The imbroglio between Kano Emir and Air Peace Air Peace shouldn't apologise to the Emir of Kano. The Emir should know that his grandstanding on this issue will not work. He shouldn't have allowed his overzealous relative, Isa Bayero to make nonsense of him by issuing unfortunate media statements which include the obnoxious three-day ultimatum. This bad situation that the Emir has found himself in could have been resolved amicably without the media feasting on the story, unfortunately, the Emir's right-hand man Isa escalated the issue even to the detriment of the royal father. For me, AirPeace did not commit any infraction, the airline stuck with their standard operating procedure and even went ahead to arrange for the Emir to be flown on the next flight. I think that's a demonstration of magnanimity on the part of Air peace. While the heated debate has been ongoing, Isa Bayero released another shot by giving Airpeace GMD a 3-day ultimatum to go and apologise to the Emir. So, the Air Peace CEO is expected to fly to Kano and prostrate before the Emir while apologising for failing to stop a taxing aircraft fully loaded with passengers for the Emir. The ultimatum is unnecessary but if the Air Peace boss, Allen Onyeama must respond to this ultimatum, his verbal arsenals must be fully loaded with facts to disabuse the mind of the Emir on the standard operating procedure of Airpeace. He should be able to tell the Emir to his face that there is no room for favouritism and entitlement for any VIP. Should Air Peace decide not to respond to the 3-day ultimatum, the airline has absolutely nothing to lose. I will state categorically that the airline by its action endeared its brand to the Nigerian masses. Favouritism, cronyism, preferential treatment and other forms of prejudices shouldn't be tolerated by a business establishment that is worth its onion. Imagine if every VIP keeps ordering Airpeace or any other institution about on their SOP such institutions will slowly and progressively die a natural death. Just in:Lauretta Onochie Reacts To Allen Onyema Fraud Case: Go To USA, Face Your Accuser
Tumblr media
Lauretta Onochie, aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, have asked Chief Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace Airline to return to the United State of America to face those who indicted him for money laundering.
It could be recalled that the US Attorney General’s office in Georgia had in a press release alleged that Onyema along with his airline’s Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, had been charged to court for falsifying documents and money laundering.
Both were accused of moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through US banks in a scheme “involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes,” the US indictment said.
Onochie, who through her post said President Buhari has no hands in the travails of Chief Allen Onyema said “American laws go after those who BREAK them”, therefore, Onyema should go and clarify his name.
Read her full tweets below…
1. I do not understand what Pres. @MBuhari has to do with Mr. Onyema of Airpeace being indicted and charged in the USA.
According to our Attorney General, the Fed. Govt. has not even been informed of the situation.
American laws go after those who BREAK them What a man sows….
2. How much has Nigeria invested in the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme, NDDC & 13% derivation funds? All, mostly in a black hole Do we know the extent of poverty, ignorance & disease in the Niger Delta? Please let America too help us see how Niger Delta underdeveloped Niger Delta
3. Those of us from the Niger Delta who are the direct beneficiaries of the sufferings that emanated from the looting of our wealth, will tackle them. It’s our war that is being fought. Laws, Nigerian or American, go after those who break them so we must mind our business. QED!
4. We are smarter now than ever before. Gradually, the scales of tribalism, religious affinity and political loyalty, are falling off our eyes and being replaced by Nigerianism.Nigerians are not keen on tales by the moonlight. Let him Return to America and face his accusers!
