Hello, anon!! I am!

While Ozai is down in prison, the world above him continues to advance and grow. It takes time, but eventually some for of gun is invented. It's viewed as a pretty similar weapon to the kind that most nonbenders use, but now sort of seen as an upgraded version of an arrow since you can fire from far away and don't have to take one shot then get another arrow (or bullet in this case). People are cautious about it being created but this is also a world that has bending and just finished a war, making sure the newest weapon for nonbenders doesn't grow too powerful is not exactly high on the list of priorities. Even the Gaang doesn't really view this as much beyond the Fire Nation wanting to make a new weapon that they can sell.

Ozai is about 65 or so when he finally breaks out of prison and heads off into the world. He was locked up for around 20 years or so, meaning that the Gaang is now all in their 30s and Zuko's rule has long since been established. True, they don't love the idea of him being out and about but they also have much bigger concerns at the moment (like a new villain voiced by Dave Bautista). Zuko sends soldiers after Ozai to get him back but the Ozai loyalists aren't around anymore and he's honestly not a big threat to the Gaang as a nonbender with no allies or support system. Ozai, in need of some kind of resources, goes to a weapon's store. (Store owner: Hello, sir. Did you need help today? Ozai: No. I'm just looking for something. Owner: Anything in particular? Are you a bender or nonbender? Ozai:....nonbender. Owner: Got you! We got swords, arrows, guns, throwing knives- Ozai: What was that last one? Owner: Ah. Yeah. These babies have been selling like mochi. It's kind of like an arrow, a long range attack weapon, but you don't constantly need to keep getting more arrows. Ozai, looking over the owner's display: Impressive. Owner: Yup. I can let it go for 200 gold pieces. Ozai:.....Owner:.....Ozai:.....No.) Ozai leaves with his new weapon and escapes from the Fire Nation with a plan.

Ozai makes his way down to the Earth Kingdom and, with his new weapon, is able to acquire a lot of resources and valuables for himself to survive. It's nothing like what he had at the palace but it's certainly better than the prison. One day, while he's relaxing in a cave and having some lunch he stole from town, he hears a group of bandits talking about robbing a supply line that's coming through there. Curiosity gets the better of the former Fire Lord and he decides to go there himself and see what all he can get. When the day comes, the groups is in the middle of robbing the train when Ozai jumps in and starts taking stuff too. (Robber: Who are you, old man!? What are you doing!? Ozai: Robbing this train. I thought that was obvious. Robber: Listen, we're robbing this train. So run back to your little town and stay there before I have to start cutting off fingers for stealing our score. Ozai: Or I could put a hole in your head. Robber, with his hands up: Woah. I- Ozai: Or, third option, we rob this train together and then split everything. Robber:....Anyone ever told you that you're annoying. Ozai: I've been called worse. *Later* Robber: I'm Li. This is Ling, Guo and Yuki. Ozai: I'm....Huo. Robber: Nice to meet you. Have you ever considered joining a little group?)

A couple years pass and Ozai remains a part of the robbers group, helping them rob different trains and eventually working their way up to robbing people on those trains as opposed to just supply ones. Ozai keeps his identity hidden from them for many years (2 or 3) until they're all talking and the 100 year war comes up. Ozai, who actually does feel a bit bad about hiding his identity from them for so long, tells them who he is. Of course, they're kind of freaked out that they've been working with the Fire Lord who wanted to burn down the Earth Kingdom and try to fight him for what he did. Ozai, without his bending, is still a threat (because of course Azulon would train him in hand to hand combat) and he fights them while not using his gun. Li eventually has him pinned and is about to kill him but can't bring himself to do so. The group decide to leave him there and make an off handed comment about how the only way they will accept him again is if he can rob the Fire Lord (Zuko)'s personal train and bring them back something. Initially, Ozai has no plans to do this. Sure, he misses them and did like being a part of the group but he also isn't exactly looking to get thrown in prison again so he doesn't consider it too much. But as time begins to pass, he really does start to miss his group and wants to be part of the team again. So, he creates a plan and a full proof way to steal from Zuko's train. However, when the day comes, he does manage to steal but is caught by soldiers and identified. News spreads quickly that former Fire Lord Ozai has been recaptured and may be executed because of his escape and how long he evaded capture. News even manages to get to a familiar group of robbers.

(Zuko: So, where were you all these years? Ozai: Charity work. I built a few houses here and there. Gave food to orphans. Zuko: Ha-Ha. You know the council wants you dead. Ozai: Let them kill me. Zuko: Seriously!? That's it! You're not going to try and fight at all!? Ozai: What would I be fighting for, Zuko? A chance to live out my remaining years in a cell? For my son, daughter and brother to periodically come down and yell at me? That's not exactly much of a life. Zuko: You- Ozai: I know what I did which is why I'm not fighting this. You can tell the council that they can kill me. I don't care anymore.). A few days later, Ozai is asleep in his cell, awaiting what he imagines is his execution when he hears the guards start to yell, like someone is beating them up. (Li: You coming, Fire Lord or what? Ozai: I thought- Yuki: Don't make us regret this *Throws Ozai his gun*. We're breaking so many laws busting you out. Ling: We break the law almost every day. Yuki: Yeah, but I feel like there's a difference between robbing a train and breaking a war criminal out of prison.) The group manages to escape and they flee from the prison. Zuko is, of course, told that his father has escaped but he doesn't put much effort into finding him again, even when Azula offers her services Zuko turns her down. From the brief conversation he had, it doesn't seem like Ozai really wants to take control again. (Azula: I hope you're right, Zuzu. Zuko: I really think I am and, if I'm not, you can hit him with lightning. Azula: Yes!)

However, the main setting where all the stabby stabby things happen would be in Colegio de Santa Mariana, a private catholic school on the outskirts of the municipality that has a much more prestigous branch in Manila.

I'm still working on the lore of my worldbuilding because while Asalorez is a fictional mix of my surroundings the political scenario plays a heavy role in it, especially in the school, and I, like so many people out there, have a love-hate relationships with politics rn. ================================================ There's definitely more important stuff that need to be added, a lot of things have to be taken into considerations, but so far bear witness to what two to threeish years of daydreaming gets you to.

Fans of Vin Diesel’s best-loved character Riddick have been waiting nine years for the promised sequel to 2004’s Chronicles of Riddick and its predecessor Pitch Black (to say nothing of the top-notch video game installments). We’ve perked up at any offhand mention of a new movie in interviews and taken heart in teasing messages posted by Diesel himself on his personal fanpage. Now, at last, Riddick is back in a new adventure that is more of a series reboot than a proper continuation of the intergalactic convict’s story.

Stripped down literally and figuratively, Vin Diesel and director David Twohy deliver one of the stranger examinations of machismo dressed in sci-fi trappings in recent memory. After waiting so long, so patiently, I had a lot of feelings watching Riddick. There’s some good, some disappointing, and some frankly really, really disturbing.

Spoilers after the cut.

“Don’t know how many times I’ve been crossed off the list and left for dead,” Riddick intones in the movie’s opening. This has been happening to him since his birth, when he was abandoned in a trashcan on his homeworld Furya. After unwittingly backing into the throne as Lord Marshal of the creepy supernatural army of Necromongers, the lone wolf found he didn’t like wearing a crown. Still searching for Furya, Riddick was duped into being dropped off on a new barren planet filled with hostile beasts with only his cunning to help him survive.

A brief flashback—with bonus R-rated naked babes—to Riddick’s crushing melancholy is all we get of his recent past. Riddick is, after all, a rebirth of the franchise. It’s not meant to move Riddick’s journey forward in much of a meaningful way and on that note, Riddick delivers on its promises. This is a self-contained side story.

On first watching, I thought the beginning half of Riddick was really oddly paced. Even a bit slow. It’s Jeremiah Riddick, as, totally alone and broken, Riddick dedicates himself to getting back to his primal roots among the ravenous space-hyenas and mud-dwelling space-scorpions. He fashions crude weapons, hardens himself against venom, and even briefly goes naked. He makes friends with nature, in the form of an adorable hyena pup that he raises and trains to be his sole ally.

But there can’t be a birth without blood and when desperation forces him to activate a beacon as a lure for bounty hunters and their much-needed spaceships, there’s blood and action aplenty. Riddick is the man that can kill you with a tea cup, after all.

Yet, I think I enjoyed solo Riddick more than Riddick playing another game of cat-and-mouse against two really ugly groups of mercenaries. One group is lead by creepy pervert Santana. The only standout among his crew is a pretty charismatic Dave Bautista. I’m told wrestlers are good with charisma. See: Duane “The Rock” Johnson. The other group is more organized and led by Boss Johns (screenwriter and author Matt Nable). If that surname rings a bell to a longtime Riddick fan, well, it’s no surprise there. His second-in-command is beloved badass female actress Katee Sackoff.

Katee Sackoff Riddick Dahl

It’s Sackoff’s character Dahl (pronounced like “Doll”) that really made me super uncomfortable. Women are barely featured in Riddick, unlike the decent assortment of females present in Pitch Black, who were tough and subversive and flawed. And Riddick treated them with the exact same amount of respect he gives any human. Which, granted, isn’t much at times, but still. It counts. And I’ve already addressed my issues with women in Necromonger society, but Dahl kind of made me wish for Dame Vaako’s return. It was that bad.

You see, Dahl says she “doesn’t fuck guys.” We don’t know if it’s a lie to keep scummy Santana from creeping on her, but let’s take it at face value. This is all we know about Dahl’s personal life beyond her sniping skills. So later on when Riddick is doing his trademark “This is how I will kill you” threats, he also mentions that afterwards, he’s going to go “balls deep” in Dahl. It was really fucking disgusting and not the Riddick I enjoyed previously. It immediately threw me out of the movie.

The only other times women were seen were, as stated earlier, writhing naked in Riddick’s Necromonger bedchambers and one escaped prisoner (presumably a rape victim) that Santana murdered for pretty much no reason in front of Riddick. Yeah, classic fridging.

But it gets worse for Sackoff, who deserves a million times better for her nuanced portrayal of Colonial frack-up Kara Thrace on Battlestar Galactica. She has a really gratuitous topless scene where Riddick spies on her. And he then tries to rattle her about it later in the crudest way possible: “Your nails are pink. Like your nipples.” WAT.

Finally, when all of the mostly interchangeable redshirt mercs are dead (and you pretty much know immediately who’s going to make it the moment they are introduced) we’re left with the implication that Dahl, who had no other conversations with Riddick beyond trying to kill him and who is gay, fucks Riddick. You know, because Riddick is so manly he can “cure” a lesbian.

It’s a big chunk of ugliness in what is otherwise a perfectly serviceable sci-fi thriller. The action scenes have a lot of style, the violence is really over-the-top as you’d expect from the franchise and there are some funny one-liners. I was disappointed Riddick’s flashbacks with Karl Urban (sans mullet! Nooooooooo!) were so brief, but I get it. This movie was funded on a much smaller scale than Chronicles. The FX that are here are solid and the planet has a lot of dark, creepy atmosphere, but it’s definitely not as baroque and beautiful as Chronicles. Matt Nable intrigues and I hope to see him in more roles soon. He imbued Boss Johns with a lot of world-weariness and heart.

But a good script is a lot harder than good CGI, apparently. Even though words cost a hell of a lot less to create. At least in theory. There’s no excuse for some of the terrible dialogue in here. Not even funny-bad, just plain bad-bad. Again, lots of that is centered around Katee Sackoff’s character, but not always. Riddick was never a poet, educated as he was in the penal system, but fans have come to expect a certain level of cleverness from him that just isn’t really to be found here.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Riddick the character should’ve stayed buried in development hell because there were glimmers of goodness and, if the movie does well enough, a continuation of Riddick’s story proper—i.e., a visit to Furya and the Underverse—seems likely. And I’d still want it.

But this Riddick made me think more of Pet Semetary than Pitch Black: “Sometimes dead is better.” Riddick came back wrong. As a huge Riddick and Vin Diesel fan who is also female, I’m incredibly disappointed that the movie I waited so long to see was so incredibly, blatantly, alienating. Riddick isn’t some meta-commentary on male superego. It’s not that smart. And it didn’t need to be super smart to be enjoyable. But if science fiction says more about the present state of a society than the future, what does that say about representations of women in genre? If Starbuck could be so humiliated, what hope is there for the rest of us?

When Kurt Hansen died, she and a small retinue of BARGHEST soldiers found issue with Bennett's leadership and left the organisation. For a time, they operated in the Badlands, 'draining the swamp' (read: flatlining Raffens) and stealing supplies from Militech convoys.

Then they met Dorian Bautista and his netrunner ally, Kaylee Andersen. Bautista told Tarryn about a malevolent scheme called Carpe Noctem, a scheme by Militech and Night Corp to covertly steal Night City and destroy what little freedom Night Citizens have left. All Dorian had to tell Tarryn was 'corpo plot' and she and her crew were aboard with his scheme to wage war with Night Corp.

Alone, they don't have much of a chance, however, Dorian and Kaylee have a secret weapon, an abandoned Militech project that will be as destructive to the powers that be as any nuclear warhead.

Crew:

James Gunn wrote the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and will also serve as a producer on the film. He will be joined by fellow producers Kevin Feige and Victoria Alonso, who have been instrumental in the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film will also feature the talents of cinematographer Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, and composer Tyler Bates, who have all worked on the previous Guardians of the Galaxy films.

In conclusion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is shaping up to be another thrilling and hilarious addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the return of James Gunn and the talented cast and crew, fans can expect an epic adventure through the cosmos.

El dia de hoy 18Abr2023 fallece el  Dr. Charles Stanley, él dedico su mayor parte de su vida a compartir y enseñar de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo. Asi que hoy fue a disfrutar el gran galardón por su fiel servicio a nuestro Salvador.

Se deleitava dando enseñanzas bíblicas y dando aplicabilidad a la vida diaria de lo escrito en los evangelios.

Charles F. Stanley fue pastor durante más de cincuenta años en la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Atlanta.

El Dr. Charles F. Stanley fue líder de In Touch Ministries y Ministerios En Contacto y muere a la edad de 90 años.

Stanley modeló 65 años de ministerio pastoral basado en el mensaje del apóstol Pablo en Hechos 20 verso 24: “Pero de ninguna cosa hago caso, ni estimo preciosa mi vida para mí mismo, con tal que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar testimonio del evangelio de la gracia de Dios”.

Nacido el 25 de septiembre de 1932, en plena época de la Gran Depresión, en Dry Fork, Virginia, Stanley fue criado por su madre quien enviudó cuando él solo tenía 9 meses de edad. fue hijo único de Charley y Rebecca Stanley.

Después de recibir el llamado al ministerio a la edad de 14 años, Stanley recibió una licenciatura en humanidades de la Universidad de Richmond en 1956, Virginia (Este mismo año, el 19 de agosto, fue ordenado al ministerio en la Iglesia Bautista Memorial Moffett en Danville, Virginia), y una licenciatura en divinidad del Seminario Teológico del sudoeste en Fort Worth, Texas. Luego prosiguió a recibir los títulos de maestría y doctorado en teología del Seminario Luther Rice en Atlanta.

Antes de integrarse al personal de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Atlanta, Stanley sirvió como pastor de la Iglesia Bautista Fruitland cerca de Hendersonville, Carolina del Norte (1957–1959) alli  también impartía cátedras de homilética, predicación y evangelismo en el Instituto Bíblico Fruitland. Luego pasó a ser pastor de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Fairborn, Ohio (1959–1962). Fue pastor de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Miami, Florida (1962–1968)  tambien fundó la Escuela Cristiana George Muller en 1966. Luego continuo como pastor de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Bartow, Florida (1968). Stanley pasó a ser pastor asociado de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Atlanta el 1 de octubre de 1969 y fue dos años después, el 1 de octubre de 1971, cuando Stanley asumió su prolongado cargo como pastor principal de la Primera Iglesia Bautista, donde sirvio hasta septiembre del 2020. En el año de 1972, incursionó en el ministerio de radiodifusión con un programa de 30 minutos: “The Chapel Hour”, (La hora de la capilla), el cual salió al aire en el área de Atlanta por los canales locales de televisión WXIA y WANX (ahora WGCL).

Dicho programa, cuyo nombre cambió a “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” (En Contacto con el Dr. Charles Stanley), pasó a tener cobertura nacional en 1978 después de que la Red de Radiodifusión Cristiana (Christian Broadcasting Network) contactara a Stanley, buscando un programa de enseñanza bíblica práctica para su nueva red de distribución satelital. La audiencia del programa en inglés aumentó de 16 mil espectadores locales a una audiencia nacional en tan solo una semana.

Esto llevó a la expansión y establecimiento del ministerio de Stanley como una entidad sin fines de lucro llamada In Touch Ministries (Ministerios En Contacto) en 1982, año en que nació el programa de radio. Durante la década de 1980, el programa penetró en casi todos los principales mercados de los Estados Unidos, con un alcance de más de un millón de hogares. Para el momento de su muerte, los mensajes de Stanley se escucharon en más de 127 idiomas alrededor del mundo vía radio, transmisión de onda corta, el proyecto del Equipo Mensajero, o programación de televisión.

Convencido, como decía a menudo, “obedezcamos a Dios y dejemos las consecuencias en sus manos”, Stanley enfocaba sus predicaciones en principios bíblicos y cristocéntricos, prácticos para la vida diaria. Muchos de sus mensajes incorporaban los 30 Principios de Vida que guiaron su vida y lo ayudaron a crecer en su conocimiento, servicio y amor a Dios. Otros mensajes abordaban tópicos tales como crianza de los hijos, finanzas, crisis personales, emociones y relaciones, la oración y el carácter de Dios. Sin haber buscado ser el foco de atención pública, Stanley era un pastor que además salía en televisión, dedicado a enseñar a otros cómo buscar y obedecer a Dios en medio de la adversidad y los problemas personales.

Notables organizaciones y editoriales honraron a Stanley a lo largo de su extenso ministerio. Stanley sirvió dos términos como presidente de la Convención Bautista del Sur en 1985 y 1986. En 1988, pasa a formar parte del Salón de la Fama de la National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) por la consecuente excelencia de su programación y liderazgo en el ámbito de televisión y radio cristianas. La organización Religious Heritage of America lo condecoró clérigo del año en 1989, un reconocimiento a pastores que se esfuerzan para hacer principios judeocristianos parte de la vida diaria en los Estados Unidos. En 1993, la NRB galardonó al programa con el premio Productor de televisión del año, y en 1999, con el premio Programa radial del año. Más recientemente, Stanley recibió un reconocimiento por haber vendido más de 10 millones de ejemplares de sus más de 70 libros, el último de los cuales se publicó en el 2023.

Salmo 67.2: “Para que sea conocido en la tierra tu camino, en todas las naciones tu salvación”.

El Dr. Stanley buscó y empleó tecnologías innovadoras para enviar el mensaje de Jesucristo a los confines de la Tierra. Al momento de su fallecimiento, el programa “In Touch” estaba siendo transmitido por el mundo entero en más de 4 mil emisoras y canales de televisión, radio y redes satelitales; y sus predicaciones se habían traducido a más de 127 idiomas, entre ellos español, el cual salió al aire por primera vez en 1994 con el nombre “En Contacto”. A lo largo de su vida y ministerio, el Dr. Stanley demostró un gran conocimiento de las necesidades de la gente y proveyó principios bíblicos y cristocéntricos para la vida diaria. Su motivación se representa mejor con la verdad que encontramos en Hechos 20.24 (NTV): “Pero mi vida no vale nada para mí a menos que la use para terminar la tarea que me asignó el Señor Jesús, la tarea de contarles a otros la Buena Noticia acerca de la maravillosa gracia de Dios”. El Dr. Stanley siempre entendió que no era por la fortaleza ni el talento propio que la gente encontraría esperanza y salvación, sino por medio de la obra de Cristo mediante vasijas dispuestas y obedientes. Dijo: “Son la Palabra de Dios y la obra de Dios las que cambian la vida de la gente”. Sin duda, el Señor obró de manera impactante mediante la vida obediente y de entrega del Dr. Charles Stanley.

Stanley también era conocido por su amor a la fotografía. Las imágenes de Stanley de sus viajes personales llenan las paredes de la sede de En Contacto en Atlanta e inspiran a la audiencia a explorar la belleza de la creación de Dios.

En septiembre del 2020, Stanley pasó a ser pastor emérito de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Atlanta, tras haber servido 50 años como pastor principal.

A Stanley le sobreviven su hijo Andy Stanley, fundador y pastor principal de North Point Ministries; su hija Becky Stanley Brodersen; seis nietos; dos bisnietos; y su hermanastra Susie Cox. Su ex esposa, Anna Johnson Stanley, le precedió en la muerte. 

La vida pasa rapido...muy rapido.

Y mucha gente que hoy esta en el cielo o en el infierno planeaban vivir mucho mas de lo que vivieron. No hicieron planes para morir. Solo tenian planes de vivir y disfrutar.

Entonces le pregunto: ¿Para que vive? ¿Cual es su meta en la vida? ¿Tiene algun proposito real para vivir?.

Dios dice que debemos vivir para adorar y servirlo. Porque esto sí es la vida a plenitud.
