Transcript: I don't like the fact that Afterdeath ended up determining how the fandom potrays Reaper Sans. People tend to only give Reaper attention when it's Sanscest related, and water his character down to "horny flirty guy who constantly pushes boundries". Reaper—or, really, Reapertale in general, has so much more to offer! The comic and characters are very well done, and the AU is such an interesting concept. I never see characters other than Sans get attention from the AU, though. Plus, not to mention, Soriel is canon in Reapertale. If the fandom is gonna have it's way and focus soley on shipping Reaper, why was this wonderful (and canon) dynamic shoved into the shadows? It's even a dynamic the fandom usually loves—enemies to lovers, opposites attract!

Don't get me wrong, Afterdeath can be cute. But at this point, I don't think I can say I enjoy the ship, because of how it completely destroyed both Reaper and Geno's characters. Plus, lots of Afterdeath shippers tend to act pretentious, acting as if Afterdeath is canon. Especially im the earlier years of the fandom; if you shipped Reaper with anyone but Geno, you'd get bashed for it.

Reapertale as an AU deserves more attention and recognition, including characters besides just Sans! This also ties into how the fandom's favoritism issue with OG Sans, but that's a discussion for another day.

This is just a personal take so take it with a bucket of salt. Sometimes I do feel like the internet as a whole has forgotten that tight-knitted platonic relationships exist and holds romantic ones in a higher light, and this can sometimes flanderize characters. For example, Afterdeath has been one of the most popular ships in this fandom and still is, but I've noticed that this has begun to blur the two characters together into one, or into the stereotypes of their most common ship dynamic, which is a bit of a shame since they are very interesting characters on their own as well. That isn't to diss on Afterdeath, just think of it as an observation.

Another thing I've noticed and think is kinda neat is that in the majority of Nightmare Gang stories, Cross and Horror have the closest thing to a healthy relationship in that castle. They tolerate each other the more than anyone else at least and are just good chums, good buddies at most. It does kind of make sense considering they're the only two that either haven't killed everyone in their timeline more than once or haven't killed everyone in their timeline at all, and have the overlapping goals of bettering their world through Nightmare. But the thing that I like the most about it is that it's usually platonic. In a fandom where almost any relationship between two or more characters has romantic undertones, (though there's nothing inherently wrong with that, anyone should feel free to do as they like) this is surprisingly refreshing. Just two skeletons having fun. This is more just an insight into patterns that the UTMV fandom tends to fall into than anything else and pretty much everything here is completely subjective. I tend to view relationships from a very objective standpoint and mostly hove no feelings either way about them. If you enjoy shipping characters, you should be free to do so as you wish, doesn't matter if it coincides with canon or not. Just do as you please, platonically or not.

Gonna do obscure n random hcs-

Dream has a soft spot for twins. He sees twins an gets nostalgic n sad/ most people portray ink as evil-soulless guy thats lying but i think he'd mostly be happy and having fun with life/I personally cannot see ink or classic as anything BUT aroace. I physically cannot. / when people touch error they lose their lineart and it feels soo weird. Kinda like when a hand falls asleep. / most afterdeath kids dont have the death touch, but a few like greape, anubis, or ancolie do/ nightmare isnt the nightmare dream grew up with. Hes literally a different person- a sorta parasite that took over passives body through the apples/ to go along with that last one nm and fresh resent each other. Fresh has fun with it, but nightmare hates his entire being and sees him a threat./ error is soo silly. Literally just having fun with himself until someone comes along n messes it up by having opinions or existing.

first I will say I love these headcanons/opinions these are great !!!! spinning these around in my brain. now for if they match up with my own B) all interpretations are valid interpretations Dream and twins: I've actually been thinking about something similar lately!! In my mind, its almost a trigger for him? If he sees two identical twins it Will make him think about his past, if not just make him feel..... sad. feel as if he's missing something. Ink isn't evil?: I 100% AGREE. you. you understand him. he's just a silly guy living his life. i personally like putting him in situations that reveal his morality (which, to others in the multiverse, appears grey. in short, he's a character who has the morality of a creator. there's more to it. but, hes interesting! he's interesting). I like exploring all angles of him and his views and morality and character and bwghkrgbirhwbg but really hes just a guy. just a guy having a good time yknow. or trying. AroAce Ink & Sans Classic: I pretty much fully agree with this, just with the change that I can't see them as being anything but on the aroace spectrum. I see Sans as biromantic asexual, bi aroace, or aroace. Ink is the one who I often just see as aroace, and really more often just see him as just that. Error's touch causing loss of lineart: I haven't ever thought of this before but I LOVE IT SM. will be thinking of this.... I also like the idea of physical touch not just hurting Error but affecting whoever touched them.

AfterDeath kids and Death's Touch: I actually don't know a lot about AfterDeath ship kids! So, I haven't really thought much about them. I do think that any kids of reaper and geno would have something weird around death though, maybe not death touch but something similar. Nightmare isn't Nightmare?: I actually really don't like Nightmare and passive not being the same person. Personally, I feel like there is a way you could rewrite Dreamtale to make it work better, but it would have to be a significant rewrite (which people do and I love it when they do). It just feels like... something often gets lost with Nightmare's story when he isn't the same person, at least in some way. I personally like the idea that Nightmare himself doesn't see himself as passive. He sees himself as having killed that part of him, or something like that. Or, I can see Nightmare having dissociated away from that part of himself. Or, I can see Nightmare being like "yeah I'm nightmare I'm the nightmare you knew, Dream. this is what you've done, this is what you've made". In any case, they are the same person in at least some way to me. Nightmare and Fresh resent each other: This is really cool with the idea of both Nightmare and Fresh being parasites. It's not a headcanon I have, since I don't see Nightmare that way. I think Nightmare is just kinda mildly annoyed by Fresh- Fresh thinks Nightmare is fun to mess with. Nm rarely ever destorys aus (because he needs aus to feed on) so Fresh doesn't see him as a threat. Error is silly: YES. well. ok. sometimes. Error takes his job seriously..... sometimes..... like cq has said Error is contradictory he doesn't make sense he's not supposed to make sense. I think sometimes Error's silly with it sometimes he's not. overall he is just a silly guy though !!

my main thing with sanscest is i like shipping the personalities :0 they're basically all sanses, that's at least one common thing they have w each other, and them being 'sans' becomes like. the base? like stick figures/dolls/literal round skeletons, and the things that differentiate them from each other are their personalities, aesthetic looks, experiences... it's super fun to think about what dynamics one guy has w another guy, and what stories can come out of that (that's literally what shipping is, right LOL)

but yaaa haven't done much s/s content (or consumed much these past months) bc my head is so full of self-shipping every day and that stuff makes my heart noticeably happier, haha 💙

I imagine Geno is the dopey kind of lovesick XD And I'll go ahead and take this opportunity to mention that I personally would have found a way to canonize (at least in MCQ) an AfterDeath ship but I decided against it for legal reasons. I didn't know @renrink personally and asking them for Reaper to be printed in merch felt off - just about everyone else in the comic I had close permissions for or at least had a real conversation with at LEAST a couple times regarding their characters and stuff. Yeah, I know it would've still been just an image/post image in the forward but it still didn't really feel right. With pillow merch I can stop and start at any time if anything changes, but the comic will be on my table forever.

Не можу назвати себе художником, оскільки я не маю певної освіти чи достатньої кількості досвіду в малюванні, але бажання візуалізувати свого шип-кіда та підтримка друзів допомогли мені спробувати себе. Кассандра дуже спокійна і навіть холодна леді, вона надає перевагу класичному стилю. Має гарний голос!

За все своє життя мала багато хобі, але все ж таки наука затягнула її (проте своїм основним заняттям назве медицину).

Касс обожнює тишу, читати книги в улюбленому кріслі та спостерігати за природою здалека. Намагається підтримувати теплі відносини із сім'єю. Її можна назвати суворою сестрою, проте вона дуже піклується про братів/сестер, а також до неї можна звернутися за порадою.

Кассандра - сильний маг, в особливості добре розвинена лікуюча магія. Смертельний дотик від Ріпера їй передався деяким відсотком, вона має ауру, що забере життя, але цього не достатньо, аби вбити когось. Тому біля неї можуть загинути, наприклад, квіти або пов'янути трава. Аура має чорно-фіолетовий колір, може з'явитися у вигляді туману/диму.

Андра холодна тілом, тому може носити рукавиці, щоб при контакті не морозити когось. Знайома з багатьма всесвітами й іншими шип-кідами, відноситься до цього абсолютно спокійно.

Good afternoon, fans of Undertale and it's alternate universes!

I think many of you have your AU or version of any character from the original game. Someone openly talks about them, and someone, for various reasons, doesn't have the courage to show their creations. I wish everyone success, inspiration and self-confidence! Everything will work out for you!

And I want to share a shipkid of one of my favorite ships - Afterdeath. I hope that I can become a little part of the interesting and enjoyable content of Undertale AU.

I can't call myself an artist because I don't have a certain education or enough experience in drawing, but the desire to visualize my ship kid and the support of my friends helped me to try myself. Please forgive me for the mistakes in the drawings and in my English, I'll also try to make the character less similar to the sources of inspiration in the future 🙏🏻.

This madam is my Afterdeath shipkid. Her name is Kassandra (short form Kass, Andra, and also Shadow Lady) and she is 29 years old.

Kassandra is a very calm and even cold lady, she prefers a classic style. She has a beautiful voice!

Throughout her life, she had many hobbies, but she was still drawn to science (however, she called medicine her main occupation).

Kass loves silence, reading books in her favorite chair and watching nature from afar. She tries to maintain warm relations with his family; can be called a strict sister, but she cares a lot about her brothers/sisters and you can ask her for advice.

Kassandra is a strong mage, especially well-developed healing magic. The death touch from the Reaper was transferred to her by a certain percentage, she has an aura that will take life, but it's not enough to kill someone. Therefore, flowers or grass may wither near her, for example. The aura is black-purple in color and may appear as fog/smoke.

Andra has a cold body, so she can wear gloves so as not to freeze someone on contact. Kass aware with many universes and other shipkids, she is absolutely calm about it.

Kassandra belongs to me.

Reaper Sans belongs to Renrink.

Geno Sans belongs to LoverofPiggies (CrayonQueen).
