The hotshots thing in the press release for S8 has me thinking about types of firefighters and now I'm thinking about a fire watcher au. Buck who fully isolated himself after the injury and decided fuck this fuck them fuck it all imma go sit on a mountaintop and watch for smoke. Fully alone in the still deserted parts of the world, just watching the horizon for signs of fire to radio back in and let people know he's spotted something. So distant from not only his friends and family but the very thing he considers the REASON he had them in the first place. And instead of going towards the fire, when Buck spots a fire now it usually means he's about to get evacuated out.

Premise: in Jak 3, is Damas's "death scene", it's fairly obvious that just his legs are pinned because 2003 software constraints I guess. Brain said "what if they'd brought him into Jak X without retconning the end of Jak 3 at all?" And this is what resulted

Sidesaddle is a mech who ended up on earth separately from others before the war. He lived on Earth in the American West for a long time before getting picked up by the Autobots during the war. During his time on Earth, he picked up cowboy habits from old Western films. He wants to ride a horse SO bad but he's too big. Seems cool at first glance but is actually a big softie. He got his hat from some sort of outdoor decoration that he just couldn't resist taking it from.

Airlift is a medic. I don't have a lot of lore for him yet but I love him and sometimes that's enough.

In my head they're G1/IDW sort of continuity but honestly all of my OCs kind of float in the void. If anyone ever wants their ocs to interact with them PLEEEASE don't be afraid
