EXCLUSIVE: The release of Akshay Kumar's Sky Force has been confirmed for Republic Day 2025.

On August 14, Bollywood Hungama was the first to reveal that the Akshay Kumar-starring film Sky Force would not be released in theaters on October 2 as planned. As expected, the revelation sparked speculation about the film's new release date - will it be later this year or next year?

Bollywood Hungama has discovered that the producers have set a release date for Sky Force. According to our source, "Sky Force" will be released in theaters on January 24, 2025. It will be released on Republic Day, which is an appropriate time to present it to viewers as a patriotic entertainer. "An official announcement will follow soon."

There were rumors that Sky Force's promotion will be tied to the Independence Day release, Stree 2. This is because, like Sky Force, Stree 2 is produced by Jio Studios and Maddock Films. However, after the decision to postpone the Akshay Kumar-starrer was made, the plan to unveil the teaser was abandoned.

This also indicates that there will be no more Akshay Kumar movies in 2024. This year, he has had three releases: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Khel Khel Mein. Khel Khel Mein coincidentally coincided with Stree 2 on August 15. Akshay also made a great cameo in Stree 2.

Sky Force will be Akshay Kumar's sixth release over the Republic Day week. His first film, Saugandh (1991), was released on January 25. The recently released trailer for Oh My God 2 aka OMG 2 has piqued fans' interest in the sequel. While the previous film was centred on a heated argument about the business of religion and calling into question the belief in religious organisations and self-proclaimed godmen, this one is set to tackle a different topic. While fans are excited to see Akshay Kumar reprise his role as the Almighty, did you know that the script was cleared while the actor was hospitalised?

According to a source close to the actor, Akshay Kumar was battling COVID-19 when he was offered the script. According to the source, "the final script of OMG 2 was locked when Akshay Kumar was hospitalised. It all happened when AK was down with COVID and it was severe. To ensure the safety of his family, he had silently checked himself into a hospital in Mumbai. From that room when he was on the hospital bed, AK was having the final discussions on the script via video calls. It was there that the final script of OMG2 was locked."

In terms of OMG 2, Pankaj Tripathi plays the protagonist who fights against the system, while Yami Gautam plays the opposing counsel. The film stars Akshay Kumar as the Lord, who will play Lord Shiva this time around, as opposed to Kanhaiya aka Lord Krishna in the prequel.

The film, directed by Amit Rai, also stars Arun Govil, Govind Namdev, Pawan Malhotra, and Brijendra Kalra in supporting parts, and is set to be released on August 11. The release of the film is expected to coincide with the release of Gadar 2, starring Utkarsh Sharma, Sunny Deol, and Ameesha Patel.
