Nikolai doing some circus tricks!!

So, I've been taking circus classes for about seven years now. The aerial apparatus shown is called a lyra, basically a big hoop attached at the top with one or two spansets (I prefer two). The reference images are taken from a performance I did a couple months ago to the song Bernadette by IAMX, and I wanted to draw nikolai doing some of my favorite tricks from it.

JIG Response: Oh my goodness, thank you for sending this, Eli! Violet would totally be interested in performing aerial acrobatics with this equipment. As she prefers hoops and such to silks: she just feels more secure and safe like this!

I also think Zach would particularly enjoy seeing her like this, he’d probably buy it for her…ohhhhh or maybe he’d build it for her??? He’d weld it together and gift it to her for his birthday, yes his birthday 😂.

Muffets dance would be both tap and aeriel acrobatics using webs as her. Aeriel silks. Can imagine her dancing with an army of tiny spiders bobbing their heads behind her

Originally I was gonna put Undyne next. But then while drawing I have come to the conclusion with my partner that her dance outfit just wasn't working. Therefore we need more time to redesign and try stuff

Then it was decided I might as well do Fuku in the time being but with her dance I don't know what to look for in her outfit therefore tasked my lovely partner in crime to help me out by finding the outfit they imagine. But that hasn't happened yet

Now we've done Muffet!

Going up upside down... That's it, just a gif of me going up haha 😂 It was my first time being fully inverted in the winch and OMG it was AMAZING. (Look at my face -- is my radiant joy showing??) I am so unspeakably happy that I've discovered a way to dance again. It's not a little bit ironic that I had to kind of invent it, and that as incredible and frankly dangerous as it is, I can dance in literally no other way. Fuck chronic illness, and fuck gravity. Today, we dance in the air.
