Marijus Aleksa - As They Are

Throughout his remarkable international career, Lithuanian drummer & producer Marijus Aleksa has established himself as a bonafide shaman of rhythm. From making his debut at the Vilnius Jazz Festival at the tender age of thirteen, he has grown into a stage partner of some of the world’s most celebrated stars (such as Keyon Harold, Grammy award winner Bill Laurance, Joe Armon Jones, Ashley Henry, Dennis Rollins, China Moses, Ben Marc, Anthony Joseph, Femi Temowo, Oscar Jerome). An ambitious drummer and percussionist, he relies on his technical prowess and visionary endeavours. Through his work as a heralded band leader, session musician and solo artist, his music is not unlike the works by the abstract expressionist painters: rich in colour, vivid, intuitive and hypnotising, traversing musical maps by blending the worlds of jazz, rock, world and electronic club music. With the concept of collage forming a central theme of the record, 23 people from different parts of the world (Lithuania / USA / UK / Cuba) each contributed to the creative flow of the musical creation, forming a rich sonic tapestry - formed of 3 years of recording and re-editing jam sessions, creating a spellbind final piece constructed from smaller pieces that in the first instance may have seemed incompatible. This sensibility was also applied to the track titles, which were created by segmenting common phrases and reforming them. The artwork was also created by Japanese collage artist Mt.Chills. Posticipo della 23esima giornata per i Knights che fanno visita alla rinnovata Rieti che inserisce gli ultimi arrivati, Jackson e Vildera anche se Gigli viene precauzionalmente fermato, mentre Legnano fa esordire Laganà in un roster che ora ha le rotazioni al completo.

La gara inizia con i centri di Thomas e Jones, poi Legnano si infiamma con la tripla di Raffa e il canestro in contropiede di Thomas e Bortolani del 4-11.

Dopo l’ennesimo canestro di Jones, Legnano sprinta ancora con Raffa e Thomas sul +13 del 9-22, ma qui Rieti ha un moto di orgoglio e piazza un parziale positivo con Tomasini e Casini fino al 20-26 che chiude il primo periodo.

Dopo il tiro da tre di Ferri in apertura del secondo quarto, Rieti si avvicina minacciosamente ai Knights sul 29-31 grazie a Toscano e Conti.

La Axpo reagisce e scappa di nuovo sul +12 del 33-45 con i canestri di Thomas, Bozzetto e Laganà che, alla prima in maglia biancorossa, sembra già essere in ottima sintonia con i compagni.

Rieti dopo lo schiaffo prende a difendere più intensamente e questo da ritmo all’attacco che va a segno con Jackson e Tomasini, che trascinano i reatini fino al 44-48 dell’intervallo.

Dopo la pausa lunga, i Knights faticano a ritrovare il ritmo (solo 8 punti nel quarto) e Rieti ne approfitta per piazzare un parziale positivo che passa dal canestro da tre del sorpasso di Tomasini fino al tiro libero di Jones del +7 per il 60-53 del 29’.

Gli ultimi canestri del tempo sono però di Ferri e Raffa che avvicinano i Knights al 60-56 del 30’ alla fine di un quarto di passione.

Ultima frazione che parte bene per la Axpo con i centri di Bianchi e Raffa del pareggio.

Poi ancora Ferri da 3, Bozzetto e Laganà lanciano i Knights sul 67-74 che mette paura alla Zeus.

Vildera con 4 punti in fila rimette in gara Rieti sul 71-74.

Raffa segna due liberi per il 71-76, Jackson la mette da 2 e Laganà da 3 per il 73-79 che fa entrare la partita nell’ultimo minuto e mezzo.

Jackson infila la bomba del -3 per Rieti e, dopo un errore offensivo, Laganà commette fallo su Tomasini, che stava tentando il pareggio dall’arco.

L’ex Legnano però fa solo 1/3 dalla lunetta e con i liberi finali, i Knights colgono la vittoria per 77-82

Cercata, sudata ed ottenuta! Una vittoria di gruppo che da coraggio alla banda di Mazzetti, capace di essere molto produttiva (66-102 la valutazione di squadra), ma anche concreta, nonostante un Thomas stellare nel primo tempo (19 punti) ma subito out all’inizio del terzo quarto quando un antisportivo, sommato ad un tecnico del primo tempo, ha portato all’allontanamento dello straniero dei Knights.

Settimana tipo per la Axpo che settimana ospiterà al Palaborsani la Mens Sana Siena.

Summary of the Plot **Spoilers**

At the beginning of the story, Earth's residents are unaware that the human species on Earth and countless other planets were established by families of transhuman and alien royalty for the purpose of later "harvesting" the resulting organisms to produce a type of youth serum for the elites on still other planets.  After the death of the matriarch of the House of Abrasax, the most powerful of the alien dynasties, her children, Balem, Kalique, and Titus quarrel over the inheritance, with Balem inheriting an enormous refinery on Jupiter and Titus declaring his intention to dismantle the youth serum trade, of which Earth is the next intended source. Protagonist Jupiter Jones narrates that her father, Maximilian Jones, met her mother, Aleksa, in Saint Petersburg. After Maximilian is killed in a robbery, Aleksa names their daughter Jupiter, after his favorite planet, and they move to Chicago to live with Aleksa's family.

Many years later, Jupiter works with Aleksa and her Aunt Nino to clean the homes of wealthy neighbors. To buy a telescope, Jupiter agrees to sell her egg cells with the help of her cousin Vladie, under the name of her friend Katharine Dunlevy. At Katharine's house, Jupiter and Katharine are attacked by extraterrestrial 'Keepers'; and when Jupiter photographs these, they erase her memory of the incident. Jupiter stumbles upon the strange photograph on her phone while waiting at an egg donation clinic, but could not recall anything about it. During the procedure, the doctors and nurses are revealed to be Balem's agents, sent to kill her, and she is saved by Caine Wise, a former soldier sent by Titus.

While Caine and Jupiter ascend to a ship, it is destroyed by a squad of Keepers who then attack them. Caine fends off the attack and manages to kill the Keepers and hijack one of their vehicles while protecting Jupiter. Having survived the attack, the duo visits the residence of Stinger Apini, an old comrade of Caine. As Jupiter discovers that she can control the bees in Stinger's residence, she is revealed to be a galactic royalty. Stinger agrees to help Jupiter, but a group of hunters captures her and takes her to Kalique's palace on a distant planet, where Kalique explains that Jupiter is genetically identical to the dead matriarch, and therefore the Earth's rightful owner. Supported by Captain Diomika Tsing of the Aegis (an intergalactic police force), Caine retrieves her from Kalique, and brings her to the planet Ores (the intergalactic capital planet) to claim her inheritance.

Balem sends Greeghan to kidnap Jupiter's family. On the way back to Earth, Titus detains Jupiter and Caine. Titus reveals to Caine his plan to marry and kill Jupiter and claim Earth. He then throws Caine into the void; but Caine survives and returns with Stinger to save Jupiter at the altar. Jupiter asks to return home, but learns that her family has been taken hostage by Balem. In his refinery in the Great Red Spot, Balem demands Earth in exchange for Jupiter's family. Realizing that Balem can "harvest" Earth only with her permission, Jupiter refuses. Caine infiltrates the refinery and damages its gravity hull, causing the refinery to begin collapsing. While the occupants evacuate the refinery, Tsing's ship moves in and rescues Jupiter's family.

Jupiter survives the collapsing structures, only to land at the feet of Balem who tries to kill her; but she fights him off, and is rescued by Caine while Balem falls to his death. As the refinery is in its final stages of collapse, Tsing opens a portal to Earth and prepares to evacuate, potentially leaving Caine and Jupiter behind. However, she is relieved to find that they have survived and crossed the portal along with Tsing's ship. Jupiter's family is returned home with no memory of their disappearance, but with a new appreciation for Jupiter, while Jupiter secretly retains ownership of the Earth. Caine's rank with the Aegis is restored, and he and Jupiter begin a relationship.

Partita delicata per i Knights che affrontano Rieti degli ex Tomasini e Toscano, senza Benetti di nuovo out per un problema al ginocchio e con la disperata voglia di muovere la classifica.

Per Rieti dopo l’infortunio di Frazier, esordisce in campionato Adegboye, tesserato a fine settimana.

L’avvio del match è di grande equilibrio fino al 11-11 con Bortolani e Tomasini trascinatori delle rispettive squadre.

Poi Rieti accelera improvvisamente con un 0-14 firmato da Tomasini, Jones e Casini che portano il tabellone sul 11-25, incrinando qualche certezza biancorossa.

London e Raffa provano con 5 punti a sistemare un po’ le cose, ma uno scatenato Jones chiude il periodo con la bomba del 13-28

In apertura di secondo quarto Legnano ricuce con Ferri e London fino al -10 del 18-28 e, dopo un paio di canestri per parte, arriva anche al -9 del 24-33 con la tripla di Bianchi.

Rieti risponde con Nikolic, Legnano segna ancora da 3 con London, ma gli ospiti rimangono in doppia cifra di vantaggio con Tomasini e Nikolic, prima delle due triple di Bortolani e di uno strepitoso Tomasini che fissano il 33-43 di metà tempo.

Dopo la pausa lunga utile per la presentazione di tutto il settore minibasket dei Knights, Rieti mette 4 punti in fila e prova la fuga, ma Legnano risponde con i liberi di Bozzetto e il gioco da 4 punti di Bortolani del 39-49.

Nel momento migliore dei Knights, Raffa ruba e va in contropiede e Bozzetto schiaccia il 48-56.

London assiste Serpilli, poi segna da 3 e la Axpo arriva sul 53-56, che si trasforma in pareggio con la bomba di Ferri in transizione dell’angolo.

Raffa in reverse inframezza i liberi di Adegboye e Conti per il 58-59, con il quarto che si chiude 63-64 con gli ultimi centri di Bozzetto, Carenza, Serpilli e Toscano.

All’inizio dell’ultimo periodo non segna nessuno per quasi 3’ fino al libero di Jones e a quello di Raffa del 64-65, in un clima in cui la tensione è palpabile.

Raffa la infila in percussione, Bortolani mette la bomba del 69-65, con Toscano che con i liberi tiene ancora in bilico la gara.

Raffa, con 3’30” da giocare segna i liberi del 71-67, dopo 30 secondi Bozzetto quello del 72-68, ma anche con più di un possesso pieno di vantaggio la gara non è di certo scontata.

Infatti Jones mette la tripla centrale, poi i tre liberi del 72-74, ma la tripla di Ferri fa esplodere il PalaBorsani e il libero di Raffa tengono Legnano avanti sul 76-74 con 26” da giocare.

Toscano segna da sotto il pareggio e dopo il timeout Legnano ha in mano la palla della vittoria con circa 13” sul cronometro.

Raffa la tiene fino alla fine e ha ragione lui con l’uno contro uno e il tiro del 78-76 che vale la seconda vittoria in campionato dei Knights

Partita dai diversi volti con Rieti, più cinica in avvio, ma Legnano trascinata dall’entusiasmo nella seconda parte del match che si chiude con una magia di Raffa, che rimane però solo il simbolo di una vittoria di squadra con tutti i Knights a dare un sostanzioso contributo per il secondo referto rosa della stagione.

Settimana di lavoro classica in previsione della trasferta di Siena, sempre suggestiva e di grande tradizione di domenica prossima.
