Another dating story from the archives: this was probably circa 2017 - I had downloaded pof and dating apps to give it a whirl and meet some guys and go on dates. I started chatting with a cute guy named Saro. He was nice, had a good job and seemed to have his shit together. The only main issue was he had no “normal” time in his day for a date. He would play basketball frequently after work and wouldn’t be free til 11pm each night which was annoying. There’s nothing really open weeknights at 11pm for a dinner or even movie date realistically. He suggested after I finally agreed to meet him at this late night time for a “date” that we go for a drive. He picked me up and seemed alright, we chatted and he drove around and decided to take me down the Bridle Path - to see the house Drake was renovating/ working on at the time. Cool, to each their own but it wasn’t really a great date or even hang out to me. Afterwards we went to Sunnybrook Park maybe around midnight? Really it’s not open. He decided we would park in the parking lot and listen to music. He had probably the most embarrassing adult male collection of songs ever including the Backstreet Boys, Nsync and other boy bands…. I scrolled through his list on his phone as well and I could find only one or two songs that I liked that weren’t girly pop music. I totally made fun of him and told him that he should get some more rock music on his phone. He wasn’t really trying to make a first move at all and I was getting kind of bored of his music so I suggested a dare - told him I didn’t think he could lay his whole body on top of mine on the passengers side of the car (trying to get him to grow some balls and kiss me or something?!) which worked at least. He was an okay kisser and he suggested for comfort we move our kissing to the backseat of his SUV. I agreed and we started to move to second and third base. He hops out of the car. Strips down to buck naked and to my disappointment kind of looked like Buddha. I thought after all his basketball and sports things he would have been in better shape. I was in too deep now, so we ended up having sex for a short stint in his backseat. I was scared shitless when the patrol cars flashed their lights to “warn” us to leave the parking lot of the park, I thought they were coming over. I flew out of the car, got my pants back on and asked to be drove home. He was nonchalant and didn’t seem to mind the warning and he wanted to continue. (He hasn’t finished at this point) I said no no let’s go. He drove me back towards my place and pulled into a school yard parking lot and said it’s time to finish what we started. By this time it’s like 2am and I work the next day… I said no and that I was too tired. He was quite irritated by this but was a gentleman and drove me home. I never messaged him again…. Kind of felt bad about him not enjoying himself but really the night wasn’t a stellar date and he made little to no effort to make it fun or something more than driving around and sex. Oh well, lesson learned!!

I dont know why this is so great to me, but when I woke up this morning and looked to the side of the bed, i saw this little dude just sitting there like this. No set up, no manipulation, and must have fell off the upper ledge of the table it was on. It was very cute, and sad in some way the way it was just sitting there. My mind went wild with ideas of this little lamby being alive but only when we were asleep. I pictured all kinds of journeys and escapades it must go on every night. I also thought that this particular time I might have almost caught it in motion, and right as I looked over it just kind of plopped down as ragdoll as it could manage in hopes of keeping his nocturnal life a secret. I also then thought that this little bigger might be the culprit that keeps stealing my socks so I never have a matching pair....ever! Then I just felt lucky and appreciative that I got to see such a beautiful moment. YES, my amigination is feral and wild....and I love it that way. After that, finding out that there is an actual Wal-Mart in Portland, we could not be faster in reaching our cars, just with a little detour to the record store Rina was talking about for the last days, since we passed by and did not find it anymore on the way back. At least not that easily. So finally, we had to look inside, just for God’s sakes of course. The first Wal-Mart we put on the car’s maps did not show an actual existing one, that we found out when we were in front and therefore disappointed. Driving more and more outside the city center, just made us more doubtful, but the second address really led us to an existing Wal-Mart – the first I have seen in real in my life. Oh, how I love first times! We did not spend much time there, Rina trying to find a new phone she can use for texting and phoning and me looking through the bakery. There was no good bread or even cake, so I gave up, bought some greek yogurt drink instead – something that was new for me. We did the self check-out, and got stopped at the exit from the security guard. OH NO! I hope we are not in trouble! Since it was beeping when exiting the market, we had to stop and been examined. Fortunately, I kept the receipt, but they only wanted to see the one from the electronic goods, since obviously there were some problems with that. However, the guy was trying to do his job the best way, and his manager watching him, so stopped us even twice in the end. It was a strange feeling, not knowing what we will face in the end. But all good. We survived! J Happy about that! :D
