Our History Our Stories Our Legacies
Black History ✊🏿🫶🏽
Soul Train was a television show airing locally on WCIU-TV in Chicago, Illinois for African American musicians and Dancers to showcase their talent. Hosted by none other than Don Cornelius, The show ran from 1971 to 2006. This is an honor given that black TV shows don't get much time on air. What a time to be alive
Rest In Peace Don Cornelius 1936-2012
I decided this post needed to be in color 🤎
“I'm Don Cornelius, and as always in parting, we wish you love, peace, and soul!”

Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975), was an American-born French dancer, singer and actress. Her career was centered in Europe, mostly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, the 1927 silent film “Siren of the Tropics”. (From her Wikipedia entry)
