The streets of Washington DC were empty, an eerie fog picking up within the night. Halloween night was usually far different, the many parties going on for adults or the children trick-or-treating and lighting up the dimly lit neighborhoods scattered across the city. This year, fear suffocated the city, a masked killer haunting the area while brutally murdering people and showing absolutely no remorse.
The BAU was working days on end, every lead being buried so deep that not even the brilliant mind of Penelope Garcia could dig them up. Every phone call made could never be traced, no voice recognition because of the device concealing the true voice of the culprit and changing the tone. The hopes weren’t high, the best bet was waiting for this person to get sloppy. It was just a shame because this man knew exactly what he was doing.
None of you had even begun to think of the possibility of it being a team, the kills all perfectly aligned to the point that it had to be a coordinated unsub who’d planned this. The team has been sent home for the night, knowing that you all needed sleep over anything else. It was easier said than done, especially whenever you couldn’t manage to lay down without hearing some bump that had you shooting right back up. Even in an apartment where numerous sounds were normal, you were on the highest of alert.
You had just finished a brief phone call with Spencer, entrusting your closest friend and coworker in your struggles to sleep. He’d commented that he understood and was going through the same issues, telling you numerous things to try and relax yourself enough to sleep. You told him you’d call him later, opting to take a shower before bed in hopes it would relax your tensed muscles.
Little did you know, you gave him just what he wanted.
Your hands were moving to slowly turn the water of the shower head off, a sigh leaving your lips as you felt comfortable. That was what you needed. As your hand dipped out of the shower curtain, you were retrieving the towel hanging on the hanger beside you. Before you could attempt to dry yourself, you were groaning whenever the power had been flipped off. It was storming outside, so you assumed it had to do with the weather. As peaceful as the sounds of rain were, you hated some of the after effects due to the downpour. After using the towel to wrap around yourself, you pulled back the shower curtain.
You had a bad feeling. You weren’t sure exactly why but there was just an uneasy feeling filling your stomach. Maybe it was because of the dark? Your hand was grabbing your phone from the counter, turning on the device’s flashlight before you were approaching your bedroom door. For once in the night, there was silence. Maybe your noisy neighbors finally went down for the night.
The spooky ambience really added on to the Halloween feel, however you weren’t too fond of it tonight. Even in the safety of your apartment, you felt like someone was watching you. Using the handy flashlight feature and safely navigating back to your bedroom, you were contemplating for a few moments before closing your bedroom door, locking it for another sense of security.
Taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm yourself, you were trying to convince yourself that you were nervous for no reason. Nobody could get in. You locked the front door and now your bedroom door, you were safe.
“It’s probably a good thing you locked the door. Could you imagine who can come in at any time?” A disguised voice sounded from the other side of the room, making your heart fall to your stomach. “For an FBI profiler, you aren’t very observant.” You didn’t dare turn around, body paralyzed in fear. “You’re gonna kill me, aren’t you?” You asked, voice as steady as you could get it when there was a laugh behind you. “No. I’m not gonna kill you. Not if you listen to everything you’re told.” Your eyes were squeezed tightly shut from fear.
“Now,” The feeling of the gloved hand against your back made you flinch, however it was like the delicate touch was attempting to soothe you. “Turn around and look at me, hmm? Let me see that pretty face.” You had the mind to deny it, to say no and try and attempt to run, even if you wouldn’t get far. However, you wanted to stay alive, so your body was slowly turning around. “There she is.” The masked figure sighed in content, right hand gripping a blade as the opposite was coming up to pull the mask off.
Your eyes widened, the tears still pouring from the corners and soaking your face. Elle Greenaway was standing in front of you, looking at you with an undeniable hunger in her eye.
You hadn’t seen her in years, not after she lost her job and she was forced out. “Is this a joke?” You asked first and foremost. Surely it was an unfunny practical joke that your ex coworker was putting on. However she made it painfully clear that it wasn’t when the blade in her hand was brought to your neck. “Wait!” You rushed, still frozen from fear while you could hear shuffling from another area of your apartment. This was beyond your bedroom door. “He takes forever. Fuck. He almost missed the fun!” Elle commented, now using her knife to nick your flesh while watching the slow stream of blood trickle down your skin, smiling with satisfaction before leaning forward. You didn’t know what to expect but when you felt her tongue lap over the crimson fluid from your skin, you could feel your cheeks flushing.
Were you really turned on right now?
You didn’t have much time to question it as the woman took the opportunity of you being lost in your own thoughts to move you and unlock your bedroom door. “About time,” She scoffed, making the masked figure stop as he realized she had taken her mask off. “What the hell?” He asked immediately, not having time to stop Elle from yanking the mask off of his head as well.
You could’ve expected anyone else in the world but when you saw Spencer’s wide eyes from beyond the mask, you could feel your blood run cold. You’d told Spencer all of your plans for tonight just for him to make plans to break into your apartment? You could only assume he was going to kill you and the amount of betrayal that consumed you was enough to throw you into the pits of hell without needing to be murdered first. “Look at her! We can’t hurt her. Besides, she’s already so graciously agreed to celebrate the holiday with us tonight. I feel like we deserve a trick-or-treat break.” She began while smirking as the dots were soon being connected by Spencer as he nodded slowly. “Are we sure this is a good idea? Keeping her alive keeps a giant target on our backs since you got the bright idea to show our faces.” He grumbled. “I’ve been to prison once before and I promise you that I would rather die than end up in there again.” He said in a simple tone, making his partner wave him off. “I don’t think we will have a problem with her. Besides, the goal was to catch her in the shower but someone showed up too late.”
You were silent as you’d realized your vulnerable state, wrapped up in only a towel that you’d managed to squeeze tighter around your body. This was insane. “You two are fucking nuts.” As quickly as you found your voice, you were losing it again the moment you had the blade pressed against your throat again. “Watch your fucking mouth.” Elle spat while her intense gaze had you squeezing your thighs together. Being with two profilers, albeit one former, it wasn’t hard for them to notice the way your pupils were blown out, face flushed, the way your grip on the towel was turning your knuckles white.
“Are you really turned on right now?” Spencer asked, a thick tension clouding the room as he was moving closer to you, eyes trailing to the knife in Elle’s hand while he was pulling his out soon after. Holding it up in front of your face, he raised an eyebrow. “You like the idea of getting fucked by people trying to kill you?” He was amused, making you blush from embarrassment. “She’s a whore. You should’ve seen her reaction when I licked her neck earlier.” Elle added soon after, both of their intense gazes making you want to fall to your knees.
As the woman in front of you dragged the tip of the knife from your neck to your shoulder, she sighed in content. “Try it. It’s fun. I think she gets off on the idea of you cutting her, marking her like she’s only ours.” She hummed, watching as Spencer nodded, although his blade was rested under your chin, using a light push to tilt your head up to face him. “You like my knife? Even though I could kill you with it?” He asked, his honey colored eyes hidden behind the cloud of lust overshadowing the beautiful irises. As he let the blade trail from your chin to your neck, his eyes were fixated on your face, watching as you let your eyes flutter shut.
“What kind of slut likes this shit? You really are a whore.” He spat. This wasn’t a side of Spencer that you ever thought you’d see, however you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like it. He applied more pressure, the blade breaking the skin as he ran it down your neck to your shoulder. It wasn’t deep enough to scar, however the sight of your blood covering your skin had his cock stirring in his pants. Like Elle, Spencer had leaned forward to lap up the metallic fluid. He did something a little different though. “Open your mouth.” He grumbled, the mix of your blood and his spit sitting on his tongue. You obliged, mouth open as you had stuck your tongue out as well, which earned a chuckle from the woman watching the scene.
Spencer spit the mixture into your mouth, his free hand forcing your mouth closed while giving you no choice but to swallow it. The act had your cunt clenching around nothing, arousal building in your stomach. “She listens well. We might have to keep her alive after all.” The woman mused while the man in front of you was putting the handle weapon in his mouth, quickly ripping the towel off of your exposed body while grinning around the black handle. Taking it from his mouth, the knife was soon back in Spencer’s hand and running down the valley of your breasts, your breathing picking up from the adrenaline.
He really could gut you like a fish right now but here he is, dragging the knife over your flushed flesh while smirking. Your pussy was glistening from how wet you’d been from this whole encounter.
The knife was dragging down your stomach, then dropping to your thighs as he traced it over your inner thigh. Your mouth was agape, chest rising and falling rapidly. “Let’s see how good that cunt is, hmm?” Elle finally commented, getting bored of only watching as she was flipping her knife around, hand moving to hold the blade while she was dropping to her knees in front of you. “She’s soaking wet, Spencer. Look at this.” The woman taunted, the male dropping to his knees as well while leaving you blushing.
You were anticipating what move they would make next. What you weren’t expecting was for the blunt handle of the knife to tap against your swollen clit, making your eyes widen. “It’s not that big.” Elle commented, laughing as her free hand was moving to spread your labia apart, looking at your desperate hole attempting to clench around nothing as she sighed in content.
“Let’s give that greedy pussy what she wants.” She’d commented, pushing the end of the knife into your cunt, a grin on your face as your desperate hole was eagerly sucking the weapon in. As her hand was moving slowly to fuck you with the knife, you were left to be a whining mess. This was fucked. You should’ve been terrified, ready to fight back even though you knew you’d die. Instead, you were getting pounded with the handle of a knife while being reduced to a moaning and whining mess. The unholy sounds of your pussy squelching around the knife was enough to make things progress quite quickly.
Cruelly, Elle was taking stopping her actions and ultimately tossing the knife on the floor, a huff of displeasure leaving your lips from the emptiness. “Don’t you huff at me. You know, you don’t deserve this.” She spat, her head moving closer to your core as her tongue swiped over your clit with a soft hum, grinning once you’d gripped her hair. “That’s right. Gonna fuck this desperate cunt with my tongue, bet you want that so bad.” Her words were low, her hands resting against your thighs as her tongue was sliding along your slit, collecting every ounce of your essence that you were happy to let her drink up and savor.
“Oh fuck,” You panted, feeling the woman waste no time as her tongue was pistoning your slick hole with no remorse, as if you were the piece of candy she’d gotten for wearing such a clever costume tonight. Spencer had already discarded his robe by that point, palming his hard cock in his pants as he watched the scene go down in front of him.
Her tongue was massaging your inner walls, your moans in sync as she was slurping and sucking at your desperate cunt. She knew exactly what she was doing, her attention moving to your clit while she was sliding two fingers into your cunt without warning. It was enough to make you grip her hair and attempt to shove her face deeper. With her middle and ring fingers, she was scissoring your cunt as she curled them deep inside of you, your walls spasming around her fingers as you could feel your arousal building. The first orgasm you had was powerful, the way you gripped tightly onto Elle while desperately rocking your hips and whimpering softly.
Spencer was humming as he glanced at the woman beside him, her mouth wet with your cum and arousal as she was pulling back after licking up your mess from your cunt and thighs. “Alright. I feel like it’s my turn. That’s fair, right?” He questioned, although he wasn’t delving into your cunt, no, he was pushing himself to stand. “On your knees.” He murmured, hands working on his belt before undoing it, eventually pushing his pants down his legs as he kicked them off. You were mesmerized, seeing the outline of his cock that was being constricted in his boxers.
He hadn’t forgotten about your love of his knife though, kneeling down briefly to retrieve it while slowly running it down your cheek. “You don’t deserve to get fucked by me yet.” He murmured, eyebrows raised as you were seemingly not even listening to him, your hands moving to the waistband of his boxers to tug them down. Watching his cock slap against his stomach had an involuntary moan falling from your lips. “Yeah, figured you’d be a cockslut. Go on then.” He murmured, hand gripping your hair as he was leading you to his cock that was standing at attention. As soon as the tip was pushed past your lips, Spencer gave you a few seconds to get a rhythm going as you were sucking at his dick. However, he was frustrated at just how slow paced you were. That was when he took matters into his own hands, keeping his tight grip on your hair as he was roughly thrusting into your mouth.
The sudden intrusion had you gagging, tears brimming your eyes while you were staring up at Spencer through your eyelashes. “Fuck. That’s right. You look so fucking sexy with my cock in your mouth. Take it like a champ.” He grunted, hips snapping as you were reduced to gagging, moaning, and whining while attempting to bob your head in time with his thrusts. It didn’t work out that way. Spencer craved control, that was why he even worked with Elle in the first place. He’d spent years being the shy guy who had no idea what to do or wanted to hold back. Now however, he had no remorse as he had you crying from him fucking your throat raw. Much to your dismay, you were being roughly yanked off of his cock by your hair.
“There’s no way in hell that I’m wasting my cum in your mouth. You’re gonna have to take it in that desperate little pussy of yours. Bet you’d like the idea of me filling you up, marking you as mine. You know.. I bet you’d like me to fuck my load deep inside of you, get you pregnant? Then what would you do? You’d be stuck with me.” He smirked. He did like the idea of that. The idea of you being quiet and keeping him and Elle safe due to the fact you were filled with his child? It was enough to make his cock twitch.
“Get up. Get on the bed.” He ordered. He could order you around but he knew Elle wouldn’t follow his instructions. “Why don’t you sit on her face? Keep her whore mouth shut so the neighbors don’t think she’s getting murdered in here.” He suggested, the woman not needing to be told twice as she was shedding off her robe along with her pants and panties, not wasting any time to roughly shove your body back into your bed. “Gonna suffocate you with my pussy. I bet you would like that, wouldn’t you? To go out desperately licking and sucking on my cunt?” Elle and Spencer were both filthy talkers. That was for damn sure.
With your body falling against the plush mattress, you barely had time to react before the other woman was setting herself over your face. “I can’t wait to make a mess out of that pretty face.” She mused, waiting for Spencer to get situated before the two shared a glance while the male was getting between your legs, his hand coming down to give your pussy a smack while eliciting a squeak out of you. The sting hurt a little too good, the male taking note as he gave two more smacks before his hand was gripping his cock. He gave himself a few lazy tugs before getting situated, his cock slowly pushing into you. As much as he would’ve loved to split you open, he wasn’t planning on killing you nor seriously hurting you. His generosity was appreciated, even if that generosity didn’t last all too long.
The minute you had Elle’s soaked cunt hovering over your face, your hands were gripping her thighs as your tongue was flicking over her clit, relishing in the hint of her sweet essence. It wasn’t too long for her to take control though, all her weight being put onto your face as she was rolling her hips against your mouth, your eyes rolling to the back of your head as Spencer had pulled out and roughly slammed into your pussy again.
Both of the people you feared so much earlier were using you like a fuck toy, Spencer pounding deep into your cunt while Elle was riding your tongue as you attempted to tongue fuck her, however the moans being muffled into her warmth from the assault on your pussy made it just a little difficult to focus. “Fuck. I think we may have to keep her locked up. Use this little whore for whatever we need her for. Especially after these stressful fucking days.” Spencer panted out.
Your body was nothing more than a toy, begging to be used and abused by the two psychopaths who seemingly pulled you into their spell.
Your second and final orgasm of the night was building with each rough thrust that Spencer granted you with, your face a mess from the sounds of you licking and sucking at Elle’s desperate pussy, the other woman moaning and demanding more out of you, as if that were possible. “Fuck. Wanna be filled with my cum, slut? I promise that you’re gonna be mine. Gonna mark you the only way I know how.” The feeling of your pussy clenching tightly around his cock was all he needed, ropes or his cum painting your inner walls, you were pretty sure he painted your womb just as much. Pulling his softening cock out of you, he was inspecting the damage. Your pretty cunt was glistening, cum just begging to come out as it ran down your inner thighs and onto your bedsheets.
As your tongue was lapping and desperately sucking at the woman’s clit, it wasn’t long until you could feel her creamy arousal paint your mouth area, even rubbing down to your neck as she was pushing her body off of you to fall back against the mattress. You were beyond fucked out, eyes closing as your chest rose and fell at an unsteady pace as you made an effort to catch your breath. “You know..” Elle began while glancing at Spencer, who’d already been pulling his clothes back on.
“I feel like you’re onto something with us taking her.” She commented, the two looking down at you as if they were predators and you were their helpless prey.
“Oh. She’s definitely coming with us.”

Earlier this week, journalists at WIRED and The Washington Post reported that a “Russian-aligned propaganda network notorious for creating deepfake whistleblower videos” appears to be behind a coordinated effort to promote false sexual misconduct allegations against vice presidential candidate Tim Walz.
At WIRED, David Gilbert wrote that researchers have linked a group they’re calling “Storm-1516” to the campaign against Walz. “Storm-1516 has a long history of posting fake whistleblower videos, and often deepfake videos, to push Kremlin talking points to the West,” Gilbert explained. A few days earlier, NBC News also reported on Storm-1516, citing its work as demonstrative of Russian propaganda’s growing utilization of artificial intelligence and more sophisticated bot networks.
Two days after the WIRED report, Washington Post journalist and Russia expert Catherine Belton reported on another bad actor implicated in spreading the allegations against Walz: John Mark Dougan, a former Florida cop with a long and winding record that includes internal affairs investigations, early discharge from the Marines, and a penchant for posting confidential data about thousands of police officers, federal agents, and judges on his blog, which led to 21 state charges of extortion and wiretapping. To escape that indictment, Dougan fled to Moscow, where he soon put his conspiratorial blogging skills to work, effectively enlisting in the Russian intelligence community’s “Internet war” against America.
Records show and disinformation researchers argue that Dougan is responsible for content on dozens of fake news sites with deliberately misleading names like DC Weekly, Chicago Chronicle, and Atlanta Observer. Lately, he’s reportedly started using a GRU-facilitated server and AI generator to create phony videos like the deepfake video showing one of Walz’s former students accusing him of sexual abuse.
With a little more than a week until the U.S. presidential election, Meduza spoke to Renée DiResta — the author of Invisible Rulers: The People Who Turn Lies Into Reality and an associate research professor at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy — about Russian propaganda, how it’s evolved over the years, and how American social networks are responding (and not responding) ahead of the November 2024 vote.

Jacques-Louis David
Artists: Anonymous Artist, Georges Rouget (French, 1784-1869)
Date: c. 1813/1815
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, United States
Jacques-Louis David
Jacques-Louis David (30 August 1748 – 29 December 1825) was a French painter in the Neoclassical style, considered to be the preeminent painter of the era. In the 1780s, his cerebral brand of history painting marked a change in taste away from Rococo frivolity toward classical austerity, severity, and heightened feeling, which harmonized with the moral climate of the final years of the Ancien Régime.
David later became an active supporter of the French Revolution and friend of Maximilien Robespierre (1758–1794), and was effectively a dictator of the arts under the French Republic. Imprisoned after Robespierre's fall from power, he aligned himself with yet another political regime upon his release: that of Napoleon, the First Consul of France. At this time he developed his Empire style, notable for its use of warm Venetian colours. After Napoleon's fall from Imperial power and the Bourbon revival, David exiled himself to Brussels, then in the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, where he remained until his death. David had many pupils, making him the strongest influence in French art of the early 19th century, especially academic Salon painting.

A better alternative choice for Reason of State in Witcher 3
I see a lot of divide on the result of Reason of State for being forced to choose between Dijkstra and Roche. Friendship vs an independent North. But to me it makes no sense for Roche, Ves and Thaler to sell out the North to Emhyr if it means that Temeria is a vassal state. That's like if America lost the Revolutionary War or War of 1812 and made a deal so Washington DC could remain a vassal state. I can't bring myself to betray Roche, Ves and Thaler, but this is the better alternative in my opinion.
The problem with Reason of State is the masterfully intelligent Dijkstra suddenly becoming an idiot and announcing his treachery in person to Geralt while expecting him to stand aside and let his friends get murdered. It's so out of character and rushed and makes no sense.
I think Dijkstra is objectively the best scenario for the North but he behaves so irrationally and you have to just let your friends die in a way that Geralt never would if you want to achieve that ending. I would've been okay with Dijkstra and Thaler manipulating things together to spring a sort of Rains of Castamere type "peace" with Emhyr. Roche would only tolerate this if it meant a free Temeria and a free North.
However. I also would've liked to seen involvement from John Natalis and Iorveth.
Having Iorveth involved- this kinda factors into how the game as a whole could have been fixed and the buildup to Reasons of State actually feels pretty weak if you ask me. I get wanting increased accessibility, but I also can imagine a lot of Iorveth fans aren’t too happy he’s not part of the game and you’re just forced into aligning with Roche. Having the buildup with the Catriona Plague storyline at the Devil’s Pit and basically putting the stories of Iorveth and Roche back together by forcing them to work together through the story of the Witcher 3 would have done wonders for this. Plus, you get Iorveth as a potential ally at Kaer Morhen and makes it so then regardless of whether you’re Team Roche or Team Iorveth, you still have your main ally from the Witcher 2 involved in the Reasons of State plot. I do think what Iorveth would get out of this alliance is a State for the Scoia'tael led by Francesca and be true allies to Temeria/The North.
John Natalis and Anais involved. Basically John rallies the Temarians and the North behind Anais. The entire plot of Witcher 2, the entire prologue and the third act were dedicated to Foltest's children and the choice to help Anais reclaim her father's throne during this massive political summit, and then in Witcher the devs just decided they can't touch this. So my solution, involve Natalis. Natalis could rally some nobles and military men, which could give him a lot of power, but he doesn't seem to have the ambition to take over the kingdom and he sees the best way to unite Temaria and The Northis through Anais. So with Natalis involved, we would be able to choose between Emyhr, not getting involved and letting Radovid run wild or we help put Anais on the throne with Roche, Natalis and Dijkstra as her council. Also? We could tie this into the main questline. We choose Natalis and the sorceresses stops choosing Emhyr and asks for Anais to end the witch hunts. Also another win.
Queen Anais sure sounds like a better conclusion if you ask me, if only CDPR didn't drop the plot or forget either of these characters.

The Vigilant Fox

10 - Tucker Carlson warns that the Deep State has decided that WW3 is the only way to stop Trump from exposing their crimes.
“Those people, out of options, have decided the only way to stop Trump and... having their crimes revealed is with a world war,” Carlson said.
Carlson explained that Permanent Washington doesn’t care about domestic policy or making the country better. Instead, they only care about foreign policy because “killing people” makes them “feel like God” and “that’s where the money is.”
“I remain deeply concerned that this group, which includes nearly everyone in DC from both parties, wants Trump to take the country to war—either against Russia or, far more likely, Iran,” Carlson warned, emphasizing, “A war with Iran is a world war.”
He explained that Iran is now aligned with some of the world’s largest economies and most powerful militaries. As such, “A war with Iran means a war, in effect or by proxy, with Russia, China, Turkey, and much of the rest of the world. So that’s a world war.”
Meanwhile, despite a mandate from the American people to an end to the war in Ukraine, the current regime is now considering the unthinkable—arming Ukraine with nuclear weapons.

9 - Whoopi Goldberg unexpectedly SHUTS DOWN co-host’s attempt to fearmonger about Trump before he even takes office.
ANA NAVARRO: “I'm not going to wait and see. I mean, this guy has told us he's a retribution. He's going to be a dictator.”
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: “There's nothing to be done until you know what you're fighting. Pissing in the wind doesn't help—you just get a wet face.”
ANA NAVARRO: “What I'm saying is I have no false expectations that at 78, he's going to, all of a sudden, turn into another human being. I spent weeks telling people that he was apocalyptic. I'm not going to change now.”
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: “You lose credibility in many different ways. If you don't know what you're talking about and you accuse him of something, then they're going to blow it back. That's why I say we need to wait and see.”

"My message to Elon Musk is b*llshit. You're not the media!"
The MSNBC panel applauds:
“Social media people lying every day, every hour, every minute about the news, what you do matters. What the New York Times does matters. What the Wall Street Journal does matters."
They are incensed that 𝕏 exposes their lies — one reason their industry is in total collapse.

7 - Trump Transition Has 59% Approval in CBS News Poll
President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration starts off with mostly good will from the public: a majority of Americans overall are either happy or at least satisfied that he won and are either excited or optimistic about what he'll do as president.
Trump's handling of his presidential transition gets approval from most Americans overall and brings near-universal approval from his voters, along with a net-positive response about his selections for Cabinet posts, in particular, Sen. Marco Rubio, who is Trump's pick to be secretary of state.
Overall, Republicans today are more excited about what Trump will do as president now than they were in 2016 when he was first elected.

6 - Stephen A. Smith admits Democrats got their “ass kicked” this election, and to make matters worse, “they have no bullpen.”
“A blind man could see the Democrats got their ass kicked.”
The problem with the Democrats, Stephen A. says, is that they “greased the skids” on the Democratic process.
While Republicans chose Trump because that’s who they genuinely wanted, Democrats sabotaged Bernie Sanders in 2016 simply because it was Hillary’s “turn.”
Now, the Democrats’ bench is so weak that they seriously entertained running an 82-year-old (Biden) as their top option.
“What are you thinking [with Biden]? And then I looked at the bullpen, and they had no one. They had no one. They had no one that could compete with Donald Trump,” Smith concluded.

Dalgleish minced no words in criticizing the hasty implementation and widespread use of mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.
He expressed grave concerns about these vaccines, stating, “These vaccines were not vaccines, particularly the ones that ended up after AstraZeneca with all the clots, and they were shut down. But the messenger RNA vaccines of Pfizer and Moderna have caused unbelievable problems and damage to people, and I don't think we will ever really be able to get over that!”

#3 - Rand Paul Warns Denver Mayor Who Threatened Trump on Deportations: You Will Lose, and You Will Be Removed
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) issued a rather stern warning to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston (D), suggesting that any effort to deny the new administration's mass deportation efforts could result in his removal from office.
Senator Paul concurs with the insurrection label and suggests that the Supreme Court would squash any such effort by Johnston. He further speculates on whether someone like Johnston might face criminal prosecution and predicts he'd likely be removed from office.

#2 - Tucker Carlson makes stunning claim on who is really running the White House.
He told Clayton Morris on Redacted that he used to think Tony Blinken was running the White House. Now, he thinks it has to be Satan himself.
“I really think that you’ve got dark forces in charge.”
Tucker says the only reason the US would approve anti-personnel mines and long-range missiles against Russian forces is to “kill innocents, period.”
“That’s the only effect,” Carlson stressed.
“And they know that. And so they’re doing it anyway because killing is the point. So it’s evil. I think we should say that. I don’t think it’s a matter of defending democracy. The president of Ukraine is not elected. He’s a dictator. He literally passed his term and kept serving,” Carlson continued.
“And that country shut down a Christian denomination — put priests in jail. How many more markers of dictatorship do you need to call it what it is? Which is totalitarian. So everything about it is horrifying.”
#1 - Former Polish Minister Says At Least Half of US Aid Was Laundered by Ukrainians, and Much Was Given to Democrats
Kiev laundered money for the Democrats, taking a cut of what was left over, Piotr Kulpa has claimed President Biden meets with Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky at the White House.
Ukraine did not receive as much foreign aid as claimed by the administration of US President Joe Biden, and whatever help it did get was largely embezzled, a former Polish deputy minister has claimed. Up to a half of the funds that reached Kiev was stolen by Ukrainian officials, Piotr Kulpa has alleged.
US aid programs are a mechanism to “write off large sums of money that finance shady systems under the Democratic Party’s control,” he alleged. The incoming Trump administration could review government finances and discover the truth that “Ukraine got very little” compared to the amounts mentioned in public statements, Kulpa claimed.

"How Do You Solve a Problem Like 'Mairon'?"
Tumblr media
The paper I presented in 2023 and 2024 at Tolkien@UVM, GIFCon, and Oxonmoot has been published in The Journal of Tolkien Research. It's a deep dive into Sauron's name "Mairon." Find it at the link below (copy/paste to get it to work).
https://scholar.valpo.edu/journaloftolkienresearch/vol20/iss2/3/
Abstract
This paper analyzes Sauron’s “original” name, “Mairon,” in its various contexts (textual, temporal, and linguistic) and then applies it to a reading of the character in order to produce a “capsule characterization” or “minimyth” for the Lord of the Rings himself. The name “Mairon” appears only in a note to a single entry in a list of Eldarin roots, not published until 2007 in the journal Parma Eldalamberon. This niche location suggests one of the many ways in which this name is marginal: typographically, linguistically, narratively, and historically (as in the Secondary World). The name appears to have been conceived during a flurry of revision to the Legendarium following the publication of The Lord of the Rings, revision that elsewhere included additional work on Sauron. Apparently derived from maira (“admirable, excellent, precious”), the name is situated within a broader complex of entries expressing notions of greatness, art-making, service, usefulness, and value. Both “Maia” and “Mairon” are ultimately derived from the same root, suggesting a possible understanding of the pre-corrupted Sauron as in some way exemplary of his own order. The name is notably distinct from the names of most of the other Ainur, the majority of whom are named for particular domains of Creation with which they are associated (weeping, weaving, invention, birds, etc.); “Mairon” (“The Admirable”) is more closely aligned with Melian’s Quenya name “Melyanna” (“Dear Gift”) as both names suggest an implied “other.” Ultimately, the name “Mairon” is meaningful to a reading of Sauron and fits smoothly into a larger pattern of associations of the character with the notions of seeing (or not), being seen (or not), and how one is seen (or how one sees the self).

BY ALLISON TOMBROS KORMAN
As the war ramped up, it was clear that this issue was not going away. Not only was I struggling to process Oct. 7 with friends, family, and my community, I was also navigating the conflict every day at work. As the only Jewish voice in the organization, I was repeatedly put in the position to speak for all Jewish people—an impossible task—or to defend my perspective and why it did not align with that of Jewish Voices for Peace, a group that purports to represent Jews but rejects the basic premise of a Jewish homeland, or similar entities. At the same time, if I advocated for DCAF staying out of this discussion, I was told I was silencing the organization and its staff. I shared my heartbreak about the violence against both Israelis and Palestinians and how, though complex, these feelings could coexist. In return, it was explained to me, often by people with no direct connection to the land or its people, that I needed to understand “context.”
At the same time, other abortion funds and reproductive health organizations began issuing statements about what was happening in Gaza. These statements contained much of the same offensive nomenclature as DCAF’s draft and some, like ARC-Southeast’s letter, went further, calling Zionism—the belief that Israel simply has a right to exist—“a contradiction to Reproductive Justice.” Every member of the DCAF staff except me signed on to a letter to the board advising them that they would be participating in a walkout in support of Palestine. The letter noted, “We are using our collective power as DCAF workers to show up for Gazans and call for an immediate ceasefire, as well as liberation for Palestinians ... we cannot ignore the mass violations to human rights and sexual and reproductive health outcomes that we’re seeing out of Gaza.” Remarkably, the letter neglected any mention of health outcomes for the Israeli survivors of rape or assault, or for the hostages.
In an effort to work collaboratively and keep focused on our primary objectives, we agreed that establishing social media procedures was a critical next step. On Nov. 14, I and the communications team sat down to decide what, if anything, DCAF would be posting about the war and to ensure there were not more situations like that which occurred around the “Gaza Carousel.” I recognized that my colleagues felt strongly that DCAF should weigh in on this discussion, and in an effort to compromise, I agreed to a process that would allow DCAF to uplift existing content from trusted partners in the field, but not create original content, as this would be beyond our expertise. We agreed to abstain from using nomenclature that could be distracting or divisive to our community, such as the “Free Palestine” hashtag or calling Israel’s actions “genocide.” We developed a system to review and discuss potentially controversial content related to the war before posting, starting with a small group of reviewers, including me, and escalating to a vote by a mix of board and staff.
The following morning, I circulated the notes from that meeting to DCAF leadership and members of the Board. At 3 p.m. that day, I was alerted by a Jewish DCAF volunteer that the DCAF Instagram feed featured graphics from The Washington Post about deaths in Gaza with commentary overlaid, specifically that “collective punishment is the tool of fascists” and that what was happening in Gaza was “a prime and top-of-mind example of said collective punishment.” I immediately flagged this for the communications team and asked if perhaps the content was posted inadvertently since it violated the norms we had established in the meeting the previous day. Surely, equating the actions of the entire State of Israel with fascism was a perspective that needed to be discussed as potentially controversial. They assured me the post was intentional (they later stealthily removed it).
Immediately, DCAF received angry messages from Jewish members of their community. The messages criticized DCAF for being so one-sided on the issue. They were furious that DCAF, who claimed to deeply value reproductive justice, had remained silent on the rapes of Israeli women. They stated that as Jews, they felt abandoned by and isolated from the organization.

⌜drew ray tanner. 31. cis man. he/him.⌟ ╱ was that MADDOX BUCHANAN i just saw wandering around lake stillwater ? you know the PLAYBOY ? odd … i never imagined they’d be back in town, especially after everything that happened last time. but i guess it makes sense, considering they've always been known for being ALLURING and AUDACIOUS. still, they you'd think they'd be more cautious—especially since they’re also quite FICKLE and CONCEITED, but then again that explains, how he charmed his landlord into letting him have a hamster despite signing a lease with a no pets allowed clause. last i heard they were working as a CROUPIER in WASHINGTON DC… i wonder if that's where they picked up that LUCKY POKER CHIP they're always carrying around. nonetheless, with whatever happened on that lake all those years ago, they'd better hope the cabin keeps them safe this time around.
stats
full name: maddox jeremiah buchanan
nickname(s): mads and mj but he refuses to say what the j stands for. he lets people believe his middle name is james
date of birth: december 4th 1993
zodiac sign: sagittarius
hometown: washington, dc
current residence: washington dc
occupation: croupier
gender: cis man
pronouns: he/him
sexuality: bisexual
mbti: esfp
alignment: chaotic neutral
enneagram type: 8
reference characters: patrick zweig (challengers), hawkeye pierce (mash), han solo (star wars) and sally bowels (cabaret)
bio.
maddox was born the only child of an attorney and pharmacologist. his parents were absent for most of his childhood. they didn't intend to make him feel ignored. that was just an unintended but damaging consequence of the two of them prioritising their jobs over every other commitment. maddox’s mundane childhood memories involve a rotating roster of nannies
growing up maddox learned that there were two ways to get the attention he craved. his primary method of getting attention was to be the loudest and most charming person in the room. he aimed to make as many friendships as possible. as a child he spent more time eating dinner with his friends’ parents than with his own. his other method of getting attention was acting out. people couldn't ignore him when he answered back to teachers or got into fights with classmates who thought he was too obnoxious and blunt
during high school maddox's priority wasn't academics, much to the dissapointment of his parents. he couldn't focus on subjects that didn't interest him and he refused to put in more effort than he had to. when he had homework he didn't want to do he bribed or charmed one of his classmates into doing it for him. the aspect of high school that came easy to maddox was being at the top of the social ladder. his good looks and superficial charm meant he thrived socially
maddox's choice of college caused a huge disagreement with his parents. by that point he already had a wide variety of arguments with his parents so he wasn't phased of them disaproving of another one of his actions. his parents wanted him to apply to ivy league colleges or a prestigious research school. however he refused. maddox wanted to go to a college where he would meet a wider variety of people. he didn't just want to be surrounded by ambitious people from wealthy backgrounds
when he first met jamie maddox was jelaous of him. jamie was handsome and likable. he wanted jamie's leadership position. but eventually he came to accept that wasn't going to happen. jamie was too charismatic and unlike maddox he was kind and dependable
harper and maddox didn't initially get along. harper thought he was smug and maddox thought she was a stick in the mud. due to the kind of forced proximity that only comes from being in the same college social circles they did eventually grow to like each other. harper realized that maddox could be endearing when he wasn't being an annoyance. maddox learned that harper had her playful moments and wasn't entirely a stern authority figure
after jamie's death maddox cut contact with almost everyone who was at the lake when jamie died. he had no idea how to process what happened. in his brain death wasn't something that happened to young lively people like jamie. death was meant to only come for old people who had already lived out their full lives
maddox had already graduated when jamie died so it was easy to pretend his friends from college didn't exist. he was meant to start his adult life. his dad arranged for him to be an intern at his friend's law firm. maddox didn't last the full year. he found the enviroment stifling and was still failing to process his grief. after his internship fell through he managed to find a series of customer service jobs to support himself. he needed the money because his parents had cut him off. he only really stopped feeling like he was sleep walking through life when he found a job as a croupier. maddox's slight smarm is perfect for the job and he loves feeling like he outsmarted the clientele who come to the hotel casino where he works
maddox's only contact with harper before her death was through yearly birthday messages or comments on her instagram posts. he found out about her death through social media. he was surprised to be apart of the group she wanted to return to stillwater lake. he was reluctant to come but he didn't want to let her down one last time. he didn't go to jamie's funeral so he almost feels like by helping to give harper the send off she deserves he's apologizing to jamie.
wanted connections.
a friend who managed to stay in contact with him after college
a former enemy he reconciled with
grudge-a person who is still angry at him because he didn't go to jamie's funeral and they never had the opportunity to work through their frustration towards him
unresolved romantic feelings-maddox has always tried to avoid serious monogomous relationships. he hates commitment and thinks romantic relationships are destined to end badly. when he started to have romantic feelings towards this person in college he either avoided them or did everything he could to sabotage their friendship
ex-this person got maddox to break his unoffical no dating rule. they could be amicable exes or their relationship could have ended badly
former friends with benefits
former roommate

What was the fic concept that ended up not being workable?
I've had several, but the one I was probably talking about most recently was an attempt to do a Fusion-AU between Worm and NBC's The Blacklist (which has at least 3 good seasons. I dropped out early Season 4, so I don't know where it goes. I hear... things about later seasons, but I don't know about the middle) (If you're familiar with the premise of that show, you'll see the parallels here in the premise)
The idea was to adapt the story of the first episode of the Blacklist to a Wormish verse as the oneshot, leave it open for more later.
The premise would have been in a world were parahuman powers were a bit more low-key, or at least, generally were (Also no Endbringers or Scion). Less OP powers too, generally.
Victoria Dallon is recently divorced (from Dean. I actually like Dean, but the story I wanted worked better if he was out of the picture) and crashing at her sister's place in DC. Victoria is Glory Girl/Polaris, and Amy is still Panacea. Victoria's 'day job' is a field agent for the PRT. She gets called in on her first day not to her normal investigative position, but a new task force.
Anne-Rose Weaver, international criminal mastermind with the power to control bugs, has turned herself in, but is saying she'll only talk to Victoria Dallon. So a small task force led by Assistant Director for Parahuman Terrorism Emily Piggot and Hannah Washington (AKA Miss Militia when in costume) as the leader of the OG Weaver Task Force is now handling her.
Weaver (who is Taylor, but no one has linked her to that name yet, but Victoria does feel like Weaver looks oddly familiar) says that the daughter of General Tagg is going to be kidnapped shortly by Victor, a former Empire 88/Former Geselleschaft cape gone rogue. She wants Victor dealt with, they want Victor dealt with, their interests align.
The story started to fall apart as I tried to both stick to the general trajectory of the OG episode and also have things account for parahuman powers better. Amy was supposed to get abducted and pretty badly hurt.
(There's also a bit early on in the one-shot about Amy's string of bad relationships ever since her HS gf 'Taylor' vanished right after graduation, but Amy is really looking forward to introducing her latest girlfriend, Cherie Vasil, to Victoria, because she really thinks this one will last.)
Amy would be recovered, Victor dealt with, and Weaver would reveal she has a whole list of criminals, parahuman and otherwise, that the Federal government doesn't, in many cases, even know exist and she wants to cut a deal to start turning them in. But she'll only tell those names to Victoria Dallon.
The oneshot would have ended with Victoria finding an old picture of Amy and her gf Taylor Hebert... and realizing that Weaver is Taylor.
(The loose backstory I had established so far was that Marquis had stolen something or acquired something that could have outed Cauldron - which in this verse would have been akin to the 'Cabal' of the Blacklist, shadowy international conspiracy of intelligence officers, criminals and other elites that Reddington, the MC of the Blacklist, had blackmail info on, or claimed to, anyway - and somehow Amy inherited it, but didn't know. Taylor somehow finds out, somehow gets her hands on that thing or at least makes Cauldron think she has it, and goes off and builds her international criminal empire to give her the resources to protect Amy from Cauldron if she had to. Weaver is turning herself in now because of some other enemy she's dealing with - who would have been eventually revealed to be Lung, filling the same role as Berlin from the OG show - and Lung had someone connected Weaver to Amy Dallon... and had hired Cherie Vasil to be a spy on Amy to figure out the nature of the connection and potentially leverage that against Weaver)
The idea also ran into issues of a shortage of certain types of characters in Worm to repurpose for the AU, so I ran into the question of if I should start bringing in Blacklist characters to fill certain roles or not. And the oneshot got to 10k words at the halfway point when I realized the whole thing wouldn't work, even as the oneshot. The idea still has some merit, but I'd have to do a lot more legwork to make it work than I was prepared to do. Come up with some original baddies in a lot of cases, which - I'm not actually good at writing procedural type stories, which is still a lot of what's happening in the Blacklist day to day - and some other stuff.

Pairing: Alex Blake x Fem!Reader
Warnings: slight alcohol consumption ig
Genre: pure fluff
Word Count: 1800+
A/N: Last day of the bingo!! This fic covers the "flower petals" square. For the purpose of this fic Ethan is alive and well, Alex deserves to be happy. Absolutely UNEDITED. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
It was going to be perfect; you had no doubts about it.
You’ve spent weeks planning this evening, making sure everything would go according to the plan and it just so happened that the universe aligned itself with your plans. Alex didn’t get called away on another case, promising you she’d return home right when her workday was over. Ethan was spending the week with his dad, and although you’d love nothing more than having the little boy included in this special moment, knowing him well enough you were sure he wouldn’t be able to contain his excitement and keep the secret. He was 8 after all.
It was your day off at Georgetown. Most Fridays you opted to work from home as you didn’t teach any classes, but this time you took an extra precaution of actually booking the day off to make sure you didn’t get called in any meetings with your students.
The morning was reserved for a trip to the farmer’s market. You picked up a few ingredients necessary for the dinner you have planned. A few aubergines, butternut squash, asparagus and fresh strawberries, the rest could be found at home. You were walking down the busy alleys, the sun shining through the clouds filled the city with warmth unusual for this time of year, but you didn’t complain, stopping by another stand to pick out a gorgeous assortment of red, white and pink peonies, one of Alex’s favourite flowers.
Strolling down the streets of Washington DC, you made a few more stops on your way home.
You stopped by a frequented by you and Alex wine cellar, picking up a few bottles of Pinot Noir, after asking the seller countless number of times whether he’s absolutely certain that the wine will pair well with the dinner you have planned.
The last stop was Cartier, were you finally got to pick up the ring you customised a few weeks prior. The golden band was adorned with diamonds, a beautiful tear-shaped stone in the middle. It was pretty simple, classy for that matter, and in your opinion absolutely perfect for Alex.
You made your way back home, after unpacking the shopping you immediately got to work. You pulled out all the decorations you have stashed them deep inside your closet when Alex was away on cases, starting with setting the table, a white tablecloth covered the wooden furniture, flowing off of the edges just right. You put a set of golden candle holders in the middle, placing the candles in their corresponding spots. You attached a few strings of warm lights to the window curtains, hoping they would enhance the atmosphere of the evening.
After that, you finally got to assembling the peony bouquets, taking out a few flowers to lay them on the table. The rest went into decorative vases you placed in the vicinity of the table, replacing previously given to you by your girlfriend irises. Although as a result of time (and your forgetfulness when it came to keeping flowers alive), the bouquets were rather dried out, you didn’t throw them away, but moved them to your bedroom. For an unknown to you reason Alex was adamant on keeping them until they were fully dry, then getting rid of them herself.
After the whole setup was finished, you started with preparing the main course: Butternut Squash Ravioli with Seared Chicken, handmaking the pasta that was to be filled with a butternut squash and ricotta filling, a recipe Rossi provided you with after your endless begging and pleading for it. When the raviolis were done (you did check with the Italian man whether the pasta was properly shaped), ready to be cooked right before the linguists planned arrival, you set them aside to start working on the dessert, cheesecake filled strawberries. You set those aside in the fridge and with a little time to spare you got to making the starter, an Aubergine Tartar.
With all the food either ready or ready to be cooked when the time comes, you started on getting yourself ready. You took a quick shower, after which, feeling refreshed and ready, you got to putting your makeup on. You decided on a natural eyeshadow, enhanced by your eyeliner and red lipstick. The clothing of your choice was a little black dress, one of Alex’s favourites, one that hugged your curves perfectly in all the right places. You put on a pair of black heels, a pearl necklace and matching to it earrings.
Looking at the time, you were certain the linguist might walk through the door any minute now, so you rushed to light up the candles and turn on the window lights, dimming all other lighting in the room. You put on Alex’s favourite playlist, one full of classics, setting the atmosphere perfect for what was about to come.
The last thing to be done was placing the ring in a case you prepared yourself. You opted for something more personalised than a simple box. You got one of Alex’s favourite novels, the one she would never admit is one of her favourites, Persuasion by Jane Austen. You carefully cut a heart shape through the pages up to page 148, where you highlighted the words “I”, “love” and “you” and hung the ring on a piece of ribbon so that it would sit amongst the highlighted text, although now thinking about it you were worried that you might give her a heart attack, so you made a mental note to reassure the brunette that her beloved copy is still safe and sound on her bookshelf. You decorated the book with a red ribbon, tying in in a perfect bow that sat right in the centre of the cover.
You placed the book on the table next to the couch, making it easy to reach when the moment for you to gift it to your hopefully soon-to-be fiancé would come.
Just as you were done setting everything up you heard the familiar sound of clattering keys outside of your apartment. You quickly rushed away from the small table, heading towards the kitchen. Just as Alex entered the apartment you managed to open the wine you purchased earlier today and pour some for the two of you, leaving the glasses on the kitchen island.
“Welcome home.” you said heading towards the older woman. God was she ever so beautiful, you must admit you had a soft spot for all her suits, and despite the tiring workday behind her she still looked as stunning as ever.
She softly smiled at you, taking her coat and shoes off before heading deeper into the apartment. You placed a gentle kiss on her cheek before taking her hand in yours
“Is there something I’m forgetting?” she questioned taking in the surroundings, the room was lit by the dimmed light coming from the fairy lights hung on the curtains, accompanied by the warm light of the candles. “I’m pretty sure our anniversary isn’t until February?”
“Can’t a girl treat her girlfriend to a nice dinner after a long day at work?” you replied with a sly smile, picking up the wine glasses and handing one to Alex.
“I guess she can.” The linguist replied, placing a kiss on your cheek.
“Come, you relax and I’ll have the food plated.”
Alex did just as you asked, taking a seat at the table, you served the starter and took your seat as well. The two of you chatted over the food, Alex catching you up on all the recent cases as well as the typical BAU “drama”. You laughed together while you served her the main course, now definitely knowing you’ve fully exposed your cooking skills and there was no way back.
“I have a feeling there is more to this than just an after-work dinner?” she asked with a smile plastered across her face.
“You’d be right about that my love.” You giggled as you stood up from your seat. “Seen right through me, wouldn’t expect any less from a profiler.” You added with a grin, walking towards the little table the novel was resting on. You took the book in your hands, heading back towards the linguist who was still sitting at the table. “I got you a little something,”
She took the book in her hands, carefully examining the cover, tracing her fingers over the indented feathers scattered across it. She gently untied the ribbon, taking in the beauty of the limited edition of the novel when she whispered “How did you find it?”
“I have my sources.” you replied with the utmost adoration for the woman sitting in front of you. “I think you should open it.”
Alex did just as you asked, her eyes widening at what was hidden inside. “I-… are you-“ She looked up from the book to see you down on one knee right in front of her.
“Alex Blake, will you marry me?”
“Oh my god.” she whispered, still not fully believing what was happening. “Yes, god yes!” she added, cupping your cheeks in her hands and placing one of the softest yet most passionate kisses on your lips.
You giggled into the kiss, wrapping your arms around her waist and pulling her even closer to you. When you finally pulled away you could see her eyes glistening with tears of happiness, you untangled the ring from the ribbon that was holding it, sliding it onto her finger.
She carefully wiped the stray tears that escaped her eyes, her face still painted with that beautiful smile of hers, when she spoke again. “Give me one moment.” Alex said before she ran off to your bedroom.
The woman came back holding what looked like a glass vase filled with something you couldn’t quite recognise and a little black box. She walked up to you, setting the items on the table in front of you.
Looking up at you, she took one of your hands into her embrace. “I um… These are the petals from all the flowers we’ve ever gotten for each other, you’ve been always asking me why I’m so adamant on getting rid of them myself so I think it’s time to give you an answer now.” The older woman chuckled slightly as she kept explaining. “From our first date I knew I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I thought this will be a nice addition, the petals representing the whole length of our relationship being thrown down as we walk down the aisle.”
“Alex… I-“ it was time for you to start tearing up, the smile not leaving your face.
“Now I know you beat me to it,” she whispered, picking up the small black box off the table “But will you marry me?”
The tears were now freely falling down your cheeks as you looked in her beautiful hazel eyes. “God, you know I will!”
It was now Alex’s turn to slide the ring onto your finger. Although this wasn’t exactly the turn of events you expected you couldn’t be happier. You get to spend the rest of your life with her by your side after all.

George Washington University in Washington DC on Tuesday became the third private university in the United States to suspend its Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter, citing the group’s unauthorized projection of pro-Hamas messages on a library named after deceased Jewish supporters of the school as cause.
The news was first reported by The GW Hatchet, a campus newspaper, which added that the suspension has two phases, first a 90-day period in which SJP is banned from sponsoring and holding events on campus, and a second, beginning on Feb. 12, 2024 and lasting for the remainder of the academic year, in which the university will “continue to restrict” its activities.
“GW is continuously proving, as they have proven time and time again for many, many years, that they will always align with the Zionist lobby and against the right to free speech and the right to assembly of their own students,” a representative for SJP, whom the paper granted anonymity, told the Hatchet, accusing the school of “repressive tactics” and vowing that the group will seek ways to circumvent its suspension.
Two other universities have suspended their SJP chapters. On Friday, Columbia announced that it had suspended SJP and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) as official student groups on campus through the end of the fall semester. Days earlier, Brandeis University in Massachusetts revoked recognition of its chapter of SJP over its support for Hamas, saying that its decision “was not made lightly, as Brandeis is dedicated to upholding free speech principles.”
George Washington University Students for Justice in Palestine has been battling the school’s administration to push the boundaries of its campus activities since Hamas’ terror invasion of Israel on Oct. 7, an attack that resulted in over 1,200 deaths of mostly civilians including incidents of rape and torture.
Five days after the attack, President Ellen Granberg censured in strong terms any support on campus for the war crimes Hamas committed, acts that SJP had cheered during numerous demonstrations.

2023 Scorpio New Moon
Monday, November 13, 09:27 UT, 20°44’ Scorpio Chart erected for Washington, DC
Tumblr media
The key phrase for the New lunar phase is “set a new intention for the month.” I usually advise people to keep it small - something they feel they can successfully pull off in one month’s time. But this is one New Moon where I think we can push ourselves successfully. Go for it.
Alongside the Sun and Moon are the planet Mars and the Lady Asteroid Ceres. Both of them are quite comfortable in Scorpio! This may be a little too intense for some folks.
Whichever house this stellium falls in, is in need of some powerful phoenix energy. We need to burst out from the ashes (maybe the rubble from the last eclipses?) in triumph.
There’s a tight opposition to Uranus, and a wider trine to Neptune and a wider sextile to Pluto. It’s a good opportunity to get ourselves better aligned with The Cosmos. There’s a strong emphasis on authenticity and integrity. It’s easier to live up to our ideals, than we think it is.

The President,
  Washington, D.C.
Sir:
The District of Columbia Branch, National Association for the Advancement of colored People, numbering upwards of 7,000 members in the District of Columbia, respectfully invites your attention to the attached clipping from the Washington Post giving authoritative figures for lynchings in the United States for the past six months.  Issued at a time when it appears that the fury of the German blow may fall at any time upon American troops, these figures will not be happy reading to the thousand of colored Americans whose sons and brothers will help to stem this blow.  A people less loyal than those represented by this Association would ask many questions upon reading these figures.  They would ask if it were worth while to send their sons and brothers to make the world safe for democracy when America, their home, is not safe for them; if the lynching of women is a fair sample of the treatment they may expect from the nation which was (and rightfully) shocked beyond expression by the execution of Miss Cavell; if this great government really includes them in its laudable program for world betterment.  Finally, they would want to know if the President, speaking the demands of this country for freedom for the oppressed peoples of distant lands, either knew or cared whether his words were being compared by the civilized world with the attached record of unpunished and unrebuked lawlessness.
This Association believes, Mr. President, that you owe it to

yourself to express your disapprobation pf the lynching of colored men and women.  We gather from the press that you are to deliver a speech on the 4th of July.  May we suggest that this would be a fitting time to include in your remarks some assurance of your belief that the lynching of colored people should no longer be tolerated in this country.
                                                                             Respectfully.
