Ajinomoto National Training Center
Hoshiumi, about Sakusa and Atsumu : My god, would you two just get a room already?
Sakusa : Excuse me?
Atsumu : What?
Komori : You both just keep agreeing about horrifying things and relishing everybody else's misery. So seriously, when's the wedding?
Atsumu : ...
Kageyama : I ship it.
Sakusa : CAN YOU NOT?

Warnings: suggestive content, mentions of sex
Having Oikawa as a temporary roommate doesn’t sound too bad at first.
Unless you’re dating his best friend, Hajime Iwaizumi.
Both you and Iwaizumi have been high school sweethearts, now dating officially for almost 8 years.
While your boyfriend, actually fiancé now, is working as an athletic trainer for the national Japanese volleyball team, you work as a pharmacist in the local hospital.
When Iwaizumi came home after a work-out one night, he had an annoyed expression on his face when he entered your apartment.
Pausing your actions on making dinner, you know that face already.
"What?"
Iwaizumi sighs, drops his gym bag and walks over to you with an exhausted expression.
"Those shitheads are really getting on my last nerves. Thought I lost them all already back in high school with Oikawa." The brunette hugs you from behind and can feel himself relax when he smells the familiar smell of your pineapple and coconut shampoo.
Which reminds you.
Oikawa texted you yesterday, asking if he can stay at your place for a week while he is training with his Argentinian team at the Ajinomoto National Training Center.
And the Setter knows the former Outside Hitter all too well, knowing 100% already that Iwaizumi would just leave him on read when he reads Oikawa’s message about staying at your guys’ place.
Which is why Oikawa asked you instead, knowing you’re Iwaizumi‘s kryptonite.
And Iwaizumi can never say no to you.
"Say love, don’t be mad at me."
The bliss on Iwaizumi’s face disappears and he turns you around to look at you with a frown on his face.
"What did you do?"
"Uhm… you know how much I love you? Your muscles certainly got a LOT bigger-" Tracing his firm pegs with your finger, you start to get distracted.
"Don’t try and sweet talk your way out of this. Just tell me." He gives you that look.
"Oikawa is coming to visit Japan and he needs a place to stay."
"And?"
You look at him with pleading eyes and he realizes immediately.
With big eyes, he steps away from you and the realization turns into deep annoyance.
Iwaizumi turns around to walk to your shared bathroom, he can’t deal with this right now.
"So does that mean you’re okay with it?" You call after him.
The only reply you hear, is a frustrating scream coming from the shower after a while.
"Eh, he’ll be fine." You mutter as you turn around to finish dinner.
The next day, Oikawa arrives bright and early at your front door, thankfully you’re both already awake, due to Iwaizumi’s early morning jog routine and you having the opening shift of the pharmacy.
A storm of the ringing doorbell makes the athletic trainer walk towards the door, and when Iwaizumi opens it, Oikawa jumps to hug Iwaizumi.
Not seeing in coming, Iwaizumi falls to the ground with a loud grunt, impacted by Oikawa’s weight.
"Get off of me you stupid idiot!" He pushes Oikawa off and can feel himself breathe again.
"But Iwa-chaaaaaaaan! I missed you dearly! Is this the way to greet your best friend who you haven’t seen in 4 years??" Oikawa pouts and when this chocolate brown eyes find yours, he yells your name out excitedly and runs towards you with alarming speed.
"My beautiful future best-friend-in-law looks gorgeous as always!" The giant Setter hugs you tight.
Giggling at his enthusiastic hug, you return it.
"It’s nice to have you here Tōru." You smile at him, parting from Oikawa.
"Come on, Shittykawa, let’s go on a seven mile run, like I do every morning."
The Setter pales like a ghost at that.
"But- I just got here and you’re already making me run? You can treat those mediocre third class athletes at the gym like that but not me, your best friend who just traveled half the globe to see you!" Oikawa tries to make an excuse but it doesn’t sit well with Iwaizumi.
"I am dead serious. Get your Argentinian ass outside, now."
Huffing in defeat, the brunette joins his best friend.
Now, originally Oikawa only meant to stay for a week, but one week turned into two and now the stay is reaching the third week.
In the beginning, it was only a stay because of training but now the practice time is over and before the real game starts, the coaches gave them two weeks off additionally.
You have the patience of a saint, really, while Iwaizumi feels each day his patience getting thinner and thinner. You can’t blame your partner, since he sees him at work AND at home.
The worst part for Iwaizumi is, he can’t have sex with you, because whenever he tries to seduce you or vice versa, the Setter seems to have a hidden talent on knowing when the two of you want some alone time.
On the couch, in the kitchen, the bathroom, you can’t even have alone time in your own bedroom because Oikawa is bursting in your bedroom every night, complaining and gossiping about every. single. player. while laying in the middle between you and Iwaizumi.
But now, even your patience begins to run out, your sexual frustration beginning to eat you alive.
So on a Tuesday night, you and Iwaizumi want to go out on a date, hopefully stopping by a hotel afterwards to relieve some of that tension. Or all of it.
And Oikawa wants to tag along, not wanting to be left alone in the apartment by himself, while the athletic trainer is trying to hint at his best friend that he wants to have sex with you.
"Why can’t I come with you?" The Setter whines.
"Because (Y/N) and I are going out tonight, we want some privacy to ourselves, because you couldn’t give us any for the last damn three weeks."
Oikawa nods.
"Just the two of us."
He nods again.
"Alone." Iwaizumi feels like speaking to a four year old.
"Alright, no problem, I’ll try to hit up Matsun or Maki." Oikawa whistles while making himself comfortable on the couch again, texting his former teammates.
Iwaizumi feels his anger rising abruptly, about to snap his neck and before you have to clean up a crime scene, you push your lover out of the apartment before an accidental murder happens.
In the end, you and Iwaizumi don’t even make it to dinner because you teased him during the ride, caressing his thigh up and down.
You don’t come back to the apartment for another two days, missing thousands of messages from Oikawa, enjoying each others bodies like you did the first time you got intimate.

synopsis: you're volunteering at the all-japan youth training camp, and you actually make some friendly admirers along the way. but there’s one black-haired, frowny setter boy who stands out the most to you.
word count: 1.3k
mentions: pure fluff, gender neutral volleyball player!reader, cw food/eating
even if it meant taking off a week from your own training, it was beyond exciting to volunteer for the all-japan youth training camp—but as much as you tried to remind yourself that this was a priceless opportunity, you were inevitably envious of those who would actually get to play this week.
so here you were, strolling towards the front of the ajinomoto national training center with your hands shoved deep into your winter coat pockets, a wool scarf engulfing the lower half of your face, and a scowl resting on your lips as you huff and puff against the itchy fabric, pondering about how great it would feel to be in uniform instead of typical winter clothing.
“someone’s a lil’ cold, aren’t they?”
you hear a man chuckle behind you, and you feel your cheeks burn up as you turn around and catch sight of a tall, blonde boy sporting a clean black undercut and a teasing smile. he walks quickly, but once he reaches you, he slows down to match your pace, taking his hands out of his tracksuit pockets to cross his arms.
“what’s a cutie like you doing here? it doesn’t look like yer here for the camp,” he remarks, leaning forwards to catch a peek of your frowning face shielded by the hood of your coat.
you mutter under your breath that you’re volunteering at the camp to catch balls and do some other dumb tasks rather than actually playing, and he smiles slyly.
“work hard then ‘cause you’ll still hav’ to keep up with me.”
you could’ve sworn that he winked at you before he nonchalantly sped up his pace and entered the building. what an ass, you thought to yourself, silently cursing him as you reach the front doors.
but as you enter the main gymnasium, the sight of the huge volleyball courts and the flat screen television live broadcasting the entire gym leave you speechless and forgetful of the encounter that occurred just moments ago. you can’t help but gape open-mouthed at your surroundings as you stand in the middle of the two courts and take in the sight of everything from the huge light fixtures dangling above to the multitude of players warming up.
there’s a tap on your shoulder, and a boy with floppy chestnut hair and thick, round eyebrows is grinning sheepishly at you.
“are you lost?”
at this moment, your cheeks flare up again when you realize that you’re the only one in the whole gymnasium bundled up in thick winter clothing. and with that, you notice that many of the boys in the room are glaring at you confusedly too.
“oh no, i-i’m just a volunteer,”
you smile politely back at the boy, frantically pulling off your coat and scarf and bowing your head towards him. he looks like he’s about to introduce himself and extend his hand, but you’re already rushing towards the front of the gymnasium to meet with the coordinator and escape the eyes that seem to follow you everywhere.
quickly after the coach introduces himself and delivers a typical motivational spiel, the boys of the camp are warming up and playing practice sets. you stand at the end of one of the courts, intently following the ball with your eyes and thoroughly tracking the players and their next moves.
as the morning progresses, you learn the names of many of the players—from atsumu the prick you met outside the training center to komori the sweet boy who initially asked if you were lost. but there’s one boy who draws your attention the most out of everyone in the room.
whether it’s admiration for his skill or just solely physical attraction or a combination of both, you can’t take your eyes off of tobio kageyama.
so much so that one time the ball actually comes straight at your face and takes your eyes off of him for you. and unfortunately for you, the boys see this happen—so you’re almost certain that at this point they must think you’re an absolute fool.
but you’re actually unaware of how some of them steal admirable glances at you during breaks or leave their fingers lingering over yours for a few seconds too long as you hand them a water bottle. or even the select few of them (looking at atsumu) that like to check your expression as soon as they pull off an impressive play.
the boys of the training camp think your intense game expression and devotion to the game is more adorable than anything, and so you actually slowly find yourself warming up to casual conversation with the ones who approach you.
actually, you warm up to nearly all of them except for kageyama—the first year player from karasuno with messy black hair and cold eyes focused on setting and really nothing else.
honestly, it isn’t until lunch that he even takes notice of you.
sitting alone at a table and sipping milk through a straw, the setter is caught off guard when his eyes meet yours. he’s a bit startled at first by your intense and enthusiastic glare, reminding him of a certain orange-haired doofus back at home.
but when he processes that you’re just looking for a spot to sit, he absentmindedly scoots over and shifts his tray (even though the entire table he’s sitting at is empty). the poor boy blushes and glances down when he notices how dumb he probably appears to look, but what he doesn’t see is the grin that crosses your face as you approach his table.
you introduce yourself first, and before kageyama has the chance to introduce himself, you blabber that you know who he is and also how talented he is and now both of you sport flushed cheeks and the inability to make eye contact.
however, as you attempt to make conversation and start talking about your own volleyball team and teammates, his ears perk up and he’s listening intently.
and with that, your conversation begins to bounce back and forth as he starts to talk about his team too—about hinata “the wannabe ace” to tsukishima the “unnecessarily tall, four eyed jerk” to just about everyone else on his team.
lunch goes by quickly that day. a little too quickly, in kageyama’s opinion.
but as the days go by, and with each lunch that passes, the two of you grow to know each other better—you learn about the time hinata served directly into kageyama’s head, and the two of you share a lot of good laughs about mishaps. your conversations even sometimes draw the attention of other guys at the camp who occasionally join you at the table, only to be deterred by the fact that kageyama’s eyes are only for you and vice versa.
when the final day of camp arrives, your friendship with kageyama is set in stone the moment you hand him an extra milk carton that you picked up from the lunch line. he feels the same warmth rush to his cheeks as it did the first day when you sat with him, and he murmurs his appreciation with his eyes avoiding yours, solely making eye contact with the cow on the milk carton.
before practice ends that day, you muster up the courage to scribble your number down on the back of a paper, crumple it up, and shove it into kageyama’s palm in passing.
“maybe i’ll see you around, country bumpkin?”
and as the tips of his ears go bright red and a soft smile graces his lips, you know this won’t be the last time you’ll hear from tobio kageyama.

A Wall (Not) Too Tall [Haikyuu]
Warning: Manga spoilers
The bus squeaked to a halt in the driveway of an upscale hotel in Tokyo, ready to accept its modestly famous cargo. Black Jackals personnel hoisted luggage into the coach’s underbelly, while the distinguished athletes themselves mingled in the lobby, mostly unbothered by hotel guests.
On a coffee table in a corner of the lobby, Atsumu’s glass, coated in condensation, clinked when the ice broke and floated to the top. Hinata was stretched back on the opposite couch, texting Kageyama about the luxuriousness of the room he and Atsumu shared last night.
“You’re surprisingly calm,” Miya teased the wing spiker.
The Black Jackals were headed to Seoul, Korea, for a rare international exhibition game. It was the first time the Black Jackals would visit Korea for a match. Bokuto lauded all the cool stuff they’d see, Sakusa asked the internet for cultural hygiene standards, and Atsumu pretended to be cool and laidback, although team captain Meian teased him for being one of the most nervous of them all.
But Hinata…what Atsumu didn’t realize was Hinata took solace texting on his phone to clear his excitement.
He was texting Kageyama, because the Adlers last year had been selected for the foreign game.
“I think that’s near Ajinomoto,” Tobio replied when Hinata mentioned the hotel. Clearly Kageyama’s sense of direction had improved. He was referring to the national training center, where coincidentally Kageyama had attended the youth camp years ago.
The reply made Hinata sit up cross-legged on the couch. Miya peered at him. The ice in the glass threatened to melt.
With tenacity that took even Atsumu by surprise, Hinata immediately scoured the map on his phone for directions to the training center. It was but ten minutes away, if he ran.
“Hey, Coach! How much time do we have?”
Coach Samson Foster chatted with a hotel rep when the young player interrupted. Due to a logistics issue, it would take longer to load up than expected. He told Hinata about 30 minutes.
“Tsum-Tsum!” Shouyou cried, adopting Bokuto’s nickname by osmosis. “Can you show me the training center? I want a pic.”
Although the endless energy of Bokuto and Hinata usually suffocated him, Atsumu found the sprout’s reservoir more pleasing to the taste buds than his senior’s. The youthful vigor was on full display here as Shouyou Hinata bounced out of the hotel, almost too fast for Atsumu Miya to realize what was happening. He sprinted after the spiker, leaving the sweating glass to warm up in the lobby. …

東京四間運動相關機構 帶你了解日本對運動的投資有多深
2019年10月底參加了台灣運動醫學醫學會TASM的日本東京運動醫學參訪,見識到日本國立體育科學研所JISS(Japan institute of Sports Sciences)跟國家培訓中心NTC(National Training Center),以及許多讓人讚嘆不已的運動醫學相關醫院與學校。
Sports medicine and science clinic:
You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

My totally-not-over-the-top research for At First Click led me to Ajinomoto National Training Center today & I thought I’d share some of the pictures I took for those of you who are curious about these things!
While I was already on my way back to Akabane station, I belatedly realised this actually isn’t the place I originally imagined AFC!Rin training --- but it’s only two blocks away from Toyo University’s General Sports Center (where I’m guessing Hirai Norimasa usually oversees some of the athletes underneath his wing)! At least I don’t have to adjust the address of the apartment building I picked out for him as well... ^^;
I strongly feel like both of these facilities would make great candidates for places Rin and/or Haruka might eventually end up training at (either as transfer students at Toyo University or as graduates), though, so I hope this information will come in handy to other writers/artists. It’s unfortunately not the club we see Haruka training in with Free! ES ep. 13, but that doesn’t really mean much in the long run. He’ll have to go somewhere after graduating, and... y’know... these two locations have some very nice pools. They’d be pretty damn difficult to resist for someone like Haruka, IMO.
For the record: Ajinomoto NTC was built in 2008 (& JISS in 2001), but Hirai didn’t get his own fancy training facility at Toyo University’s Sports Center until 2013.
Anyway, I wouldn’t say the experience was as spectacular as my visit to Foro Italico with @shimizu-k in 2015, but I got preeeetty excited when I noticed all the TOKYO 2020 stuff & I’m definitely all fired up for AFC’s next chapter now. It’s such a nice area, too... I mean, it’s a lot calmer than Shinjuku/Ikebukuro/Shibuya/etc. Everyone I came across was so ridiculously friendly as well. I just had a genuinely lovely time there!

Marestella Torres-Sunang 70% ready for 30th SEAG Games
#PHnews: Marestella Torres-Sunang 70% ready for 30th SEAG Games
CAPAS, Tarlac -- Veteran long-jumper Marestella Torres-Sunang believes that she has now reached at least 70 percent of her peak in performance as she ruled the women’s long jump of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) athletics test event at the New Clark City (NCC) Athletics Stadium on Saturday.
“Sa December, kailangan nanduon na (By December, I should be ready),” said the 38-year-old Torres-Sunang, who is on her seventh SEA Games stint.
During the test event at the newly-built 20,000-seater NCC Athletics Stadium, Torres-Sunang leaped a distance of 6.2 meters on her fourth attempt to win the gold medal.
In beating her Thai and Vietnamese rivals for the gold, Torres-Sunang moved closer to her target, which is the 6.45-meter mark that earned her the bronze medal back in the 2017 SEA Games.
“Nag-practice na ako dito. Pero this time, may mga foreigners. Hindi naman namin ito focus kasi, siningit lang ito sa training (I practiced here already. But this time, we have foreign rivals. It’s not really our focus, it was just included in our training),” said Torres-Sunang, who set a national record of 6.72 meters which qualified her to the Rio Olympics three years ago.
Thai bet Parinya Chuaimaroeng settled for the silver with her 6.17-meter performance on her fifth attempt, while Vietnamese standout Thi Ngoc Ha Vu took the bronze (6.02 meters) on her first try.
Torres-Sunang's feat came as defending women's discus throw champion Insaeng Subenrat of Thailand heaved a mind-boggling 56.99 meters for the gold medal.
Subenrat's feat surpassed the 55.23-meter heave which won her the gold medal in the 2017 SEA Games, with Filipino bets Daniella Daynata and Aira Teodosio came up with heaves of 38.53 and 37.49 meters respectively for second and third places.
The two-day test event in athletics is expected to show how ready the Filipino tracksters are for the biennial meet which the country will host for the fourth time.
The Philippines will field 72-member athletics' team which put their skills to test against opponents from Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Among the Philippines' toughest challengers is top Vietnamese sprinter Trần Thị Yến Hoa, who will defend her crown in the women's 100-meter hurdles.
Hoa showed up at the 20,000-seat New Clark City athletics' stadium all by herself and is getting ready to face Filipino bets Melissa Escoton and Jelly Diane in today's running events.
Two years ago, Hoa took the gold in 13.4 seconds, and early this year, she had a slower time of 13.79 seconds in the Vietnamese national championships.
Escoton, who had a time of 14.19 seconds in the recent PATAFA Weekly Relays, is her closest foe.
Twenty-four of the total 48 athletics' events in the SEA Games will be played in the test events
In diving at the NCC Aquatic Center, Koh Hui Yan of Malaysia took the women's individual platform honors with 11.8 points, beating Jana Mary Villaflor of the Philippines (8.4 points).
Malaysians Muhammad Syahmi Mohd Rezal and Mohammad Haris Mohd Rezal took a 1-2 finish in the men's 3-m springboard individual finals.
The 30th SEA Games hosting is supported by: Platinum sponsors -- Ajinomoto, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, MG Cars, Philippine Airlines, Skyworth and CooCaa. Gold Sponsors -- MasterCard, Milo, Pocari Sweat, NLEX, PInco and Razer. Preferred -- Asics, SM Lifestyle Inc. and BMW. Prestige -- Molten and Mikasa. Banking Partners -- Chinabank and PNB. The Spin on Aspartame
If you like to learn more about aspartame all you need to do is to type “aspartame”, and browse all the results that will come up. One week will not be enough to browse all the results. There is a lot of information, speculation, researches and studies for this subject.
If you don’t have time to research through all the materials, this article is perfect for you. This article has different approach. It fixes on a small bit of the debate and then it follows it through.
At the beginning, this article focuses on the people who are assuring us it is safe, or simply said-the experts. The same experts from the government, experts from the medical field, everyone are stating that we shouldn’t worry, and if it was harmful they would have tell us.
But the more we research about this subject, the more terrified and skeptical we are. What we will reveal is a great endeavor from the people at the highest levels of our government and the ones at the highest levels of the medical community, to beguile the people about the safety of aspartame.
We all have been tricked about this dangerous product for bigger profits.
Take a look at this video before you continue reading:
youtube
We will start from the beginnings. The company G. D. Searle has developed this product at the first time. Still, the Food and Drug Administration which is a federal agency whose job is ensuring that the food and drugs are safe for us, didn’t approve their product.
Supposedly, the substance was applied on monkeys, in which later were appeared lesions, tumors, seizures and even some of them ended up dead.
The FDA has been rejecting the company’s applications for approval, but they insisted in presenting their own evidences that their product is not dangerous.
When FDA had it enough, they asked Department of Justice to charge G. D. Searle for presentation deceptive test information in their endeavor to get their product ratified. The FDA senior toxicologist Dr. Adrian Gross had something to say about this subject on the Congress: “Behind a shadow of a doubt aspartame stimulates brain tumors.”
Then G. D. Searle made Donald Rumsfeld its CEO. When Ronald Reagan became a president, he included Rumsfeld in his team, and then another FDA commissioner was chosen immediately.
The unnatural sweetener created by the company Donald Rumsfeld was leading, over the objections of the FDA scientific board, was ratified in one of the first acts of the new FDA commissioner.
Also, when it seemed like aspartame will be ratified later on for use in carbonated drinks, the National Soft Drink Association disagreed with this act, claiming that it wouldn’t be safe for people because aspartame is very unsteady when in liquid form and decomposes into formaldehyde, amidst other things.
G.D. Searle was bought in 1985 by Monsanto, and the NutraSweet Company functioned as a part of Monsanto until 2000, and then Monsanto has been sold to J.W. Childs Equity Partners, where it remains today.
Meanwhile, the FDA has composed a list of 92 symptoms related with aspartame consummation. Blindness, deafness, sickness, dizziness, weight gain and even death, are all included in this list. Anyway, aspartame still can be found in the markets, included in more products.
Aspartame Resource Center (www.aboutaspartame.com) claims that aspartame is found in over 6.000 products around the world. You can find some “cheerful” information about the safety of aspartame. Ironically, they even have a part labeled as “Meet the doctors,” where you can read a list of their medical advisory board.
In the medical advisory part, you can read the ARC saying: “The Aspartame Information Center Expert Medical Advisory Board was made to help guide the Center’s communications to health professionals and the public about aspartame gains, safety and role in a healthy diet. The board members are giving counsel on present medical and nutrition science, as well as preview on tools that help address the demands of health professionals in their work. Their backgrounds are covering critical areas of medicine and science, and each has unique experience in health and nutrition.”
Does it sound to you like they don’t really know they are? This “Aspartame Information Center”, what is this? I checked the site(www.aspartame.org) and I saw a pretty large list of “experts”, who are a tool for backing up claims that aspartame is safe, including the Calorie Control Council. As a matter of fact, the Calorie Control Center possesses the Aspartame Information Center site, and you can also read on the bottom that it is listed as a copyright holder.
The Aspartame Resource Center promotes all kinds of “fact” lists that you can download, especially the one called “Straight Answers about Aspartame.” This list is created by the American Dietetic Association and the Calorie Control Council. At the bottom of the fact list you can see that it has been sponsored by aspartame.org. The fact is that the Aspartame Information Center, the Aspartame Resource Center and Ajinomoto are all the same and are considered as the biggest producers of aspartame worldwide.
There is a question- who owns the Calorie Control Council? In its site www.caloriecontrol.org you can read that the Calorie Control Council is founded in 1966 and it stand for 60 producers and suppliers of low-calorie, low-fat and light foods and drinks, where more than 10 different producers and suppliers of dietary sweeteners are included.
If you go deeper you will find another site related to the Calorie Control Council. It is called Calories Count and you can visit it at www.caloriescount.com, where you can see that it is sponsored by Ajinomoto, NutraSweet, Splenda and Sweet ‘N Low. You can take a closer look at their sponsorship page: http://www.caloriescount.com/support.html.
To summarize, the FDA claimed that aspartame was harmful, and they didn’t want to ratify it. But, when the new president and his associate appointed new head of the FDA, the aspartame was immediately ratified after 16 years of being rejected. It is a little bit strange, isn’t it?
And even today, if you like to find more information about aspartame, you will end up on sites full with cheerful and comforting data, which is showing you how safe the aspartame is. Associations like American Dietetic Association are writing this information and are sponsored by aspartame itself!
In order to consult those who were meant to be trusted, the medical experts with the needed knowledge I backed out again to the Aspartame Resource Center.
The first name on the list was C. Wayne Callaway, M.D., where I ended up in another endless rabbit hole.
I visited his Web site and after the opening quote from Hippocrates, I found all kinds of information there. You can read his whole CV there.
1. Wayne Callaway, M.D., finished his medical training at Northwestern University, Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and Harvard University. He is also board certified in Internal Medicine, Clinical Nutrition and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and has held academic assignations at Harvard Medical School, Mayo Medical School and George Washington University.
He was a head of the Public Information Committee of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition and the American Society for Nutrition Sciences, has been a part of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Nutrition, also was a part of the American Heart Association, and has been a counselor to the American Medical Association.
He cooperates with the Mayo Clinic, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the USDA. He was a counselor to the U.S. Surgeon General and assisted in creating dietary directions for the USDA.
He has been working on the heading boards of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, together with other medical magazines. His articles were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, The Annals of Internal Medicine, the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, and the Internal Journal of Obesity and many others.
In his biography you will find that Dr. Callaway’s opinions on nutrition and health are often published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, Wall Street Journal and many other magazines like Time, Newsweek, U.S. News& World Report, Vogue, Elle, Health and many others.
You can also hear his expert statements on nutrition on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, PBS, ESPN and many other televisions. He was a guest on the McNeill-Lehrer Newshour, the Today Show, Good Morning America, Phil Donahue, Larry King Live and other shows and talk programs.
All of this sounds perfect. But if you dig a little bit deeper, you will notice in his CV that hi is a member of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition.
He was also a head of the Public Information Committee of the American Society for Clinical Nutrition. Investigating for the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, you will get straight to the American Society for Nutrition (www.nutrition.org)
Both are publishing the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition which is the highest ranked peer-reviewed magazine in nutrition and dietetics, and the Journal of Nutrition which gives the latest research covering a wide field of topics of crucial interest to researchers, scientists, students, policymakers and ordinary people who have interests in nutrition.
If you do some additional research you will find out that the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, A.K.A. the American Society for Nutrition, is backed up by some “sustaining members”, who are (giving) collecting financial back up for the society’s activities in education, scientific programs and professional outreach. The site claims that the sustaining members are able to sponsor educational probabilities, grants and other items.
Mars, McCormick, Monsanto, Campbell Soup Company, ConAgra Foods, Dannon, The National Dairy Council, Nestle, The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Cadbury Schweppes, Eli Lilly, General Mills, Gerber, GlaxoSmithKline, Kellog, Kraft, PepsiCo, POM Wonderful, Procter&Gamble, The Sugar Association, Unilever, Wrigley and Wyeth are all included in those sustaining members.
Dr. Wayne Callaway is a acknowledged expert in nutrition, who demonstrates before Congress and appears as a guest in some national televisions to declare his statements on food and nutrition.
His statements are released nationally and often. He is surely a national expert and his opinions are taken quite seriously, and are released from respected medical magazines. He also states that the aspartame is not dangerous at all.
He works and writes together with the people who are backed up by the food industry that uses aspartame. He is a hired “medical expert” by the food industry, and his job is to present the safety of the aspartame before the mainstream media.
In his CV you can find that he is an advisor of some government agencies like the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Congress, the USDA and U.S. Postal Service (which is a little odd).
Also, the one that we couldn’t neglect is the FDA. In his Web site you can also read which other institutes are paying him. Here are some of them: American Institute of Wine and Food, Mars, Mead Johnson Nutritional Group, the Milk Industry Foundation, the Monsanto Corporation, Nabisco, the National Dairy Council, the Nestle Foundation for Nutrition and Health, Ocean Spray, Parke-Davis, Proctor & Gamble, Quaker Oats and the United Dairy Industry.
One more! NutraSweet
It may look unbelievable and we will summarize again: Dr. W. Callaway is a nationally acknowledged expert for nutrition who claims that there is no danger from aspartame at all. He is paid by NutraSweet and Ajinomoto which are the biggest manufacturers of aspartame.
It is clear that the people are tricked for a bigger profit. Where do the profits come in? It is calculated that the U.S. marker for unnatural sweeteners with aspartame leading the charge will be more than $3 billion around the world.
The quote-“Several ingredients have resisted such detailed testing and iterated, close scrutiny, and the process through which aspartame has gone should give the public with more confidence of its safety”, can be found at the top of the home page for the Aspartame Information Center, who is in fact one of the two largest manufacturers of aspartame.
It’s attributed to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
How can you know which product is including aspartame? As the Aspartame Resource Center suggested, the aspartame can be found on the ingredients list, if it is included in the product. The FDA obligates the companies to list the aspartame if it is included in their products.
But, not every company lists it in its regular name, so you may find an ingredient called “phenylalanine”, which is actually an ingredient of aspartame. That product contains aspartame.
But you should be careful because of the tiny print on the most of the ingredient labels on the products. You can find aspartame where you never expected, like in the vitamins, or the liquid antibiotics or Metamucil.
The food industry which produces and sells this harmful product is controlling the government and the medical experts, and we shouldn’t expect any help from their side. The only thing you can do is to be more careful about the products you are buying for your children and your family, because that is the only way to protect your family and yourself from this harmful product.

Don’t forget to share and spread the word about aspartame, as sharing is caring!

NCC’s SEA Games venues get ‘Class 1’ certification
#PHnews: NCC’s SEA Games venues get ‘Class 1’ certification
MANILA -- The International Athletics Association Federation (IAAF) and the International Swimming Federation (FINA) have certified the New Clark City (NCC) Athletics Stadium and Aquatic Center in Capas, Tarlac as “Class 1” facilities for the hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games from November 30 to December 11 this year.
The certification of the NCC sports facilities was announced on Wednesday in a press conference attended by House of Representatives Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano; Senator Bong Go; Bases Conversion Development Authority CEO and president Vince Dizon; Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Bambol Tolentino; and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) commissioners Ramon Fernandez and Arnold Agustin.
"It was just a dream before. But because of the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, natupad po ang dating pangarap lamang (of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, what was once a dream turned into reality)," Dizon said.
The world-class sports facilities, where athletics and aquatics in the SEA Games will be held, were constructed in 18 months.

With the construction of the Class 1 venues, Go said the Philippines is ready to produce more world-class talents who can follow the footsteps of world champions Carlos Yulo of gymnastics, Nesthy Petecio of boxing, and Olympic qualifier EJ Obiena of athletics.
"Magiging masaya po ang ating Pangulo sa pagkakagawa ng nasabing sports facilities dito po sa Pampanga (Our President will surely appreciate the construction of these sports facilities here in Pampanga),” he said.
“Ngayon ay masisiguro na po natin na makakapag-hubog po ang Pilipinas ng mga (Now we can surely produce) world-class athletes like Caloy Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Ej Obiena now that we have access to the world-class facilities dito sa ating bansa (here in our country)," he added.
