open to: m / nb ! plot: amir was a prince married off to the king of a rivaling nation and spends most of his days drinking away his sorrows. he hears the king has a new favorite from your muse that is a knight / royal family member / etc or could also just be something the king overhears if you want your muse to play his role.

" the king may do as he pleases, it has never bothered me what he does in his bed chambers. " amir murmured, his brims brushing over the rim of the goblet clutched between his palms. a small shadow of an upturn tugging at the edges of his mouth. he'd been the king consort for as long as he could remember, and yet he could count on one hand the number of times he'd spent in the king's chambers. this union was naught more than a frail tie to their countries, a play 'pon power to show his husband's enemies the strength he had behind him. he managed to claim the last of the alcivar bloodline as his own and ensured they would never cross him again by slaughtering the rest of the royal family. amir could still hear the wails of his sisters, the bloodshed never once escaping his dreams. he should've done more, he should've done so much more .... yet here he sat, in the enemy's kingdom, as the enemy's king consort and wallowed in a pool of wine. his mother must be weeping somewhere in her journey through the afterlife. he would have done so if he were in her place.
