The side stuff (especially the timed events) on afkA can be so dull or even soporific to me. I mean, if that stuff doesn't mainly involve any of my favourite heroes, I'll just end up exerting the least effort on that. Still, I'm thoroughly enjoying the game without thoroughly playing the game, if that makes sense. lol

Like, I'm so unenthusiastic about that Vault of Time shindig; and Forest Mania was the only thing I actually enjoyed in Peaks of Time. It kinda reminds me of Candy Crush, but with a cute furry mage. XD

Headcanon #2

AFK Arena: Gavus, Eugene, liberta, lucilla

Eugene was "born" before Annih, the God of death and brother of Dura, entered his villain arc. That would probably make sense in both ways as Eugene can't remember his earliest memories, and Annih first started creating Hypogeans. Which is why Eugene carries a diary to write down his adventures as he tends to forget sometimes.

In one of Eugene's travels, he learn about spices and other seasonings. So when he and Gavus were taking care of the twins when they were toddlers, he made sure to add seasoning whenever Gavus is not looking.

Gavus doesn't know that much of the mortals, only heard a few from other celestials. So Eugene was the one who told him about other faction's culture and history.

When it comes to food, Eugene loves spicy food as it has more kick into it. While Gavus could not handle spicy food at all. For the twins, they did try to eat a spicy dish made by Eugene himself, but it didn't last. At that point, Eugene questioned if the two-devils are his children. (That one scene in the Untamed)

"Kids! I'm making dinner."

"Oh no/Papa Gavus, save us."

After the mid-winter festival, the twins started to hang out with Pippa, Rowan, Raku, Mishka, and Daimon. They would often go to small adventures together or visit each other's place for sleepover. Though they would have to remind their dad's of their whereabouts unless they get grounded again.

Lucilla having long hair gets frustrating. Liberta learns how to do hairstyles so that his sister doesn't do a horrible haircut. She'll maybe ask either Eugene or gavus to shorten her hair for the summer. (people with long hair struggles)

If either the twins get into trouble, Eugene told Gavus to ground them both as it wouldn't be fair to ground one of them.

"Okay, you're both grounded."

"Lucilla, for causing the damages."

"And Liberta for being a snitch."

Eugene probably had horns like Lucilla's, but remove them as he tries to blend in with the mortals. Either he removed it with magic or cut it.

One time, Gavus and Eugene heard cries coming from the living room. When they entered, Lucilla was trying to calm down her brother while apologizing.

Gavus: Lucilla, can you explain why Liberta is crying?

Lucilla:... I may have told him he's adopted.

Eugene: Adopted? Lucilla, you're also adopted too. What makes you think like that?

Liberta: S-she s-said that I don't have pointy ears like you dads. (crying noise)

Oh my god 🤣I need to make a fic of this. I have more ideas put I'll put it together.

AFK Arena characters born in May

Greetings Adventurers!

As the season of spring plowing ends, the Glorimon signals a peaceful life ahead!

The feature Field of Stars this month is Cetus. A giant whale will enter the dreams of the wise, and deliver them guidance from the galaxy. The heroes celebrating their birthdays this month are: Lorsan, Pippa, Niru, Scarlet, Morrow, Alaro, and Kalene.

Let's wish them––and all adventurers celebrating this month too––a very happy birthday!!

Having to draw three animal faces for this row was Not Great. Especially when I checked my list (I like to keep myself in the dark so I'm not excited and/or full of dread for too long) and saw the double gut punch of Anoki and Pippa. Anyway, I'm just glad to be done with them.

Getting to draw Silas was a ton of fun, though. Pretty obvious he's my favorite, getting his own, highly detailed lab to chill in:)

Tundra Trouble

In the frozen snowscape of the icy tundras, Pippa came across an elderly man mired by the frosty winds and snow, rushing to make it back to his home. Although he assured Pippa he would be fine alone and his home was nearby, Pippa’s kind-hearted nature would never allow her to see him left alone, so she endeavoured to accompany him there…

Pippa: What awful luck! Roaming through a nasty cold place like this again… I really hate the cold!

Old Fella: Deary me! Young lady, you’re walking terribly quickly. Mind you don’t set off any «contraptions» in your hurry.

Pippa: Sorry gramps… Don’t you think it’s too cold to live here? There’s slippery ice all over the ground, too! I just fell flat on my face! ...Achoo!

Old Fella: Heh heh, many wonderful new ideas are born in such remote, quiet places. The harsh environment doesn’t bother me much. My attention is turned to the creation of miraculous wonders.

Pippa: You sound a lot like the old fossils… er, I mean, old teachers back at the Astral Academy.

When I was there, the teachers used to say I was too impulsive and didn’t learn anything, they told me I should spend the whole day in silence studying!

Old Fella: Heh heh, well, just as not everyone has the aptitude for the arcane, not everyone learns in silence.

But what others think doesn’t matter, pay them no mind. After all, a young lady like yourself is still a bouncy cutie pie, isn’t that so?

Pippa: Gramps reminds me a lot of old Arden, I really like you, Gramps!

Don’t worry! I’ll make sure you get home safely!

Oh boy, there are so many glaciers here…! And it doesn’t seem like there’s any way through.

I have to think of a way to get past.

(After defeating the Elite Enemies to the south of the starting point.)

Pippa: (Adjusts her glasses) I was a student of the Astral Academy, and this looks to me like teleportation magic! Simply step through this gateway and voila! You’ll be magically transported out the other side elsewhere.

Although, this appears to be a one-way teleporter. You can’t come back through the same portal! Also, you can only teleport between teleporters of the same color.

(After turning the lever south of the starting point.)

Elemental Summoning Gateway: Depending on the elemental attribute it is given, it will summon that Elemental. The Fire Elemental can be summoned when given the red fire attribute. The Ice Elemental can be summoned then given the blue ice attribute.

Pippa: I remember this summoning gateway being icy blue before… did I make a mistake while freezing my tail off?

Old Fella: (Strokes beard with a smile) The young lady here certainly has learned a great deal.

(Smiling broadly) You are not mistaken. The color changed because of the contraption we just used, which cut it off the ray of icy light that had been shining on it.

I call this an elemental summoning gateway. Depending on the elemental preference it is given, it will summon forth that element.

Pippa: Uh… So that means, I can use it to summon fire right now, yes?

Old Fella: Heh heh, indeed. You’re such a clever young lady.

Pippa: This is way easier than the summoning magic they taught at the Astral Academy! You’re a bona fide genius, Gramps!

Log: Elemental summoning gateways can summon different elementals according to different colors. The blue elemental summoning gateway can summon the Ice Elemental. The red elemental summoning gateway can summon the Fire Elemental.

(After stepping through the portal south of the starting point.)

Woods: Totally normal-looking woods. Will burn down if the Fire Elemental touches it.

Pippa: These woods are a real nuisance. If Mirael was here she’d have burned it down to the ground already.

Wait a sec… If I burn the woods down, a new path will appear!

Old Fella: Now that sounds quite dangerous. Let’s hope nobody else tries to copy you.

Pippa: I’m pondering whether there’s a better way or not…

Old Fella: Perhaps the Fire Elemental can lend a hand?

Pippa: This is a fantastic idea!

Pond: Totally normal-looking pond. If touched by the Ice Elemental, it will freeze into ice. If touched by the fire Elemental, it will melt back into water.

Bandit Base: Upon opening the tent flap and peering out, you see a large group of dangerous-looking ruffians wielding all manner of weaponry gazing back at you in surprise. They seem to be a not-so-friendly gang of bandits.

(When reaching the Bandit Base at the south end of the map.)

(A group of Lurking Bandit Enemy Camps will spawn in the immediate vicinity.)

Lurking Bandits: It’s unclear how long these bandits have been waiting here in ambush. Head to toe blanketed in snow, they look moments away from freezing solid.

Pippa: Whoa! A bunch of weirdos suddenly appeared from nowhere! Gave me a real fright!

Bandit Leader: Listen up, old timer! You better give us what we want, there’s some nice stuff in there. Hurry up, otherwise we’ll get rowdy!

Old Fella: No need to be impulsive, you can have whatever you want. Those weapons you’re flailing about look quite dangerous.

Bandit: That’s right! You’re spot on, boss! Someone who lives in this kind of hellscape has to be using it to hide a tonne of valuables!

Pippa: You’re not getting anything with me here!

Bandit: Where’d the tree rat come from? Get lost, rodent.

(After defeating the Bandit Base Enemy Camp.)

Bandit Leader: Ugh! Who’d have thought a furry runt like that would hit so hard!

Pippa: Who do you think you’re calling a runt!? Looks like you haven’t learned your lesson yet! Good thing I’m here to school you scumbags!

Bandit: Hey! Boss! Wait for us, boss! Don’t leave us!

(If you defeat the Bandit Base enemies before triggering the Lurking Bandits nothing will happen.)

(After clearing the obstacles in front of the Fool’s Cabin.)

Fool’s Cabin: An isolated cabin standing alone in a landscape of ice and snow. Only a fool would choose to live in such a place.

Old Fella: Thank you, young lady, for helping this old chap get back home.

Pippa: My pleasure! Old Arden always said I should try to help people as best as I can. So I’m just doing what I can… Achoo!

Old Fella: Such a kind child! Unfortunately I don’t have anything I can give you…

Hmm, perhaps, I have something in my backyard you’ll take and find interesting. Choose something to take home with you.

Pippa: Thanks a bunch Gramps! I really appreciate it!

Log: Let’s see if there’s anything interesting in the woods in the backyard.

Ice Magic Generator: It can extract elemental ice energy and freeze puddles in the backyard. It looks like an incomplete prototype, I’m sure there won’t be a single hitch...

Log: The ice magic obtained from the Ice Magic Generator can only freeze the puddles in the old fella’s backyard.

Enchanted Pond: Only ice magic obtained from the ice Magic Generator can freeze this place into ice. Summoned Ice and Fire Elementals have no effect here.

Enchanted Trees: The woods looks like it’s full of a bunch of rejects from some failed invention. Summoned Ice and Fire Elementals have no effect here.

(After choosing the View option when interacting with the Enchanted Trees to the west in the middle of the backyard.)

Found a balloon so big, it looks like it might be able to carry people up into the sky.

Pippa: I found a huge balloon! I’m not sure how to make it fly!

I want to take it back to the Dark Forest and show it to Raku so he can experience flying in the sky, too!

Log: The huge hot air balloon is now yours! You can now fly over all the obstacles!

(After choosing the View option when interacting with the Enchanted Trees to the southeast of the backyard.)

Found a note covered in scribbles and scrawls, perhaps the old fella knows something about it? Maybe it’s important.

Pippa: Hey Gramps, I found this out back, did you lose this?

Old Fella: Let me take a look… It has writing on it, «northwest», «by the single glacier»… Oh, now I remember. This is a note I lost a very long time ago.

Pippa: What do «northwest» and «by the single glacier» mean?

Old Fella: I likely put something at this location at the time I wrote this note. If you’re interested, why not go have a look, young lady? Consider it a token of my thanks.

Log: Hmm, «northwest», «by the single glacier»… Wherever could that be?

Nothing here but leaves and snow.

Dating Gorvo, Lorsan, Pippa, Kaz, Lyca and Torne

Gorvo – I honestly prefer warm-blooded creatures. And apparently he tends to be grumpy and has the tendency to yeet people.

Lorsan – Here!

Pippa – I'd rather my place survived, it's not that cheap...

Kaz – It's not that I dislike cats but I wouldn't want a partner with the personality of one. Imagine you agree to a date only for her not to show up because she got distracted by a random shiny thing on the ground on the way, or maybe she decided she just no longer wanted to go out.

Lyca – Even her doe seems to have a holier-than-thou attitude and that seriously pisses me off. I don't care she's a prophecy come true, she will do her part of the chores and laundry.

Torne – Three constantly bickering old men stuck in one skeletal body. Need I say more?
