@gatoburr0 *places my oc in your au*
Wow, I love love LOVE your fuzzy au! Since I have a fuzzy octoling character I thought I'd draw them in the style of your au (other pics of her provided cuz I've never posted about her on here lol).
This is Ferret, the first fuzzy octoling. Growing up in the harsh Splatlands taught her to be fierce and tough, leading to her becoming leader to one of the many gangs there. Falling into the crater changed things though..... Mr. Grizz needed a test subject for his new fuzzy ooze after all. In your au, she takes on the appearance of a ferret (obviously), meaning she has dark markings all over her body and is wicked fast. Who knows what happened to her when the fuzzy ooze spread everywhere......(maybe she's hiding out in After Alterna but how am I supposed to know)
It was super fun drawing this! Keep up the work on your AMAZING fuzzy au :)

Ordered Callie loredump
(Sorry to ppl asking about other aus, I will get to you soon)
Callie and Marie were lucky enough to be in alterna when Order took over inkopolis square. The zoned-out inkopolis residents had suddenly changed, now wearing masks and donning grey, metallic skin, and they turned inkopolis square into a place of order. In short, Eight did not succeed and Order takes over inkopolis, with the goal to take over the rest of the splatoon world. Marie and Callie and the Agent 3s are able to become part of a resistance, though they mourn agent 4 and 8. They work to find any sort of way to cut off Orders influence, but nothing has worked yet. And it seems whatever was done to these 'orderlings', or parallel canon, is extremely difficult to undo. It's under these circumstances that Marie brings up the idea that after everything is over, she'd like to move into her own place to finally get some peace and quiet from all these world ending disasters. Callie, internally breaking a bit at the thought, plasters on a smile and says she's okay with it. She is, after all. No way she's going to hold Marie back. She still feels a little guilty for forcing Marie to take care of her so many times with those hypnoshades. Yet with all this, a small part of Callie starts to yearn for things to not change between them. For stability. For Order.
Tumblr media
And so, as is what happens, she wakes up in the Spire of Order. The first step of being transformed into a part of Parallel Canon.
Of course, Callie isn't going to take this lying down, even if this is a point of no return, and a few more dreams later she'll be in line. Callie stays awake for the next few days to try and keep herself from turning, even thought she knows its inevitable. This lack of sleep, as well as trying and failing to let a busy Marie know what's going on, puts her in a bad mood, and she gets into an argument with Marie, finally letting it spill how she feels about the idea of Marie leaving, halfway through which she passes out.
Tumblr media
Marie isn't hurt by the argument when she sees how sleep-deprived Callie is, and helps take her to her bed. She can talk with Callie about it in the morning. Except the next morning Callie has disappeared. Marie realizes what must have happened around this point, and rushes to inkopolis square, sneaking around, only to find that Callie has indeed become a part of Parallel Canon. This is where she pulls the mask off, despite Callie's clear distress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, Marie has to take this brainwashed Callie back with her without Callie getting them captured. This is more difficult then getting there in the first place. They have to go on foot, and Marie hopes that when they get there, they can find some way to bring Callie back to her old, dynamic self. While this Callie acts like Callie typically does, that's the problem. She acts like Callie on autopilot, cheerful and a bit clueless at times, never scared or worried or serious, lacking any ability to grow or adapt to the situation. And, of course, she doesn't want to go back to her old self. She isn't worried about it anymore, though, not when everything is so clear now. She knows that what happened to her will happen to everyone, eventually, and everything going to turn out just perfect, which is why she isn't that worried about Marie squidnapping her. She says this to Marie, even.
Tumblr media
The only thing is, she's being put in situations where she DOES end up adapting and changing, and it's slowly eroding at that brainwashing bit by bit. The more this happens, the more agitated she becomes.

Fairly Oddparents/Splatoon Crossover AU
-Dimmsdale is in the Splatlands, and is still called that because if I change it to a fish pun I have to change Doug Dimmadome's name too and I don't want to.
-Fairies are still a Thing, and the relevant fairies are still the same (admittedly vague) ages they are in canon, so Cosmo and Wanda's generation showed up just in time to witness humanity's downfall; the floods, the domes, the professor, the final desperate failure in Alterna, all of it.
-Also all the other characters are their usual ages too, so any of the kids that I turn into Inkings or Octolings are going to be blobby for a while. With one notable exception that I'll explain when it comes up.
-The Turners are Octolings, but they're not from the Domes (hence why I put Dimmsdale in the Splatlands. I wanted them near where all the action is for reasons I'll get into later and Inkadia didn't have Octolings until after the first game's story mode while the Splatlands have always had them).
-Timmy still gets Cosmo and Wanda because his parents are still Like That, and his overbite is even more potent since it's made of the point of his beak instead of a pair of front teeth.
-Cosmo and Wanda almost look like an Inkling and an Octoling, respectively. They got a few details wrong, the biggest one being that they got their hair as close to what they're used to as they could but forgot to check if they had the right number of tentacles.
-Chester's an Inkling, no real notes there
-AJ is a bald Sea Urchin
-Crocker is an Inkling and other than the obvious details looks and acts pretty much exactly like he usually does, complete with neck ears
-Francis is a bull shark, as a reference to his "Bull-E" persona in the episode where everyone's superheroes
-Doug Dimmadome is a walrus (Marina mentions that her landlord is a Narwhal in Splat 2, marine mammal people exist)
-Vicky and Tootie are Octolings, and they are from the Domes but Vicky got them out. She actually hadn't heard Calamari Inkantation at the time, but Tootie had due to a Conveniently Placed Vent, and Vicky knew that anyone who heard that song would try to get to the surface and some of them didn't make it out alive and if even Elites hand-picked by DJ Octavio himself couldn't make it there's no way her seven-year-old nearsighted inkblot of a little sister would be able to get out on her own, but if she stayed she'd be miserable and trapped forever and that would be even worse, so Vicky packed their bags and grabbed Tootie and climbed for their lives despite very much not being freed from the Octarian propaganda by a weird magic folk-turned-pop song like everybody else who made this climb. They would've made it to Inkopolis like the other refugees but they made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in Dimmsdale instead.
-Due to this she ends up having to raise her sister, get enough money to keep them both alive via Grizzco, babysitting and other odd jobs (she can't do turf or ranked/league because there's too much chance of her training/brainwashing kicking in and making her do something stupid Because Inklings like attack her own teammates or ignore the end-of-match whistle), teach Tootie how to speak Inklish and both of them how to read it, and figure out how to get them legal identities, all while every fiber of her being screams at her that The Enemy is all around them (it takes her the better part of a year after escaping to finally find and listen to the Inkantation, since she didn't know what it was called and wasn't high enough in the ranks to know anything about the Cuttlefish family). At fourteen.
-Chloe is an Inkling, and when she's introduced she already knows how to shift and is clearly used to it despite still being a month and a half or so away from turning twelve, which is... kind of a Bad Sign. Most Cephalings only manage that by thirteen or fourteen, though getting it at twelve, while uncommon, isn't unheard of. Any earlier and there's potentially health risks, especially since it almost has to be a case of the kid forcing it to happen (usually due to pressure and unrealistic expectations, often of the parental variety). And I mean big, "how prepared are you for your child to never be able to walk again" kind of health risks, though that's the worst-case scenario. In Chloe's case there were, in fact, negative effects, but nothing that drastic.
...No, she just starts aching all over if she spends too much time in squid form. And sometimes has stiff joints when it's cold.
-Haven't figured out what the rest of the human characters get turned into for this, but the alien and magical characters are still the same species they were in canon. And yes, the events of the show more-or-less stay the same.
-For a bit of post-series stuff, Timmy, Tootie, Chester and Chloe decide to try at being a comp team, and they're actually pretty good at it (thanks in large part to Vicky teaching them everything she learned from Grizzco, her time in the Octarian military and all the weird tricks she's had to pick up during their adventures). Their team's called the Twerpz and they've got a bit of an unusual lineup of preferred weapons.
Timmy (Splat Handle "No Ruelz" because of course it is) is the team captain and uses a Snipewriter 5H
Tootie (just uses her name) uses a Sloshing Machine Neo
Chester (uses his last name because of the whole infamous family legacy thing) uses the vanilla Splatana Stamper, and has discovered that he can use it like a baseball bat to knock away incoming bombs... aside from burst bombs since they explode on impact. Learned that one the hard way.
Chloe (goes by "3LeafClovr" because everyone thinks she's lucky when she's really not) uses a Luna Blaster Neo. She gets around the issue with her squid form by only shifting when absolutely necessary and compensating with Ink Saver (both kinds), Ink Recovery Up, a little Run Speed Up, and Parkour
So they've got a blaster that can't swim, a splatana that thinks he's in a completely different sport, their only backliner is a pencil, and not a single one of them has Ink Armor despite having two short-range weapons. It probably shouldn't work, but it does, because all four of them are completely nuts and using strategies concocted by a former Octarian soldier and Timmy coddamn Turner of all people
-Tootie ends up as Neo Agent 3. Thanks to being friends with Timmy Return of the Mammalians isn't even close to the weirdest thing that's ever happened to her. And yes this means that by that point she and Vicky have a Smallfry roommate. Tootie found him alone in the desert. Everybody calls him Shwaffle and there are absolutely zero thoughts between those big ol' eyes.
-The rest of the Squidbeak Splatoon is very confused and concerned by the things they hear about their new agent's friends and hometown
-When Timmy was twelve he and Vicky did something and now every gang in the Splatlands is scared shitless of them, including Deep Cut. They've never managed to tell anyone the full story of what exactly happened, though they will occasionally reference bits and pieces of it that sound absolutely batshit insane out of context

Multi Meggy Mayhem (Get to Know Your AU Meggy)
I’m a vein similar to Into the Marioverse, someone is going around, kidnapping and subsequently brainwashing the multiverses Meggy’a and it’s up to the Splatsquad to save the universe from its biggest threat- thousands of armed and dangerous brain washed Meggys
And now here YOU yes you get to meet the various Meggy’s we meet in this silly adventure
Triple Dose - A Meggy who has been hypnoshaded then sanitised and a few years into her recovery feom said sanitisation was fuzzified, shes taller than most Meggy’s (about Tari’s height) but suffers from severe back pain and needs to wear a brace as a result, currently recovering from amnesia and sometimes slips into a feral like state
Paper Jam - A Meggy from the paper jam verse, she is currently Captain of the Squidbeak Splatoon and got adopted by Cuttlefish, adoptive guardian of Veronika and currently dating Saiko, Tari and Desti in an open relationship, because of the sanitization her right eye is blind due to its light sensitivity, leaving aher needing to wear an eyepatch to avoid strain and had also been coaching a Team Blue from the Splatoon Manga and has also been present for the events of the Manga she doesn’t like others thinking they’re better than everyone else and sometimes gives such people a taste of humble pie (in the case of Wireglasses) if they go too far, she also dislikes the mindset of “The Strong rule the weak” since everyone needed to start from somewhere even the strongest Turfer used to be one of the weak you know, has emotionally adopted Team Blue and is now a single mom that works two jobs something something survivor
Soldier 30 - A Meggy who was made for super soldier program and was essentially a child soldier for most of her life it wasn’t until she was 14 and she ran into Mario (and tried to kill him and SMG4 on multiple occasions) that she began to learn that not is all as it seems and began to slowly but surely question her commanders orders, it wasn’t until she was 16 did she defect and that was during the anime arc, unlike canon Meggy who has green and purple eyes Soldier 30 has red and green eyes and also a list of war crimes
What-If Fuzz - Set in the what-if universe version of Squid Meme, this Meggy’s corpse was used as essential Subject 0 for Mr. Grizz’s Fuzzy Ooze for 4 years because of this she was extremely more fucked up than other more recently fuzzified subjects being a very tall cat bear like creature, it wasn’t until she ran into the NSS who were investigating Alterna whilst on her 333th escape attempt and got partially domesticated due to her immediate attachment to the Captain (who happened to be her younger sibling, Paige) did she begin to regain her suppressed memories that were sealed because of the combined trauma of getting stabbed, coming back from the dead and the countless experiments performed by Grizz, nowadays she has since regained her memories and is trying to live life the best she can whilst being a fucked up mutant cat bear thing, she’s also quite tall being about Saiko’s height and suffers from body aches from the bones she has
Italian Squid - This Meggy was taken in by Mario and Luigi after she was abandoned by her parents on the side of a road when she was a baby as a result she has an even stronger sibling bond than most Meggy’s with her Mario and Luigi and ended up learning a few tricks from them as well, now being able to Jump around like a bro and to swing around a hammer like a pro, she also has a minor italian accent, don’t worry Red and Lou still took her to Inkadia to exprience her heritage and culture, her best friends are Sam, Heavy Squid and Kenji and she’s been on her own Mario branded adventures like her brothers
Meggy and the Music Box - This Meggy has seen more horrors and is on the brink of a mental breakdown and going mas with the only thing keeping her sane is her determination to save both of her brothers from the clutches of the Mario Mansion, she is currently on her 40th loop and always has bruises around her neck from escaping a possessed Mario who was trying to strangle her
Wolf Squid - Before meeting Mario, this Meggy got bitten by a wolf on a camping trip with her friends as a result she now carries lycanthropy, doesn’t really change many things yet causes massive changes, shes a feral little shit who just wants pets
SuperBowserGlitchy - With Bowser being the Avatar instead of Mario, things are bound to change to fit this new Narrative as such this Meggy instead of being like a little sister to Bowser is straight up his adoptive daughter, Bowser ended up adopting Meggy and now she’s the General of his Army (and also has her own mini biker faction of the koopa army called the Killer Splatz) and honestly she makes them work like the damn Navy, she has a whole biker aesthetic going on with her owning a motorbike with a mini side car and instead of wearing a Plumber hat to replace her headgear she wears a Bowser sanctified Koopa baseball cap hat (it’s basically a baseball hat worth bowsers hair and horns) and is practically Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings cool older sister who they hide behind whenever things look grim, due to a magic accident that almost cause Meggy to suffer what was essentially ego death, she is now part koopa along with her being a human and inkling amalgamation (which in itself is a complicated thing), she’s somewhat fire resistant as a result and also carries around a shield of a spiked koopa shell (which may have been bowsers great grandpa but who the fuck knows at this point) which she carrie’s on her back
Puzzle Pieces stained in Orange - This Meggy was childhood friends with Puzzles (key word on the was) and was there to bare witness to his downward mental spiral into insanity and saw first hand the after math of cutting his face off and relplacing it with a television set, now she’s just trying to live her life peacefully after ditching puzzles
Love in the Cold - This Meggy is married to her universes Shiver after a series of misadventures and messes and has 3 kids with said Splatlandian, she also is a bit older than other Meggy’s being about 25 (basically she’s a girl dad with a loving family
There are Many Benefits to being a Mersquid - A Meggy from a world where pirates and high magic are common place, shes a mersquid and not just any mersquid but one blessed by the sea god Ollyseus and is the current de facto King of Inkadia due to winning the Turf War Crowning Tournament and “slaying” the corrupted Sea Demon King One-Shot Wren

DBH: Where Hank's son comes from?
No, I am not asking about "the flowers and the bees" type of education and neither "from stock images" reply :D
Is there some official explanation about who was Cole's mother? Or do you have some cool AU about it? I would like to hear it!
Reasons why and what I keep thinking about it:
Hank is heavily affected by Cole's death and keeps lamenting about it a lot of times. He mentions his name a lot, he talks about the accident, feels deep remorse and guilt about failing as a father and as a police officer and even hates entire group of androids for one being unable to save Cole in the hospital. - You know this all from the game - But what happened to the MOTHER then?
Would she happened to have some accident or fatal illness, Hank would mention losing BOTH of them in the same way, wouldn't he?
If she dissapeared and Hank still loved her he would have at least one picture of her in the house somewhere. We see no picture at all, not even some torn one. Does Hank HATES her then and tries to forget her face and existence entirelly?
If she ran away from him, mothers usually take their children with them and leave the father behind. But Cole stayed with his father. Could that mean she had some mental disability she left her own child behind? Maybe she become drug addicted? Maybe she even ended up in prison? Maybe he became a police officer because of her?
If the mother divorced with Hank usually the court decides that the child stay with it's mother if there is not a special situation of the mother not wanting it or having too little money, is mentally unable or have no healthy place to rise a child. But Hank doesn't seem like he is swimming in money either. Or maybe he did before he fell into the depression? But this version still doesn't erase mother from the story because after she would find out about the accident, wouldn't she seek Hank about it or start hanging around again? Sometimes such bad situations put people back together. Of course might have been the very opposite of the mother being disgusted by Hank's 'unliability' causing the death of their kid so she was the one cutting of all chains with him and Hank just did the same to be even harder on himself. Although still I wonder if he would mention her in his depression reason.
Was Cole adopted?
If mother is non existing there might be a believable explenatory that Cole came from an orphanage. Based on the fact there are no other photos of Cole in younger age in the very house of Hank who is so attached to his lost son, maybe he adopted him older, maybe even at the very age or just a few years before he lost him.
What if Hank wanted kids so badly but found out he can't have them? Would he go for adoption or was Cole even made ARTIFICIALLY? I mean we talk about the future world and such options are already pretty possible today, what could be the options in 10 more years? But maybe that wouldn't fit Hank's psychology of disliking anything 'artificial' or 'too modern' so we could rather imagining him knowing the option but being too grumpy and obdurate to do it even if he wanted a kid so much.
I have that little fan theory in my head that Cole could have been a baby Hank found in a family car wreckage after a terrible accident he was being called to as a police officer. Finding out that the child's parents were killed in the accident he felt the fatherly protective instinct to take care of him by himself. However, could that fatherly instinct wake up even if the person was not an actuall father first?
Another option about the same kind of idea would be that he took that kid away from some red ice bunker gang/couple. He was part of the anti-drug unit. Maybe he found neglected kid in one of the hideouts (these kids are taken away by the child protective services first) and adopted it, cutting off any past of his parents from him.
I can imagine how even harder would it be for Hank to be unable to become a father physically, so he finds an alternative, and then he loses the child shortly after. Must have hit even harder feeling like a total failure of a man with everything against him preventing him to grasp the dream of being the father.
But this is all just my train of thoughts, I'd like to hear your opinions or corrections or, as I wrote in the beginning, your ideas or your own versions :) Thank you for reading!

twitter seems to be experiencing some very rapid decay so here’s some lore that may or may not have been twitter exclusive before (and by that i mean i don’t remember if i’ve posted them here) so they are not lost to the void
some full ver. pictures under da cut :-)   (also a splatoon 3 hero mode spoiler)

og panels of the comic where four is very much not happy. i still wish just a little bit that i’d had the chance to finish this one cause i wanted it to be really impactful, but life just doesn’t really go your way sometimes. (i’m not going back to make it now, sorry folks, lololol)

old sketchbook doodles of the original Dedf1sh Recovery AU before I made 14-crush. I don’t think I ever said this (or maybe I did????? it’s hard to keep track, honestly) but the original reason I said Ahato wanted to try out the Tetra Dualies is because I wanted her to eventually be called “Tetra,” and follow a similar name scheme to the manga (as the characters there are named after gear.) Of course, then the Octo Expansion artbook dropped outta da sky and featured a true name reveal for Dedf1sh and of course that was gonna be much easier to go with, so I did that instead. Honestly, it’s kind of a relief, cause to be honest, I don’t really think dualies suit her... ^^”
Tumblr media
This is the original icon that was briefly used at the start of 14-crush, not much more to add here. I wonder if there’s many people around who remember it now?
Ahato wears a hoodie because she gets cold really easily, but I like to think she starts wearing cool loose shirts like this again once she’s farther along in her recovery.

This one’s funny cause thanks to Splatoon 3′s Alterna Logs i can now finally answer this question with “humans loved sonic the hedgehog so much that when modern inklings/octolings evolved from human desires they just ended up recreating the entire franchise as well as the consoles they were played on” and that’s, like, acceptable, mostly.

Fuck it
Have some pure Operator and Tartar trivia because I randomly thought of a whole lot of trivia. + Some bonus Everest trivia because she’s my favorite.
To start this off, how about some Tartar trivia!
* When all of humanity went extinct, Tartar retreated into the professor’s lab and set up base before it went out and started collecting up every game, book, movie, every kind of media it possibly could find. He even pirate- bought every online game, book, and movie he could. They did avoid online and multiplayer only games for obvious reasons. And before anyone can ask the haha, funny, unhinged question; yes, Tartar did in fact break into houses and other living quarters to make sure it got everything it possibly could get to keep itself entertained for the isolation it had already predicted it would go through. When Tartar ran out of things to do (which took forever), he started making sequels and giving endings to things that were left on cliffhangers. No, this did not stop Tartar from going crazy in isolation, it only helped them ignore it.
* When Tartar did all of that, it started replaying them and fully completing them. Eventually, when there was nothing else to do, he started watching the world change around him.
* So basically, the Resurgence AU Tartar is a gamer.
*Seriously, they will ramble about the things they did during that isolation period if you ask about them.
* I think Tartar liked the Halo games, the Bioshock games, and a few others but it doesn’t like the lore of Bioshock 1 and 2 (It reminds Tartar of Alterna and the professor) but it adores Bioshock Infinite, the lore that it knows doesn’t remind it of its isolation.
* Off page, Everest did once come across the room that Tartar stayed in and got curious. She started going through everything and collected up the things she found interesting (Wings of Fire, Warriors, mostly just books really). One day, Tartar passed by her room and found her reading Wings of Fire (I like to believe that Everest is a huge fan of the series. She loves dragons! Notably though, her least favorite tribe is SeaWings) and had a jolt of shock go through him before asking her where she got the book. Everest admitted and Tartar explained before leaving her alone, absolutely ecstatic that Everest discovered one of the many things he had from the time of the old humans.
Operator time!
* After Tartar’s reset, while yes, Operator did keep a lot of information about humanity and also (albeit now hazy) memories about its isolation, a lot of the older information about humans was erased thanks to the reset.
* He remembers a lot of the games he played during that isolation and after the reset, Everest found herself back in that room when she discovered Bioshock. Operator remembers the game’s contents and refuses to let Everest play because it’s graphic. Everest came up with a plan and dug out a different game, pretending to have interest in it. Operator was skeptical but eventually helped Everest fix and get the console working. Everest played the game she claimed to be interested in for just an hour (Operator was watching her) before putting in Bioshock Infinite the second Operator stopped watching her. Eventually, Everest got to the point where everything goes downhill and she pauses the game immediately after the scene. Operator reenters the room to find Everest crying, curled up on the ground. It’s immediately clear to him that Everest is having a traumatic flashback to her times in the cult. Operator looked at the game (Bioshock Infinite) which gave him a huge clue on what was going on because he remembered the contents of Bioshock Infinite. Operator begins to comfort Everest and soon puts in a different game. Once Everest is snapped back to reality, Operator gets her to start playing a game they would both enjoy and it’s honestly just a sweet scene of Operator comforting Everest.

Splatoon undertale Au because I can't sleep. I will state who would be what character and why I think they would, any disagreements or comments on this are encouraged
In this Universe Humanity wasn't completely extinct and eventually came back to the surface and coexisted alongside the sea turned land creatures but eventually grew fearful of them and attacked their cities forcing them underground. The sea people ( I don't have a better name to generalize everyone) would definitely put up a better fight than the monsters didn't undertale but cephalopods weaknesses to water and Humanities probably more advanced technology would out do them. Everything basically plays out the same as undertale from there except for the fact that they're trying to use humans DNA to open giant mechanical gate the humans use to keep them underground, just go with it and the royal guard is the NSS . Until Neo 3 lands I'm the underground (which would probably be a connection or mix of the domes, Alterna and the deep-sea metro.) Is initially Guided by Craig who nicknams them neo 3, clashes with agent 3, fights pearl until they get tired, beats agent 8 who's trying to go to the surface to be a star, then fights Octavio. I'll assume determination isn't a thing here or at least not in the fourth wall breaking way of undertale, so after Neo 3 beats Octavio everyone else comes to intervene then are all captured by Callie (when she got splatted her soul instead of flying into a respawn Point flew into a flower) who.... uh wants to absorb all their ink to regain her body and gain power? but is defeated by neo with the help from the others, Callie realizes the error of her ways and uses the power she got to destroy the gate. Then everyone lives happily ever after I guess.
Agent 4 - Sans
Chill and laid back on the surface, cares deeply for those around her. Likes telling jokes and pulling pranks, is definitely underestimated by everyone. Sibling Vibes with agent 3. Would most definitely be deadly if you got on their bad side or hurt someone they care about. Has a few secrets.
Agent 3 - papyrus
Would definitely be overly dedicated to her cause and more effective than most people give her credit for. Can be a bit blinded by ambition and is desperate for approval. Goes by agent 3 to show her dedication to joining the group and forced agent four to do the same.
Pearl - undying
Could definitely be dedicated to a cause, strong and imposing despite her clear flaws.
Marina - Alphys
Smart, shy and desperate for approval all fit Marina. Is definitely hiding skeletons in her closet. Has a crush on pearl
Agent 8 - Mettaton
8 is shown to be photogenic and can definitely give off movie star vibes, especially since 8 saved the world in heels if she can do that she doesn't need stuntmen, plus they do have a good relationship with Marina
Octavio - Asgore
Old and bitter and is dedicated to revenge for the good of his people but it's shown to be willing to do the right thing, gives off gay vibes with cuttlefish too so they can be ex's
Cuttlefish - Toriel
Is shown to be caring sort of... definitely a guide of some kind and would probably not approve of Octavio's decree to destroy the remains of humanity
Callie - Chara
Has both good and evil sides, can easily be lead on the wrong path. Tbf this one's a stretch
Marie - Asrile
Could definitely be shown as caring but also open to making mistakes
Frisk - Neo 3
Would be human, basically falls down a hole into a whole new world that they have to Traverse. Plus they definitely give determined kid vibes

Ughhhhh I came up with this kind of dumb Splatoon AU DLC thing which is basically a rip off of Octo expansion but it refuses to leave my brain so here’s the basics: Salmonlings being scienced into existence and going through levels to try and be able to leave for the city by sinister group.
There’s a fan concept of Salmonlings, which are basically humanoid versions of Salmonids which also have a swim form but tend to be more xeno in design than Inklings or Octolings.
Salmonlings here are a science experiment gone wrong, where some scientists tried experimenting on Salmonid eggs to create extremely tough monsters. However, this ended up creating Salmonlings by combining Inkling CNA with Salmonid.
Salmonlings can swim in water, unlike Inklings, but loose their main Salmonid form in favour of something…. Fresher. Their swim form is more in line with the appearance of inklings and Octolings swim forms, and they’re able to take on ink like them.
They also can be splatted by enemy ink, as their skin may be able to resist water but can’t handle too much enemy ink.
The dlc follows some of these experiments soon after they emerge from their test tube, being tested for mental and physical capabilities. (Somewhat similar to Octo Expansion or Alterna format). The Salmonlings are promised that if they complete all the tests, they’ll be able to leave the facility; and are then dropped into their hub area which is a barracks/common area for the Salmonlings.
Ideas
- The whole vibe of this dlc is kind of grimy and inspired by the sea a lot more directly - with the music themed after rock and roll, and everything being a little dirty. There are fishing nets everywhere, dark spots on the walls and floors, and water is leaking in from the ceiling.
- The vibe is also supposed to invoke how the Grizz Co hub area feels like, with oranges and greens everywhere.
- The person who takes you in your tests is also a pre-recorded and distorted voice coming through a radio, though it isn’t Mr grizz.
- Salmonlings come out in batches, the batch with the protagonist (and most recent batch) is batch 10 also known as Iota (each batch is given a Greek numeral nickname)
- Other batches of Salmonlings are there, as far back as batch 6 (or Digamma) However, if you are unable to pass their tests in an amount of time, or flunk out, you’re assigned to work in the underground facilities of this place.
- Salmonlings are different from salmonids for many reasons, but Salmonids can somehow tell they are somewhat kin so they don’t attack Salmonlings and even help them on occasion if the situation permits it.
- At the end of every level, there is a pin that can be collected and has a description which reveals a small bit of lore or the feelings of the protagonist through the description. Example: This depicts a Salmon, which were the ancestor to Salmonids. Could they still swim across the seas?
- Every boss level, which there are 5 of them, has a gold pin which is added to the protagonist’s backpack.
- Each boss is a powered up Boss Salmonid: one is a Steelhead with multiple exploding sacks instead of just one, another is a rainmaker and fly fish combo, etc.
- Each test happens on the surface on some kind of shoreline, and the enemies being fought are robot duplicates of the octarian enemies we are familiar with (they don’t resemble them in appearance, they just act like the general enemies).
- One of the other Salmonlings is an npc named Kipper. She acts as an upgrade station, she can sneak in additions to your main weapon and extra sub weapons you can equip to your character. To upgrade you need to collect power eggs from the tests themselves
- As you progress, you have conversations with Kipper about how little we actually know about this, and why they were brought into existence at all. Over time, she becomes basically a big sister to the protagonist and is proud of them when they succeed.
——
When the Protagonist completes all the tests, they are led into a chamber and is almost forced into a weird machine before Kipper comes to rescue them. She reveals that she was suspicious of these tests, and came to our aid as soon as she could and that they have mind controlled a ton of other Salmonlings and made the others work on weapons.
To escape the protagonist needs to go through these weapon facilities, showing they are making war machines and the robotic enemies try and stop the protagonist, as Kipper guides them out of this facility with other Salmonlings escaping behind us (not viewable on screen, but shown in cutscenes after finishing a segment).
After they get out, the Salmonlings are attacked by Lil’ Judd in a huge Mech suit.
He reveals that this whole thing was, of course, a front to make Salmonling soldiers for Lil’ Judd. After he took over Grizz Co, he decided he wanted to start selling golden eggs to other groups. One group of amoral scientists wanted to experiment with them, and Lil Judd agreed to it and oversaw the project. Once he realized how tough the Salmonlings were, he concocted a plan to take over Inkadia by force to permanently upstage his brother who won on the inkling’s side of a war.
Now he’s prepared to attack the escaped Salmonlings, and they quickly take cover. Kipper then rallies the escapees for one last charge against Lil’ Judd, and she will sing the song from her dreams as hard as she can to help them despite her own weakness. She sings a melody not familiar to the Salmonlings, but familiar to us players - the Calamari Inkantation Solo Remix.
Lil Judd summons a bunch of Enemy Salmonlings, and the player has to fight them in four total waves with more and more coming each time. (One optional idea I had but I wasn’t sure was even realistic was having three other Salmonling AI fight alongside you. On one hand it would be a cool subversion of fighting the rivals in splatoon, on the other it would be hard to make balanced or fun in an actual game.)
After the waves are defeated, Lil Judd throws the Salmonlings off himself and boasts that even if his army could be defeated, he won’t be going down!
Then a heavy base comes from the distance, and a twinkle in the sky is then revealed to be DJ Octavio crashing in with Neo Agent 3 and Agent 8 riding on his Mech. Octavio reveals they were brought here once they heard the echoes of the heavenly melody. Neo 3 and 8 handle the army now, and Kipper volunteers us to go and help pilot the Mech to fight Lil’ Judd. We do in an epic Mech fight, with DJ Octavio remixing the solo Inkantation as they fight, and end up winning in a fade to white.
In the ending, the rest of the Squidbeak Splatoon catch-up and decide to help settle the wayward Salmonlings in Inkopolis. The credits roll as the protagonist and Kipper look out at the landscape outside as they travel towards Inkopolis in a bus ending with them leaving and the protagonist giving a small wave before leaving the bus.
In my dreams this would also open up a new area to explore, called Inkadia Harbour which is located next to the sea where the Salmonlings decide to settle in due to how close to the water it is. The player would then be rewarded with being able to play a Salmonling in the game.
And there it is. It’s just a bunch of basic ideas for story and themes, but it appeals to me as something I made up in my head. Now you have to struggle with this not being real too.

yet another au: 'deep cut'. you'll see why the quotes are there in a second, and the reason is worse than you think.
small warning: big fan of body horror and horror stuff, so body horror and horror stuff will be present in this post.
basically, mr. grizz suckered deep cut into being on his side during RotM (which took place over, what, ~2 1/2 weeks in this au) with the promise of treasure. this isn't me trying to make deep cut look stupid btw. considering the demeanor of the actual mr grizz, i think he's just a Master Manipulator who took advantage of good people.
anyway, after deep cut joins his side, he gets them to come to a location hidden deep within alterna, then gets armed fuzzy octolings to ambush them. shiver somehow manages to fight them off, but is left weakened and on the floor.
she catches a glimpse of the actual mr grizz (just his eyes) and immediately tries to crawl away, but one claw swipe takes her out. they end up in his super secret science lab (which exists TO ME) and the results are...not pleasant. instead of fighting deep cut, agent 3 has to fight the following.
Eel It In: Eelthing
eelthing is Frye fused with her eels. not just combined, fused. together. frye isn't frye anymore.
eelthing's arena is like frye's, but the dome's screens are glitchy, the giant TVs are smashed, the graffiti/stickers on the ground are
torn, and everything is either gray or yellow.
stunning eelthing is just like stunning frye—just hit the masked eels. when that's done, the eels will explode into, uh...ink? and that ink that isn't really ink will recombine and form eelthing. it's like yellow devil but worse.
during phase 1, eelthing will separate into mutated eels, and those eels will perform eel downpour. the attack basically is eel downpour, just freakier.
during phase 2, eelthing will transform into a cylinder of eels that will spin rapidly and move around the arena. it's armor-breaking on contact, too. the move from phase 1 is there too
during phase 3, eelthing will actually stay in 'inkling' form for more than 3 seconds for once. this isnt good though, as when they stay in inkling form for this long, they will sprint straight towards you. when they get fast enough, they're invincible, and they create a path of ink as they run, but hitting the edge of the arena (which they do almost every time if you dodge correctly) stuns them. hit them when they're stunned out of every move, and you're golden.-
when defeating eelthing, they literally just...melt. and thats it.
2. The Fishy Foe: Sharkthing
sharkthing was supposed to be like eelthing, with shiver being fused with master mega, but something went horribly wrong. while sharkthing is fighting you, shiver is fully concious and aware of everything, but they can't do anything to stop it. all they can do is watch.
sharkthing's arena is like the octomaw's arena combined with shiver's regular arena. the water around the arena is murky, with giant rusted metal pipes in the background. the cage that covers the arena is also rusted and broken at the top. also, the entire arena starts out covered in sharkthing’s ink
for phase 1, sharkthing will dive into a puddle of ink, swim around, then swim up, attempting to bite the player. if you’re unlucky enough to get hit by it, it’s a OHKO. however, you can hit the puddle or throw a bomb on it and stun them.
for phase 2, a pillar of ink will form in a random part of the stage (read: wherever you’re standing) and sharkthing will leap onto it. they’ll spit globs of ink that explode booyah bomb style (but smaller) when they hit the ground. like master mega, when they do this enough, they’ll be left in a position where you can throw a bomb into their mouth
for phase 3, sharkthing gains 2 more attacks: summoning an inkstrike at your current position that looks like the pillar from phase 2, and diving into ink and reefsliding towards your current position and exploding when they reach it. they stun themselves after performing the second attack, giving you a chance to hit them.
when sharkthing is defeated, they collapse onto the ground. they do not get up.
3. Lean, Mean, Fuzzy Manta Machine: Fuzzball
fuzzball is just big man and fuzzy ooze. he looks like big man covered in fuzz, with the ooze part dripping from the bottom of his fins. he has glowing eyes (like someone we know) and his little hat is replaced with a tiny grizzco hat. specifically that one from splatoon 2
his arena is inside a mechanical dome, like the boss domes in splatoon 1, except it’s decorated to look like the inside of a spaceship.
fuzzball still dives into the ground like big man in phase 1, but will sometimes pop out of the ground and fall back down, spreading a good amount of ink in the surrounding area. if he falls on you, then your armor gets broken.
in phase 2, he swims around faster, and the arena suddenly sprouts walls that fuzzball can swim along. he will start to throw various bombs (fizzy bombs, torpedoes, splat bombs, n suction bombs) on top of popping out of the ground or off the wall if you're trying to swim on.
in phase 3, the arena kind of falls apart. five circles of the arena raise, like phase 3 of big man's fight, but the rest of the ground sinks, revealing a pool of fuzzy ooze. while fuzzball is more visible in the pool, you obviously can't go in it like he does. he still throws bombs, but when he's in the pool, he'll dive under and throw bombs from there, then resurface. there's also a new move for the third phase, of course, which involves him collecting a substantial amount of fuzzy ooze from the pool and tossing it at your current location. he also gets to throw another bomb: burst bombs. they don't do as much damage as regular burst bombs and aren't thrown as much, but when they are, they're thrown three times in a row.
when defeating fuzzball, he becomes extra fuzzified, then explodes, showering the arena in fuzz.
