I've seen many people say Alicent walking away from Aegon, as well as other scenes of her failing to comfort her kids is her "lacking empathy" or something along those lines
I've seen a lot of people say that empathy is a basic human trait, and that "anyone" would've gone to him and provided some form of comfort (e.g hugging, apologising, etc.)
NEED people to recognise that not everyone shows empathy the same way. That not everyone recieves empathy in the same way. There are many reasons to as why Alicent walked away, 1. Maybe she was worried she would only make things worse. 2. maybe she thought he preferred to be left alone.
We can see very clearly the emotions of pain on her face. She wants to help but doesn't know how, she's not really close with her children. So she doesn't know if her providing him comfort by hugging/her presence in the room with him would make things better or worse. E.g, myself- I love my friends and family dearly but sometimes when I'm grieving I need to be left alone and someone coming to talk/hug/be with me, regardless if their intention is to help, will honestly make things worse than better.
There is no one way to show empathy nor one way to receive empathy. I don't think it's fair for people to say this about Alicent when we don't know at all if it would've helped. In my opinion it's a very black and white view of something that is an extremely complex thing.
Grief isn't the same for everyone. Comfort from others isn't always the answer to grief. Grief can be shown in many forms.
It reminds me of how Helaena got a lot of hate after the b&c scene, and people saying she had no empathy/care for her children due to her reaction. Not everyone reacts the same to these things. If you would kick and scream that's valid, but people, like Helaena who would dissociate from shock and trauma are valid as well.
We're all completely different individuals, billions of us. We all experience things and show things different. Just because we may experience things differently, doesn't mean we are lacking of empathy.
In my opinion, the only people who fail to have empathy are the ones who cannot comprehend this.

the reason why i don't think blood & cheese works without maelor is because it undermines the gravity of helaena's choice
in the books, as we all know, she has to choose which son to sacrifice. blood & cheese are going to kill one either way, so, whatever happens, if you want to get cynical about it, aegon will still be left with a male heir of his body. no, the horribleness of the choice lies not really in dynastic matters, but in basic humanity: which of your children are you willing to condemn to death? and helaena truly does try to make the best out of a bad situation, she picks not because she loves jaehaerys more, but because maelor is so tiny that she hopes he won't understand what's going to happen to him.
and she absolutely has to choose, because b&c threaten to rape her daughter if she doesn't. it's psychological torture. b&c just want to fuck her up in the head as much as possible and helaena tries her goddamnest to minimize the harm done to her family. to further compound on the tragedy, b&c kill the opposite child, so now she has to live out the rest of her days knowing that the son left alive is the son SHE herself marked for the axe. which is what understandably drives her to lose her mind
now, in the show, the "problem" blood & cheese have doesn't exist at all: that they can't supposedly tell the twins apart. but (as awful as it sounds, since it involves sexual assault) they could very easily check which child has male genitalia and be done with it. it's a "problem" that takes literal seconds to solve. they don't need helaena at all! it becomes irrelevant which child she points towards - b&c can always just check! she can't save jaehaerys in this situation no matter what she does, because b&c were never interested in jaehaera in the first place. in the books, she has the ability to save one child and this exact horrible "agency" bestowed on her torments her for the rest of her days. in the show, even had she pointed towards jaehaera, it would have been a narrative plot hole for the writers to have killed her without checking
likewise, in the books, she begs them to kill her instead, but, in the show, she offers them a necklace? you can't deny that the dramatic stakes are lowered substantially by making that change. which one of these options would have been more filled with pathos? personally, it just feels like this was phia's moment to shine and, while she did a good job with what she had, every narrative choice was somehow made to subdue this horrible event and left her only crumbs to work with. cinematically-speaking, this scene (as it was executed) does not even come close to the iconic moments that cemented GoT into the collective consciousness, which is very strange, as the subject matter is anything but mediocre
and that's not even getting into the rest of the plot holes that others have already pointed out, like:
- why are there no guards at helaena's door or anywhere else for that matter? not just on that hallway, but on many other hallways, she has to run quite a lot to get to alicent's chambers
- why is her room unlocked at the very least
- why is ALICENT's room unlocked, for that matter? she is having secret guilty sex with criston and she forgets to lock her door in a castle full of spies? anyone could have walked in
- not even getting into this whole thing just being one huge misunderstanding + minimizing daemon's and mysaria's roles :))
- NOT EVEN mentioning removing the trauma of alicent witnessing all of this, gagged and bound on her own bed, not being able to help or intervene in any way
i can understand the likelihood of these elements happening sometimes (maybe someone does forget to lock their door from time to time, maybe a guard does shirk their duties from time to time), but you can't write all of them at once without it turning all looney tunes. if you introduce too many aspects that defy logic in your story, it ceases to be believable and just becomes bad writing
___________________________________________
also, "they killed <the boy>"? not "my son" or "jaehaerys"? it sounds so removed, don't you think? helaena out there on her mother's floor dropping exposition for the audience 🥲

Hey again! 😃 Ok, so I've got 4 requests for you (since now it's 1K words per person).
I was thinking of some "lost" scenes from that Alicent fic I requested, but this time it's about the Reader's bond with each of his children.
With Aegon - A scene in which R catches Aegon drunk after a night out, and pulls him aside to listen to his concerns about fulfilling his duties and being responsible in general. Reader remains understanding and tells Aegon that no matter how old he gets, he can always count on his help, but that he has to find his way on his own (Aegon looks more closely at his father and sets him as an example of how a prince/king should behave.
With Helaena - A scene in which Reader takes her to Essos for a trip to a jungle (idk if there exists jungles in Essos, but let's pretend they do) on a quest to find more exotic bugs. Should be fun and playful! Maybe R trips over a root and lands on his bum, and that's what makes his darling daughter laugh so much.
With Aemond - That one scene after he gets gifted with "The Pink Dread". The Reader comforts him and even dares to tell him that should he have had a pink(ish) dragon, that's the nickname that he would bestow upon it (think of how people would expect TPD to be some small creature - yes, like a pig - but no, it's a FRIGGIN' DRAGON! 😂😂😂). Also, R mentions how he sees a lot of himself in Aemond (particularly related to his own youth).
With Daeron - The scene where he visits him in Oldtown and where R goes all buddy-buddy with Gwayne (one of the only sane guys in HoTD, I swear). Daeron impresses R with his musical skills and takes him to see Tessarion (who is happy to play the part of a big puppy - like rolling around on its back and bearing its belly to get free scratches 😉).
Where Dragons Dare (Lost Chapters)
- Summary: Unrecorded moments with each of your children, that no Maester will ever write about.
- Paring: father!reader/targ!children (platonic)
- Note: Since this was regarding your previous request that was turned into three part series, I've made an exception for you. Enjoy. ❤️
- Rating: Mild 13+
- Previous part: 3/3

You stride through the torchlit corridors of the Red Keep, the evening air heavy with the scent of incense and wine from the feast held in your honor. A king’s life is one of constant vigilance, not only for the realm but also for your own blood. The weight of your crown and responsibilities settles upon your shoulders, the unspoken burdens of the Iron Throne. It is a life you have come to accept.
But not everyone does.
The clink of armor catches your attention, and you hear a hushed voice speaking to one of the guards near the side entrance. You already know what you will find before you round the corner. Aegon—your eldest son, your heir—is once again trying to sneak into the keep after a night in the lower city. His form, slightly slouched, leaning against the doorway, makes it clear that his night's indulgences have taken their toll.
You sigh softly, but there is no malice in it. This is not the first time. It won’t be the last.
"Aegon," your voice, even and steady, cuts through the stillness of the night, causing your son to stiffen. He turns slowly, his eyes glassy, yet there is a flicker of recognition. His silver hair, unkempt, falls into his face as he gives you a sheepish smile, one that reminds you so much of his mother when she tries to conceal her worries.
"Father," he mumbles, straightening himself as much as his state will allow. He’s a prince of the blood, but in this moment, he looks like nothing more than a wayward boy caught in the act.
"Walk with me," you say simply, motioning for him to follow. There's no need for a reprimand, not yet. You both know where this conversation is headed. You step into the open air, out onto one of the quieter terraces that overlook the city below.
Aegon follows, his steps slightly uneven, but he doesn't protest. The two of you stand there for a moment, the distant sounds of King's Landing below humming in the background. The city never truly sleeps, much like a king’s responsibilities.
After a while, you glance at him from the corner of your eye. "You’ve been out drinking again."
Aegon leans on the stone balustrade, staring at the lights flickering in the darkness. "It’s not like anyone missed me," he mutters, his voice heavy with bitterness. "I’m no good at all this. What does it matter?"
"It matters because you’re the future king," you reply, your tone calm but firm. "Your actions don’t only reflect on yourself; they reflect on the crown, on our family."
At this, Aegon snorts softly, his lip curling into a sardonic smile. "Aegon the Unready, that’s what they’ll call me," he mutters, almost to himself. "They all expect me to be like you. I’ll never be that. I can barely stand the weight of their stares, let alone a crown."
There is silence for a moment, broken only by the distant sounds of the city below. The firelight dances across the sharp planes of your son’s face, making him seem older than he is, and yet still so young. You can see the weight of expectation, the fear of failure, all of it etched into his features.
You step closer, resting a hand on his shoulder, the familiar comfort of a father’s touch. "I wasn’t always certain either," you admit, the words carrying the weight of your own journey to the throne. "When I was young, I doubted myself just as you do now."
Aegon looks at you, surprise flickering in his eyes. It’s rare for you to speak of your own vulnerabilities. You are the king—stoic, dutiful, unwavering. But tonight, you let that mask slip, if only for your son.
"You don’t need to be me," you say quietly. "You need to find your own way. Being king isn’t about perfection. It’s about responsibility, about understanding that you carry the hopes and fears of an entire realm on your shoulders. And yes, sometimes it’s heavy. But that’s why we’re here—to bear it, so others don’t have to."
Aegon’s gaze falls to the ground, his fingers tapping nervously against the stone railing. "I’m not sure I can," he admits after a long silence, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don’t want to fail you."
Your heart clenches at the vulnerability in his words, the rawness of his fear. You step closer, turning to face him fully. "You won’t," you say firmly. "Not as long as you’re willing to try. You will make mistakes, we all do, but that’s part of the journey. You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here, Aegon, always."
His eyes meet yours, and for the first time in a long while, you see not just the rebellion, not just the stubbornness, but the uncertainty and the longing for approval. He is so much like you were at his age, fighting against the very things that would one day define him.
"You’ve always been there for me," he says, his voice softer now, more introspective. "I just…I don’t want to be a disappointment."
"You’re not," you reply, without hesitation. "And you never will be. You will grow into this role, just as I did, just as many before us have. But it takes time. You will find your way, but you must be willing to take the first steps. Recklessness won’t serve you well when you sit on the throne."
Aegon nods, swallowing hard. He’s listening now, really listening. You can feel the shift in him, the internal battle as he begins to process your words. His posture relaxes just slightly, and he looks at you with a newfound respect.
"I look at you," he says quietly, "and I see what a king should be. You always know what to do. How did you learn?"
You smile faintly, the memories of your own trials and lessons flickering in your mind. "By making mistakes. By learning from them. And by trusting in those who love me. You’ll learn too, Aegon. But you have to start by taking responsibility for your actions. If you want to be a good king, you have to be a good man first."
He nods again, more resolutely this time. There’s still doubt in his eyes, but also something else—a spark of determination, a glimmer of hope.
"I’ll try," he says, the words holding more weight than any drunken apology ever could.
"I know you will," you reply, squeezing his shoulder one last time before stepping back. "But for now, let’s get you to bed. You can begin to prove yourself tomorrow."
As you guide your son back into the castle, you feel the familiar pull of duty and love intertwine within you. The road ahead will not be easy for Aegon, just as it wasn’t easy for you. But tonight, at least, a small part of that path has been cleared, and your son—your heir—is beginning to take his first steps toward the man he will one day become.
The warm, humid air of the jungle clings to your skin as you lead Helaena through the dense foliage, her excitement as palpable as the buzz of insects that fills the air around you. She’s always been different from her siblings—quiet, introspective, but with a mind that sees wonders where others see only the mundane. Today, her joy is infectious, and as you glance over your shoulder, you see her eyes wide with fascination, darting from tree to tree in search of her beloved bugs.
"Father, look!" she exclaims, her voice bright with enthusiasm. She crouches down, her slender fingers delicately picking up a beetle with iridescent wings, the colors shifting from emerald to sapphire in the dappled sunlight that pierces through the canopy above.
You smile at her, marveling at how her joy lights up the whole forest, making even the most alien surroundings feel like home. "That’s a beautiful one," you say, stepping closer to inspect her latest find. "What do you suppose it eats?"
Helaena tilts her head, her eyes narrowing in concentration as she watches the beetle crawl over her hand. "I think it feeds on nectar from the flowers," she muses, "or maybe the sap from the trees. Look at the way its legs move—so delicate, but strong."
You crouch beside her, nodding as you study the small creature. "You could be right. You always know more about these things than I do." Your tone is light, teasing, but there’s truth in your words. Helaena’s understanding of the natural world has always been beyond her years, her connection to it deep and mysterious.
The two of you continue your journey deeper into the jungle, the air growing thicker with the scent of damp earth and blooming flowers. Vines drape lazily from towering trees, and the occasional call of a bird echoes in the distance. Helaena moves with purpose, her gaze constantly scanning the ground, the trees, the air above for any new creatures she hasn’t yet discovered.
"Do you think there are bugs in Essos that no one in Westeros has ever seen?" she asks suddenly, her voice filled with a childlike wonder that makes you smile.
"I’m sure of it," you reply, pushing aside a low-hanging branch to let her pass. "That’s why we came here, isn’t it? To find something new, something no one’s ever written about in their tomes or sung about in their songs. Maybe you’ll discover the most magnificent bug the world’s ever seen."
Helaena beams up at you, her lavender eyes shimmering with excitement. "And I’ll name it after you," she says with a giggle, skipping ahead a few paces. "A beetle, maybe, or a butterfly—something regal."
You chuckle at the thought, shaking your head. "I can’t think of anything less regal than a bug named after me. But if anyone could make it sound important, it’s you."
The laughter between the two of you echoes through the trees, light and easy, as you continue on your way. You’re not following any particular path—there are no roads here, no guides to lead you. Just the two of you, father and daughter, on an adventure through the wilds of Essos.
As you step over a moss-covered log, you glance back at Helaena to see her crouching low again, examining a cluster of bright red flowers. Her fascination with the natural world has always been a source of pride for you, something that sets her apart in a family so often consumed by politics and power. Out here, in the quiet of the jungle, she’s in her element.
You’re so focused on her that you don’t notice the thick root winding through the underbrush until it’s too late. Your foot catches, and before you can catch yourself, you’re tumbling forward, arms flailing as you lose your balance. You hit the ground with a soft thud, landing squarely on your backside.
For a moment, there’s silence. Then—
Helaena bursts into laughter, the sound bright and musical, like the ringing of silver bells. She clutches her sides, doubling over as the laughter shakes her small frame, tears forming at the corners of her eyes.
"Father!" she manages to gasp between fits of giggles. "You—you tripped on a root!"
You sit there for a moment, stunned, before letting out a laugh of your own. "Apparently, your father is no match for a jungle root," you say, shaking your head as you sit up, brushing leaves from your clothes. "I was so busy watching you, I forgot to watch where I was going."
Helaena, still laughing, steps over to you and offers a hand, her grin wide and infectious. "Here, let me help you up, Father. You’ve fallen in the dirt like one of your regal bugs."
You take her hand, letting her pull you to your feet, though it’s more symbolic than anything—she’s small and slender, and you mostly stand up on your own. Still, the gesture warms your heart, and you smile down at her.
"I suppose even kings can fall every now and then," you say, brushing off the last of the dirt from your breeches. "Especially when they’re distracted by a daughter who’s far too clever for her own good."
Helaena’s laughter finally subsides, though her smile remains, bright and full of affection. "I’m just glad I was here to see it," she says, her voice teasing but sweet. "I’ll have to remember this next time Aegon or Aemond try to act all serious."
You raise an eyebrow at her, unable to stop the grin spreading across your face. "Oh? Are you planning on using this against me?"
She shrugs, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Maybe. It depends on how much I need to bargain with them next time."
The two of you share another laugh, and the moment feels light, easy—like the weight of the crown and the responsibilities you both bear have been left far behind in Westeros, forgotten in the simplicity of a jungle trek and shared laughter.
As you continue walking, you let Helaena lead, her steps more confident now as she moves through the underbrush. The jungle is alive with sound—chirping insects, rustling leaves, the distant calls of unseen animals—and you find yourself marveling at how small and vast the world can feel all at once.
"Father," Helaena says after a while, her tone more thoughtful now, "thank you for bringing me here. I know there are more important things you could be doing back home, but…this means a lot to me."
You smile at her, feeling a swell of pride and affection. "There’s nothing more important than spending time with you, Helaena. The realm can wait a few days. Besides, I think we’ve both learned something valuable today—like how to avoid tree roots."
She giggles again, but there’s warmth in her eyes, the kind of warmth that makes you realize just how precious these moments are. The crown may be heavy, the throne demanding, but here, in the jungles of Essos, it’s just you and your daughter, sharing an adventure neither of you will ever forget.
"Now," you say, clapping your hands together as you glance around at the trees towering above, "shall we see what other exotic bugs we can find? Maybe one that doesn’t involve me falling on my backside this time?"
Helaena grins, her face lighting up with renewed excitement. "Let’s!" she says, darting ahead into the greenery, her laughter trailing behind her as you follow, ready for whatever adventure lies ahead.
The halls of the Red Keep seemed quieter than usual today. It was a rare stillness, the kind that hung heavy with unspoken tension. You could sense something had happened, though no one had yet brought it to your attention. You had spent much of the afternoon in the library, pouring over old maps of the Narrow Sea, but something in the air felt wrong.
As you rounded the corner toward the private wing where your children’s chambers lay, you heard faint sniffling. The sound was quiet, but unmistakable. You quickened your pace and followed the sound until you found Aemond, sitting alone on the cold stone floor, his knees pulled up to his chest, arms wrapped tightly around them. His face was buried, but even from this distance, you could tell he had been crying.
"Aemond?" you called softly, kneeling beside him. "What’s happened?"
Aemond looked up at you, and your heart sank at the sight of his tear-streaked face. His usual stern, stoic expression was gone, replaced by vulnerability, the kind only a young boy trying so hard to be a man could wear.
"It’s nothing, Father," he muttered, wiping furiously at his eyes, though the gesture did little to hide the redness.
You sit beside him, resting a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Something has upset you, and I would like to know what it is."
For a moment, Aemond says nothing, as if weighing whether or not to burden you with whatever weighs on him. But eventually, his resolve crumbles, and he sighs, his voice barely above a whisper. "It’s them. Jace, Luke...and Aegon. They—they played a trick on me."
You feel a tightening in your chest. You had heard rumblings before of the teasing that occasionally happened between your sons and your sister Rhaenyra’s sons, but this felt different. There was something more painful in Aemond’s voice.
"What kind of trick?" you ask gently, though you already have a sinking suspicion about what might have occurred.
Aemond’s cheeks flush with shame as he looks away. "They—they told me they had a dragon for me," he begins slowly, each word weighed with embarrassment. "I’ve always wanted one, and I thought… maybe this time…"
His voice trails off, and you feel your heart break for him. You know how much Aemond has longed for a dragon of his own, how he watches his siblings and cousins with their dragons, envy and longing etched into his every glance.
"They said it was waiting for me," he continues, his voice shaking. "So I went to the dragon pit. I was so excited, Father. I thought—maybe, finally—" His breath hitches as fresh tears well in his eyes, but he quickly wipes them away, trying to be strong.
"And then I saw it," he says bitterly. "A pig. They dressed up a pig and called it the 'Pink Dread.' They were all laughing, all of them, even Aegon."
A cold anger flares in your chest at the cruelty of the prank. You can picture it all too easily: Aegon and the boys snickering behind Aemond’s back as he approached the animal, thinking, for one precious moment, that his dream had finally come true. You know how deeply this would have cut Aemond, how much it hurt him to be humiliated in front of his family. But for now, you push that anger aside. This moment is about Aemond, not them.
"Come here," you say softly, pulling Aemond into your arms. He resists at first, too proud to cry in front of you, but after a moment, he lets himself lean into you, his small frame trembling as he clutches at your tunic.
You stroke his hair, the familiar silver strands soft beneath your fingers. "I’m sorry that happened to you, Aemond," you whisper, your voice full of warmth and understanding. "That was cruel, and you didn’t deserve it."
He pulls back slightly, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. "They all have dragons," he says, his voice thick with frustration. "Why not me? Why am I the only one without one?"
You take a deep breath, feeling the weight of his question. "Sometimes, life doesn’t seem fair," you say honestly. "It can feel like the things we want most are the things we’re denied, no matter how hard we wish for them."
Aemond looks up at you, his eyes still glistening with unshed tears. "But one day, Aemond," you continue, your voice full of quiet conviction, "you will have a dragon of your own. I know it. And when you do, you’ll be a better rider than any of them, because you’ve waited. You’ve longed for it. That’s something they’ll never understand."
He listens intently, his shoulders relaxing slightly as your words settle in. "And you know," you add with a smile, "if you ever did have a dragon that was pink, you could give it a name far more fitting than they ever imagined."
Aemond blinks at you, confusion flickering across his face. "What do you mean?"
You lean in conspiratorially, a playful grin tugging at your lips. "Think about it. A pink dragon, breathing fire, soaring over the battlefield. No one would laugh then. And you could call it the 'Pink Dread'—a name that would strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. They would hear it and tremble, knowing what it meant."
For the first time, a small smile pulls at Aemond’s lips. The idea takes root in his mind, and you can see his imagination sparking to life. "The Pink Dread," he murmurs, as if testing the words. "That… that would be funny. No one would laugh at a pink dragon breathing fire."
You nod, your heart warming at the sight of his growing confidence. "Exactly. They may laugh now, but one day, you’ll be the one laughing."
Aemond looks up at you, his blue eyes searching yours, and for a moment, you see a younger version of yourself reflected in him. The same yearning, the same fierce determination to prove oneself, the same frustration at being left behind while others surged ahead. You had been that boy once, trying to find your place, trying to prove you were worthy.
"I see a lot of myself in you, Aemond," you say softly, your voice filled with quiet pride. "When I was your age, I often felt the same way. I watched others get what I longed for, and it made me feel… less. But it didn’t stay that way forever. And it won’t for you either."
Aemond frowns slightly, looking down at the ground. "You were like me?"
You chuckle softly, ruffling his hair. "More than you might think. I wasn’t always so sure of myself. It takes time, but you’ll find your way, Aemond. You’ll grow into your own, just like I did. And when you do, there will be no one more capable than you."
Aemond’s small smile widens slightly, the last traces of tears fading from his eyes. "I’ll remember that, Father," he says, a quiet strength returning to his voice.
You wrap your arm around his shoulders, pulling him close. "You are strong, Aemond. Stronger than you know. And one day, the world will see that too."
As you sit there with him, the warmth of the Red Keep surrounding you both, you know that the sting of today’s prank will fade, but the lessons Aemond is learning now—about resilience, about strength, about finding his place in the world—will shape him into the man he will one day become. And you will be there, guiding him, as he grows into the prince, and the dragonrider, you know he is destined to be.
It had been far too long since you’d visited Oldtown, and the excitement of seeing Daeron again filled you with anticipation. His letters had spoken highly of his time here, his training, and how much he had grown, but there was nothing quite like seeing it for yourself.
The familiar scent of saltwater from the Whispering Sound mixed with the spices and perfumes of the bustling city as you made your way through its cobbled streets. Your memories of Oldtown were filled with childhood games, racing through the alleyways, and the company of old friends. One of those friends, you knew, was waiting for you just inside the Hightower.
As you passed through the gates, you saw him: Gwayne Hightower, your childhood companion and steadfast friend. He stood tall, wearing the colors of House Hightower, a broad smile spreading across his face as he caught sight of you.
"Your Grace!" Gwayne called out, his arms open in welcome as he walked toward you with the easy confidence that only an old friend could have. "I was wondering when we’d see you again."
You smiled broadly, clasping his forearm in a firm handshake before pulling him into a warm embrace. "Gwayne, it’s been far too long," you said, clapping him on the back before stepping back to look at him. "You haven’t changed a bit."
Gwayne chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, I could say the same of you, but we both know a crown has its way of changing a man."
You smirked, shaking your head. "Perhaps, but Oldtown doesn’t. It feels like I’m stepping back into my youth."
"And that’s just what Daeron’s been waiting for," Gwayne said, his voice filled with pride. "He’s been practicing something special for your arrival."
The two of you made your way into the Hightower, exchanging stories of the years gone by. Gwayne filled you in on Daeron’s progress, not only in his studies but in his musical pursuits, something that had come as a surprise to you when you’d first heard of it. Daeron had always been a quiet boy, thoughtful and dutiful, but you hadn’t expected him to take to music with such dedication.
As you entered one of the private chambers, there he was—Daeron, your youngest son, sitting with a lute in his hands. His bright eyes lit up when he saw you, and he quickly set the instrument aside to rise and bow.
"Father," he said, his voice filled with genuine warmth. "I’m so glad you’re here."
You smiled, stepping forward to pull him into a quick embrace. "It’s good to see you, Daeron. I’ve been looking forward to this visit."
Daeron stepped back, a hint of shyness in his expression, but there was also pride. "I’ve been practicing," he said, gesturing to the harp behind him. "Would you like to hear?"
"Of course," you said, sitting down as Gwayne settled in beside you, both of you eager to see how much Daeron had improved.
Daeron returned to his seat, his fingers brushing the strings of the lute with ease. The melody that filled the room was soft at first, delicate and sweet, but soon it grew into something more complex, full of emotion and depth. His fingers moved skillfully, the notes flowing effortlessly across from the lute, creating a sound that was both soothing and captivating.
You watched him closely, impressed by the concentration and passion in his playing. He had grown so much, not just in skill, but in confidence. When he finished, the last note lingering in the air, you clapped your hands together, beaming with pride.
"That was beautiful, Daeron," you said earnestly. "You’ve improved so much. I never knew you had such a talent."
Daeron blushed slightly but smiled, pleased with your approval. "Thank you, Father. I’ve been practicing every day. It helps me focus."
Gwayne leaned over, grinning. "He’s the pride of Oldtown, your Grace. Everyone speaks of his music as much as his dragon."
At the mention of Tessarion, Daeron’s eyes brightened even more. "Speaking of which, would you like to see her?"
"I wouldn’t miss it," you said, standing and motioning for him to lead the way.
The three of you made your way through the halls of the Hightower and out toward the dragon stable where Tessarion was kept. As you walked, Daeron talked animatedly about his time in Oldtown, how much he had learned, and how attached he had become to his dragon. You could hear the excitement in his voice, and it warmed your heart to see him so full of life and purpose.
When you reached the stable, you were greeted by the sight of Tessarion, her blue and silver scales gleaming in the soft light of dusk. She was still small by dragon standards, no larger than a large horse, but she had a regal air about her. However, that air of regalness disappeared the moment she saw Daeron.
With an excited rumble, Tessarion bounded toward him, her wings fluttering slightly as she lowered her head and rolled onto her back, exposing her soft underbelly in a clear plea for scratches. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight—this mighty dragon, one day destined to be a force to be reckoned with, now behaving more like a playful pup than a creature of legend.
Daeron laughed too, kneeling beside her and rubbing her belly with both hands, her tail thumping happily against the ground.
"She’s just like a dog!" you exclaimed, amusement bubbling in your chest.
"She likes to be scratched here," Daeron said, his voice full of affection as he rubbed Tessarion’s side. "She’s still young, but she’ll grow big and strong. One day, she’ll be the fiercest dragon in all the realm."
"That, I have no doubt," you replied, watching as Tessarion nuzzled into Daeron’s hand, her eyes half-closed in contentment.
You knelt beside Daeron, reaching out to touch Tessarion’s shimmering scales. Her hide was warm under your palm, her breathing slow and steady as she basked in the affection. "She’s a beauty, Daeron. You should be proud."
"I am," Daeron said quietly, glancing at you. "She’s my closest friend."
There was something in his voice, a depth of connection between boy and dragon that was rare and powerful. You had seen it with your other children and their dragons, but with Daeron and Tessarion, it felt different. There was a quiet understanding between them, a bond that ran deep.
You smiled at him, resting a hand on his shoulder. "She’ll be a great dragon, Daeron, and you’ll be a great rider. Tessarion’s lucky to have you."
"And I’m lucky to have her," Daeron replied, his hand never leaving her side.
For a while, the three of you sat there in the dragonpit, Tessarion’s soft rumbles the only sound in the still evening air. The world seemed far away, the troubles of the realm forgotten in the warmth of family and the comfort of an old friend.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting Oldtown in shades of gold and pink, you looked at Daeron, filled with pride at the man he was becoming. He had found his place here, among his studies, his music, and his dragon. He had grown into himself, and you couldn’t wait to see what the future held for him.
"Thank you for bringing me here," you said quietly, your voice filled with affection. "I’ve missed this. I’ve missed you."
Daeron smiled, his eyes filled with warmth. "I’ve missed you too, Father. I’m glad you’re here."
And as Tessarion rolled over onto her side, thumping her tail against the ground with contentment, you realized that moments like this—simple, peaceful moments with your children—were worth more than any crown or throne.

Yandere Team Black Headcanons (Platonic)
''There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin, and no war as bloody as a war between dragons.'' — Rhaenys Targaryen, the Queen Who Never Was.
❝ 🐉 — lady l: I needed to get this out of my mind, so here it is. It's more focused on the Black Council, so only they appear, but if anyone wants, I can do it with the other allies of the Blacks. I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistake! 🖤❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, mention of murder, unhealthy platonic relationships, messy writing.
❝🐉 pairing: yandere!team black x gender neutral!reader.
After the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, the Seven Kingdoms was divided into two factions. The Greens, who supported the succession of Aegon II Targaryen, son of Queen Alicent Hightower and Viserys, and there were the Blacks, who supported the succession of Rhaenyra Targaryen, the first woman to be chosen as heir to the Iron Throne and the legal heir of Viserys. There were these two sides to the war and you were a supporter of the Blacks, of Rhaenyra.
Your family had long ago sworn loyalty to Rhaenyra and you would not dishonor that oath. You would fight alongside the Blacks and follow the Queen to the death if necessary. You would protect her and defend her honor until your last breath. It was this oath that you swore and it was what brought you to meet her face-to-face, along with the other members of her family who supported her.
Rhaenyra received your support with great enthusiasm and affection, smiling at you and hugging you, saying how much it meant to know that you, and your family, stayed true to their oath. She hugged you tightly, and you melted into the Black Queen's tight embrace.
She was so kind, just like the stories said. You were proud to call her the Queen. Rhaenyra touched your cheeks warmly and introduced you to the rest of her supporters, her family. Rhaenyra quickly became attached to you, developing her obsession and becoming possessive and protective. She doesn't want anything to hurt you. She had already lost too much.
You were introduced to Daemon Targaryen first, Rhaenyra's husband and prince consort. He was a little skeptical of you at first, looking strangely like he was sizing you up and your intentions. Which in fact, he was doing. After deciding you weren't a threat, Daemon was more open and welcomed you.
He wasn't the kind of person you wanted to mess with. Always so cruel and using violence to resolve conflicts, Daemon is not easy to deal with. But you can deal with him in the right way, being his listener and eventually his friend. Someone he can truly trust. Very possessive and short-tempered, Daemon doesn't hesitate to claim you for himself and will burn alive anyone who says anything about it.
Rhaenys Targaryen, the Queen Who Never Was, was all the stories said. Stormy yet with a gentleness and grace you had never seen before. She was courteous and distant at first, as you would expect a princess to be. But as she got to know you, the more Rhaenys opened up and trusted you.
She is very protective of you, Rhaenys does not want you to fight, preferring you to become part of the council and act solely as a strategist. The war was very dangerous and she wasn't going to risk your life. Not when she already liked you so much and had already lost her two beloved children.
Corlys Velaryon became close to you quickly. You met him when he was still in bed, injured. Rhaenys was the one who introduced you to him and he quickly warmed up to you. He smiled in gratitude every time you helped him feed or get out of bed. His eyes seemed to always follow you, with affection shining in them.
He could see what his wife saw in you. Something new, something lasting. When he had doubts about whether or not he should join the Blacks, you convinced him and he found himself admiring you even more for your loyalty. Corlys knew he had to protect you. You were so pure for this world and the war that was to come. He couldn't let something bad happen to you.
Jacaerys Velaryon took a liking to you at first sight, warming up to you and becoming the linchpin of his mother and brothers' obsession with you. He saw a lot of himself in you for some reason and enjoyed your company immensely. Jace is always asking for your approval, trying to please you in any way.
He is quite protective and this only intensified after the deaths of people dear to him. Jacaerys enjoys reading to you and would love to teach you High Valyrian if you wish. When he becomes King, he would love to name you his Hand.
Lucerys Velaryon became especially close to you after you arrived in Dragonstone. Not just because you supported his family, but because you were you. So kind and so loyal, he was immediately attracted to you and started following you like a baby duck. Luke loves spending time with you, reading, or when you watch him train with swords. Just your presence is enough.
He is very possessive and clingy towards you, constantly wanting your attention and approval. Lucerys does his best to be with you, clinging to your arms, as if he were hiding behind you.
Joffrey Velaryon is the baby of the Velaryon family, so young and unaware of what is happening. He usually stays close to you, holding your hand and looking at you with curiosity and affection. It's common to see him following you through the hallways of Dragonstone.
Although young, Joffrey is very intelligent and is possessive of your attention, often fighting with his brothers for it. He wants you with him all the time, close and protecting him.
Baela Targaryen is fearless and a free spirit, much like her father. She approached you firmly and quickly, encouraged by her grandmother and father. She really liked you and you quickly became friends with you.
She is quite demanding when it comes to you, Baela has a tendency to get angry quickly but she never stays with you. She likes it and is very patient and calm, smiling charmingly and holding your hand affectionately. Quite possessive, she will often get into fights to defend you.
Rhaena Targaryen is more delicate and calm than her older sister, all gentle and sweet. She is more courteous and also less demanding, taking whatever she can get and inwardly happy when you approach her of your own free will.
She's more subtle in her obsession, watching you from the corners of her eyes and smiling sweetly when she thinks no one is looking. Rhaena takes every opportunity to be close to you. She loves dancing and would be honored if you wanted to dance with her.
The Blacks cared deeply about you. Not just the Targaryen and Velaryon family, but others as well. The Lords and knights also created their own obsession with you and they knew they must protect you at any cost. Especially when you were the pillar of that faction.
They will go against anyone who dares to hurt you. Ready to destroy and burn, the Targaryens have no qualms about getting rid of anyone who threatens your life. The Velaryon fleets are at your disposal at any time and always ready to protect you.
They would only become even more suffocating after Lucerys' death. They had already lost him, they couldn't lose you. There's no way you can leave Dragonstone alone. Always accompanied by one of them or of guards.
You have become important to them. Important to the Black Queen and her allies. You have become their obsession. They would rather raze King's Landing, and burn the Iron Throne than lose you.

"TEN YEARS CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING"
Daemon Targaryen x sister/aunt!Targaryen x Rhaenyra Targaryen
WARNINGS: canon typical incest/targcest (brother & sister &niece) poly relationship, family drama.
Series
The moon cast an ethereal glow over the beach as Daenys stirred from her sleep. A warm hand touched her shoulder, rousing her from her slumber.
She opened her eyes to find Daemon standing beside her, "We need to go," he said, his voice low and urgent.
Daenys sat up, her heart pounding in her chest. "What's wrong?" reading his face, she asked.
"The guards are looking for us," Daemon replied.
"The children are in trouble." Rhaenyra said, who was already dressed up. Daenys scrambled to her feet, her mind racing. She pulled on her clothes, her movements hurried and clumsy. Daemon helped her zip up her dress, his hands gentle but firm.
"We need to hurry," Rhaenyra said, her voice filled with panic.
Daenys nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. Without a word, she followed Daemon and Rhaenyra as they hurried towards the castle, their footsteps imprinted on the beach.
🥀
The doors open as Daenys and Rhaenyra wasted no time going over to their children, "Jace? Luke? Luke!" Rhaenyra's eyes darted to Luke's nose, as she examined it, "Show me, show me."
Rhaenys was consoling Baela and Rhaena wearing an expression of horror and mixed anger.
Daenys ushered for Baela and Rhaena to stand close making the girls quickly move into her nurturing embrace, looking wide-eyed and frightened, "Gods what happened? Who did this to you? I'll skin them alive." She turned her head to the people across the room and then her eyes stopped at where Alicent stood with Aemond.
'What happened - who did this?" Rhaenyra's eyes trained on the boys and Baela and Rhaena.
Daemon stood by the door observing the situation. He looked quite smug seeing the damage done to the boy, Aemond. His daughters sported only a few cuts, if anything he wasn't concerned much knowing Daenys would take care of it.
"They attacked me!"
"He attacked Baela!"
"He broke Luke's nose!"
All the children started arguing with one another.
"Enough..." the King's commands were deaf in people's ears until he raised his voice, "Enough -"
Alicent started to yell, "It should be my son telling the tale!"
'He called us -" Jace was about to finish his sentence when the King yelled "SILENCE!"
'He called us bastards!" Jace whispered to his mother
That was all Rhaenyra needed to hear. Rhaenyra stood tall holding Luke and Jace's hands, she could she Daenys fuming with anger, who couldn't help but pull Luke's curls back in a comforting manner and protective manner.
"Aemond, I will have the truth of what happened." Viserys walked over to his son, his cane echoed at each word, "Now."
"What else is there to hear," Alicent speaks up, wanting to defend her son. "Your son has been maimed. Her son is responsible,"' she tells the King and pointed toward Luke who was hiding between his mother and brother.
"It was a regrettable accident,"' Rhaenyra tells Alicent, who doesn't care because, in her point of view, it was punishment enough for calling her children bastards and giving a small injuries to Daemon's daughters as well.
"Accident?" Alicent scoffed, walking closer to Rhaenyra. "The Prince Lucerys brought a blade to an ambush. He meant to kill my son."
"Do you even hear yourself, Alicent?," Daenys voiced, seeing how frightened Lucaerys looked, "He's a child"
"It was my sons who were attacked and were forced to defend themselves," Rhaenyra stated, "Vile insults were levied against them,"
The King turned to his daughter with narrowed eyes, "What insults?"
"The legitimacy of my children's birth was put to question." Rhaenyra said.
"What?" the King asked, not wanting to think that Aemond would say such a thing to Rhaenyra's children.
"He called us bastards." The boy's said out loud.
The smirk plastered on Aemond's face was enough for Daenys, she look at Alicent knowing exactly where he had learned those words.
"My sons are in line to inherit the Iron Throne, Your Grace," Rhaenyra argued, "This is the highest of treasons. Prince Aemond must be sharply questioned so we might learn where he heard such slanders,'
"Over an insult?" Alicent asked fumingly and the King slowly made his way over to Aemond, "My son has lost an eye!"
"You tell me, boy," Where did you hear this lie?" the King asked.
"The insults were training yard bluster. The yard of boys was nothing." Alicent tries to hide it. Daenys' eyes met Daemon, who was throughly enjoying this mess.
"Aemond, I asked you a question." the King said sternly. He wanted to know who would say such vile things about his grandsons.
"Where is Ser Laenor, I wonder? the children's father? Perhaps he might have something to say in this matter," Alicent tries to move the King's attention away from Aemond to protect her precious boy.
'Yes, where is Ser Laenor?" the King questioned Rhaenyra.
"I do not know, Your Grace.. could not find sleep. I went out to walk." Rhaenyra lied, sharing a glance at Daenys.
"Entertaining his young squires, I would venture," Alicent said, trying to keep the attention off Aemond. Ser Criston Cole chuckled, which did not go unnoticed by Daenys.
"Aemond, Look at me," Viserys said to his son, "Your Kingdom earns an answer," Aemond looks at his mother, "Who spoke these lies to you?," he asked again.
"Everyone knows where those lies came from." Daenys spoke up once more this time making her side known, her eyes filled with sorrow and outrage.
Aemond looked at his Aunt Daenys, his father adored her a lot. Growing up he had heard tales of her beauty, fiercenes and strong will and determination.
Aemond bowed his head ashamed, 'It was Aegon.'" Aemond lied, not wanting the blame to fall on his mother.
"Me?" Aegon asked hurt that his brother threw him under the bus. He was terrified now that Aemond shifted the attention to him.
The King turned to his eldest son and walked as his cane allowed him to."And you boy? Where did you hear such calumnies?" Viserys questioned Aegon.
When Aegon did not answer he looked down at his feet, The last piece of patience left the frail man, "AEGON! tell me the truth about it!"
'We know, father. Everyone knows." Aegon answered looking at Rhaenyra and her children as she had held them close "Just look at them"
Indeed Rhaenyra's sons harbored no resemblance to their father Ser Laenor with their dark hair and brown eyes. Holding no resemblance to Targaryens either.
The people in the room went silent, Daenys heart was pounding. The majority knew the truth yet Viserys chooses to remain in denial.
"The interminable infighting must cease!" Viserys demands He was shouting at all those who were present, not only at his blood. To everyone else that had something to say. His face was exhausted like he was trying not to break down to tears, "All of you! We are a family! Now make your apologies and show goodwill to one another. Your father, your grandsire, your King demands it!"
"That is insufficient," Alicent argued, as Viserys made his way to leave, "Aemond has been damaged permanently, My King. Goodwill cannot make him whole," Alicent beseeched desperately.
"I know Alicent, but I cannot restore his eye," Viserys reasoned with his wife.
"No, because it has been taken," Alicent yells at the King wanting to draw blood in revenge.
"What would you have me do?" Viserys asked.
"There is a debt to be paid," Alicent tells him and looks straight at Rhaenyra, and then to her sons. "I shall have one of her children's eyes in return."
"The fuck you will" Daenys said this time, fuming with anger. She could feel Rhaenyra holding her robe for her to not go near Alicent.
"My dear wife,-" Viserys tried to get some sense into her head, but in vain, ""He is your son, Viserys. Your blood." Alicent tries to reason vulnerable.
"Do not..allow your temper to guide your judgment, Viserys said to alicent and tried to leave the room, closing the matter.
'If the King do not seek justice, then the Queen will, Alicent decides, and looks at Ser Criston. Their hatred for Princess Rhaenyra had grown over the years. "Ser Criston, bring me the eye of Lucerys Velaryon" she demanded.
"Mother!" Luke cries out again, moving closer behind Rhaenyra. Daenys wasted no time, handing her daughters to Rhaenys's protection and shielding Rhaenyra and her sons from the chaos.
"They can choose which eye they can keep and who will give it, a privilege that my son was not granted," Alicent told Ser Criston.
"You will do no such thing!" Viserys commanded.
"Stay your hand!" Ser Harrold commanded Ser Criston.
"No, you are sworn to me!" Alicent shouted at Ser Criston, waiting for him to strike,
"Do not move, Ser Criston," Daenys said.
"As your protector My Queen," Ser Criston corrected while looking conflicted, Ser Criston always had a liking of the Realm's Beauty.
Viserys once again tells her that it is over. "Anyone that questions Rhaenyra's children would have their tongues cut out."
"Thank you, Father," Rhaenyra said graciously and turned her back to check on her children, Daenys wiped the blood running down Luke's nose with her handkerchief.
Seeing that Rhaenyra won once again, Alicent saw red. Alicent briskly made her way over to the King and grabbed the blade attached to his hip. She made her way over straight at the Targaryen women.
Ser Harrold runs down the steps and past the King, as Cole tries move past the people and straight to Rhaenyra and her children. The screams of the children could be heard in the commotion.
Before Alicent could strike at Rhaenyra, Daenys stepped in front, just in time to grab ahold of her arm and keep the dagger from inflicting harm on her niece, her lover.
"Daenys!" It was the sound of Daemon trying to make his way over. "Daenys!" Rhaenyra panicked, trying to steady her by holding her waist protectively.
'-Alicent stop this madness, before it goes too far,"Daenys said, struggling to hold her back. She could feel Rhaenyra's hands on her hips trying to steady her fall.
Daemon stopped Ser Criston from getting into the circle.
Alicent snarled seeing Rhaenyra's head over Daenys's shoulder, "You've gone too far!" Rhaenyra snapped at her.
"I-" Alicent answered in distress, "Alicent do not do this," Daenys said trying to keep her away from Rhaenyra.
Ignoring Daenys, Alicent spoke to Rhaenyra, "What have I done, of what was expected of me. Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law, while you ......." Daenys vision was getting blurry and sounds become muffled.
"But now they see you as you are", Daenys heard Rhaenyra clear, Alicent squeezed Daenys's shoulder causing her to yell out in pain, "How could you defend her?"
Daenys lets out a breath and stared deep into her forest eyes. "I scarcely even recognize you now, Alicent" she bit back. "You're turning into your father.'" Her eyes wandered to Otto. The words stab her deeply and Alicent let out a frustrated scream.
"Release the blade Alicent!" Otto ordered his daughter.
"Get the fuck away!" Daemon fought through, slightly panicked. Alicent pushed all her body weight and brought the blade down, slashing down at her collar bone area, close to her throat.
"No!" Rhaenyra screamed, trying to take the dagger away from Alicent but in the process, slicing her own wrist.
Drops of warm blood hit the stone floors. The Valyrian blade lodged deep into their porcelain skin. Shock settled into the room.
"I..' Alicent tried to speak but Daenys stepped back into Daemon's arms.
Rhaenyra thought Alicent wasn't capable of murder. She remembered the conversations on the beach she had with Daemon, when Daenys was asleep.Perhaps the Queen was capable of it. All these years was enough to change a person.
Viserys stood beside Alicent, who stood frozen and stared at the blade that has fallen from her grip.
Lord Corlys had caught Rhaenyra's shoulder who panicked more on seeing Daenys vulnerable.
"Stay with me- It's okay Look at me-" Daemon said calmly with a hint of anxiousness, when he saw her eyes closing slowly.
"Nyra, Daem-" she tried but darkness consumedand she falls in Daemon's arms.
It was as if the whole room was divided.Aemond had made his way over from his chair, " Do not mourn me, mother. It was a fair exchange. I may have lost an eye..but I gained a dragon."
Criston went to Alicent's side and picked up the knife. He seemed to have also been staring at both the wounded Princess speechless. Hoping Princess Daenys was alright.
Daemon lifted her off the floor and carried her out of the room. Rhaenys, Baela, and Rhaena followed after.
Alicent impulsively attempted to go after Daenys. She did not meant for her to get hurt in this, but she was stopped by Daemon,"You and your children caused enough trouble tonight," Daemon sneered at her and Alicent's children, "Nearly stealing away her life. Hope you satisfied with your debt" He said as he walked away with Daenys in his arms.
One by one Viserys watched his family leave and felt his heart break over again seeing his family in shambles all because of Alicent.
"Your son has disrespected the House Velaryon -my daughter who has been put to rest! Your wife who chose to inflict harm on your own daughter and sister. Pack up your things and once the sun is up you will leave Driftmark. You will not be welcome with your family anymore." Corlys roared infuriated and fed up with the amount of insolence his family had faced.
🥀
Daenys was resting in her bed chambers with Daemon holding her hand. Viserys, Rhaenys, Baela and Rhaena were right there when she woke up.
Viserys almost cried again seeing his beloved younger sister awake and was relieved. He pressed a kiss on her forehead and apologized for Alicent's behavior. He wanted to stay longer but the frail man still needed to deal with the actions of his wife and try to make amends with Lord Corlys.
"Thank the Gods, that the dagger did not puncture deeply into the flesh, otherwise... things would have gone differently," The Maester said as he examined the wound. "A small few stitches and proper rest will do,"
Daemon kissed her temple, "Anything else?" He asked the Maester. The Maester smiled and said, "Just take care of her, my Prince," and left.
Rhaenys who was pacing back and forth in the room sighed in relief. Baela and Rhaena were patched up by another Maester for the small cuts and bruises.
Daenys groaned in pain as the milk of the poppy was starting to wear off.
Baela peered up "Are you in pain, Muña?"
Daemon was slightly taken back hearing his daughters refer Daenys as their mother for the first time.
'I'Il be all well, it doesn't hurt much." Daenys sat up slowly with the help of Daemon. "You forget that I've had far worst injures than this before,"
Rhaena shook her head in guilt, "It's our fault that you got hurt."
"Oh my sweet girls, do not blame yourselves for this," Daenys said with compassion and opened her arms for them. The girls carefully climbed up the bed and enveloped her into a hug. The sight made Daemon's heart melt.
The doors of her bed chambers opened, as Rhaenyra peaked inside,"Come in, Rhaenyra" Daenys said with a smile. Rhaneys left and the girls bid their goodbye by giving both Daemon and Daenys kisses on their cheeks.
Once the doors shut Rhaenyra focused her attention on the most beautiful Targaryen woman sitting underneath the duvet covers. She looked more pale and it was most likely due to the blood loss. Guilt ran through Rhaenyra's body. It was all her fault, she thought.
She immediately rushed to her side and let out a soft gasp as tears fell from her porcelain cheeks, "I'm so sorry, my love-this shouldn't have happened to you. This is my fault,"
"Rhaenyra, I'm well. Just a little light headed due to the milk and poppy." Daenys clasped her hand gently to calm her down.
Daemon cupped her face in his hands to stare at her before sighing in relief, then pulled her into his embrace, "I'm happy that you stood up for Rhaenyra but your carelessness could have gotten you killed, my love"
"I did not expect her to be like this. Alicent has never been like this. She was such a sweet girl," Daenys said, her voice muffled as she was still in Daemon's embrace. She remembered the days when the three girls would sit and gossip about anything and everything, the fun they had and the bond they shared back when they all were younger.
"Ten years can change everything," Daemon said.
Suddenly Daenys groaned in pain.
"Did I hurt you? Are you in pain?," Daemon asked this time, sitting on the side of her bed.
"No, it's just that the milk of the poppy is wearing off," she said. She looked at Rhaenyra's bandaged wrist and asked, "How is your wrist, my love?"
"Had a few stitches. The Maester said it will be heal sooner than yours," Rhaenyra said. Daenys smiled at her niece. How she had grown and now a mother of three.
"Come sit," she gestures Rhaenyra to sit on the other side of the bed. Rhaenyra smiled and happily compiled.
"Enough about me, I want to know about yor life, these past years," Rhaenyra smiled when Daenys cuddled to her side, "How is little Joffrey?" Daenys asked her.
For the first time, Rhaenyra wore a genuine smile, as Daenys cuddled at her side and Daemon retells them the stories of his travels. A family she always wanted, she thought.
As they continue to tell stories about their children and more, Daenys eyes began to slowly get heavy due to exhaustion. Within a few minutes, light snores escaped her mouth.
Both Daemon and Daenys smiled at the sight of their beloved. Daemon gently helped her into a more comfortable position. As Daenys was asleep, Rhaenyra spoke to Daemon, "We need to talk,"
Daemon and Rhaenyra carefully closed the doors of Daenys's bed chambers and walked out towards the terrace. They stood there admiring the vast sea. The sea winds running through their silver hair, the smell of salt and sea familiar to both.
"I need you, Uncle," Rhaenyra broke the silence, Daemon didn't say anything but just stared at the horizon. "I need you both," this time he looks at her face.
"I cannot face the Greens alone," she spoke in High Valyrian, "Let us bind our blood, Just as Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters"
"With you as my husband, my King Consort and Daenys as our wife, Queen Consort, my claim would not be so easily challenged,"
Daemon stares at her, "The Velaryons are the sea. But you, Daenys and I are are made of fire," Daemon turns and takes a seat on the wall of the terrace.
"We have always meant to be burned together," She continued. Finally Daemon spoke," We could not marry unless Laenor was dead,"
Rhaenyra stood silent for a moment," I know," she said. Their eyes exchanged a knowing look.

I have an aemond targaryen x reader fic idea in mind for ya! what about an aemond x fem!reader in which the two have always had a close friendship with each other since they were children, similar to alicent and rhaenyra's (reader would, of course, be the daughter of rhaenyra). the two would ride on dragonback together and do things childhood friends always did. although, that friendship crumbles after the terrible night that aemond lost his eye and the day reader is named heir to the throne.
years later, reader returns with her family as queen and with her dragon in tow. aemond and her reunite. not once did the two ever forget each other, aemond spent days and nights thinking of his best friend while reader dreamed of seeing the wonders of the world with him, maybe even more.
slight angst, fluff and smut pls? 💜💜💜
(also, I know her being queen probably doesn't make sense timeline wise but...yeah!)

You came into this world on a warm and radiant summer day. The sun shone brilliantly above, and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs of Dragonstone echoed in the distance. You were the first precious offspring of your mother, Rhaenyra Targaryen, and your father, Laenor Velaryon. Thankfully, the birth went smoothly, and just a few days later, your family returned to King's Landing.
You were born not long after Aemond Targaryen, the second prince of the realm. The two of you were said to be very close as infants. Aemond was quite a restless baby and needed a lot of comfort, which often kept Queen Alicent up at night. To give her a break, Aemond was placed in the care of nurses. However, they had great difficulty calming him down and simply got used to the constant crying.
Rhaenyra was deeply pained to witness the suffering of the newborn baby, who also happened to be her half-brother. Unable to bear the sight any longer, she devised a plan to ease his distress - by placing you, a peaceful and attentive infant, in the cradle with him.
She gently placed you next to Aemond in the cradle. At first, you felt a bit annoyed when you saw him, but Aemond's crying immediately stopped. He became interested in you and studied you closely, eventually even giving a small smile. Rhaenyra was pleased to see this and watched over the two of you with contentment. And thus, the two of you rested together in the cozy cradle.
As you rested in your cradle, nestled alongside two dragon eggs, the space felt a bit snug. But every time someone tried to take one of you out of the cradle, the other immediately started to cry.
When you were just six years old, your dragon egg finally hatched in the comfort of your cozy chambers. As you sat by the warm fire, you kept the egg close to ensure your new companion would feel just as snug as it would have with its birth mother.
As you were quietly flipping through the pages of a book, you heard a sudden cracking sound. At first, you assumed it was just the sound of the wood in the fireplace. But the sound repeated itself, followed by a piercing scream that filled the air.
Startled, you looked up and saw a small dragon facing you. You cried out with joy and hurriedly crawled towards the egg. A guard came in because he was startled by your sudden cry. But you paid no attention to him, you were overjoyed. You helped your dragon to free himself from the egg. You broke down the hard shell to make it easier for her to come out. You held out your hand to her and she climbed up. The joy on your face was evident and didn't fade away.
You carried the dragon in your arms and went directly to Aemond's chambers. He was overjoyed for you and enamored with the tiny creature.
You two spent the whole evening saying "Dracarys", hoping it would breathe fire, but nothing happened. You giggled incessantly. When Rhaenyra came to put you to bed, you both persuaded her. You wanted to sleep in bed with Aemond and your dragon with you. Your mother was not at all pleased, but eventually gave in.
You cuddled up with Aemond in his bed, with your dragon nestled between you both. She lay curled up like a small kitten, adding to the cozy atmosphere.
"What are you going to name him?" whispered Aemond to you.
"Him? I think it's a girl..," you chuckled.
Aemond rolled his eyes, "Very well, what do you want to call her?"
You smiled, "I've thought of a few names... But I think Blackfyre is a good name"
Aemond chuckled, "An interesting choice... but I think it's good"
Aemond's dragon egg never hatched. Although you tried to provide him with positive encouragement by explaining that hatching is out of one's control and that some dragon eggs don't hatch at all, it was still very difficult for him to accept this outcome.
But every time you entered the dragonpit, Aemond would accompany you. He was there when you gave Blackfyre her first orders and it pleased him to see how obediently she responded.
He was also there when Blackfyre had her first meal. Each time you both visited, Aemond's happiness was palpable. As a result, Blackfyre grew accustomed to having both of you around.
And so you were with him when your brothers and Aegon surprised him with the pink dread. You were shocked that they would treat Aemond so badly. You comforted Aemond afterwards. He didn't deserve that. But he was deeply depressed. You then argued with your brothers and told them how stupid they were.
And so you sneaked into the hall before dinner. No one else was in the hall yet, but the table was already set. You quickly went to Aegon's place and saw the wine jug. You managed to catch some pee from Blackfyre in the afternoon. It wasn't much, as most of it ran down your hand, but it would do. Now you stood at Aegon's place and poured the dragon pee into the jug. You grinned. Quickly you looked around again before pulling snot up deep from your throat and spitting it into the jug as well. Hearing footsteps from outside, you quickly scurried to your seat. You hear the heavy wooden door open with a loud creak. You look at the door and smile. Your grandsire, King Viserys, came into the hall. With him were Lord Otto and Queen Alicent. Lord Otto and King Viserys seemed to be talking. Queen Alicent smiled at you.
"Hello my sweet," she said softly as she passed you. Queen Alicent was always kind to you. Often she caught you and Aemond trying to steal cakes or biscuits before dinner. But instead of telling your mother about your inappropriate behaviour, she would put on a stern face, let you keep your loot and quickly send you away before anyone else could see you. "Your Highness," you replied with a smile.
When Aemond came into the hall at some point, he still looked sad. He quietly took a seat beside you, seeming lost in thought. Soon after, Aegon arrived and took his own seat. You had been observing him attentively.
"What are you staring at?!" he snapped at you.
"Don't talk to her like that!" suddenly rang out from Aemond.
"Oooh... do you have to be strong in front of her now..." but Queen Alicent interrupted him.
"Aegon! Stop it, now!" she said sternly.
Aegon just snorted and poured himself some wine.
You slowly leaned over to Aemond, "Watch Aegon," you whispered.
"Why?", Aemond asked you irritated.
Aegon put his cup to his lips.
"I might have added some dragon's pee and snot in his wine," you said quietly.
Aemond laughed out loud, causing everyone to turn and look at the source of the noise. You held back a laugh, as you didn't want to draw attention to yourself. Meanwhile, Aegon had emptied his cup and was already pouring himself another drink. He seemed annoyed as he looked in your direction.
Aemond chuckled softly. He looked at you sweetly, "Thank you," he said softly to you. You grinned.
By the time you were ten years old, Blackfyre was big enough to ride. She was a big dragon that grew very fast. Your mother was strictly against you riding Blackfyre. She simply wanted to ensure your safety and was worried that you might accidentally slip off the dragon's back.
But it didn't stop you from riding Blackfyre. Of course you took Aemond with you. Blackfyre was the first dragon you and Aemond rode.
One day, word arrived that Laena Velaryon had passed away. She had made the difficult decision to end her life as a dragon rider during a difficult childbirth. You are now expected to journey to Driftmark to pay your respects at her funeral.
Before you left, you were with Aemond when his father, King Viserys, told him that they would travel to Dragonstone after the funeral. He said that Aemond could claim a dragon there if he was bold enough.
You quickly took hold of Aemond's hand to offer comfort. Although he didn't say anything, you could sense the hurt in his eyes caused by his father's words.
"Don't listen to him," you told Aemond afterwards, "He is indeed the king... but he is not always right. He does not know you. And of course you would be bold enough! You could claim any dragon!"
Aemond had to smile. But you still saw the disappointment in his gaze.
When you were on Driftmark for the funeral, everything happened very quickly. Aemond had no intention of travelling to Dragonstone. He wanted Vhagar. And he got Vhagar.
In the evening he sat with you in your chambers. He had promised that he would sneak into your chambers at night when everyone was asleep. But you only saw him again in the hall. In the middle of the night you woke up. Aemond was not in your chambers, but you heard loud conversations and shouting. Cautiously you got up. Quietly you went out into the corridor. You followed the voices and arrived at the hall. Everyone was gathered there. And then you saw Aemond. He was injured. A maester was sewing something in his eye. You went to him, but were held back by Daemon. He held you back with his arm and looked down at you. He just shook his head gently and pushed you carefully behind his big body. You didn't even take your eyes off Aemond.
Instead, you snuck into his chambers at night. He was lying on his bed, asleep. He had been given a lot of poppy juice, yet he had whimpered in his sleep. You climbed onto his bed and wrapped your little arms around him. He slowly stopped whimpering. You still had a calming effect on him, as you did in the cradle.
At bedtime, you made a habit of applying ointment to his scar to help ease the pain and aid in the healing process. Unfortunately, the maesters who had been assisting with this task were not gentle and caused Aemond to flinch in pain. One night, it became unbearable and Aemond was on the verge of tears. Feeling frustrated, you took matters into your own hands the following evening and took the ointment from the maester without saying a word.
"Princess. I must apply the ointment to Prince Aemond. You don't know how to do that"
"You are rough in applying it. You will not touch his scar again", you replied.
"Princess..." but you interrupted him.
"I have already successfully commanded Blackfyre to breathe fire. Would you like to feel that?", you looked coldly at him.
The maester paused. Then he tilted his head slightly and left the chambers.
Aemond sat speechless on the bed.
"You... You don't have to do this..." he finally said quietly.
"Oooh... don't be silly," you replied.
You went to the bed where he was resting, took some ointment from the bowl with your fingers, and gently spread it on his scar. Aemond had closed his good eye tightly, seemingly bracing himself for pain, but to his surprise, it didn't hurt. Gradually he opened his eye and saw you smiling at him with tenderness.
"Better?" you asked softly. He gave a small nod of his head, and from that moment forward, you diligently applied the soothing ointment that had been provided by the maester.
You also encouraged him that he is still the great person he was before the accident. You stood by his side and helped him to overcome his insecurities, even going so far as to help him regain his confidence with a sword.
In fact, you just kept hitting him with the wooden sword until he had enough of it and finally picked up a wooden sword and hit back. It was a challenging process, but you never stopped encouraging him to keep going but to continue now more than ever. To learn anew how he has to attack with the sword. At what angle the opponent must never stand so that he could see him well. And he did not give up.
During the day you encouraged him and at night you held him.
You still went to the dragonpit together regularly. But now Vhagar was with you. Together you often rode your dragons. Vhagar is bigger than Blackfyre, but not by much. Together you explored the skies. Only the rumbling of the dragons and your giggling could be heard from the air. Often you sat in the dragonpit afterwards. You had been lying in the dirt, hiding behind your dragons. But you enjoyed it. You sat there for hours and imagined all the things you wanted to discover. Where you wanted to travel. Of course you want to explore everything with your dragons. Perhaps one day you will fly to Essos. See the remains of Valyria.
When you are six and ten years old, you have been named heir to the throne. You have been chosen as the successor to your mother's throne, which comes as a surprise to you. Even though you are the eldest child, you had always assumed that your younger sibling Jace would inherit the crown. You're now uncertain about whether you're ready to take on the responsibilities of ruling as queen.
Aemond was still very close to you. You even sleep in bed together from time to time. It's just that it's felt a little different now. You had noticed that you often just look at him. As soon as you noticed it, you felt uncomfortable and your cheeks turned red.
Aemond was a little more subtle in his approach. He liked to watch you when you were asleep. When the moon shone into the room and made your silver hair glow. Sometimes he even dared to gently stroke your cheek. Just so he could see you gently wrinkling your nose in your sleep.
When you received the news that you were to become queen, you went straight to Aemond. Aemond was very happy for you, as usual. And in the evening, he surprised you. He came into your chambers through the secret passages, carrying two wine jugs.
"We must celebrate your becoming heir to the throne," he grinned at you. You had to chuckle softly.
You drank almost all the wine and lay together on your bed. Not a minute passed in silence, you talked the whole time. Until he suddenly looked straight at you, "You know... I like to watch you sleep..," His cheeks were red from all the wine, but you saw them get even redder, "..Because when you lie on this side in bed..", He pointed with his hand to the side of the bed facing the window, "..the moon shines on you... And...", he paused and you looked into each other's eyes. He sighed quitley.
"I love you... y/n.. I don't know since when... But... it feels like...", but you just kissed him.
He was irritated at first, but didn't hesitate long and returned the kiss. His lips felt warm and soft. The taste of the wine was on his lips. Your lips were sore and red when you first broke the kiss. You just looked at each other and smiled. You have not said much. Aemond's hand was on your cheek. Slowly he stroked your cheek with his fingers. His thumb gently caressed your lips. Until he leaned forward again and you kissed once more. You couldn't ignore the warmth and pinching between your thighs any longer and slid closer to him. But you broke the kiss again. You looked at each other, your breathing was rapid. Aemond gently stroked your arms. No one said anything. You looked deep into each other's eyes and somehow it seemed clear, you both wanted the same thing. Aemond kissed you gently and rolled onto you carefully. As he lay on top of you and pressed his hips against you, you felt something hard. It pressed right against your warm core. But it felt strangely good when Aemond pressed his hips against you. A soft moan came from you.
That night you sleep together. He was your first man. You were both inexperienced and so you both explored your bodies together. You undressed each other. You let your hands wander over each other's bodies. Every time your hands discovered a new spot, soft moans and gasps filled your chambers. You giggled a lot and kissed a lot more. It was indescribably beautiful. The act itself, when he was finally inside you, didn't last long. But you will never forget how much you felt connected to him all the time.
Aemond held you all night. He lay close to your back. You felt his chest against your body. How it slowly rose and fell. Again and again he gently kissed your neck.
The next morning, as usual, he was no longer there. At dawn he always left your chambers secretly so as not to be caught.
At noon a servant came to you, your mother wished to see you. When you arrived to meet her, she informed you that you would be temporarily relocating to Dragonstone. While she didn't provide any specific reasons, she did explain that this would be an opportunity for you to receive the necessary training and preparation to eventually assume the throne.
But you did not want to go.
"Mother... no... I will not leave the capital," you told her.
"Yes, you will. On Dragonstone you will be prepared to rule the realm one day"
You snorted, "Why can't I be prepared for that here? Here, I could see first-hand how the decisions of the realm are made"
You felt yourself getting angry.
Your mother had shaken her head slightly, "To understand these political decisions, you must first understand the political theories on which these decisions are based. Then you can deal with making decisions. And on Dragonstone, you don't need to fear any distractions"
Tears came to your eyes. But you refused to cry now. You knew your mother and the look in her eyes. The discussion was over.
You went to see Aemond. In his chambers you told him about it.
He simply looked at you. For the first time you could not interpret the look on his face.
"Do you want to leave?" he asked quietly.
Silence reigned in his chambers.
"I... I don't know... My mother said it would be the right thing... To prepare me for my regency... I... I don't know...", you were unsettled.
Aemond clenched his hands into fists, "But you must know if you want to go!"
Aemond was feeling very worried and anxious. He was afraid of losing you because you were the most important and positive aspect of his life.
"Then tell me to stay!" you suddenly shouted at him. You were angry. Those you don't want to hear it from tell you what to do. And the one person you wish would tell you what to do doesn't tell you what to do... that you should stay.
But he just looks at you, "You know I can't do that... I can't say that... You have to do what is right," he said almost coldly. He had to pull himself together not to cross the room, to take you in his arms. He wanted you to stay... that he was the right one for you.
But you understood it differently. That he didn't want you to stay.
So you just nodded, "Very well... If that's what you want. Then I'll go"
Tears welled up in your eyes. He said your name, but you just left his chambers.
That night Aemond did not come to your chambers.
You spend the next few years on Dragonstone. You actually had enough time there to prepare for your duties as queen by studying and learning political theory. However, you can't help but wonder if you could have achieved the same level of preparation by staying in King's Landing and discussing these topics with Aemond…
You miss Aemond. Terribly much. Your memories of your last night together are beautiful, but the fact that you were torn apart makes it all the more difficult to bear. You often lie awake for hours. You long for the times when Aemond would come to your bed and you could talk for hours. You miss his embrace... Whenever you receive a letter from King's Landing, you hope to hear something about Aemond, but unfortunately, you don't get any news. You're afraid to reach out to him because you don't want to be rejected, even though you can't stand the silence.
Meanwhile, Aemond is suffering just as much as you are. He longs for you and misses you dearly. He can't sleep at night because he constantly thinks about you. He is restless at night. He is restless because he yearns for your physical presence - your body, warmth, and gentle breathing beside him.
He needs your presence and comfort by his side. He remembers when he told you to do the right thing and go away, and those words still haunt him to this day. He wishes he could take it back and instead ask you to stay.
But now the time had come for you to go back to King's Landing. Your grandsire, King Viserys, is getting worse and your mother is to take the throne after his death. The flight to King's Landing is quiet. The wind blows through your hair as you watch the water pass beneath you. Blackfyre enjoys the flight. Your brothers and your stepfather Daemon are flying with you. And then you see it in the distance. The walls of the capital appear in the distance.
Aemond is in the library. He is sitting by the window reading a book. When a shadow passes in the sky, he looks up. He sees a big dragon in the sky and it is not Vhagar. A smile curls his lips. He is paralysed for a moment, but then he slams the book shut and gets up from his chair.
As you and your family are welcomed into the courtyard, Queen Alicent and Princess Helaena smile at you. Aemond is not to be seen. You smile politely, but the thought spreads through your mind that Aemond might not want to see you.
But Aemond is too excited. His hands tremble slightly. Like the night you made love for the first time. He walks towards the dragonpit, he wants to ride Vhagar. But when he arrives at the dragonpit, he is distracted. He sees Blackfyre and has to smile. He pauses for a moment as Blackfyre slowly turns her head in his direction. Cautiously, he walks towards Blackfyre, slowly raising his hand. She recognises him and grumbles slightly. As he stands beside her, he gently strokes her neck. He immediately feels her warmth flooding his palm.
"Rytsas gevie...", he whispers (Hello beautiful). She grumbles slightly again.
"Gaomagon ao remember nyke?" he says softly with a smile on his lips (Do you remember me)
When suddenly another voice sounds.
"Sīr ao sepār dekuragon bē naejot iā strange zaldrīzes?" you stand behind him (So you just step up to a strange dragon)
He stiffens for a moment.
"Issa daor bona strange..," he replies without turning around (She's not that strange..)
You have to smile as he slowly turns around. He smiles too and you are speechless. He has grown into an impressive man. Even through his clothes you can see that his slim, tall body must have more muscles. His hair is longer and falls over his shoulder. It is tied slightly so that it does not fall in his face. The scar looks much better, it seems to have healed.
"Have you taken care of your scar?" you ask gently.
He nods slightly. The smile does not leave his lips.
"With the ointment... that I... applied every night?", you whisper.
He nods again, "The maesters wanted to try another one in the meantime... But I didn't want to..." he says softly.
You smile softly.
He slowly approaches you and takes you in his arms without hesitation. You put your arms around his body.
"I missed you," he whispers.
You just nod, wanting to hold back the tears.
After a while he leans back, looks you in the face, "And... have you learned how to rule?" he smiles at you.
You laugh lightly, "Oh get ready for something... my brain has been fed so much information..."
He chuckles softly, "I'm curious..."
You sit down behind Blackfyre, leaning against the walls of the dragonpit and talk. Just like you did when you were children.
When all of a sudden he looks at you, "You know... So much has happened. In the time that you weren't there"
You nod slightly, "I know..." you say softly.
He lets his hands slide over his thighs and sighs. His gaze is fixed on the floor, "I am to wed a Baratheon daughter," he says softly.
It is quiet in the dragonpit. Your chest tightens. It is hard for you to breathe. You have expected this, but still you do not know how to deal with it.
As he slowly turns his gaze to you to see your reaction, you just nod slowly.
Tears welling up in your eyes. Your eyes burn and your throat tightens. You clear your throat. You don't want him to see you like this. When he looks at the floor again, you quickly wipe your eyes with the back of your hand.
After a few moments you catch yourself, "And...? Do you want to wed her?" you ask quietly.
He snorts, "You know very well that I don't want to..."
You nod again, "Yes... But we have to do what's right..."
You look at him and he looks you straight in the eye. At first you see pure pain in his gaze, when suddenly his gaze warms.
He nods slowly, "Fuck it, yeah. I have to do the right thing," he says suddenly.
He leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours. The love he had for you inside him had build to its maximum, beyond the point of logic or reason, and he gave himself over to you. His mind and heart become one as the two of you kissed. The world around you seemed to disappear, and all that mattered was the feeling of your body against his, and the taste of your lips against his.
You are startled at first. You feel the emotions in this kiss, how Aemond gives himself to you. But you can't help yourself, you return his kiss and pull him towards you. His hand is on your neck, his thumb gently strokes your cheek as he deepens the kiss. His touch... his hand on your neck, his lips on yours... It is all you feel. He is so close to you in that moment. Your lips, your mouths... You breath your breath into each other's. There are no word's, there is only your kiss.
Slowly you undo the buckles of his waistcoat. You interrupt the kiss. Your lips are reddish from your passionate kisses. You kiss gently along his jaw, down to his neck. nibbling lightly on the soft skin. You hear him moan lightly. Your breath is warm against his neck and your lips on his skin were like a flame.
He takes your face in his hands, you look into each other's eyes. You are breathing heavily. He pulls you close, gently kisses your nose. His hands slide from your face down to your shoulders, slowly he starts to open your dress. Gently he slips your dress over your shoulder. His lips follow his fingers. Soft kisses find their way onto your collarbone. He slides your dress further down and his lips leave a fiery trail on your skin. You moan softly as his lips are on your breast, gently cupping your nipple. He moves his tongue over one of your nipples before taking it into his mouth. You gasp out and again a moan comes from your lips. Gently he sucks on the sensitive skin. His teeth lightly graze your nipple and he bites down gently. You hiss slightly and your hands slide into his hair, you grab him by the hair and pull him closer to you.
His hands pull your dress further down. You feel your arousal rising between your legs. You press your thighs together a little, hoping to experience some satisfaction. You take his face in your hands, pull him to you and kiss him greedily, you are panting. You feel him grinning against your lips. Carefully you bite his lip. He hisses and you chuckle lightly. Your hands slide down his chest and undo more buckles on his waistcoat. He takes off his waistcoat and lays it on the dusty ground. You sit down on the waistcoat and watch him take off his vest. Your gaze immediately falls on his upper body. On his soft skin that now has a few more scars. But you also notice that his upper body is really more defined. You bite your lip lightly. You take hold of his neck and pull him towards you. Wild kisses of a dance of tongues and teeth follow. Blackfyre moves slightly beside you. But she turns a little further in front of you so that you are shielded from all possible glances and her gaze is directed towards the entrance.
Aemond gently pushes you to the ground and kneels between your legs. His kisses become softer and you feel him gently slide his fingers up your thigh. You moan into his mouth as his fingers slide through your wet folds without warning.
"Mmmh... you really missed me," he says softly.
You try to bite his lip again, but he pulls his head away quickly enough and grins. Instead he lets his fingers continue to slide through your folds, spreading your arousal along them. You whimper.
He kisses you again as he leaves gentle but firm circles on your pearl. Your breathing becomes heavier.
"Aemond... please..." you gasp against his lips.
His fingers are instantly away from your folds and you hear a buckle open. Almost immediately you feel the tip of his hard cock slide through your folds. His gaze is fixed precisely on the tip of his cock soaking itself with your arousal. He groans at the sight. He looks at you again and sees you biting your lower lip. He leans forward, devouring more of your kisses. Slowly he pushes forward, guides his hot length into you. You both moan as he pushes further in. He gives you a moment to adjust to his size. Slowly he pushes forward, he gasps.
"Seven hells... you're so tight," he whispers, breathing heavily.
You only whimper. The feeling of him filling you completely is overwhelming.
He continues to thrust, penetrating you further with each thrust. You move your hips rhythmically towards him to meet his thrusts on the way. His thrusts get harder and your breasts bounce every time his pelvis slams into yours. He grunts deeply and grips one of your breasts with his hand. Lightly he squeezes it and bends down. His thrusts don't let up as he encircles your nipple again with his mouth. You cry out and grab his arms.
He looks up at you, "My love... do you want us to get caught?" he whispers.
You bite your lips. He turns his attention back to your nipple. Lets his tongue glide gently around before he nibbles lightly on it again. He moans softly as he notices your walls clench slightly around him. He lets go of your nipple and kisses you again. He leans back a little, gently grips your thigh and wraps it around his waist. You cry out again and try to muffle it in his neck. His thrusts become harder. His eye is closed and he moans deeply as he buries himself in you to the hilt of his cock. Again and again he pushes against your sweet spot. You lie under him and just whimper. You reach for his arms and dig your fingernails into his biceps. "Aemond..." you gasp, "deeper..."
He opens his eye, but the purple in his eye is almost unrecognisable. His eye is blown with lust. Wordlessly he takes your leg from his hip and places it along his torso. Your foot rests on his shoulder and he leans further down towards you.
"Oooh... Fuuuck...", you gasp.
Each thrust hurts, but the pain feels so good. You are convinced that he is going to split you. With a brutal speed, he thrusts into you. With each thrust, his balls slap against your ass and are soaked with your arousal. You whimper as you feel the pressure building in your lower belly.
"I... I'm... so close..." you moan.
Aemond reaches between your bodies and applies pressure to your clit. He notices you clenching hard around his cock.
"Love... come... cum on my cock...", he grunts deeply.
With that he pushes you over the edge. You cry out. He tries to muffle your moans by enclosing your lips with his. Your fingers dig deep into his shoulder. Your walls want to pull his cock in further, want to milk him. He feels his balls twitch. He pulls his cock out of you as he feels his cock start to twitch too. You whimper slightly at the sudden emptiness. He moans and grunts deeply, spreading his seed in the dirt beside you. You are both breathing heavily. Slowly you let your leg slide off his shoulder. Aemond smiles at you, breathing heavily. He looks exhausted, but he is smiling. He lies down beside you.
You look at him and whisper, breathing heavily, "That was better than the first time"
You look at each other for a moment before you both laugh. You turn to him and he puts his arms around you.
After a while, you look up at him, "And... have you seen your betrothed yet?"
He chuckles softly, "No... not yet..."
You smile slightly, "Will you..."
"...I'm not going to wed her," he interrupts you. You look at him, he gently strokes your cheek.
"I don't know how yet. But I will talk to my mother... I..." you notice how he is almost hesitant, almost shy.
"You want to ask if you can wed me?" you ask softly.
He looks at you slightly uncertainly, "Well... If... If you don't want to..."
You just kiss him, "Silly boy..." you whisper.

The Red Queen 1\?
107 ac Kingslanding
Aemma’s pov
I sit in a rocking chair as I watch you stack blocks only to knock them over, and like always you turn to me for approval and when I clap you smile big showing your first tooth. I sigh once you gets back to playing, the lady Alicent has been coming to play with you since you were six moons stating she noticed Rhaenyra doesn’t play with you, but I know she was sent by her father to get in me and Viserys good graces.
Today you’ve been quite pouty and upset, and I know exactly why. Daemon has been sent to the Vale to be with his wife for at least half moons turn. Viserys was lucky he got Daemon to agree to that much, as Daemon hardly leaves you as it is. It shocks the court how protective he is of you, he doesnt let anyone hold you in his presence besides me, Viserys, or himself. Because of this over protectiveness you’ve grown quite attached to him and his blasted dragon he demands you ride with him on. If the court thinks Daemon is over protective they havent watched that wyrm growl at me, your own mother, because I picked you up. Thankfully Daemon doesn't believe you should sit on the saddle yet, so he straps you to his chest via cloth wraps commeners use. I must admit my heart about jumps out of my chest everytime you fly with him, but when you come back down, and you have that smile on your face it all seems worth it.
As I’m musing someone knocks at the nursery door. “Alicent would you be a dear and see who that might be?” I ask as I stroke my stomach. Me and Viserys found out two moons ago that I’m with child…again. One of us was over joyed, the other wanted a long nap after finishing raspberry and ginger tea for my nausea and sore ankles.
Alicent nods and gets up off the floor and goes to the door. “It's Princess Rhaenys and her daughter Laena, Your Grace.” she says looking at me to see if she should let them in. “yes please, and would you leave us darling? I need to have a talk with the princess.” I say to which Alicent nods and moves towards you to pick you up, but i stop her with a shake of my head.
Once Alicent has left and Rhaenys, and Laena are in the room I sigh. “The girl always with you?” Rhaenys asks in that cold tone she always has.
“Yes, but I must admit she is quite helpful.” I respond through another sigh. This one is quite a mover cause I never can quite seem to chase the nausea away. “So I’m assuming you got my raven?” I ask once she sets Laena down on the ground next to you.
“Yes, I did.” Is the only answer I get, so I nod and watch as our daughters play together. We’ve sat in silence for quite a while, the only source of noise coming from you and Laena as you play and babble. This is why I about jump out of my skin when Rhaenys starts to talk again. “Has Rhaenyra truly not come around to her baby sister?” she asks with a amused smirk.
“No, nothing we do has helped as of yet. We’ve tries stories, games, walks, picnics, even going to the Dragon pit so Rhaenyra can show her Syrax, but that only ended in her throwing a tantrum and getting on Syrax, only coming down once we’ve left.” I say disappointedly, and I must sound truly pathetic, cause Rhaenys reaches over and holds my hand.
She hums in understanding and sympathy. Rhaenys has always been a woman of few words, never seeing the point in hiding ones true thoughts in words, preferring to speak plainly or not at all. I quite enjoy this as you always know what she’s saying is the truth, it’s the main reason she’s my favorite out of my cousins.
“Well, I cannot say Laena will be here all the time, but I suppose the children and I would like to be closer to Corlys.” She says smiling as you and Laena chase each other, her running away laughing and you crawling after her giggling. “Besides a child needs a friend close in age to them.” she says as we both watch chuckling at you two.
“I feel a life long friendship in their future, don’t you agree?” she says looking at me. All I can do is nod and smile. My little girl will have a friend for life in the little Velaryon.

Your pov
Me and Laena run out of the feast together, it’s my sisters nameday party and she demanded it be held at this place…Dragonpot? My sister doesn’t seem to like me very much, so me and Laena decided to look for dragons. We heard this place has LOTS of them, I mean it’s called Dragonpot for a reason, right?
“Laena it’s raining! Are you sure this is a good idea? I ask as she drags me out of the castle and into the rain. “Oh it’ll be fine! Stop being a worry wart! You want a dragon or not? This is our chance, might be the only we get!” Laena says back, to which I nod and follow after her towards the beach. The wind is so harsh we’re holding onto each other to stay standing, and our hair is perpetually in our faces. Because of these things we don’t notice the two dragons in front of us, well not until we hear the growls. We both push our hair back and look up at the two dragons, one white as snow and the other a slate grey. The white one is eating a pile of fish, while the other has two dead horses in front of it.
“Um, maybe I was wrong, I don’t think this is a good idea anymore.” Laena says as we stand frozen in front of the dragons. “What are you on about, they won’t hurt us!” I say matter of factly. Caraxes never hurts me, in fact he doesn’t seem to like people around me not even my Kepus. “Watch Laena, you just walk up and pet them and then they make happy clicky sounds.” I say confidently as I walk forward smiling as I reach out to pet the white one. Laena keeps calling my name and the wind must be bad cause I hear other people calling for us too, but that can’t be true cause they’re all inside for my sisters nameday.
The white one growls abit but once i touch it, the growling stops and almost seems shocked. “Whoa that’s it? I’m gonna try.” Laena says as she runs over to the other dragon. Laena reaches out to touch the other one but it snaps at her, she frowns and yells at it. “Stop being a meanie! I will pet you!” which seems to surprise the dragon enough for her to touch it an start petting.
By this point there is no denying people are calling for us. I turn around and see mine and Laenas Mamas, Papas, Laena’s brother, my sister, Ali, and my Kepus. The Only ones who seem to be moving closer though is Laenas Mama and my Kepus. “Kepus I got a dragon!” I yell to him which catches Laenas attention and she yells to her Mama. “look Mommy, I got one too!”
“Yes, yes we see now get over here right now!” Kepus yells at us which shocks me cause he’s never yelled at me, not once. We look at our dragons sadly before running over to them. “Dont ever scare me like that again! Do you understand!” Kepus yells and I nod trying not to cry.
Once we get in and they have us in our nightdresses and covered in furs our parents and my Kepus sit us by the fire and stare down at us. “What in the seven hells were you two thinking? Running out in a storm like this to hunt down dragons!” Laenas Papa yells as we hang our heads as we cry from their disappointment.
“You guys said this place has lots of dragons, we just wanted ones of our own. So I can be like Mama and she can be like her Kepus.” Laena sobs out and I nod my head in agreement. “Yes well did you two need to be stormchasers as well? Those damned dragons seem to agree with you on this being wonderful weather to be outside!” Laenas Papa keeps going. We hear a silent ‘my love.’ and he just sighs and sits in a chair hanging his head in his hands.
“We understand you wanted dragons darling, but you scared us greatly running off like that in a storm. Let alone what those dragons are. Laena you claimed Mongrel and you claimed-” But I cut off Laenas Mama. “I claimed Stormchaser.” I say confidently as my Kepus bends down to wipe my tears away.
“Is that what we’re calling him?” Kepus asks, to which I make a face. “It’s not a boy Kepus, it’s girl!” I say resolutely, which seems to have amused him as he chuckles and ruffles my hair. “How silly of me, sweetling. Of course it’s a girl.”
That was the day Laena and I became dragon riders, and our friendship solidified.
Special thanks to @sugutoad for making the header!

Team 5Ds reading headcanons
So started thinking about what type of books certain characters would read, and this ended up extending to the rest of the cast. So here are what I've thought of:
Yusei:
Mostly reads nonfiction, such as engineering textbooks and user manuals
Martha's orphanage had a lot of old children's books that she used to teach the kids how to read, but Yusei outgrew them pretty quickly
Was hard to find good textbooks in the Satellite, so growing up, most of them were long out of date. But they helped him learn how to repair scrapped electronics
Often gravitated towards books written by "Dr. Fudo"
Sometimes reads Duel Runner magazines to stay up to date
Akiza has convinced him to try some mystery novels, but he is stupid good at figuring out the mystery halfway through
Favorite fairy tale is The Tale of Princess Kaguya
Jack:
Reads newspapers and dueling magazines, usually with his morning coffee
Looks for articles about himself or written by Carly first
Is very up to date on politics
Growing up, he was the designated storyteller whenever Martha was busy. Yusei was a better reader, but Jack was better at setting the mood and doing the voices
Favorite fairy tale is Jack and the Beanstalk
Akiza:
Was a lonely kid, so read a lot
Reads a bit of everything, but her favorites are mystery novels, poetry, and fashion magazines -Prefers romance as a side plot rather than the main genre
Convinced the group to watch a movie adaptation of a murder mystery she'd read, then Yusei points out an inaccuracy in the train design and Akiza nearly combusts because he was very close to spoiling the twist that exposes the murderer
Sometimes writes poetry, but always burns the notebook when it's filled
Favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast
Crow:
Canonically learned to read from Duel Monsters cards, Martha made sure he caught up when she adopted him
Reads more to his kids than for himself
Has a library card and uses it purely to get requested books for his kids
Sometimes reads comics and graphic novels, but more for the art than story
If he went to school, he'd be the type of kid that watched the movie to write a book report
Favorite fairy tale is The Ugly Duckling
Luna:
Is a big reader, spent a lot of time in hospitals or on bed rest so picked it up
Main genres are fantasy, fairy tales, and folk tales -Likes anything that involves dragons, fae, or witches the most
Also sometimes reads ecology books; knows a lot of obscure insect facts
Her and Leo have library cards and go once a week
Has gotten in trouble for reading in class
Favorite fairy tale is between Rapunzel and Hansel and Gretel
Leo:
Reads almost exclusively comic books and manga (but would be a Percy Jackson kid if it existed) -Favorites are the Elemental Heroes and Neo Spacian comics
Exchanges comics with Crow a lot
His dad would always give him the comic and puzzle pages in the newspaper
Is really good at solving the crosswords and sudoku puzzles
Has also gotten in trouble for reading during class
Collects cutouts from dueling magazines that he likes best, most are of Jack but has a mini collection of Yusei too
Favorite fairy tale is between Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Hansel and Gretel
Carly:
Used to read a lot as a kid, but has less time for it than she'd like as an adult
Mostly reads news articles and magazines, especially dueling magazines, but that's 50% for work -Looks for anything featuring Jack first
Main genre of choice is romance of any kind
Jack once read one of her romance novels while he was hiding out at her place...he regrets it
Used to write a blog for dueling news in college, but stopped when she started working
Is into bullet journaling
Favorite fairy tale is The Little Mermaid
Misty:
Actually doesn't read much fashion magazines, but studied Fashion History in college and often reads books on that
Her main genre of choice is horror, prefers psychological and gothic horror -Listens to audiobooks on long plane rides
Also reads a lot of cooking and baking books, likes trying out new recipes
Used to be an avid follower of Carly's blog
Very sporadic taste
Favorite fairy tale is Swan Lake, her family used to watch the ballet every Christmas
Kalin:
Is not picky, reads out of boredom so will read literally anything that comes his way -Likes educational books the most
Books in Satellite often got burned for warmth, so not a lot of options available
He would dig through the dump for things to sell as a kid, but books weren't worth much so he'd just keep the intact ones
Read a french language textbook once and now can read in fluent french, but his pronunciation is terrible because he's rarely heard it spoken
Would eventually start a library in Crash Town
Doesn't have a favorite fairy tale (it's Cinderella)
Greiger:
Reads a lot of mythology and folk tales
Started with telling the tales to his younger siblings and younger kids in his village, eventually got interested in the mythology of other cultures as well
Got really interested in Egyptian mythology and Duel Monsters' origins in it
Likes Inca mythology the most (because it's what he grew up on), but couldn't pick a favorite tale if he tried

Hello! May I make another request?
Can I request a Frederick x fem reader. Ya know the scene where he pulled out the gun and pushed orphy with it and pointed it on the ground when he told Alice to place the box on the ground? (Him with a gun is so hot) can it be like a similar situation, for example reader and Alice are close friends and they went to the manor together. nsfw
I was just talking to @turbulentscrawl about the THAT scene, buddy only had one round and if he shot it then his glass jaw was done for lolol also based it off this post
Rated Mature | Warnings: Reader has a past (tm)
Alice deserves to be called 'good girl' (listen!)
“A single barrel pistol,” Cold, “Meaning you have exactly one bullet.” The Composer's eyes narrow at your words, “Once that bullet is gone, you will have only maybe that cane of yours as a weapon or you better start running.” Laying out his choices.
Alice stands behind you, rather you place yourself in front of Alice who looks at you surprised. Back at the orphanage, you always were the defender the children flocked to; Alice too back then looked up to you.
Still does as she knew for this investigation she will need an ally. Someone to watch her back.
“Better make that shot count, Frederick.” This is not your first time being held at gunpoint, sadly as a kid, you were the fighter. It was your only way to survive, none of the adults helped— Whether they cared or not, it didn't matter, you had to fight. As you got older, you got involved with the wrong side of the law. A driver, the type that helps with getaway driving and deliveries– No questions asked, no identification shared on your side.
Frederick looks at you, you know desperation when you see it.
The roar of thunder echoes, blood spills, and Frederick stands there in shock.
You grunt in pain but strike him with a right hook, he stumbled backward holding his face, hand dropping the cane in his hand.
“(False Name)!” Alice catches you before you fall to your knee, blood slipping out of your shoulder from the bullet wound. “Are you crazy!?”
You laugh as Frederick doesn't get up as Orpheus, who so happens to show up after the showdown, restrains him with a rope he found at the stables.
“Is the bullet out?” Alice nods at your question and points to the ground where it landed, “Good. Remember what I showed you?”
Alice does first aid, not her first time patching you up after a firefight.
“Good girl.” A low voice to have only for her to hear you as she makes a sling using your jacket.
“Gonna dump him in the same spot as his great-grandmother's favorite horse?” You ask Orpheus who gives you an inquisitive look.
“She is not my great-grandmother.” Frederick corrects you.
“Whatever, we can just say he went missing.” Shrugging then hissing at the pain.
All of them look at you like you said something horrible.
“He almost killed me, remember!”
You once told Alice, as a joke, that you would stay with her like the Cheshire cat as she makes her way down this rabbit hole. You are loyal to her, always have been since the orphanage. And even as the world turned to a new nightmare, as the truth about the manor became murky yet clear, you remained steadfast to your word.
Driver, this is the title given to you upon the first match.
The game is akin to a story you have read once during your late shifts of being the getaway driver. Something about man being the greatest beast to hunt. This game is just like that.
A single hunter versus five survivors. Only, the twist is that everyone has strange abilities that can make or break a game.
Ciphers. Exit gates. Dungeons to escape. Chairs, the fucked roller-coaster ride seats with loads of fireworks under it with a timer attached.
It's a sick game you are forced to play with others.
You try to put science to all this but none of it makes sense. Maybe… You hate having to accept this is outside the realm of science you know or logic that is well, logic.
Alice is not safe, and you aren't either, but she is your priority.
Two ciphers down, fuck this game, the hunter is tailing you like a wolf hungry for meat. You stumble as you climb through a window after using a pair of gloves that boost your speed.
The hunter loses you thanks to a person titled Batter.
You limp over to a toolbox looking for hopefully some form of first aid— That miracle syringe Doctor has.
The people in your group are Journalist, Batter, and Composer.
Yeah, strange seeing— much less being in a group with a guy who nearly killed you run over, after priming the cipher, to you and patching you up the best he can. His hands are steady, nibble, and quick as they all had to learn how to patch each other up. This isn’t a game one can win by playing lone wolf, in order to survive everyone has to work as a team. Even if that means working with someone who tried to kill you.
Now, to say you hang that over his head is not true. In the line of work you had been in, you sometimes had to work under pressure with people who may have threatened you with any form of physical violence. You rolled with the punches, often literally, but you lived. Life hardened you, and you moved on (though moving on does not mean you forgive them). Guilt bites at the Composer in a way that you had not expected.
Relationships are not unheard of but rare. One-night stands are not rare but not as common because most do not want to deal with drama while trying to get through a match.
You were open to having sex, it is a destresser and you can do it with no strings attached. Luca was one you had bedded a few times, fun guy. Norton too but he is a messy one, the mood swings had ended the arrangement fast (though you did let him have it when you both got into a fight in the duo match).
Past adventures, the present adventure is the man now kiting with you against Naiad.
The gate currently opened (thanks to Alice), is blocked by the mer-bitch (you… dislike her or rather going against her).
Composer takes a hit to distract as he hasn’t taken any damage during the match. You follow up by shooting the hunter with the flare gun then dashing to follow out.
The match ends in a victory for the survivors.
“See you tonight.” Upon entering the manor you pat his shoulder before leaving off to check on Alice.
Frederick Kreiburg could be considered boring.
There are not always nights with that raw passion that would make the Gods blush sort of thing. Nothing like romance novels with the life-altering sex the protagonists have.
It is… Well, it is like making love honestly.
With Luca, you had fun. Playful and a lot of teasing. With Norton, it was like a fight, rough and hard that left you swore for days. Even the time you slept with Demi after a long of partying, it was fun and sweet.
With Frederick, this love. He is the composer and you are the orchestra. Each symphony played with care, practice, and with love.
You never made love before. Sex is one thing, fucking around is another, but love is different. It is just as consuming as lust but lingers longer than lust. It has you biting your lip as Frederick removes your slippers from when you bathed, his lips kissing the top of your foot, his hand massaging the soreness under your foot.
It is like being worshiped and adored in a way lust cannot give you.
He travels upward slowly, his gloves tossed to the floor, your leg brought up to rest on his shoulder and the other leg guided to open you up to him.
Like a flower, or something poetic.
“Frederick.” You don't realize how pent-up you are until he kisses the inside of your exposed thigh. The bathrobe opened and slumped around your waist. “Fuck.” Moaned out.
He enjoys making you sing, enjoys seeing that hardened exterior crumble to expose that you are just as starved just as him. He takes his time preparing you. Every action is blessed by a tune he knows you ask later what song he is singing. You enjoy hearing him talk about his music.
When he finally lets you cum, you nearly jump him in your eagerness to get him naked. The Composer is different from you, you like that.
“I love you.”
To think he pulled out a gun and had shot you during the struggle.
“Say it again.” Between his legs.
“I ah l-love you.”
The hum of an old song, Clair de Lune, sounds pretty, as you blow him is fun. He has to guess the song before he cums.
The fun part is after when you let him gather himself before the union. The crescendo (you told him and found it amusing that you tried learning musical terms to flirt with him), the part that you both have to fight to not be so loud. Even if his room is free of neighbors (a few less than other sections), you more than once had to tell Naib to shut up with the teasing about Frederick moaning.
Yes, you possess those moans and the Mercenary does not need to be an ass.
The low, yet comforting part, is the post-orgasm part.
Lying there basking in the glow. You are clingy and praising him endlessly, it is something you enjoy doing with your partners. He falls asleep fast when you ‘overwork’ him, the man needs the sleep and you need to let out some post-match steam.

for the rhaenicent prompt: their first night together after Rhaenyra returns to Dragonstone WITH Alicent.
With that prompt I could not jump into sex/kink. So here's a little something!
"I hope these chambers will be sufficient." Rhaenyra said, standing unsurely by the door.
"I'm sure there are those in your council who would rather see me waste in a cell." Alicent replied, her voice flat and emotionless. "This is more than I deserve."
Nodding to the guard at the door signaling that it was okay to close them, Rhaenyra stepped further into the room. "You came willingly after understanding your mistake." She glanced away from Alicent before continuing, "It doesn't lessen the pain of the losses we suffered, but it's a start---enough of a common ground to begin the work that needs to be done to put an end to this war."
"What of Helaena and her children?"
Rhaenyra stared into Alicent’s desperate eyes. They were always able to communicate what Alicent refused to say with words.
"They are safe." She pointed to a door on the other end of the room. "They are just beyond that door. I've made sure you have free access to them."
Letting her lids flutter closed, Alicent shed tears of pure relief.
"I'm forever in your debt." She managed to say, forcing herself to walk to Rhaenyra while drying her tears.
Staring into stormy eyes, Rhaenyra's features betrayed her, plainly showing how Alicent’s sadness still managed to strike a chord in her heart.
"As I've said, we'll need your help to--- A-Alicent, wh-what are you doing?"
The Queen Dowager had stunned Rhaenyra by reaching behind her own back to undo the laces of her gown, and she did not stop after Rhaenyra voiced her confusion.
"Alicent." Rhaenyra tried again to no avail. It was only when the gown had pooled around Alicent’s feet and she begun working on her shift that Rhaenyra moved forward and grabbed Alicent’s hands.
"What in the seven hells are you doing?"
"I..." Alicent’s eyes were unfocused, her breathing shallow. "It's what I... It's what I have..." Viserys, Larys, Cole... "I don't have anything else to offer you..."
Rhaenyra's brows furrowed as her mind reeled in an attempt to make sense of Alicent’s words and her behavior.
"Oh, Alicent!" The rightful queen exclaimed when the pieces finally fell into place. There was no way for her to know about Ser Criston Cole or Lord Larys Strong, but she knew what her father had done to Alicent; she knew what he had put her through without offering any help in guiding her through motherhood or showing her and her kids a modicum of affection.
Unfastening her cape, Rhaenyra draped it over Alicent’s shoulders and pulled her into a hug. "Your debt will not be repaid with your body." She whispered firmly, fighting tears of her own. "You were a queen, you're the mother of my siblings, you... you were my dearest friend... You'll never have to lie with another or carry any children if you do not wish to. I swear it to you."
Alicent cried softly, unable to comprehend that her salvation was truly in the hands of the one person she had spent so long trying to hate. That simple fact was too much for Alicent to bare, too much for her to try and wrap her head around after such a perilous journey from King's Landing. She barely felt herself being guided to bed, and she could not tell when she fell asleep, but at some point Alicent had allowed Rhaenyra's presence to soothe her and the sweet relief of slumber took her in its arms.

This idea was inspired by @floatyflowers blog.
You are the precious Princess of House Targaryen. You are the first and only child of Daemon Targaryen and Rhae Royce. Both are perfect parents for you. You have silver-colored curly hair that reaches down to your back, smooth pale skin, expressive eyes, one gray and the other violet, and a full, curved body. You are very close with your cousin, Crown Prince Rhaegel, your best friend. You see him as the best cousin and friend. However, he sees you as a lover. He believes the two of you were made for each other. King Viserys and Queen Aemma love you very much. They see you as the girl they never had. Rhaegel is very determined to keep other men away from you. The pure feelings he has had for you since his adolescence are replaced by obsessive and dark feelings after a while. You two like to go on rides with your dragons together. Rhaegel's male dragon Syrax and your female dragon Saphira are like a married couple. He learns that Otto is making plans to marry his daughter (Alicent) to him. Alicent is just a friend to him. Otto decides to take action before starting his plan. He explains to his family that he wants to marry you. The King and Queen welcome this request. He talks to Daemon and Rhae about it. All that remains is to hear your opinion. Before you leave your room to go to dinner with your family, Rhaegel is visiting. Honestly, you're mad at him for doing such a thing without telling you. Rhaegel tells you everything. Honestly, you know the King's hand is cunning enough to do such a thing. Rhaegel gets on her knees in front of you. Because you care so much for your cousin, you give him a hug and comfort him. You say you will agree to marry because you can't stand her being so miserable. After all, you think that marrying your cousin would be a better choice than marrying a man you've never met. Your wedding is taking place soon. The wedding is very ostentatious and organized with no expense spared. Otto is not at all happy with this decision. Rhaegel is determined to get rid of him soon. After getting married, Rhaegel begins to show her tendencies. He won't let you leave the palace and ride your dragon when he's not with you. She says she did everything for you when you confronted her about it. Rhaegel is trying hard to get you pregnant. He doesn't listen to you even if you say it's too early for the child at first. Rhaegel takes care of you every single pregnancy. It gives him great pleasure to see you puffing up with his baby. Rhaegel would never raise a hand or insult you. His weapon is manipulation. Your marriage is blessed with seven healthy children. Rhaegel is a good father to your children. Rhaegel is crowned King after King Viserys abdicates earlier. He never hesitates to kill others for you. When it comes to you, Rhaegel is passionate about assassination, threats, blackmail, torture and killing. It pampers you and your children to the fullest. He is a very devoted husband to you. You can ask anything from him. But never ask to break up with him. The eggs that Syrax and Saphire have together are laid in their cribs when your children are born. Not only does Aemond's egg hatch. Your husband helps your son Aemond bond with Vermithor. Being stuck with your husband Rhaegel isn't all that bad in a way. It allows you to correspond with your mother and relatives and let them visit you.

Violent delights
Warnings: Swearing, character death
Pairings: Jacaerys Velaryon x oc
1.09
You push and slap at Daemon’s chest as he tries to hold you close. He says nothing as you take your anger and grief out on him. It’s not until your screams wake the children sleeping in the bedchamber next to your own that you finally snap out of the state you find yourself in. Daemon holds onto your hands as you crumble to your knees.
Lucerys was gone.
You look up at him through blurry eyes and ask, “Where’s my mother?”
“Being consoled by your grandmother and grandsire.”
Your lip begins to tremble. It didn’t seem real; Luke couldn’t be gone. Although you knew Daemon would never lie about something like this, you desperately wanted to believe it was a mistake. Lies being spread to cause the breakdown of the blacks—you didn’t want to believe Aemond had actually killed him. Your mouth is extremely dry as you ask, “What is to be done about this?”
“As of yet, nothing?”
“Nothing?” His answer enrages you. “My brother is gone. Murdered! The greens need to pay for what they have done.”
“Indeed, they will, my girl, but we need to think strategically. The one-eyed cunt will be well guarded, as will the rest of the greens, including the usurper. They will be waiting for us to attack.”
“Cat and mouse,” you mumble.
Daemon looks worried while helping you stand again. “I don’t quite understand.”
“A mouse hopes to make a break for freedom but doesn't for fear of being eaten by a cat. It’s something Alicent once told me.”
Unsure what to say, Daemon stares at you blankly, waiting for you to continue.
“They will think we are too afraid to leave Dragonstone. I’d place my bets on them coming here to surround us, then attacking.”
You straighten the crinkled material of your dress, and you think of all the times you watched Alicent do it. Whenever Aegon did something that could embarrass her, she would try her best to keep up appearances. Your mind goes to all the ways the greens could twist Aemond into being a kinslayer, but there is none. He will be damned by the gods for the remainder of his days, but now that the first death has happened, there is nothing preventing a full-blown war.
Daemon recognises the look on your face. “Lyarra, what is it?”
“They aren’t afraid of us.”
Even after Aegon usurped your own mother, you didn’t want to believe a war of such violence was going to happen between House Targaryen.
“Two wars are going to happen. The one for your mother's throne, and another for your granddaughter.”
—
You stand in front of a small part of the black council. Your mother had been weeping in her bedchamber for hours; she was inconsolable. Daemon was busy putting things in place for part of his plan to protect his family, which required him to leave Dragonstone, and with Jacaerys in Winterfell, it fell upon you to try and hold the fort. A burden you wished not to bear.
“Where are the queen and prince, Consort?” Your grandsire asks.
“Prince Daemon is currently attending to other matters, and her grace is still suffering from her recent losses,” your grandmother answers. “With Prince Jacaerys securing the support of the north, the burden of war falls upon our granddaughter.”
You gulp down. Ser Erryk, Baela, Rhaena, and your grandparents wait for you to continue. “Admittedly, I know little about war strategies, but I was married to the usurper, and I believe that might give me some insight.”
Your grandsire raises his brows. “Insight?”
“Alicent will do whatever she can to try and salvage the green’s reputation, which will be even more difficult after last night.” Whispers had reached the island, and Aegon threw a feast to celebrate his brother Aemond killing Lucerys. “I have sent a raven to OldTown addressed to Prince Daeron, expressing my concern for the safety of his sister and her children. And I’ve sent a raven to Otto Hightower, telling him the same thing.”
Rhaena steps forward and asks, “Why? The greens usurped the rightful heir to the throne—”
“As guilty as Aegon is, his children didn’t steal my mother's throne or kill my brother.” Daemon’s words of eye for eye echo in your mind, and although you wanted revenge, you disagreed. “If we do anything to harm the innocent,” you take a deep breath and push back tears, causing your voice to shake. “Lucerys was just a boy and deserved so much better, and his death shall be avenged, but if any of us do harm to Princess Helaena’s children, they will come for mine and my siblings. It will just turn into a vicious cycle until all the Targaryen children are gone.”
“And what of Princess Aemma? Otto has already made it clear that the usurper wants her back at the king's landing.”
Gritting your teeth, you say, “The Prince consort and I discussed this at length, and it’s been decided that the safest thing for my children is for us to leave. I will be traveling to Winterfell tonight to join my husband, who is still unaware of what’s happened to Lucerys. Once we are sure of our children’s safety, we will return to help fight for our mother's throne.”
“What of the queen’s other children?”
“My mother wishes for my siblings to remain by her side.”
Your grandsire takes over as the conversation turns to battle strategies, and not long after, Daemon joins you by the painted table. He gives you a curt nod, letting you know that part of the plan is done.
—
Elinda Massey, your mother's most loyal lady in waiting, was a saint; she somehow managed to cut your son's hair and dye it darker with mixed herbs and crushed roots from plants that grew on the island, along with your daughter, while Clara dyed yours. Clara had offered to travel along with you and your children, which you greatly appreciated since you would have felt guilty asking.
“Oh, my girl,” your mother says teary-eyed. “I wish it never came to this. I wish you and my grandchildren didn’t need to leave.”
“This isn’t forever. I will return soon with Jacaerys by my side, and then as soon as you’re sitting upon the iron throne, your grandchildren will return.”
“I’m proud of you, my sweetling.”
Before you can reply, Ser Erryk enters the room and says, “My queen, princess. The boat leaving Dragonstone is ready.”
“Thank you, Ser Erryke; the princess will be down shortly,” your mother says.
He bows his head and leaves.
Clara, Elinda, and yourself manage to carry your sleeping children to the boat while your mother holds Aemma in her arms while holding back tears. “Soon as they are safe, I will return, and I promise we will make things right.” You kiss your mother on the cheek before taking your daughter from her. “I love you, muña.”
“Take care, my girl.”
When the boat leaves Dragonstone, you take one last look at your home, watching it disappear into the distance quickly due to the darkness of the night sky. The last conversation with your stepfather replays in your head.
“It will never work. Firstly, Jace would never allow me to go through with it, and Alicent would see right through my act.” The plan Daemon had proposed was risky, but you understood his reasoning behind it. What concerned you was keeping it a secret; you couldn’t look your mother or husband in the eye and be dishonest.
“She would believe you are a mother doing anything you could to protect your child. As for Prince Jac—”
“He’d never forgive me.”
“Rhaenyra and Jacaerys will be furious with us at first, but trust me, they will in time come to agree that this is the only way.”
Muña - Mother

Chapter Five: The Dragon's Descent into Winterfell
Chapter five updated:
@koobratzy, @beebeechaos
What marked the marriage of the heir to the throne was the blood shed But also the King's illness showed itself to everyone, spitting blood and falling A few moons later, Lord Cregan Stark sent a Raven The King and his Small Council agreed, Princess Nymeria and Lord Cregan were to be married.
When I get up this morning my stomach is knotted with excitement and the hurried noises in the Palace make me smile, it's the day!
I'm going to go north with my ladies, my sister and her husband for my wedding. Port Réal and Winterfell have been in contact for several moons discussing the preparations and the number of guests, not being close to Cregan during the preparations is my only regret, but I know he cannot go south whenever he wants , he has duties and the costs for such a trip would be overpriced.
All the Lords of the North will be present, my uncle and aunt Corlys and Rhaenys, Queen Alicent who will represent my sick father, my dear sister and her husband.
My heart sinks thinking of Daemon and Leana, they should be there, but I know that my cousin is waiting and that Daemon prefers to keep her in Pentos and then leave for Drithmark, I don't blame him, he takes care of her wife and would not want her to have any worries during her pregnancy which is admirable.
-Princess, are you up?
Talyssa opens the door, peeking her head in then smiles when she sees me sitting with a dreamy smile on my face.
-Happy ? Talyssa asks, sitting down next to me.
Her long red hair is held in a bun and her blue eyes shine, she is as happy as me, she is happy for me. She opens her arms and I fall into them, she strokes my hair while humming.
-Are you ready for the big trip? -I'll be on Dragon's back, Nightmares will quickly catch up with the boat, it won't be that long. -I speak of your long journey to the North, Nymeria.
The gentleness of his tone makes me nervous and happy at the same time, for three moons I prepared for my marriage to my new life in the North, but never, never have I felt so uncertain, I am sure of my choice but I'm scared.
-I'm ready, even if I'm a little scared. Will the Nordiens accept me? Will they be afraid of my dragon? And this heir thing.
I want children, but the labor is what scares me the most, my mother died from it, my grandmother died from it, it’s something that runs in our family.
-Everything will go well, Nymeria, you will see. Talyssa reassures me
I nod, slowly detaching myself from her.
-Okay, we need to prepare you for the long journey that awaits us.
I hide my mocking expression when I hear her, which earns her a frown.
-What ?
-You're the one who has to get ready, you're going up with me, remember?
Talyssa turns white, becoming as pale as a worm, I burst out laughing at her decomposition before getting up to head towards the bath that my ladies are preparing. The steam rises in the room and I shiver with pure pleasure as I slide in, savoring the heat on my body.
I don't do anything, everyone takes care of me, even Rhaenyra comes to help me in my preparation, she takes seriously her role as eldest nurturing me and making me laugh. I put on my riding boots that go perfectly with my black riding outfit and my side cape in the red colors of my House. A dragon head brooch sits in my braided hairstyle and another on my outfit.
-You have grown so much, Nymeria. Rhaenyra whispers as she finishes my braids
-Look who says that, I laugh and she does too
The wedding, Daemon and Leana, the noises of the court, everything changed her and made her mature building the folds on her forehead. She understood that even if she was named heir, she would have to fight for her throne and her place. And I will always be by her side no matter what happens.
-You are so pretty, he doesn't realize how lucky he is. She smiled, placing her hands on my shoulders.
-Oh I think he knows, I frown, I hope.
She laughs, shaking her head before helping me get up, her purple gaze turns to find my sword on my table with my compass, a gift from my uncle who never left me.
-He should be there, remarks Rhaenyra, I know he would like to be there for you.
The lack of Daemon will be felt for both of us, for her because they are linked by the same flame, for me because Daemon is my greatest confidant.
-He sent me a gift. I respond by going towards the package
Ser Erryck took it to me yesterday, I didn't open it I wanted to wait until the wedding day. The emotion touches my heart when I caress the package.
-Shall we open it? Rhaenyra asks curiously.
I smile wistfully putting down the package to look at my sister. I know she's curious about what Daemon bought me but that's between him and me.
-On my wedding day I will open it.
-It won't be long. Rhae grumbles and I burst out laughing
There is a knock at the door and my sister turns to give permission to enter, Talyssa stands up after folding the last item of clothing, Ser Erryck pokes his head in and we all greet him, my heart sinking a little when his gaze passes over me.
The love he has for me is just impossible to live with, my sister, may the Gods help her, is already in this kind of relationship and I can't attract problems while she can have them.
-Yes Ser? I ask with a shy smile -Departure is coming soon Princess, your father wants you in his apartments.
I nod following him as Rhae and Talyssa order the servants to take the packages leaving after me to head towards the Dragonpit. In the corridors I can hear Alicent's children bickering in the big court. Except for my little sister, I won't miss them.
-I hope everything goes well in the North Princess. Smiled Ser Erryck
-Well you'll be there to see it. I smile as I stand in front of my father's door
Ser Erryck's body goes rigid and he tenses with guilt on his face.
-What is happening ? I ask with apprehension
He looks away and my breath catches, don't tell me he's not coming? He cannot stay here, he is my knight, my shield, he swore to me, only me or the King can free him from his commitment.
-I will not follow you to the North. He confesses and my heart bleeds immediately
-I did not authorize you to leave your post, Ser Erryck. My voice trembles as I say it
He sighs visibly embarrassed and refuses to look at me, I don't like it when he doesn't look at me, I don't like it when his gaze doesn't find mine. He has always been my most faithful companion and my friend.
-You will be the Lady of Winterfell, your husband will be your knight, the King and Queen, I tense, have asked that I stay for Prince Aegon.
I close my eyes, a tear rolling down my cheek, by the Seven, why do I have to separate from him? Alicent took Cole under her wings and now she takes Ser Erryck for her son. Is this provocation?
-I'm sorry Princess Nymeria, it was an honor to serve you. He bow and I let go of more than one tear
Without him expecting it, I rush towards him and hug him, wanting to stay like that as long as possible.
-Thank you for everything Ser, I will not forget you, I will send you a raven every Moon, I promise.
Stunned by my gesture, he hesitates to hug me back but decides to do so, crumpling the fabric of my riding outfit.
- Your adventure begins Princess Nymeria, be happy.
He gently separates from me, his hand comes to caress my cheek and wipe my tears, then he walks away, knocks on the door and announces me. I breathe through my nose looking melancholy at his silhouette, my father under the influence of Alicent sent him for Aegon, I dare to believe that he will be a little happy since his twin is also in the service of this kid.
-Enter my daughter.
I enter the room, standing in front of my father. He sits at his table with ancient Valyria before him, his work that he cherishes so much. I approach with my hands clasped in front of me, my father's tired but happy smile warms my heart, he gets up to walk towards me, but I stop him coming towards him, taking his hands and sitting down in front of him. him.
-You are so beautiful my daughter, the portrait of your mother. My father caresses my hand with a shy smile on his face
At the mention of my mother, my hand twitches in hers, it's a subject we've never talked about.
-I don't know what to tell you, he admits, you were so close to your mother, very little to me, he sighs, I wish she was there to say the right words to you.
Heading towards Dragonpit my father's words loop in my mind, he killed my mother and regrets but now we are left with nothing but tears. My mother would have loved to see this wedding, sick or not, she would have come to the North, she would have prepared me and she would have loved Cregan.
When I arrive my concerns disappear when I see Talyssa pale in front of the grandeur of Syrax, the golden dragon growls with happiness seeing Rhaenyra in riding gear with a bag hanging on her dragon's seal.
-Where is Nightmares? I ask my sister taking Talyssa by the hand
-Gone to steal, he's coming. I suppose.
Rhaenyra mounts her dragon which lets out a roar of pure pleasure which makes Talyssa jump, her face disfigured with fear as the dragon advances towards us. I don't move, squeezing her hand in mine to reassure myself, and I almost burst out laughing when she lets out a horrified cry at the powerful arrival of Nightmares.
Nightmares roars at Syrax, his hiss mixed with a loud growl almost makes me think of Caraxes. My dragon's head flies over mine, fearlessly confronting that of my sister. I automatically turn towards him to stroke his white scales so he can feel my warmth. Once done, he lowers himself towards me, his blue gaze in mine, his pupils becoming tender.
-Hello big guy, I’m glad to see you. I simper while caressing his neck
Talyssa nearly falls into the palms several times, standing between two dragons my best friend and lady-in-waiting frantically taps her foot on the ground from stress.
-I see we've already put the seal on you, I pull Talyssa towards me while talking to my dragon, look who's traveling with us.
Talyssa turns pale when she meets my dragon's gaze, he moves his head towards her, his fangs coming out to intimidate her.
-By the Seven, Talyssa swears in fear, I feel like a lamb offered to die.
I burst out laughing, stroking Talyssa's hand before bringing her to my dragon, he pulls his head back a little before gently bringing it back towards us, my best friend's fingers relax on the warm scales of my dragon.
-Oh… Talyssa marvels as our hands caress him
Her mouth forms a perfect O as she marvels at my dragon's reaction. After ten minutes of petting it, I take Talyssa towards the seal, using the stool I manage to climb on my dragon before offering my hand to my lady in waiting.
Nightmares groans as he feels both of us on top of him, he shakes his head as I secure our feet in the spears so we don't slip.
-Hold on to me, Talyssa. I command her and she clings to me like someone clinging to their life
I smile when I feel it, holding tightly to the front of my seal, Nightmares roars with happiness before hastily following Syrax who goes towards the end of the cliff without worrying about the guardians.
My blood pulses in my veins when I see Syrax let go of the cliff to fly away, Talyssa screams seeing that Nightmares does not slow down and does not open its wings to take off. Excitement shakes my body as we fall off the cliff. Talyssa screams as she holds me and I scream with joy as I feel the wind against my face.
In a minute Nightmares opens its wings and we hover in the air, the dragon kicks its wings to return to cloud level, Talyssa still holds me tight, my eyes probably closed.
-You can open your eyes Talyssa. -Are we stabilized? she asks scared -We always have been. I sigh, rolling my eyes to the sky
Then she slowly opens her eyes and an “oh” escapes her mouth when she looks down. Port-Réal is magnificent from below, life in the capital is more enjoyable from above. The wind is undoubtedly blowing our hair, I order my dragon to climb higher, above the clouds. Nightmares roared as he obeyed, we quickly caught up to Syrax and flew lightly alongside him.
-At this speed, we will quickly join the royal boats! Talyssa screams so I can hear her
-That's for sure, I respond, quickly stroking Nightmares, let's not waste time.
Giving Nightmares a little pressure I order him to go faster. And we speed through the clouds, heading north where my fiancé is.
The sea wind blows on my skin, and I breathe deeply while in front of me, the sun begins to hide behind the horizon. Nightmares dips his wings in the water of the Grelotte Sea, Syrax sends us fresh water while repeating his gesture which wakes up Talyssa. She had fallen asleep against my back and I did not wake her because the trip was quite long for her.
-We're going to catch up with the boats, they're right ahead! Scream Rhaenyra
Indeed I can see the emblems of House Targaryen in front of me, the black and red colors fluttering in the wind. I caress my dragon's ribs preparing to pick up the pace. We arrive at the port, and undoubtedly the Royal carriage has already been on the road for a few hours.
Nightmares hisses before rising towards the clouds Syrax follows him, growling behind him because of his speed gain. As I suspected, the boats have docked for a while, some of the carriages are now leaving. My gaze marvels at the beauty of the North, the fresh wind is different from that of the capital, the landscape is so different, more picturesque, less Royal and arrogant than in the South.
-The North is so beautiful. Talyssa whispers behind me
I can only confirm his words, Nightmares also seems to like it because he roars while gaining more speed, the roar must have probably alerted the inhabitants below and I laugh imagining their reactions.
Our two dragons are flying towards Winterfell, the center of the North, we pass over the woods, we fly over lakes, meadows, villages, and I just want to fly above the Wall.
-The carriages! Rhaenyra Scream
Indeed, they are just below us forming a long caravan, and my heart is beating hard. We're coming to Winterfell, we're coming to Cregan, I'm getting married.
My hands become clammy around the seal, my cheeks flush, and my heart races my dragon. Before us slowly appears the castle of Winterfell, I could cry with stress and excitement seeing the flags of House Stark. The Wolves float in the air and Talyssa caresses my waist to relax.
My heart beats in my throat as I lead Nightmares downward, bringing us out of the clouds, his arrival noticed by all as he roars, his large wings activate the wind. The residents gathered on both sides of the road look up to the sky, completely frightened by our two dragons roaring in front of them. My pride grows when I see their gaze fixed on the power of my House and makes me even prouder.
-That's wonderful ! I scream while discovering my future home
We fly over the ramparts, the inhabitants of the castle shout when they see us, and my heart races when I see Cregan below. My gaze stays on him and I'm sure his gaze is on mine.
-Another tour? asks Rhaenyra, completely captivated.
A roar surprises us and we see my aunt Rhaenys and my sister's husband, Leanor, arriving in front of us on their dragons Meraxes and Seasmoke.
The dragons pass each other while flying, undoubtedly providing an incredible and frightening spectacle when viewed from below. Meraxes roars at my dragon who likes to annoy him. My aunt calms her down by caressing her and smiling quickly at me. Talyssa is about to faint. Not wanting her to fall I walk away from the group of dragons, heading towards the large courtyard of the castle. Nightmares reigns in terror, its great wings kicking up dust, its legs and weight shaking the ground, and its roar makes onlookers recoil.
-Gevis. (beauty) I whisper to Nightmares to calm him down
My dragon shakes its head as it rises to roar one last time announcing my arrival. My dragon calms down by showing his fangs a little, he goes down and I go down first, helping Talyssa who is a little dizzy.
-We welcome, shouted the valet, the arrival of Lady Talyssa of Pentos and Princess Nymeria Targaryen, second born of King Viserys and the late Queen Aemma Targaryen!
When my name is announced, my whole body tenses up, fear, stress, and excitement becoming one inside me. Behind me Talyssa follows me looking straight ahead, forcing herself not to look around her.
When I stand in front of Cregan, my cheeks turn red. He is handsome, incredible even, he is dressed in black, his large coat on his shoulders, its attachment being the symbol of a Giant Wolf. He is impeccable, and I am coming out of a long dragon flight, my hair disheveled, wearing an outfit that is expensive but still a riding outfit. Great Nymeria print. I scold myself
-Welcome, Princess Nymeria, Lady Talyssa. Hi Cregan with a bow
After his gesture, everyone around him bows, clearly embarrassing me, I allow them to stand up. Once done, a smile floats on his face and I remove my glove, subsequently holding out my hand so that he can kiss it, he feels it trembling in his and caresses it with his thumb, discreetly moistening it. lips before kissing him. My whole body burns, my neck becomes hot and I fight not to look away when he sensually looks back at me.
May the Gods have pity on me!
-Thank you for your welcome, Lord Cregan. I respond by taking my hand back
-Princess, may I introduce you to my sister, Sara Snow.
Snow? A bastard, I say to myself automatically, my eyes wander over the young girl and I smile at her warmly. She has long black hair like Cregan, her cheeks are red from the cold and two black beads represent her irises. It's true that she looks like him, so when she approaches to bow to me I see the apprehension in her eyes and in Cregan's. They must think I would look down on him, that's what any nobleman would do.
I prove to them that I'm not just any noble and that I don't put anyone down by taking her hands and hugging them. My gesture surprises everyone and the crowd starts whispering behind my back. As if sensing my discomfort, Nightmares roared menacingly, instantly calming the crowd.
-I'm happy to meet you. I respond with a big smile
She returns my smile by stretching her apple-red lips.
-Me too Princess.
Night has fallen in the North, the party in our honor is still going on in the great hall of the castle when I decide to slip away and head towards the walls. I hug my fur around me blowing cold wind while observing the scenery.
The dragons are housed in a cave a few kilometers from the castle, I wonder if Nightmares is feeling well, if he's not cold or something. Then my thoughts wander to Cregan and our marriage. Tomorrow I will be married under the Old Gods, the Gods of the Children of the Forest, before a Heart Tree.
The Queen who arrived shortly after me will be the representative of the high crown, my sister the heiress and her in-laws accompanying her, but not Daemon. I sigh as I think about it, clutching his gift to my chest.
-It’s cold Princess, why aren’t you inside?
I turn around hearing Cregan's warm voice behind me, he walks towards me holding his fur close to him. I smile at him shyly, feeling this dragon fire in me when our gazes are detailed.
-I was observing the night, I answer, looking at my gift.
Cregan's gaze lowers to what I hold in my hands, inviting me to present it to me.
-It's a gift from my uncle Daemon. He apologized because he couldn't be at the wedding because my cousin Leana is expecting his child, so he sent me this gift.
-And you don’t open it? Ask Cregan
I sigh, turning towards the night, clutching the package to me.
-I prefer to open it tomorrow, this gift represents the sole presence of my uncle.
Cregan gently caresses my arm and I smile at him, willingly accepting his caress, he speaks in a low voice.
-Does your uncle mean a lot to you?
A dreamy smile floats on my lips thinking of him.
-Indeed, he is like a father to me, my father figure, when the King wasn't looking after me, Daemon was there, teaching me the language of Valyria, my history, helping me claim my dragon , flying with me, encouraging me in my quest to travel.
Daemon was everything Viserys couldn't be, and I wish he were there to take me to Cregan tomorrow instead of Leanor.
-I'm sorry the Prince can't come, Nymeria. Sighs Cregan pulling me towards him
I let myself fall into his embrace, sighing as I finally feel him against me, his body warmth is all I need, and when his gloved hand comes to caress the back of my neck my heart goes crazy. The nostalgia I had when thinking of my uncle evaporates, giving way to the gentleness and love of Cregan.
-I missed you. I confess hiding in his chest
A soft laugh shakes her and I vibrate under her.
-I missed you too, woman.
I lightly tap his chest with a fake annoyed look on my face.
-I'm not your wife yet Cregan, I reply with a mocking smile, wait until tomorrow evening to call me that.
His amused face disappears and becomes playful and seductive when he brings his lips to mine, my hands tremble against me when I feel let him rub his nose against mine, his two-tone irises in mine.
-Oh, but that’s all I’m waiting for, Princess. Smiled the Wolf, showing his canines
My heart soars when I realize that it refers to our wedding night, our bedtime. My cheeks, my neck, my body become as hot as fire, as red as blood. I look away, prey to strong carnal emotion.
-This is terribly inappropriate. I whisper in a low voice
Cregan's laughter bursts into the night making it less silent and I smile stupidly as I feel him bring me to him, his chest vibrating with joy at my back, his chin above my gray head.
-To my sweet Princess, I can’t wait to call you mine.

HotD S02E04
I watched this at 6 in the morning and I have to say that I'm glad I took the risk of ruining my entire day because I loved this episode. It flew by so fast and had me chanting the dragons' names several times. That is not to say that some things weren't questionable or just plain irritating despite actually making sense so lets review:
Daemon was tripping so. hard. These hallucinations are fucking him up real bad and I love it. He's sososososo pathetic. The fucking nerve to just go "Hey, won't you kill your grandfather? It would really help me out." Have fun losing your mind, asshole!
So Alyn and his brother are Corlys' bastards. Corlys gets so little screen time, especially in this second season, and he's still so hateable. At least Otto is funny and a great politician. What does Corlys have? A stubborn refusal to acknowledge his granddaughters despite his wife being denied her inheritance? Anyway, he should have been the one to die instead of Rhaenys.
Alicent, bestie, what the fuck? Not her going around and trying to assuage her guilt by still clinging to the delusion that Viserys might have wanted Aegon to be king. What even is this behavior at this point? Her grandson's death should have confirmed what Otto told her so many years ago - that Rhaenyra pursuing her claim to the throne would kill her children in one way or another. We should be past this by now, my god!
The disrespect to Baela is so unreal. I love that she snapped back. "We StIlL kNoW vErY lItTlE" And without Baela you'd know fucking nothing! The fact that even Rhaenys has to deal with this bullshit and Corlys had to come in after her for everyone to remember their place is just an insult.
Criston haters must be so mad at how he's succeeding despite everyone thinking the odds are against him.
Larys not giving a fuck about Harrenhal is so funny. If he thinks it's useless to them outside of the possibility of it driving Daemon mad, then you know it really is. (I am curious about Larys' feelings on Alys, however.) And the way he bragged about controlling all the finances of Harrenhal. He really drained it and the whole situation back in 1x06 to the fullest, got everything he could and then left the castle and everyone in it to rot.
Aegon at that Small Council meeting, the poor soul! No one gives a shit about him, only enough so to steer him away from messing up their plans. And his brother bullying him back (deservedly so tbh) but I have big question marks about that part. Why would Aegon not know how to speak High Valyrian? This doesn't make sense considering how they later show him being so close and affectionate with Sunfyre. High Valyrian is the only way to control the dragons. Unless Aegon and Sunfyre's bond is so strong that he doesn't even need words to direct his dragon, which is actually such a great implication that I could relinquish my anger about this choice otherwise. For the umpteenth time the writers make choices to make Aegon look bad but the implications just decimate the effect.
Alicent has certainly grown less bothered by Larys or at least learned to hide it better. To be fair it seemed like he'd lost interest in her lately but at the same time, she has been evading him pretty successfully for the last few episodes. Not to the point where he doesn't know everything that's been going on with her but at least enough so that she hasn't had to deal with him. And this conversation was more a veiled communication of the truths they've uncovered rather than her depending on him. I am enthralled with how their dynamic evolves and hope we see a lot more from it. He did run to her first chance he had, though I find it interesting that this conversation is only happening now with Criston out of the way. Alicent's relationship with him is certainly reflecting on the dynamic she has with Larys, much to his chagrin, I'm sure. His behavior towards Alicent is fascinating. He was certainly attacking her, digging into every weakness he noticed, and yet, he validated her "indulgence" and seemed pleased with the conclusions she's reached. It's so obvious he wants to wrest her from her faith and conscience because he identifies with the woman he believes she would be without them. And for the purpose of accomplishing that he's not moving in to decimate her relationship with Criston (tbh they're doing that well enough on their own). He said "It's important that she has sex. Doesn't have to be with me. It just needs to happen to draw her away from clinging to her morals." His obsession with her is so insane and deeply twisted. I can only watch mesmerized. Next they should make him run around trying to fix Alicole, make sure that they're having all the sex. That would be the funniest direction to take this love triangle.
I love how Alys is just toying with Daemon like he's her food. Harrenhal is really not agreeing with him. He is haunted as fuck and it's so funny. Him seeing himself as Aemond especially was 10/10. The implications! Aemond is a kinslayer, who's hurt Rhaenyra the most by taking her child away and the fact that Daemon sees himself as a reflection of that says so much!
Aegon is also having the worst time. The fact that Alicent instantly assumed he's destroyed the books says how much faith she has in his ability to actually consider the consequences of his actions. Unfortunately, I can't defend him because he instantly proved her right about that. However, I believe we're seeing the alternate version of that scene where Alicent found him crying and left play out. This is what would have happened if she'd tried to comfort him back then. She's been angry with him her whole life and it's really been brought to the forefront now when his rash actions have hurt them and she has to face the guilt over her own actions. She's not capable of comforting when she's so angry but while in 2x02 she was looking to avoid hurting him, here she just doesn't care after the realizations of last episode. She's viewing Aegon and his impulsiveness as obstacles (and his temper and recklessness certainly are) but she doesn't care about approaching with care to cultivate the behavior she wants. And I doubt that would work regardless when Aegon has his whole life as proof that whatever he does will never be enough for her but he can't understand the why. He just wants her to love him and he doesn't have all the context of how he - most of all her children - is the embodiment of her pain and suffering. They really are a tragedy and it's heartbreaking. Though, this scene wasn't as bad as I feared. It makes sense for Alicent to act this way despite how frustrating her refusal to deal with her own feelings is. Not to mention the fact that she brought up her own reign with pride and self-confidence. That was more than I could have hoped for!
Jace being so angry with Rhaenyra is the first interesting thing he's ever done but, of course, they refuse to linger more on these feelings and instead give us a bonding moment where Rhaenyra passes down her father's legacy on to Jace. They could have focused a little more on why she waited so long and why he was so angry but I guess we can't have even a little trouble in paradise. I mean, for someone who wasn't sure she believed the prophecy, she sure made it out to be her whole reason to fight for her claim. It's almost like she's in denial about the fact that she's not doing this out of noble intent but because she wants the crown and the vindication of being queen when so many are against it (which doesn't at all mesh with the sense and wisdom they've tried to imbue her with). Her and Alicent are such mirrors when it comes to that.
Rhaenyra wanting to go into battle herself is legit on the same level of bullshit that Aegon is pulling, regardless of motivations. It's almost like she was hoping to get killed so she won't have to bear the consequences of engaging in this war. Again, I know what they intended for this scene to accomplish but it doesn't really do her any favors. If anything, she should have sent more than one dragon to ensure victory. You know Aemond has Vhagar and you're willing to walk into that alone and later send someone else alone? Girl, be serious! It's just bad strategy.
Sunfyre being so playful with Aegon is the cutest thing we've seen on this show. He's like a big puppy. I was, however, literally yelling at Aegon to stop drinking and he did... only to go driving while fucking wasted. What was he thinking? (I know what he was thinking but, god, he's never beating those reckless fool allegations.)
Aegon being grounded both figuratively and literally so fast was just painful to watch. The way that Sunfyre was screaming in pain hurt me personally and Aegon's attitude changed from "I'll show them all. Fuck Aemond in particular!" to "Thank the Seven, my bro is here to bail my ass out of trouble" to "Fuck, I'm cooked!" so swiftly that you know he was regretting probably all of his life choices. He really doesn't use High Valyrian to communicate with Sunfyre, though. The only word in High Valyrian he used was "dracarys". His part in the battle wasn't long but I sure am living for these implications like I said above.
I do hate what they've done with Aemond. If he'd joined sooner, Aegon probably wouldn't have gotten so badly injured. He certainly had it coming but that makes it practically three times Aemond was looking to have him killed in the span of about as many minutes. But the last scene in the woods with his sword drawn? Wow, okay! They decided to really go in full force on that kinslayer title and I just don't think it makes sense. Not after the way Aemond felt guilty even for killing Luke. Aegon bullying him for a minute surely wouldn't have set him off that badly if he felt regret over killing the boy that slashed out his eye. They're just trying to make you hate Aegon by making everyone around him hate him.
Criston scrambling to do PR and fix their image was so funny, though. You know his inner monologue is just "Shit shit fuck shit" but externally he's giving a motivational speech. XD This is what I wanted to see from him being Hand - having to deal with Aegon's whims. While I'd say he failed there, it wasn't like he could do anything once Aegon was on his dragon, and otherwise his plan was pretty good so... Criston keeps winning, I guess.
I love the way that it was shown how Rhaenys is more experienced than both Aegon and Aemond. Vhagar also took some damage in that fight that would have been more fatal if she just wasn't a whole, entire mountain. But at the same time, it wasn't just Vhagar's size that won this for Aemond (though that certainly did most of the heavy lifting). This man rides the largest dragon in the world and he managed to hide it in the midst of battle and ambush his opponent. That certainly took a little strategical thought if nothing else. And then Vhagar's size did all the rest. The boys certainly are not experts in dragon battle and it will be interesting to see them proceed from here on out, see if they've learned anything from this or not. I'm sad to see Rhaenys go so soon. She should have gone back to Dragonstone when she could. Rhaenyra certainly took a big loss with that.
The way I just knew Criston would get knocked out. I was yelling at him to watch where he's going... and he didn't. He survived AND won the battle but at what cost? The way that soldier crumbled to dust under his touch was bloodcurdling. And Criston's prominent worry for Aegon might be the first time it occurred to him that this war could take away the people he loves.
P.S. Why was Aegon wearing his crown on top of his helm? Unless that's another crown that's specifically designed to go with the armor, it shouldn't fit him both with and without the helm.

I'm very sad with how the show treated Helaena honestly because I don't think that making her a dreamer was a bad idea in general. (it's actually maddening how the show doesn't set shit up properly because it makes the plot move the characters and not the other way around like it's supposed to be )
Frankly how I personally would've liked the things to play out (and you need Maelor for that): Helaena as a dreamer knows the things that are going to happen with enough clarity of the event itself but not how or why or where or when, basically just the event in a vacuum.
So she's haunted by the visions of her children's deaths and she tries to avoid it by telling people about it and while they try to accommodate her they don't take her seriously enough (mother's worries and gentle hearts and all that).
But then B&C happens (as close as it was in the books) and she, like in the books, goes mad with grief and fear and her visions about her children's dying become more prominent and she can't forget them. The thing I would make different from the book is that instead of avoiding her children she keeps them close and doesn't let anyone near which makes Aegon to ask Alicent for help because she's pretty much the only one who Helaena trusts with it (Aegon too but he has too much of his own guilt so he avoids her, Aemond too I guess).
So Helaena is drowning in her emotions and paranoia and thinks that Daemon is coming back or will be the one to kill her babies but then the RR happens and Aemond burns Aegon (intentional or not doesn't really matter) and Helaena thinks that Aemond too might try to get to the throne through her children (not because he really would it's more about how Hel is beyond reason at that point and only thinks about her children) and she kinda snaps out of it but kinda gets the tunnel vision about saving her children fueled by her dreams and fears.
And that's what makes her urge Aemond to go to Harrenhall (tho without telling him about his death, only telling that Daemon will be there and they will have a battle and maybe lie about his victory or something) and then urge Daemon to go there as well and battle Aemond.
But then her children are whisked away and Rhaenyra takes KL and maybe Helaena tries to play on Rhaenyra obsession with the prophesy and loses her touch with the reality little by little.
And then obviously it doesn't work and Maelor is dead (something something we do what we do because the dreams are true or the dreams are true because we do what we do) and she jumps from the window.
It's not ideal but I personally would like to see something like that and I thought that's where s2 would go.
Also, her dreamer status might explain her hesitation at riding a dragon because if she sees her own death she might get cautious and try not to risk it and also if she doesn't know when it happens she wouldn't want to leave her children at all and if she sees Jaehaera's deaths she also wouldn't want to fly her away somewhere. It also might explain her panic in a crowd because she sees Maelor's deaths in a crowd so she's very distrustful of it.

I love that no character is one-dimensional:
Sara is not goody two shoes protagonist with unwavering hope (I like Makoto it's not his slander I really promise I love kind guys), she has the highest chance of winning. It can't happen to ultimate cinammon roll. The balance between her caring side that wants to protect everybody and using charisma to her advantage is so tricky and yet it works (though I am a bit baffled at how she changes without Joe in AI simulations).
Joe is not only cheery cheesy best friend that dies just so you can cry about it (even if it's true as well). Joe is distrustful, he is scared and he kind of wants to escape with sacrifice card knowing what it entails. So he came up with a plan where good people being majority would live, and if not he can feel less guilt. Amazing idea! And we all know how he returns in second chapter. A sing of ungrounded guilt that doesn't correspond to reality whatsoever but can't be combated with logic alone. In best case scenario it is defeated with reminder of how real Joe behaved, showing how faulty our perception can get from trauma.
Keiji is not just sexy detective that supports Sara, oh no. This guy gets close to our heroine on purpose and I dare say kind of uses her for own gain. Then, his trauma doesn't equal all of his character nor it magically justifies killing Megumi, it simply explains his current actions. And of course I really want to believe that he is not some creep flirting with people in most suspicious way. He just needs excuse for evading akward questions. This man, deprived of sleep because of his sins, is both cunning and kind, capable of cruelty and striving to be like his idol.
Kanna and Gin are not annoying children that constantly need saving or exist to evoke sympathy. In Kanna's case sympathy is natural, but it is not the only thing going for her. Kanna is about giving a chance, letting go regrets, making thought-out sacrifice and when it fails moving on to make sure it doesn't have to happen. She develops constantly, bringing ideas to the table and trying to get all group stay united. Kanna makes conscious choice to spend time with Shin to get information, so while she can be manipulated it's not always the case and she's not all naїveness. Her arc of overcoming trauma and insecurity may seem familiar to characters from other media, but it is unique and distinctive.
Gin is autism representation without making him vilain or weird. He has some pecularities, for example, wearing animal-like clothes and repeating animal sounds, and yet nobody bats an eye, so surely he's no outcast or useless (on the contrary, he is quite useful remembering names in the bar, using scent, helping morally etc). Gin's the least morally gray of the cast, but it doesn't mean he is cardboard nice support kid either: he has his dislikes or his own thoughts (he is quite distrustful toward Kanna because he's younger and doesn't use age as justification for her actions).
Reko seems simple enough, a hot-tempered rock star, emo/punk lady many would like to date. Strict to the strong, kind to the weak. She had a lot of changing in the past and it continues here, she is becoming softer. But it's not her only trait: she's a talented singer that was interested purely in music and it's perfection. She ignored to some degree her happiness, her band, her beloved brother for the sake of art. She wasn't indifferent, but appeared as such. And now, finally having a better understanding of what's important and bright future ahead she ends up in a death game with Alice. Their plotline is prominent in second chapter and is devastatingly tragic.
Alice looks like comic relief with his exaggerated reactions and bizzare choice of words (personally I love this type of speaking it's cool). But he is actually not only a scaredy cat: he is a person without a purpose. He searched for it in a path with sister, but no happiness came, only murder of Midori. Alice hides his soft side to not be hurt, he on purpose builds a wall and appears so arrogant because when he was openly kind the close ones were indifferent (not to mention prison, I admire how Alice kept his sanity at all).
Shin is a prime example of morally gray character done right (majority here are morally gray but with him being antagonist it's far more prominent). I have seen various post about fandom interpreting him either as "totally evil manipulator", "Kokichi/Nagito kinnie", "cinnamon roll he did nothing wrong" or "what a loser". But he's not just good or bad, him having antagonist status doesn't make him Ouma copycat or Komaeda's successor, and while I get him being a loser is funny it's not the only thing to define him (though it's more of a joke than serious interpretation). Shin is very insecure and distrustful guy who "sees shadows where there aren't any" (quoting Sara) due to 0% and wants to live, using all methods... until he gets attached. He plots mainly against people he considers his enemies (to tell the truth, with 0% anybody could be classified as enemy), and I think he wouldn't abandon those close to him like Kanna, perhaps partly due to guilt of using her. In general, his actions, while obviously not the best (and he knows it perfectly well), come from fear of death and paranoia rather than pure malice or craziness.
Nao may appear as mentally weak girl you constantly have to help and can't rely on. Yes, Nao has problems with dependance on other, but she has her own aces up her sleeves. She's creative, smart, open-minded. For me her advantage lies in unexpectedness: who knew she saw through AI's lies? For her own sake and for the group Nao is capable of difficult actions like puching fake Reko. This girl is about growing more responsible, learning to trust your own judgement (she has great intuition by the way) and becoming independent.
Kai is quite too unique for stereotypes in my mind, a mysterious but awfully suspicious man. He looks so feminine but don't let that deceive you: he's assasin. Assasin that doesn't kill. Kai is the person escaping from his bloodied, horrible, traumatic past into right, calm, tranquil future with only householding chores and not killing attempts to protect... wrong people (Sara is not bad person, but her father is likely to be tied to Asunaro). So poor househusband is leaping from one abusive enviroment into another, but now being genuinely loyal and unaware of all skeletons kept in closet.
Q-Taro is certainly not only kindhearted big muscular guy (that dies in certain chapter) or stupid. Yes, he looks like parody on American, yes, all his accents make his speech a bit silly and stereotypical. No, he's not dumb. In fact, many plot twists involve him in some way (especially the banquet). Also, he could sacrifice his life for somebody, but he is equally capable of doing the opposite. Q-Taro is quite honest but not above tricks to leave this place, he cares for th group (taking into accout his team-spirited profession) but prioritises himself until later; he knows how sinful people are including him and that allows him to forgive quickly.
Finally, Mishima dies so early you don't hope to see him after 1.1. But if you think he's the shock value first victim that dissapears after, you are not quite right. Mishima, being dead, yet has influence on story as well, either through mystery of his head or AI that appear three times (maybe something is really up with him). Not to mention Ytts where his character shines and not burns. Him being almost perfect doesn't ruin anything, it motivates to become better as well because he wasn't always like this. Plus, he's no ideal, Mishima understands how world works but is passionate to a fault, not to mention his suspicious behavior. He is example of a person that matured, overcame his main faults and inspires the same in others.
Of course, everyone can interpret these characters differently and it's great, those perseptions can be true all at once. They are so interesting and captivating thanks to many layers of depth where everybody can see something unique.
