Been playing through 3Hopes atm… Finished rawdogging Chp5 Green Ally dialogue for Rancid Gautier Man and am on Chp7 of Azure Gleam
Ngl I really love how Hopes has way more Fodlani NPCs who are just guys in your army and you can hear their opinions about the current events of the game…
Recent example are two camp NPCs in Chp7; one NPC calls Dimitri stupid for returning to Fhirdiad while a priestess NPC worries about Rhea’s wellbeing in Camulus
I also love that in battle, when you defeat enemy forces - they have defeat dialogue ranging from ‘aw fuck I lost this sucks :(‘, ‘oh god I can never show my face to my comrades’ or ‘you’ll pay for this!! but also I don’t wanna die so I’ll run like a little bitch’
The world feels so much more alive and that it exists beyond just the named characters

wipwed Dimitri is out here fighting for his life and Byleth has no idea
"I doubt we'll be attending the same parties, Your Grace." "Nonsense!" he said. His posture wasn't that of a proper gentleman. Elbow on the table, he leaned heavily to rest his head on his hand. He narrowed his eyes, as if evaluating her. "A woman as lovely and charming as you will have no trouble marrying far above her station." She snorted, choking on her food. His Grace pushed a glass of water towards her with concern in his eyes. When she'd caught her breath, she said, "I think you're the only man in Fodlan that would consider me charming." "If that's true, then it is a terribly foolish country, and I shall have to steal you away to Albinea to be properly appreciated." She was too stunned to respond, and it must have seemed as if she was offended. He cleared his throat and pulled his hands into his lap, a reversal of his relaxed posture before. "I'm only joking, of course. My apologies. I've never had much of a sense of humor."

I got no fancy intro, here are Claude's accusations of Rhea being violently against change being debunked by both Hopes and Houses. This exchange acts as if neither Dimitri nor the central church hasn't already reformed Fodlan for the past 2 years and long before Edelgard's war.
Another thing to point out is that Claude operates under the logic that someone who's committed crimes cannot ever change their ways and must be dealt with through force and yet he gives Edelgard a free pass despite violently invading Leicester. All that aside let's begin.
Claude: I'm just gonna come out and say it: After the war, I'm going to abolish the Central Church and depose the archbishop. The people of Fódlan have been shackled by this decrepit system for too long, and I'm ending it.
Dimitri: You're going to do away with the church?
Claude: That's right. Think about it. Who steals your freedom and gives you an endless list of duties and obligations simply because you have a Crest? Who forces you and your friends into a bunch of unwanted marriages and positions of power?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Claude: The church even forbids any official contact with outside regions! Not exactly great for Faerghus, right? Being as close to Sreng and Albinea as you are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Claude: They use social status to justify prejudice, and have no tolerance for those who come from anywhere else. Or who don't believe in their teachings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Again Rhea has so much power over Faerghus that she might as well be the monarch herself instead of Dimitri. If she was against change then she would've hindered Dimitri's efforts to go against her very religious laws.
But she isn't and even if she was she only has control over Faerghus and not Leicester nor Adrestia for them to act like she keeps the entirety of Fodlan stagnant.

I found this lichen in okemos, Michigan, USA. My best guess is starry rosette (physcia Stellaris) but it doesn't look 1:1 with the little field guide I have. Sorry the picture isn't as good as I thought it was. Curious what you think. Found on an old metal bridge in the forest ^_^
Tumblr media
Ahh the Physcias. A delightful genus, but morphologically variable and so not easy to ID. Since it is growing on metal (wow that's incredible) I would think it is more likely a species that grows on rocks like Physcia albinea or Physcia subtilis, but lichens also like to mess with us so I could be wrong. It's too far away to make out many features so I can't say, but I am glad you are trying and making lichen friends along the way!

Regarding the isolationism post‚ I looked at the hopes datamine to double check‚ and 2 out of 3 countries trade outside Fodlan. Aegir to the east (e.g. Morfis)‚ and Dominic with Albinea. Leicester is a bit iffy since Edmund has islands and is a hub for merchants (but I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say that it's trade with the other countries). Unless this is a different type of isolationism that I'm not familiar with.
Even without that, Almyra, the place that keeps trying to fuck over Fodlan for literal shits and giggles, has some form of trade be done with it because Fodlan manages to get shit from eastern Almyra (Almyran Tea Blend). And that's without mentioning all of the other foods and teas and shit they get from foreign countries! Plus the entire existence of a set of traveler's journals that detail someone's personal experiences with foreign countries that is readily available in the biggest religious center of Fodlan also swerves Fodlan away from being this isolationist nightmare some folks claim it to be.
Like I'm not going to sugarcoat it Claude was wrong. Incorrect. Not right. He himself directly alludes to his own incorrectness in 3H. It's not about lying it's not about being sneaky it's not about trickery and obfuscation and schemes the guy was wrong. Like oh my god can we please just let characters be wrong sometimes none of us are five we should be able to handle a character being wrong sometimes

Concerning Claude’s ideals...
Looking at the other nations outside of Fodlan. Sreng is a desert wasteland, fighting over territory they’ve lost to the Kingdom. Albinea is in a similar state, resulting in a small population that can’t grow food due to arctic conditions. If anything, Claude using trade to help promote his ideals would benefit these nations as they can help them with food. Likewise, Morfis is a metropolis that is part of a web of trading routes so it’s not hard to get them involved. Claude getting Almyra involved with trade would make it easier for him to get Morfis involved, as marching an army through a massive dessert to invade would be a disaster. Brigid would be good for a trading post, and it’s also said to be bountiful so it’s not like food is scarce there.
Dagda is the question mark. Shamir calls the organization she was a part of there as one big mercenary state. Shamir mentions how Dagda felt “freer” than Fodlan in her support with Hapi, but there was more conflicts over there as more people did whatever they wanted. Considering she’s in no hurry to go back, like Cyril, really shows she has issues with the place. Also reminds me of how Claude only starts learning rulers have duties and responsibilties when he comes to Fodlan despite being Almyran nobility.
Might need to revisit my theory about how Almyra was also founded by members of the Elite’s clans who fled Fodlan rather than submit to the Empire.
The fact Shamir mentions she was part of a mercenary state, and the link that said organization was the one who attacked Nuvelle... fuck, someone likely paid Dagda to invade the Empire and got Brigid involved in the process. And considering it's Fodlan, it was likely Thales.

Hi. I'm here to show everyone my baby for FE OC Week.
Tumblr media
Her name is Vivian Timurovna. She's an apprentice to Hanneman in Crest research, looking to find answers to something that haunts her past. She half Fodlani and half Albinean. Technically, she's second in line to the Albinean throne, just behind her older brother.
Fun game stuff under the cut!
Tumblr media
Template by @peachiehambo
She's technically an au oc. Essentially, au where everything stays the same except what if the Brigid-Dagda wars happened earlier? and what if Albinea got involved lol?
Also, she does have a war phase design. but i cant find that image for the life of me. so just trust it exists!
Her alignment pre-timeskip is to the church by technicallity, but once war starts she hits da bricks to Leicester. She stays there for a year and a half before leaving for albinea to look for her brother who she parted from when the monastery fell. She doesnt find him there but she takes the crown in his place. She returns to fodlan in 1185 to help continue the fight
Fun fact: if she were an actual character, she would not be recruitable in crimson flower in the same way as hilda. She would be recruitable in silver snow, but only optionally in a paralogue.
Her personal skill would be something called Stay With Me. I imagine it working like "At the start of Player Phase, any ally within 3 spaces of Vivian recovers health equal to 25% of damage she sustained in enemy phase."
She would have a personal class! it's working name is Kulikovo. It would work similar to the Malig Knight class in Fates. except she would wield dual swords instead of an axe.
I don't know what all else to add here. so I will just thank you for taking the time to meet my baby bibi <3

Hopes Bylie going in her own little silly adventures by herself... Why is Miklan so scared of her? Why does she have a secret handshake with Duchess Ifan? Why does she have matching tattoos with Judith von Daphnel? Why was she named, due to a technicallity, the red star of Enbar (a famous pageant for handsome men in Enbar)? How did she teach briefly in Fhirdiad's Academy of Sorcery? Why was she charged for tax evasion in Albinea? While the blue lions were doing War (tm) in Hopes, my girl perfected her srengsi, was stranded to Brigid for two weeks, accidentally seduced an almyran princess and adopted an ugly turtle that might or not might have been Indech (since she was an awful archer, she ignored The Inexhaustible and tried to keep him as a pet against his will).
[[At camp dining with the blue lions about Duchess Ifan]]
Byleth: We met in prison. She was my cellmate.
Ifan: We even have matching BFF tattoos with Judy too!
Dimitri: Judy?
Byleth: Oh right, I think her name was Judith von Daphnel.
Dimitri: You were ALL in prison?!
Byleth: I think Judy was there for a spying mission.
Ifan: I was charged for treason by Cornelia.
Byleth: I was charged for intent of murder of a noble with a deadly weapon.
Ifan: Oh Byllie, dear, don't be shy, please share the details.
Byleth: I threw an alligator at viscount Kleimann.
Byleth: ... I was spearfishing in the river, and when I finally got the pike I wanted... I realized there was a man reaching for my fish... I just wanted to scare him away from my food... I didn't want to release the fish I just caught so I reached for the closest thing... how was I supppose to know that he wouldn't dodge the alligator I threw at him?... so I was charged with intent of murder of a noble with a deadly weapon.
Ifan: Can you see why we love her so much now, my dear?
Dimitri:
The rest of the blue Lions:
Dedue: Would you like an extra slice of meatpie miss Eisner?
THIS REMINDS ME OF RATATOUILLE more specifically that one dude that went to prison and when asked seems to always change the story but I maintain that he probably did ALL of the things he confesses to in the same crime, somehow. Byleth would have the wackiest backstory, and yet all of it is true or actually understated/downplayed
I can't remember if it was Engage or Heroes, but if I'm not mistaken I think that Byleth says that their lecture style usually consisted of telling stories. So their teaching style seems to stem from their practical experiences as a mercenary and how so-and-so strategy can apply at any given situation.
So all this to say that yes, I can see Byleth having the WACKIEST experiences ever, and being extremely casual about it. And having best friend tattoos with Judith and Duke Ifan.
Judith and Duke Ifan also deserved more time in the limelight I conceptually love these two so much.
Thank you for sharing this ask with me Nonnie! (And sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been in a weird headspace all week)

Just posted Chapter 2 of Encyclopedia of Fódlan's Insects! 💙💚
Tumblr media
(Yes, I'm already regretting the long title)
In this chapter, we have some flirting, sparring, some flirting while sparring, unnecessary Albinea lore, and my unhinged author notes.

finally introducing everyone to my fe3h fanhouse, the ivory swans !!! this house essentially serves as an exchange student program for students that dont really have an affiliation with the three nations of fodlan. they mean… very much to me…….
i’ll put little bios of them all under the cut ! :-)
Aurora de Voll Heir to the Albinean throne and house leader for the IS, she's been sent to Fodlan to foster good relations! She's very gentle and calm and also a huuuge perfectionist.
Freya Frederic Naess Aurora's vassal since childhood, she's a massive animal lover who prefers spending time outside enjoying the summery weather they never get to experience back in Albinea.
Cassandra Nikos A mysterious student who often talks about her 'isolated childhood'. While incredibly kind and slightly airheaded, she seems to be connected to Cornelia in some way.......
Florence von Giselle A decade before the Academy era, the Giselle family was exiled from the Adrestian Empire after Florence's father's connections to the disgraced House Hrym were discovered.
Christoph von Emre A noble from Dagda who is fourth in line to inherit the title of Duke. Believing that he will never come to lead House Emre, Christoph is adverse to the idea of growing up and gaining responsibility, preferring to spend his time exploring the monastery and looking at bugs.
Aiyla Daphnis Being one of few survivors of the Tragedy of Duscur, Aiyla has had to look out for herself from a young age. Losing her parents in the tragedy led to her developing a deep hatred for the Kingdom of Faerghus and anyone who supported the massacres and she strives for revenge against those responsible.
Romeo Burhan Romeo was an only child of an Almyran family living near the Alliance-Almyra border. When the constant battles and fights grew closer and closer to his home, his parents became fearful for their safety and as a last resort put him in the care of his uncle who smuggled them into Fodlan under fake names.
Benjamin Erling Benjamin was the eldest child of a family residing in Daphnel. When he was ten his family fell on hard times and was no longer able to provide for their many children, as Benjamin was the eldest they made the choice to abandon him in hopes of being able to save their money. Since then he has fended for himself, making friends with other children he met on the streets, most notably his closest friend Romeo.

look at a shit headcanon :
Tumblr media
- and have a shit family tree that is completely unreadable bcs i can't take pictures and my handwriting is shit :
Willy starts the tree, he and someone (rhea?) got Lycaon, who himself got a kid with Gloucester's 52nd daughter, but the kid left Fodlan to explore the world.
That branch died.
(The Gloucester legend about them having a Seiros crest doesn't come from Lycaon, but from Ionius 4's third daughter, who married in the Gloucester family because Enbarr needed money)
But Willy had many other kids with many randoms (the +120 kids) who in turn got Helga 1 (tfw i don't know how to write), the Empress who waged her throne in a duel against Derrick, Ferdie's ancestor. Helga married some dude, and got Ionius 1.
And then it's a long period, where Emperors have kids and their useless kids (the ones who aren't inheriting anything) have kids themselves (the rumour that everyone from Ochs to Aegir has a link to the Imperial Household!), until Ionius 8.
Ionius 8 seduced and a random lady with blue hair - who was Marianne's grandma's sister - and got Ionius 9, who in turn got many children. However, fearing for his dynasty, Ionius 8 had his Vestra clean all the branch lines, which is why there is a blurb that was Vestra'd.
Momo's line starts by him gardening a lot and sowing wild oats, who gardened too and ultimately led to the Marianne's great grandparent, who is the common ancestor she shares with Supreme Leader.
So I had this haha funny fun headcanon that Pan, Loog's strategist, was actually a Nabatean instead of a slitherer.
This has evolved into a full-blown oc with tons of backstory, character interactions filled with lizard lore, and at least 3 fix-it aus. Please help
How can I help if I'm in the same situation lol
Send your headcanons anon !

PROMPT 3. AND THE PARTY KEEPS GOING
Time stops for no one, and so this year’s Ethereal Ball begins to amble toward a close. Most attendees stay in the ballroom or its masquerade equivalent, determined to squeeze more dancing and socializing into this evening. Some, exhausted by the night’s festivities, head off to their dorm rooms for a well-deserved night of sleep.
But the night is still far from over! And yet more students are eager to party for as long as they can, especially after weeks of hearing that certain intrepid merchants would be selling hot street food long into the night. Wandering into the town square, you find it bright and filled with festivities: warm food, hard drinks, and small houses rented for private parties among friends.
Warm up with some food…
[ Mulled wine ] - Warm red wine spiced to perfection, ideal for staving off winter’s chill.
[ Chocolate fountain ] - A seemingly endless fountain of chocolate, accompanied by plenty of biscuits, cakes, and cookies to dip in.
[ “Pegasus Cheese” ] - Zofia’s most famed and exotic export (allegedly). A delicate yet firm cheese with a savory, salty, and buttery flavor that pairs well with fruit. It’s good, but perhaps not worth the price tag…
[ H-True-O Water ] - Originating from an artesian aquifer from the frigid lands of Albinea, this bottled water is boasted to be the finest in the world. With all that marketing thrown at you, you can really taste the difference!
[ Forestberry Jamwich ] - A recent mainstay across Fódlan, this sandwich combines sweet jam made from Fódlan’s summer berries with a savory paste made from ground Dagdan peanuts.
[ Romanesco Smoothie ] - A sweet milkshake with a pretty green color. The whipped cream and fruity taste mask the fact that half of this was made with broccoli and other vegetables. Good for sweet tooths who refuse to eat their greens.
[ Dona Dona Fried Set ] - A full-blown meal all on its own, featuring juicy fried chicken, deep-fried cheese with tomato sauce, and a basket of fried potato slices. Every bite you take tastes so good, but feels so bad.
[ Street Crepe ] - A novel take on an old classic, these handheld, stuffed crepes come in varieties both savoury and sweet. A light and fluffy treat to cap off the evening.
Not feeling hungry?
[ Splash ] - Amid the decorations brought in for the occasions is a beautiful three tier fountain sculpted in with Seiros in mind. Come refresh yourselves! But do try not to get soaked.
[ Fireflies ] - Also known as lightning bugs. Get it? … Maybe you want to catch the show, or maybe you want to catch the bugs. It's strange though - are they a new, more resilient species, perhaps? It is the middle of winter after all...
[ Wish ] - Have you ever wanted to wish upon a star, but never been lucky enough to witness the real thing? That's too bad, because these magical stars streaking across the sky probably still don't count, but they are gorgeous - and more than pretty enough to watch with a special someone else.
[ Goddess Tower, Redux ] - Maybe you've already tried and fallen flat on your face earlier this eve. Or have you perhaps been nervously biding your time? The night is young but it trust that it will come to an end - so there's no time like the present to gather your courage and make known your love! Plus the view of the open skies is gorgeous all on its own, and well worth the climb for any singleton too.
[ Lucky Charms ] - What's a magical night without some souvenirs? A particularly enterprising merchant who's been around for the past few balls has come up with a genius lucrative lovely idea: charms and bracelets with the chosen year's theme, so as to remember it by... You should totally get matching versions for your friends, too!
[ Say 'Fromage'! ] - The alumna is already in town with her Photo-Artifex replica and, thanks to many of you, she's done with her testing much earlier than anticipated! She promises a one-of-a-kind keepsake in the form of 'photos' ranging from serious to silly, a variety of props to choose from included. If you're feeling particularly daring, maybe you'll even try out the artifex-box?
Missing something else to cap off your magical soirée? Go for it!

Random thought of I wonder how often Fodlan gets earthquakes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vague memories of geography lessons tell me mountain ranges happen when two tectonic plates meet and one goes above the other, pushing one of them down and the other up (meaning there are a lot of corresponding deep sea crevices somewhere)
Because we've got the Oghma Mountains where Garreg Mach is in the middle. And the mountains that make up the Throat in the East. And that little range in South Adrestia in Hresvelg, and another over in the Fangs (South West). And then the mountains that separate Duscur and Sreng from Fodlan in the North. And another little range over in Albinea
So lots of tectonic movement in the area, meaning in theory lots of earthquakes
Unless when Sothis remade Fodlan after her little spat with the Agarthans she just randomly grew mountain for the giggles. . ?
I'm debating with myself on if Aielle is evidence of the mountains are natural or not, because sure lava/magma/whichever it is is close to the surface, but the area was hit by the pillars of light and is a valley at the end of the Oghma range, so hmmmmmm
