all to it. " Carl was surprised at her words. Constance rolled her eyes. "You don't need to look so surprised. I can be wise and knowledgeable too." That earned a genuine laugh out of him. That was better. She didn't want to leave him in his anxiety ridden thoughts. Seeing him like that hurt. "If he does get roughed up. You can be his nurse. I'd be he'd love that. You tending to his wounds." Carl went tomato red. Sputtering her name. "Constance! You're terrible!" She cackled at his reaction. The ride to Dr.Two-Brains wad quiet. Until Maddrix spoke up, he didn't care that it was tense. He needed to speak his mind before they continued. "Atomic. I don't think he is behind anything with the B.E.A.W. Labs." Dr.Two-Brains looked at him. Raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean Matthew?" Margret wanted to make a wisecrack but remained silent. Looking at him as well. "He only went after me. If he was truly with them, he would've took Becky and I back. He would've killed you and the others. But he just wanted to go after me." Margret blinked. "Go on." Matthew was surprised they were willing to hear him out but he continued. "He didn't want to hurt anyone but me. Those who stood in the way. He may have forcefully put them out of the way but his intent with them wasn't malicious. It was personal he went after me. I don't think he knows much about the ray he had." Margret was about to put in her opinion and thoughts about it but they had already arrived at Dr.Two-Brains house. Alex landed next to them. Matthew attempted to walk into the house but he didn't make it far so Alex had to carry him in. Becky was happy to see him. Chirping happily. "Hey Becky. I'm sorry about scaring you earlier." He apologized but she had pong forgiven the man. Only caring if he was okay. Carl got up immediately and ran over to Matthew. Looking up at him with tear filled eyes. Without much thought, Carl placed his hands to Matthew's face and pulled him down into a deep kiss. Allowing it to linger for a moment before pulling away. Leaving Matthew breathless and flushed red. "Oh thank goodness! I was so scared! Don't you ever scare me like that again! I thought you were...I thought you were..."

Noticing how distressed Carl was acting, Matthew snapped into focus and cupped Carl's face. He gently brushed away the man's tears. "I know love. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that." Matthew spoke in a gentle tone, interrupting Carl's ramblings. Carl just sighed and stared back at Matthew with intense eyes. "I know you believe you deserve death and suffering after what happened all those years ago," Carl began to speak as tears filled his eyes. "But please! Please don't ever sacrificed your life like that ever again! Don't let yourself be taken or defeated so easily like that ever again! Seeing you dragged away without a fight..it was terrifying and painful to see you give up so easily like that. You may not believe it anymore, but you aren't capable of never being loved again. The thought of losing you again brought me more pain and suffering than what you did nearly 20 years ago. You are not a monster Matthew! Monsters don't feel regret, they don't apologize or feel remorse for their actions. You did that." Matthew stared silently at Carl. Neither man said nothing as they gently placed their foreheads against each other. Tears streaming from both of their eyes now. "I'm...sorry. I'm so sorry. Carl I..." Matthew tried to speak through his tears. "I know. I know." Carl only replied. Matthew didn't have to say anything. He knew what he was thinking. The others remained silent as they watched. None of them really saying anything and giving these two a moment, but also none of them having any negative reactions towards Matthew. Alex looked towards Victor and Two Brains. Both of them were having solemn but also bittersweet reactions. Alex wasn't sure what Victor was thinking, but he highly suspected what Two Brains was. Alex always figured, deep down, Two Brains could never fully hate his father. Whenever he was mentioned before, Two Brains would always have a solemn look, but never a hateful one. Alex figured Two Brains still loved the father that raised and cared for him and his siblings so well, he just hated the killer the man had become. Alex didn't hold it against him. He knew that if his parents and Rebecca were still alive, they wouldn't hold it against him either. Everyone was soon startled by Becky suddenly growling even as Tristan held her. They turned around and saw Atomic was beginning to wake up from the back of Victor's car. Carl, Tristan, Constance, the Chaotic four, Joe, Alan, Agent AA, and the Henchmen begin to tense up. Some of them were looking ready for an attack. Dr. Two Brains raised up his hands to halt them. "Hang on a second everyone. Atomic may be conscious but trust me. He doesn't have access to his powers right now." Dr. Two Brains tried reassuring them. Victor then spoke up. "He's right. Two Brains took his powers. He is out of the game but only temporarily." Atomic began to become lucid and tried to get out of the car. "How did you do that?" Jenkins asked as he still took on a defensive stance. Dr. Two Brains shrugged. "I went Professor Terror on him and shot him with a device from my staff that not only inhibited his powers, but also knocked him out pretty good. I originally designed the device in case Miss Power ever came back but I figured this was still a good time to use it." Two Brains casually explained. As Atomic got to his feet and his mind became more clear, his eyes soon landed on the group. His expression instantly morphed from puzzlement to fury when he spotted Maddrix standing near them still alive. "YOU ARE DEAD MADDRIX!" Atomic yelled before jumping into the air...and later falling back down flat on his face. It was a comedic sight. "Hey Matthew is stubbornness reacting out of emotion an inherited trait from your side of the family?" Two Brains asked in a sarcastic tone as he stared at the fallen Atomic with an annoyed deadpan expression. Matthew shrugged. "Um' shouldn't we still tie him up even though he doesn't have any powers?" Sunshine suggested. "I got this. Fluffy please wrap up the crazy hero." Archie requested his pet spider. @dualnaturedscientist

listen their junior and senior years are such a rough time because Spencer doesn't have either of the twins and the other kids are like "we're not prepared for this much responsibility."

JJ checked her watch. “Okay, so all we have to do is get through the history midterm and then we’re done,” she said. “It starts in twenty minutes so we might as well start walking now.”

“And then after the test we have about an hour until-“ Penelope started to say. JJ elbowed her sharply in the ribs. They were supposed to keep it a surprise that James, Alex, and Aaron were flying home for the St. Thaddeus spring break to visit. As far as Spencer knew, the three of them couldn’t miss any classes and couldn’t make it. 

“An hour until lunch,” JJ said hastily. She glanced over at Spencer. He walked behind them staring at the ground, his thumbs tucked into the straps of his backpack. Most likely he was running through their study guide in his head. 

The three of them walked across campus towards the lecture hall. It was a gloomy day, with patches of blue sky and sunlight scattered here and there, but the threat of rain hung heavy overhead. JJ checked her watch. They were doing fine on time, but the sooner they got the test over the better. It was hard to keep up the secret from Spencer that his siblings were coming to visit. He’d been so sad since they told him they couldn’t make it for his spring break. 

The lecture hall was crowded but quiet. JJ claimed her usual desk, but didn’t sit down until Spencer sat down next to her and Penelope took the seat on his other side. They were seniors now and nobody really tried to mess with them anymore, but old habits died hard and they weren’t about to take any chances. Especially since it was painfully obvious that Spencer didn’t belong in twelfth grade. He was thirteen now but his growth spurts had yet to kick in; he was still small and skinny for his age and his toes barely touched the ground when he sat at his desk.

JJ dropped her backpack on the floor and set out her pencil. She still wasn’t the best at staying organized, but she was capable when it counted. “Do you think there’s going to be an essay question?” she asked. 

“God, I hope so, those are my strong suit,” Penelope said. “I can’t remember any years, but I can bullshit an essay. But boy genius over here is my exact opposite.” She paused. “Right, boy genius?”

JJ frowned. Spencer slumped in his seat, his eyes glazed over. “Spence?” she said. “You okay?”

He sat up, rubbing his right eye. “Yeah, sorry, I’m fine,” he said. 

“You don’t seem fine,” JJ said. “Are you stressed out? It won’t be that bad, I promise.” 

“No, no, I’m okay,” he said. “Just…headache.”

“Headache or migraine?” Penelope asked. 

“Just headache,” he said, blinking hard. “I’ll be fine.”

He wasn’t fine. JJ could tell. She spent the duration of the test watching him out of the corner of her eye. All the color slowly drained from his face, leaving his lips gray and his eyes ringed in dark circles. He clutched his pencil in his hand until his knuckles turned white, but his fingers were shaking. When he completed his test he walked up to the teacher’s desk, his steps visibly unsteady, and when he dropped back to his seat he rested his forehead on his folded arms. Clearly his headache was more severe than he told them. 

As soon as they were dismissed JJ gathered up her bag and picked up Spencer’s purple backpack. “How’s your headache?” she asked as she slung it over her shoulder. He didn’t look up. “Spence?” She gave him a little shake. 

Spencer half raises his head. “Don’t so that,” he mumbled. “Hurts.”

JJ met Penelope’s wide eyed gaze over his head. “What hurts, kiddo?” she asked. “Just your head?”

Spencer pushed himself to sit up; the only color in his face was the red creased lines where his cheek had been pressed into his sleeve. “It’s just a headache, I just feel kind of sick,” he said, but he was slurring his words. 

Penelope slipped her hand under his arm and helped him up. “Are you going to puke?” she asked. 

He wavered on his feet, catching the back of his chair. “Maybe,” he mumbled. 

JJ took his other arm. At seventeen she was a full head taller than him, but carrying him was out of the question. “Let’s get you back to your room, okay?” she said. “What have you eaten today? It’s almost time for lunch, we can pick something up for you.”

Spencer coughed. “‘M not hungry,” he said. 

“I know you had coffee this morning, have you had water?“ Penelope pressed. 

He didn’t answer. JJ supported his weight as they walked out of the lecture hall and mentally ran through what she was going to do next. They had to get him back to his dorm, that was the most important thing. Getting him to lie down was the biggest part of the battle. The next step would be to force him to take painkillers and drink something. That was going to be a nightmare, but she chose not to think about it. Focus on getting him back first. 

It was painfully slow going. He kept his eyes covered against the sun, staring at the ground instead, and his steps were wobbly and unsteady. JJ kept a tight grip on his arm.

The migraines had started during his sophomore year and were only getting worse and more frequent. There didn’t seem to be any specific cause- stress, most likely- and nothing seemed to prevent them either. He would simply be fine one minute, and then dizzy and nauseated the next. 

Penelope unlocked the front door to Lincoln House and JJ helped Spencer inside. “What wouldn’t I give for an elevator right now,” Penelope sighed. 

“It could be worse, at least they moved him from the seventh floor to the third after Derek graduated,” JJ sighed. Penelope took her bag and Spencer’s off her shoulders so she could focus on hauling him up the stairs. 

“Where’s your keys?” JJ asked, keeping her arm around Spencer’s waist. 

“Don’t worry about it,” Penelope said as she popped a clip out of her hair. “I got it.”

“I should be worried that you learned to pick locks, but honestly I’m more impressed,” JJ said. 

“Alex taught me this,” Penelope said. “Aha! There we go.”

JJ dragged Spencer into his room and without thinking turned on the lights. He groaned and doubled over, pressing his hands over his eyes. “Sorry, sorry, I’m sorry, Spence,” she said, hastily switching them back off. “Let’s get you to bed, okay?”

Spencer sank down on his bed and tried to kick his shoes off. “JJ, my head really hurts,” he slurred. “Like it’s gonna explode.”

He fumbled with the buttons on his uniform shirt; JJ gently swatted his hands away and unbuttoned them for him. “We’ll get you comfortable and then you can lie down, okay?” she said. “We’ll get you medicine too.”

Spencer knuckled his eyes like a sleepy child. “Took ibuprofen,” he said petulantly. “Didn’t help.”

“I know, honey,” JJ said. “We’ll get your prescription stuff. I know you don’t like taking it, but it’ll help.” She touched the back of her hand to his forehead. “You’re not running a fever at least. Are you cold or hot?” He didn’t answer her and she squeezed his shoulder lightly. “Are you feeling cold or hot, Spencer?” 

He curved his hand into a C shape, touched his fingertips against his chin, and gestured like he was throwing something away. JJ bit back a sigh. “You’re feeling hot, okay,” she said out loud. “We can fix that.”

Usually he only signed with Alex and Aaron; she’d learned enough to understand the basics. And she’d learned that if he was signing, he really wasn’t feeling well. 

She helped Spencer out of his uniform, getting him down to his boxer briefs, and grabbed a tee shirt out of his drawers. It was one of Aaron’s old ones, soft and well washed, and it fit loose on Spencer’s slight frame. JJ eased it over his head and his arms, trying not to jostle him too much, and helped him sit down on the edge of the bed.

“Okay, angel, I know you hate it, but you have to use it,” Penelope said in a soft voice as she held out his nasal spray. “You’ll feel better if you use your migraine medication.” Spencer made a face, but took it in a shaking hand. 

JJ sat beside him, her hand on his knee. “Do you need any help?” she asked. 

Spencer started to shake his head and then grimaced in pain. “Mm-hm,” he said instead, and he managed to use the nasal spray himself as she watched him. JJ took the bottle back before he could drop it and snapped the cap back into place.

“Okay, bug, lie down,” JJ said. Spencer signed again as she pulled back the covers and draped just the sheet over him. “You want your blanket? Okay, give me a second, where’d you put it?” She found it half hidden under his pillow and tucked it into his chest as he curled into a tight ball on his side. “There you go.”

Penelope leaned around her and draped a cool damp washcloth over his eyes. “Hopefully that’ll help,” she said. She beckoned to JJ and pulled her aside. “I called Alex.”

“And?”

“They’re off the plane but traffic is really bad,” Penelope whispered. “She said not to tell him she’s coming because she doesn’t want him to get his hopes up and then get delayed.”

JJ raked her long blonde hair away from her forehead. “Okay,” she said. “We’ll take care of him in the meantime. He’ll be all right.”

Penelope nodded. “I’ll get him Gatorade,” she said. 

JJ closed the blinds and sat down at Spencer’s desk. There wasn’t much they could do to help with his migraines except give him medicine, make him rest, and wait it out. At least he had a private room for his senior year and they didn’t have to worry about a roommate bothering them. 

She scrolled on her phone, glancing up every so often to make sure he wasn’t in distress, and Penelope flitted in and out of the room as she ran errands. Spencer stayed still, his eyes covered and his blanket clutched to his chest. JJ watched him carefully, and when she heard him start to cough she pulled him to sit up and forced a trash can under him in just enough time for him to throw up. 

“I know, bug, I know it sucks,” she said as she squeezed his arm. “You’ll feel better though, I promise.”

Spencer leaned back, his eyes watering, and signed Alex’s name sign. JJ smoothed his hair back. “I know you want Alex, but she’s not here,” she said gently. She wanted so badly to tell him that she was on his way, but she knew it would upset him more to know Alex was close but wasn’t quite there. “Lie down and go to sleep, okay?” 

Spencer signed Alex’s name again, his lower lip trembling, but he allowed JJ to help him lie down and tuck him back in. She kept her hand on his shoulder until she felt his breathing start to slow down and deepen. 

“Poor baby,” Penelope said softly. “I hate this so much.”

JJ trailed her fingertips lightly down Spencer’s arm. “Hopefully the meds will kick in soon,” she said. 

She curled one leg against her chest and sat on the edge of Spencer’s bed. It stressed her out more than she wanted to admit, but if he was sleeping that was a good sign at least. 

Someone touched her shoulder lightly and she jumped. “Hi, sorry, it’s just me,” Alex whispered. 

JJ’s shoulders sagged. “Oh, thank god,” she said. “He stopped talking and he threw up a little while ago, but he dozed off.”

She scrambled out of Alex’s way. “That’s good,” Alex said. “That’s really good. You did great. Thank you for taking care of him.”

“Yeah, always,” JJ said. 

Alex bent over Spencer and kissed his forehead. He scrunched up his face and whined a little bit, but he cracked open one eye to squint at her. His mouth dropped open and he signed her name, bewildered.

“Hi, baby,” Alex said softly. “Surprise.” Spencer’s face crumpled. “Oh! Oh, honey, don’t cry, it’s okay.”

He forced himself to sit up and fell towards her. JJ held out a hand to balance him as Alex gathered him onto her lap. “Aaron and James are downstairs too,” she said. “We’re here for the whole week, all three of us. We’ll take you home to the Blakes’ house. Are you surprised?”

He nodded, his face half hidden in her shoulder, and Alex kissed his cheek. “I have his bag all packed,” Penelope said as she set the duffle down on the bed. “Do you need a hand?”

“We can probably take it from here,” Alex said. “But I’m so glad you two were to take care of him.”

JJ smiled. “Any time,” she said.

canon details this wc would know about lux: she's been on magnetic for four years now after leaving their family home in brisbane. this sibling is the oldest child with lux being the youngest and noah being the middle. the family dynamic is complicated with their distant father and unstable mother. noah went missing after he left to go to university in america when lux was sixteen and things in the family really fell apart after that. she prefers to not keep in contact with any of them now and ran off to magnetic without much of a warning. how this all has affected the other sibling is entirely up to you!

hc’s for this wc: lux and noah grew up to be very close, making his disappearance harder on her. she was also a generally a difficult child especially in her teenage years. after spending all of that time pushing people away they probably aren't close and most likely never were. depending on how things go i'm open to there being tension, awkwardness, or even animosity between them. i'm here for all of the drama.
