From a young age, Frankie Alinsky knew what she wanted. A beautiful cottage in the woods, surrounded by various flora and fauna. The cottagecore dream. Her dream.

It was something she daydreamed frequently, especially when she was left to her own devices all the time. Her parents were usually out and about, and once her mother died, it only got worse. It was just her and the books she’d borrowed. Their topics were gardening how-tos, flower meanings, and her favorite; how to buy a plot of land just for herself.

And so one day she got so sick of it. 14 year old Frankie was sick of being locked up in her house all her life. When her father was especially drunk at night, he’d leave the back door unlocked, and that’s when she made her escape.

In the dead of night, she left her home and never looked back. With only her pajamas, her favorite hat, and all the money in her piggy bank, she ran to town searching for a place to sell her land.

She came across the only lit up shop in town, named “Columbine Realtors.” This was exactly what she needed. She met with a man nicknamed “Mister D” and they had a very spirited conversation. He treated her as a serious customer and offered her options of land to buy. Once she made her choice, all he did was make her sign a contract and it was hers.

Not reading the fine print, Frankie signed the contract. Mister D offered his hand to shake, and Frankie shook it. Then everything faded to black.

Once she came to, she couldn’t believe it; a cottage next to a forest. Exactly what she dreamed of. Although, the strangest thing was; she swore she could feel something staring at her.

lol has anybody ever read this yet or just the first couple chapters? i like having books like these just to collect tbh, and sometimes for reference! got a nice lil library with all the classics for visitors to peruse: Rules for Radicals, Tibak Rising, Blackshirts and Red, Mutual Aid: A Factor in Human Evolution, Noli Me Tangere, Zapantera Negra lmao etc

i know, some a these "suck" but again, they're pretty good for reference and they make the house look great! besides, you could always just use them as lil props and move 'em 'round n take secret picture messages, make all kindsa statements n'at lmao, na'mean!?

Confuse them. Own them. Fireworks are sticky. But effective. I am not sure that the American people, who don't read, and can't make up their minds, care. Gay men, prepare. They're coming for you. Scream in the Country Club. Erect a medical tent middle of the street (mayor's house). The tent is there to take in demonstrators who are exhausted. Read Saul Alinski. Put his books in that tent. What if we started actively disincentivizing landlords letting real estate stay empty rather than renting at reasonable prices? Like, give them a maximum of three months to get a new tenant in, and then they start accumulating fines for the unused space.

And some similar system to disincentivize the ridiculous airbnb market as well. Make it unprofitable to have homes sitting empty in a city where people with jobs find themselves living in tents. Hell, make it unprofitable to have homes sitting empty anywhere that has a homelessness problem.

It seems to me that a lot of people on the left really don't understand power mapping and strategic value of people switching to your camp regardless of their internal reasons for doing so.
