saw someone on twt say they’re tired of JAW winning awards in the comedy category and it disrespects real comedic talent … raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by “is the bear a comedy” discourse?

love a mean girls reference lol but in all seriousness, to me, the bear is a comedy similar, but not identical, to the way shameless was considered a comedy. the easiest way to explain is basically what Joshua Jackson said when asked “is the bear a comedy?” at an awards show last year (I wanna say it was the Emmy’s , it’s on Reddit for sure).

i can understand wanting to call it a “dramedy” because there are serious situations that happen (grief, anxiety, depression, family trauma, etc) and there’s quite a bit of yelling between everyone but to ignore it being comedic is …. not it

there are little things said and done by everyone in almost every episode that’s funny. i think people expect to be laughing every few seconds or full on belly laughing as if they were watching standup or a sitcom (even then good sitcoms like Modern Family, Parks and Rec, etc have a lot of heart). but that’s not what the bear was ever meant to give.

like sorry but let’s not act like “everyday, Jeffrey ballet?” (Tina) or “duh! duh? duh! duh? don’t say duh! DUH!” (Nat & Carm) wasn’t funny. or “of the place? is that what you think mis en place means?” this shit is funny. you may not be cracking up with tears in your eyes but you can laugh. through all the chaos that happens at the bear, those characters are still regular people and people say funny shit that makes us laugh even in serious situations, dare i say especially, when things are serious. like very “laughter is the medicine”

Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy the fact that when Barry came back to life he was all "??I should just be dead??? I don't want to be here??? Let me go back?!?" and then Hal took him to the Flash Museum to cheer him up and was forcibly stopping Barry from leaving and Hal was just like "Barry! 😄 My best friend and buddy who is alive!! 😄😄 I love you and you aren't allowed to die again! 😄😄😄 If you leave my line of vision I will hurt people! 😄😄😄😄 You suicidal mother fucker I will chain you to a fucking wall!!!! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄"

Anyway I think that was great and I'm glad they dedicated an entire issue to it

I'm gonna try to do a couple of requests here and there when I'm no longer in fight or flight mode and have had a chance to relax from school and work

Lemme know what some of y'all want to see and I'll do my best. Be as specific as possible because I've discovered through this eng class that I can't be told to write about something and having no idea what the person (teacher) wants to see 💀

Also also also I only know invincible from the seasons that they have done, i have not read a single comic in my life. So if you mention a character thats from the comics its highly likely i will have no idea who you're talking about.

You can go crazy if you want with the requests, just be reasonable.

I'm not too sure on smut cuz i have absolutely 0 ZERO experience in that area, I'm also ace (although according to my friends im really aeroace), at most i can do suggestive or mild but not explicit stuff.

I'm really decent at crack type of fics

I can do fluff and just cuddle sessions i think

Angst im not exactly too sure of because if im not crying about it in my head then i don't think its good enough

Horror would be the most challenging for me because I don't know how to write the fear factors but i can be very detailed on emotions

And I can try to say they'll be short but honestly i don't even know the meaning of a short fic 😅

If you give enough details about what you want to see/happen that'll help so much

Don't mind me. I'm just going fucking feral over the brand new mystery speedster child.

The brand new mystery speedster child who very pointedly did not say his name (indicating it's a surprise reveal). The brand new mystery speedster child that was powerful enough to power an entire spaceship (indicating that he's a pretty powerful speedforce conduit). The brand new mystery speedster that didn't recognize Kid Flash and Impulse but did recognize Wally West.

(side note: I fucking love how Wally met a small speedster child and just went 'eh fuck secret identities. I don't even know your name yet but you're family now')

Anyway. Purple highlights on his clothes. Looks similar to Bart. This arc deals with Iris and Barry having kids vs not having kids. I kinda think this might be Don Allen if I'm being completely honest.

This also might be Wally and Linda's new baby but the shock at seeing Wally? That's got baby tornado twin written all over it.

This could just be a random speedster child but come on. The aliens who have never been to earth before just happen to have a human? And that human just so happens to be rescued by Bart? And explicitly Bart too. Bart saw a random piece of tech and had what can only be described as a moment and then he just randomly decided that he wanted it and he was taking it.

I can buy that Bart sensed the speedforce and was compelled to take the 'battery' and that's it. But Ace had no reaction. No. That's not a normal reaction. That's a kid subconsciously recognizing their dad's energy signature and struggling to identify what they're sensing. That's Bart and Don.
